Bring Heaven Down number seven at gmail dot com and
I would love to discuss and take a look at
the topic that you sent my way. Bring Heaven Down
seven at gmail dot com. So during the course of
this week, I've run through evidence that proves Jesus's resurrection,

(00:50):
and I also talked about Pope Francis and how he
changed Jesus's words in the Lord Prayer and also how
people may have idolized him. So go take and listen

(01:10):
to those episodes. And there's Part one of Jesus's Resurrection
and also part two. Today we're diving into part three,
which shows evidence of Jesus's resurrection. And this is my
absolute favorite evidence of all the evidence that is available.

(01:36):
So let's do this together. Hold on tight to the
steering wheel ten and two baby or nine to three.
I personally like to hold the steering wheel at like
a seven and four, so then my risks can kind

(01:57):
of hang out on my lap at the same time.
It's just very relaxing. I'm a personal seven and four guy,
So hold on tight to this during the wherever you're
most comfortable, grab your favorite drink or a cup of coffee,
and let's bring Heaven a little closer together. So the

(02:29):
first evidence that I discussed was did Jesus really die?
You can listen to that one on part one. The
second evidence I discussed was was the tomb always empty?

Speaker 2 (02:45):
And is it a made up story? And number four.

Speaker 1 (02:52):
And the last one is the disciples sudden courage, because
let's go all the way back to the night Jesus
was arrested and Jesus was crucified and killed.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
After Jesus was.

Speaker 1 (03:12):
Arrested, the disciples fled. In Mark chapter fourteen, it says
and they left him and fled. Peter followed Jesus as
he was being questioned, and three different times people recognized

(03:32):
him as Jesus's disciple, which makes sense because Peter was
one of Jesus's closest friends and he denied him not once,
not twice, but three times like he was Lebron James
in a Miami Heat uniform. So it shows fear and

(04:00):
anxiety from Peter in this moment because he was afraid
about what would happen to him if he knew Jesus.
So he denied it three separate times, which is also
interesting because Jesus told Peter that this exact situation what happened.

(04:25):
Jesus said, you will deny me three times after the
Son of Man is given and arrested, and Peter denied that.
He's like, no, no, no, I will die before this happens.
Sure enough, a few days later, that's exactly what happened.

(04:49):
So the disciples were afraid. They witnessed these things, and
after Jesus died on the cross.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
Remember this is their guy.

Speaker 1 (05:01):
They didn't fully understand why he was there and for
the and for what purpose, but he was their guy.
He was the guy that they put their faith in.
And all of a sudden, you put yourself in the
disciples shoes, your guy, your God is dead on the cross,
and you're probably completely shaken, which the disciples were. In

(05:24):
John chapter twenty, it says that the disciples after Jesus's
death were hidden in a room with doors locked.

Speaker 2 (05:37):
Out of fear of the Jews. Why did they fear
the Jews Because they were.

Speaker 1 (05:41):
Afraid that they were next, that the Jews were going
to come hunting for them and crucify and kill them.
So they hid themselves. But what happens next is what's
so amazing. In the Gospel of Luke, it says that

(06:07):
Jesus revealed himself to the disciples, and the disciples were
so scared and so full of fear. They were startled.
They thought Jesus was a ghost. You could find this
in Luke chapter thirty six. And Jesus is like, dude, guys,
look at me. I flesh my bones. Look at this,

(06:27):
the holes in my hands, the holes in my feet.
I told you this would happen. I told you that
the Son of Man must die and he will resurrect
in three days. So why are you so surprised? And
then Luke it says the disciples were marveling. They disbelieved,

(06:47):
but for joy, And I'm like, what does that even mean?
So I needed to do some research on what that meant.
For joy, they marveled and and but they disbelieved. What
how can you have joy but also disbelieve? And what
was happening in that moment is the disciples had this
feeling of this is too good to be true. This

(07:11):
is too darn good to be true. I don't believe it,
but yet I'm so joyful, but wow, this is too
good to be true. Have you ever had a moment
like that in your life where something happened it was incredible,
and you're like, this is too good to be true,
but it was true. I think about my wedding night,

(07:35):
my wedding night, amazing Marre and my best friend. It
felt like a too good to be true moment, but
it was true. And then the next moment in my.

Speaker 2 (07:43):
Life the birth of our two kids.

Speaker 1 (07:46):
At the twenty week ultrasimme, my wife and I decided,
you know what, we're not going to find out the
gender of our babies. We are not going to see
if they're a boy or girl. So when our first
baby girl was born, after my wife did an incredible
job in labor and it was revealed to me, I

(08:12):
got to reveal to her if it was a baby
girl or a baby boy. I was overcome with emotion
and I was so emotional and crying, and I just
could not believe it that we had a baby girl
that we were now in charge of. That felt like
a too good to be true woman. And then we
get pregnant again. We passed on the reveal during the

(08:36):
twenty week ultrasound our baby's born. I see it as
a little thingy thing, you thinking, that makes him a boy,
and I am overcome with emotion again. We now have
a girl, and now we have a boy, which is
so incredible. Those feelings were the same feelings that the

(08:57):
disables are feeling. This is too good to be true,
this is amazing. I am joyful, I am marveling. But
it was true. And what's so interesting after that is
Jesus basically gave the disciples a pump up speech. Remember,
the Disciples went from scared to hiding. They were afraid

(09:25):
of the Jews that they were next. And Jesus understands
these things because Jesus knows our thoughts, so he knew
the disciples thoughts. He even questioned them, why do you
have doubts? What are you afraid of? And then Jesus
says this to the disciples in Luke chapter thirty six,

(09:48):
Versus forty four. He said, these are my words that
I spoke to you while I was still with you,
that everything written about me in the Law of Moses
and the prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.

Speaker 2 (10:01):
And then he pumps them up.

Speaker 1 (10:02):
Then he opened their minds to understand the scriptures, and
said to them this it is written that the Christ
should suffer and on the third day be risen from
the dead, and that repentance for the forgiveness of sins
should be proclaimed in his name to all nations beginning
from Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things. And behold,

(10:27):
I am sending the promise of my father upon you.
But stay in the city and tell your clothes with
the power on high. So Jesus has given them a
pump up speech to get them ready to proclaim the
gospel about Jesus's death and resurrection to the world, saying,

(10:48):
you are witnesses of these things.

Speaker 2 (10:50):
You saw what happened. You see my.

Speaker 1 (10:53):
Body, which is not a spirit or a ghost, but
you see my flesh and my bones. You see me
eating fish with you in this moment, in this room
with you. So think about the emotional rollercoaster the disciples
have been on. One Jesus's death they're scared, they're running,

(11:18):
they're discouraged. Jesus reveals himself to them and then tells
them the truth, tells them that they are the witnesses,
and they are the ones responsible for sharing and spreading
the gospel, and then the disciples would go on to

(11:42):
be bold defenders of the Christian message. The eleven that
witnessed Jesus alive, ten of them were killed for testifying
that Jesus lived, and the eleventh was exiled and imprisoned.
Do you think they're going to be killed for a lie?

(12:06):
Don't you think that eventually, as they were being killed
or about to be killed, that they would say, yeah,
you know what, I was just pulling your leg. I
would just lying, I'm just kidding. I take it all back,
spare me my life. No, they continued to pursue death
as they spread the gospel. They didn't care. They chose

(12:30):
death despite them losing their lives for sharing the good
news of Jesus. What would cause this group of scared
and discouraged men to suddenly crusade through the world sharing

(12:52):
the message of Jesus. They persisted as they faced the
choice of renouncing their message and admitting it was a
lie or giving up their lives. Peter went from lying
about knowing Jesus to being a witness of Jesus' resurrection

(13:16):
to dying because he knew Jesus and was spreading the
gospel of Jesus.

Speaker 2 (13:24):
You don't just make that up.

Speaker 1 (13:27):
You don't die for a hoax or die for a lie.
They died to spread the gospel of Jesus. And what's

(13:51):
so remarkable about that as well, is that today we
are followers of Jesus because of the good news the
disciples spread despite them losing their lives.

Speaker 2 (14:06):
So they were so convinced and their.

Speaker 1 (14:10):
Belief was so strong after Jesus revealed himself to them
that they died for the message. And we today are
still receivers of that same message. So we should be
having an attitude of gratefulness because of what the disciples

(14:33):
did following Jesus as revealed to them. Because they could
have said anything, what on lying it's not true, but
they understood the responsibility that they had. While the Holy
Spirit entered their hearts and entered their body, they gained

(14:53):
a confidence and a power that they had never felt before.
And because of Jesus and because of the disciples and
the Holy Spirit, We too receive the same salvation offered
when Jesus gave away his life on the cross. I

(15:18):
hope these evidences have been as encouraging to you as
they are to me every single year. And I hope
these messages and the devotionals are bringing you a little
closer to Jesus, because that's what we're trying to do.

Speaker 2 (15:34):
We're trying to bring heaven down.
