Speaker 1 (00:00):
Voice of the Rockies, Jack Corgan and Ryan Blackburn for
joining us in the last hour. You just stay part
of that. You go to Broncos Country dot Com, Slash Podcast,
Tour preverage podcast, Apple iTunes, Spotify, the free and redesigned
iHeartRadio app nailed it. We're getting closer. Let's start there,
but we're getting closer. Almost nailed it. Where you can
you can get as well. Reacting to the big news,

(00:20):
former Bronco and future Hall of Famer Von Miller has
signed a one year deal with the Washington Commanders, and
that is a team with experience on it. Between him
and Bobby Wagner, they got like a combined twenty seven
years in the NFL.

Speaker 2 (00:35):
That's wow. Here's what I like about what they're doing.

Speaker 3 (00:39):
And it goes back to the time I spend in
San Francisco, adding veteran players that go along with young,
young on stars.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
And I know some.

Speaker 3 (00:50):
Teams don't really like that because they want to go
uber young. I don't believe that always works because having
that veteran leadership and that playoff experience in the room.
It's viol at what happened with Von when he left here.
He was he went and played with the Rams. They
went to the Super Bowl. Obviously he went to the
Buffalo Bills they didn't. But that was a very competitive team.

(01:11):
And just think about what Jalen Jane Daniels excuse me
and the Washington Commanders were able to do last year
and how close they were.

Speaker 2 (01:20):
I mean they were so freaking close.

Speaker 1 (01:23):
Well so close again, so far away. The Eagles did come,
but yeah, one game away.

Speaker 3 (01:28):
So you add von Miller to a defense that has
a lot of experience, and you know Dad Quinn who
was I guess almost the coach here at one point twice. Yes,
he knows exactly how to use guys and put him
in different positions. And let's be totally honest, we're not
expecting to say that we're going to see thirty five

(01:51):
plays from von in any given game. He knows where
he is at this standpoint, and Coach Quinn is going
to get or maximized the most that he can and
production out of Vonnie Cassel. I'm really exciting because if
I'm not mistaken, the Bronco's going to road to watch
them week twelve.

Speaker 1 (02:08):
Yeah, and they will play, uh will play the Commander,
So a chance to see him, uh, he stands to
get as much playing times as he can handle, because
that that the edge rushers is the weak portion of
what they've got there in Washington. You look at the
interior that line, they've got Javon Kinlaw, Deron Page or
Sohn Newton and Eddy Goldman. That's that's a pretty good, uh,
you know, two deep in terms of the defensive tackles.
But on the edge is you got Doren's Armstrong and

(02:29):
Dietrich Wise with Jacob Martin and Clellan Ferrell backing them off.
That that's not a lot of great pass rushing and
they're okay, but that's not a great pass rushing experience.
Von figures to get all the pass rushing that he
can handle. Their best pass rusher is probably Frankie Loufvio
coming out of the will uh playing that sort of
Micaeh Parsons role.

Speaker 2 (02:47):
You know, I like him, Yeah, I like him.

Speaker 4 (02:49):
He's a bad mess.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
He's he's probably their best pass rusher, pure pass rusher
overall out of that will spot. And I wonder if
they might use Von out of that as well, since
they got a four man front and Vin could be
standing up coming out of that will playing in that role,
rotating through with with Frank Louver as well. So I
think there's there's options for him in that defense. Obviously,
Adam Peters was a scout with the Broncos when they

(03:12):
drafted him. Coach PAGs Coach Paggs was his uh, his
linebackers coach for for what two seasons I think here
in Denver, so uh, there's there are connections there. Obviously,
he had other teams interested, including Detroit, but it looks
like a one year deal for Vin with the Washington
Commanders and a chance for the Broncos. Broncos will go
then they play at Washington. Washington's not coming here, We're

(03:32):
playing at Washington, but chance to stack up against the
Broncos again in terms of you know, this year, I
believe in November. Yeah, tiebreaker.

Speaker 5 (03:41):
I think he's won on one against the Broncos in
his career right now, so this will be the one
probably for all the marbles.

Speaker 1 (03:47):
I think this is probably it for Vaughn. Maybe not,
but and.

Speaker 5 (03:50):
Also it positions himself well to try and get another ring.

Speaker 1 (03:54):
You know, he he went for that with the Rams.

Speaker 5 (03:56):
I think the Broncos helped facilitate that to an extent
obviously he was going for that with the Bills. Bills
have been pretty close over the last few years, haven't
gotten the job done. Washington's another team that's right there
knocking at the door and can maybe get Von that
third ring, which would strengthen it already pretty strong Hall
of Fame case.

Speaker 1 (04:13):
Yeah. Von is currently twenty fifth on the all time
sack list. A ten sacks season this year would move
him to to eleventh, in a tie with Jason Taylor.
Just about everybody ahead of him on the list is
in the Hall of Fame. The only people that are
not in the Hall of Fame or Jim Marshall who's

(04:33):
getting in, Al Baker, Leslie O'Neill, and John Abraham, those
are the only guys ahead of him that the Chorrell
Suggs who was getting in. Those are the only guys
who ahead him on the sacks old time sacks lists
that are not in the Hall of Fame currently.

Speaker 3 (04:45):
This is great for Von because this is a position
that most vetement players don't really find themselves in because
the ideas some people think, well, you know what, you are,
pasture prime and there's no more They day can kind
of squeeze from the production standpoint. But going to a
team that's young, you have a guy as a head

(05:06):
coach of Dan Quinn, who is, I guess, in my opinion,
a great defensive mind. Knows how to put guys in
situations and to allow Vaughn to be maybe in a
stand up linebacker position on you know, the third down
package or as I would call a NASCAR package to me,
now you take advantage of every single guy's ability and

(05:28):
once again you jokely talked about it Bobby Wagner in
a number of years that they have collectively together like
Bobby Wagner couldn't and Vaughn would not end up on
any other teams other than Washington in my opinion, because
people will look at him and say, well, they're too
long into two and they can't play.

Speaker 1 (05:46):
But Dan likes that experience, they like having better leadership.

Speaker 2 (05:49):
Yes, because it says a lot in the locker of me.
You watch these.

Speaker 3 (05:53):
Guys who have won Super Bowls, right, guys who have
competed in this league at a high level, and we
know that their careers are tapeming taping off, and they
know it too as well. But to know that someone
still has faith in you to say, well, we're going
to put you in the right position to be successful.
How can you not love that?

Speaker 1 (06:11):
Yeah, the numbers I was quoting earlier with from the
unofficial list the official list, VN is actually sixteenth, and
a nine sack or ten sacks season would put him
at would put him in eighth all time, right there
with with Jason Taylor and Terrell Suggs in that mix,
you know as well. And I think VN can probably
get eight or nine sacks in this defense if they

(06:33):
use him judiciously. I mean, it's been the last couple
of seasons that he's had in Buffalo. We're not not
particularly great, you know, only telling six sacks, all of
which came last year. But you know, his first season
in Buffalo he got eight sacks. He had nine and
a half in that split season with Denver and the Rams.
So you know, I think I think getting hitting eight

(06:53):
nine sacks is probably feasible, and that certainly puts him
in rare air when it comes to, you know, the
old time sacks. You want to talk about the official
list that nobody's catching Bruce Smith or Reggie White at
one hundred, ninety eight and two hundred, But he he is,
you know, he's somebody who can get himself into that
that straight hand tier that Jason Taylor, Torell Subgs tier

(07:15):
in past. Maybe his old mentor DeMarcus Ware, who's h
he's only what I think nine sacks away from passing passion.
DeMarcus Ware.

Speaker 3 (07:22):
I think this is probably what sold Vaughn on Washington.
Like you mentioned, Detroit was possibly in the mix. But
knowing as though you're going to the NFC, right and
when you look at the quarterbacks in the NFC opposed
to the AFC, a lot of those guys are stationary targets.
So when if they're sitting at eight yards, they're gonna

(07:45):
be at eight yards.

Speaker 4 (07:45):
When you get there.

Speaker 3 (07:47):
And if the back end can kind of hold up
the way I think AP and coach Quinn hopes they
can hold up. Because Marshall Latimore, who they got last season,
and I guess the Trey with the New Orleans Saints,
there was a lot of expectations for him, but he
had a bad hamstring. If he's healthy for the majority

(08:09):
of the season, it now changes what you can do defensively,
and von sack total could go up because if the
three season he had in bothalo them think first year
was eight none and none the second year, and then yes,
I believe that number those numbers could escalate, knowing as
though he's in a division that he's in right now.

Speaker 1 (08:28):
Yeah, at ten sacks feels like a attainable goal in
that division.

Speaker 3 (08:35):
He might be able to get that twice against the
igainst the New York Giants with But we don't know
who's going to be the quarterback.

Speaker 2 (08:46):
I know was rooting for.

Speaker 1 (08:51):
I'll tell you the right I think he might be
Jackson Dart.

Speaker 5 (08:53):
I'm fade in all the Russell Wilson stat lines this year,
but Michael Strand, there's a big gap at the five
and six spot between Chris Dolman and Michael stre And.

Speaker 1 (09:01):
There's a nine sack gap there.

Speaker 5 (09:03):
But number six, if we get two healthy seasons of
von Miller here, number six all time is very attainable.

Speaker 1 (09:09):
He's only twelve sacks off that right now. It would
be a lot for.

Speaker 5 (09:12):
Him to do that in one year at this point
in his career. But if he gets two more healthy seasons,
I think that's very knows that Here's.

Speaker 2 (09:19):
Where I'm not saying it's gonna happen, but I mean, I'm.

Speaker 3 (09:24):
Very optimistic in watching von do this because here's what
we do know. The Washington Commander is gonna score a
lot of points this year. So that's gonna take the
opposing offense out of a balance and tag you're not
going to just be able to run the ball and
kill the clock. You're gonna have to score points. And
what that means is excellent for guys who know how.

Speaker 2 (09:42):
To turn the corner.

Speaker 3 (09:43):
And Von still is one of the better guys in
the league with that low band around the corner.

Speaker 1 (09:48):
Yeah, he's gonna get opportunities in this defense. So, like
I said, there's different things you can do. So four
man front, so you can put him at the defensive end,
which is what he played in college at A and M.
It's sort of what he did there at Buffalo. Uh,
you know when they put him at the end there.
But you can also put him in kind of that
will role. And in Dan Quinn's defense, that's a different role.
That's where Parsons, Michael Parsons played, Uh where you know

(10:09):
you were You're technically kind of an off ball backer,
but really you're you're moving around to shoot the gap.
You get a chance to right, and so there's you know,
they a little bit of time, they'll put you in
coverage with kind of that robot technique. But beyond that,
I mean, you're you're you're getting a chance to rush
the pass or we saw what Michael Parson was able
to do. We saw Frankie Louv like I said last year,
able to get double digit sacks out of that role
and was probably their best peer of pass rusher. So

(10:31):
that gives you a little bit of options, uh to
use Von Miller in and I think it's a I
think it's a good fit.

Speaker 2 (10:37):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (10:37):
Once again, I really like this for Ron and if
if there was gonna be a way that his career
kind of a swan song, if you will, this is
the best way because most players, I mean, you just
get kicked to the curve. I mean you don't have
that that second or third act. So right now, this
is kind of the third and final act for for Vn.

(11:00):
And you know they shot at with ap making this
making this happen, right and knowing Von knowing with Vaughn
wants at this particular time, and just kind of seeing
the opportunity where you can bring in a good player,
you can help your locker room. But also you can
be competitive on the edges by von still at this

(11:20):
point pushing guys, not not von Miller eight years ago,
but he still has a way that he would be
able to push those edge rushers for the Commanders.

Speaker 1 (11:28):
Yeah, it kind of reminds me the career arc of
Dwight Freeney, you know how there after the long run
with the Colts, and then he had a couple of
years of the charge with Rodgers and the Cardinals, the Falcons,
and then that twenty seventeen season he played for the
Seahawks and the Lions both. You know, most people don't
remember that.

Speaker 2 (11:45):
But man, if they're still willing to pay you to
yet three.

Speaker 1 (11:48):
More, three more sacks out of it at thirty seven
years old, So you know, I mean, that's that's the thing.
Adding to that, that career total, and you know, and
and adding to your legacy. You know, overall, I think
Dwight Freeney as a Hall of Famer either way. But
you know, I mean, you know, if you still have
the passion the fire to go out there and do it,
they're willing to pay you to do it. I mean,
you know, more power to you. But Yeah, he'll join

(12:09):
a defensive line that that has Dorin's Armstrong and Aron Paige,
Javon Kinlaw, Dietrich Wise, Clin Ferrell, Jacob Martin, Jerson Newton,
and Eddie Goldman's. That's a pretty pretty decent Now, the
edge rush potential isn't exactly a whole bunch there, but
they got some big bodies that can that can go
in there.

Speaker 3 (12:23):
Put it this way, if I told you that if
it's Von Miller's shoes that you will when a Super
Bowl with the Broncos, you'd be MVP. Things that started
to taper off, you get, you get, you would leave
the Broncos only to go to the Rams, get another ring.

Speaker 2 (12:42):
Get another ring, go to Buffalo, get a bag.

Speaker 3 (12:46):
Statistically you go them taper off just a little, but
you gotta get another opportunity to play with the Commanders
and one of the better young quarterbacks and Jaydon Daniels.

Speaker 2 (12:57):
We're gonna pay you, but we're going to reduce the
amount of plays that you play. Are you thinking that deal?

Speaker 1 (13:04):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (13:04):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (13:04):
And Von is a guy who's already earned over one
hundred and eighty eight million over the course of his career.
You know, he's gonna he could be close to two
hundred million here after this. Put the money in the
bag with the fries, and the money in the bag
put him Yeah, just yeah, I mean he's he's you know,
he's gonna come away with this having made a ton
of money.

Speaker 5 (13:23):
Sorry, that one eighty eight number I was getting ready
right now. That's the most ever in NFL history for
an edge rusher, I actually believe, yes, the most ever
for a defensive player. Second most all time for a
position player, behind only Trent Williams.

Speaker 1 (13:37):
Oh yeah, I was just trying to figure out who
the other one was because I was like, that's pretty
close to top non QB money. Uh.

Speaker 2 (13:43):
This's a hell of a career for Vall.

Speaker 4 (13:45):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (13:45):
I mean, you got a couple of Super Bowls, a
Super Bowl MVP, and you know you've been a pro bowler,
an All Pro. Uh, you're going to end up in
the top ten all time, and you know in the
career in sacks in the league, Oh, absolute first ballot
Brods Ring of Famer.

Speaker 4 (14:01):
Sure.

Speaker 1 (14:01):
Yeah, and that's uh, that's another one that we need
to you know. But anyway, congrats to von Miller on
signing with the Washington Command. Yeah, and uh, that's that's
that's been the big news we even you know, we
didn't get a chance to talk much about the Collins,
the second rounder signing with the Niners there, which is
going to create domino effect for uh, for the rest

(14:22):
of these second rounders, and R. J. Harvey getting signed
here pretty soon.

Speaker 2 (14:27):
Good for Vn. I'm happy for him.

Speaker 3 (14:30):
I'm interested to see how this, if at all, rejuvenates him.
Do we see a more refined and fresh von Miller?

Speaker 4 (14:41):
I think we are.

Speaker 1 (14:42):
I think you will because he's coming back off that injury,
and and and I like, there's a couple of players
I think are going to be better this year than
people uh that people remember, Vaughn could be one of them.
Kirk Cousins was a guy who clearly was not recovered
from the injury that he I mean, you saw him
out there, but.

Speaker 2 (14:56):
He's not gonna get too better, too much better.

Speaker 1 (14:59):
Behind Well, let's just say, Penix Falters, you may see
him come back and have have a resurgen as a
comeback title your gay.

Speaker 2 (15:05):
I don't think they want that problem.

Speaker 3 (15:06):
And Sir Kurt back in there now you have a
quarterback situation, create a controversy.

Speaker 1 (15:12):
You don't want to watching spring training and you know
in preseason, watch watch watch Cousins ball out and then
all of a sudden with controversy, especially Penick struggles in
those games.

Speaker 2 (15:23):
We'll see, but what I'm here for, yeah, so I'll
be up for.

Speaker 1 (15:26):
Yeah. I mean, I don't know. Maybe Penis will be
something that I but I just did not see anything
last year that I was like, this is the dude.

Speaker 4 (15:32):
I was like, well, maybe well listen.

Speaker 3 (15:35):
Then the game that we think it was a Thursday
night game when the Falcons play play Washington Commanders. I mean,
I really saw Penix kind of grow up and had
he'd been he if he was able, and that was you.

Speaker 2 (15:51):
Know, bad coaching.

Speaker 3 (15:52):
And in my book, as far as when the time
was running out, they really gave him enough time.

Speaker 2 (15:57):
But he did show glimpses of what he could be
right like what he was with the Husky, Like what
what is loan.

Speaker 3 (16:07):
Long future projections could actually be so much better than
what Kirk Cousins has shown. And we saw that up
close and personal when the Falcons came here, Dad, we did.

Speaker 1 (16:15):
We got ANFL six pack. We come back Broncos Country. Tonight,
It's time for the NFL six pack.

Speaker 4 (16:25):
It's time for the NFL six pad. I'm gonna trink
it insight and insight information you can't find anywhere else.
The top six NFL headline.

Speaker 5 (16:37):
What starting off here with Nausei Harris and his fourth
of July fireworks accident. He in a fourth of July
fireworks accident, accidentally injured his eye and is now expected
to start training camp on the non football injury list.

Speaker 1 (16:57):
Does this affect how the Chargers backfield?

Speaker 5 (16:59):
We will break down this season ultimately in your opinions,
And if you were drafting for fantasy football this year,
which running back would you take first?

Speaker 2 (17:10):
Well?

Speaker 1 (17:10):
I would have taken a Marion Hampton first either way.
I think he's got more upside than than Naji Harris.
I think Naji you'll fit in the Gus Edwards role
from last year. I think that's what they'd always envisioned
for him. And your change of pace to be Kamandi Vidal.
You got us On Haskins in there as well, get
a sprinkling of carries, but Vadal is your You know
you're changing base with Marion Hanton's the guy. This is

(17:31):
just a smart move.

Speaker 2 (17:32):
This is what you do.

Speaker 1 (17:33):
I mean, he's got the eye injury. From a medical perspective,
you bring him in on the NFI, covers him for
insurance purposes. It's a smart thing to do. It's been
really weird the way stuff is information has rolled out
about this injury, because it came out a few days
before if the story broke, It came out on Reddit
that he had been in you know, in a fireworks accident,
and everybody didn't believe it. They're like, oh, no, no,

(17:53):
this is some internet rumor. Now he's fought whatever, And
now you got a guy who lost fingers and NAGI
is a issue, and yeah, it was a serious thing.
And it's been super weird the way this thing has
slow rolled itself out there.

Speaker 4 (18:06):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (18:06):
I think at this particular point, you got a six
foot two hundred plus running back and knowing that coach
Harbard wants to establish the run. I mean, just go
look at how he utilized his offense when he was
back in Michigan and also when he was with the
San Francisco forty nine ers. So Hampton is going to
be the Bill Kyle. But you know, you feel for
Najie Harris in this situation known as though Hey, you're

(18:28):
competing for a spot, and who's to say that you know,
things don't go well. I mean a kind of accident
during the fourth of July incident, even though they say
the wounds was superficial, could possibly keep him off inn
for a roster. But your question as far as which
running back, now you're talking about the Chargers or you're
talking about the league.

Speaker 2 (18:46):
As a whole.

Speaker 1 (18:47):
Between those two, which would you pull?

Speaker 3 (18:49):
Okay, okay, between the league, I mean those two running backs.
Amarin Hampton for sure, because you don't draft a guy
in the first round and.

Speaker 2 (18:57):
Not give him the bulk of the carries.

Speaker 5 (19:00):
I agree if they give him that workload they were
giving JK. Dobbins last year, when Hampton's just much more dynamic,
explosive back, I wouldn't be surprised.

Speaker 1 (19:09):
If he outproduces Ashton Gent.

Speaker 5 (19:11):
I mean, my money would be on genty, but I
think Hampton's got the better O line and a coach
that we know wants to beat him like crazy.

Speaker 1 (19:18):
Guys know, Hampton was my guy throughout the process on that,
and I was when the Chargers got him, boy, I
was I was like, Oh, they got a couple of
players that between him wide receiver Trey Harris and and
tighten to Roddy Guest and Junior. They got at three
of my guys in this draft the Chargers. I don't know.
We'll see how this stuff works out too.

Speaker 5 (19:39):
Cam Hayward told the media that although he was excited
when he initially saw the Steelers traded for Jayalen Ramsey,
he was quickly bummed to learn that it was in
exchange for.

Speaker 1 (19:50):
Me K and Fitzpatrick.

Speaker 5 (19:51):
He said he thought the trade was for some draft
capital or something and it was all in move for
the defense. How do you think Jalen Ramsey will mix
in that Pittsburgh Steevers locker room? And do you think
this is Cam Hayward's swan song in the NFL?

Speaker 1 (20:06):
Probably? Yeah. I mean Cam Harrod was drafted what in
twenty eleven, I think it was. He's been around fourteen years.
I mean, as long as he keep playing, wants to
keep playing, more power to him. But uh, they you
just get a little a little long in the tooth.
As as Nick put it earlier, I think Jayla rams
would be fine, you know, in that in that locker room.
I mean he's not the same player he used to be.
But you got a you got a pretty veteran group
there between Hayward, who we just talked about, Patrick Queen's

(20:28):
been in the league a little while. You got Darius
Slay who's been in the league a while. You know,
they've they've got plenty of veteran veterans in there. I
think that's that's one that that'll be fine. I get
you know, you're you're missing that Mika Fitzpatrick is there,
your buddy, He's gone now, okay? Cool. I mean it
reminds me a little bit of the story with when
the Broncos traded for US and the story started leaking out.

(20:49):
Shelby was was there teammate quarters working out and did
not realize that he was included in that trade. At
that point in time. Was celebrating the getting of a quarterback. Yeah, yeah,
Shelby was celebrating they were bringing Russ in and was
like getting all excited stuff, and then then got the yeah, yeah,
they got the taple the show and hey, George wants
to see up in the office.

Speaker 2 (21:07):
So this isna be really interesting.

Speaker 3 (21:10):
And to the point about Cam Hayward, I mean, what
a blessing to have played in the league.

Speaker 2 (21:16):
Fifteen seasons.

Speaker 3 (21:17):
Right, that is a blessing within itself. I think Jalen
Ramsey's gonna fit in, you know, perfectly.

Speaker 2 (21:23):
I don't know what his.

Speaker 3 (21:24):
Level of production is going to be, because, like you said,
he's not playing at a high level. But what I
do know is when you put a bunch of quality
edge rushes in front of him, I mean, he sits
on routes and he's gonna make plays. He's done that
everywhere he's been, from Florida State to Jacksonville. He did
it with the Rams, and he's gonna do it again

(21:44):
with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Speaker 1 (21:46):
One thing about Jalen Ramsey's role is gonna change a
little bit. He's gonna be in the nickel role for
the Steelers. He's gonna be on that inside, that slot
corner for the Steelers. So that's gonna be interesting. He
doesn't have to have the long speed. He's just there to,
you know, to take away that inside breaking.

Speaker 2 (22:00):
I mean.

Speaker 3 (22:00):
Okay, So that being said, he still would have to
be very physical playing that nickel position because that's no
different than being a wial linebacker guy.

Speaker 1 (22:09):
And he is, I mean, he's no for his physicality,
but he's lost a little bit.

Speaker 2 (22:12):
Of a society to him and run at him.

Speaker 1 (22:15):
Everybody remembers the Derrick Henery run.

Speaker 5 (22:17):
Even though they're protecting John Ramsey, you still have you know,
thirty two year old Farius player on the outside who
you know, maybe he gets fried and he's not gonna
have Mika Fitzpatrick over the top to help him.

Speaker 1 (22:27):
Yeah, the safety's on the top of Sean Elliott wan Thornhill.
Thorn Hill's a bit of a liability to me too.
And then you've got George Simmons on the other side.
Well that and that may be there are several teams
out there looking for justin to bring him in as well.
So do you think Cam Hayward is going and it
would go into the Hall of Fame As it stands
right now, he has four first Team All Pro nods

(22:47):
and seven Pro Bowls. Oh yeah, kim Hereward go the hole.
Not first ballot though, no, But he'll get the Hall.
He'll absolutely get the whole career that long in those
numbers at that position.

Speaker 2 (22:57):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (22:58):
Three legendary Saints tight end Jimmy Graham, one of Sean
Payton's guys, just set a record in rowing, not football,
with the fastest time to cross the Arctic Ocean come
again roughly four hundred and eighty four of an awfule
miles as part of a four person rowing team, so

(23:19):
it's not just him solo, but joined three other people
it looked like they were Norwegians and joined that four
person rowing team just crossed the Arctic Ocean, which again
five hundred and eighty four miles in just fifteen days,
five hours and thirty two minutes, all with the power
of rowing. What are your thoughts on this accomplishment from
the legendary tight end and who would you pick for

(23:42):
your three teammates if you had to row across the
Arctic Ocean.

Speaker 1 (23:46):
Okay, let me back up a little bit here, because
I had never even heard of this until you brought
this up here. This was in the Arctic Ocean for
fifteen plus days. Like they didn't get out, they did
like rowing, just rowing straight.

Speaker 2 (23:57):
How do they sleep in the little canoe like you
get out of the ocean, because they stayed in the
row bow.

Speaker 1 (24:04):
Just sleep and all that.

Speaker 5 (24:05):
It was like one of those when they you know,
go across the Pacific or the Atlantic or whatever.

Speaker 1 (24:10):
Man that that is an incredibly impressive monster the Arctic Ocean,
which is frigid. My thoughts on this are wow. First
of all, if I had to pick three teammates, I
mean I'm picking you, Nick and Grant just so you
guys can share the misery with me of going rowing
in the Arctic Ocean. You pick us three, We're all
time misery loves company.

Speaker 3 (24:29):
Well, first of all, what has three? Because I'm not
going like no, I'm not going no, but this is
this is this is great. I don't know what possessed
Jimmy who want to do this, but the Arctic Ocean.

Speaker 2 (24:43):
Amazing and for as many days and.

Speaker 3 (24:46):
As far as my teammates, I'm not picking any of
you guys. I'm going Superman, incredible, Hulk and thrower.

Speaker 5 (24:53):
Yes, Jimmy Graham did this to raise money for Covenant House,
New Orleans and Laurius Sports for Good New Orleans.

Speaker 1 (25:01):
It's a charity based on New Orleans. Of course.

Speaker 5 (25:03):
Their goal raising one million dollars, one dollar for every
meter road.

Speaker 1 (25:09):
Oh yes, it's just I don't even just think about it.

Speaker 2 (25:13):
That's twenty one.

Speaker 1 (25:14):
This was also the first mixed gender team of four
to row across the Arctic ocean and they set the
record first All American team to row across a polar ocean.
Graham becomes the first black person to roll or to
row a polar ocean.

Speaker 4 (25:30):
Man. Wow, I just.

Speaker 1 (25:31):
I'm so impressed by this, like oddball thing across this
and was I had my mind blown.

Speaker 2 (25:37):
Yeah, but twenty one days with very minimum.

Speaker 1 (25:40):
Sleep, That's what I'm saying, like midible food and you're
living out of the Arctic ocean.

Speaker 4 (25:44):
Jeez.

Speaker 1 (25:46):
Eighteen months of training for the event too.

Speaker 2 (25:49):
Eight eighteen months of training. Hey, more more power to him.
I mean that, dude, I give me a city.

Speaker 1 (25:56):
Average savage of the Arctic Ocean is like thirty three
degrees uh cold, nearly free, frozen. It comes like a hype.
I'm surpriss, not like hypothermia anyway, Okay, I'm sorry. I'm
just floored by this one.

Speaker 4 (26:09):
Yeah, I'm with you. It's Azact four.

Speaker 2 (26:12):
I'm with you.

Speaker 1 (26:13):
And I thought that was an old timer I found. CJ.

Speaker 5 (26:15):
Gardner Johnson said on the Pivot podcast that the Philadelphia
Eagles traded him because they were quote scared of a competitor.
What do you make of these comments? And has Gardner
Johnson finally found a long term home.

Speaker 2 (26:27):
With the Texans.

Speaker 1 (26:28):
Well, he walks some of his comments back lately on
some of that kind of stuff. First of all, this
line is absolute garbage.

Speaker 4 (26:33):
Schedule.

Speaker 1 (26:34):
The Eagles are scared of a competitor. I mean, I
get you gotta hype yourself off, but the Philadelphia Eagles
got plenty of competitors. I don't think they're scared of competitors.

Speaker 2 (26:41):
Didn't you just win the Super Bowl?

Speaker 1 (26:43):
I mean, Vic Fangio is afraid of guys who are
gonna compete. I mean, come on, dude, as far as
the rest of it goals, I mean, I get it
you're upset they traded you and all that kind of stuff,
but you're on the Texans now. I think he's I
think he's in a good spot for him. But Cejay's
a guy wears out a welcome in places. I mean,
he's got nobody to blame but himself for where an
is welcome in different locker rooms.

Speaker 2 (27:01):
I think this was just a.

Speaker 3 (27:02):
Case of Howie Roseman, the GM for the Eagles, taking
the page out of the book of the Patriots, the
whole Patriots way that you move all past players, and
the fact that they won a Super Bowl. He felt
as though this is the right time to shake things
up and kind of keep the revolving door players and
development coming through.

Speaker 2 (27:22):
So, I mean, players are always.

Speaker 3 (27:24):
Going to say certain things when they leave of the teams.
Now comes down to can't he back it up being
a member of the Texans.

Speaker 1 (27:31):
This feels like when people lose on like American Idol
or whatever, and Simon Cow's like talking, you know, talking
about and Simon Call's crop talking.

Speaker 4 (27:38):
You go see me again, you see me again.

Speaker 2 (27:41):
I'm not this in the end for me. You know
just what that this what this feels like they're scared
of a competitor, get.

Speaker 5 (27:45):
Out of here, and this is like the fourth team
to do this to you. It doesn't seem like an
Eagles problem.

Speaker 1 (27:51):
Yeah, after a while, the problem with the teams, it's
you five.

Speaker 5 (27:56):
George Kittle told Kay Adams that he believes brocks per
You will only continue to elevate his game now that
he's got his veteran contract extension. Do you agree with
Kittle that the best of brock Purty has yet to
come and do you think we will ever view party
Purty as a top ten quarterback.

Speaker 1 (28:15):
For the general public that well, George Kittle's saying what
you say about your quarterback. I don't think that he's
I mean, continue to elevate his game. He's going to
get better with age in terms of recognizing things. I
guess the problem is George Kittle's the only viable weapon
they have to throw to at this point with au
Kurt and Jawan Jennings winning out, So he might be
the only viable weapon they have to throw to at

(28:35):
this point. So you know, suit where his bread is buttered.
As far as that goes, I don't think he'll ever
be a top ten quarterback. I think he's kind of
just a guy and he works in that system. I
think that system elevates guys. And my evidence, if I
were saying that would be a point to Jimmy Garoppolo,
Well not.

Speaker 3 (28:48):
Just Jimmy Garoppolo, I mean you talked to you know,
Kirk Cousins. Yeah, look at the numbers that he put
up in that particular offense. And officially, you know, teams
catch up to you from a quarterback stamp, and when
you don't have viable weapons on the outside, it just
kind of takes away from you. Even though I know
Kyle Snahan is a brilliant offensive coordinator.

Speaker 2 (29:10):
I mean I think also too, I'll add.

Speaker 3 (29:13):
This individual won't look at him in that way because
he was myster irrelevant and that's gonna be hard for
him to overcome.

Speaker 5 (29:19):
Six last one for you here at his summer youth camp,
Micah Parsons said that he knows he's gonna get his
due as he negotiates a lucrative contract extension.

Speaker 1 (29:30):
With the Dallas Cowboys.

Speaker 5 (29:31):
Do you think Micah Parsons becomes the highest paid defensive.

Speaker 1 (29:34):
Player in league history?

Speaker 5 (29:35):
And if so, do you think the Cowboys have to
worry about becoming top heavy with the league's highest paid player,
highest paid defensive player, and third highest paid wide receiver.

Speaker 1 (29:45):
I think they're in the same boat that Cincinnati Musics
if they have the pay distributed to both sides of
the ballstead he's just one side of the ball. So
I mean, I don't know. I mean that offense is
probably gonna be pretty good and he's the best player
on that defense. Yes, I do believe he'll be the
the top paid guy. And the Dallas for whatever reason,
always waits till lighton and hoses themselves on these deals.

(30:07):
They're always the last ones to sign and hoses themselves
on these things. But I mean, we'll see if they
run into death concerns. The good news for them is
the Caps got some big jumps ahead of it over
the next five years because of broadcasting rights deals. So
the teams that do this stuff, they're gonna be okay
as long as they you know, as long as they're
able to, you know, to get those deals in quick.

Speaker 3 (30:28):
Even though this is not the way that Parsons in
his camp would have wanted things to be, it's gonna
work out perfectly for him because he's watching all these
guys stack bricks and actually get paid, And now he's
gonna roll right into a situation where he's going to
force Jerry's hand. And Jerry doesn't want another losing season,
especially with you know, cdee Lamb and you acquire, you know,

(30:49):
George Pickens. He wants to put the Cowboys back on
the map. So at this point he's not gonna have
a choice but to pay. Michael Parsons.

Speaker 1 (30:56):
Yeah, I think you have to do it. It's just
crazy that he keeps dragging it out.

Speaker 5 (30:59):
I feel like Jerry Jones must love the attention or something,
because it's costing him so much money.

Speaker 1 (31:04):
Jerry Jones loving a carriage, Jones the barnum of owners,
and he keeps screwing him.

Speaker 5 (31:11):
You know, we all talk about how next man up
breaks the old record and becomes the new highest paid
guy at their position. Dak Prescott had Dallas spent over
the barrel so badly that his number hasn't been topped
for two three years now because he's just he I
don't know, Jerry Jones keeps trying to get these wins,
but it's only taking himself a deeper hole.

Speaker 4 (31:31):
You can look at it this way.

Speaker 3 (31:32):
Someone could say, well, either he's insane or he's a genius,
because people keep talking about the Dallas Cowboys no matter what, right,
and for him that increases his brand, right it's American team.
I still don't know why people still look at him
that way. But at the same time, this works great
for Michael Parsons because he's going to get a.

Speaker 2 (31:53):
Very very large bag.

Speaker 1 (31:55):
Yeah, and you know, maybe for the Cowboys, you know,
the last twenty some odd years, maybe having a guy
in the front office work in the financials whose prior
experience was only in fast food might have been a mistake.
I'm just saying, Rocos, cut your dat.

Speaker 4 (32:07):
I come for this
