thrilled to be joined by radio legend and very good
friend of ours. Also listened to him every week coming
up next Saturday. Starting next Saturday on the Broncos Radio

(00:50):
Network as your color analyst, Rick Lewis, what's up, rick man,
It's good.

Speaker 3 (00:53):
To be here. What a beautiful day. Man. This kind
of reminds me a little bit of like a Orange
County morning tepper would know, a little bit of cloud cover,
a little bit of humidity, but not too hot at
least yet. It's gonna warm up into the eighties later,
but it should be a really good day for practice.
And I'm expecting these guys to go at it here today.
The offense did not have a good day yesterday. The

(01:16):
defense kicked their ass yesterday. And you know Sean Payton
as a head coach who's also the play caller, I
think he's gonna set this practice up here today for
the offense to do better.

Speaker 4 (01:28):
Completely agree, Yeah, and I want to get to some
more of the expectations that you have for practice. By
the way, I was out in San Diego about a
month and a half ago, and I completely agree.

Speaker 2 (01:36):
It was amazing.

Speaker 4 (01:37):
You wake up in the morning, cloud cover gorgeous, and
you know it was all gonna burn off, but it
was just in that few hours in the morning, just
to soaking that up was gorgeous.

Speaker 3 (01:45):
Yes, And that's how it feels here this morning. Sun's
kind of burning through the clouds right now. The players
are on the field. We waited for Zach Allen, me
and a Rod waiting for him to come out so
A Rod could get a picture in some video. And
he was one of the last guys out, probably waiting
for that ink to dry, make sure the money was
in the bank, and then he walked on on the field.

Speaker 5 (02:05):
It takes a long time to count that much money.
That's a lot of money, man, So Broncos definitely paying cash.

Speaker 3 (02:09):
Can you imagine None of us can even imagine what
it'd be like to sign a check for one hundred
million dollars.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
For playing the game and then be fine about it.

Speaker 3 (02:18):
That you love, right, I mean, we couldn't even imagine
doing that. I can't even wrap my head.

Speaker 5 (02:23):
Around imagine being Rob Walton. I gotta sign another one
of these. It's well, he can afford it. Yeah, us
as a shack in the old thing. It's like riches
like me. You know, wealthy is the guy who's signing
my check.

Speaker 3 (02:36):
Absolutely, you know what this ownership group with Sean Payton
and George Peyton, these guys are a fine oiled machine.
These guys are perring like a BMW motor right now.
And I think Nick Benito probably gets his bag next
after Parsons and Hendrickson get a deal, because that's just
going to raise his number up. But man, yeah, we're

(02:58):
off to a good start.

Speaker 4 (02:59):
Yeah. So how were you when you saw that news
this morning and we were talking about it at the
start of the show. What does Zach Allen, in your opinion,
mean to this team?

Speaker 3 (03:07):
Well, last year he had more quarterback pressures than any
defensive lineman in the league. I believe that the number
was forty. You're the analytics guy.

Speaker 4 (03:15):
Yeah, he had forty points and that was more. And
then he had more QB wins. I mean he might
have had more pressures too, but yes, from from the
interior defensive line position.

Speaker 3 (03:23):
Yes, yeah, I think he deserved the money. This is
a second contract here with the Denver Broncos and Dvance
Joseph brought him in. He was a advanced Joseph guy
with Arizona and his first year I think we were
I wouldn't say disappointed, but maybe expecting a little bit
more from him. Underwhelmed. But did he start coming on. Yeah,

(03:46):
and last year I thought last year he was one
of the best players in the league.

Speaker 5 (03:50):
Absolutely was, And that's I think a lot of people
try to you know, dray Mount was kind of a
fan favorite.

Speaker 2 (03:54):
He's a fun guy, funny guy, and.

Speaker 5 (03:56):
So I think, you know, he had choes to jump
into there as far as that goes and ingratiating himself.
Maybe he expected a little bit more that kind of
thing that. Yeah, he showed out last year. You don't know,
the guy did that. We don't talk about a lot
Brandon Jones. We didn't talk about Justin's missing Justin Simmons
one time last year, that guy came into some incredibly
impressively large shoes and absolutely filled him.

Speaker 3 (04:15):
Yeah, he had a really good year. Probably have another
good year this year if he stays healthy and with
him and Funga oh man, man, this back end of
this defense. That's what's really getting me more excited than anything,
is how good this defense could be this year. This
looks like an elite defense that's still ascending. They were

(04:36):
good last year. This year they should be even better
with the guys they added. Also a feeling better about
the inside linebacker position now seeing green Law up there
in the field. He didn't practice, but he was out
there warming up.

Speaker 2 (04:49):
And he jogged out today.

Speaker 3 (04:51):
And then Singleton walked out today with pads on.

Speaker 2 (04:54):
How about that?

Speaker 3 (04:55):
Yeah, yeah, okay, Well, had he had a little thing
on his thought.

Speaker 5 (04:59):
In the cast, thing on the thumb there or whatever, but.

Speaker 3 (05:01):
I wouldn't expect him to do much. In fact, I
don't know why they put it.

Speaker 4 (05:05):
Well, he might do some individual stuff and maybe, I mean,
we'll we'll end up seeing they said he'd only missed
about a week, which again is remarkable. You break your
bone in your body and it's like maybe a week
back out there.

Speaker 2 (05:15):
Yeah, so throwing it around.

Speaker 4 (05:17):
Yeah, so he's been it's been a little under a week,
but he's been out here since he got the surgery
on his thumb. And I don't know the fact that
he's in pads makes you think that he's gonna do
some kind of practicing today.

Speaker 3 (05:28):
Yeah, he'll do something. Certainly, they'll keep him out of contact.

Speaker 4 (05:31):
Yeah, but you got you gotta do that.

Speaker 3 (05:33):
But you know, I was a little nervous, as you
guys know. But those two guys going down, they're thin
already at that position. And now I'm feeling much better
about that. That was my thing.

Speaker 5 (05:42):
A couple of weeks ago. We were like, on paper,
this looks like a really good team. The only thing
I'm nervous about is the injury history at inside back
or you know, green Law was coming back off injury,
Singleton sna you know, and Drew had Drew Sanderson was
not injured at the time, had not yet you.

Speaker 2 (05:56):
Know, evolved into being.

Speaker 5 (05:58):
That inside back or that was my my my question mark,
and I didn't realize it was going to get that.
You know, that's scary, I guess for a minute, but
it looks like these guys are on the right trajectory.

Speaker 4 (06:07):
So well again with Lavelle Bailey playing the way he
is and you know what Sternod is. So there's a
little bit of a floor there. I'm not saying there's
much of a ceiling, but there's a little bit of
floor there.

Speaker 2 (06:17):
From expectations, we.

Speaker 3 (06:18):
Should have more faith.

Speaker 5 (06:18):
I mean, last year Singleton went down and we didn't
we didn't mention his name either.

Speaker 3 (06:22):
Cody Bark came on and played like a stud.

Speaker 2 (06:24):
That's right nowhere, that's right.

Speaker 3 (06:25):
And I thought Sterna played well early. Yeah, last year
he kind of faded off a little bit down the stretch,
but I was a little surprised how we really didn't
miss him.

Speaker 4 (06:36):
Yeah, you lose your starting inside linebacker. You know, you're
got the guy that soaks up all the tackles in
Alex Singleton, and that was obviously very early the season.
The fourth game of the season, you lost him, and
then like, okay, well, what's that going to look like?

Speaker 2 (06:48):
How big of a hole in your defense?

Speaker 4 (06:49):
And they they really kind of just got better from
there now the tail end of the season. Riley Moss's
injury I think was kind of a bigger deal than
ultimately they wanted it to be. But you know, that's
why you continue to to that room. You know, we
were talking about Johnny Barron just a little bit ago,
and I guess there's reports out there that he's having
a bad camp.

Speaker 2 (07:05):
I haven't seen that. You've been out here Rick as well.

Speaker 4 (07:07):
I mean, I don't think Johnny barn's having I think
he's having a really good camp. He's just not making
a splash plays, you know, and say, hey, he didn't
have a pick six or a PBu and it doesn't
necessarily mean that he's having a bad practice.

Speaker 3 (07:19):
He keep in mind he's out here with with ps
two and three year veteran Riley Moss. These guys, these
guys are really comfortable out there. He's still trying to
figure things out. He's a rookie, first round rookie with
high expectations. I think he's going to make an impact
on this football team in the back end, for sure.
He's pushing Riley Moss. That's another good thing about the competition.

(07:40):
Riley Moss is having a really good camp. He is
and Riley Moss looked really good last year until he
got hurt. So Baron's pushing him. Competition's great. Same thing
with McMillan, he's pushing him as well. We both I
think we all three of us probably assume that Baron
will be the nickel back this year, the inside quarterback

(08:01):
this year.

Speaker 5 (08:01):
I don't want to derail this conversation, but I just
got a text from somebody who was very informed on this.
And you remember how I was joking about that. I
was joking but joking about the Raiders with Michael Parsons. Yeah,
the Raiders have offered the Cowboys two ones, A three
and two fours for Michael Parsons.

Speaker 3 (08:17):
Wow, for it's official.

Speaker 5 (08:20):
Uh, it's not out there, but that it's out there
now obviously, But it's not out there, but it's They
have a two ones called offered and Dallas hasn't said no,
but they obviously haven't said yes yet.

Speaker 4 (08:31):
Well, I guess if you're Jerry you kind of have
that in your hip pocket if if you feel like
you're just not gonna be able to get the thing
over the finish line with the negotiation.

Speaker 5 (08:37):
One's a three and two fours for Michael Parsons. He's
worked and I still feels like that's light.

Speaker 2 (08:42):
That still feels light to me.

Speaker 3 (08:43):
Yeah, is the real deal?

Speaker 4 (08:45):
Yeah, I I that's so. And especially because the Raiders
they tend to miss on so many draft picks. Actually
that's bad news because uh not only they're they getting
a player that's established and you can get to start
him opposite Max Crosby, which is gonna be a problem
in this division.

Speaker 5 (08:59):
But then I don't think Dallas wants to trade cross Parsons.
I think they want to, you know, and I think
Jerry caves last minute and pays extra for it. But man,
that is that's something you got to kind of raise
your eyebrow at if you're Dallas.

Speaker 4 (09:09):
Two ones, A three and four, two fours, two fours, Okay.

Speaker 3 (09:13):
Yeah, the Cowboys fans would revolt if they let him go.
He's he's a generational player, yeah, at that position, and man,
we don't want the Raiders to get him. That would
be real bad for the Broncos. The AFC West is
tough enough as it is. Man. I can't imagine him
and Crosby together on the field.

Speaker 4 (09:32):
I mean, I don't know how many wins that adds
for them, but certainly it makes them a better team, right,
I mean, I think we all agree with that. I
just I guess I need to see like they're they're
an operation because of adding Pete and adding Gino that
I feel their floor is probably a little better this year,
But I don't know how much that translates into wins,
you know what I'm saying. Like, I fe feel like

(09:54):
this year might be a little bit of a transition
as you're working away from some of the players, I mean,
moving on from Christian Wilkins.

Speaker 2 (09:59):
That's a big loss.

Speaker 4 (10:00):
Like I understand any people like say, well, I mean
it's the Raiders, and you know these are the kind
of moves they make. He's one of the premiere defensive tackles,
is being paid like one of the premier defensive tackles
when he's right. I only played a handful of games
last year, But if you thought you'd get more out
of him this year after surgery, I mean they still
had him under contract for a few more years. I
mean that that that loss should be talked about as

(10:23):
far as the on field product, shouldn't it.

Speaker 5 (10:25):
Well, yeah, yeah, sorry, I just blown away by that.
I was I was trying to follow up on that
real quick to see if there's anything else out there,
but uh, yeah, I mean you should.

Speaker 4 (10:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (10:33):
Anyways, what's the over under for Raiders this year?

Speaker 2 (10:38):
I'll be leiave it's six and a half.

Speaker 3 (10:40):
That's about what I would have thought.

Speaker 5 (10:41):
I have to go back and check and see if
that's moved, but it was. It was when it rolled out,
it was six and a half.

Speaker 2 (10:47):
I'm not sure what the current number is.

Speaker 4 (10:48):
Off the top of my head, this one is saying
seven and a half, six and a half or seven?

Speaker 5 (10:52):
Yeah, okay, I's say, depending on what book you're at
and what number you're looking at. With the juice and
all that, you know, six and a half was the was.

Speaker 2 (10:58):
The originals to you?

Speaker 4 (10:59):
Like, just drop right into the handicapping, the Jews, the points.
So anyways, back to the Broncos here for a second.
Here what you mentioned in the offense having kind of
a rough day yesterday, But you've been to enough of
these things.

Speaker 2 (11:17):
Does that worry you at all when the offense has
a day.

Speaker 3 (11:19):
Like that, No, it really doesn't. That's first two interceptions
that bone Nicks has thrown in training camp and a
couple of days ago we were talking about maybe they're
playing it too safe with bow. You know, they don't
want him to take any chances, any risk. This is
where you take those chances in risks. No, that doesn't
worry me at all. I think we can all agree

(11:41):
this offense is going to be better. Uh Bo Nicks
is going to be better, and the guys they brought
in on the offensive side of the ball are going
to make them better. I'm not worried at all about that.
And this defense is going to be so good. They're
going to keep the Broncos in every game this year,
and all the offense has to do is be increment
better and you're gonna add two more wins to the total.

(12:03):
In my opinion, I think, uh yeah.

Speaker 5 (12:06):
I was talking with somebody about this Yester those Kids podcast.
They were asked what the ceiling and the floor for
the Broncos are, and I think, like, you know, if
if everything goes disaster, I still think this is an
eight win football team. Everything goes right, you can get
out to twelve wins. I mean, I do believe that
this team could get out Their ball bounce is right.
You know, a couple of those games you catch one
or two of those those those tough games nappen and
you wind up. I still think it's a you know,

(12:26):
it's probably ten and seven is probably the safe call,
but twelve wins is certainly doable. Did you say you
were on a kids podcast as some kids. Yeah, they
they have this podcast. They do those teenagers put together
a podcast or whatever. They asked me to come on,
so I did it.

Speaker 2 (12:39):
Okay, did you get ask that question?

Speaker 3 (12:41):
I give them some gambling advice. What hundred gm B
l E R.

Speaker 4 (12:47):
You're not old enough for this? Give it five or
six years. I hope they were not young.

Speaker 5 (12:51):
But like, no, it's just as a high school kid
who started this podcast, what can help? I love going
on people's you know, podcasts like that are just starting
out because the ask good questions versus the you know,
the generic you know, national ones.

Speaker 4 (13:02):
A wow.

Speaker 3 (13:04):
I did a show this week from a station at Saskatchewan, Canada.
Yea nice. I don't have the rough Riders over there.
I can't even put that point that out on the map. Saskatchewan. Yeah,
I think it's somewhere in the middle of the yeah,
middle of Canada. But yeah, they were here in NFL
fans they knew what they were talking about. They knew
about the Broncos. Although they did say, well that London

(13:24):
game is going to be good against the Cowboys. Oh.
I was like, uh, they gets against the Jets. Maybe
I better check. Yeah yeah, but yeah, you got to
do that sometimes. They got a good football culture.

Speaker 5 (13:35):
So the Saskatchewan rough Riders up there.

Speaker 3 (13:37):
Yeah, I even said rough Riders. Yeah, so they loved me. Nice.

Speaker 4 (13:42):
A couple of texts coming here on the Koa Coma
Spirit Health text line five six six nine zeros, we
have a Rick Lewis here with us. Ryan, you need
to get Alexis back to take Ben out again.

Speaker 2 (13:51):
Yeah it's good. Okay.

Speaker 5 (13:53):
So my mom every every time a camp training camp starts,
always sends to be like this text message, like letter thing,
you know, probably this year, you know, like kind She's like,
don't get pushed down the hill again.

Speaker 4 (14:04):
She said that bom.

Speaker 2 (14:05):
Yeah, well she's seen the memes. She has a Twitter account.

Speaker 5 (14:11):
I'm never giving that that Twitter account handle out ever.

Speaker 4 (14:15):
Uh. Speaking of Javante Ben, any quick training camp updates
on recently parted Broncos players Chavante Reynolds.

Speaker 2 (14:21):
Reynolds is hurt. He walked out.

Speaker 5 (14:23):
He limped off the practice field to day.

Speaker 2 (14:24):
I don't know how serious that is. I had a
chance look that up. Javante's looked all right, Uh, it's
gonna be him.

Speaker 5 (14:29):
And uh who's the other one they grafted?

Speaker 2 (14:31):
Uh?

Speaker 5 (14:32):
And uh was it Miles Sanders?

Speaker 2 (14:33):
They grabbed that.

Speaker 5 (14:35):
Uh, they're gonna be splitting time as the one and
two blue is is kind of falling off.

Speaker 2 (14:38):
He's kind of the third back there.

Speaker 4 (14:40):
Uh.

Speaker 5 (14:40):
Down there, they've had They've had a litany of offensive
line injuries.

Speaker 1 (14:44):
Though.

Speaker 5 (14:44):
That's somewhat Worriosome. I was bullish on Dallas, but now
that they've got the no offensive line, they're dragging Lae
Collins out of retirement. You know, I'm a little bit
worried about that team now.

Speaker 3 (14:53):
I always wondering too about Davonte. I was gonna ask
you about that. You don't hear anything about him. Well though,
he's the kind of play that he doesn't like really pop,
you know, you don't go, oh wow, who's that dude?

Speaker 5 (15:04):
Right, Yeah, he's not trying to murder this defensive teammates.
You know, with those Marion Barber style runs down there.
They have big, big expectations for a bit of me
a platoon with him and Miles Sanders.

Speaker 4 (15:15):
This is a non NFL breaking story, But the La
Lakers just gave Doncis a three year, one hundred and
sixty five million dollar extension.

Speaker 2 (15:25):
So non NFL news.

Speaker 4 (15:27):
But the Lakers lock up Luca, So all our dreams
about Luca coming here is probably that's probably gone.

Speaker 3 (15:33):
But yeah, they're gonna They're gonna build their future run him.

Speaker 2 (15:36):
Why wouldn't you deservedly understand?

Speaker 5 (15:38):
I buy a lot of beer.

Speaker 4 (15:43):
Outside Zone is gonna be such a great fit for
this offensive line. Outside of Powers, this O line all
works well in motion and landing on targets at the
second level. Mclinchy and Wattenberg are going to be huge
beneficiaries of the change.

Speaker 2 (15:55):
Anything about that sort of what I was.

Speaker 5 (15:56):
Hinting at earlier we talked about the offensive line a
little bit. Ben Powers is not a fit for that,
you know, schematically, Uh So that's going to be interesting
beyond this year if they keep the wide zone thing going.
But otherwise, yes, I do believe that is exactly correct.
I mean, Garrett Bules was drafted to be That's why
he was drafted ahead of Ryan Ramschak to begin with,
is because of his anleticism. Uh you know where Ramcheck
was was more of a polished tackle. Garrett Bowles was

(16:19):
such a great athlete that they felt like he'd be
better in that zone blocking and zone blocking you know,
it wants you to slim down and be a better athlete.

Speaker 3 (16:24):
So, you know what, I think it's good or better too.
For these running backs Dobbins and Harvey, they're one cut
and go bags. I could see why they want to
go and do more outside zone running.

Speaker 5 (16:36):
Yeah, you just gotta have the vision to be able
to see the cutback on wye zone there. Unlike Javonte,
who reminded me of that driver from Snatch, you know
the movie, and they're like, why.

Speaker 3 (16:45):
Did you park house too tight?

Speaker 5 (16:46):
You could have driven a jumpbo jet through the coreference
into the It's a great movie. The guy who played
that driver, he was just some some guy on set
that was security. The guy who was supposed to be
the actor for the driver that didn't show, so they
put him in there.

Speaker 3 (17:01):
No, I didn't know that.

Speaker 4 (17:01):
I did not know that. I love you guys together,
even though I haven't seen most of the movies you reference.
That's that actually came it before you. Before I did that,
talked to her about slash uh. He said, please discuss
tight ends. How's it going. We talked about Evan Ingram.
He's he's gonna be a focal point of this offense.
Adam Troutman will have his consistent role, right, He's gonna
be out there, especially in twelve personnel, but he's gonna

(17:22):
be your mostly blocking tight end. He'll have a few
catches here. What do we got?

Speaker 5 (17:27):
Dan Adkins will be the AAC and the low zone
guy after that.

Speaker 2 (17:30):
I mean, Lowner is your project.

Speaker 5 (17:31):
And you know Hall of Famer Lucas Kroll and falling
off a little bit in Hall of Famer Rod Grenkowski.
I haven't seen him out here, so.

Speaker 3 (17:39):
Wasn't Lucas Croll. The guy was having the best camp
with anybody last year.

Speaker 2 (17:44):
That's the big and that's the bit.

Speaker 4 (17:46):
I know. This one fellas with ninety nine getting his
new deal in Casa Bonito. Nice little tip there to Ben.
Most likely done sometime this season. Who's up next for
new contracts next year? So that's a interesting thing to
look ahead. You know, Marvin Mims is going to be
an interesting discussion. I think this offseason. And I mean again,

(18:07):
let's just say projective forward. Let's say a little bit
of a growth on offense, continues to be the full
time returner, maybe another Pro Bowl, All Pro kind of season.
What kind of market would that create for Marvin Mims
as far as an extension, ben.

Speaker 2 (18:22):
This is a pivotal year for him.

Speaker 5 (18:23):
He won't get top you know, top ten receiver money,
but right around that fifteen to twenty number, right around
where the Courtland Sutton number is, Like, that's that's what
he would be approaching if he continues to grow as
as he has now, if he stays kind of what
he is, you're looking at a lot lower number. But
smaller guys like that who play slot z and our returners,
they tend not to get those kind of those those

(18:44):
big numbers that the bigger guys get.

Speaker 4 (18:46):
But the thing is, Rick, it's about the value to
the team, right because it's not just what he does
on offense, it's what he does to special teams. And
you're an All Pro and Pro Bowl returner, well, that
has a certain value in itself. And then you think
about some of the explosive plays that he are he
adds to the offense that dimension. Yeah, I think that
he's going to come in at a pretty pretty nice number.
But to Ben's points that we're not talking like Jamar

(19:08):
Chase kind of numbers or maybe even Cortland Sutt numbers.

Speaker 2 (19:11):
But it's definitely a value.

Speaker 3 (19:12):
You certainly have to factor that in the best return
man in the league. And he just seems a lot
more confident in this training camp as he emerged last
year at the end of the year. I came into
training camp thinking that Marvin Mims would be wide receiver too.
I still think that's probably gonna happen. Although Troy Franklin
camp having a really good camp. I think he's pushing

(19:33):
them there. Veyle, I haven't heard much from him at camp.
He's banged up a little bit going into camp and
then once we get into training camp, and that was
an issue with him last year as well, correct riv Jel.
The injuries kind of held him back last year. We
had high hopes for Devon Vley, but they really need
that speed wide receiver in Mims or Franklin to go

(19:54):
with Courtland Sutton.

Speaker 5 (19:55):
That's and that's always been the hallmark of the Sean
Payton offense. You know, you get that that X receiver
over there. Catch is a bunch of slants, the Courtland Sutton,
the Michael Thomas, the Marcus Colston's, and then on the
backside you get that burner at the Z. You know
whether that's back in the day it was Ted Gann
or Devreie Henderson or Brandon Cooks.

Speaker 2 (20:09):
Now it's to be Marvin Mintroy Franklin somebody like that.

Speaker 4 (20:12):
Hey, guys, Ryan Rick Ben talks like a Guy Richie character.

Speaker 3 (20:17):
Because he slurs his words or what he probably all
the plus some straight gangsters. So and he's been drinking
that the whitest hard r on the gangster.

Speaker 2 (20:30):
I'm straight gangster.

Speaker 4 (20:33):
Uh No, that that's uh Rickles project drum tech Ben Albright.

Speaker 2 (20:38):
You know which character am I?

Speaker 3 (20:40):
Guy Ritchie? Anyway?

Speaker 5 (20:42):
Oh, because there's so many to choose from. You're not Turkish, No,
it is no way. Now you called enough to be
Jason Stathum.

Speaker 2 (20:48):
You're not Bricktop either.

Speaker 5 (20:50):
Yeah, that's that's that's not tell.

Speaker 4 (20:55):
Us about the show you got coming up here with
R L P. And I guess Ben will be there.
I'm hoping to be there too, but I know Ben
for sure will be there.

Speaker 3 (21:02):
September fifth, Buffalo Rose and Golden, the historic venue. I
know buzz people have probably been there for eight It
was a great great Ben, You've been totally renovated. We're
doing a show with Freddy Jones Band.

Speaker 4 (21:12):
Nice again.

Speaker 3 (21:13):
Freddy Jones Band band out of Chicago had a couple
of big hits in the nineties and looking forward to that.
It's a ticketed show, so get your tickets at the
Buffalo Rose website Buffalo Rosgolden dot com. Ben will be there,
of course, I will. You got that on your calendar, yep,
So that's next September fifth, is the week before the seasons.

Speaker 2 (21:33):
Okay, yeah, on a Friday night. Very cool, Yeah, very cool.

Speaker 3 (21:36):
You got a lot of time to rest up.

Speaker 2 (21:37):
No tuxio't need it for this one, right.

Speaker 3 (21:39):
No, no black tie affair. We were going to go
out last night and go see Little Moses Jones band
do a benefit, but we heard it was black tire. Yeah,
we're like yesterday, We're like okay, we're out.

Speaker 4 (21:51):
Yeah, trying to create this whole scenarios like I couldn't
go on the radio the next day if I'm wear
a black tie the.

Speaker 5 (21:56):
Night, can't James bonded up on a Friday and then
come here and get the heights of mediocrity that I do.

Speaker 3 (22:01):
Not I went to bed at eight thirty, so I
wouldn't have made it anyway.

Speaker 2 (22:05):
Oh man, what a dream?

Speaker 4 (22:06):
That honestly like, and I don't even do early warning,
like to you eight thirty hits?

Speaker 3 (22:10):
By why did I dream?

Speaker 4 (22:11):
My wife and I were talking about the other eight
thirty hits were like, boy, can we can we get
ready for bed now?

Speaker 2 (22:16):
Like we wind it down? Listen. Yeah, I'm good.

Speaker 4 (22:19):
I think I've done everything I wanted to do in
this day.

Speaker 2 (22:22):
Let's get let's put a bow on it.

Speaker 1 (22:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (22:24):
The kids are like, you know, they're teenagers, and they're
like still bouncing off the walls.

Speaker 3 (22:27):
Yeah. Try getting up at three thirty every morning. By
eight thirty, you're done. That's it.

Speaker 2 (22:32):
Eight thirty am.

Speaker 3 (22:35):
That's true. Right. I quit doing that.

Speaker 5 (22:41):
I quit doing that getting up early stuff when I
got out of the army. I swore never again. So
the sun has to get up before me.

Speaker 4 (22:46):
You say that, and the one day you're gonna have
to work morning, what if you get a morning show?

Speaker 2 (22:50):
That's what I'm saying.

Speaker 3 (22:50):
You got to flip your whole a morning show. Kidding?

Speaker 2 (22:56):
Are you hearing them?

Speaker 3 (22:58):
This is reverse psychology right now.

Speaker 2 (22:59):
I know I'm dark. Nobody would give me.

Speaker 3 (23:03):
See what I'm doing, what I'm doing?

Speaker 2 (23:04):
He know what he would?

Speaker 4 (23:05):
You'd give this charismatic.

Speaker 5 (23:07):
Nobody would want an absolutely bonanza.

Speaker 2 (23:16):
You're so transparent.

Speaker 3 (23:19):
I love that.

Speaker 4 (23:22):
Rick Well, last thing here, man, before we hit the break. Yes,
I really want to give you a huge shot out.
First of all, ROLP, go see Rick Lewis project Phenomenal
phenomenal band. It's a great sisanship, musicistionship, energy, fun, just unbelievable.

Speaker 2 (23:34):
Go see him on September fifth.

Speaker 4 (23:35):
But the second thing is thirty five years Man, you
just celebrated that this week. Uh, so many cool tributes
out there on social media.

Speaker 2 (23:42):
What did that mean to you?

Speaker 4 (23:43):
To see all all of those people that you work
with day and day, I'm working with for so many
years saying those things about you.

Speaker 3 (23:49):
It was overwhelming and I got a bit emotional a
couple of times. You know, I'm not used to that
much attention. Right And Kathy Lee, who's my longtime friend
produced her co host, surprised me on Wednesday and she
didn't tell me who she booked so I had to
go one call after another. I didn't even know who
I was going to be talking to. And the weird

(24:11):
thing is a couple of instances I didn't know who
it was just by their voice. Right, she should have
been holding up holding up a que car R say
this is Lee Larson, who was our market president for
a long time. And I didn't recognize him at first,
and I was mouthing Lee Larson. She's like shaking her head. Yeah,
but yeah, I was overwhelmed by the whole thing, and uh,
what a blessing. I'm so grateful for the run here

(24:34):
and hopefully more years to come.

Speaker 4 (24:37):
Definitely, that's all interest Ago. I completely agree with you
on that. All right, we were lying from Broncos Park
Power by Commas Spair for today's practice. We'll get us
some obserations on today's practice. Keep saying your questions in
on the Kai Commas Spirit Health text line five six
six nine zero. And Rick, by the way, we're not
kicking you off. You want to hang, You're welcome to
hang with us. Nick Ferguson, as I mentioned earlier, he
didn't want to smoke in the Rockies, so he's already

(24:58):
bailed on us.

Speaker 2 (24:58):
You're welcome to hang out as long as you're.

Speaker 3 (25:00):
And I'll sit in the chair for a while. I
want to watch in practice. Yeah, yeah, absolutely, thanks for
having me.

Speaker 2 (25:03):
All Right, we'll be right back here on KOA.

Speaker 1 (25:05):
Broncos Country, Broncos Football.

Speaker 2 (25:10):
His back.

Speaker 1 (25:14):
Is Broncos Country.

Speaker 2 (25:15):
Tonight Training Camp Edition Live.

Speaker 1 (25:18):
From Bronco's Park, powered by Common Spirit.

Speaker 2 (25:21):
KOA At Training Camp is powered by Chevron.

Speaker 1 (25:23):
Colorado Mondial home of the Broncos KOA.

Speaker 4 (25:31):
All right, welcome back.

Speaker 5 (25:32):
We were live Bronco Park, powered by Thomas Spirits, Ryan Edwords,
Benjamin all Bright five six six nine zeros or Ka
with Comma Spirit Health text line.

Speaker 4 (25:39):
If you want to interact with the show again, we
are out here koe At Training Campus, powered by Chevron,
committed to our local communities and safely delivering affordable, reliable
energy that powers Colorado forward.

Speaker 2 (25:51):
And we're out here at practice.

Speaker 4 (25:53):
They're huddled up at the moment we're about to get underway,
I imagine with our Saturday scrimmage.

Speaker 2 (25:59):
We're on until June.

Speaker 4 (26:00):
So in the meantime again, five six six nine zero,
If you want to interact with us, if you have
any questions about what we're seeing out here. We'll be
happy to answer as many of those as we can.
Great stuff from Rick Lewis. Moments ago. Susie Warden already
texted me she's gonna swing by once again. Nick Ferguson
ducking us today. That's a move though. He didn't want smoke.
He didn't want the smoke. He just texted me because
he heard me saying that on the air. He's like

(26:22):
a smoke. He's like, they still gave up totally, hayless Man,
you say what you want to say. I say, dub,
I say.

Speaker 5 (26:28):
I'm just gonna tell Nick Ferguson. During the break, Ryan
put his hands in the shape of a W and
screamed the word wo tang as loud as he could, saying,
Nick Ferguson, a jump on your grave. So yeah, that
sounds like it sounds like something you would say or do.
It's terrible anyways, No, I did more of a Mick Jagger,
like you know, there was a little like the rooster

(26:50):
dance with the neck movement was a little weird.

Speaker 2 (26:52):
It was a little weird, all right.

Speaker 4 (26:54):
So a lot of let it text this one, Rick,
I totally understand the three thirty am wake up call.
I work for Freedom Lay and have to be my
first delivery by five. It sucks out last. Oh god,
that's God.

Speaker 5 (27:06):
Bless you, sir, and thank you for bringing me those
delicious chips at that hour of the day.

Speaker 3 (27:10):
Yeah. I started a new thing on the show about
a month ago called the Crack of Dawn crew. Oh nice,
And that would be one of those guys, and it's
really taken off. One a week we check in with
them and they tell us where where they are, what
they're doing. Uh, everybody, you know, if you start doing
a morning show, Ben and.

Speaker 5 (27:29):
It would be somebody would offer it would be a ratings.

Speaker 3 (27:31):
Bonanza, There's no doubt about it. And you get up
at three thirty in the morning, you're gonna have to
try to relate with those people. Well, I just tell
your people. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (27:40):
I was just tell Dave Temper during the break, like,
if you want to destroy Colorado Morning News, I'm here
for you. If you would to totally tanked that brand,
you will throw dynamite the fish tank.

Speaker 3 (27:50):
You would be the morning guy that just stayed up
all night.

Speaker 5 (27:52):
Yes, I would be, Yeah, this would be my nightcap,
would be the morning show would roll in. Yeah, I
wouldn't be waking up for that. I'd be putting it
to bed right.

Speaker 3 (27:59):
And there's guys that have done that before. They don't
last very long. Dave Tepper probably knows he's show back
in the day. Well, you and you have to be
disciplined like David. I don't. I don't have that gene discipline.

Speaker 5 (28:12):
Okay, people are stunned to find out I made fifteen
years in the army.

Speaker 3 (28:16):
That is amazing to me, now that I've gotten to
know you.

Speaker 5 (28:19):
When you're funny enough, you can get away with anything.

Speaker 3 (28:20):
The guy who licks doorknobs in the bottoms of yeah,
we got it in. I don't get it. Man, there's
so many people listening. What is this doorknob licking thing?

Speaker 5 (28:32):
So many people right now in Denk What is the
doorknob liking thing?

Speaker 3 (28:35):
We're just wondering why you're sick so much.

Speaker 5 (28:37):
I have a terrible immune system thanks to burn pits
in a rack. I mean, it's a tragic thing, but
we're welcome to make fun of it.

Speaker 3 (28:42):
Yeah, let's why I stay away from the doorknobs.

Speaker 2 (28:44):
Man.

Speaker 5 (28:45):
You know, I gotta become a bubble boy, get hermetically
sealed in or else somebody to get sick all the time.

Speaker 2 (28:50):
Yeah, it's easy. You just stop doing those things, right, Yeah, breathing.

Speaker 3 (28:56):
And crowds of people.

Speaker 5 (28:57):
You know, we have to go to a stadium every Sunday.

Speaker 4 (29:02):
A couple more texts five six six, night zero. If
you want to interact with us, Hey, Ben did a
great job for me yesterday.

Speaker 2 (29:08):
This is Ross again, High Ross, Thank you appreciate.

Speaker 5 (29:10):
I tried not to.

Speaker 2 (29:11):
Direct the Ferrari.

Speaker 1 (29:11):
Dude.

Speaker 5 (29:12):
I'm sorry for the last half hour when they wanted
to burn down my house with.

Speaker 2 (29:15):
Tiki torches and Ross is asking a question. Thank you Ross.

Speaker 4 (29:18):
I know we have an excellent defensive line, but there's
an immense amount of talk about how good our offensive.

Speaker 2 (29:23):
Line is this year.

Speaker 4 (29:24):
So I wonder if you're a little bit surprised how
the defense seems to be at least somewhat dominating in
the line.

Speaker 5 (29:30):
Part of that CEV and flow of camp, I mean,
early in camp, the defense tends to be out in
front of the offense. They're still trying to install everything
and get it down and all that kind of stuff.
I think our offensive line gets a lot of running media,
and I think maybe it's a little over inflated relative
to it's what you say, that center position. I kind
of have my eye on with Wattenberg. I think the
you know, minors and bowls are good powers is good
for what he does.

Speaker 2 (29:51):
Mcglinchy's good for what he does.

Speaker 5 (29:53):
But yeah, I mean, Wattenburg's a question mark and we'll
see this year if he rises to the occasion.

Speaker 4 (29:58):
A couple more texts here on in the KWAE Comma
Spirit Health text line five six six nine Zerogan, Well
until noon, Susie Writin is going to swing by in
just a little bit happy Saturday. Ben and Ryan missed
the first part of the show. Sorry if you already
talked about it. But any timeline on the Benito deal?
Are they closed when we did talk about that? And yeah,
I mean, as you reported yesterday on Kasports, you report

(30:19):
again today that Nick Benito would like to wait a
little bit on that, just to see the Micah Parsons
deal and Trey Hendrickson deal get done.

Speaker 5 (30:26):
This is smart, You're you're you don't have to do anything,
and the value of what your your bottom line number
is goes up as other people get bigger and bigger contracts.
He's not going to exceed the Hendrickson or the Parsons deals.
But Benito, when he gets done, when that deal gets done,
whether that's here or not, and I do believe it'll
be here. We'll be between the fourth and the fifth paid,

(30:47):
you know, edge rusher. But so as long as that
average and that floor keeps getting dragged up by other contracts,
it's that's just helping him out. He just got to
come out here and do his job and let the
market take care of itself.

Speaker 4 (30:55):
We were remarking earlier Rick about how we appreciate that
it is in a storyline with guys holding out or
holding in, there isn't a lot of using the media
to sort of fire back at the front office. It's
kind of a breath of fresh air that this organization
is functioning this way right now.

Speaker 3 (31:12):
Yeah, it's totally different than what you're seeing with the
Dallas Cowboys right now and some of these other teams.
And yeah, absolutely right. As I mentioned earlier when I
first came on, this is a finally tuned machine they
got going here, and it doesn't hurt to have the
richest ownership group in the NFL, which they have. And
it's also really cool how Peyton and Peyton work together.

(31:33):
Those two guys make a heck of a team. I
think George Peyton's on the last year of his deal,
Am I right about that? Yeah? I don't know why
you wouldn't give him another deal too. Those guys are
great together.

Speaker 4 (31:44):
Ben reported this morning that he thinks after the season
wraps that they'll be looking at George Payton extension absolutely.

Speaker 5 (31:52):
Yeah, yeah, I think large it'll be equitable for all involved.
So and then they've really they've really built something here.
I mean it's there's national note just on what the
Broncos are doing and what they've done and what George
Payton has done to improve the floor of this roster.
We're talking about guys not making the team this year.
You know, we have to cut get through the practice.
We have been talking about that and how many years
you know, well, you know, when the cutdown day comes,

(32:13):
maybe we can grab some guys off the way. No,
there's none of that this year. It's it's it's our
guys that people are wanting absolute and that's raising the
floor in the quality of the roster.

Speaker 4 (32:20):
It's a really good question here when it comes to
the pass rush. Are we seeing a high percentage of
five man pressure looks and blitzes in camp this year
or is it the defensive line feasting on the offensive line.
VJ was very blitz heavy last year, especially early on
before the Moss injury forced him to call the dogs.

Speaker 2 (32:35):
Was called off the dogs.

Speaker 5 (32:36):
Certain they'll continue to be blitz heavy as long as
everybody's healthy. That's that's part of that's a hallmark of
Evans Joseph defense. He puts the corners on an island.
He comes from the Wade Phillips school of send everything
you can and put your guys on an island and
get there before you get exposed, as opposed to the
Vic Fangio school, which will send the least amount of
people you need to and drop everybody back.

Speaker 3 (32:54):
So you'll see you'll see a lot more of that.

Speaker 5 (32:57):
I would say, you get pre snap. You get a
six or seven man look pre snap. Now they don't
always send six or seven, but you get a six
or seven man look. They try to keep you guessing
who's actually coming and who's dropping back. And that's that's
what Vance does. It get stems back to his mentor
way Phillips.

Speaker 4 (33:12):
Yeah, I know, I wouldn't say what Vance is doing,
and this is something that probably doesn't get talked about enough.
A lot of the oh carefully, Rick, A lot of
the stuff that we see out here is scripted, right
vance Maybe he is calling certain plays in a way
that that because Sean wants his offense to get certain looks.

(33:33):
So if he's sending a blitz, it's in part because
Sean wants to see how his team reacts to it, right,
And so that.

Speaker 2 (33:38):
That does an often get talked about.

Speaker 4 (33:40):
I think that the things that usually you usually can
take away from training camp practices, you know, I think, Rick,
the thing that usually can take away is compete moments.
If a guy wins a rep versus another guy, right,
more so than oh, well, hey, the defenses is sending
blitzes and this is what we know about the defense
because of that, or the the offensive line is running

(34:00):
the ball a certain way, well, this is what we
I think that more than anything, is just like, hey,
if this receiver catches the pass over this other dB,
you know, that was a compete moment and that was
really good to see.

Speaker 3 (34:10):
Yeah, And typically both the offense in the defense knows
exactly what they're doing on each side of the ball.
That's right, they know what's coming. That's so. Yeah, So
you can't read too much into all of this that
you're seeing here.

Speaker 4 (34:21):
Yeah, Vj's not scheming against Seawan's offense, like, not that way,
unless Seawan is asking for it exactly.

Speaker 3 (34:28):
I just saw and we'll never know out there. Yeah,
Audrick Guestimy is having a solid camp and he needs to.
I think he's one of those guys that might be
on the bubble. And I mentioned this last week. He
looks a little slim down to me. He looks quicker
to me than he was last year.

Speaker 5 (34:44):
Julia put on weight and I Audrick lost it. So yeah,
we'll see how that works out for both of them.

Speaker 4 (34:48):
Yeah, we're getting sort of the early portions of what
will be sort of a satursy scrimmage. I saw a
nice catch from Davon Bailey who took it a field
just a moment ago as well. Of course, they're they're
wall that's off here from the hand almost intentionally, feels like,
but they walled us off here with the offensive line.
The biggest guys on the field are standing right in
front of us as we're watching practice. We can see

(35:08):
kind of between a few of them Sean.

Speaker 5 (35:10):
When he was with jogging out there, told him standing,
we want to spite Ryan Edwards today any.

Speaker 3 (35:14):
Possible way that we can all the hate to Ryan
and only to Ryan.

Speaker 4 (35:17):
Well, partly because I'm the one that told everybody that
the passer tan interception wasn't an interception because there was
a defensive pass interference that got called.

Speaker 5 (35:26):
Sean plus column for you, Van, I was the one who.

Speaker 4 (35:29):
I gotcha they threw the flag on that. But the
media was so quick to tweet it out that PS
two got an interception. They weren't actually watching that there
was a flag on the field. But you know, whatever
again five zeros or Kay Conspery all the text line.
I just got tired of arguing with people yesterday on
the on Twitter because there was like, oh, everybody else
is reporting that PS two did get an interception. I'm like, yeah,

(35:49):
because they reached for their phones before they actually looked
at the field and saw the flag.

Speaker 2 (35:53):
But including then by the.

Speaker 5 (35:54):
Big picture Edwards right there, Yeah, Benki, two interceptions.

Speaker 3 (36:00):
What are you trying to put Don't put that evil
on me, Ricky, Bobby, No.

Speaker 4 (36:02):
You were you were too busy back You're talking about
four one k's I'm just saying that when you walked
out show.

Speaker 5 (36:07):
Filling in for Ross commands game, we had to do
some you know, we had to talk about things like
like economics. You were talking about the Triffin paradox, and
we're welcome to do so. Sure we won't lose listeners.

Speaker 3 (36:15):
He's too busy trying to build up his immunity with
licking door knob.

Speaker 5 (36:18):
That's right, that's right.

Speaker 3 (36:19):
Try try a TV remote. It's portable, you just take
it with you.

Speaker 2 (36:22):
That's right.

Speaker 4 (36:23):
Too busy using reverse psychology on a morning show he
wants that's.

Speaker 5 (36:26):
Every time I go drink out of a every time
I go drink out of a water fountain, I just
swallow the whole thing just to try to.

Speaker 3 (36:31):
Put the whole thing in your mom Like, Yeah, that's
that's smart. That's how you build immunity. Right, that's good
getting those terms.

Speaker 2 (36:36):
And we are definitely not pulling that sound bite.

Speaker 4 (36:39):
Uh again five six six nine zero.

Speaker 2 (36:41):
Uh, this one's a good one. Best guess on new
stadium location, Ben.

Speaker 5 (36:45):
It's gonna I think everybody knows it's gonna be the
real yards. That's that's where it's gonna be. I'll just
tell you okay, I mean, and I mean it is.

Speaker 4 (36:52):
Mary came out the other day and said, they're getting
getting closer on that.

Speaker 5 (36:55):
Yeah, they're they're very they're so close on that. It's happening,
okay really yeah for real, Yes, okay.

Speaker 4 (37:02):
I did appreciate though, because we had the money on
a week ago today and the money's wonderful and there's
always good chance to Yeah. He was up there on
the roof when we got a chance to one hundred
hunred year part. Yeah, and then he was up up
in the roof yesterday were installing the final beam.

Speaker 2 (37:17):
Yeah, we're not.

Speaker 5 (37:18):
They need to they need a rebrand on the naming
of that.

Speaker 2 (37:21):
I was fine with it. You were the You were
reading into that.

Speaker 5 (37:23):
I wasn't reading anything. Everybody was reading into that.

Speaker 4 (37:26):
Nope, just you.

Speaker 5 (37:27):
No, No, it wasn't anyways.

Speaker 4 (37:32):
But he said, as we're asking him about the stadium,
and of course he met with the media as well,
that oh you know, they're still negotiating some things then
and then you have the mayor out there like saying,
oh no, it's definitely going here.

Speaker 3 (37:41):
That's going right here.

Speaker 5 (37:42):
Here is the spot right here, not so much here
or here, but right here.

Speaker 4 (37:47):
So I just crack up because the Broncos have to
say it that way, and I totally respect that. But
I do appreciate Mayor Mike Johnson's like, I don't I
don't have to say anything. I just say exactly what
I want to say.

Speaker 5 (37:56):
That's, you know, I'm not beholding anything.

Speaker 3 (37:58):
So well in the marror of low Tree say the
same thing a couple of weeks ago. Yeah, they were
still state over there.

Speaker 5 (38:05):
It's yeah, there are still meetings happening. I'm doing air
quotes right now. You can't see me on the radio.
There's still meetings happening. But Dutch it's that's where it's going.

Speaker 4 (38:12):
The second team offense now out on the field with
charts thatam hopefully we see a little bit of a
better statem. Is that what you're saying, Yeah, well, just
fewer pre snap penalties. I mean this is that that
was kind of a disaster.

Speaker 2 (38:25):
Spark and burn the tape from yesterday.

Speaker 4 (38:26):
Because I think you had you had seven by my accounts,
pre snap penalties.

Speaker 3 (38:30):
It was bad.

Speaker 4 (38:31):
And then you had a fumbled snap, and then and
the two minute on the second play of the two
minute drill that they were doing at the end of
practice through an interception. So I mean it was just
an I like I may said, it's a burn the
tape day for the second team offense.

Speaker 3 (38:44):
And you guys were I'm sure listening to that NFL
teleconference on Monday. That's a priority this year. They want
to clean up those pre snap penalties, and obviously yesterday,
uh the referees were working on that with the Denver Broncos.

Speaker 5 (38:57):
Nothing exasperates a coach more than than to errors like that.
You know, things that you can control versus things that.

Speaker 2 (39:03):
Happen in the heat of battle.

Speaker 5 (39:04):
We talked about that a little bit earlier. It's that
is the one thing you will see coaches get a
pop eleptic about one thing, but it's one of the
things you will see them get a pop eleptic about,
is just the unforced errors.

Speaker 4 (39:15):
So we had first team out there completions I think
to vele, I thought, I thought I was aw sherfield
and then maybe Franklin got to catch in there. Like
I said, second teams out there right now, a couple
of wayward passes there from Jared Sidham.

Speaker 5 (39:28):
Instead on the spark and might might need to keep
trying to fire that zippo up or not getting much
of a spark zippo dating myself to the nineties or whatever.

Speaker 4 (39:39):
The text coming on the KA Comma Spirit Health text
line five six six nine zero been all right, Ryan Edwards,
Rick Lewis, Susy Ward's gonna join us here in just
a second.

Speaker 2 (39:45):
And the update on how many starters will play versus
the forty nine.

Speaker 4 (39:48):
Ers, if at all, that's give me kind of interesting
to see what they do, because they'll have the joint
practice next Thursday, Rick, and it's usually from that they
maybe assess what they're going to be doing in the
preseason game. Oftentimes, if it feels like now in this
era of training camp in preseason, teams will use kind
of both as a way to kind of get what

(40:08):
they need out of it.

Speaker 3 (40:09):
Right.

Speaker 4 (40:09):
They have certain things that they want to see in
the training camp practice, and you'll certainly see starters there,
but then maybe if they see enough from there, they
don't put them in the preseason.

Speaker 3 (40:17):
And they have two joint practices this year, they've won
with the Cardinals yep the following week, So yeah, that
will be interesting. I wouldn't be surprised if we don't
see bon Nicks in that first preseason game, if they
play him a series or two, I don't care. It
doesn't matter to me, not that they can care what
I care. But I'm okay with that, Susie. But I

(40:38):
don't think it's really necessary to do that with him
this year.

Speaker 4 (40:41):
A little peak.

Speaker 2 (40:41):
Behind the curtain, though.

Speaker 4 (40:42):
I do appreciate the amount of work and it might
even be double or triple the amount of work that
you and Dave and Susie have to put into the
broadcasts for preseason because of the amount of players you
have to get to know. And then there's moments in
the fourth quarter or when you guys are like the way.

Speaker 5 (40:57):
Who the come through the six pages here a bit?

Speaker 4 (41:00):
Who is this guy?

Speaker 3 (41:01):
Every single game it's like that at the end of
the game there and there's you know, players have the
same number, you're not sure which one is which, And
then there's always that one guy that's out there that's
not even on the roster. Yeah, and you got to
try to figure that he always has a ridiculous name too.
It's not like Dan Smith. These were always hard to
put out, you, right.

Speaker 4 (41:21):
I see what you did there. I think last year
in the third preseason game, if I remember correctly, we
did the text line right.

Speaker 2 (41:27):
It was Dave and Rick.

Speaker 4 (41:28):
They ended up doing the you guys did like answer
questions on the text line and.

Speaker 2 (41:32):
That was kind of fun.

Speaker 3 (41:33):
I liked that. That was cool.

Speaker 4 (41:34):
Yeah, I'm just.

Speaker 2 (41:34):
Throwing that out there, bringing that back this year.

Speaker 5 (41:36):
I don't know around here to pick those kinds of decisions,
but you know, the text line stuff, morning shows things
like that.

Speaker 2 (41:43):
I'm not trying to put you on.

Speaker 4 (41:44):
The spot, just trying to like morning shows, you know,
let's see what happens. So whether it's the stationary whatever,
you know, if you want to start a station in fact,
you know.

Speaker 3 (41:53):
You know, flip one, flip book one and putting me
on it again. I'm just saying, if you want it
off the Els morning.

Speaker 5 (42:00):
Show, I am there for you as long as we
can believe that you show up every day.

Speaker 3 (42:03):
That's part of the charm.

Speaker 2 (42:05):
Will hear, won't.

Speaker 4 (42:08):
It's a suspense, charge yeah, Susie is like, did you
just say charged?

Speaker 3 (42:11):
It's the suspense that drives the ratings. It's that's where
the ratings.

Speaker 2 (42:15):
But it's the suspense.

Speaker 3 (42:18):
We'll get people tuning in to see if he's he's just.

Speaker 6 (42:20):
There, Susie warrig You think there's suspense for that?

Speaker 2 (42:24):
Oh, I think there is?

Speaker 4 (42:25):
Do you? Yeah?

Speaker 6 (42:26):
People anymore once you mentioned charm and your name in
the same sentence, Yeah, yeah, it's uh.

Speaker 5 (42:32):
You know, some people say I'm delusional.

Speaker 2 (42:33):
Some of them are right.

Speaker 4 (42:35):
I don't think program directors typically and I have never
been one. I don't think they like to play Russian
Roulette with their hosts showing up for their.

Speaker 3 (42:44):
Don't play enough Russi Roulette?

Speaker 2 (42:45):
Is that what it is?

Speaker 3 (42:46):
We don't take it up, They don't take enough chances.

Speaker 2 (42:48):
Are you bringing Russian Roulette back?

Speaker 4 (42:51):
Pro Russian?

Speaker 2 (42:52):
Pro Russian Roulette? Because hey, well my hosts show up
for his will you or won't he?

Speaker 3 (42:57):
That's I mean, you get it, you have, but it's.

Speaker 6 (42:59):
Really not the place where that happens. More often than not.
We've had so many characters in our building over the years.
We're like, I'm not sure if they're going to show
or not.

Speaker 3 (43:07):
Very true, Very true. You just stumbled upon a great
morning show name, Willie r. Won't he? That could be
your name? Yeah, for your next morning show.

Speaker 6 (43:17):
That's I'm gonna won't suit him.

Speaker 3 (43:20):
Dank Pepper just wrote that down, you know, and by
that time I made suiting him.

Speaker 4 (43:27):
We got thirteen offense out there, Susan, good to see you.

Speaker 6 (43:29):
It's good to see you guys too. Yeah. I thought
i'd come a little earlier than last week. So yeah, no,
this is nice. It's good to be on you.

Speaker 2 (43:35):
You sprints it in here.

Speaker 4 (43:36):
We got like ten minutes of you arguing with about
the wide receivers.

Speaker 2 (43:39):
I thought it was great. That's right last week, did
you finally put it? Tell him where he was? You know,
he won't listen.

Speaker 6 (43:43):
To Well, he was on the front of the horse
and you're on the back of the horse. That's what
we ended up with at the end of that.

Speaker 5 (43:48):
Yeah, it was that the horse drawing, that's the good
drawing on the back end, and like the stick figure
on the front.

Speaker 2 (43:53):
You didn't see the AI.

Speaker 3 (43:54):
You didn't see the AI.

Speaker 6 (43:55):
Oh Ben, it's lovely. And Ryan's got his little p
s l and riding front of the horse and you're
right behind him. Yeah, no, it was. It was very
It was a very special AI moment.

Speaker 2 (44:06):
Medium shirts, of course.

Speaker 6 (44:08):
I was, yes, like just like your medium olive colored
shirt today, but.

Speaker 4 (44:11):
It was black, leaving leaving nothing to the imagination.

Speaker 3 (44:14):
Nothing. Look when you got it, and when you don't
got it.

Speaker 6 (44:18):
Flawed wow or something else.

Speaker 2 (44:23):
You like us. Was watching practice a little bit.

Speaker 6 (44:26):
A little bit, yeah, I mean I saw the same
thing you saw, which was good to see if ala
get a catch, because like Rick had said, they're just
I mean, I heard you guys on the way in.
I haven't seen a whole lot out of it. I
know we talked wide receivers last Saturday when I was here.
And not that he's not a guy that won't make it,
because I know he's one of your locks, but we
haven't seen right, is he not?

Speaker 4 (44:46):
Well, of course you're you're framing that he's worth your locks.

Speaker 6 (44:50):
I want to say it. He's one of your guys
that you were like, these guys are making the roster,
and not that I don't want to see that happen,
but we just haven't seen as much right from him
this week. So it's good to s him out there
getting a huge, pretty low.

Speaker 2 (45:01):
Key trash talker.

Speaker 4 (45:02):
I like it.

Speaker 3 (45:03):
I love this to say anything the bathroom. I'm being quiet,
but I'll get an audience a too.

Speaker 2 (45:09):
Right here.

Speaker 6 (45:11):
You can you guys can chime in.

Speaker 3 (45:14):
Just keep going trash and Ryan.

Speaker 6 (45:16):
It's great Hey, we're fine. No, I don't like to
do that.

Speaker 5 (45:20):
If the hill, I like to have fun.

Speaker 6 (45:21):
You guys know, if I.

Speaker 4 (45:22):
Have to die on the hill, if I have to
die on the Hill of Devon Bailey makes this roster,
I'll live there.

Speaker 2 (45:27):
I'm fine.

Speaker 6 (45:28):
Yeah, No, I mean I would think that he would.

Speaker 5 (45:30):
Yes, he's running his wide receiver three right now, so
I would suggest that he's probably in line for it.

Speaker 4 (45:35):
By the way, you're on wide receiver three saying that
Evan Ingram is wide receiver two. Aren't you a head slot? Yeah,
you're You're so predictable. Yeah, he's wide receiver too on
this team. But then yes, according to Ben, Evan Ingram
will but Evan Ingram is is gonna rick. Evan Ingram
is probably going to soak up the second most targets.

Speaker 2 (45:53):
Would you agree with that?

Speaker 3 (45:54):
Yeah, Evan Ingram looks more like a wide receiver than
a tight end to me, like a like a heavy
slot player.

Speaker 2 (46:00):
Kind of too early to be drinking. Yeah, we we
have a drinking game. Heavy slot.

Speaker 6 (46:07):
You have to drink out of your Chick fil A.
Every time I was looking.

Speaker 2 (46:10):
For something, I got nothing to hear.

Speaker 6 (46:11):
So you have a drinking game and tell you what,
don't choke on an ice cube.

Speaker 4 (46:17):
It's a little bit of a warning to our audience
because they get you know, it's it's early. You know,
we don't get them going too much at this point.

Speaker 6 (46:26):
Somewhere.

Speaker 5 (46:26):
That's yeah, with the amount you're consuming.

Speaker 4 (46:31):
Just to deal with me, miss rick Uh, I'll use
you here in this situation to to push back against
Susie who says that the six wide receivers.

Speaker 2 (46:40):
Trying to create drama with the broadcast.

Speaker 4 (46:43):
To the top six wide receivers, in my opinion, are
pretty much locked in.

Speaker 2 (46:48):
Do you disagree with that sentiment?

Speaker 4 (46:50):
Okay, so we got Sutton le Memes, Franklin Bryant, Pat Bryant,
and Trent Sherfield.

Speaker 2 (46:59):
I'm going to agree with that, thanks, sir.

Speaker 3 (47:02):
I'm going to say yes.

Speaker 6 (47:03):
Would you not also say that there is a potential
by the times training Camp has done that there could
be that dark horse that comes in that.

Speaker 3 (47:12):
Makes seven, Like who would that be?

Speaker 6 (47:14):
Or maybe they keep seven?

Speaker 4 (47:16):
Well, you got the Newton, you get the you know,
is this like a Michael Bandy kind of conference?

Speaker 3 (47:22):
That's the one name it won No, But kyries Rowan,
you ays a returner maybe yeah, maybe.

Speaker 6 (47:30):
You just maybe they can keep seven and then and
then Ryan gets to be right, Well.

Speaker 3 (47:34):
If somebody gets it, I mean, godch who somebody gets injured.

Speaker 2 (47:37):
This is non injury.

Speaker 5 (47:39):
You're already giving yourself. You're already carving yourself, so that
that's given. Like, if there's an injury, do you just
want to go out.

Speaker 3 (47:44):
There and grab those gold posts and move over here?

Speaker 4 (47:46):
See that that would be like the like saying, hey,
the top four or five inside linebackers are done, and
then Drew Sanders gets hurt, so now we have to.

Speaker 6 (47:53):
Yeah, you can't, Yeah, you can't.

Speaker 5 (47:56):
Injury exception. Yes, these afternoon show divas. Yeah, take another
sip of your drink.

Speaker 4 (48:01):
There zero five, six, six nine zeros are a ka
Commas beer health text lines. We're live from Broncos Park,
powered by Common Spirit. We've got two thirds of the
broadcast crew here. If Dave shows up a man, we've
bring them all on. It's be a lot of fun.

Speaker 2 (48:15):
That's right, We're off for another hour.

Speaker 4 (48:17):
We're gonna continue to break down practice doing some special
team stuff. Right now.

Speaker 2 (48:20):
Boy, look at our assi, our AUSSI punter godly.

Speaker 4 (48:23):
I like him a lot. The stash by the way.

Speaker 2 (48:26):
Is it back? It's glorious. Okay, Oh, it's glorious in
the accent.

Speaker 5 (48:29):
He's gonna wax that thing up, so you gotta love
the accents.

Speaker 4 (48:32):
Oh yeah, Susie Wargen, Rick Lewis, Benjaminal Bright, Ryan, that
was well.

Speaker 2 (48:35):
Right back them.

Speaker 3 (48:36):
You go use the restroom up, bring a door knob
back for you. That's how you build them, even right
