Speaker 1 (00:00):
Five, six, six times zeros and text on you guys,
listen to Broncos Country and I Ben's with Albredick Ferguson,
Zack Seers back there, producer. We're gonna go right out
to the Kwait Comma Spirit hotline though, and bring on
your voice so the Colorado Rockies. A guy saw earlier today,
Jack Corgan Jack.

Speaker 2 (00:12):
How you doing, Benjamin? I'm doing great? Hello? Nick?

Speaker 1 (00:16):
What's going on with Zach?

Speaker 2 (00:18):
I'm good man? How are you?

Speaker 1 (00:20):
I'm doing fantastic. You know, I saw you earlier today.
You shot down an idea that I'd had, and you
had a very very good reason for it. No, you
had a great reason for it, though, and it's not
one that I particularly thought of. You know, I've talked
on this show a little bit about maybe going out
and getting like a rock He's going to get a
Hey Decky Kurayama and bringing him in. This is kind
of a you know, an advisor to help, you know,
change the culture top to bottom. I don't think you'd

(00:40):
work out as a manager, but you were pointing out
specifically the reason why you didn't think he would work out,
and I was wondering if you could elaborate on that
for the listeners.

Speaker 2 (00:49):
Yeah, you know, as much as baseball is the same
game wherever you played in the world, the Japanese coach,
the Japanese culture around baseball is much more regimented, certainly
than it is in the major leagues. And probably you know,

(01:09):
even you know, getting down to the miners college, high school,
I don't know that someone like him would. He'd have
is his challenges trying to get some of his ideas
to mesh with the sort of mindset of American players.

(01:31):
But at the same time, Benjamin I thought it was,
you know, a good thought because I think as the
Rockies go about this recharging, you know, rebuilding, whatever reverb
we want to use, pardon the pun, I think they

(01:54):
have to look a little bit at their culture, at
their approach to how they were doing things, and what
might they do differently to be more affected, to be
more successful.

Speaker 3 (02:09):
Jack, Honestly, this is a great time for baseball. Midsommar Classic.
I definitely watched it. I enjoyed it last night. What
were some of your biggest takeaways from last night's game.

Speaker 2 (02:20):
Well, I thought one of the coolest things, and of
course it's easy to do in a game like that,
that doesn't count. But I thought when they had Kershaw
miked up that that was fabulous. As he carried on
the conversation with John Smoltz and Kershaw says, what do
you want me to throw? And Smoltz said, throw a cutter,

(02:43):
and Curser goes, man, I don't have a cutter. I
don't throw that pitch, you know, But I mean that
was cool. I don't know if you would do. I mean,
I certainly don't want it to be the extra inning
results of the future. But I thought the you know,
the home run way to you know, end extra innings

(03:05):
was cool. And I mean and of course the way Schwarberg,
you know, dropped the one knee when he hit the
game winner, I thought that was great. I mean, those
are the kinds of things that enable the fans to
get a little bit more inside the game and see
these guys in their personalities as people as well as players.

(03:30):
And I think sometimes baseball through the years has been
a little lacking in that regard, and they're trying to
catch up.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
I totally agree with you, Jack, I think that that's
something that that baseball, which was, you know, the primary
sport of my youth up until about twelve years old,
and then I you know, I kind of migrated football.
But I feel like in order for baseball to make
a comeback, and really any sports to make you got
to have a couple of things. You got to have,
you know, crisis or conflict or drama, and you've got
to have personality. And it felt like you sort of
had that last night with it with a game going

(03:58):
into air extras and they had the swing off, which
is something they badly need to rebrand. And then you know,
but I mean I didn't even know that was a thing,
and then they had the drama of all that, and
you did. You did get to see the personalities, and
I think that was a good moment for baseball.

Speaker 2 (04:15):
Yeah, I think in a lot of ways. And it
takes some education for the players to realize that it
is to their benefit, you know, baseball, because it is
the grind of you know, one hundred and sixty two
games and a little more than six months. You know,
they tend to become insular, and they tend to become

(04:37):
wary of exposing themselves, whether it's to the media or
to the general public, you know, into their personalities. I mean,
some guys are born to that, but a lot of
them it's it's a challenge. So it's it's great to
see baseball trying to foster that. The Rockies had a

(04:58):
thing the other day which I thought terrific. You know,
one of the things that baseball has nick that it's
just too hard to do with football, but we've got
especially with school out. I mean, the guys who have boys,
you know, sons. They're in the clubhouse around the field,
home and away. You know, they've got a miniature version

(05:20):
of dad's uniform and everything else. I mean, there were
like ten of them in front of the Green Monster
at Fenway when the Rockies were in Boston playing a
game of baseball with each other. You know, that was terrific.
And the thing I noticed the other day on the
Rockies website which was really clever, they had Kyle Farmer's

(05:41):
son interviewing the players, you know, with the just to
get their kinds of reactions, and it was just it
was opening up. You know. As my dad used to
tell me, it's hard for people to dislike you if
they get to know you, and when you're a public figure,

(06:03):
and if you keep to yourselves, it can you know
it can be contrary to what you want to be.
You got to still work it within the framework. But
think of all the great sports personalities through the years,
It's come from people being willing to show themselves. I've
watched today on the news Alex Singleton out helping people

(06:28):
check their baggage. I mean, how cool was that out
of da I mean, those are the things that endear
people to their sports heroes.

Speaker 3 (06:38):
Yeah, Jack, but I always thought that that was a
part of the game that Major League Baseball, you know, missed,
Like they do it during the Midsummer Classic and then
the rest of the season they don't do it. Because
what we're talking about is something that you allow. You
bring fans in, you let them see the personality of
the players. And I know we can't expect baseball to

(06:58):
make up every pitcher, but I have to say that
there's an aspect of the game that I love doing
Allstar where you hear some of these things from the guys.

Speaker 1 (07:08):
Me.

Speaker 3 (07:08):
Should more baseball fans or just people who own baseball
teams push for that because that's how we get a
chance to know players. Because the NBA does it better,
the NFL does it better.

Speaker 1 (07:20):
But not so much Major League Baseball.

Speaker 2 (07:22):
Yeah, you're you're I'm in total agreement, Nick. I think
it's long been a thing when you when you think
about it, you know, one of the great players of
this generation, Mike Trout. People don't know all that much
about Mike Trout's person you know, personality, other than that
he's an Eagles fan as he grew up in you know,

(07:44):
in New Jersey near Philadelphia. But you know, and you'll
see him in the stands with an Eagles jersey on
rooting for the Eagles during football season. But you know,
there's so much more to that, and unfortunately, it's gonna
take I don't want to say a generation of players,
but it's going to take time, and it's something baseball

(08:07):
definitely missed out on. You know, they should have been
doing this years earlier. I'm glad they're starting to do
it now. And they got to figure out ways to
do more of it without taking away from, you know,
the intensity of the game. I don't think when you
played in the secondary, you'd want to be answering a

(08:29):
question from a fan or even a broadcaster while you're
trying to see where they're lying up breaking the huddle
and knowing what your coverage is going to be, or
you've got to stunt on whatever it might have been.
You know, you're trying to focus on that. But there
is a there is a line that I think they
can cross that will further enhance people's love of the game.

Speaker 1 (08:54):
Ty with Jack Oregon, Voice of your Colorado Rockies. Rocky's
getting lost it for their recent draft class. Obviously, I
think everybody's familiar with Ethan Holliday taking their number four,
but I liked some of these other picks that they made.
I felt like getting Max Bellue, they got him a
little bit later than perhaps a lot of people thought
he was gonna go. Jabe Middleton is probably a you know,

(09:15):
a high back end starter, and one of the ones
that intrigued me was h He had limited plate appearances,
but way Forest outfielder Cameron Nelson not not a lot
of power with that swing, but you've got a speed,
contact guy who's probably a top of the lineup, you
know guy if he makes the if he makes the
pro game. What did you think about this draft class
for the Rockies.

Speaker 2 (09:33):
Yeah, I thought, well, they're doing two things. You know.
One of the things I've I've talked when people have
asked me, you know, where where did the Rockies go forward?
And I think some of the things they've looked at
the last couple of years, incrementally Cleveland, for example, who
does a great job of developing pitchers. And there are

(09:56):
many fasts to it, but one of the things they
always do they take college pitchers because they think one
they're farther along, we can accelerate their development. And even
if there's some high school kid with great tools, injury
or some challenge but befalls them and they don't make there.

(10:17):
And if you look at the Rockies draft and the
late teens, you know Peter Lambert and Riley Pint and
Mike Nickerak, and there were a group of very highly
touted not just by the Rockies but baseball people in general,
high school pitchers, and Peter is overplaying in Asia and

(10:38):
the rest of them are out of the game. And
you know, Cleveland and Milwaukee does it. They draft college pitchers,
and they draft college pitchers of various types. But the
last couple of years, that's what the Rockies have done.
They've had a little tough luck with like Gabriel Hughes
and some others who have gotten hurt McCabe brown, but

(11:01):
you know, they've taken college guys who they think they
can accelerate a little bit. And then the second part
of it is if you asked somebody who didn't have,
you know, the baggage, I don't want to say baggage,
but didn't have the experience of you know, Blake Street
Bombers or you know Todd Helton and the guys in
seven and all of that. Who would be one of

(11:25):
the most exciting players for the Rockies this year? For me,
it's Tyler Freeman. And he's just like that young man
from Wake Forest in that Yeah, he's not going to
hit a whole lot of home runs, but he's going
to steal bases, he can put the ball in play,
he's going to have an on base percentage over four hundred.
And I really think that the Rockies need to, I

(11:52):
don't want to say change their philosophy, but maybe massage
their philosophy and draft more or back to ball contact
skills with great athleticism, because in that big ballpark, you know,
for all the home runs that get hit, there are
a lot more of them that drop in front of
the outfielders because they're playing deep or go down the

(12:15):
alleys or down the lines, and that you know, the
Giants come in and they beat the Rockies pretty consistently
the last couple of years. Without much power. They just
put the ball in play, and I think the Rockies
are realizing while six foot four, six foot five sluggers
are great, if your whole team is that, you're either

(12:36):
hitting home runs or striking out, and that's not a
good formula.

Speaker 3 (12:41):
Over the past couple of years, we've only seen a
couple of players make the All Star from the Rockies
two years ago of his Das and when you think
about what he did winning the MVP with that eight
inning home run, and then this year, I guess the
biggest bright spot for the Rockies in my opinion, has
been a Hunter Goodman. I mean, what more can this

(13:02):
organization do far as developing to get more players in
the Midsummer.

Speaker 2 (13:07):
Classic A great question, Nick, and I think, unfortunately for
the Rockies and the fans have to you know, kind
of suffer through the period. I mean, they had, you know,
one to the postseason and seventeen and eighteen with that group,
but in the in the draft from like maybe sixteen

(13:30):
or seventeen through maybe twenty one or twenty two. As
I alluded to with some of those high school kids,
they basically want to o for the draft, or they didn't.
They didn't get a bona fide foundation piece, if you will,

(13:51):
and have had more success with later round guys Hunter
Goodman example, I mean he's a fourth round pick. I
think they want to have more success in the international
market besides just An Ezekiel Tobar, who I think really
has impacted on this year with unfortunately all the time

(14:11):
he has missed with injury. But I think it's a
reassessment Nick and Benjamin and I were talking about it
earlier today. It's a reassessment of what you want your phosophy,
philosophy to be to be successful. And one of the
challenges of the Blake Street Bomber philosophy just to use

(14:32):
that as a title. Even in their heyday, it didn't
play as well on the road back the ball skills
play everywhere, and I think from a Rockies perspective, I
think they're starting to realize that. For you know, every
Ryan McMahon, who you love for his defense and for

(14:54):
the power one, he's in a good groove, having you know,
several more or Tovars and Freeman's and even a Mickey
moniac in the trade. I think that's the way they
need to approach things moving forward.

Speaker 1 (15:13):
Well, Jack, we always appreciate to be integracious with your time.
We're up against that. We got to head out, but
look forward to seeing you there on Sunday. Thanks you, Jez.

Speaker 2 (15:20):
Sounds great, Benjamin, good to talk with you. Guys. Always
look forward to the next one.

Speaker 1 (15:26):
Absolutely, take care. Jack Corgan, Voice of the Colorado Rockies.
We come back, Ryan Blackbird's gonna Joys talk a little
NBA Rockles country night back after this. I'm sorry what
I'm gonna get Chase Daniels the show here soon. I
was cracking some jokes about him being the all time
bag getter or whatever, and so he slid in the

(15:47):
DMS say, yeah, we were laughing at because he just
got let go at FS one or whatever, and they
had that news today. But we'll get to that nonsense later.
But yeah, so he's gonna be on the show here
the next couple of weeks. When we get him on him,
I'm gonna get him to write the Finesse Hall of
Fame book on how to you know, how to finesse
that cash? Maybe maybe I can get a forward in

(16:08):
there or something. I don't know the back cover, like
how did get paid? And do very do nothing? Chase
Daniels living the dream five six nine year old texs
like we're going to run right back out to the
Kiwi couch with the hotline though and being on a
guy Ryan Blackburn and a Blackburn on Twitter right.

Speaker 4 (16:22):
How you doing, buddy, I'm doing well with Ellas.

Speaker 2 (16:26):
Thanks for having me on.

Speaker 1 (16:27):
Yeah, it's good to talk to you as always. It
looks like the Nuggets got the Jonas situation, uh satiated
at least for now. What do you think this means
for the Nuggets and specifically Nicola Jokic going into this season.

Speaker 2 (16:42):
I think it's a great thing.

Speaker 4 (16:43):
I think this is one of the one of the
rare times that the Nuggets have had a backup center
that they feel very confident in in pretty much all
aspects where you know that you go to Jokic for
post up scoring, for some passing, for rebounding first thing
like that on a consistent basis, He's a better playmaker
than yonasal Tunis is. But you know, This is a

(17:05):
good backup scorer. He's somebody who you could throw the
ball to in the post on occasion. He'll fight on
the offensive glass. He'll do a lot of the same
mechanical things the Jokich will do when he's on the floor.
Where he's on the kind of the same places on
the floor. He could shoot a little bit. He's a
little bit better and more diverse than somebody like a
DeAndre Jordan has been. Zignagi has been kind of likens

(17:30):
him back to DeMarcus Cousins a little bit with his
brief stint with Denver back in twenty twenty two. David
Adaman compared it to him recently, and I don't think
that's a bad comparison at all.

Speaker 3 (17:40):
Well, if we think about the Nuggets and this upcoming season,
obviously having big man play on your team, multiple big men.
To me, that's kind of coming back due to Okay, see,
but last year doing the summer league, the Nuggets draft
pick Deron Holmes the second.

Speaker 1 (17:58):
He got injured, and looking.

Speaker 3 (18:01):
Towards his outlook and how we can help this team, Well,
what do you first, Let me back for a second,
what are you thinking about what he's doing?

Speaker 1 (18:08):
In the summer league.

Speaker 3 (18:09):
And second, how can he help this team as far
as being in a rotation, Yeah, he.

Speaker 4 (18:15):
Can definitely help them. I'm not sure how much he's
going to be able to be an every night kind
of player under every circumstance, because when you're Denver and
you have the rotation now that they do, you can
kind of pick and choose how you deploy certain young players,
and you want to wait for their skill sets to
develop and make sure that they are as helpful as possible.

Speaker 2 (18:37):
In the right circumstance.

Speaker 4 (18:39):
And so what he will provide is a little bit
of hustle, a little bit of rebounding, a little bit
of spacing. For sure, his shot has looked really good
in summer league. That's something that I was wondering about
if he was going to play power board, because what
we're kind of finding a summer league is that he's
not really big enough to play center on a basis

(19:01):
he's six', nine he's a little bit. Slight still trying
to figure out how to use his body to his.
Advantage he'll be getting his FIRST nba, minutes, obviously coming
off of a torn, achilles you're still trying to figure
it stuff out on that. Front So i've been pretty
impressed with the way that he's handled. It he's a,
smart HIGH iq defender that'll help him get on the,

(19:22):
floor AND i do think he'll help them with this.
Year maybe not to the degree that like A rookie
of The year is going, to but he'll certainly help.

Speaker 1 (19:30):
Them you, know one of the the the off season
STORYLINES i was pretty curious. ABOUT i Knew Bradley beal
is never going, to you, know suit up with The suns.
Again they finally got that. Done he's going to be
over with The clippers, now a big time underperformer based
on what they. Pay we're looking for In. Phoenix but
do you think The clippers could be getting a steel here.

Speaker 4 (19:52):
With bradley deal skiell. SET i, mean it's a little
bit different when you're being paid fifty million versus when
you're being paid five. Million you can can stomach some
of the fault some of the flaws in the game
when somebody's scoring eighteen points a. Night he's not gonna
do that for The, CLIPPERS i don't. Think but he
is kind of in the mold of A Norman, powell

(20:15):
somebody who they just let. Go they just traded him
For John. Collins BUT i really like what The clippers
have done sort of operating around the edges Of Kawhi
Leonard James. Harden they added for G, lopez they Added John,
collins and now they Add Bradley beale to kind of
replace some of that guard. Scoring he'll get a lot of.
Opportunities he will be. Helpful still don't know if it's

(20:36):
going to affect The clippers too terribly positively because it
all comes down To kawhi And harden for, them And
i'm still a little bit shaky on those.

Speaker 3 (20:44):
Guys so this question may put a little you, know
Some nuggets fans on edge and may have them to,
be you, know upset with.

Speaker 1 (20:52):
Me but the hell with. It when you think about
the title that.

Speaker 3 (20:56):
The team won in twenty twenty, three they had a
nice start. Lineup now you get to TRAY mpj For Cam.
Johnson with that being, said does The nuggets now have
a better starting lineup now than he had in twenty twenty.

Speaker 4 (21:13):
Three that's a good question because you kind of you
exchange Out Michael porter For Cam. Johnson those guys ARE
i would, say fun house mirror versions of each. Other
one of those guys a little bit of a better.
FITS i Think Michael porter a little bit more top
end talents from a scoring and rebounding, perspective but you
also SUBSTITUTE kcv and what he provided on a consistent

(21:37):
basis that year from a defensive, standpoints from a spacing,
standpoint good role player and veteran in the locker room
For Christian, brown WHO i think, Objectively Christian brown is
a little bit better from an impact, standpoint but maybe
not necessarily from a fit standpoint just. Yet SO i

(21:58):
think they're about the. Same they're they're slightly different from each.
Other it'll be interesting to see how This nugget starting
lineup fits together and whether it can be a better
number from a like a net rating of value impact
standpoint than previous. Years BUT i do think the bench
is considerably better than it was that, season So denver

(22:18):
might be able to make up some of the difference.

Speaker 1 (22:19):
There talking With Ryan, blackburn, look this has been an
interesting season in terms of free agency. Offseason in terms
of free, AGENCY i think The nuggets got significantly. BETTER
i think that there you, know there were a few
fluke plays if you maybe hang on to it's a
way for BEATING okac and probably putting themselves in position
to be in the finals there Against pacers. Team you

(22:42):
look at what they. DID i think they're. Strong they're
they're stronger top to. Bottom the question is did The
west get stronger top to? Bottom the interesting, question, Really,
breton to drill down on that point would be The
lakers This DeAndre eaton. Thing do you think The lakers
are going to be much of a threat in The?

Speaker 4 (22:57):
West you, know, NO i. DO i think that The
lakers are in a really weird state of flux right
now where people are not necessarily sure Whether Lebron james
is actually happy to be, there wanting to be, there
desiring to play there. Anymore as this Becomes Luka doncica's,
team it does feel like they are still in a

(23:18):
period of. Transition Like lebron is not at the peak
of his. Powers luca will be in this next. SEASON
i do think they will be, very very motivated after
what happened this past season getting traded and sort of
the hit that that took on his. Reputation but around,
them they still have not done enough from a role player,
standpoint from a versatility, standpoint to really make up for the.

(23:42):
Difference Losing Dorian Phinney smith for them was actually a
really big. Deal and while they did add a young
guy In Jake laurabia who's Okay DeAndre, ayton who should
fit pretty well for what they, need they still don't
necessarily have the trustable playoffs talents THAT i think that
you would definitely want from a playoff. Contender SO i

(24:05):
think there's still a piece or two, away and they've
got The lebron situation kind of hanging over all of
it will be interesting to see whether they can handle that.

Speaker 3 (24:13):
Well, now we all know in the past couple of
years that The nexaxicans score, points they can fill up
the stat, sheet but the biggest issue had to do
with bench.

Speaker 1 (24:23):
Play and you, know some league is always.

Speaker 3 (24:25):
An opportunity for young players to really showcase their ability
and have those first.

Speaker 1 (24:30):
Impressants so when you go back to you.

Speaker 3 (24:33):
Know last next game Or tuesday game Where Curtis jones
had twenty points and one oh one ninety seven loss
to The, raptors do you think that the coaches are
looking at this young guard and, saying, look this is
a guy that could potentially based on what he's doing
In Sudden league be a key cod for our bench
this upcoming.

Speaker 4 (24:52):
Season it'll be interesting to. See i'm not sure if
he's at the top of their packing order or for
what they're hoping for or it might, be but they've
already filled two of their two way spots With Tamar,
bates who got to start yesterday in place Of Hunter,
typan And Spencer, jones who's been starting through up and

(25:12):
pretty good defensively. THROUGHOUT i do think That Curtis, jones
we knew he could, score and it was really good
to see him kind of show, that and has shown
that a couple of times in each of the past
two games as. Well BUT i do think that if
there was a, name it's actually the one who was
thrown out of the, game E. J, ladell who had

(25:34):
five blocks in that game last night before getting ejected
for a flagrant. Too so interesting to see some of
the developments. Here denver will probably not fill their two
way spot with any.

Speaker 2 (25:45):
Of the guys on their.

Speaker 4 (25:46):
ROSTER i would, YET i would think that they would
go around the league continue to look at some other,
guys because that's the good thing About Summer league is
you're not necessarily limited to limited to just your own.
Roster you can go look around at some of the options.
Available i'm not sure anybody has fully stood out in
terms of what they would need for next. YEAR i

(26:08):
do think Maybe Tyrrel harrison probably not the right, guy
but some other big like him would make some. Sense
but if they're looking for a, score you don't have
to go far Because Curtis jones would be your.

Speaker 1 (26:18):
Guy talking With Ryan blackburn at THE Nba blackburn On.
Twitter you, know with all the additions that they've, made
it's sort of been a repudiation of What Calvin booth
was trying to do with the youth. Movement and some
of those guys look like they might be in. Trouble
there's only enough minutes and enough basketball to go around,
between you, Know murray And brown And Cameron johnson And

(26:39):
gordon And jokich And jonas And Bruce brown And Tim Hardwood.
Junior and what does this mean For Peyton, Watson Julius
strath And Jalen. Pickett it feels like one of those
guys is probably the odd man.

Speaker 2 (26:50):
OUT i think it might be two.

Speaker 4 (26:53):
GUYS i honestly think that there is a world where
there might even be some games where none of them,
play and that is both a benefit and detriment For
denver because they're roster is a lot.

Speaker 2 (27:06):
BETTER i think you.

Speaker 4 (27:07):
Can make a justifiable case That denver's if they went
with a nine minute rotation next, year that it would
Be Bruce, Brown Tim, Hardaway, Junior Jonas, valanciunis and maybe
Even zignagi maybe one of, him Or Deron holmes as
kind of another big that you can throw into the.

Speaker 2 (27:26):
Mix but that.

Speaker 4 (27:27):
Doesn't Include Peyton, watson it doesn't Include Julian, strather it
doesn't Include jail And, picket all guys That denver has
put a lot of stock into over the course of
the past couple of. Years so it's on them to
continue to, improve to continue to make themselves. Invaluable because
what you have to show to a coaching, staff you
guys know, this is that you can't be taken off the,

(27:48):
field that you just have to have a versatile skill.
Set you have to have a wide ranging of abilities
that coaches are going to, like that they're going to,
value and right, Now denver needs those guys to continue
to develop the skill. Sets it can't just be. Potential
it has to.

Speaker 3 (28:04):
Reproduction you know, What i'm glad you brought Up Zeke
nagy BECAUSE i, Mean zeke is going into his fifth
year and he's a first former first round pick back
in twenty, twenty And i'm, wondering what is it about
his game that hasn't developed to a point where he's
seeing more? Minutes now we see him in minutes where

(28:26):
the team is blown out or they have a massive
lead of another. Team but what is it About Zeke
nagy's game that you feel as though the coaches have
not settle into enjoying or he hasn't really developed as a.

Speaker 4 (28:38):
Player, yeah he's had trouble handling the backup center. Position
there's a couple of reasons beyond that as to why
things have not necessarily worked. OUT i don't think his.
Transition so he started his career as a really high
level shooter from the, outside and then each of the
past three years has been pretty shaky from an outside.

(28:59):
Jumper so he's never been a good finisher around the,
rim somebody who operates well in. Traffic he has to
find ways to score despite, that and if he's not doing,
that then you have to be great, defensively but his
skill set as a defensive. Center somebody who gets that
rebounded a lot of the, time that could be really.

(29:21):
Frustrating like last, year for, example he averaged just one
point six rebounds per. Game i'm looking at it, here
only averaged just over ten. Minutes but that's still not
a number that you can really be proud. Of you
need to be Like denver has. Been it's been so
important for them to get better as a rebounding team
from the second. Unit now that you've Got valanciunison there

(29:43):
from the center, spot he'll move over to the power
forward if you're a. Technogia i'm sure he is thrilled about.
That so we'll see whether he can earn some time
Over Peyton. Watson BUT i would still give the nod To.
Peyton he's a guy that they have a lot of
stock in. Ed we'll see what they actually can tramplate.

Speaker 1 (30:01):
That Ryan blackbird added Me blackbird On. Twitter we appreciate
it as.

Speaker 2 (30:05):
Always, Ryan thanks mank.

Speaker 1 (30:08):
Tick absolutely take. CARE i got a little bit OF
nfl news we were talking earlier about only two players
from the second round has. SIGNED a third player has now,
Signed Alfred collins the forty nine or second round selection
forty third, overall agreed to a four, year ten point
three million dollar deal that includes over nine million of

(30:28):
that guaranteed and is now expected to trigger multiple second round.
Signings up until, now only thirty of the thirty two
second round picks remained without a. Deal collins well have
eighty eight percent of his overall deal, guaranteed and that
is a huge jump from last year's number forty three.
Pick not fully, guaranteed but still a big jump from
where they were last.

Speaker 3 (30:47):
Year anything you can get is better than nothing at.
All AND i know the owners are up in arms,
about especially with the colusion stuff about guaranteed, money but
this is not going to hurt their.

Speaker 1 (30:59):
Pockets, no, no it's it's really. NOT i mean you're
talking about a four, year ten point three million dollar
deal that's a little over two and a half million a. Year,
uh that's that's. Nothing so good For Alfred collins forgetting
that being the third domino there to fall in that
second round for so for people who are On Rie,
harvey people who are ON. Rj, harvey watch keep your
eye out as the new president for second rounders is
not one hundred percent. Guaranteed eighty eight percent guaranteed is

(31:21):
the new. NUMBER i EXPECT. R. J harvey to come
in around eighty five percent. Guaranteed as that gets gets going.
Here as as we're waiting on, that and we have
some other breaking news, here The Washington commanders have Signed
broncos legend Von. Miller that's, Right Dan quinn has added
Von miller to the. Defense Nikki javala, reporting Coach, bagano we,

(31:46):
gotta we, gotta we gotta make a. Call we gotta
call real quick, here so we'll see how that. Goes but,
yeah that is uh, uh that is great stuff right.
There as Von miller joins The Washington, commanders what a,
uh what an absolute get for them And Dan. Quaick
they played The broncos this, year they do we get

(32:07):
to Chance von come. Back, yeah you play it on
a primetime. Game excellent In, denver this will be his
first return To denver since he moved. Over they've Played,
von BUT i don't think they've Played von In denver
since he got moved. Right, no it was In, Buffalo,
yeah that was The Buffalo and did he play in that?
GAME i don't even remember if he played in that.
Game when he hurt or suspended or. Something you know.

Speaker 3 (32:26):
What either, way whether he played or, not he didn't
really kind of show.

Speaker 1 (32:30):
Up but it's gonna be interesting. Now we'll figure it.
Out all this breaking news when we come, back you.
