added there. I mean, Sayon Jones could be a guy
who rotates in on defense by the way, behind John
frankl Myers or Zach Allen alongside Jordan Jackson, and then
h Robinson has a chance to become a little bit
of a special team sace even though the Denver's got.

I mean, really, with Jonah Ellis Anddre Tillman, Cooper Bonito,
I mean it's gonna be hard for him to see

young depth, as you know, potential traits to development and
maybe something impactful down the road.

highlighted enough.

He said, we've league, we have guys you know in house.

be able to give them those chances to be able

family connection there, I imagine that's not going to be

down there at Texas. Switching to the offensive side of
the ball. The biggest contributor out of this rookie class.
Maybe it's most diminutive in R. J. Harvey. He's short
at five eight, but don't call him small at two
hundred and five pounds. He's he's built like Karen Jones
as I look at what he could do. He could run,

he can catch Rember. The weakest dariy of his game
is probably the pass por but you know he looks
like a multi dimensional offensive chess piece.
Speaker 4 (03:46):
Yeah, I mean, I think Sean could do a little
bit of everything with him if he really wants to.
You know, you mentioned a part about pass protection and
even the pass at the game.
Speaker 3 (03:54):
I mean, you see and if you pulled up the
tape you saw you.
Speaker 4 (03:57):
See quarterback play was rough, offensive.
Speaker 3 (03:59):
Line was rough. He really was their offense.
Speaker 4 (04:02):
You talk to anyone there who's a UCF fan and
they'd say the same exact thing.

You know, I know, obviously the Broncos are still high
on Adrick Estimated from what I know, and you can
obviously touch on this if you have it, but you know,
from what I know, the Broncos want to see if
Rodrick Estimate can be that three down guy. But r J.

Harvey is a guy who they feel like can be
as well.
Speaker 4 (04:26):
So I think, really these are the two guys who
are safe at that position. I think this competition for
that third spot amongst obviously Jelil McLaughlin, Tyler Badet and
Blake Watson at this point, yeah, I.
Speaker 2 (04:37):
Think they'd like to see es Tomate be at least
the early down you know, bruiser that Sean Payton has
traditionally had. You go back and you look at guys
like mark Ingram or Latavious Marie that he's that he's
had in those are those roles he would like est
to me to be that guy.
Speaker 1 (04:51):
But he's got to be reliable, to be able to
pick up.
Speaker 2 (04:53):
Three yards or more when you when you handle the
ball and not fumble, and those are I think two
big things. A lot of people were discounting Estimate when
he was a healthy, inactive in the playoff game. But
as things have played out, you know, sometimes a second
chance opportunity just just happens to fall back into your lap,
and Estimate is going to get an opportunity with that,

You were trying to make a shine down reference there
for a moment.
Speaker 1 (05:18):
Tickets not shined down, So I know I couldn't do that.

I also like to pick up a Pat Brian.

I think everyone saw them like, oh, it's a reach.

You know, a lot of people are saying that it
doesn't make much sense there, But I mean, Ben, if
you watch the tape on him, I mean, this is
a guy who's not coming in to be wide receiver one,
but he's got the chance to be wide receiver to
this guy who runs really good routes. He's a willing blocker,
He's a high effort, high energy guy. I think he's
going to come in right away and at least compete
and push some guys a little bit. So I mean,
(05:51):
I feel like that was an underrated guy that they
added there. I mean, Sayon Jones could be a guy
who rotates in on defense by the way, behind John
frankl Myers or Zach Allen alongside Jordan Jackson, and then
h Robinson has a chance to become a little bit
of a special team sace even though the Denver's got.
Speaker 3 (06:06):
That pass rush right now.
Speaker 4 (06:07):
I mean, really, with Jonah Ellis Anddre Tillman, Cooper Bonito,
I mean it's gonna be hard for him to see
playing time on defense unless there's an injury.
Speaker 3 (06:14):
So his best chance is going to be special teams
here early on.
Speaker 4 (06:18):
I feel like they in rounds one and two they
got impact players. Rounds three through the end of it
they got I think they've got depth players. And obviously
Caleb Laura, the seventh round picks, got some really exciting
size to him.
Speaker 3 (06:29):
Can he develop into a more of a football player.
Speaker 4 (06:32):
That's what Sean Payton's coaching stat's going to be passed with.
Speaker 2 (06:35):
Yeah, fifty seven snaps since the seventh grade is not
exactly a whole lot of tape to evaluate from it.
They must see something there that they really like. You
go back and you look at some of some of
the tape on him, and you know, Grant and I were.
Speaker 1 (06:48):
Talking about Zach and I were talking about it.
Speaker 2 (06:50):
How you know the Colorado tape even where he gets
scores that touchdown, he worked that thing to the top
of the stem and used the body to box out
like a power forward, you know, and create a target
there for an easy touchdown. And bringing that to I
think the NFL like he knows how to use his size.
Speaker 1 (07:06):
I think that's gonna be a big asset for him.
Speaker 4 (07:08):
Yeah, And look, I mean what a brag it is
to say, Hey, I've only played fifty seven snaps in
my football career and I got drafted.
Speaker 3 (07:15):
That's nuts to be able to say. But uh No,
I mean he's a.
Speaker 4 (07:18):
Developmental guy, He's a projector, and I work with him
a little bit.
Speaker 3 (07:21):
I'm just excited to see, you.
Speaker 4 (07:23):
Know, how Denver gets to work. You know, obviously rookie
Mini Caamps could be next weekend. Then there's a lot
of stuff you know that goes into all that, and
there's a lot of preparation there. But ultimately for Denver,
I think the thing we need to see here is
people tempered their expectations here on this rookie class. You know,
I think maybe outside of Ja Dave Baron, I think,
you know, you can have some high expectations. But this
(07:46):
was a depth that I I mean, a draft that
I felt like was very much about addressing and adding
young depth, as you know, potential traits to development and
maybe something impactful down the road.
Speaker 1 (07:55):
Ty with Cody Roark my Life Sports, Yeah, I tend
to agree. He talked little bit about Pat Bryant.
Speaker 2 (08:00):
There you go throw the tape on him, and and
you know it wasn't somebody that had broken down a
whole lot of I've had a chance to look at a
little bit. It takes sense, and you see a guy
who I think could have been even more productive at
the collegiate level if he had had a bum for
a quarterback.
Speaker 1 (08:15):
You know, he was. He was opening quite a bit
and the moment was never too big.
Speaker 2 (08:18):
You talk about a guy three game winning catches, game
winning touchdown catches he's in this past season.
Speaker 1 (08:23):
That's that's insane. Yeah, no it is.
Speaker 4 (08:27):
And look I the Rutgers game, I pointed out on
on social media. I pointed out how there were several
mistrows apparently there was a lot of wind that day.
Speaker 2 (08:35):
Man.
Speaker 4 (08:35):
But I made a similar comment, and I got flamed
for it by Illinois fans.
Speaker 3 (08:40):
But Bryant, man, he's a baller.
Speaker 1 (08:42):
You know.
Speaker 4 (08:42):
You can obviously tell this is a guy who you know,
just puts his head down and grinds. One thing I
liked about him, I didn't see any negative body language
from him whatsoever.
Speaker 3 (08:51):
He going his quarterback was throwing balls.
Speaker 4 (08:53):
To the outside, you know where the siln is supposed
to be uncatchable. Uh.
Speaker 3 (08:57):
He never once dropped his head.
Speaker 4 (08:58):
He never demonstrated back body language anything like that. So,
I I mean I like that in employer too. I
always think that's important, you know, and we talk about
character stuff that teams look into.
Speaker 3 (09:08):
You know.
Speaker 4 (09:08):
One of the things is is like, how are you
as a teammate when things aren't going your way or
you're not getting them all the way that you should.
You know, are you hanging your head? Are you a
good team? How are you on the sideline? People get
so caught up and all the intricacies of you know, talent,
but you know, character matters so much more as well.
So I think that's something that gets that's not getting
highlighted enough.
Speaker 3 (09:29):
And I think the Broncos got a really good guy.
Speaker 4 (09:30):
I think they've got a lot of guys like that
former captain background, So I mean it's just a good
fit for Georgie Sean have been trying to build. Now
I'll say this then undrafted guys. I think I was
a little shocked about the offensive lineman that's in you know,
in the ongoing lawsuit right now.
Speaker 3 (09:45):
Literally forgot his name in my head.
Speaker 4 (09:47):
Yeah, Clay Webb, you know, I know Denver likes high
character guys, and look, maybe maybe he is, but that
situation just doesn't seem like something they bring in a
locker room.
Speaker 3 (09:55):
So we'll see. We'll see how it goes. A rooky
Mini caamp, Yeah, I.
Speaker 1 (09:59):
We'll see how that goes. I with Cody Rororick. We
got Rockies Baseball coming up the bottom of the hour
here on KOA. Was this day three? Was this the
Darren Rizzy draft?

I mean, when you look at the Q Robinson pick,
when you look at the cross Shaw pick, was this
the Darren Rizzy draft?

I think it very well could be right.

You know, you bring in a new special teams coordinator,
you lose a couple of your guys, You lose Riley
DIXIY lose Tramon Smith, and now you're hoping you can
find some core four guys.

That can develop.

You got some of those guys on the roster right now.
But yeah, ideally you want to have some young guys that.
Speaker 3 (10:32):
You know have a chance to play that well.

I mean, how many times have we seen guys play
their way up into a bigger role man, you know, like,
for example, I go back to the West League Woodyards
special teams guy, becomes the special teams captain and eventually
after a handful of years, becomes the defensive starter, you.

Know, for the franchise.
Speaker 4 (10:47):
I think that's always important. I'm trying to think of
another guy. David Brutin's one of those guys that comes
to mind there as well, Kate bou Webster.
Speaker 3 (10:55):
You know, so you need you need impact guy if
they look Special teams in a couple.
Speaker 4 (10:58):
Of games last year ended up being costly for the Broncos.
So this does seem like a little bit of an
overhaul for Darren.
Speaker 3 (11:03):
Risdey and company, and it's adding depth to a couple
of important positions I think you need defensively.
Speaker 2 (11:08):
As we look forward to, you know, getting to training camp,
there might be a few other additions here.
Speaker 5 (11:14):
You know.
Speaker 2 (11:14):
Obviously Nick Chubb's still out there. Somebody gets mentioned, Jermaine
Pratt's going to be let go. I don't think Pratt's
going to wind up here. But is there anybody out
there that you think that the Broncos should add before
you get the training camp?
Speaker 4 (11:27):
Uh? You know, I was kind of on the boat
of thinking or running back with something that they need
to do.
Speaker 3 (11:31):
But the more I sit with it, Ben I don't
think that they should. You know, I know JK. Dobblins
has been thrown out there and as a name there.
But is that something that the Broncos need to do
right now? I don't think so.
Speaker 4 (11:41):
I think they got a young running back room that's
got talented enough as is. My worry would be you
just added you know, you know, if you add a
veteran guy into that mix, now you're taking away valuable carries.
I think to see if you are have that belief
in those young guys, you give those young guys the opportunity,
you know. And Sean was talking about the NFL scouting combine.
He said, we've league, we have guys you know in house.
(12:01):
You can do some of the things we're looking for,
but we want to see it. Well, you got to
be able to give them those chances to be able
to see that exactly.
Speaker 3 (12:07):
So that's something i'd say i'd highlight a little bit here.
Speaker 2 (12:10):
Yeah, I think the same. You know, I wouldn't mind
a veteran voice in that running back room. But you're
not looking for for like, you know, a ton of
money or a ton of production out of that.
Speaker 1 (12:18):
Just it's it would be a veteran voice, to have
a veteran.
Speaker 2 (12:20):
Voice, and you know that that may not be, that
may not be something that you ultimately, you know, rush
to do. Any thoughts on potentially Courtland Sutton getting an.
Speaker 4 (12:28):
Extension or not, Yeah, I think I think you'll probably
get I mean all signs look at it's been trending that.
Speaker 3 (12:34):
But I mean, Ben, the biggest question is what is
that financial look is it twenty three million per year?
Is it twenty four or twenty five? Is it twenty two?
What's the compromise here?
Speaker 4 (12:43):
And I know they want to keep Bo's favorite weapon there,
but I don't I don't know what the deal is
going to look like and how does the impact maybe
getting deals done.
Speaker 3 (12:50):
With Zach Allen, Nick Bernido and other guys like that.
Speaker 4 (12:53):
So I think there's a lot of moving pieces, but
I think it gets done well.
Speaker 2 (12:58):
I certainly look forward to to seeing that.

I think that would make a lot of Broncos country happy. Cody,

Yeah, Breton Doyle has he has been the one bright
spot for me this year. Goodman has been surprising. Five
homers and I think fifteen RBIs. But yeah, Brenton Doyle
is a stud, which makes me think hopefully he's still
a Rocky next year.

Yeah, that's that's that's always the uh, the worry.

Yeah. Since Attella taking on Robbie Ray, as we talked
about Ray, of course, thirty one innings, pitch thirty three
strikeouts and a whip at one point four Antonio, since
Tela twenty nine innings pitch only thirteen strikeouts and a
one point eighty eight whip. This does not, you know,
the starting pitching does not look to favor the Rockies.

On the road here. But you know, like I said,
we're streaking. We got we're streaking the quad just like
well Farrel says an old school we're going streaking.

We're going street before we get out of here, call
your shot. Two Game seven's tomorrow, Do one or both
of the Denver teams win? AVS Nuggets? Who do you
have more faith in as win for sure?

Nuggets? I hope they do.

I hope they rebound from frankly some sloppy play in
that game last night. If they can rebound from that
and tighten things up, I think they have a really
good shot at advancing. And then we'll see, you know,
