(00:00):
Well, come to it Broncos Countrytonight. But with all Brian Dick,

(00:02):
Ferguson, Grant Smith, the textline is still popping. By the way,
fifty cent playing Kareem Jackson. Ohthat's a good one. I ain't
mad at it. Get rich didI try? I'm just saying, you
know, although last year Kareem wastrying to get poor, I trying with
h Yeah, I mean as muchmoney day, We'll hustle backwards there five
six sixty nine year olds text line. I am gonna, you know,

(00:23):
watch that clip series. People wereasking it's on Hulu, you can you
can watch it there, and Ithink it's good. Uh So if you
guys want to watch it, youcan certainly do that. Uh the Broncos
OTA's thus far. I was outat the one. Was it yesterday?
Yes, I'm doing track it isyesterday. And the more you continue to

(00:43):
watch and I saw it's interesting becauseI saw a bunch of weird fake reports
about Zach Wilson being QB one orsomething, and I don't even know where
that came from. I would saythat if I had to rank it now.
And I hate doing this stuff becauseyou're in shorts and you know,
you're not really out there tackling. You don't see much of a passwords.
It's difficult to sit there and givean honest evaluation to something. But I

(01:06):
will say, if you want tosay who's making the most on target passes,
getting the ball out without being sacked, being decisive, understands the offense,
I would rank it as Jared Stidhamcurrently one, VOTIX two and Sack
Wilson the distant third. And it'sit's not a knock on Wilson, It's
not a knock on Nicks. Youwould expect Jared Stidham to be the guy

(01:27):
who's looking the best right now atyou know, a couple of weeks of
OTA. He's given the fact thathe has a year's experience in this offense
with the other two. Don't thatsaid? You know, people get upset
if you say that. They getupset if you say, look, Jared
Stidham's kind of QB one right now. I mean, he just looks the
part. And I know I makejokes calling him Stidwater, you know,

(01:48):
because he kind of reminds you alittle Teddy Bridgewater, you know, steady
stitty, you know that kind ofthing. I called stidwater. But I
don't think it's a bad thing thathe's necessarily of leading at this point.
I don't think it's an indictment onbow Nicks or Zach Wilson. I don't
think that it is an awful thing. That he looks the best. He
has the experience, he's gonna lookthe best he's been in the system of

(02:10):
the year. He's thrown to alot of these guys before, and so
I don't think that's that it's abad thing. But it got me thinking,
what does it mean if he winsthe job over bow Nicks? If
bo Nicks doesn't take the step thatwe imagine that he will, what does
it mean if Jarrett's did him isQB one week one, it doesn't mean

(02:32):
really anything, because let's be totallyhonest. During this whole process, we've
heard how brilliant bo Nicks has been, how quick he's picked up on the
offensive scheme, and granted this noillmore he has to learn. But I
mean, Jared is than coming. He is the one guy who's been in
the offense the longest, so heshould know it better than anyone else.

(02:55):
So if he emerged the start ofWeek one. I will not be surprised.
I know some will be flabergasted andupset and tossing stuff around the house
because they perceive that the Broncos hadtheir quarterback of the future and bo Nicks
and why not is it that heis not the starter? But I'm okay

(03:15):
if Jared starts the season, becauseonce again, it's not how you start,
it is how you finish. Andit would allow bo Nicks to get
his feet wet, to watch jaredtgo out there and watch the things he
did well, but also more importantlyfor his development, Bonnick's development watching what
he does wrong right. And Ithink the other part of this, and

(03:37):
this is the part I got intoit with people on Twitter about is is
they're like, oh no, ifthat happens, he's a bust. You
know, He's got to be ableto take the job from freaking Jared Stidham,
you know. And I'm like, wait a minute, who's the best
quarterback in the NFL right now?Pat Mahomes. When did Pat Mahomes make
his first start? A year later? It was literally the last week of
his first season against the never Broncos, by the way, and usually that's

(04:00):
team just saying, look, wein the case of Kansas City, they
were still in a good place withAlex Smith, but they knew they were
moving away from him, so theyneeded to get the young kids some time
so they can have some film toevaluate and also build this confidence and say,
hey, listen, we know whatyou were at Texas Yes and Texas
Tech, and now you get achance to match her with against the NFL

(04:24):
caliber talent. I can see theBroncos doing that with both Knicks. Everyone
wants the Broncos to be pressured intoplaying Bo Knicks, But if both Knicks
is showing as though he's making thoseleaps in those bounds, then you do
it. You don't force it justto force it, right, And then
I think that's the main for me, that is the main point that I

(04:44):
tried to make, is that youdon't just put Bnicks there just to put
him in there. He has tobe ready. If this is your guy,
you believed in him, you drafthim at twelve. Overall, you
don't set him up for failure bythrowing him in the pool before he's ready.
Right, You don't set him youdon't throw him at the deep end
before he's ready. And if thatmeans starting Jared send him for a couple
of games, so be it.And again, all this is precluding the
fact that maybe Zach Wilson makes aleap or whatever too. But I think

(05:06):
that after having watched this for alittle bit, I'm like, well,
you know, we'll see how thislooks through training camp, we get into
live fire, and Bow gets moreand more comfortable with all this. But
at the end of the day,it's not to me a terrible thing.
If Jared's didhim is the starter weekone we've seen, you go back and
you look, and Pa Mahomes isa perfect example. Alex Smith was underrated

(05:26):
I think over the course of hiscareer. But at the end of the
day, nobody is mistaking Alex Smithfor Patrick Mahomes. No, and Mahomes
they didn't feel was already yet.You know all the talent in the world,
and we've certainly seen what that talenthas blossomed into. So I just
I don't think that it's such abad thing if Jared's Didnam wins the job
week onon. No, it's not. But I that's based on how everyone

(05:54):
saw boat Nicks and what's been saidabout him. They would be somewhat a
little disappointed. I'm like, no, we know how this works in the
league, and sometimes it's great tojust kind of sit and watch and learn.
We're not saying that he's sitting forthe entire season, but it just
you you may sit week one.Hell, he may just sit sit just

(06:15):
the first five plays of the firstseries. That is something that is that
could happen, that that could bereal. But I don't look at it
disappointing if jeffstid Him is out there. But that just proved that the chemistry
that Jared was building with guys whenhe was operating the scout team last year.
It's just a continuation and extension ofthat. Yeah, And I think
that's I think that's fair and Ithink that you know, that's what we

(06:38):
need to. We need to Theobjective needs to be get bo Nicks ready
to play, not get bo Nicksready to play week one. Hashtaghe Bo
Knicks and play hashtag real talk.Yes, it's being a real talk.
Three five on the text line says, I take back what he Harrelson,
John Stainles can playment. That's fit'smuch much better. John. You know

(06:58):
what I gotta have to look atthe text line did you did you send
that in yourself? It's actually hismom. Mom. She's not saying that.
My mom would have been ripping onme too. Would have been like
Paul, that would have been themontext. Phil Simms was on the Can't
We Sports Show? He had somethoughts on Bonnicks. Well, I'll just
say this, if you called meto hear something bad about bow Nicks,

(07:20):
you called the wrong guy. Imean, I think he was underrated coming
out. I watched him a loton TV during the year and even as
years at Auburn. You know,I just say this, and I think
about the Auburn day. Come on, that might have been one of the
worst college offenses in the NFL incollege football. Nobody Tom Brady went down
there and would have stunk it up. But uh, you know, like

(07:42):
you guys, he plays big,he's accurate as hell throw in the football.
I heard a lot about his armstrength. Oh it's not elite.
It might not be elite, butI'll tell you he's the son of a
coach. But you guys know allthis. But the one thing happens to
the most quarterbacks who haven't and reallyit's their life, and I think this
is all about his life, andyou know all this stuff about throwing.

(08:03):
Look in year two, he's goingto be physically a better thrower, more
accurate, and have more power inthe ball. So many quarterbacks I watched
and study in the league do it. Aaron Rodgers did it, Tom Brady
did it. We just don't realizethat I did because I saw it.
Joe Burrow great example. From yearone to two, the speed of the
football picked up, he became abetter passer. Josh Allen changed his motion

(08:28):
and learned to be an NFL quarterback. So you know, I just thought
he made quick decisions. You cantell he's going to be, you know,
have a special I think he justknows how to play quarterback, and
I think he relates to players andall that. So the biggest thing too,
I saw he can find the nextreceiver as fast as anybody I've ever

(08:48):
seen in college football. And I'mnot overstating it at all. So that's
just a few things I got abouthim. That last point is a big
one too, because that's about gettingto the second read, not just predetermining
the first row and all that kindof stuff. That that second comment,
that last comment rather than Phil Simmsmade there was I thought was he seems
to be a big Bonex fan.Phil Sims seems to love him some Boneicks.

(09:09):
Well, for me, I thinkthe idea you have Phil Simms,
who played the position and being ableto evaluate that position has become really difficult
for a lot of people. Eventhose who play the position still can't evaluate
it. But there's certain things youlook for in the player and will every
player hit those marks and expectations. No, We've seen guys drafted in the

(09:33):
first round that they phased out orpizzled out five six years in the league
and it never became what everyone anticipated. But having somewhat of a decent arm,
and Phil said, well, hedoesn't have an elite on It's been
proven that you don't need to havean elite arm if you can put the
ball in certain places but also getthe ball out of your hand really quickly.

(09:56):
And this is where bow Knicks isgoing to have to make it huge
adjustment being in one system for acertain period of time, and in Oregon
that helps you out. You're jumpingto a new system. So watching his
growth and maturity as we move along, it's gonna be really important. But
what happens down the field is gonnastart before the ball is ever snapped.

(10:18):
Identifying what the defense is trying todo to you once and that's gonna take
some time as a young quarterback. But after the ball is snapped to me,
that's where we judge quarterbacks. Whatare you doing with your feet?
That's the important thing because if yourfootwork isn't great, we don't have to
worry about you going through progression. The rest of it's gonna be as well,
right, And that's I think thebiggest overlooked thing when it comes to

(10:39):
quarterbacks. You know, your yourfeet point where of the ball is gonna
go. You know, you gottahave the right face. It's gonna take
a boxer you Everbody talks about punchesand alls kind but if you're footworking right,
you're gonna be allows your boxer nomatter hour you can punch. Imagine
from a boxing standpoint, trying tothrow an upper cut and your feet across
that right, Yeah, where's yourpower coming from? What your opponent has?

(11:00):
He was touching on the forehead andpushing it fall down. You push
you ware, you don't even needa glove on it. You can just
hit you with the with the pinkytap exactly et phone home tap, and
you're and you're on your back.Who's some of the players that OTA's that
have jumped out at you? Ithink one of the things that one of
them has jumped out at me.We talked about pg a lock a little
bit, but on the offensive sideof the ball, val a wide receiver
that they just draft. H He'sa big body guy and he looks big
body, more ready to go.Now granted he's a little older, but

(11:22):
he looks more ready to go asa wide receiver than I think I've seen
in a long time out of arookie that's hitting OTAs well. I would
say a lot of that has todo with Courtland not being here because it
allows a lot of guys to getreps with the first team and the second
team that wouldn't ordinarily get those repsright, and that's how you build your

(11:46):
confidence in the scheme. Because whenyou go out there with a quarterback,
whether it's it's Stidham or Zach Wilsonor even both Nicks, if that quarterback
knows what he's doing and he understandsthat group of plays, that has been
given to him. He's gonna makeeveryone look better. And that's the whole

(12:07):
thing. When when the quarterback graspthose concepts, the wide receiver looks better.
If the wide receivers grasped the concept, they helped the quarterback because I
know, being at practice, Istand around to here, individual's talk while
that ball was buying behind the receiversshould have been here. There's not a
perfect player. But Steve was onwe talked about this. There's no such

(12:28):
thing as a perfect player. PeytonManning would tell you at moments he had
the struggles, and some of thosecould have been internal with how he viewed
the game within itself. So everypass is not gonna be perfect. You
look at Joe Montana and you say, Joe Montana with the forest super Bowls.
He four and on super Bowls andsome say that he's a better quarterback

(12:48):
than Tom Brady. But guess what, some days he wasn't on his game.
Some days the ball wasn't right onJohn Taylor or Jerry Rice. Sometime
it may be a little high,a little low. They have the big
and the reach for it. Butthe idea is that quarterbacks make can make
wide receivers life easier and vice versa. So as you talk about you know,

(13:09):
the guys, the wife young widereceivers, it's kind of a working
process. But you have to buildthat confidence with that guy you went.
Think about it, Zach Wilson.Since he's arrived and we got a chance
to see him, I mean,he's taking a lot of trades and obviously
based on what she's okay, dowe note it. But based on what

(13:30):
people have seen of him in NewYork, they bring those same that same
luggage with them, and to me, I look at it like this,
Okay, let's treat it like evenwith Jared Stenham, like a relationship.
Do you carry the baggage with everybreakup you have into another relationship because if
you do, that relationship is notgonna work right. And people, do

(13:52):
you mean you do carry baggage ina relationship? I think, in speaking
of relationships, I think you haveto. I think you have to find
a way to dissociate their past withtheir present. You're like, Okay,
they did all these things. Iacknowledge that those happened, and they're gonna
view things through their lens because ofthat. But I'm gonna judge this situation
based on who you are with me. Okay, So so now we're judging

(14:13):
it through fresh eyes. Yeah,Like, I don't exact Wilson's New York
thing that's in the past. Idon't even care. Let judge exact Wilson
on what I've seen, Okay, being with But then that's you being different
because I've stood out at practice andI've done some ear hustling, right,
and it's just like, oh,individuals are waiting. They're waiting. Is
like, okay, well, canwe not judge Zach Wilson Jerffson where the

(14:35):
fresh pair of eyes opposed to whatwe saw are we seeing of them previously?
Even with bo Nicks, Right, let's judge them with fresh eyes,
and let's judge them based on whatwe're watching in practice. And even with
what we're watching in practice, understandwhat this is. You know, this
ota is in this mini camp whenwe really need to start judging as well
as we get to training camp, because that means that the season is not

(14:58):
that far away. So it's justlike, this is what practice is for.
This is why you try all theseelaborate plays and you make your mistakes
because you want to make those mistakesin practice. You don't want to make
the mistakes in games, because practiceis an opportunity to learn from youre mistakes
and get better. And I wishthis is just me, and you know
I'm an optimistic person. I wishthat more individuals who cover this team in

(15:24):
this town looked on the individual withfresh eyes. Yeah, I think you
have to. I think you haveto. I mean from my perspective,
maybe, And you said that's mebeing different, But that's just the way
I do things I don't care like. And again to go back to talking
about this within the confines or thecontext of a relationship, I don't care
about somebody's past. Everything they didadded up to make from who they are
now. I'm judging you on whoyou are and who you've been, and

(15:46):
so that's that's the same thing witha quarterback, like with Zach Wilson,
I'm judging you based on who youare and who you've been. We're here
to coach you up and make youa good football player for this football team.
And Zach, to be fair,it's only been three practices that I'm
making jokes, but it hadn't beengood so far. It really has but
that's to be expected. You've neverthrown with these guys, you've never practiced
with these guys, you've never playedin this offense. I mean, okay,

(16:07):
it's gonna look bad. I'll judgeyou at the end of training.
Give I'll judge you. But rightnow, if I have to rank them,
and sometimes my job requires me todo silly things like rank them,
right now, it's Stidham, Nicksand then Wilson. I think that's a
fair assessment. And if either ofthose players are in this room, they'll
probably saying, you know what,We're cool with that. But the great

(16:29):
thing about this to having an opinion. We're all allowed to change based on
the information that we are presented with. So as this thing starts to roll
on, now we seem, well, who's getting better? Who seems to
be more grooved in with offense?Right? By the way, you know
who had played Dave Tepper, theother guy in Madman, not John Hamm
the other guy I can't think hisname, the actor's name, the older

(16:51):
guy and Madman. He played TonyStark's father. Yeah, yeah, yes,
I know what you're talking about.Okay, we all know the look
of the guy who can't think theactor's name. That'sho we play Dave Teper.
This is the Rocks, can wait, Welcome back to it, Broncos
Country Tonight, Benjamin Albrighten, NickFerguson, Grant Smith here with you,
be fresh, appreciate you bro.Yes, Jeremy Render put me up for
Jeremy Renner. I'll take that.Yes, and said Diamond Hanson for me.

(17:15):
I'm here for that. I don'tknow who that is. Have you
ever seen The Garden Sagaci Yeah youblood Diamond? Oh okay, yes,
yeah that guy Diamond Hanson. Yeah, but I can see it. Yeah,
you know. He started out hecould do it, like if Don
Cheetah were younger, he could doit. Don Cheeto from Denver, Yeah,
m playing me. Yeah. Bythe way, Don Cheetah once read

(17:37):
one of my tweets wrong, likeomitted a word and thought it meant the
opposite, and it was like goingoff on me ten years ago on Twitter,
fifteen years ago on Twitter. Hedlike delete it all later, but
like he went off on and thenthen he realized like he's like, oh
man, my bad, I missedthe not in there or whatever, and
like just thought you were a racistI'm like, I'm so sorry. I'm
like, it's one of those thingsbecause I had some moments on Twitter where

(18:00):
I'm been like, you know, like when me and Joe Rule were beefing,
Like where did that go from? What? Yeah, Joe Roll and
I were beefing for a minute. There was like two weeks. That's interesting
that happened. Like it was righton that Firefest I was making Firefest joke.
Oh okay, okay, and itwasn't and then and then all of
a sudden, all of a sudden, I'm beefing with jaw Roll out of
nowhere, like twenty years after jawwas a thing Better Watch your Back murder,

(18:22):
inc Yeah about that. It was. It was so funny because it
made like magazines. It was like, you know, sports song host and
rapper go, you know, andit's like, so it's in like Complex
magazine or whatever. I was like, that's how I know I made it.
Okay, you know, I'm inDouble Excel and beef of with jaw
Roll. That was the weirdest one, the Don Cheetle beef because he misread

(18:44):
my tweet and then was like thinkinglike that was a horrible racist or whatever,
and I'm like, bro, I'mon your keep here, Like,
what do we do? I wasputting yourself out? What are you doing?
War machine? You're killing me?Yeah it was. It hurt me,
hurt my heart. But he youknow, he apologized that. Or
so it's whatever. Five six,six nine zeros text line. You guys
want to get involved the conversation, get an FL six pack. It's time

(19:08):
for the NFL six pad. I'mgoing insight and inside information you can't find
anywhere else. No. Six thetop six NFL headline what as Good Morning
Football remains inexplicably on hiatus as theproduction relocates from New York Los Angeles.
UH former NFL player chair has sortof been vacated. According to Andrew march

(19:32):
hand of the Athletic Jason mccordy won'tbe with the show and it relaunches in
August from Los Angeles. Good MorningFootball, of course shutter it in late
March with a couple of sporadic returnsaround like tenpole events. But part of
the report there are some NFL playersin position to replace mccordy. I'm looking
here at don't see Nick Ferguson's nameon the short list. So we still

(19:55):
got him here with us for alittle while. But Mantai Tao and Akbar
Gbaja b Amelia, I can neverget that in the last name, right,
remember KGB, it's the same lastname except a Zachbar well by Jamila.
He's on a show right now,Warrior, well not just American Ninja
Warrior, but he's on another kindof like panel type of shows that make

(20:17):
sure both men and women. SoI've seen that. So yeah, I
mean, and I think when hefirst jumped into broadcasting after playing Days,
I think he did a short stepon NFL Network if I'm not mistaken,
So that would be a great wayto go. But Mentai Tao, that's
that's interesting. Yeah, that wasa little interesting to me. Tailor Course
is thirty three. It was thesecond round pick of the Chargers back in
twenty thirteen. Spent four years withthe Chargers, three with the Saints,

(20:40):
one with the Bears. Last playedin twenty twenty March. And also reports
Kyle Brandt will not be making themove to Los Angeles, but that he
will remain on the show in ahybrid model where he'll be in New York
studio for at least part of thetimes, anybody else you'd want to see
you on Good Morning Football. Ithought they had a great format going there
for a while, and they hadwas a Kay Adams and I thought that
version of it was the best.Well, I mean, like everything that

(21:00):
happens in the NFL, that's alwaysever changing. Definitely to kind of keep
the ratings going. But are proudyou know Ryan Leaf. I think he
does a great job when he's onthere, so I would love to see
him kind of continue that role ifit's expanded. But there's a couple of
guys that are out there who Ithink do a great job. But Ryan

(21:23):
is one of those guys who youknow, just think about what he went
through to how he turned his lifearound. But he would be a great
role model and beacon for anyone who'sgone through any kind of substance abuse.
Say, look, you can turnyour life around. All you have to
do is look at what Ryan hasdone for himself. Yeah, I'm all
for it. I think Ryan hasgreat, great presence on television, so

(21:44):
I'd look forward to that one too. The UFL averaged eight hundred and sixteen
thousand viewers in the twenty twenty fourregular season I don't know if you guys
watch the UFL at all that thefirst season went pretty well better than the
twenty twenty three season of the twoleagues that came together to create the UFL.
My old Sports Business journal Fell's fortyregular season games on ABC, Fox,
ESPN one, two, and FSone average eight hundred sixteen thousand viewers.

(22:06):
Last year, the USFL averaged sixhundred thousand viewers XFL six twenty two.
The key is the UFL had alarger presence on broadcast. Team E
six games all on broadcast TV hadaudience as well, in excess of a
million. That's a great start andsuggest that maybe spring leagues will do better
than those that came before, allof which failed for various reasons, including
COVID. The postseason starts this weekendSan Antonio at Saint Louis, Michigan at

(22:29):
Birmingham Winners Meet June sixteen in SaintLouis. My guy, Louis Perez leagues
the UFL in basically every passing statisticcategory. It's a Jenkins Elite alum.
For those who don't know Luis Perez, obviously, he was the guy who
was a bowler who taught himself toplay quarterback by watching YouTube videos. He
was the seventh string quarterback at TexasCommerce, did not play high school ball,

(22:52):
was the seventh string quarterback at TexasA and M Commerce, and through
injury and defection, managed to findDay in the starting role and wound up
winning the MVP for the e Bthree. I think it's the Harlan Hill
Trophy when all said and done,so be interesting to see you guys watch
the UFL at all. Do yousee coach Phillips coaching? Didn't watch a
single minute, not one minute.Nope, I did. I did watch

(23:15):
because I definitely wanted to support coachPhillips. And I think it's great to
have this kind of league and havethem kind of combined XFL in the USFL
because it gives a lot of playersmore opportunities to stay here in the States,
opposed to what I had to dogoing to the CFL and NFL Europe.

(23:37):
Even though it's to buy probably goodNFL. I think it's great,
and I think viewership will grow upas they continue to change rules and make
the game more excited. Yeah,I think it's fun. I certainly watched
a little bit of it. Andobviously my guy Luis Perez. Like I
said, I think he's gonna bethey ever have like a Spring League Hall
of Fame. He's gonna be thefirst ballot guy since he's been like the
guy in all of them, alliterations of the every iteration of it.

(23:59):
He was in the AAF, THEXFF, and he's been the guy in all
those leagues like he's he's he gota cup of coffee with the rams and
all that kind of stuff. Notreally cut off for the NFL, but
in the in the spring leagues, man, he just he mops up three
to A. Talk about Lowa's weightloss has become a major talking point.
Salty toa has yielded to skinny toit, as it were. The transformation
of the Alphons quarterback has been amajor talking point at the team's ongoing mandatory

(24:22):
mini camp or this week talking aboutwhat it didn't spare Shreedy specifics, so
about how much weight he has lostor whether he's trying to lose more.
I don't know, he said. When he asked, we now ways on
whatever I'm down to right now?He said he felt like it'd be better.
I feel better quicker on my feet, more nimble, all that hopes
to use that mobility to better extendplays. As to whether he's planning to
lose even more weight, he said, you'll see during training camp. On

(24:44):
Wednesday, Mike McDaniel addressed these significantbody shrink and just saying, honestly,
it's just to trying to find anotherlevel of his game, aother level of
being a professional. Happens to alot of players. For all of a
sudden, you become pseudo dietitians severalyears into your career, but definitely not
at the start. Seeing ways hecan maintain the strength, create more flexibility
and power, or however you wantto look at it. You know the
goals to remain healthy. It's interestingto see quarterbacks all of the sudden,

(25:07):
the new vogue thing is losing abunch of weight. Toul Us down to
roughly two oh five. You've gotLamar Jackson down to about two to oh
five, all of a sudden, playing at two point fifteen. Used to
be a light quarterback weight, youwant to be closer to two thirty.
Now these guys are all drafted backdown to two oh five to quote unquote
be a little more mobile. Dowe think that this is going to be
a problem for longevity of of courseof a season. I don't think so.

(25:30):
There are some that would argue becausethey live by I guess that old
adage that of what you're expressing thatwe want a quarterback to be at a
certain height or weight, and usuallythat's kind of two twenty five based on
the pounding. But with these quarterbacksare realized, and I'm glad that they
are. Is like, how didyou become the household name you were in

(25:52):
college and in the pros? It'syour ability to move around and avoid past
us because we know looking at thejust most recent draft and the combined numbers,
those guys are faster and they're smallerguys, so you have to be
smaller to get away. Because Tuawas sixty one two twenty seven, and
yeah, was he still mobile, but he wasn't as agile as he needed

(26:14):
to be. And knowing as thougha guy who suffers some injuries, you
want to be able to elude thesepass rusts. So I'm okay with I'm
still okay with it. Tyreek Hillwas hilarious about it, saying, I
ain't gonna lie. When I sawTua at the Pro Bowl. I was
kind of scared. Dude was fatas bleep. He told reporters he was
fat, he was chubby. Iwas like, hold on, bro,
hold on, bro Ryan Clark said, you were kind of thick. He
wasn't lying. But seeing him nowand where he's come from, how skinny

(26:37):
he's gotten. What's that stuff everybody'staking ozempic. He's got to be taking
of that now. I don't knowbefore. Mike McCarthy says Dak Prescott is
having his best offseason. Prescott's futurewith the Cowboys up in the airs.
He moves on towards the season withouta contract extension, but it hasn't been
an obstacle to's preparation over the pastfew months. That was the message from
head coach Micha maccarthur. We spoketwo porters from the team's winning mini camp

(27:00):
today. McCarthy said he thinks thequality of work that Prescott has done with
the team's offseason is the best heseen since being hired by the Cowboys in
twenty twenty. Dek's having his bestoffseason program that we've had, this atmosphere
practicing in the quarterbacks receivers really hitthe mark I'm impressed with the quality of
work. Prescott also held a pressconference on Wednesday and said he agrees with
McCarthy's take on the off season. He said, it's because of what this

(27:22):
game means to me, and alsobecause the whole unit has benefited from the
experience that comes to spending the lastseason with McCarthy calling the offensive shot instead
of Kellen Moore. Prescott wonted severalCowboys who don't know where they'll be next
offseason. That doesn't seem to keephim from making the most of this one.
Prescott has been a highly productive performer. What can we expect out of
him this season? Boy, whena guy is pressed against the wall and

(27:45):
he doesn't have a contract, usuallythat player comes out finding and that's kind
of the approach. I'm gonna lookat it with Dak Prescott because Dak Prescott,
amongst all the other thirty one quarterbacks, obviously he makes thirty two.
I think sometimes he is unfairly judgedbecause one he's a quarterback and he plays

(28:07):
for the Dallas Cowboys. But Ithink he comes out and he really shows
individuals who he is. But morea portly He's gonna play well because he
won a huge payday because behind himthere's Trey Lance, And I mean,
we still don't know what Trey Lancecan be. Now. If Jerry Jones
wants to roll the dice and goin that direction, he can. But
I still think of the suitors fora guy like Dak Prescott. But this

(28:30):
is a huge year for Dak Prescottto get his money. Five Colt center
Ryan Kelly. He says eighteen gamesis too many. Talk about extending the
regular season to an eighteenth games pickedup recently. One of the members in
the nflpa's executive committee waited on thenotion. Today, Colt Center Ryan Kelly
said that having more games sounds greatto some people when the NFL Commissioner Roger

(28:51):
Goodell discusses it, but that hisfeeling is that it is too many games
for those that actually play the game. Kelly said the corresponding changes to the
preseason would be bad for players tryingto establish themselves as well. Quote,
I wish people had understood how hardit was to play sixteen. When they
added another one, they got ridof preseason games. Well, okay,
who's that gonna hurt guys who don'thave a shot the guys that are undrafted
late round guys, if you goahead and improve themselves. I thin guess

(29:12):
the fans see it like they don'twant to watch preseason games. They have
no idea what goes on inside thebuilding. NFL, of course, moved
to seventeen games after the union narrowlypassed the most recent collective bargaining agreement,
and he moved to eighteen games wouldalso need to be bargained and there's no
timelining place for discussions on that themoment, Nick Ferguson is eighteen games too
many? Yeah, eighteen games gamesare too many, especially when there is

(29:36):
not an extra bye week. You'renot adding extra players to the roster to
deal with all the pain that isassociated with the game. Because even if
you move to eighteen games, nineteengames, there's still gonna be those Thursday
night games. And no matter howmuch people say, hey, listen,
it's almost like an extended bye week. You say that all you want to,
but your body's gonna tell you somethingdifferent. And I agree with Ryan

(29:59):
as it pertains to hey, whatguys is going to hurt when when you
reduce the preseason and you put allthe chips on the regular season and makes
it difficult for those guys who areon the bubble to make those teams.
And if I played under the newproposed eighteen game seasons shortening the preseason,

(30:21):
there's no Nick Ferguson, there's probablyno Durell Davis. They definitely probably know
a McCaffrey, and for sure there'sno Rod Smith, right, A lot
of guys that And I think peoplethey don't want to pay full price for
the preseason games. If that were, if that were to become a thing
where you could get discounted preseason gamesinstead of regular price, just do that,
which they shouldn't. Well, doyou really want to know? I

(30:44):
mean, rich guys don't become rich, but I give a discount, r
people still come. You don't makea profit by giving money away, just
saying six. Speaking of the nearlydone NBA TV deals, pretty much guaranteed
the NFL is going to pull theplug on early current tracks. The NBA
is on the brink of cashing inlike never before. The NFL won't be
far behind. Wall Street Journal reporteddeals nearly done between the NBA and a

(31:07):
trio of broadcast partners amazonis PN andNBC. Total who will be seventy six
billion dollars over eleven years. Thatwill be a two hundred and sixty five
percent increase in the current NBA rightsfees and will cut out Warner Brothers Discovery,
leaving TNT Without the NBA that levelbumping broadcast money, we'll surely get
the NFL's attention. Although it's existingcontracts basically run through twenty thirty three,

(31:30):
the NFL can pull the plug afterthe twenty twenty nine season and probably will
so. Like the numbers will getworse for twenty thirty through twenty thirty three,
the only question is how much betterthey'll be. Throwing the very real
possibility of the aforementioned eighteenth regular seasongame and ongoing rise of streaming, the
NFL will have more inventory to offerthan ever, More importantly, more suitors
than packages. That's the key togetting the most money. Uh yeah,

(31:52):
look at this, And I'm sadabout the NBA on TNT because I thought
that was step pregame shit. Thatshow with Kenny and Chobo Shack and the
Bnarities absolutely one of the best studioshows have any sport. Ever of the
fact that they're they're blowing that upand TNT is getting you know, getting
out of that or for whatever reason. And I guess you get some monetary
reason. It's just said, Ihope that they're able to pick that up
and make that work again. Here'swhat I thought was gonna happen. Well

(32:14):
you have a great show with ensemblecast like that, and you just say,
okay, well one network decides thatthey're going to end their contract,
We're going to go in a differentdirection. Home there was the new network
say you know what, that's asuccessful action. So let's take those guys
and put them on our network. If you're smart and you're NBC, you're
doing everything you can as a newplatform for the NBA to get all those
guys over to NBC. So seewhat you said the operative word, it's

(32:37):
smart, right, I mean itwas people are actually thinking that way first.
I mean, I am excited NBCis bringing back Sunday Night basketball,
so that'll be really bringing back JohnTesh's theme though that is have you seen
the clip where he was I thinkit is the Red Rocks and he was
explaining how he thought that up andwhen he was on a plane, so

(32:57):
he got on the plane phone backthen because they had those barrel phones whatever,
and he called and left himself amessage on his voicemail where he hummed
the theme, and he brought therecording of the voicemail and played it for
everybody at the thing. You shouldlook that up to get a chance.
I tell you even now, whenI first found out that was John Tesh,
I was just like the Entertainment Tonightguy. No way, no way.

(33:21):
I kind of dated myself with thatbecause Grant's looking like what John Tesh
was on Entertainment Tonight. Yeah, that said what everybody knew John Tesh from
was Entertainment Tonight, not from RoundBowl Rock. Yes, now John Tesh
live at the Red Rid. I'mlike, wait a minute, that guy's
got red rocks. What so bizarre? It is so bizarre. But that's

(33:42):
what it drives home, is ideathat you can't judge a book by his
cover for real, because I've neverwould have seen that would coming, nobody
would have seen it. And youlook at John Tesh and you would not
fake because that was like the NBAsong, right that That was how you
knew that NBA games are coming onAlbert, Like the first five seconds of

(34:05):
that theme everybody knows what that means. Everybody that means, Hey, honey,
I'm not doing the Honey do list. We're gonna say that but tomorrow,
and everybody knows what this music means. We gotta to break Broncos country
night of this. That's no lie. Some dancing
