Speaker 1 (00:00):
Here with you five, six, six, nine zeros. The text
Slim Big Show tonight. Rick Lewis is going to join
us at six thirty. We'll ask him what the funk
is going on? Remake's just going to join us eighth five.
Of course, the NFL six pack is always big news
of the day. Rockies have fired their hitting coach after
starting three and fifteen and being one of the worst
hitting teams in Major League Baseball. Bring Clint Hurdle, who

(00:23):
was a noted hitting coach, a noted coach overall, but
a noted hitting coach in to replace him. What do
we do we think this moves the needle at all
on the Rockies?

Speaker 2 (00:35):
Are we too far into this thing with.

Speaker 1 (00:38):
A with a previous hitting coach, it was not getting
the job.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
Done we talk about. I mean, it's a long, amazing
baseball season. Yeh, one hundred and forty four games? Laugh baby, Yeah,
so yeah, this is the perfect time. I mean you
could say, could they have done it in training camp? Maybe?
But I've said this before.

Speaker 3 (00:55):
And I know I took a lot of uh got
negative negative feedback.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
I'm trying to choose my words wisely as it pertains
to this.

Speaker 3 (01:04):
I said, well, the pitching starting pitching has been great,
and when you play the Dodgers, obviously a lot of
that changed. They are the Dodgers, So I give a
little leeway to the Rockies. But yes, there's something was
inherently wrong with the Rockies at bet understanding the strike zone,

(01:25):
being able to control it. Something was wrong. Now, once
you can make this switch Ben and things continue to start,
it's down with Spiral. The next thing is holy Fire.

Speaker 4 (01:35):
Next we all know who that will.

Speaker 1 (01:40):
I love Bud Black. Yeah, there's uh, there's an old running.
Uh it's sort of joker story or whatever. It h
A new US president walks into office. Uh, and there's
there's two you know, there's the other president's leaving. He
shakes his hand and said, I let you two letters
in your desk drawer. And you know, when something goes wrong,
I want you to open the first letter and read

(02:02):
that and do what it says. And so the part
he has, uh, you know he has some kind of issues,
gotta scandal whatever. He reads it and he's like, the
letter just says, blame everything on me. So he blames
it on the guy you know before him, And it says,
if anything else goes wrong and you have a second
issue where he read the second letter and uh, he
gets to the get to the second letter, and it's

(02:23):
just psych write two letters.

Speaker 4 (02:29):
But honestly, like my grandpa used to tell joke and
it would make me laugh every time, But like, this
is not moving the needle for me as a Rockies fan.
I mean unless he's bringing the torpedo bats with him.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
Like, what are we talking about here? Well, that's like
what can you do your mead season?

Speaker 1 (02:44):
You tell you're changing guys swings at this point, you
just tell him to be more patient at the plate,
But I mean, what are we doing?

Speaker 3 (02:51):
I look at it as though you're coaching a quarterback, right,
what do you what are you seeing? Okay, here comes
the blitz. Where's your outlets? How quickly can you get
the ball out of your hands? And it's similar to
to say keep it in the realm of football a
wide receiver, right, can you see the ball off the
quarterbacks hands?

Speaker 2 (03:11):
Can you track the ball well?

Speaker 3 (03:13):
Because we're still in that window where we're still evaluating
players and the draft is next week, these are some
of the things that are being talked about around the
league as it retains the receivers and quarterbacks, and I
believe the same thing goes for guys that to play.

Speaker 2 (03:28):
And do you get a little antsy when.

Speaker 3 (03:29):
You face off against a certain picture. That's why you
know they bring in certain pitchers for lefties, right, because
here's a guy who's maybe failed well or better against
left handed batters right handed batters.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
But it's like, can you be patient?

Speaker 3 (03:44):
Or when I think about Monster who plays for the Dodgers,
he has the ability to just kind of sit in
there and wait for his pitch and get that picture
up in a pitch count, and then now you're.

Speaker 2 (03:57):
Behind an account.

Speaker 3 (03:57):
Guess what the fastball over the plate boom out of
the park. So it's now teaching the Rockies guys not
been to change all your mechanics. But what do you
this break down film? What are you seeing? Why you
find yourself constantly in these trouble spots.

Speaker 2 (04:13):
Yeah, you're not You're not changing the throwing motion.

Speaker 1 (04:15):
You're in there trying to, you know, rewire the headspace
as best you can uh to get them through at
this point. Other big news today the Nuggets and Apps
playoff series schedules are set.

Speaker 2 (04:26):
I mean, we know, we already knew who the opponents were.
Now we just know the Days. Does that Is there
anything that jumps out at you about that at all?
Or no? Not the Days don't jump out. Is just
being prepared?

Speaker 5 (04:38):
Yep?

Speaker 2 (04:38):
Are you prepared for that game one?

Speaker 3 (04:41):
And obviously were still in that window even those seams
though it had happened weeks ago. The conversation about coach Malon,
can this team really pushed through? Can they use that
momentum to get over the hurd of the LA Clippers?
Who I mean, this team came on really strong at

(05:02):
the back half of the NBA season. So this is
gonna be one of those must watch type of series.
And when you look at the West as a whole,
let's be totally honest. I mean, I'm looking at it
like almost like March Madness. It's it's so many quality
matchups that you're like, oh, this was kind of a
fine News matchup or a second round matchup.

Speaker 2 (05:23):
A lot of those matchups are happening in the first round.

Speaker 1 (05:25):
Yeah, the East feels like it's a two team race,
maybe three team race. The West feels pretty stacked. Yes,
you know, as far as that goes, it's gonna be.
That's gonna be fascinating. The Broncos had pre draft presser
today Georgia Sean.

Speaker 2 (05:37):
Payton messed with met with the media. Give you some answers.
I don't know if you get a chance to watch
any of that. Yeah, I did, and as you can see,
you have a few notes. Nick Ferguson had some fus
I'm a notes.

Speaker 3 (05:50):
Can you believe there was a coach that I had
who coached me position coach who actually.

Speaker 2 (05:55):
Find me for taking notes? He wouldn't. Yes, I mean.

Speaker 3 (06:01):
This is one of the things I learned from Georgia Tech, like,
just take meticulous notes so you can always go back, yeah,
and review them. But this one particular coach I will
not say who, I will not say with what team.
He fined me because he said I was taking too
many notes.

Speaker 1 (06:16):
Was it taken away from something else? Because I would
have appealed that find No.

Speaker 3 (06:20):
It didn't take away from anything else, because while he
was talking, I was just taking notes.

Speaker 2 (06:24):
So I can't find you for that.

Speaker 1 (06:25):
I think I think he was looking for some money
to go drinking that night, and I think he's like,
watch this.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
I'm gonna get ferg Nick Ferguson's too engaged in.

Speaker 3 (06:34):
Well to counter that to your point, Ben, when he
said he was gonna find me for taking notes findlay time,
well yeah, he.

Speaker 2 (06:41):
Kind of got me there too.

Speaker 3 (06:42):
But I also find him for being sensitive because he
kind of coined a sensitivity fine. So that meant that
anytime he said something to you and he gave you
an gregious fine and you you you made some kind
of hands jesser or you said what are you talking about?

Speaker 2 (06:57):
He considered that to be a sensitivity fine. And he
finds you three hundred dollars.

Speaker 1 (07:01):
So you hit him with the UNO reverse, Yes, I did,
and I hit him with drawing four two.

Speaker 2 (07:07):
Okay, you didn't go big guns. He to draw four.
I went skip reverse draw four. I don't think that's legal.
What you mean it's not legal? Step with double stamp.
You can't triple the stamp with doubles six six zeros
tax slide. We'll get more into the presser.

Speaker 1 (07:24):
Uh here, in just a little bit, Bill Belichick has
landed one of Dion Sanders' top twenty twenty five recruits.
So if you saw this or not sentence, it may
not seem real, but that's what happened. Uh. Today when
Adrian Wilson told on three he was transferred to North Carolina.
H Wilson was one of the best players in Colorado's
twenty twenty five recruiting class. Entered the portal Wednesday after

(07:46):
spring practice.

Speaker 2 (07:47):
Uh, it's pretty big get for the former New England
Patriots head coach.

Speaker 1 (07:50):
He's looking to remake the North Carolina roster ahead of
his first season in Chapel Hill. Wilson was a four
star recruit out of high school, ranked as the number
thirty two wide receiver in the class. He'd signed with
colorad in the December early signing period and then ruled
early with the Buffs. He's Texas native previously been a
verbal commit to Arizona State. He was not recruited by

(08:10):
North Carolina and previous head coach Mac Brown, but after
they've remade the football program, Bill Belichick's been pretty active
in the transfer portal. Tar Heels got players that had
committed other places as well a couple of Washington defenders
that obviously are familiar with Steve Belichick, so they know
what's going on there. North Carolina's seen is the favorite

(08:33):
for South Alabama's Geo Lopez, the quarterback you know, I
don't know you know, we get to see if this
thing in North Carolina work, But is it any Is
there any extra sault on the rivalry as it were
with Belichick's wipe and one from Coach Prime here?

Speaker 3 (08:48):
No, because this has become standard operating procedures in college football.
I think the only thing that makes it a big
deal because it's it's Colorado. They've been in the news
a lot, and also it's a Hall of Fame coach
and Bill Belichick. That's the only thing. But Ben, the
way I look at this, man, it is just the

(09:08):
Coach Prime effect constantly repeating itself because we had a
little weezy little Tucci. Right, if you don't know who
that is, can't help you google.

Speaker 2 (09:18):
It, well, you won't be doing the Super Bowl anyway, right.

Speaker 3 (09:22):
So yeah, loul Wayne out at the spring game for
the tar Hills, similar to what Coach Prime did his
first year. So Bill Belichick is seeing a cycle that
has been successful and he's like, you know what, I'm
not going to reinvent the will, it's rent to repeat,
and that's exactly what he was doing.

Speaker 2 (09:43):
Now.

Speaker 3 (09:45):
It would be great if somehow the tar Hills ended
up maybe next year on the Buffs schedule.

Speaker 2 (09:52):
Now, that would make things a lot more entirely. How
soon do you think that game gets scheduled?

Speaker 1 (09:57):
Like, how soon do you think they get a North
Carolina Colorado game just for the.

Speaker 2 (10:03):
Dutry? Yeah the storyline, yes, oh yeah, that would be interesting.

Speaker 3 (10:10):
I would have to say, Ben, it would be depend
on both on how well both teams do this year,
because SeeU's trying to find who's going to be their
starting quarterback and we don't know what things are going
to look like with the tar Heros. So I would say,
come twenty twenty six, that might.

Speaker 1 (10:28):
Be on the schedule. That might be something to look
forward to. It probably be tuning in for that five
six sixty nine zero olds. The text line text coming
in Profit says, if the Rockies win more than fifty
of their remaining games, I'll be shocked.

Speaker 2 (10:40):
Hashtags sell the team.

Speaker 3 (10:42):
Well, I mean, I wonder if the Rockies win more
than fifty games they.

Speaker 2 (10:47):
Actor I hope they do.

Speaker 3 (10:51):
But does that mean that maybe we can get some
kind of a bona fide rich Steak from a profit.

Speaker 2 (10:59):
Would he be willing to do?

Speaker 1 (11:00):
Well, we'll see if we can talk about it, that
we can talk them into some kind of you know,
some kind of some kind of exchange of various meats.

Speaker 2 (11:06):
Yes, maybe you want some Childe Matt. I don't know.

Speaker 1 (11:08):
Maybe chili makes good. It's good stuff. You guys will
learn one of these days. Oh let's see who else
we got here. We got to seven to twelve Rockies
pitching his dog bleep. They went three games without scoring
a run. So, yes, they're hitting is worthless. The manager
needs to go away, and if they could make some
actual baseball decisions, they could get back to five hundred
by the All Star break.

Speaker 3 (11:26):
That's extraordinary, outlook, I would say. I mean, because you
fire b Black, what does that accomplish for me?

Speaker 2 (11:35):
Nothing?

Speaker 3 (11:36):
Because who's still owning the team. Unless the front off
is decide that, you know what, enough is enough. We're
gonna put some money into our team, some quality pitching,
and we're gonna look to see what the Dodgers are
doing and try to replicate that. Until that happens, I mean,
we might as well just be throwing stuff against the
walls even.

Speaker 1 (11:52):
Stakes all, what the Dodgers are doing is just overpaying everyone.
So unless you're playing money, you.

Speaker 2 (11:56):
Know what, Hey, what do you want Bud Black to do?

Speaker 4 (11:59):
I mean, it's not like he forgot how to manage baseball,
like he's been a successful manager in the major leagues.
I mean, look at his time with the Padres. It's
not like he forgot how to coach. He just needs
some talent around them.

Speaker 1 (12:10):
The baseball is a player sport, you know, It's one
of those ones like basketball.

Speaker 2 (12:12):
It's a player sport. You know, you got to you
gotta have the guns.

Speaker 3 (12:16):
Yeah, okay, so how about how about this, since you
used that metaphor, how about being an Okay Corral?

Speaker 2 (12:23):
You got the guns but no mo? How about that?

Speaker 5 (12:27):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (12:28):
Why well, Doc and White are sitting this one out.

Speaker 1 (12:30):
Well, well, the base squad from the from the spring
leaguer in there trying to shoot the cowboys at the
ok Corral.

Speaker 2 (12:36):
Man and I said, oh, hey, guys, this is Jacob.

Speaker 1 (12:38):
With this year's draft being deep for running backs and
tight ends, could you see the Broncos double dipping at
either position? If so, what position do you believe since
they signed Ingram, I don't believe they double dip it
tit end, although I do believe the draft one running
back you could probably double dip.

Speaker 2 (12:53):
Though I could very much see something like that.

Speaker 1 (12:57):
You know, there's uh, I think there's a good possibility
that I think if you go back and look at
the history of Sean Payton, he likes certain archetypes, you know,
of running like I like this running back to do
this thing, this running back to this thing, this, et cetera.

Speaker 2 (13:08):
And I don't think they have a whole lot of
that right now.

Speaker 1 (13:10):
So I think, you know, there's plenty of opportunity to
draft more than one running back in this drafts, especially
on a team that doesn't have all that many holes
that need addressing.

Speaker 2 (13:17):
Now.

Speaker 3 (13:18):
Typically I would not suggest for anyone to double dip,
especially in somewhat of a public party setting, but in
this case double dip with the running back, that.

Speaker 6 (13:30):
Would be like a parcels question, you know. And look,
I think it's all about your vision and your visions
for the player. I think there is this feeling often
times that there are certain positions that may be more
available every offseason than others. And yet you've got you've

(13:57):
got to look at the bill and look at it.

Speaker 5 (14:03):
You know.

Speaker 6 (14:03):
I remember the selection of Reggie and how that evolved
very clearly, and Ingram, you know, our plan was to
take market at twenty two and then Cam.

Speaker 2 (14:15):
Jordan fell to us.

Speaker 6 (14:17):
We kind of still didn't want to lose track of
the Ingram thing, and then we traded back in. So
I think if you have a real clear vision for
how you want to use them, I think I think
it's just the team's feeling for how good how good

(14:38):
that player is and what type of career do you
think we can have. And then sometimes it's just.

Speaker 2 (14:48):
You know, the way the draft unfolds. Sometimes you don't
take one.

Speaker 6 (14:51):
It's not because you don't want to take one, it's
just that maybe another position, you know, landed in your lap.
So a lot of it is your team and then
the players. Specifically.

Speaker 1 (15:02):
That was Sean Payton on zoom with the media for
the pre draft presser today, and man, that was a
lot of time spent saying, hey, you know, if somebody
fell in our lap, we take them, but otherwise we're
open to everything.

Speaker 3 (15:14):
Very soon is like a huge kind of like misdirection.
You know, I'm going to get at you and confused
with my words. I'm gonna use all my words to
make you so confused that you're going to say, well,
did I answered the question or not?

Speaker 1 (15:26):
I mean, in a way he did you know, he
kind of just like when he's talking about the vision
and all that, I sort of get what he's saying.
It's just that, you know, we've got a plan and
if these players that we think are good enough happened
to be there, we'll take them. If we need to
get aggressive, you know, later, to do something else, we
can do all that. But I think the average fan
is going to listen to that sound bite and be like, wow,
that was four minutes of my life.

Speaker 2 (15:46):
I'm not getting back where he basically did not say
anything without saying anything.

Speaker 3 (15:49):
But that's that's the mastering the art of coach speak.
When you asked a certain question and you know exactly
what you want to say, that your your mouth is
competing with your brain, so you don't give anything away.
So you just kind of give tidbits and you drag
it out. There's some words follow the bounce and ball.

(16:10):
Oh he answered the question. See I consider that to
be a no answer to answer.

Speaker 2 (16:14):
Right, Yeah, he should run for he should run for
office somewhere. Let's come me tell you what those answers.

Speaker 3 (16:19):
Sitting out the Broncos press conference after coaching, I'm not
saying I know everything that he's going to say, or
any coach is gonna say, but you can read between
the lines of what he wants to say, but what
he's not going to say. And I sit there and
it's hilarious because it translates to my ears almost like
a websedictionary.

Speaker 2 (16:37):
Like, oh for you know exactly what he's not going
to say off topics. You guys see this, You guys
know what mass trams the picture major League Baseball pitch.
You're gonna bring up his glove.

Speaker 1 (16:51):
Yeah, he's basically he looks like a stunt double for
Nicholas Cage and con Air, like he looks just like
to put down the bunny. But so somebody pointed out
that he looks like Nicholas Cage, except they kept making
the National Treasure joke, like he's about to go rob
the Declaration of Independence. This year, Matt Stram has debuted
his new glove, which looks like it has.

Speaker 2 (17:13):
The Declaration of Independence on it. I don't know if
you've seen it, you've seen the pictures or not.

Speaker 1 (17:17):
I got one hare I can show you, but it
looks like the Declaration of Independence on his glove.

Speaker 2 (17:22):
Well, you to lean into the joke there that is.
That is just phenomenal.

Speaker 1 (17:27):
Grant sent me that the other day over there on
on Instagram, and I was just I sat there, I
was just wheezing laughing for like five full minutes. All Right,
that's a that's a dude leaning into it.

Speaker 2 (17:36):
I love that. Well, that's how you should do it.

Speaker 3 (17:40):
When something like that happens and there's a comparison, lean
into it, because when you don't, it seems as though
now that brings on more negative attention, because when you
do something like this, it's like, what more can you say?

Speaker 2 (17:56):
Well, you said this about.

Speaker 3 (17:57):
Me, you compare me to this person, all be a
positive negative. But I'm gonna lean into it. It's gonna
become my best friend. It's gonna be a part of
who I am. And looking at the glove itself, it
is an untraditional looking glove.

Speaker 2 (18:11):
Yeah, but because of that, I like it, Like this
is pretty sweet. Yes.

Speaker 1 (18:16):
The other thing on the headlines, Lee Corseo gonna be retiring.
He will He will be after week one coming this
coming college football season, will be retiring ninety. He will
be ninety. His pirthdase in August. He will be ninety
by the time that this this happens Leeka. Is that
gonna be I mean, it's kind of an end of
an era. Lee Corso was the Dick Vital of college
football in a lot of ways. You know, are you

(18:38):
are you going to miss Lee Corso?

Speaker 3 (18:40):
I'm not gonna say I'm going to miss him because
I don't know him personally, but when you've been a
part of something as big as College Game Day for
as long as he's been a part of it, it
is going to be emotional.

Speaker 5 (18:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (18:54):
I mean, I'm gonna tune in to watch it because
I always watch College Game Day on on Saturday, and
you can see that the group has somewhat changed, and
you knew it was kind of going in that direction
because they would have him in every now and again.
The thing that I'm going to miss the most is
Lee's energy when it came to predicting which teams were

(19:16):
going to win that day, and it became an intricate
part of college football. So it was interwoven because what
we all expected that here comes the hat.

Speaker 2 (19:26):
Which hat is going to be right? And it was
a lot of drama and intrigue.

Speaker 3 (19:30):
I'm going to miss that and I hope that ESPN
doesn't try to allow someone else to do that, because
for me, as a person that grew up watching college
game day, that would ruin it for me.

Speaker 1 (19:43):
Of course, So, of course was a college football coach
for a while Louisville in Indiana.

Speaker 2 (19:47):
He did a season at Northern Illinois, coach at Florida.

Speaker 1 (19:49):
Say right, he played a florisda Okay, okay, sare not
as a head coach anyway. He was a head coach
at Louisville from sixty nine to seventy two, head coach
of Indiana from seventy three to eighty two, head coach
Northern Illinois for a season in nineteen eighty four, seventy three,
eighty five, with six highs.

Speaker 2 (20:05):
As a head coach. He also a nun.

Speaker 1 (20:08):
Was the head coach of the Orlando Renegades in the
USFL in nineteen eighty five to instant as a professional coach.

Speaker 2 (20:14):
We'll be back. We got ricklus coming up right here
on Kae.

Speaker 1 (20:23):
Hyperbaric Chamber and Extra Crushing Granola Insider.

Speaker 2 (20:25):
Rick Luis, how you doing today?

Speaker 5 (20:28):
Well, what the funk, guys? I've got another hot tip
for you guys, if you're ready for it. Oh, bring
it on, sir, nobody's talked about this yet, but as
your cu Buff's insider, annymous sources are telling me, coach
Prime will also retire the number of incoming freshmen Juju

(20:50):
Lewis this weekend. You heard that first right here on Kiawa.

Speaker 2 (20:55):
He's great aspire before I play it down, Nick, You
know it's funny.

Speaker 1 (21:02):
There's there's quite a schism I think between alums and
fans on what to do with uh we with those
retiring numbers. I think everybody's in agreement to Travis Hunter
meany want the heisman? You know, I sort of get that.
I think the Schadur thing, though, is has got some
people kind of raising an eyebrow, especially when there's guys
who are around during the glory days that don't have
their numbers necessarily retired. Any truth to the rumor that

(21:26):
Corona is going to retire the Lime and put Rick
Lewis on the label?

Speaker 5 (21:32):
What are your sources on that, Ben, Because I wasn't
ready to reveal that yet, and you kind of jumped
the gun on me. We haven't put out a like
Corona's going to put out a big press release. You
know what you really are an insider. You come up
with this type of stuff man, that nobody else knows about,
and you kind of you kind of jumped the gun

(21:52):
on me.

Speaker 2 (21:52):
Well, it's uh, yeah, you know.

Speaker 1 (21:55):
Look, but journalism is putting out something somebody else doesn't
want out there. Everything else is public relations.

Speaker 5 (22:02):
Yeah, you know, the the number thing, I just think
it's a bad look. You know, the Buffs have only
retired four numbers in there one hundred and thirty five
year history, and they're retiring two more this weekend. Travis
Hunder obviously, you know Hesman Trophy winner, he certainly deserves it.
I'm not saying Chador Sanders doesn't deserve it, but he's

(22:25):
a guy that you would probably wait a little bit
before you retired his number. And man, you're not kidd man.
It stirred up a hornet's nest. A lot of former
great Buffs players very angry and outspoken about this, and
I've heard Dave Logan go on a ramp two days
in a row. Chad Brown's another one that's been really

(22:48):
really pissed off about this. And you know, I don't
blame him, because you know, there was football before Coach
Prime got here. Obviously they haven't been good for maybe
twenty years. But they had a heck of a good
program at one time, as we all know, late eighties
or early nineties, even into the nineties, they had a good program.

(23:09):
And you know what, they did win a national championship
with some pretty good players like big Al or former colleague.
I would say big Al is arguably probably the best
player that ever played at the University of Colorado. Still
waiting to get the series he retired. So I just
think it's a bad look. I don't know why they're

(23:29):
doing this. I don't know why they're doing this this
weekend at a spring game. And yeah, it's got a
lot of people's attention.

Speaker 3 (23:37):
Well, Rick, I don't want to exhaust our time talking
about seeing you. Ben and I would get into it,
and if you're listening, I'm going to break it all
down for you. But the one thing I want to
talk about is you brought up Dave Logan and you
had an opportunity, like every Sunday for a number of
Sundays who sit and that same booth right next to

(23:59):
him and call I mean, tell the fans what that's
been like for you to sit next to Dave and
call those games. Knowing how historic his backstory is here
in Colorado.

Speaker 5 (24:13):
Yeah, Nick, I'm sure you guys saw the documentary piece
that the Denver Broncos did. I watched it for the
first time last night, and Matt I was blown away
by it. I was so impressed with the job they did,
and I was so proud to be a part of it.
I sat down, I did a one hour interview with them,

(24:35):
and I thought they'd use about twenty seconds of it,
you know, which is kind of typical. You know, they
get way more than they're going to use. And so
I was watching it last night and I was surprised
and just really proud to be a part of this
piece on Dave Logan. You know, it's an honor and
a privilege to call NFL games number one and to

(24:57):
be able to work with somebody who is one of
your best friends and a guy that you have the
utmost respect and love for. Man, it's a blessing. You know.
It's been an incredible eight years. You know, most of
them the Broncos have lost. Last year going to the
playoffs was extra special, but to be a part of

(25:19):
that that is going to be something that the Logan
family can pass down through generations. You know, when Dave's
long gone, they'll be looking at that going, hey, this
is your this is your grandfather. Here, this is your
great grandfather. Look at this. And Nick, I noticed you
were in it too, you know that that one game
where both you and I were calling the game when

(25:40):
Dave was planning the flag. So you and I made
that segment as well, which was which is a pretty
funny segment.

Speaker 1 (25:47):
I'm I'm just off camera in that when they asked
me to They asked me to move to the left
a few more steps to get keep getting out of
the frame there. Yeah, they didn't, you know, they didn't
want that gold jacket in there anywhere. No, It's it's
a fascinny thing because I think, you know, there's a
lot of the younger crowd that simply knows Dave Logan
his voice in the Broncos. They don't know the incredible

(26:07):
history there, the fact he's drafted in Major League Baseball,
the NBA and the NFL.

Speaker 2 (26:12):
And you know, to be.

Speaker 1 (26:13):
Fair, how many of them have really had a chance
to see that that adult entertainment mustache from back in
the day.

Speaker 5 (26:20):
Yeah, you know what, I had a similar mustache in
that era. I think that was kind of the thing
back then, like everybody had that. I think Tom Selleck
may have started that on Magnum PI and then that
became a real trendy thing. And I think Dave should
grow that back every November. By the way, I beg
Dave to do a to a November where we grow

(26:43):
our stashes out, and I can't get him to do it.
He said it would take him too long. I don't
know if that's just an excuse, but I'm going to
try again this November to see if he will do it.
But yeah, when you look at this guy's life, man,
a three sport athlete drafted in three professional sports, goes
on to have a great ten year NFL career, then

(27:06):
goes on to have a thirty five year plus broadcasting
career as the voice of the Broncos Man. I mean,
I can't think of anybody I know that's had a
more impressive life than Dave Logan, you know what, And
I hope he still has a long ways to go
and we'll be doing this for a long time, because man,

(27:27):
he is a treasure. And all you sports fans here
in Colorado, I hope you appreciate him because obviously you
can't do this forever, but enjoy him and appreciate him
while you can't today as.

Speaker 3 (27:40):
A guy who you know watched Magnan p I growing
up and that bush's mustache from Tom Selleck. Granted, I
was just talking about this, you know, when you were
bringing it up that both you and Dave should grow
the mustaches.

Speaker 2 (27:56):
Out for charity.

Speaker 3 (27:58):
Do it as a charity, a way of charity, because
I know Dave loves to give back in so many
different ways.

Speaker 2 (28:03):
That could be one of those ways.

Speaker 3 (28:05):
Row your stash like row your stash for cash?

Speaker 2 (28:09):
How about that?

Speaker 5 (28:10):
Oh I love that. I'm gonna steal that stash for cash.

Speaker 2 (28:14):
That's happening.

Speaker 5 (28:14):
Yeah, I'm gonna be doing the show with Dave tomorrow afternoon.
Remind me to bring that up. I'll put him on
the spot tomorrow. See if he'll do that, because that
was a great look for him. He looks like a
total badass. Not only the stash, but he had the
mullet too. Back then.

Speaker 3 (28:33):
Oh yeah, no, wait wait wait wait, yes he didn't
double down, Oh he absolutely did.

Speaker 1 (28:37):
He looked that man definitely at that point in time,
owed one of those sports cars.

Speaker 2 (28:41):
They had like a flaming hawk on the hood. He
definitely had one of those.

Speaker 3 (28:48):
Like like like like like smoking the band.

Speaker 5 (28:51):
Yeah yeah, yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah, one of those
one of those Pontiac fier birds.

Speaker 2 (28:56):
Oh wow yeah, trans am.

Speaker 3 (29:00):
Wow, that's amakega. Make sure Ray did you bring that up?
Like bring it up to him. I'll remind you, but
make sure you give me credit for stats for cash.

Speaker 5 (29:09):
I love that, man. You might want to see chicking
copyright that we're gonna trademark on it.

Speaker 2 (29:15):
I'm gonna do that right now. Yeah, he's already on that.
He's already on there.

Speaker 1 (29:20):
Rick, we got a we got a bounce here just
a second, but any chance we can get a tooth
update from our from our dental insider Rick Lewis.

Speaker 5 (29:27):
Oh, you know what, I got the cap put in
the permanent one, the crown or whatever you call it.
This week, it turns out our dental insurance here at
I heard not so great. Uh they wouldn't allow me
to get Yeah, so no goal too.

Speaker 2 (29:45):
We were we were we're out here hoping. Yeah, I
was having I was having.

Speaker 1 (29:48):
I reached out to uh Percy Millery might know him
better as Master p see if we could get some
kind of grill going for you at that scenario. So
we've got some we got some ideas in the pipeline
here to make this work.

Speaker 2 (29:59):
And you call Paul wall Oh.

Speaker 5 (30:05):
It's always fun, Yes, sir, we appreciate it as always.

Speaker 1 (30:12):
I just got a text message during the break from
a good friend, Roby Bean, and I don't I don't
even know what to do with this.

Speaker 7 (30:22):
That apparently Dion doesn't either, but that's beside the point.
So the NFL account dove Cleman, which is not his
real name, and then the guy who used to own
that account wasn't his real name either. The guy who
runs the account now is a guy named Jonathan Skerwitz
who's a clickbait engagement farmer.

Speaker 2 (30:40):
But anyway, tweet it out and I'm quoting here.

Speaker 1 (30:46):
Powerful, which is uh, probably the most hilarious thing to
begin this this tweet with Dion Sanders says that he
has never and then he uses the word for pleasure
himself in his entire life, saying quote, and this is
a quote from Dion, I've never.

Speaker 2 (31:01):
In my life pleasured myself. God is my witness in
Jesus name.

Speaker 3 (31:05):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (31:05):
That's on the we got Time Today podcast that he
does with a Roxy Diaz, and I have so many questions.

Speaker 2 (31:15):
First of all, why, the second of all, why uh
why did you need to go public.

Speaker 1 (31:21):
With this uh admission? I don't I mean no admission,
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (31:27):
And you know, then the third how fast can we
get off this topic? Uh? Really?

Speaker 3 (31:33):
Uh fast as uh quickly as we need to be?
And uh yeah, very very interesting the text message you receive.

Speaker 2 (31:45):
Yeah, that's all I can say. Very interesting, she was
she's dying.

Speaker 1 (31:49):
Who starts off a post like that? That's you know, like,
first of all, who starts off a tweet like that?
Second of all, like how do you even find like
like who got the preview for the Dion and Roxy
Dias podcast that has that that pole quote.

Speaker 2 (32:04):
That's the one thing about the podcast that's probably the
wrong term he used right there, Yeah, pool quote.

Speaker 3 (32:12):
On the podcast, you say almost anything that you wouldn't
nor knowly say on the average airwaves, So you're able
to get away with certain things and be a little
more open and candidate than you use it.

Speaker 2 (32:25):
Do we believe in Dea Sanders on that? Because somebody
ever tells me that, I'm not believing them. When they
tell me they haven't done that themselves. Well, he is
goes prime, so maybe he has a prime.

Speaker 1 (32:36):
Time can have a totally different meeting in this context
that we don't need to go there.

Speaker 2 (32:39):
I'm just saying, is this is anybody like, like, is
this a thing? I didn't realize this for the thing?

Speaker 5 (32:45):
What?

Speaker 2 (32:46):
What? Who cares? What? Part?

Speaker 5 (32:49):
Well?

Speaker 2 (32:49):
I think we all know what part we're talking about here.
I don't think I've missed that here.

Speaker 1 (32:52):
I think what we're saying is just like, why does
it matter if he has.

Speaker 2 (32:55):
Or he hasn't, Like why are you making why are
you making that admission public?

Speaker 3 (32:59):
Because of the low news cycle and even that something
saying something like that being know from a guy who
is a very religious guy, it becomes a topic of conversation,
that's why.

Speaker 4 (33:12):
And you get the news off of retiring your son's jersey.

Speaker 2 (33:15):
Which we will get into and I'll break down later.
Maybe I don't know. I just I can't even I
can't me who has.

Speaker 1 (33:23):
Said too much about my personal life on the internet,
cannot fathom getting on the internet to to start talking
about that.

Speaker 3 (33:29):
Well, it is the internet, so anything that's liable to
happen can and often does on There it is well.

Speaker 2 (33:39):
It's a lifestyle podcast that he does, and.

Speaker 4 (33:42):
There you go, talked about parts of his life, lifestyle
specific parts.

Speaker 2 (33:46):
I guess, I don't know.

Speaker 1 (33:48):
Let's get into this Jersey retirement thing because this become
kind of a big deal.

Speaker 2 (33:50):
Let's get in that.

Speaker 1 (33:51):
We come back this segment brought to you by Jergens
Body Lotion, Brocos Country Night back after this
