(00:00):
Well, come to it Broncos Countrytonight. But with all bright, Nick
Ferguson, Grant Smith, We've gota little bit of news with Rashi Rice
the latest with him' racing corvettes andLamborghini's on the highway and getting in trouble
at nightclubs wasn't and off there's more. We'll get to that in the NFL
six Pack in the next segment.Right now, talking a little bit of
the Nuggets. Still they might getbounced by the t Wolves in this series.
Down two is pretty tough. Ionly happened five times in NFL history

(00:22):
dating back to the NBA history datingback to the seventies, So it's a
tough road. But could have energizedNuggets and angry Nuggets as it were,
be the key to trying to stealback advantage on the t Wolves home court.
I don't know, you know whatI'm gonna say, no, because

(00:43):
that was kind of the MO.Was supposed to be the MO of the
team heading into Game two, bea little more physical. We did not
see that. And what I doknow as a player and who played defensive
safety for a living, you can'tmanufacture that. No coach Malone is hoping
to inspire his team by telling them, look, when we were in the
bubble, we were not only downthree to one, not once, but

(01:07):
twice, and it was all aboutgame five. So for them, he's
preaching game three. So what canwe expect for the Nuggets in Game three?
On the road, not at home? So once again, you're hoping
to try to get the calls onthe road that you couldn't get at home.
You're hoping that the t Wolves arenapping. T Wolves haven't lost a

(01:33):
playoff game yet. They they swept, the songs are up to all on
the knugs. You're hoping they're napping. You're hoping that they are. They've
just they've they've gotten full of theirown success and they're napping because you got
to steal You would have to stealone, and you gotta steal it.
Now you have to get game three, okay, So let's set the stage.
So for the Nuggets, they're lookingat their performance in the bubble and
using that as a way to pushthem forward, maybe also losing using the

(01:57):
fact that they perform well in theprevious series in the third period and they
have started off traditionally in that sameseries against the Lakers and against Minnesota very
slow. So they're hoping to catchfire there and they started. So that's
been the nugget thing though, Likethis team does start slow and then turns
it on in the second half forwhatever reason. My thing is is that
maybe this team isn't as good aspeople think they are. Yeah, you

(02:20):
beat the Lakers in five, buttwo of those were game winners that could
have gone the other direction. Thinkabout that for a minute. Those game
winners could have gone the other direction. You know, that has always been
a thought process when any team winsa championship in any league, that because
they've already quenched their thirds with thatchampionship, you got fat and happy,

(02:44):
right that living how off the hall. That's as they would say, there's
a difference in being hungry and howyou feel after you eat Thanksgiving dinner.
Right, yes, it is,and a difference how you perform. You
can go play football, you playit before, you go play it after,
you know why, because you're fedin happy. It's right. Too
much of that trip to fan putshingthis right. And it kind of looked
like the Nuggets were playing like theylike they thought the game was going to

(03:05):
come to them. Yes, exactlyas they went off, Like I said,
okay, well Jamal Murray went threefor eighteen, I believe. So
now it was like, hey,we've been here before. When Jamal has
been out, Nicola Yoki's carried theteam, but in game two he was
unable to do that. He endedthe game of like maybe sixteen seventeen points.
So when you look around and yourbest player isn't having a great game,

(03:31):
it changes the entire demeanor of theteam. And now here is once
again Geese ad the stuff that coachMalon could use as momentum going into a
hostile environment. Nicola Jokic wins histhird MVP. So you hope that coupled

(03:51):
with the fact that what the leaguedidn't do to Jamal is now going to
give them somewhat of an advantage becausethe same crew that officiated game too,
they're not doing Game three right. So I'm not saying there's something you know,
could happen right ten to four ahead, but I wouldn't be surprised because

(04:13):
I know this is why Jamaldin getssuspended. Well, yeah, it's a
playoffs. They weren't gonna just finda star player in the playoffs, which
I think is stupid, but stilllike, you know, like I get
it, you know, from amoney perspective, I get it. The
league likes having Nicole yokicch and theNuggets. They're a draw, which is
funny because last year every what hewas saying was me the worst thing if
the Nuggets won the championship. Butthey're a draw now like you got the
three time MVP, you know,I mean, it's that's that's just what

(04:34):
it is, five six, sixtimes the text. I don't know if
you saw this yesterday, but Austinrivers On I believe it was McAfee.
I have to go back and doublecheck said that he could take thirty guys
in the NBA and drop them inthe NFL right now and they could play.
Yeah, but he said you couldn'ttake thirty guys in the NFL and

(04:54):
drop them in the NBA. AndI'll say I'll say this to start.
If you're having it, if you'rehaving a if you're saying that guys can't
make the transition from the NFL tothe NBA on skill, then I would
say that maybe you have maybe youmight have a point there. If you're
saying that guys can't make the transitionfrom the the NFL the NBA on physicality,

(05:17):
size, You're out of your mind. And there's certainly the NBA guys
aren't going to survive in the NFLon there. Just because we've seen a
couple of guys play college ball andthen turn around and play tight end in
the NFL does not mean that youcould pick thirty guys out of the league
right now put them in the NFL. See, that's one of the more
ridiculous takes I've ever heard, andI guess Austin didn't include himself in that

(05:39):
mixes being of those players to playin the NFL. Because when you look
at the NBA, the first thingyou go to is height, right,
And when you think about heighten theNFL, I mean some of the tallest
guys are going to be offensive linemenat six to eight, which will probably
power forward type, you know, body type type players. Right, So
when we look at the NFL,they're not going to be a lot of

(06:01):
guys who have that height that wouldallow them to compete and the type of
athletic because they would have to shedweight. Those offensive tackles are gonna have
to shed weight in order to gettheir verticals, because you know that's the
thing that they are encouraged to puton weight the block. But you've seen
what guy. You see what guyslike Todder Palumbus or or or Ryan Harris
look like after they lose the NFLweight, you know, they're probably more

(06:23):
in basketball shape than and could probablyplay. Yeah, they look more like
power forward in the NBA, rightright. But let's be totally honest.
We have this conversation all the timewhen we see a guy with the I
guess from in the in pass downthe court and the guy makes a bucket.
Oh man, great at sense.I mean that guy could play a
quarterback. No he can't, No, he can't. Put people have said

(06:47):
that. People are like, look, y'all, just could play a quarterback,
Like he's got insane field division,he's got an arm on him.
He still couldn't play quarterback. Iget that because once again, in the
NBA, no one's trying to tackleyou because I mean, someone get hands,
it's a foul. Right. Sofirst of all, I go to
what's the level of toughness. Now, there's some tough players in the NBA.
There's some other guys not so much. Like I think Pat Beth could

(07:10):
survive in the NFL. He's gotthe mentality, Okay, Right, So
when I was looking at a lizthat was put up and it had Dante
Devincenzo playing safety in the NFL,and I'm like, no, if anyone
can do that, I would sayPat Bebb would be a good safety or
a good corner. He got thementality because he has a mentality. Deferencenzo.

(07:30):
No, maybe a receiver, butI'm not saying that do play safety.
I mean possibly received, not safetybecause once again safety physicality. It's
not a hard nose dude. Right, Like Anthony Edwards. He could play
anywhere, right, he could possiblyplay anywhere. Yeah, Lebron James,
you put him at tight end.Tight end probably got David Boston style receiver,

(07:50):
like like Bron could. He's gotit. He would be a problem.
But that's not to say that noone would be able to tackle him.
He's not like he would be N'thear anyone like that, right?
And even Derek Henrick can be Wesaw Bryce Callahan tackled Derek Henrick. So
this whole conversation, I think PaulGeorge said it early last year that there
are more basketball players who can playfootball. Nah, fam, because I

(08:15):
know basketball players and it may seemlike I'm being biased, but basketball players
some for the most part, theythink they're like really tough and until you
have eleven guys trying to tackle you. If you think that you're Jamal murrayky
planning that you're getting, you know, clapped on by the Timberwolves, you

(08:35):
know, the deep defense. Whatdo you think would happened to you to
play offense in the league. Look, and that's what I'm getting like,
if you if you want to makeany skill argument in the terms that I
don't know that NFL guys would beable to have the skill to come play
in the NBA. Okay, I'mwilling to have that conversation with you on
that point, but the overall therest of it, absolutely not. And
you could we have a resource hereat KOA that you can ask. Dave

(08:58):
Logan was drafted by the Kings toplay basketball and drafted by the Browns to
play football. He chose football, and he'll flat out and tell you them
dudes playing baskets a different mentality. It is. But I would also add
this too, if you're looking atwhen Dave probably was drafted and you go
back to nineties and eighty basketball, that's when it was physical. It's not

(09:22):
what it is today. It is. It is not right because only a
handful of today's basketball players would havebeen able to play, and that distans
would foul. Everyone would foul outwhole game. They would have to have
a roster after the second quarter becauseeverybody would have filed out. You know,
that's kind of reminiscent of what Isaw last night when I watched the

(09:43):
Florida Panthers play the Boston Bruins. They kept going at it, and he
had so many guys with ten minutepenalty. He was like, they've run
out of people. They run outof people. So I'm saying, like,
dude, the Knicks from the nineties, Charles Oakly out of the first
quarter, the pacer Dale Davis foundin the first Now, if you wanted

(10:03):
to say that some of those playersfrom that era playing in the NFL then
and now, based on their physicalitynow, that physicality, I would say
more so yes to those guys opposedto today's NBA player. Right, and
the body type is leaner now anyway, Like I bet you Charles Oakley and
Sean Capp probably could have played inthe NFL. He has the mentality of

(10:24):
the physicality, right, yes,but you're looking around like Shan Gills,
Salidader's not playing in the NFL.No, And Charles Barkley would have been
a pulling guard, right, Justthink about it. Charles Barkley a pulling
guard and he would have loved hisjob. Full back or a pulling guard.
It sounds like that's what he wouldhave been. And that's the thing,
like, there are guys that playedin that era that I think that

(10:46):
you could, you know, havethe mentality, but that there's the reason
some guys wash out in the NFLthat that have those backgrounds. You either
have that mentality. There's a raresubset of guys that do have that mentality,
the manners who stick around for along time. And he's a rare
example a guy who's a blocking tightend who wants to block Pauny Gonzales.
You know guys like that, AntonioGates, Antonio Gates solo, it took

(11:07):
him a minute to become that blocker. But Julius Thomas washed out because he
didn't want to block and I'll tellyou that scouts in the league have it.
You know, he's a basketball guy, and it's a derogatory term they
used for dudes that aren't Topno, that's what they mean when they're saying that
they're calling you not tough enough. But most of those guys who played a
little basketball in college, most ofthose guys for the most part playing the

(11:28):
NFL played tight end, with theexception of Julius Peppers, who was just
kind of like a power forward atNorth Carolina. Right, or you can
go back Arkansas. A couple ofguys, what's his name, Marcus Monk,
Malice Monk's brother, Marcus Monk,Yes, played both football and basketball
in college. He played the receiverfor the Bears for a while. He
had Matt Jones, who played quarterbackand receiver at Arkansas. He played small

(11:52):
and power forward at Arkansas and thebasketball team, and he came to the
NFL played receiver until he get youknow, drugs ended up getting him out
out the paint. But you know, there's there's been guys that have played
both. I mean, Charlie Wardis probably the most successful example. So
he won the Heisman playing football andthen went to the NBA to play basketball
was successful at that she had.Charlie Ward is definitely one of those players

(12:15):
who could have done it. Nowanother guy who it was, Haliman,
athlete, just all around h TerrellOwens. Now now what he been able
to be like one of the toptier NBA players. No, but I
think his skill set would translate enoughwhere he would be on a roster,
maybe the sixth man or something likethat. Drew Locke was recruited to play

(12:37):
basketball at Gonzaga, you know,I mean there's another example that we got
what's his name, McCown, JoshMcCown, who was an old world basketball
player. You know I found outtoday who could hoop too? And well
Ricky No, I mean yeah hecould. Carlo Drake May Yeah hoop yeah.
So you have some guys, thoseguys that can ball. Yes.

(12:58):
And it's a thing about the withthe NFL guys is you don't really know
that they can ball, you know, in basketball that cause until you see
it versus the other way around theNBA. Were you looking at the guy
and I bet I could make abecause we look at it through a different
lens. I see Lebron James,I could make a tight end out of
him. And I don't have tosee it. I'm seeing it, you
know what I mean. Or Isee the kid from from the Final four,

(13:20):
I'm like, I could make atackle out of him. Well statej
jo h J. Yes, asyou think about Allen Adverson was a quarterback,
he was a he was an awesomequarterback. Yeah, the legends of
Alan Iverson back in the day asa quarterback, Like if you ever get
a chance to read up on someof this stuff, he was unreal.
Yeah, I mean, once again, it's played quarterback. Aaron Brooks played

(13:41):
quarterback in this right, and itwould be very difficult for a lot of
NFL players to play in NBA becausethe hype problem. Yeah, that's what
you're basically a pointer or off guard, maybe a small four depending but most
of the guys in the NFL,unless you're unless you're an offensive lineman or
like a big defensive lineman, you'reprobably the playing in the one two three.
You're not playing center, and you'reyou're not playing power forward in the

(14:03):
NFL. One thing I do know. I mean, even though a lot
of NBA players kind of chirp andtalk about the level of toughness that they
have. I mean, no,I mean I've seen guy. Look my
first year with the New York Jets, Brian Cox, we were playing against
the Patriots and one of their offensivelinemen cut him and fractured a bone or

(14:26):
literally broke the bone his leg. They had to take his helmet so he
wouldn't go back in and try toget the guys. Like the Rod Woodson
thing with you know, practly amputatinghimself to get back in the game.
You don't have basketball players doing that. You got load management. Ronnie lot
cut off his finger, That's whatit was. Sorry, Yeah, cut
off his finger to go back intotheir game. I don't see too many

(14:46):
basketball players like that. Is adifferent mentality at the end of the day.
I mean, there are plenty ofNFL guys. You just don't see
it. Like Henry Rubbs could havebeen an old World basketball player, but
I could have been an All Worldfootball player if you could have kept his
mind right. You know, possibly, but you know how many people make
decisions. But once again missed mewith this whole idea that you can put
a list of football I mean basketballplayers and they would run rough shot in

(15:09):
football. No, No, Bros. Devin fun just by the way you
see that. No, I'm justgonna put it in the six pack.
But Devin Fund is playing pro basketball? No is he? Yeah? Yeah,
People couldn't figure out if he's widereceiver, tight end nice playing basketball?
He's playing. Uh, I thinkit's in Turkey, but I have
to go back in double check. But he's playing one of those pro leagues
over there were big and he hadmad hops he did, so hey do

(15:33):
that, man. Some guys whohave those innate traits, Like for me
growing up in my hood, I'llplay basketball because I've seen too many guys
get injured. And when you're inhigh school you have aspirations playing college basketball.
There are gonna be some guys whoare jealous of you and hurt you
on purpose. Uh huh, Devinjust playing in the professional Columbia Basketball Columbia.

(15:54):
Okay, that that Turkey s heMedie somewhere. Well, here's a
cartel joke here somewhere. I'm gonnaleave off the air. We got a
six pack. We come back BroncosCountry tonight. Welcome back to it,
Broncos Country Tonight. Benjamin ol Brighten, Nick Ferguson Grant Smith here with you.
Thanks to Steve Atwater for joining usin the first hour, Randy Mueller

(16:15):
for joining us earlier as well.We had a Rocky ticket giveaway we did
earlier. It's been a fun nightso far. Let's get in the NFL
six pack. It's time for theNFL six pad. I'm gonna trade the
last year insighted insight information you can'tfind anywhere else. No. Six the
top six NFL headlines. What Boonixwill wear number ten for the Denver Broncos.

(16:40):
That's right, he will keep hisnumber in the NFL Broncos and now
today Nicks. We'll wear the numberten jersey in Denver. It's a number
he war in Oregon and in highschools the numbers Dad war. It's getting
number ten means the other two quarterbackson the roster or getting new numbers as
well. As Zach Wilson was initiallyassigned number ten when he was traded from
the Jets to the Broncos, buthe reached out to Nix and gave up
the number. Will he will wearnumber four which Jared Stidam Moore last year

(17:03):
in Denvers? Did him will wearnumber eight this season? As the previous
line out. Sproncos also announced jerseynumbers for the other draft picks, John
Ellis at fifty two, Troy Franklinsixteen, Chris Abrams drain will take Justin
Simmons old number thirty one, AredrickEstimate number thirty seven of Avale eighty one,
and nic Gar Giulio sixty six.Any numbers we care about any of
this? We care about me.No, not in the grand scheme of

(17:26):
things. But for both Niggs beingable to wear number ten, a number
that his dad wore, a numberthat he made really popular in Oregon,
to wear that same number here inBroncos country, you have to figure that
that men mean something to him andnumbers shouldn't matter as much. Did you
ever care about a number? No, I really didn't. Let me listen

(17:49):
my number. I was number sevenin high school, and when I was
at Georgia Tech. Obviously there wereother, you know, veteran guys who
were there before me. I gotstuck with number four. Now, you
don't want to see a corner outthere, We're number forty, right,
So they would see the number andhe would think, okay, well we
about to make a move on this. When and they get caught slipping,

(18:11):
well once again, it's good forBo to kind of build that kind of
foundation that he can move on becausePeyton had eighteen and John had seven,
so this could be a good launchingpoint for Bo Nicks. It's weird ceeing
Abrams drain take thirty one. Ithink for me, Justin's number it just
kind of just kind of hurts, you know, a little bit of bodies

(18:32):
not even cold. Well, thatis going to be a tough one to
deal with. And what it signifiesto Broncos fans on social media who have
been clamoring for a reuniting, ifyou will, Broncos with Justin Simmons,
that may say that, yeah, that ship had sailed. So it's going

(18:52):
to take a while for everyone tojustto that two. Speaking of numbers,
James Daniels worked out a deal withHunter tress Way for number five. The
way we'll have a new numbers,so it would be number eleven. He
has worn number five and old tenof his NFL seasons. Way made a
deal with Jayden Daniels giving his oldnumber to the number two. Roll pick
quick. I feel like there's somuch excitement around the organization. Hands down

(19:15):
the most I've ever seen, Waysaid via Zach Shelby of the team's website,
Zack Selby, excuse me. Allof the excitement is building and building
ability to feel like this is asmall part of what I can do.
Ways not giving up his number forfree, although Zach Wilson did to vote
X, he doesn't want money.Instead of coming up with a couple of
cool ideas, Way asked Daniels toconsider having fans a bit pictures while wearing
ways jersey to the team so Danielscould buy them a jersey with Way's new

(19:38):
number and a personal letter from TrussWay. The details of the squad are
still being worked out. The Wayoriginally declined to give his number right out
of the gate after the Commanders draftedDaniels, but dan Quinn general manager Adam
Peters gave Way time to think aboutit hint hint, and a decision had
to be made before Rookie Winni campthis weekend. Way has not decided on
a new number, although he hassaid it will be an odd number.

(20:00):
My son Bo, He's got afive jersey. He's also got two other
Jersey's got a thirty nine for JeremyReeves and a seventeen for Terrek Laurence.
So maybe I could collect to oneof those jerseys, he joked. Trustway,
UH is going to have a newnumber here soon. It has not
been decided what it would be forthe putter giving it up to the quarterback
new organization. That's got to bea you know, he got to be
a feel good thing, right ofcourse, when you look at the level

(20:22):
of popularity, which guy is theface of the franchise? Is not the
damn punter? And then I lovethe fact that I believe and hopefully I
get this correct. They gave himtime to think about it. Yeah,
we're gonna give you all of fiveseconds. You know what, I'm not
giving it up. I'm gonna giveyou a minute to think about that.
What that really means is I'm gonnatake him. I'm gonna let the emotions

(20:45):
settle down, and then you're gonnamove numbers exactly. Look, if you're
in a situation where like trust Wayis, you say, look, okay,
I'll give you the number and youcan have We've seen players exchange it
for you know, financial conversation. And if you don't want to do that.
You say, look, I'm gonnapick a charity. You donated to
my charity of cause or whatever, and we can move on. Yeah,

(21:07):
he's the way to do it.Yeah, we trestway changing numbers. There's
the fee because you have to buyback your old jerseys or whatever. So
I think Jane Daniels, So,Daniel, you're gonna wind up cutting the
check to buy Treussways jerseys. ThumbDaniels and then the first round draft choice.
I'm gonna take a club. Youeat that cause well they can't that
they can't, but you mean theycan work that back in at a bonus
later exactly. So it's just likethe not the waving of fines. How

(21:29):
they can't do that anymore, butyou can build that. Yea, there's
no such thing as can't, justlike the salary cap doesn't really exist.
Right three stef I'm Gilmore, hesays, I'm still focused on playing.
Just has to be the right opportunity. Well, the Panthers signaled that they
would revisit potentially signing cornerbacks to findGilmore after the draft, word of merger
earlier this week that there's been noprogress at whole Gilmore thirty three is still

(21:52):
readily available after starting all seventeen gamesfor Dallas last year, Gilmore said a
reporter Josina Anderson, and he intendsto be with a team for twenty twenty
four cent. I'm still focused onplaying. It's got to be the right
opportunity. I feel like it's theage thing with some of these teams.
If I was twenty eight, Iwould already be signed by now. At
the same time, I know thevalue that I bring. You watch the
tape. I feel like I playedwell last two years. Literally almost played
every snap last year, so I'mstay impatient while watching my son, who's

(22:15):
a wide receiver at corner, lockpeople up on the field with his defensive
skills as well. Twenty nineteen eightpDefensive Player of the Year, Gilmore recorded
thirteen passes defense with two interceptions forDallas last year. One hundred and sixty
five career games, Gilmore has thirtyone picks, one hundred and forty passes
defense, seven fourst fumbles, threefumble recoveries. It'd be interesting to see
if he winds up at Washington withhis old defensive cooridator Dan Quinn, thirty

(22:37):
three year olds toe find Gilmore stillgot a chance to play in this league.
Yeah, absolutely, And here's Iknow it's a young man's game in
which it is. Well, whathappens is that teams get an opportunity to
go through OTA's in training camp andtake a look at the guys he had
currently had won the roster. Butthe one thing that changes everything is injuries.
And we know it's a long, arderous season. Guys get injured.

(22:59):
That's when you around in the leagueand you say, okay, well we
played on Sunday, we got agame on Thursday night. What veteran particular
players out there that knows our schemethat we can bring it right away and
we can fast track him. Gilmorewould be one of those types of guys.
But I know he doesn't want towait until like week eight of the
season. But maybe week six oreven maybe earliest week four that you could

(23:21):
see him on an NFL rosters, signing a one year veteran minimum deal.
Four Police in Canada are searching fora former NFL player, Busters Screen,
who stands accused of skipping bail onbank fraud charges. Dearie Hiever reports the
Screen was granted bail on April ninth, with conditions that included wearing a GPS
ankle monitor. He did not appearfor a scheduled court dat on Monday,

(23:44):
and police posted on social media thathis ankle monitor was disconnected. Screen faces
additional charges of failure to appear incourt failure to comply with the release order.
Calladian police accused Screen of defrauding banksof more than one hundred thousand dollars
by using fraudulent checks to open accountsand then withdraw the money before the checks
cleared. Screen identified himself as aformer NFL player to those banks, Initially
facing fifteen charges, four counts offraud over five thousand, seven counts of

(24:07):
making full statements to produce money, three counts a possession of property obtained by
a crime over five thousand, andone count of possession of property obtained by
a crime over five thousand. Policebelieve the alleged scheme went on for more
than nine months before Screen was caught. Screen was a fifth Round taking the
Browns in twenty eleven. Played elevenseasons in the NFL the Browns, Jets,
Bears, and Titans, and earnedmore than forty million dollars. He

(24:29):
last played in the NFL in twentytwenty one. I don't know if you
guys remember this. When Screen wascaught, he was living in the US,
going up to Canada, opening upbank accounts with checks and then turning
around withdrawing the money before the check'sclear to pocketing the money. Now,
yeah, he's on the run forpolice in Canada. That's crazy, man.

(24:51):
Most times criminals filled as though theyhave an excellent scheme that no one's
gonna catch him, But when youreally think about it, they're not meticulous
with the details, so they openedthemselves up to be caught. As if
I want to be caught, butif you can't work out the details in
cashmel can continue to do what I'mdoing. But it's crazy to know that

(25:15):
now your freedom is now in Jeffardybecause you decided to do something of this
magnitude. You ate forty million dollarsin the NFL, and you're getting popped
by law enforcement for kiting five thousanddollars checks in Canada. That's wild money
management, ma'am, got ahead bettermoney five Antonio Pierce said, no phone

(25:38):
call, no coin flip took placeLion's rookie cornerback to Terry and Arnold made
some ways when he claimed that apodcast appearance that the Raiders coach called him
and said a coin flip determined thatLas Vegas would choose tight end brock Bowers
over him. Raiders assistant GM champKelly denied that took place on Wednesday.
Head coach Antonio Piers denied it.Today, Ryan Clark of ESPN hosted a

(25:59):
social He spoke with Pierce, whosaid that no call, no coin flip,
took place. As soon as thelast two quarterbacks went off the board.
We were Bowers all the way,Pierce said. Here's added that the
Bowers selection was ready even before LasVegas was on the clock. Whether or
not the coin flip and or adraft night phone call actually happened, it
makes complete sense of the Raider twoissues blanket denials at this point Bowers,
he's a Raider and Arnold's a Lion. So it doesn't leave that's going to
change. I will say that,I will say that I know this.

(26:25):
If brock Powers had not been there, Terry and Arnold would have been the
pick for the Raiders because they hadexpected brock Bowers to be gone, but
once he fell in their lap.I know that they were going to take
it, so I understand like whatthey're saying here that brock Powers was their
guy. He was once he wasavailable there, and that makes sense.
They did like Terry and Arnold quitea bit, and he probably would have
been the pick if ours had goneto the Jets or gone to another team

(26:47):
earlier. This idea that a coinflip and phone call thing, though,
was ridiculous. I don't know wherethis came from. It seems made up.
It does seem made up, butit is kind of like one of
those things that a pattern was speechlike. You may say that, yeah,
it is a coin flip process decidingwhether I'm gonna have vanilla bean or

(27:07):
chocolate Rocky Roll, but it's justa decision making type of metaphor. In
my opinion, I still think thatthe Raiders were looking to drive all quarterback,
and when those quarterbacks went off theboard, that's kind of what forced
their hands that they had to pickthe best player available, and Terry and

(27:29):
Arnold probably wasn't that guy who's probablyin consideration, but it's probably quarterback and
whomever else after that quarterback and thenBpa, and that was the thing their
quarterback was gone at eight, soyou know then they had to I just
fire from there six Rashi Rice.I know he teased this in the last
segment, but this gets worse andworse every time. Details are emerging regarding

(27:52):
Chiefs receiver Shee Rice, the latestlegal entanglement. Multiple media outlets have obtained
the police report now, but StephenDiala Fox four posted the key portion of
this morning the complaint. The personthe photographerer said that on sixth of May
and approximately one thirty am, hewas at Lit Kitchen and Lounge located at
six zo nine North Hardwood Street foralf a Hours party. She left shortly

(28:14):
thereafter. Clayton said that he wasdriving away from the location, but approximately
one fifty six am, the suspectwhere she Rice sent the complaint a message
on Instagram asking the plate where hewas and asked him to return back to
the clock. But said at thetime he believed the suspect wanted to hire
him to take pictures based on thatmessage, but said that as soon as
he returned back to the location,he was made aware of where Rice was

(28:36):
by other members of his entourage.Blighte said that he located Rice and that
Rice asked him to look at thecell phone at his cell phone, which
were messages sent by the Koplate andanother individual by the Instagram name, which
was redacted in the complaint. Thelate says that he was looking down at
Rice's phone when Rice punched him onthe left side of his face. Warning

(29:00):
news item regarding the police report statesthe complaint had visible swelling on one side
of his face. Now. Thismorning News article also contends that on social
media, doubt has been cast onthe narrative in the hour since the allegation
first surfaced, and that two civilianswith knowledge of the incident told the news
that verbal altercation occurred and there wasn'tphysical contact initially. In other words,
the witnesses didn't see the punch. If there was one, doesn't mean there

(29:22):
wasn't one. But if testimony wasoffered, what they would say. Of
course that won't be the barth Prosecutorsuse this to revoke Rice's bond, which
he's currently facing eight felony charges arisingfrom the late March street racing incident he
was in with his Lamborghini and Corvette. The condition of his release pending trial
include not committing assault, amongst especiallysince he's facing an aggravated assult charge already,

(29:45):
among other things. Prosecutors and dependingcase, it was said that preponderance
of evidence standard applies with this. What do we think about the police report
alleging that Rice lured this photograp forback to the club out of the guys
that he was going to be uhphotographing him, hired to photograph him,

(30:07):
and then sucker punching him as helooked at his phone. How desperate do
you have to be to get backat a person, to kind of create
a fictitious scenario only to bring themback to sucker pross them. And you
would think where the trouble, thelove of trouble, where she Rice finds
himself in. He would think thathe would try to steer clear of any

(30:27):
wrongdoing of any source. But itjust seemed as though, no, I
mean, nothing has happened to himin this case hit with the car crash,
which is stilling to happen. Butthis is wild man. You're saying,
like trouble seems to find people orwhatever, but at some point it's
you, Like, at some pointit's not trouble finding you, it's you.

(30:47):
Well, it is in these cases. Man, you want to be
Where's Waldo? As far as treasuresare, Yes, Where's Rash because it
seems to find you. And onceagain, I think about this and a
lot of these situations, and I'veseen guys over my career, either coaching
or playing, that it is thepeople, the company that they keep that

(31:10):
rules, that enables trouble. Yetand it's it's enabling because guess when think
about it, you're the only oneout of our crew that made it.
Yeah, we're living vikes. Youis the international bank of Nick Ferguson Baker
Pros. I've just say we gota bonus item here. Talked about it
on the show a little bit yesterdayin the podcast edition by One Time with
You speaking of a guy who findstrouble. The CFL suspended Toronto Organizes and

(31:33):
former Number Broncos quarterback Chad Kelly fornine regular season games following its investigation into
a lawsuit followed by filed by astrength and conditioning coach against the player and
the club. He is suspended fortheir two preseason games as well for violating
their gender based violence of policy.Kelly will be required to undergo confidential assessments
by the independent expert and mandatory counseling. Both the counseling sessions that assessment must

(31:56):
be satisfactorily complete before the CFL willeven consider res restatement. The league added
in a statement they reserved the rightto modify his discipline. Kelly, who
is thirty, was the CFL's mostoutstanding player last season after leading Toronto to
a franchise record of sixteen and twoleague best record. The Argo season ended
with a thirty eight to seventeen homeloss to eventual Great Cup champion Montreal in

(32:17):
the East Division Final. Kelly,of course, played college ball at Clemson,
then East Mississippi Community College, thenOld miss that he was missed irrelevant
taken by the Broncos, and thenhe was arrested for criminal trespassing after that
back in twenty eighteen and released anythingon Chad Kelly being suspended for basically half
the season in the CFL for whata lawsuit alleges was harassment sexual harassment of

(32:42):
a female coach man. This istough because you're not only dealing with something
based in the US, you're dealingwith something that's happening in Canada and knowing
as though Chad Kelly has little nooptions here in playing national sports like maybe
the NFL. Maybe you could playone one of the other leagues in the

(33:04):
USFL, but you don't want toruin your opportunity. Like you said,
you were the MVP of the CFLand you do something like this or it's
alleged and how it looks for theCFL as a whole, the Toronto Argonauts
organization. But sometimes, like yousaid, we're talking about Rashid Rice,
trouble seems to just find certain guysand Man, I don't know, either

(33:30):
it's the crew that you are aroundor something you've kind of manifested in your
head that you can get out anyparticular situation. I don't know if that's
the case with Chad Kelly. ObviouslyI know about the situation of the Halloween
incident or whatever. Man, butthis is just a bad look for this
kid who seemed like he was onthe right pace in the past to change

(33:54):
his life around. Yep, it'sa shame. Rocos Country to Night Roles
