Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome into episode six of Bring Heaven Down. Thank you
for making this podcast a part of your day, and
thank you for going on this journey where we pray
that the Holy Spirit is going to reveal more and
more about our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. This week,

(00:22):
my plan was to discuss and share evidence of the resurrection,
and my plan is still to do that, but yesterday
I got a little off the mark because I wanted
to discuss and talk about recent news about the passing

(00:45):
of Pope Francis, the leader of the Roman Catholic Church.
So if you're interested in hearing that podcast, that podcast
came out yesterday. But today we're back on track. And
earlier this week I shared evidence number one of Jesus's resurrection,

(01:11):
and evidence number one debunked the number one conspiracy theory
of did Jesus really die? So if you're interested, you
can go back in the podcast feed and hear the
evidence that supports the idea that Jesus was in fact

(01:31):
dead and he wasn't just passed out for a moment.
So I'm excited to dive into evidence number two and
evidence number three, So hold on tight to that steering wheel,
grab your favorite drink or a cup of coffee, and
let's bring Heaven a little closer together. If you have

(02:03):
any questions or comments, you can email the show Bring
Heaven Down number seven at gmail dot com. Bring Heaven
Down seven at gmail dot com. So another theory that
has been pushed by skeptics is theory number two was

(02:24):
the tomb always empty, because if the tomb is always empty,
then Jesus's body was never in the tomb, and then
instead of him having a resurrected body and being able
to move the stone, he was actually never.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
In the tomb.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
Roman officials would have never bothered to guard a tomb
that was not occupied, it says in Matthew Versus sixty two.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
The next day, that.

Speaker 1 (03:04):
Is, after the day of preparation, the chief priest and
the pharisees gathered before Pilot and said, Sir, we remember
how that impostor said while he was still alive, after
three days, I will rise. Therefore, order the tomb to
be made secure until the third day, lest his disciples
go and steal him away and tell the people he
has risen from the dead, and the last fraud will

(03:26):
be worse than the first. Pilot said to them, you
have a guard of soldiers, go make it as secure
as you can. So they went and made the tomb
secure by sealing the stone and setting a guard. So,
based on what we just read, the tomb was being

(03:49):
sealed by the guards because Jesus's body was in the tomb,
and out of fear that the disciples would steal his
body and then say he resurrected from the dead, they
put the guard by the tomb. The most convincing argument

(04:11):
for the empty tomb was the fact that the Romans
and high ranking Jewish officials accused Jesus's followers of stealing
the body. By making such an accusation, they.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
Confirmed they were in agreement.

Speaker 1 (04:29):
With this fact that the tomb was occupied by Jesus's
body at one time but later was not. So this
idea that the tomb was always empty makes zero sense
because one, why would there be guards in front of

(04:52):
the tomb preventing Jesus's body from being stolen, And why
would they be concerned that the disciples would have an
opportunity to steal Jesus's body if his body was never
in the two So that is more evidence of Jesus's resurrection.

(05:16):
The next evidence of Jesus's resurrection is that the women
saw Jesus resurrected first. There are theories out there from
skeptics again that say, oh, it's just a made up story,
But the Bible records that the first people to see

(05:38):
that Jesus had risen from the dead were women.

Speaker 2 (05:41):
Mark sixteen Versus nine says this.

Speaker 1 (05:44):
Now, when he rose early on the first day of
the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdaline, from whom
he had cast out seven demons. She went and told
those who had been with them as they mourned and wept.
But when they heard that he was alive and had
been seen by her.

Speaker 2 (06:02):
They would not believe it.

Speaker 1 (06:05):
The fact that the followers of Jesus claimed that the
first witness to the living Jesus were women is perhaps
surprisingly evidence that the account is actually true, because at
the time in Jewish culture, the testimony of a woman
was not highly esteemed. If the disciples had made it

(06:27):
all up and wanted to present a believable and convincing argument,
they probably would have claimed that a man, and likely
a prominent man, was the first to see Jesus. I
had a friend just the other day come up to
me and say, do you know why Jesus appeared to

(06:49):
women first after he was resurrected from the dead. Why
did Jesus appear to marry Magdalene? And his was meant
as a joke, but there is some real truth behind
what he was saying. As soon as Jesus revealed himself

(07:14):
to her, Mary Magdalene ran over to the disciples and
explained to them immediately what she saw and what she witnessed,
which is a woman thing to do. Women talk, women

(07:34):
spread things, and guys, how was.

Speaker 2 (07:39):
Your day good? What do you do? Nothing? What do
you got going on tomorrow? I don't know.

Speaker 1 (07:45):
Do you ask a woman those same questions and they'll
be on the answer to number one for about ten minutes,
which is just the truth of the batter. So why
did Jesus appear to women first? So that the news
would spread that Jesus's body was resurrected.

Speaker 2 (08:04):
If he appeared to Peter Firs, he'd probably be like, oh,
that's cool.

Speaker 1 (08:07):
He might tell his other disciple friends, but it would
not have spread as quickly.

Speaker 2 (08:13):
So he appeared to women first.

Speaker 1 (08:15):
So evidence number two is that the tomb was never empty,
because why would the soldiers be so convinced that they
needed a guard at the tomb, and why would they
be afraid that the disciples would steal the body? And

(08:35):
number three women saw Jesus's body first after it was resurrected,
And if the disciples want to present a more believable
and convincing argument, they would have claimed that it was
a man that saw Jesus' body first, but they reported

(08:55):
the truth. I hope as we go through these together
it's encouraging to you because some people, including me, are
very much information based.

Speaker 2 (09:12):
You like to see the evidence. You'd like to see
the information. There's other people that can just believe without
needing to see information where it's easy you know it.

Speaker 1 (09:24):
But there's others that like to have evidence on a
piece of paper where you can see it, you can
read it, and you can put the pieces together and say, yes,
this makes sense.

Speaker 2 (09:38):
I get it.

Speaker 1 (09:39):
So I hope as we go through these things together,
the Holy Spirit is revealing more and more about our
Lord and savior, Jesus Christ. Everyone have a great day,
and thank you for making this podcast a part of
your day.
