Speaker 1 (00:00):
Country tonight.

Speaker 2 (00:01):
Benjamin old Bright, Nick Ferguson, Grant Smith here with you,
five six six nine zeros in textaon be careful the
weather out there. Obviously we got the National Weather Service
been jumping in a little bit here and giving you
these these alerts. I guess the the last one, which,
by the way, we don't control the stuff, so that's
all government. You know, they take over and they push
the messages out to you. But I guess the last
one was saying act quickly to protect your life and

(00:21):
protect yourself from flying to breeze, So be careful out there.

Speaker 1 (00:24):
Some of those clouds are kind of a nasty looking
out the window.

Speaker 3 (00:27):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (00:27):
Here at the studio, five six six nine zeros of
text line.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
You guys want to get involved in conversation, going right
out to the kwait cous for the hotline of the home.

Speaker 1 (00:33):
We're gonna a gouy Sean Keeler from the Denver Post shot.

Speaker 3 (00:37):
How's it going, good, gentleman, Happy camp week.

Speaker 1 (00:43):
It's a happy camp week.

Speaker 2 (00:44):
Happy Rocky's got a shutout, Happy Rockies got back to
back series win.

Speaker 1 (00:49):
There's so much going on right now.

Speaker 3 (00:53):
Everything is good. What would we have to complain about.
That's why everything is good. Everything is awesome. There's a Lego.

Speaker 2 (00:58):
Movie right now we need to play. That's gonna be
our intro music. Now everything is awesome. We're gonna start there,
and that good, good suggestion there. Dione Sanders down there
visiting his son in Tampa at the at the Bucks
camp Shilow down there safety trying to make the squad.

Speaker 1 (01:11):
Uh. People have been worried a little bit about Dion's
health and.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
The health issues that he's had, and you know, and
all this this is a new era for Dion in
terms of coaching.

Speaker 1 (01:19):
He's no longer coaching his kids.

Speaker 2 (01:21):
Is as far as the CEEU situation goes, and as
far as we look at this, should that be something
that we should be optimistic about, pessimistic about or you know,
we'll we'll find out as as it unfolds, Well.

Speaker 3 (01:32):
It's a little bit of both. Well, I'm not even
sure he could be I think he could be optimistic
in that you wish you good health and you wish him, uh,
you know, good mobility moving forward, as far as it
affects his ability to work, You've got to be honest,
this is gonna be a narrative, and it's not a
narrative he's gonna like, and we know what he does

(01:54):
with narratives. He does like, and we know he reacts
to it. But it's out and he is such a
now monumental national figure in college football and to a
large degree football in general, that you know, it's a
sort that cuts both ways in a literal attention sense.

(02:15):
But I think it's it's not going away as long
as the Buffs aren't and his job isn't that I
think it is. If you are a cu fan, if
you've got folks in the family who are I think
it's something that you're gonna have to keep an eye
on because it's probably the thing besides who's going to
play quarterback that would worry me. Boast about worrying me,
Mosfira Buffant.

Speaker 4 (02:36):
Right now, with that being said, shown, I think you
might be the perfect person to ask this question, how
optimistic are you? How optimistic should Buffs fans actually be
about this upcoming season, knowing as though it hasn't really
been the term of who's going to be to start
a quarterback?

Speaker 3 (02:55):
Right? Yeah, I mean, just from a football perspective, they
might be the most fascinat not just the Big twelve,
but you know in the nation, not just because of
EOD and the prime effect of what have you. I think,
just strictly for football, the variance of outcomes. And I'm
sure you guys to talk about this is could be
a four win team, It could be a nine win team.

(03:19):
You know you could. The truth is properly in the middle.
Which is an extremely lame answer, but it is going
to come down to not just who plays at QB one,
but how they duel that out because I barring injury,
I think jug Lewis is going to be out there
for a lot more than people would think, because I
think that was always the plan and to let that

(03:42):
development happen in real time, I think that's not to
move a lot of coaches would make. But this is Eon.
We're in a different here at a different time, and
so I think that creates his variants of outcomes. I
can't in Salter as a grand r answer was a
much more six year beat and maybe a shaper floor.

(04:04):
I think the variants aboutcoms of Julia Lewis, He's going
to be the story to season that way, given what
we know in the offense and what if they like
to do and what they want to do. And I
think you need to prepare yourself for any eventuality that way,
whereas supposed to Kate Salter, and I think you can
have more of a shirt that what you're going to get.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
Once again, Coach Prime making generous use of the transfer
portal in an effort to relow restock.

Speaker 1 (04:31):
They see you, buffs, and it's going to be interesting
to me.

Speaker 2 (04:33):
And the eyes are on the quarterback position, and rightfully so,
I mean I get that, But for me, I look
at some of the other things here. I'm looking at
the wide receiver position. You know, you lost the third
down easy button in Travis Hunter. And oh, by the way,
quite a bit of depth behind that in terms of
guys who are very productive. We've seen flashes from Omari
and Miller before and obviously you got Sinceera Brown in
the transfer portal, who's going to be the guy for

(04:56):
this Colorado Buffalo's football team?

Speaker 3 (04:58):
How did you mention Miller? I think there's evidence that
we know you can hit the ground running and knows
what they like to do. They're gonna have some continuity
on that front. Uh, They you know, Drayon uh played
a lot. I think that's the guy does get talked
about enough for where he came came on late last year.

(05:20):
The new guys, Uh, we're gonna have to learn and
see they know that there's a standard. Uh. And I
think that's what gets overlooked a lot about that ascension
last year is just how good that receiving core was
one through five, one through six. When do you think
about one through four being gone? I'm many of those guys,
now that was a Will Shepherd's got a packers camp gig.

(05:42):
Now that you've got, you've got you got a lot
of pros uh on that side of the ball. I
am a Bolitnikov voter. I you know, I was a
big fan of the Johntay Western when he was doing
that at faust my way. Oh you got too Chimney.
That's gonna work out all right, And it did. So

(06:03):
You've got a standard that's gonna be tough to hit
right out of the gate. But I think you've got
some potential with Mariar Miller, with Trey Line and the
guys you talked about that even get there, I'm not
sure it can hit the ceiling of a year ago.
But I mean with some of the wild finishes in
that passing attack and the things that Travis Hunter does,
I don't think you're ever going to hit that ceiling.

Speaker 1 (06:25):
Sean.

Speaker 4 (06:25):
When we look at Rockies four and two in the
last six games, and the MLB trade deadline is coming
up on July thirty first, and there's been a lot
of talk swirling around the Rockies and what could possibly
happen with Ryan McMahon. Are you of the idea that

(06:46):
the Rockies. Obviously we know that they're not they're not
in the pendent chase, But with this big move for
the Rockies to move Ry McMahon to either the Yankees
or the Mariners.

Speaker 3 (06:58):
The Tigers need a third baseman two. I think it
in tubs, you pick your team. You don't want to
say Dodgers, but they could use them. You just don't
want to give it to them. I think it behooves
them to find an offer that both gives a good
servant to the franchise, a chance to win and a

(07:22):
chance to just replenish the farm. It wasn't Jeff Passing
on ESPN today when they did the trade deadline breakdown,
just said, you know needs for every team, and for
the Rockies, you just put everything or words to that
effect when when you got nothing, you got nothing left
to lose. But they've got to find a partner and

(07:45):
got to feel that they're not going to get you know,
Nolan for lack of a better verb, in a deal
like that, because there is a course effect that plays
against a team shipping out its hitters. I think discerning
front offices are gonna look at road splits. They're gonna say,
what is Ryan McMahon like at sea level? What is

(08:06):
Jake Bird like at sea level? They're different guys, better
on the pitching side for Bird, obviously getting out of
Denver not as good for Ryan McMahon. That that whole
Larry Walker argument has kind of never gone away to
the rest of the guys in the giving. So you
want to get value there, I'm not sure that they will.
That's the subject to my column that's now at Denver

(08:27):
Post dot com. Because I was at Rockies carts today
talking to to Rockies players, talk to Ryan, talked to
Mickey Moniac, who's another potential candidate. Actually a pretty good
fined off the street as a free agent. They've got
some options. They just don't have a lot of sexy ones.
And when you're fighting in that kind of sea level

(08:48):
bench guy, lower in the order type of bats, lower
in the rotation type of arms, you're not gonna get
the prospect hall you want. And how realistic is Bill
Schmidt the GM going to be about what he can't
get back and what he's willing to let go. And
you know, and they've shown in the past if they
don't get a return they like, they won't do it.
I'm hopeful they'll try to get her something back to

(09:10):
these guys that they do like, but I wouldn't be
shocked if it's a lot less active than we think
it's going to be.

Speaker 4 (09:17):
So, with all of that being said, will the Rockies
become like a farming league for other.

Speaker 1 (09:24):
Teams that are independent race?

Speaker 4 (09:27):
Is that what Rockies fans have to look forward to
in the next couple of years, being a farm team
for someone else.

Speaker 3 (09:34):
I think, as long as you're getting that contending team's
best prospects, I think a teardown in accumulation, a mass
accumulation of talent through the minor leagues is a smart
play and is I think and we but regardless of that,
if you want to go down that rabbit hole. I
think we're all in a bit of a stasis because

(09:57):
the collective bargain agreement is up a year after this December,
and I think everyone is kind of bracing for a
nuclear winter there. And I think that slowed down a
lot of long term and three year plans to where
they want to see what that labor unrest and owner
and owner unrest to be real. And Vic Montfort, to
his credit, has not been shy about where he stands

(10:19):
on this. He he is a hawk for what he
wants to see in the next CBA. I'm not sure
every owner agrees with him, much less the player side
until I think that in a backwards way has affected
every well, most of the baseball team's movement. Both he
saw was a very slow offseason, slow winner last year.
It could be a not super busy trade deadline this

(10:41):
week coming up as we had to July thirty first,
because I think everyone's looking at what if I have
no income or revenue coming in for a period in
twenty twenty six and twenty twenty seven because of a
lockout or what have you. I don't want to be
dooman gloom as a baseball fan, I hate saying that,
but I think that does play a role in some

(11:01):
of the long term, big picture decisions that are getting made,
not just at twentieth in Blake, but for most of
the league.

Speaker 2 (11:09):
Talk with Sean Keeler of the Denver Post sean last
one from me, I positive this question to Ryan Edwards
a little bit earlier on Kosh Sports, and that is,
the Rockies are suddenly winning a little bit coming out
of the All Star Break, relatively speaking, and is that
possibly detrimental to what they need to do overall?

Speaker 1 (11:29):
Meaning?

Speaker 2 (11:30):
Could that suddenly provide validation for the baseball people in
the momfort circle.

Speaker 1 (11:36):
Saying hey, look, it took a while.

Speaker 2 (11:38):
But this plan is suddenly working and coming together and
prevent them from making moves that they probably need to make.

Speaker 3 (11:45):
I yeah, I see where you're going with that. I
think they've doug such a ditch that most organizations would
have cut ties with a lot of that front office
by now and looked to Queen House. And I'm saying
that as a White Sox man full disclosure, and some
of their similarity liminarity similarities to the Rockies make me
a little.

Speaker 1 (12:05):
Uh in terms of how.

Speaker 3 (12:06):
The organizations do things, who they trust, and what their
long terms outlooks are. They can't certainly can't really move
much of the draft right They're they're locked in that
tense spot no matter what they do because of the
competitive balance system. Yeah, yeah, is Bill Schmidt justifying his
position if they're a little better in the second half

(12:28):
and they don't break the White Sox record, which I
don't think they will. I think they're gonna come really
agonizingly close, but I don't think they'll get there. That's
a really hard low bar to clear. And one of
the reasons the White Sox got there is they had
two one or two All stars remarkably and traded them
pretty quickly and really had nothing at that point. The
Rockies have more than that on paper, but they don't

(12:49):
have much more, and I don't know that they have
enough that's gonna justify whatever. I'm just not even sure
what that five year plan is other than getn Ethan
Holiday and Charlotte and Condon up here, which is obviously
the plan's there's not much depth after that, and I
think that's the concern that a lot of Rockies fans

(13:11):
and observers have had and I don't blame them, but
it's it's certainly better to I mean, how much better
is it to see a fifty one win team than
a forty one win team? I don't know, but that
still might be the ceiling, even if there's progress in
the second half.

Speaker 4 (13:25):
Sehn really quickly before we lets you get out here.

Speaker 1 (13:27):
Thanks for joining us, obviously to talking to town.

Speaker 4 (13:29):
Nick Benito's contract, with Michael Parson not signing in Dallas?
What are we looking at as far as whether the
Broncos want to get this done? Because the way that
Ben and I talk about it all the time, the
price is not going down. The price is only going up.
So what do you think that number could possibly be
for talent like Nick Benito?

Speaker 3 (13:50):
Oh, it's at least thirty million, I mean high twenties. Guys,
don't you think with where? And again that's not us
saying that's right, that's just us being arbitrators looking at
the market and going that's where this is right now? Now?
Is he if JJ you know, I if TJ wats
forty one million, right and Miles Garrett's forty I think

(14:12):
that's their aa V right now? Is he's seventy five
percent of the players they are. Maybe we're getting close
where you saw enough that you've got flashes. I was.
I still kind of am if it were me, not
that the Brougs will ever let me touch and touch
their tap, I would be tempted to say do it

(14:33):
again and and and tag a guy like that and
and say okay, and then then you you have you
have empty the Prince truck with the idea that you're
going to have to deal with a potentially a star
quarterback contract in three four years anyway two, which is complicated.
But I'm not sure they're going to do that. And
I bet people say you should tag Zach Allen instead.

(14:54):
It's it's an it. These are good problems to have,
right relative to the problems we have I've seen, and
they're not even problems. First world football problems are good problems,
but they aren't challenges. And I think an argument can
be made, especially given how well the Broncos handled the
Patchertan deal to get out ahead of the market there

(15:17):
and to set or at least not let the market
be said for them, that they might be might be
advantageous to get ahead of the Nick Benino market, even
if that means a slide overpay now to feel better
about the deal later.

Speaker 1 (15:28):
Sean Tayler from the Denver Post.

Speaker 2 (15:30):
Always appreciate talking to you, Bud.

Speaker 3 (15:32):
Thanks guys be saying take care.

Speaker 2 (15:34):
Absolutely take care. Broncos Country. Knight's got the NFL six pack.

Speaker 1 (15:37):
We come back.

Speaker 2 (15:43):
Broncos Country Today. Ben's been Albrandick, Ferguson, Grant Smith here
with you. Zack Seger's joining us in the studios act.
You've got a new article out there on the Kiawai website.

Speaker 5 (15:51):
I do looking at the biggest storylines here ahead of
training camp. I know fans coming in on Friday getting
to watch all the action.

Speaker 1 (15:58):
There with the Broncos.

Speaker 5 (15:59):
Then I'd give them a little a little prepper you knower,
yeah teaser, and here's here's some top storylines things you
can key in on and what you should be watching for.

Speaker 2 (16:08):
And they can go to the kacolor dot com and
get that article for free, right.

Speaker 1 (16:12):
Yeah, very they'll pay well with the Broncos tab. Yeah,
there you go. It's right there with that, Let's get
to the NFL's expected it. It's time for the NFL
six pad.

Speaker 3 (16:20):
I'm gonna trat insight and insight information you can't find
anywhere else.

Speaker 1 (16:27):
The top six NFL headline one.

Speaker 5 (16:31):
Commander's star wide receiver Terry McLaurin was absent from Commander's
training camp practices today. How do you think mclaurin's holdout
situation will be resolved? And do you think Sutton or
mclaurin's contract situation will be resolved?

Speaker 1 (16:46):
First?

Speaker 2 (16:46):
Mclaurin's contract will be resolved first. It'll be done by
the end of next week, and it'll be resolved with
even though it's not legal anymore, his fines being folded
into the contract as they will compensate him in a
way that he gets gets that money washed out.

Speaker 4 (16:58):
Boy, you have to love that idea of your fines
being roped into the salary that teams are going to pay,
because usually it doesn't happen that way.

Speaker 1 (17:07):
But I would agree with Ben.

Speaker 4 (17:09):
I mean, Adam Peters knows though McLaurin is an intricate
part of what they want to do. Even with Deebo
Sammy's they can't get to that next level without Scary Arry.
And yeah, that deal is going to definitely get done
before Courtland Sun, which Corton, by the way, would be
most happy that that has taking place because it helps

(17:29):
him as well.

Speaker 2 (17:30):
Yeah, especially with the age comparisons and all that kind
of stuff that it helps Courtland out. I don't know
if the Cortland's necessarily even getting a deal from the Broncos.
I know there's been some optimism out there. We'll see,
but I as far as the rest that goes, Harry
deal is going to be done very soon. They're actually
closer than the media's reporting that, and Sudden was.

Speaker 5 (17:47):
Seeing at practice, I believe my cliffs reported the other day.
So if a deal doesn't get done, do you think
there will be any issues there between.

Speaker 1 (17:53):
The Broncos and Sudden?

Speaker 2 (17:54):
Per sources, Courtland Sutton will not be holding in or
skipping any practices, per sources.

Speaker 1 (18:02):
More wide receiver talk.

Speaker 5 (18:03):
Cardinals wide receiver Marvin Harrison Junior said today that he's
ready to showcase how he plays now that he's added
ten pounds to his frame. He's up to two hundred
and twenty pounds from two hundred and nine as a rookie.
He's hyping up his new physique and how muscular he is,
and he's saying he can move faster and out of
his breaks better. I guess do you think this overhaul

(18:25):
of his physique is gonna pay off on the field
and lead to a breakout season or is this just
a standard training camp trop Well, that's.

Speaker 1 (18:32):
Gonna help it.

Speaker 2 (18:33):
I mean, he's not gonna he's gonna be difficult to
jam a guy that's six four two twenty. You know,
last year he had sixty two receptions, eight hundred and
eighty five yards, eight touchdowns, and he's gonna have more familiarity.

Speaker 1 (18:43):
With the offense.

Speaker 2 (18:44):
I think most people know for wide receivers, year two
is usually the breakout yere you two.

Speaker 1 (18:48):
You know, you usually kind of you're not drinking through
a fire hose anymore. You tend to kind of uh
up your game.

Speaker 2 (18:53):
You two tends to be a very a breakout year
for wide receivers. I expect big things at Arizona this year.
Is talking to Nick earlier, I think they can win
the NFC West. Harrison's a big.

Speaker 1 (19:01):
Part of that.

Speaker 2 (19:02):
You've got Trey McBride over there, obviously, you know, I
expect big things out of him.

Speaker 4 (19:07):
Unlike Ben, I don't see the Cardinals in that particular
way as far as being a big mover and shaker
in that NFC West Division. But I will say being
a lot bigger for a talented wide receiver who was
already a monster of a guy only makes things that's
more interesting because look at the size and you think

(19:30):
about the DK metcalf that we would see how you
would just slap guys by. But it's gonna be interesting
to watch how this extra weight actually helps him and
can he really move very fluently with the way.

Speaker 1 (19:44):
But sign me up for it.

Speaker 4 (19:45):
We get a chance to see it front and center
when they come to town.

Speaker 5 (19:48):
So yeah, I'm excited to see him there when the
Cardinals in the Broncos matchup. Do you think I mean
you highlighted the stats there. Do you think some of
the knocks on Marvin Harrison Junior he didn't even have
that bad of a rookie year. Do you think it's
just expectations are now elevated because we've had, you know,
the Justin Jefferson's the elite neighbors, that Brian Thomas juniors
kind of popping off fight.

Speaker 1 (20:08):
A lot of people.

Speaker 2 (20:09):
Didn't notice what he did because he did it in
Arizona last year, which wasn't a team was featured in
a lot of primetime games and all that, and you know,
he had a pretty good, pretty good rookie season. So
I think part of.

Speaker 3 (20:17):
That is that.

Speaker 2 (20:17):
I think part of that is just you know, playing
in obscurity, you know, I think, but I think they'll
get they'll get more as.

Speaker 1 (20:23):
The season goes on. Very interesting. Forty three, by the
way of.

Speaker 2 (20:29):
His sixty two catches went for first downs.

Speaker 3 (20:32):
Three.

Speaker 5 (20:35):
Second year quarterback Caleb Williams said that completing seventy percent
of his passes and being the first Bears quarterback to
throw for four thousand yards in a single season are
two of his big goals for the upcoming year. Which
of these goals do you think he'll achieve, if any?
And which of those bars do you think bo Nicks
will clear this season?

Speaker 2 (20:54):
If either, I think Nick could hit the completion percentage.

Speaker 1 (20:59):
One know, if he's going to get that much.

Speaker 2 (21:01):
I mean, with the commitment to the ground game that
they want to make, we'll see.

Speaker 1 (21:03):
Although we all know.

Speaker 2 (21:04):
Sean Payton says something about commitment to the ground game
and then throws to set up more throwing.

Speaker 1 (21:08):
So those are those are on the table.

Speaker 2 (21:10):
I mean, he was Caleb Williams was seeing a terrible
offense last year and still was only five hundred yards
short of hitting that mark. So you know that, to me,
that's something you he took sixty eight sacks last year.
If you get the protection that he needs and you know,
get they connect on a couple more deep shots, he's there.

Speaker 1 (21:27):
So I think getting four thousand yards for him getting.

Speaker 2 (21:29):
His seventy percent completion percentage, I mean he was at
sixty three percent last year. Two percent something like that,
he'll be that's a bit of a stretch, but maybe
they're going to build in some more, you know, easy
shots for him to be able to do that.

Speaker 4 (21:41):
I think that he gets it because you look at
with the poorest offensive line what he was still able
to do. Now you add the fact that Romadunze is
now entering his second year and you still got Cole
commit there and you got Lovelin there.

Speaker 1 (21:58):
So the potential was.

Speaker 4 (21:59):
There because the biggest factor is not just Caleb's ability,
but is Ben Johnson. And when you're looking at what
Ben Johnson was able to do to revitalize Jarrett Golf's
career with the Detroit Lions, you gotta figure that he's
going to do the same thing with Cavid winning with
the Bears.

Speaker 1 (22:17):
Yeah, I did. I for one reason. I always talking
Jay Color hit that four thousand with him and he didn't. No,
it's never Bears quarterback.

Speaker 3 (22:24):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (22:25):
Eric Kramer had the best season in ninety five. Nineteen
ninety five, Erk Kramer at thirty eight hundred passing yards
for the UH for the Chicago Bears.

Speaker 5 (22:35):
Kayl or Bo next last year, Pitt thirty seven hundred,
thirty seven seventy five. So that if he doesn't have
the ugly you know, first five to six games of
the season, but somebody that was bounced out by that
Brown's game or that the Chiefs game against our backups
where he threw what six touchdown whatever it was in
the last game of the year. The last one definitely
inflated the touchdown numbers. But still, I mean, I feel

(22:57):
like the Steelers game or whatever, didn't he have like
thirty forty yards.

Speaker 1 (22:59):
They were are a.

Speaker 5 (23:00):
Couple ones in there where people were, you know, posting
the stat line early on in the season and dunking
on him a little. I figure, if he's just a
little more level this season, he might be able to
clear that four thousand mark.

Speaker 2 (23:10):
Maybe we'll see. I'm not betting against him screen. He
was seventeen seventeen games.

Speaker 1 (23:14):
To do it.

Speaker 4 (23:15):
Somate that screen game or.

Speaker 1 (23:19):
More quarterback talk Tua Tiger.

Speaker 5 (23:21):
V Lois said that Tyreek Hill is still working to
regain his teammates trust after his public trade comments. So
he's made a few of them. He had tweets and
then of course after the loss in week seven or
week eighteen rather last year, he said, I want out
of here pretty much. Do you think he'll will finish
this season as a member of the Dolphins, And what

(23:43):
do the Dolphins have to accomplish in twenty twenty five
in your opinion for the season to be a success.

Speaker 2 (23:48):
Well, if they don't win a playoff game, they're they're gone.
So they're gonna blow that thing out. So that's that's
the barometer there. Last year till ahead his best, our
most efficient season, I should say.

Speaker 3 (23:58):
So.

Speaker 2 (23:58):
He was throwing the ball and hitting, leading a lot
of passes. Wasn't his best necessarily touchdowns or justice guards
attempt those kinds of things, but he was used a
lot more efficient, took fewer sacks.

Speaker 1 (24:08):
You know, last year I'd be interesting to see.

Speaker 2 (24:10):
I mean, it really belongs to the health of Tua
whether or not they're going to be whether they win games.
You know, Mike McDaniel's been has had success with Tua
when he started. I think there's something like was it
twenty five and sixteen? When Tua starts and there's something
like it, and they are abstoually horrible when he doesn't.
So that's going to be the key, I don't think.
I mean, haven't Tyreek Kill? Yeah it's nice, but they
need Waddle to step up too.

Speaker 4 (24:32):
I think he Tybrek Kill will definitely be around and
this could be one of those years statistically that make
a lot of Dolphins fans like my dad, forget about
what the offseason was for Tyreek Hill. Hey, trust me,
I can understand it as a form of player. You're upset,
you're emotional, You're not getting the success that you thought
you were going to receive like you got in your

(24:52):
previous stop. So that's the life of the competitor. Now
does he have to win back the mindset? And I
guess how the guys view him.

Speaker 1 (25:02):
Absolutely.

Speaker 4 (25:03):
The way you do that is you produce and when
you're winning, no one cares about what happened in yesteryear.

Speaker 5 (25:10):
I feel like adding to that, upset, though, is the
fact that this roster is deteriorating around him. I think
he knows he only has so many high level seasons
left and he wants to try and add another ring
to his resume. John hu Smith led that team in
both receptions and touchdowns last year, despite the fact that
only started six games.

Speaker 1 (25:29):
And he's gone. That's crazy and he's gone now. Jaylen
Waddle played in fifteen games, had two touchdowns and they
gave him away.

Speaker 4 (25:36):
Yeah, don't forget if two of somehow gets injured. As
crazy as it sound, Zach Wilson now becomes to start.

Speaker 5 (25:44):
A quarterback and that's an upgrade in their opinion on
past situations they had.

Speaker 1 (25:47):
It's wild, say five and no offensive line to block
for him. What could possibly go wrong?

Speaker 5 (25:55):
And Storm Duck is starting at cornerback and they lost
another cornerback today.

Speaker 1 (25:59):
Storm I needed Duck, a guy named Storm Duck. I
still get what. Sorry, this might be bad news for Grant.

Speaker 5 (26:09):
Joe Burrow expressed today that he's disappointed with the Cincinnati
Bengals continue to contract negotiations struggles. When do you think
the Hendrickson and Stuart's situations will be resolved? And do
you think Joe Burrow whiwever becomes so frustrated with since
these financial dealings that he forces his way out of Ohio.

Speaker 1 (26:27):
That could be a thing.

Speaker 2 (26:28):
I mean, look, they got Noah coming in for a
visit tomorrow looking at signing him, and they're not even
you know, Trey Hendrickson left Cincinnati with the Jacksonville to
go on vacation with his wife because he's he got
two offers in a span of twenty four hours. They
didn't have any guaranteed money beyond your one. I would
laugh at the Bengals too, Shamar Stewart. All they need
to do is change three four words in that contract
and he signs, and they won't do it. The Cincinnati

(26:51):
ownership is just hardheaded. They're just thick headed, and they're
going to be the most entertaining team to score forty
five points a game and win six games all year.

Speaker 1 (27:00):
I hate to.

Speaker 4 (27:00):
Say this and just kind of be the dead horse
for Grant. It's a tough situation as a guy that
played for the Cincinnati Bengals. Nothing has changed since I
was there, and they're still just kind of the chief team.

Speaker 1 (27:13):
It's cheap as.

Speaker 4 (27:13):
Hell and they're showing it right now, and I can
see Joe Burrow forcing his way out, pulling a James
Harden and just saying, look, I'm.

Speaker 1 (27:24):
Done, I'm out.

Speaker 4 (27:25):
Yeah, you sound my two wide receivers, but you're not
doing enough to get me to where I need to.
And that's crazy because the number of points that the
Bengals scored last year and the stats stat Burrow put
up and they did not make it to the playoffs,
that's utterly ridiculous.

Speaker 5 (27:42):
We've already seen Carson Palmer kind of get tired of
this organization force his way out before. I mean, at
least the organization isn't forcing players to share jockstraps anymore,
but they're still crazy cheap.

Speaker 1 (27:54):
Do you think Do you think.

Speaker 5 (27:59):
Manyway I didn't report it.

Speaker 4 (28:07):
That old?

Speaker 5 (28:07):
That'll build cabaraderie and a few different ways build something else.

Speaker 1 (28:12):
No way to get closer to your teammates it, I
mean build admitted into chlamydia herd immunity. Yeah, you never
know about those Green Cincinnati right. Six biggest Camp.

Speaker 5 (28:29):
Eagles tackle Jordan Mylott of bristled at the defending Champs
Moniker today when a reporter brought it up during their
press conference, He said that they're not thinking about last
year's title. Quote, we just won the title and now
we've got to go win it again. What do you
make of my lot as mindset? And how confident do
you feel in the Eagles chances of repeating little tidbit

(28:49):
herestat tidbit, It would be just the second time in
NFL history we had two back to back champions in
a row. The last time was the Dolphins Super Bowl
seven eight, followed by the Steelers Super Bowls nine and ten.

Speaker 1 (29:00):
Yeah, I don't. I mean, that's what you say. We put,
you know, last year in the rear.

Speaker 2 (29:06):
We're not resting on our laurels, even though we just
got these audacity you know, you know, preposterous super Bowl rings,
the BACU gun rings that were that were wearing around.

Speaker 1 (29:14):
We're totally not thinking about it, even though we have
this gigantic reminder on my ring figure. I.

Speaker 2 (29:20):
I think it's difficult, it's difficult to repeat in any
circumstance that the Beagles did lose a few pieces. I
think they'll be a good football team. But you've got
teams that are emerging in that division. Washington's gotten better,
Dallas has gotten better. You know, the division is going
to be tougher, the NFC a little bit tougher. Maybe
we'll see. I staid, I say the AFC is.

Speaker 1 (29:40):
Way tougher than the NFC, but so that gives them
a leg up. But I don't.

Speaker 2 (29:44):
I don't think there. I would not say I would
not bet them to repeat. And I bet Kansas City
and Philly to go to the Super Bowl. Lessure, I
would not bet Philly to repeat.

Speaker 4 (29:52):
You would?

Speaker 2 (29:53):
Would you bet on them to repeat as conference champions? No,
I'm not even sure I bet on him to win
the division. But I think they're I think they're the
team to beat in that division, but I'm not sure
i'd lay money on it.

Speaker 1 (30:05):
See.

Speaker 4 (30:05):
The only reason one says that because it makes it
really difficult for a team to repeat in that particular fashion.
Because now that drive that they had to get there,
you're thinking that is already satisfied. For some teams, like
like the Patriots, it just made them more hungrier. But
I still think that the team is still the team
to beat because the fangio hasn't gone anywhere, Their front

(30:26):
seven hasn't gone anywhere. I mean, they changed a couple
of things here, and there on the back end. So
how can you say that they're not going to be
one of those teams because we all know this defense
still within the championship.

Speaker 2 (30:39):
Can you count on the health of say Kuon Barkley
for an entire season like that? And the new backup
now is aj Dillon, who I don't know if you
can count on.

Speaker 1 (30:46):
That health at all. As part of the reason he's
out in Green Bay. They kept most of it together,
but the front step have lost a few. You lost
you know, Sweat and some of those guys.

Speaker 2 (30:56):
They lost the secondary he lost some secondary pieces, and
they didn't do much in terms of bringing guys, you
know guys in. They brought in Jelaari from the New
York Giants, and they brought the guy from Cleveland to Coronco.
But they really do much. I don't know, man, I
just I think it's tough. I think it's very tough
to repeat. And then didn't they Obviously they're replacing their
oc Kellen Moore's head coach in New Orleans. Now you

(31:18):
got to Kevin Patulo as EC and continuity's a big thing.

Speaker 1 (31:22):
We'll see if he's able to connect time. We'll see
what if he was able to connect with Jalen Hurts.

Speaker 5 (31:26):
The way that Kelli Moore was the odds in the
conference right now to make it to the Super Bowl.
You got the Eagles still is the favorites, but at
plus three seventy, Lions at plus five fifty Rams, plus
eight hundred, Commanders and forty nine Ers at plus nine
to fifty, and then the Packers at plus one thousand.

Speaker 1 (31:42):
Do you have a favorite value there out of those six?

Speaker 2 (31:44):
I mean again, I would, because of the number is
going to be better, just bet Dallas and Arizona, even
though wouldn't necessarily the favorites. I would take the number
there and put sprinkle a little bit on each of them,
just because I think they're improved teams.

Speaker 1 (31:55):
And we'll see.

Speaker 5 (31:56):
Ben's NFC Championship preview Cardinals versus Cowboys.

Speaker 1 (32:00):
Ah, I'm not going that far.

Speaker 2 (32:02):
And you'll notice I need to say Commanders so you
can't can't accuse me of the damn Quinn thing.

Speaker 1 (32:07):
I think they take a little bit of a step back.

Speaker 4 (32:09):
To sure you were rooting for the car News all
show long, Cardinals Country event right here on whatever.

Speaker 1 (32:17):
They'll be here in a couple of weeks. We'll be
back after this. Yes I'm a terrible human being. Yes
you are
