Speaker 1 (00:00):
Show post Rockies edition. It's been Albright here with you
first post Bud Black era short show for the Rockies.
So we're we're off and running here. We got on
the air yesterday on KOA talk a little bit about
that and how I think you know, Bud Black. I mean,

(00:23):
it's there's a twofold thing there one. I mean, you
kind of had to make that decision because you know,
you're sort of pot committed to this team not living
up to whatever expectation you set. That said, I think
everybody almost universally is in agreement that Bud Black is

(00:44):
not the problem. Certainly, he has proven himself to be
a capable manager at multiple stops along the way. I mean,
he took the San Diego Padres to a ninety one season,
He's taken the Colorado Rockies before to a ninety one season.
Bud Black is certainly a capable manager in Major League Baseball.
But there was a quote I did yesterday. Somebody else

(01:08):
kind of riffed on that quote last night about Casey
Stangle not being able to take this team to to
the five hundred, and that's sort of that's sort of
where that's at. So you know, I I mean, on
the one hand, I get it, like you got to
do something here. You're you're an absolutely atrocious baseball team
at this point. But the problem isn't the management, at

(01:30):
least not the on field management. The problem means the
the lack of talent and the way that ownership has
dissembled a disassembled rather a competitive baseball team. You know,
back when they had guys like Cargo and Tulo and
you know, Aaron Otto, and you know that that that
team and black Man, that team was at least competitive. Uh,

(01:52):
this team is assembled is not competitive. I understand you
have sort of a youth movement, but really you've got
you know, four guys hitting two fifty or better. Uh,
and you know more people that are hitting below two
hundred and and And the pitching has not been great either.
I mean, outside of Jake Byrd, I don't think any
of these pitchers is really showing great stuff this season.
And and and you know Bird in the in the
pen has been good, but not you know, not not

(02:16):
had the opportunities. I think, you know, as far as
that goes, So, you know, the Rockies, I mean, where
do you go from here? I think you got to
I mean with all the respect to Bill Schmidt, I
think you got to you got to clean house. This
has sort of been the problem with the Colorado Rockies
and under under Montfort's ownership, is that there's almost too
much loyalty. You keep players beyond where you should. You

(02:38):
keep a front office personnel and reshuffle the deck chairs,
and this is one of those situations where that hasn't worked.
It's gotten worse, and you need to kind of you
need to find a vision, you need to find people
that can execute that vision, and you need to clean
house and put those people in there that are all
in alignment. I talk a little it up yesterday to

(03:02):
Jason Hirsh and we were talking about, you know, kind
of the Rockies farm system and everything. And I don't
think the problem has been scouting. Uh, they are able
to pick out players that are good players. The problem
has been in development. And that suggests an organizational misalignment
that guys are not getting the proper training from the

(03:23):
moment they entered the organization to the to the moment
that they get to the majors. There's there's some conflict
in that process or pipeline, and that needs to be evaluated.
That needs to be assessed. Uh and and they're gonna
have to figure that out otherwise. I mean, you're you're
a mid market team. You are. That's that's just a reality.
It's not like you're poor. I mean, the payroll has
been okay, but you've made bad investments, and you've you've

(03:46):
chased those bad investments with other bad investments. The Chris
Bryant think is bizarre to me. I have no idea,
and I said it at the time. You had two
teams that that couldn't wait to get rid of Chris Bryant,
and then you swooped in and offered money that could
have kept Nolan Aronato and allowed you to continue around him.

(04:07):
I just, you know, it's frustrating to watch because you
have the ability to make an exciting and fun and
competitive baseball team here and it just has not been
the direction for a while. The ballpark is fun, the
atmosphere is fun, which is why they continue to draw
crowds of you know, thirty five thousand plus despite being
on a historically bad trajectory. But end of the day,

(04:31):
what all said and done, if you want to continue that,
you're going to have to feel a competitive product and
they're going to have to get there. So all that
to say, I'm hoping that they clean house, and I'm
hoping that they find people good baseball people, not that
getting rid of some of these guys aren't good baseball people.
I mean, Bud Black's revered around the league, but you're

(04:54):
going to have to find people that have a vision
for this franchise and understand what it takes to do
what it is you need to do to be successful,
and it just does not feel like that's in place
right now, and you're gonna have to make some hard
decisions to get rid of people organizationally that are holding
you back, and the monforts have been reluctant to do. So.

(05:15):
I hope that if they are within the sound of
my voice on this, that they take those words to heart.
I'm not that guy. I'm not smart enough to be
that guy. I'm a you know, I'm a dummy with
a microphone, but I know enough to know enough. I've
never been a chef, but I know what bad food
tastes like. Just because I never played pro ball, I
mean I know what you know. I don't know what
bad baseball looks like. And you know there are challenges

(05:37):
to to to pitching at Corsefield. I get that, but
there are ways that you can you can work around that,
and you've got to work smarter because this isn't a
league that has a salary cap, so you're already to
disadvantage as a mid market team. You're gonna have to
work smarter to be able to make that work. And
I hope they're able to do that and pivot a
little bit here talk about the UH the member Broncos.

(06:02):
Bronco's UH mini camp was over the weekend and they
did sign some of those mini camp players. They waived
inside linebacker kJ Cloyd h tight end Thomas y Astman,
corner Kendall Bowler, and defensive tackle Christian Dowell, and that

(06:25):
made room for them to sign tight ends Cole Fartheringham
fathering Ham, excuse me, long snapper Zach Triner, which is interesting,
inside linebacker Jordan Turner, and wide receiver Kyree White. Fathering
Ham for those who UH were wondering was out there.

(06:46):
He was out there making place. This weekend certainly opens
my eye. So that was one of those things where
they were like, all right, and we gotta gotta try
and give this guy. Uh, give this guy a chance,
and so clearly the Broncos like what they saw there. Uh.
Kyrie's White's the wide receiver out of Utah State for
those wondering. Jordan Turner, linebacker at Michigan State. So uh.

(07:07):
And then the long snappers at Triner. Mitch Favoni's off
season rehab has has been a little slow, and so
I think getting another long snapper out there is just
was was probably smart, you know for them too, for
them to do so, uh, end of the day, you know,
mini camp, I guess successful. None of the pro tryouts

(07:29):
that Ian books, none of those guys you know, obviously
signed by the Broncos, but that they did do that,
and we'll see, I mean, the guys that look like
they were heading shoulders above everybody else, exactly who you'd expect.
And so I'm looking forward to seeing these guys out
there in camp, you know, about the end of July

(07:50):
uh NFL schedule week this week, and so we're starting
to get some of those leaks out out there. I think, Uh,
the one that everybody has sort of glommed onto. I

(08:11):
put a little teaser out there about the international game.
If you can figure that out. I mean, I'm not
gonna say it, you know, I'm not. Uh, I'm not.
I'm not actually embargoed on the schedule because I get
it a different way. But you know, I sort of
promised the Bronco is a favor to them. They want
to do the schedule release video and had the fun
and the anticipation and all that. So but I will say,

(08:33):
I'll give you guys a couple of little, you know,
little tidbits and and go from there. I do believe
that we're going to play on Christmas, uh well, a
Thursday night football game on Christmas, and that will probably
probably be against a hated division rival. And I believe
we are uh opening with a home game this year.

(08:56):
There are there are two potential opponents, that's there. One
would be a fantastic shootout, you know, opportunity from last year.
One would be the return of a quarterback that perhaps
the fan base hates. So I think we're gonna get
one of those two as a home opener, and we'll,

(09:18):
you know, we'll see, we'll see how that goes. So overall, though,
you know, I mean, going international, I look forward to
that kind of stuff. I just look forward to the
international travel. But some fans like it, some fans don't.
I know. One of the things I will say is
our hard working producer here, Grant Smith, has to get
up stupid early in the morning to to be able

(09:40):
to facilitate those games because it's you know, I mean,
obviously they start around seven thirty our time, but there's
seven o'clock in the morning our time. But but you know,
the broadcast is obviously much much earlier, and so you know,
for us, it's a lot of work. And then of
course working on Christmas, you know, this year, this coming year,
so that's gonna be something that that we're gonna have

(10:01):
to do. And I know there's a lot of people,
don't boo, who you gotta work on Christmas? You know whatever,
And I don't particularly care, like it doesn't bother me,
But you know, we've got a lot of guys here
they have families and they want to spend those you know,
with the spend those days with their families. Then you
don't get the opportunity to do that, you know, and
you gotta be gone all day and you know, so
I can understand the frustration of people on that. I

(10:24):
talked to one of my friends in that market earlier today,
and you know he was he was sort of saying
the same thing. He's like, I hate the Christmas Day games.
You know, let the NFL and the broadcast have have
a holiday, and you know, I get it, but the
NFL also wants to capture and you know those audiences
those days. There's a lot of money in it, so

(10:46):
you get a bit of a a forward and back
trade off, you know, as far as that stuff goes.
But I don't know, I'm fine with it on a
personal level, but I understand the people that you know
that have families and are going to have to you know,
adjust in order to you know, celebrate their holidays with

(11:08):
that kind of stuff. And uh and go from there.
Bronco's head coach Sean Payton, who knows a thing or
two about star running backs, have been a struggle to
sort of find a a workhorse over the first couple
of seasons here in Denver. I don't know if you
guys saw the pictures of new Quadzilla R J. Harvey

(11:33):
out there, but he believes he's got the talent to
rectify that issue. And you know, after a couple of
days of rookie Mini camp and and everything. He says
that he wants to be like two of the Saints
greats that played under Sean Payton, Ala Kamar and Darren
Sproles was saying, Quota definitely want to be like those guys,
like Sprolls, he went crazy with the Saints. Kamara two,
I want to be better than those guys. I'm gonna

(11:54):
work every day to get better, just to prove myself,
uh to all the vets and the coaches. I want
to make an immediate packed on this league. Sprolls made
three Pro Bowls obviously, and was selected to the twenty
ten O Decade Team. Kamara five time Pro bowler with
a eleven thousand, five hundred plus yards from scrimmage in
a career that's still going obviously, you know that's years

(12:16):
down the road type stuff to be better than them.
But his direct competition this season est May, McLaughlin, Baty
and Watson, you know, rounding out the room right now.
May had a veteran voice. Little later. We'll see, uh,
we'll see how that goes. The running operation has has
been rather middling the last two years. Jamonte Williams led
the last two years, uh as the only runner to

(12:39):
eclipse five hundred yards and he's of course now in Dallas,
so that'll be, uh be interesting to see Harvey, who's
five foot eight. Call him short, but don't call him small.
You know, kind of divides the line between the five
six Sprolls and the five to ten Kamara four four
forty ran for fourteen hundred and sixteen yards sixteen touchdowns

(13:02):
as a red shirt junior at Central Florida and followed
that up with fifteen hundred and seventy seven yards and
twenty two touchdowns as a senior this past year. He
catches a ball. Well, the Broncos had him out there,
you know, working the choice routes and they want to see,
you know, what he's capable of. For those that don't know,

(13:24):
Harvey was a red shirt quarterback back in twenty nineteen
with Virginia before traveling to Central Florida and changing positions,
and he has said that his you know, his experience
has helped benefit his vision and reading a defense, which
has been good for him. Peyton Sean Payton said they
plan to use him on all three downs, saying, quote, well,

(13:45):
he's going to play on third down, but he could
play on third down right where the tight end is
in protection opposite. There's a lot we could do relative
to really suit his strengths. If you watch his stature,
he's put together really well, and that reference is back
what I've said. He's short, but he's not small. He's
built stocky. So it'd be interesting to see the impact
that R. J. Harvey can have this year. I believe

(14:06):
he could be an immediate impact player. Believe both he
and Jatte barn can be immediate impact players. I don't
think the rest of these guys, I mean, crossh Off
probably just because by virtue of being a punter, but
I don't believe that the rest of these guys are
probably immediate high impact players. You'll rotate some of them

(14:28):
through Pat Brian will get some reps, you know, that
kind of stuff, But the rest of these guys that
the drafted and to bring it in. These these are
guys that you see something with you want to get
him some reps year one, but you're really expect the
impact from them in year two. And that's you know,
we talk about that every year. That's sort of the expectation.
If you go back and look at the guys that
were drafted. Last year, they got Troy Franklin reps, but

(14:49):
they didn't really expect him to make an impact until
this season. With Marvin Millhams when they drafted him, you know,
they got reps with him in the first year, but
they didn't expect him to start making an impact till
year two, and he did. I mean, you saw Marvin
Mimas get better every game last year. Literally, I mean
literally look at the stat lines. He got better every game.
So I think that's I think that's something to keep
in mind. You know, as we watch these players and

(15:10):
we're all excited about draft classes and all that kind
of stuff, but some some guys are meant to be
uh plugged in fairly immediately, and some guys are meant
to be you know, hey, we're going to tune this
guy up for a year and then we're gonna throw
him out there. And I think a large portion of
the class this year is probably that Kean Robinson will
contribute on special teams. But what his role is beyond that,
the scope of that, we'll have to see. Sevian Jones.

(15:32):
You know, it's a guy who probably replaces John frank
l Meyer's long term how many reps does he get
this year? You know, how does he get up to speed?
How strong is he? How's he able to do that?
That's that's the question. And then we've talked about Pat Bryant, Noo,
the guy you know, you you work into the rotation,
but probably not a guy that you're expecting more than
you know, three or four hundred yards out of if
that over the course of the season, unless you know,

(15:54):
injury happens and you're forced to to accelerate him. If
if something happens and Pat Bryant's going for you know,
six eighthundred yards, either he is on a tear and undeniable,
or something went drastically wrong in which they had to
use him a lot more than they expected. But you know,
we'll we'll see, uh, we'll see how those things shake out.
Got our eye on that, and certainly looking forward to,

(16:15):
uh to seeing, you know, at the end of the day,
how many of these rookies are able to make an impact.
I think, like I said, I think Baron and Harvey
are gonna be the impact players, and the rest of
those guys are mostly Year two contributors outside of you
Cross Shabby and the punter and stuff, so we'll see uh,
Broncos Country tonight will be back right after this post

of stuff. So you have to wait till tomorrow six

(18:27):
can win some tickets if you tune in to do that.
I want to get to news and notes around the league,
the team that's going to be playing in London before
the week before the Broncos get there. The Cleveland Browns
and Roger Goodel Jimmy Haslam met with Ohio officials today

(18:47):
about a proposed new Browns Stadium. Browns, of course, want
to build a new stadium that's adjacent to the Cleveland
Airport in brook Park, and they want to use public
money to get it done. Today, the organization and receive
some support from the Ohio state capital of Columbus, a
pretty powerful backer, Roger Goodell, showing up. Rich Exner of

(19:08):
Cleveland dot Com said Goodell joined Browns owner Jimmy Haslam
to meet with Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and other state
leaders to help secure public money. Browns have two options
currently on the table, which is renovate their current stadium
on the Cleveland lake Front or build a new domed
stadium in brook Park. Brown's preferences to move to brook Park,
which is roughly twenty minutes away from the site where

(19:29):
they played throughout their history, into different facilities, but government
officials from Cleveland, including Mayor Justin Bibb and Cuyahoga County
Executive Chris Ronane, would like the state to reject the
Browns proposal that calls for six hundred million dollars in
state funds for the proposed two point four billion dollar
Brook Park stadium, arguing that the move to the suburbs

(19:52):
would hurt downtown Cleveland Browns are also seeking an additional
six hundred million for Cuyahoga County, paired with a one
point two billion a dollar team contribution. Goodell said, all
the conversations has been incredibly positive, tremendous leadership by the governor,
leadership by the General Assembly. We think that this is
a benefit not just to brook Park, but to the
entire area, including downtown. People coming here for events will

(20:15):
be staying downtown, They'll be eating downtown. According to Exner Haslam,
Goodell and other team officials had separate meetings with the
Wine Ohio Speaker of the House, Matt Hoffman Iisle State
President Rob mccoley about funding the brook Park stadium. Goodell
noted that the new facility would clearly be Super Bowl material,
though it would have to be determined if the surrounding

(20:36):
hotel capacity and know o their needs for the net
were upped. The par Huntingdon bank Field, as it's now known,
opened in nineteen ninety nine when the Browns returned as
an expansion franchise. Goodell said, I wouldn't tell you that
the existing stadium doesn't match the standards or the qualities
that current stadiums are matching. More importantly, I think our
projects are changing from pure spit stadiums but to really

(20:59):
significant develop a ments, mixed use type of developments beyond
the stadium. It could generate significant economic impact on local communities.
The Ohio state budget for this year will be finalized
by June thirtieth, which led to the timing of the
visit by Gadell and team officials. There's a lot going
on there with that, and I think that's something for
Broncos fans to keep their eye on, as Denver is

(21:23):
kind of eyeballing new stadium situations, and I think that
the Browns playbook here, which is about a fifty percent
public money fifty percent team money stake in the stadium,
is something to sort of keep your eye on. Is
that's something that's going to come up here pretty soon
for the Dever Broncos, whether or not they're going to

(21:45):
renovate the stadium they're in, whether they're going to build
something new where they're going to build on site, on
a different site wherever. There's a lot a lot to that,
So just something to keep your eye on. I know
we don't want to sit here and be labor the
point on a Brown stadium but the reality is we
also do want to kind of keep an eye on
what's going on there because what you'll see the Denver

(22:07):
situation will be a mirroring of some of that as
the Broncos attempt to get public money for whatever it
is that they wind up doing with their stadium situation
here not to leave the state of Ohio. Trey Hendrickson
of the Bengals not participating in the Bengals voluntary off
season program as a show of displeasure over his contract.
He's training elsewhere, but showed up today to voice his

(22:29):
displeasure with the team and with head coach Zach Taylor.
Reporters are allowed to one practice a week during the
offseason program, and Henderson watched in street close before voicing
his grievances to beat reporters. After a text exchange with
head coach Zach Taylor, Taylor told Hendrickson the Bengals would
find him if he didn't show up for the mandatory
mini camp in June. Hendrickson, who is under contract for
twenty twenty five, would be subject to a sixteen four

(22:51):
hundred and fifty nine dollars fine for missing the first
day thirty two nine twenty for the second day and
for three hundred and seventy four dollars for missing the
third day, something Hendrickson was already aware of. Hendrickson Mike
Petraglios of since he dot Com said, quote, A little
bit transpired between me and Zach. We've tried to keep

(23:13):
it as least them out as personal as possible, but
at some point in the process it becomes personal. Being
sent thirty days before mandatory camp or however many days
it is that if I don't show up, I'll be
fine alludes to the fact that something won't get done
in that timeframe. With the lack of communication post draft
made it imminently clear to my party, meaning my wife,
my son, and my agent, a small group of people

(23:34):
that I informed that this might not work out. I
don't think it was necessary. I think we should have
all hoped for the best until proven otherwise. Hendrickson went
on to say other things have transpired, like the importance
of me being here in o Ta's doesn't seem to
be respected. I think I've carried a lot of respect.
I don't mean to insinuate anything about it in based character,
but that was disappointing. I think that was the word

(23:56):
of the off season. Hendrickson has made it clear he's
not going to play this season. Under his current deal,
he's scheduled to make a base salary of fifteen point
eight million, with a salary cap hit of eighteen point
six million and twenty twenty five and as with the
mandatory mini camp, Hendrickson would be subject to daily fines
for a missing training camp, but he's not thinking that
far ahead just yet. Via Kelsey Conway of the Cincinnati Inquirer,

(24:21):
Hendrickson said, I don't have a predictive analysis. I've been
hoping for the best tobout the entire process. The only
thing that alluded to fines with the text I got
yesterday from Zach, I thought this was a little early
to talk about fines personally, with how I conducted myself,
I'm incredibly humbled to talk about a potential extension. That's
the part that's disappointing. Hard work works. I'm a firm
believer in that it's disappointing, and that's it. It has

(24:43):
to be disappointing. You know, if you're Trey Hendrickson, you've
gone out and you've you put all on the line
for you know, for a couple of seasons now you've
been really the only viable piece of a of a
Bengals defense that's been frankly subpar, and you've found a
way to make it work. You know, you found a
way to if you've found a way to go out

(25:10):
there and produce despite the fact that the team has
not surrounded you with the right amount of talent. And
then you watch as the offensive side of the ball
gets rewarded, uh, and they make Jamar Chase the highest
paid non quarterback in the league. That bring back to you, Higgins,
you know, Joe Burrow, they got all that all that
money tied up and you know, in those kind of things,
and I think you're sort of saying to yourself, like, look,

(25:30):
you know, we've we've invested in the offense the last
couple of years, and we weren't able to get it done.
We need to invest on the defensive side of the ball.
I'm over here working my butt off. What the hell,
especially when you know you're producing at that level. You know,
defensive end isn't really dependent on another position. Wide receiver
is quarterback is those you know? Uh, there's the going
theory that if you've got a great quarterback. You can
make most receivers great, So why do you you know,

(25:52):
if you've got that, why are you paying both? And
so you know, you look at that as you're Trey Hendrickson. Yeah,
I'd probably feel disrespected. And then you know, he goes
on to talk about how they just instead of saying, hey,
this is on a radar or given a time frame
or anything like that, they just go out and send
him reminded that there's gonna be fines if he misses stuff. Yeah,
I probably feel uh, I probably feel disrespected too. So

(26:16):
I just you know, I think I think that's part
of it. I think for me, if it were me,
i'd be I'd be pretty upset about it. And so
I think that's one of those I think that's one
of those things where you know, as long as that

(26:37):
is still out there in the in the ether, you know,
it's it's it's a rough situation, and I don't I
don't envy, I don't embry that at all. So I
think I think Cincinnati's in a world of trouble. I

(26:59):
think that, you know, with all due respect to our
producer Grant Smith, I think that that is I don't
know how you feel the team, the way they're trying
to do it, and you know, the Bengals have been
historically cheap, They've been a cash strapped franchise. I don't
know how they're gonna get something done with Hendrickson, but
you're gonna buy low point if you're any other team,

(27:21):
because you know he can he can force his way
out of there. It'd be interesting. See. I don't think
he's a candidate for the Broncos. I just don't. I mean,
you're already struggling to figure out a way you're going
to pay Zach Allen and Nick Bonito and Courtland Sitt
and all that kind of stuff, and the biggest problem
with you know, Hendrickson is the money. So I don't
think that's a candidate for the for the Broncos in

(27:41):
any particular way. But you know, we'll see, we'll see
if they get it worked out. I just I think
that situation from the Bengals side of the house, and
I've been warned about that organization by guys that played
for him before. You know, they're they're cheap like that.
So that's something to keep your eye on. Former Broncos
wide receivers coach John Morton, it's now the OC of
the Detroit Lions for replacing Ben Johnson, who left to

(28:03):
take the head coaching job in Chicago. Wide receiver for
the Lions, Jameson Williams will have a new number for
the twenty twenty five season, and one of his coaches
is predicting new heights for him as well. Oh See.
Morton spoke to reporters today and said that the twenty
twenty two first round pick has had an unbelievable off
season and his effort has Morton predicting even bigger things

(28:24):
for a player that had fifty eight catches for one
thousand and one yards seven touchdowns last season. Morton said quote,
I'm so excited to see him this year because it's
going to be a breakout year. Let's via Colton Pouncy
of the Athletic. The Lions exercised their option on Williams
contract for the twenty twenty six season, so he's guaranteed
fifteen point four to nine to three million for this

(28:44):
his fifth NFL season, and if he breaks out in
the matter that Morton suggests, he'll be in line for
a lot more than that in terms of a long
term extension. So yeah, I think, uh, I think that's
that's fascinating. You know, as you as you come in there,
guys see things whatever. Uh. Mort went odd to talk
about how he's rarely seen the kind of speed that

(29:05):
Williams has. Of course he just saw Marvin Mims, Troy
Franklin of the course last year, so that was one
of the That's one of the things that as you
as you see this thing, you know, playing itself out,
I think, uh, it's interesting to note who the favorites
are for some of these coaches and move into new things.

(29:28):
And if you're a fantasy football player, that might be
something to keep your eye on with James Williams situation.
But you know, having that kind of speed on the
offense is uh is no joke. And they've they've got
some good players there, but you know, Williams being specifically
being tagged by his coach is as as somebody that

(29:49):
could break out. That's something to kind of raise an
eyebrow up. The Jets look like they're making a change
a potter. In a post on his Instagram account this afternoon,
Thomas Morstead said he was informed by the Jets they
are releasing him. Team made it official a short time
later on social media. Morstead was set to have a
cap number of a little more than three million dollars.
The Jets clear two point five million in space by

(30:10):
cutting him loose. Morstead spent the last two seasons with
the Jets, played for the team in twenty twenty one,
as well brief stints with the Falcons and Dolphins after
spending the first twelve years of his career with New
Orleans Saints. Morristead has a career average of forty one
point five net yards per punt. The Jets then signed
undrafted rookie Kai Kroger. He averaged forty four point six

(30:32):
yards per punt at South Carolina and joins Austin mcnamaras
the punters on the team's ninety man roster. This might
be one where the where the Broncos make a run
at it. Morse dead of course, somebody that has you know,
obviously has experience with Sean Payton, so it'll be interesting
to see if they bring him in this competition for

(30:52):
a cross shaw and you know, on the dollar amount
if they do that. But something to keep your eye
on there. As Darren Moujie, who took over in New York,
and they've decided to clear that space there. Bill Belichick
still making the news with his girlfriend. In his capacity

(31:13):
as head coach the North Carolina football program. Bill Belichick
has had two press conferences, one when he was hired
and wanted to start of spring practice. Today he's present
for the AEC spring meetings. Appearing on ESPN, Belichick was
asked about the topic of the moment, his personal and
professional relationship with twenty four year old Jordan Hudson, saying, yeah,

(31:35):
I mean that's, you know, really off to the side.
It's a personal relationship and she didn't have anything to
do with UNC football, And it might be true now
as it appears, but UNC football recently made sure that's
the case, but it's clearly not how it was. She
had sent emails to UNC staff regarding ways to minimize
the appearance and reality of nepotism and the hiring of
Steve Belichick as the program's defensive coordinator, and regarding criticism

(31:56):
of Belichick appearing in comments on UNC opat websites. Regardless
of whether she's currently involved with UNC football, Belichick himself
called a relationship both personal and professional in his statement
criticizing the false narrative his words created by the CBS
interview in which he directed him not to answer the
hard hitting question of how they met. Moving forward, it's

(32:19):
going to be interesting to see whether she doesn't or
does have involved with the program and whether that tension
that went from simmer to all out boyle will prompt
him to write a check for a million dollars and
walk away. That's what his bayot would be. Pablo Tory,
formerly ESPN now Pablo finds Out, has insisted that the
idea that Bill Belichick is is safe is is tenuous,

(32:48):
that he could be out as head coach before ever
coaching a game in North Carolina, which would be I
think an interesting development, you know, as far as that goes,
you know, I think letting your personal life bleed over
like that. And it's fascinating because Belichick is old, and

(33:08):
she's either twenty four or twenty three years old, which
would mean she was, you know, twenty or nineteen when
they met. Belichick course in his seventies, and so there's
it's kind of, you know, there's kind of an obviocity
there that that this is going to be something that's
in the spotlight, even if it has nothing to do
with with North Carolina football. And you would think that
Bill Belichick, who's been around long enough, would understand distraction

(33:31):
whether or not and how to deal with that. I mean,
he's dealt with that with players. He's insisted on no distractions,
no non football stuff. So that kind of bugs me
the way that he sort of handled this and try
to pretend like that fans and media are the problem
in wanting to know about this situation when you know,
he's the one that's out there letting her post all
this stuff on social media and you know, and whatever

(33:53):
else if they want to. You know, their personal and
private lives none of my business. But you know, you
got to understand that if you do something with the university,
it's subject to freedom of information at requests and people
are going to get them and they're going to find
out and they have so something to keep your eye on.
