Speaker 1 (00:00):
Grant Smith filling in for Benjamin Albright as you heard
him earlier today on Heaway Sports, And here with my
good buddy Zach.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
Seeger, Zach, how are you?

Speaker 3 (00:09):
Man?

Speaker 4 (00:10):
I'm doing great, Glad to be with you, Glad to
be coming off a pretty exciting Nuggets victory that has
me in much.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
Better spirits today.

Speaker 1 (00:17):
Oh me too, Man, I got to be in Ballerina
last night. The energy was off the charts, especially when
Julian Strawther.

Speaker 2 (00:25):
Was putting it down in the third quarter.

Speaker 1 (00:27):
Man, when you have eight points of the Nuggets ten
during a stretch, he did an awesome high five with
a fan when he was running back down the court.
We saw David Adelman and Jabal Murray making fun of
who was SGA when he flopped. I mean, man, what
an atmosphere to be in. And yeah, the Nuggets are rolling.

(00:47):
Before we get more into the Nuggets big game six
win last night, preview the show, a little bit, We've
got bre Mastis coming on here in a couple of
minutes to talk about the Broncos schedule and of course
a little bit about the Denver Nuggets.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
Know she's a big fan of them.

Speaker 1 (01:01):
And then we've got Rick Lewis, We're gonna ask him
what the funk he thinks about the Broncos schedule. Well,
let's start with the Denver Nuggets with a couple of
highlights courtesy of ESPN.

Speaker 5 (01:12):
Hurry for three got it out of foul chance at
a four point play for Jamal Murray.

Speaker 2 (01:20):
Great hands, Gordon.

Speaker 5 (01:21):
Got the steal a hat of Brown who stars hey
bushes spinning faceline, puts it up and end torche this
move by Nikole Jokish, humebrid swatted by Jokish ahead to Murray,
Challenge by Williams and Murray stars Fiers enternease Brother, what's

(01:42):
it on?

Speaker 2 (01:45):
Wiggins again?

Speaker 5 (01:46):
Pushing ahead the Williams Watson with a great play gets
the swat one of the elite shotblockers in the league.
S Brother takes it to the coup plus Brook with
the follow midway point of the fourth quarter, Denver Ty
to force a game seven, Jokis pulling a pass no
look to Christian Brown.

Speaker 1 (02:08):
Oh to relive the memories of last night. The Nuggets,
of course, moving on forcing a game seven and okasee
On Sunday one, nineteen, one oh seven at Ball Arena,
Last night's a lot of people calling this the Julian
Strather game. And as we said at this top of
the show, of course, he had some big moments and
fifteen points, played more minutes than he had all postseason long.

(02:30):
But I want to give it to the big trio
of Nuggets last night. Nikola Jokich twenty nine points, fourteen boards,
eight assists, Jamal Murray after being questionable with an illness
twenty five points, eight rebounds and seven assists, and Christian
brown Man he had been absent these last couple of games,
but twenty three points, eleven rebounds and five assists, the

(02:52):
first trio to record twenty points, eight rebounds, five assists
in a playoff game since nineteen sixty six.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
What an incredible stat.

Speaker 4 (03:01):
Yeah, the Bill Russell Celtics with John Havlich like a
trio of Hall of famers, I believe with Sam Jones
there is the third two. It's remarkable what this team does.
And this run is so impressive. You know, the twenty
twenty three run, of course, is for now. Hopefully this
one keeps going, but for now it's it's the better run.
They win the finals, championship and everything, but this run

(03:25):
has been I think you could argue more impressive where
they're just having to grit out every single one of
these wins against a very talented Clippers team, against an
OKC team that, what by net rating is the greatest
team in NBA history or whatever it was. You know,
five wins shy of the all time record in that regard,
and you know, with a crew that's been described as

(03:46):
yo kitchen, a bunch of dudes all s long, they're
pushing them to the brink. And it's just it is
so awesome. It makes me feel proud to be a
Nuggets fan.

Speaker 1 (03:56):
Me too, man, And it's just been it's been absolutely
incredible to watch this postseason run. You know, you look
back at the Clippers series and it was no one
was picking them in that series. They go out and
dominate Game seven, a couple of a lucky bounces, he
had the Aaron Gordon tip in, and of course, who
knows what we're gonna see from Aaron Gordon in Game seven.
He had that hamstring injury last night. Hopefully it was

(04:18):
just a little tweak and it's not something that's going
to linger. But of course they get their first full
day off of rest in this seven game series.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
But you think about the championship run that you.

Speaker 1 (04:26):
Referenced a couple of years ago, and they went I
think it was sixteen and four. Throughout the entire playoff
series run, they've already played when Sunday happens, fourteen games
in this playoff run. I just wonder how long they
can sustain the energy with not a deep bench like
they had with Bruce Brown and Jeff Green and KCP.

(04:50):
I wonder if they can keep up this energy if
they happen to move on like we both hope they
do on Sunday.

Speaker 2 (04:57):
I think it's a.

Speaker 4 (04:57):
Big concern, especially with a Minnesota team that's what played
two to five game series, so you're gonna have four
more Nuggets number the last couple of years. Also true,
I haven't beaten them once yet this season. I think
the last one you had that sixty point Jokic triple double,
it went to double overtime. So I think they're definitely
capable of hanging with that team. You close the last

(05:18):
playoff series against the Timberwolves very strong, except for that
Game seven collapse in the fourth quarter. Yeah, it's just
it's it's gonna be very, very interesting. In my opinion
if they can hang with Minnesota. But if they get
through that one, I think that Eastern series probably goes seven.
Whether it's Indiana Boston or Indiana New York, I think

(05:39):
it should be a pretty tight series and that should
hopefully even things out a bit. I also think, you know,
after Tomorrow night or the Sunday night, Jokich and Murray
will have played two more Game sevens than anyone else
in the NBA. I think that experience playing these long series.
They've had actually two playoff runs already where they back

(06:00):
to back seven game series. I hope that experience can
carry them through.

Speaker 1 (06:04):
Yeah, and that's the interesting part about game sevens. You know,
you never know what is going to happen, and a
lot of times it is that experience that helps you
get to the ultimate goal of winning that series. And
for how great OKC was this year, we saw them
collapse last year in the playoffs against the MAVs.

Speaker 2 (06:22):
And they are such a young team.

Speaker 1 (06:24):
I believe Sga is their oldest starter at twenty six
years old. It's just you think that maybe, just maybe
things are working out in the right direction for the Nuggets.
Of course, we have the Knicks and the Celtics underway,
and the Celtics without Jason Tatum after his achilles injury,
but able to win in Game five. Now they're trying

(06:44):
to pull off anotherpset in Game six at Madison Square Garden.
I think the Knicks know they have to win this
game tonight, and I agree with you. I think if
we can make it through this series, I think we
are going to beat the Timberwolves and we are going
to be favored to win the NBA Championship, which just
seems crazy to think about when three games left of

(07:05):
the regular season, we fire our head coach and GM
and now we're looking at hey, maybe we're going to
bring another championship back to Denver, no kidding.

Speaker 4 (07:14):
And you know, I think the lesson of this playoffs
has been, you know, don't look too far ahead or
too many series ahead, because you know, you get the
Thunder upset by the Nuggets, you get the Lakers upset
by the t Wolves. But it really feels like the
Western Conference Finals, whether the Thunder or the Nuggets went
on Sunday, will serve as the NBA Finals.

Speaker 2 (07:35):
I feel like neither.

Speaker 4 (07:37):
New York or Indiana can hang with Minnesota. Denver or
OKC and Boston without Tatum definitely can't hang with those squads.
So I really feel like, whether it's you know, Ant
leading Minnesota to the championship game or championship round, or
Nikola jokicch and Jamal Murray getting it done again, I
think whoever wins the Western Conference finals of course hahga

(07:59):
and chet ends up winning the NBA Finals.

Speaker 1 (08:02):
Yeah, I would agree with that holdheartedly. And I wonder
if this is if we win this series, do you
think we can remove the interim tag from David Adaman?
Do you think he's done enough if they can make
it to the Western Conference finals with the situation he
was put in, do you think that he will be
the head coach next year?

Speaker 2 (08:20):
I think he probably will be.

Speaker 4 (08:22):
I don't think the Nuggets should rush into that situation.
From all the reporting we've heard, even from you know,
Adam Marras on this very show or on KAA Sports,
talking about how much more positive everything was, how much
more positive everything was once you got Malone out of there.
I wonder how much of this turnaround is what Adamman

(08:45):
is bringing to the table, and how much of it
is Jokic taking over and just Malone kind of not
being there and messing the chemistry up.

Speaker 2 (08:53):
Yeah, that's a good point.

Speaker 1 (08:55):
Speaking of David Adelman, he had this to say postgame
speaking with the media about Jamal Murray battling through that
illness and being able to play, and then a little
preview looking ahead towards game seven.

Speaker 3 (09:07):
I had a.

Speaker 6 (09:08):
Better feeling the closer we got to the team meeting,
which was at thirty two.

Speaker 2 (09:13):
You know, he could just see in his face.

Speaker 6 (09:14):
A little more color, like he was kind of coming around,
and you know, this is like, if these guys even
a slim chance, why not try it. My worry more
so was once I knew he's gonna play, is how
long was he gonna play? And he played forty two minutes,
so he obviously was ready to roll in game seven.
You know, Nicole is such a special player. You're right,
having him on your side is so important. But beyond that,

(09:36):
the group, you know, and I'm gonna keep saying, it's
not just the wins. We've had the big wins in
the past, it's the losses, and you know, going into
this what it feels like and if they jump out
on us early that we can still sustain and if
we jump out on.

Speaker 2 (09:49):
Them early, it doesn't mean anything.

Speaker 3 (09:51):
It's a long game, so we.

Speaker 6 (09:53):
Understand that it's a process oriented thing. In a game seven,
you have to work your way through it.

Speaker 7 (09:58):
Very rarely.

Speaker 6 (09:58):
Is it like the Clipper game, you know, the first round.
If it goes that way, that'd be great. But yeah,
I just think our mentality overall mentality should help us
play in a really tough environment, give ourselves a chance
to win.

Speaker 2 (10:11):
See.

Speaker 1 (10:11):
I think David Adalman is sending the right message, and
I don't think he would be the right coach if
maybe we didn't have the Joker on our team, because
basically that gives you a second coach on the court.
And you've seen him during the huddles during this playoff run,
basically being the head coach, drawing plays up on the
white board and giving people direction, and it's not you know,

(10:32):
sometimes you see players interacting with their teammates and it
kind of falls on deaf ears. Maybe they're looking at
something else, they're getting their drinks, getting hydrated during the break,
but it seems like everyone is tuned in when nicolay
Ok speaks, and I think David Adelman is sending the
right message. Not trying to be too big of an ego,
but telling the guys, hey, we're one step at a

(10:53):
time here, we're making our way through. No one's believing
in us, but we believe in each other.

Speaker 2 (10:59):
Fully agree.

Speaker 4 (11:00):
I think it's awesome to watch and keeping them together
this late and the thing is so meaningful. These are
big moments and it's not easy to coach here. I mean,
Dagnall one Coach of the Year last season. I'm pretty
sure ye Adelman's gone at least toe to toe with him.

Speaker 2 (11:13):
I agree with that.

Speaker 1 (11:14):
And one other person that is excited as excited as
we are about this Nuggets when last night the Great
Bree Masispree, how are you this evening?

Speaker 8 (11:25):
Oh my goodness, the Great I feel like a magician
with that kind of nickname.

Speaker 1 (11:30):
I've seen you pull out some magic tricks before. First question,
before we get to the Nuggets, have you stolen any
Gothic ducks lately?

Speaker 8 (11:38):
Oh my goodness, I'm glad you asked, because.

Speaker 9 (11:42):
The overwhelming urge to scoop up this duck that I
found the other day and it had like seven little
ducklings with it. It was entirely black with a little
bit of like a cow patch on its neck, and
it was the most metal thing that I have seen
out for nature walk in my entirety of years on
this earth. So thank you for bringing that up.

Speaker 8 (12:02):
I did not steal it. That would be against all
my morals, but I sure did want to.

Speaker 1 (12:07):
If you don't understand what we're talking about, you can
always follow Bri on Instagram. She's a great follow for
all Broncos and animal related content at bri Masi's three
h three and make sure you follow us here at the.

Speaker 2 (12:19):
Station at Kowa, Colorado.

Speaker 1 (12:20):
We've been out at all the Nuggets games this playoff series,
and let's start there, Brie. What did you think about
the win last night? And how are you feeling about
Game seven on Sunday?

Speaker 9 (12:30):
Man The Nuggets only no Game sevens. They've been molded.

Speaker 8 (12:34):
By it, They've been bothed in it.

Speaker 9 (12:36):
Right. Seven of the last fifteen series of the Joke
the Jokic era have been Game seven. I feel like
they're right where they want to be. It's natural for them.
They're locked into this thrilling series with Oklahoma City Thunder.
They just came off a punch for punch battle against
the Clippers.

Speaker 8 (12:54):
I think this season is truly testament. It's been a
roller coaster.

Speaker 9 (12:58):
Now, don't get me wrong.

Speaker 8 (12:59):
Here, but it's allance and it's had no shortage of drama.

Speaker 9 (13:02):
So I think it's I think it's where they want
to be, right, It's that old adage that they have
them right where they want them and the Nuggets they're
doing all of this after purging their head coach and
their general manager, and despite this the uppeople, it's just
kept them focused.

Speaker 8 (13:18):
And I heard you're talking about Edelman.

Speaker 9 (13:19):
Right like you've got to give him his flowers for
this run as well. I want to state that every
member of this Denver Nuggets organization has stepped up in
the adversity that they're facing now. But they're defining.

Speaker 8 (13:34):
All of our expectations.

Speaker 9 (13:35):
So when you ask how excited I am, they're blowing
my mind on it.

Speaker 1 (13:41):
I love that and koa common Spirit health text line
five six six nine zero. Someone disagreeing with me from
the seven to two zero playoff experience does not matter.
You got to score more points than the other team.
TEA Wolves did not have playoff experience. That is a
bad narrative. Well, we also haven't seen the t Wolves
win a champ in ship yet, Breed, do you think

(14:01):
experience matters, especially in a game seven.

Speaker 9 (14:05):
Yeah, absolutely, because if you haven't been there, you don't
know what to expect. Yet. It's the entirety of how
experience plays into anything that you take on in this
in this lifetime, right in this ethereal plane. So all
the teams currently like this, this is a weird year
because every single team that's currently still playing, I feel

(14:27):
like they have a chance to win it all. You
can't count out any of these teams. But when you
talk about the heart and state that the Denver Nuggets
are in, they are poised because they've been there, not
only been there in tough playoff games deep into the postseason,
but they want a championship pretty recently. So you look

(14:47):
at a leader like Nikole Yokich who leads the playoffs
and points, rebounds.

Speaker 8 (14:50):
And assistance, steals, and I can.

Speaker 9 (14:52):
Go on and on and on and on. Right It's
the performances have been nothing short of Feller. However, when
he does take a little bit of a back slide,
you're seeing individuals and not.

Speaker 8 (15:02):
The common individuals you would think would step.

Speaker 9 (15:06):
Up in these series like Murray and MPJ have been
a little bit spotty, but you've got Christian Brown coming
back and kind of proving all the doubters wrong, being
able to have a playoff high, career, playoff high game
in Game six. And then you have Julian Strather absolutely
proving that the narrative that the Nuggets don't have a

(15:27):
bench absolutely wrong. So I guess it depends on who
you're really acting. I love that someone's disagreeing with you,
but I think you're spot on there, Grant, like the
experience is going to lead the Nuggets to places where
we don't even think they have any business being right now.
And don't get me wrong, I've been mad at the
Nuggets all season. The last time I was on KOA
with you.

Speaker 8 (15:47):
We got into that exact same argument.

Speaker 9 (15:49):
I'm still there, so don't get it twisted.

Speaker 1 (15:52):
Well, you mentioned Julian Strather and what a performance he
had last night. What he gave the high five to
the guy at the front row of the stay as
you could just tell how hyped he was. And I
think that was the loudest I've heard ball Arena since
that championship run.

Speaker 2 (16:05):
This is what he had to say about his performance
last night.

Speaker 7 (16:08):
I mean that's the moments that you, you know, you
dream of when he was a little kid, you know,
coming to the game, having all the guys believing, you
find jingors flass and be able to just make an
impact on the game.

Speaker 1 (16:18):
Oh, what a special moment for him, finally getting some
meaningful minutes in the playoffs. But I want to pivot
in these last couple of minutes we have with you
and talk about the Broncos schedule. Zach Seekers, as you know,
loves to talk about the Broncos. You guys have a
great podcast together. But he put up a great article
on the website called top six must watch games on

(16:38):
the Denver Broncos twenty twive twenty twenty five schedule. I
would love to know from you the game you're most
looking forward to this year.

Speaker 8 (16:49):
Yeah.

Speaker 9 (16:49):
I think it's a great question. If I overlooked the
Broncos versus the Angles on Monday Night, I think I'd
be surely a miss because Monday night football in my
life city is going to be a delight. It's going
to be peak Colorado weather. It's so early in the season,
and you know, when you guys are out there, you've
seen the ownership group has done a fantastic job at
making these games more memorable. Just from a fans perspective,

(17:12):
so selfishly, as a season ticket holder, I'm really looking
forward to what fresh pyro technics to have in the
store for us all on that Monday night.

Speaker 8 (17:20):
But from a football perspective, right Joe Burrow is going
to have to have is going to have his hands
full with.

Speaker 9 (17:25):
This newly invigorated Broncos defense. Obviously, in twenty twenty four
they were already good. They were teasing with that top
five defense, and right now I don't see how much
of the league can stand up against this defense now
that it's.

Speaker 8 (17:40):
Got the addition of Baron and you've.

Speaker 9 (17:43):
Got Usanga and Dre Greenlaw. So the idea that the
Broncos defense is already scary, now they're this scarier. I
think it's going to be Joe Burrow facing a really
commendable opponent with the mile high magic sprinkled on top.
I really want to give a honorable mention though, to
that Christmas Day matchup against the Chiefs. It's a primetime game,

(18:06):
it's got playoff implications and last year's victory over the
Kansas City chief plus that really close lot I think
it has fans eager to see if Denver can replicate
their successes. So I think that's another one that gets
my honorable recommendation label.

Speaker 2 (18:21):
I like the honorable mention.

Speaker 1 (18:22):
In this last minute we have with you, I got
to ask you your prediction for the record this season.
We've got our guys on KOA Sports they say twelve
games for Dave.

Speaker 2 (18:33):
He thinks twelve wins.

Speaker 1 (18:35):
You've got eleven from Ryan Edwards, and I hate to
agree with Benjamin Albright, but I'm in the same boat
as a wet blanket with ten wins. What are you
predicting for the Broncos this season?

Speaker 9 (18:46):
Well, I'm glad you told me what their choices were,
so I can.

Speaker 8 (18:49):
Pick the right side of evil here. I think the
goal here has to be ten and seven.

Speaker 9 (18:55):
You can't regress away from what the tone was that
you set last year. Right, You've got Sean Payton, Hitt
his stride Bonix, who could very easily kind of gloss
over any sophomore slump concerns that we have. I already
talked about the beeftup defense. So I want to I
want to be on the right side of history here.
I'm going to say, eleven eleven wins.

Speaker 8 (19:14):
For this team sounds like a way too.

Speaker 9 (19:17):
Early record prediction. I'm happy to put my name on
I love it.

Speaker 2 (19:21):
Now I've got to change my prediction.

Speaker 4 (19:22):
I've I can't sit here Agreen with preemsis.

Speaker 2 (19:28):
Zach' always ready to throw at a cheap shot at Bri?

Speaker 9 (19:32):
You know what is that about?

Speaker 3 (19:34):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (19:34):
Save that for the Let's Talk Broncos pod sack.

Speaker 4 (19:37):
Hey, I gotta I gotta take advantage of the distance,
the soundproof glass protecting me, the key card security layers.

Speaker 2 (19:44):
I gotta talk crap to bris while I'm protected.

Speaker 9 (19:47):
That's fair that so grant, I'm gonna pull up. You're
going to let me in?

Speaker 2 (19:51):
How about that deal?

Speaker 1 (19:52):
I would love to see you take down seekers as
long as none of that anger is directed towards me.
We both know that you are tougher than either of us. So, Bri,
thank you so much for the time tonight. Have a
great weekend, and let's go Nuggets on Sunday.

Speaker 9 (20:05):
Yeah, let's go Nugget.

Speaker 8 (20:06):
Thank you guys so much having gret earth of your weekend.

Speaker 2 (20:08):
Thanks Brie. That's Bree Masis.

Speaker 1 (20:10):
You can find her on the Let's Talk Broncos podcast
as well.

Speaker 2 (20:12):
As filling in here from time to time.

Speaker 1 (20:15):
When we come back, we are going to be joined
by the legendary Rick Lewis. Dive a little deeper into
this Broncos schedule and get his predictions for the upcoming season.
That's next on Broncos Country to Night on KOA A
fifty am ninety four to one FM. Before we get
to him, Benjamin Albright, he's usually sitting in this chair.

Speaker 2 (20:36):
I'm Grant Smith filling in for him.

Speaker 1 (20:38):
Just send us a text from Shams says Denver Nuggets
forward Aaron Gordon has been diagnosed with a left hamstring
strain and his status is in doubt for Game seven
against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Speaker 2 (20:50):
Sources tel ESPN.

Speaker 1 (20:52):
That is a huge development heading into Game seven on Sunday.

Speaker 2 (20:57):
What the funk?

Speaker 9 (20:57):
Rick?

Speaker 2 (20:58):
Do you think this hurts the chance?

Speaker 1 (21:00):
It says for the Nuggets to win Game seven, and
OKC certainly.

Speaker 3 (21:03):
Going to make it difficult for the Nuggets if he
can't go, or even if he does try to play
with a hammy.

Speaker 7 (21:11):
It didn't look good when he suffered that injury.

Speaker 3 (21:15):
Man. Yeah, the Game seven is going to be tough anyway,
going into OKC giinst a very talented team. I think
their chances probably just went down a bit to win
that basketball game with the Aaron Gordon injury. I hope not,
but if I had to predict, I would say it's
going to make it much tougher.

Speaker 7 (21:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (21:35):
He is the heart and soul of this Nuggets team,
and many people call him mister Nugget, and we've heard
nikolae Okitch rave on and on about how important he
is to this roster. So that will certainly be a
big hit. But I know ag if he's able to
give it a go, he certainly will pivoting to the Broncos.
Because you are our color analysts here at KOA for
the Denver Broncos Radio network, we had our schedule release

(21:59):
show on Wednesday. What do you think of the Broncos schedule?
How are you feeling about it head end of year
two with b Nicks at quarterback.

Speaker 3 (22:07):
I think it's a really good schedule, Grant, I believe
the Broncos have a better team this year, but a
tougher schedule than they had last year. When you look
at this, they're going to run the gauntlets pretty early
in the season on the road against the Chargers Monday
night against the Bengals, on.

Speaker 7 (22:27):
The road against the Eagles.

Speaker 3 (22:29):
And then you fly all the way to London to
play the New York Jets. Now, the Jets I don't
think are much of a threat, but when you're flying
that far, when you're traveling that far, anything can happen.

Speaker 7 (22:41):
We know that.

Speaker 3 (22:43):
And then instead of a bye week after they come
back home and play the Giants and the Cowboys.

Speaker 7 (22:48):
So I think this.

Speaker 3 (22:49):
Is a really interesting schedule that will be more challenging
of the Broncos up to the task.

Speaker 7 (22:56):
I think they will be.

Speaker 3 (22:58):
I think this team is certainly paper is better, and
if bo Nicks doesn't take a step back and continues
to make progress, it's going to be a really fun
football season coming up. I think the game I'm most
excited about is that game in London, just because the
game's in London. Yeah, yeah, I'm not so worried about
the Jets. But it's so cool man to play a

(23:21):
game overseas. We had the London game a couple of
years ago, and Grant you should come out as my
personal assistant. I'll pay you in unlimited tea and crumpets
and throw in some Guinness too. Why did you talk
to management let them know I'm taking care of you.

Speaker 7 (23:37):
All they have to do is fly you out.

Speaker 2 (23:39):
That sounds like a deal. I think we get.

Speaker 1 (23:40):
We're training Zach Seekers to do my job of running
the board for the Broncos games.

Speaker 2 (23:45):
This year by week seven. Maybe we could make that
a real possibility.

Speaker 1 (23:48):
I've never been to England or the UK, so I
would love to do that, and I may take you
up on that offer.

Speaker 7 (23:56):
You know what, that would be great. Man in London
is such a cool city, very diverse, really clean.

Speaker 3 (24:05):
You know.

Speaker 7 (24:05):
It was interesting when we were there.

Speaker 3 (24:06):
We didn't see one homeless personally in this big city.

Speaker 7 (24:11):
People get dressed up. You know.

Speaker 3 (24:13):
Here here in the States we dress it down. They
dress up pretty much for everything they do there in London.
I found it quite interesting. The people were great there.
It's a really in the history there, of course, in
the music history grant, you know, all those British bands
that came out of there. So that's why I'm looking

(24:34):
forward to that. The game not not quite so much.
But when you look at the schedule, there's so many
good games on the schedule. That Monday night game against
the Bengals with Joe Burrow, who to me is the best.

Speaker 7 (24:48):
Quarterback in the NFL.

Speaker 2 (24:51):
Talking to me, I love it.

Speaker 7 (24:54):
I know, man, I thought you would like that.

Speaker 3 (24:57):
I do think he's better than than Mahomes and he's
a tough out anytime you play healthy Joe Burrow in
the Bengals and then of course the Eagles on.

Speaker 7 (25:09):
The road super Bowl champs. We played there early on.

Speaker 3 (25:16):
In my run as the Broncos color analyst in that
city once again, really cool, a lot of history and
Eagles fans. Man, there's nobody better than Eagles fans. The
way they get after the opposing team. It's really fun
to watch. Very aggressive. Aggressive would be an understated, you know.

(25:39):
And that's a tough crowd out there in Philly, which
makes the game even more fun. And hopefully the Broncos
will give.

Speaker 7 (25:46):
Him a game.

Speaker 3 (25:47):
So that's another one that I'm taking a look at.
Here's one that probably nobody's really looking at. My grandson,
who's six years old, huge Broncos fan. He's already been
to several games. He wears enough of the Broncos gear
every day. I saw him last week or two weeks ago,

(26:08):
and it was just me and him. He was kind
of nervous. He goes, Papa, can I tell you something?

Speaker 7 (26:13):
I said, sure, we want to tell me?

Speaker 3 (26:15):
Takes a teep breath. Well, the Broncos aren't my favorite
team anymore. What I'm like, Well, who's your favorite team?
He said to Jacksonville Jaguars. I said, because of Travis Hunder.
He said, yeah, Travis Hunder. He said, well, I'm still
going to root for the Broncos, Papa. They're my second
favorite team. So he's got that game circled. And it

(26:36):
looks like my daughter and son in law are going
to take him to that game, so that'll be cool
for him.

Speaker 2 (26:41):
That's awesome.

Speaker 1 (26:42):
And Zach Seegers has a great article up on our
website the top six must watch games on the Denver
Broncos twenty twenty five schedule, and that went against the
Bengals certainly on there, and man, I'm excited for that game.
Of course, We've got maybe the return of Russell Wilson
against the Broncos and Week seven, and I do think
it's strange they're not getting to buy after that trip

(27:04):
to London. But an interesting stat I saw today the
Broncos are favored in twelve games this year this is
compared to being favored in two games last year. How
do you think Sean Payton and specifically Bo Knicks handle
not being able to surprise teams this year but people
are expecting them to be a contender. How do you

(27:24):
think that changes the philosophy and the coaching of Sean
Payton this year?

Speaker 3 (27:29):
Yeah, that's gonna be tougher. It's you know, the Broncos
are on everybody's radar now because bow Nicks had such
a great rookie year. And that's why I said earlier.
Hopefully Bo doesn't take a step back. You know, if
Bo can even just play up to the level he
did last year, but hopefully a little bit better, I
think the Broncos have a good shot of winning eleven games.

(27:52):
And Sean Payton, then, let's face it.

Speaker 7 (27:55):
The guy can coach. Yeah, he heard this team around
so fast.

Speaker 3 (28:00):
This team was just mired in losing, and that Sean
Payton comes in, changing the culture in one season and
they go on that run last year, I don't think
anybody thought they'd be a playoff team. So I think
Sean Payton will just be Sean Payton. He's a pretty
aggressive coach and I don't think he's lacking for confidence.

(28:22):
He seems to have plenty of confidence to go around.

Speaker 7 (28:25):
Yes, it's gonna be fun, man. Here's another game.

Speaker 3 (28:30):
I want to mention the game in Washington, because you're
gonna have two of the best young quarterbacks in the
NFL and Jane Daniels and Bonnicks going at it. Commanders
of course had a good run at the postseason last year,
and that's going to be another prime time game. I'm jacked, man.
This is an exciting schedule coming up. As I said,

(28:51):
I'm thinking eleven and six, and if they do that,
they should be a playoff team. The last two games
of the season, one on the road home against the
Chiefs and Chargers will decide the AFC West. So those
last two games are going to really be big too.

Speaker 2 (29:07):
Yeah, I agree with you.

Speaker 1 (29:09):
And that Commander's game one of the five games that
the Broncos are not favored in, And yeah, I agree
with you.

Speaker 2 (29:16):
Those last two games of the year are going to
be very meaningful.

Speaker 1 (29:19):
At least we hope just like last year for the
Broncos and hopefully getting back to the playoffs. One thing
I'm jack for is your show's coming up. You want
to tell us about those.

Speaker 3 (29:30):
Yeah, man, we're getting into a band season.

Speaker 7 (29:33):
With Rick Lewis Project.

Speaker 3 (29:35):
We got a cool show coming up May twenty four,
that's a week from tomorrow. It's the old Gaylord Streets
Memorial Day weekend festival, three day deal and some of
the best bands in Denver playing on those three days.
We're the headline band. Saturday night, we play eight to ten.

(29:55):
It's all ages, it's free, you bring the kids out.
Check out the Rick Lewis Project. And then the next
cool one June.

Speaker 7 (30:03):
Thirteenth of the Buffalo Rose Grant.

Speaker 3 (30:06):
You'll love this because we have an opening band that
is a funk hip hop band. These guys are really
really cool, Little Moses Jones Band. And I've been talking
to Little Moses Jones here for the past week as
we put this together, and I'm a big fan. They
opened for us at the Denver Barbecue Festival two or

(30:27):
three years ago and I stood in front of the
stage just soaking that all in. And I know you're
a funk fan, So hopefully you can make it out
to that one. That's June thirteenth. That's a ticketed show
at the Buffalo Rose and Golden I think.

Speaker 2 (30:41):
That's the one. I'm going to have to make it
out to Rick.

Speaker 1 (30:43):
You're great as always, man, and I'm a fan of
funk music because of your influence, and I am sitting
in this.

Speaker 2 (30:48):
Chair because of you. I appreciate everything you have done
for me. And go Broncos man.

Speaker 1 (30:54):
Let's get another playoff run and thanks again for.

Speaker 2 (30:56):
The time tonight.

Speaker 7 (30:58):
Yeah, brother, Go Broncos.

Speaker 3 (30:59):
And don't forge get to put your application into be
my personal assistant because Zach's already put his in.

Speaker 2 (31:06):
Well, I better trump him with our storied pass right.

Speaker 7 (31:11):
All right, brother, you guys have a good weekend.

Speaker 2 (31:13):
YouTube man, have a great night.

Speaker 1 (31:16):
That was Rick Lewis, the color analyst for our Denver Broncos.
We'll react to that and talk about Zack Seegers must
watch games for the twenty twenty five season for the
Denver Broncos coming up next it coming off are what
the Funk interview with Rick Lewis.

Speaker 2 (31:35):
If you missed any of.

Speaker 1 (31:36):
That, you can find it at Kwacolorado dot com, where
you can also find Zach Seeger's tremendous article his top
six must watch games on the Denver Broncos twenty twenty
five schedule. Let's run through these real quick before we
have the Rockies.

Speaker 2 (31:50):
At the top of the hour.

Speaker 1 (31:51):
Zach number six Broncos versus Giants.

Speaker 2 (31:54):
What makes that so intriguing? I think it's kind of obvious.

Speaker 4 (31:57):
Yeah, everyone wanted the Russell Wilson revenge last year. That
cast train meant no one in Broncos country could get it.
So now you get your chance, and I think that's
all you need.

Speaker 2 (32:06):
The booze empower field will be mighty that day.

Speaker 1 (32:09):
Number five, Week fourteen, Broncos at Raiders.

Speaker 2 (32:12):
Yeah, Raiders might not.

Speaker 4 (32:13):
Have the marquee factor of the Chiefs or Chargers, but
they're a much better team this year. That game's not
going to be a gimmey and that final stretch is brutal.
All but two of the final seven games are against
playoff teams from last year. This is one of the
few that isn't and Broncos have to take advantage of it.

Speaker 1 (32:31):
Yeah, and we're expecting the Raiders to be much better
with the addition of Ashton Genty as you mentioned, and
of course Pete Carroll as the head coach and Chip
Kelly as the offensive coordinator. We hit on this one
a little bit with Rick Lewis. Broncos at Commander is
a primetime game Sunday Night Football Week thirteen.

Speaker 2 (32:46):
Yeah, I think that one's gonna be awesome.

Speaker 4 (32:48):
You get the Jayden Daniels bo Nicks Heisman Trophy rivalry,
offensive Rookie of the Year rivalry, and there's the dan
Quinn Sean Payton factor. Two has been right, dan Quinn
a favorite for that job. Each the last two goes
go arounds. You know, now gets to show the Broncos
maybe they made the wrong choice.

Speaker 1 (33:04):
This would be number one on my list, is number
three on yours. Broncos versus Bengals on Monday Night Football
Week four.

Speaker 4 (33:11):
Well, we know why it's number one on your list,
and I guess it's it's a great game. It's a
great matchup. I can't wait to see it. It's just
a little early in the season. I wonder if you're
getting the best version of the Bengals considering their history.

Speaker 1 (33:22):
That's a great point and I expect that one to
be a high scoring game, and the two games at
two and one are going to be very meaningful. As
Rick Lewis said in the previous segment, Number two Broncos
vers Chargers week eighteen.

Speaker 4 (33:34):
Yeah, like you said, I think this determines the AFC
West and then maybe the AFC as a result. You've
got great teams here that the Chargers are gave the
Broncos a lot of trouble last year, frankly more trouble
than the Chiefs. They've got to win this game to
if they want a chance to win AFC West, and
definitely to jockey for playoff positioning and number one Broncos

(33:55):
at Chiefs on Christmas Day, Week seventeen. As much as
I hate to work on a holiday, if you're going
to be working, you might as well be working a
primetime game on Christmas Day, maybe deciding the AFC West. Yeah,
it's a perfect combination here. You get the primetime factor,
the Christmas factor. This is going to be the most
washed Broncos game of the season unless they make the

(34:16):
super Bowl, and it comes.

Speaker 2 (34:17):
Against the Chiefs.

Speaker 4 (34:18):
A great opportunity for them to tell the rest of
the NFL, hey we're here and we're ready to contend.

Speaker 7 (34:23):
I love it.

Speaker 2 (34:23):
You can find the full.

Speaker 1 (34:24):
Article of ZAX Must Watch Games at Koacolorado dot Com.
Always does a great job and much deeper descriptions on
the article on the website that's going to do it
for us. I've been Grant Smith filling in for Benjamin Albright.
We've got Rockies baseball coming up next right here on
KOA eight.
