(00:48):
out there.
Speaker 2 (00:48):
Susie, good to see you.
Speaker 5 (00:49):
Good to see you guys. Yeah, thanks for having me.
Speaker 3 (00:51):
I just I walk back that way to go go
do something. And the guy sit on the rail. There's
like Ben's Albright say hey, and he said go tell
Susie Wargon and Ryan Eber' there. Great.
Speaker 5 (01:01):
Okay, No he didn't exactly what happened.
Speaker 3 (01:05):
That is a real thing that really happened, Is that right?
Speaker 2 (01:07):
A lot of.
Speaker 4 (01:08):
Questions still coming in here on the Kawae Comma Spirit
Health text line, so we can appreciate that a lot of.
Speaker 2 (01:12):
Comments as well. I love having you guys back on
the radio. Good times.
Speaker 4 (01:17):
Your friend David smithersone there, David BCT back in the
day to bring him back, do we though, Yeah, we.
Speaker 3 (01:24):
Do, Okay.
Speaker 5 (01:26):
It's always good to have loyal people the dream if
they seem.
Speaker 4 (01:29):
Stockersh somebody uh not as sort of agreeing with Susie
but talking about Joaquin Davis.
Speaker 3 (01:36):
Yeah, Davis. Still those dark Horse and dark Horse guys. Yeah,
I think you're probably practice squad guys. But if they
keep seven, one of those guys could could maybe our guy.
Speaker 4 (01:43):
Andrew Mason said that he ran a four to three
six of his Pro day six. Wow, four three six
Now it's Pro Day, so thirty eight yard dash. But
yeah yeah, so I mean again, but you're talking about
a round a four to four for a six foot
four for.
Speaker 5 (01:56):
It's pretty good. That's pretty fast.
Speaker 3 (01:58):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:59):
So to to give you just a little bit of
a possibility scenario here, you know, he's giving it the
language here, he's giving.
Speaker 2 (02:07):
You exactly from I was saying same thing to Nick Firris.
Speaker 5 (02:11):
Doesn't like to be wrong, am I right?
Speaker 2 (02:14):
I like to be wrong.
Speaker 4 (02:15):
I have admitted that I have admitted the error in
my ways every afternoon since I started the show with Dave,
because because if I don't, then I'm really going to
hear it.
Speaker 5 (02:25):
That's true.
Speaker 4 (02:25):
So I've admitted being wrong. Oftentimes I just don't think
I'm wrong in this thing. But I will say Joaquin
Davis is one of those common conversations. If he pops
in the preseason, it's going to be an interesting dialogue
for the Broncos. Now, one thing that I think we
don't talk about enough is the initial fifty three doesn't
necessarily reflect what the final fifty three is going to be.
So there could be a scenario where they feel like
(02:46):
they have to protect Joaquin Davis. So we get to
that first fifty three, Hey, maybe maybe they are keeping
seven wide receivers because they don't think they can sneak
him through with the practice squad till after.
Speaker 5 (02:56):
And that's the game I kind of love to watch
is And that's very telling because and people don't think
about that that they've got to then go through waivers
and make sure they can clear. So if you're afraid
that a guy is not going to make it all
the way through, you've got to protect and that's where
people will not why they keep that guy on not
that well, because he's going to be gone. And then
and they see a future for him at some point,
whether it's next week, whether it's week seventeen. Want to
(03:18):
have him there and not be on another team.
Speaker 3 (03:20):
Are the guys you know you've been talking up all
camp or whatever, and then they wave them because they're
going to bring right back to the practice. They've already
told him, Man, we got your apartment over here, sitting here,
don't answer the phone for two days. Yeah, we're gonna
bring you right back.
Speaker 2 (03:30):
Yes.
Speaker 5 (03:30):
You know, there's a lot of that that goes on
behind the scenes where they're talking to guys about this
is what's going to happen. There's going to be a
press release, but don't answer your phone and we're gonna
bring you right back over Yeah.
Speaker 4 (03:40):
So like the Michael Burtons and the nadad Kins the world,
like those guys that probably make the roster, but they
in the meantime might want to I've just missed and
you know it's.
Speaker 5 (03:50):
Not the most glamorous life, but they're still making a
pay check. That's right, there's still and you know you
got one more year, one more year. You're getting more
and more invested, and as soon as you get to
a certain point, then you're, you know, really fully vested
in the NFL. And if that's the way your path is,
I mean, that's some of the I love those stories
of those grinders that just keep coming back and they're
not the bon Nixes, but they've just given all that
time and sweat and then they're they're doing okay for
(04:13):
thee Yeah.
Speaker 4 (04:14):
Now, one thing that's gonna be interesting to watch speaking
of that process is Drew Sanders because they can't put
him on IR now even though he probably missed the
beginning of the season.
Speaker 3 (04:23):
Because they put him on.
Speaker 2 (04:23):
IR now, he's done for the year.
Speaker 4 (04:25):
So you have to actually wait until after that initiat
fifty three. He's got to be on the active roster
and then you can place him on ION.
Speaker 5 (04:32):
You can't put him on IR in pre season.
Speaker 2 (04:34):
Nope, for the year.
Speaker 3 (04:35):
So what you there's a little roster mechanics. So then
you'll you drop somebody and then the next day you
put Sanders on IRN and then you'll bring that other
guy pack.
Speaker 5 (04:41):
Is that No, It's always been that way.
Speaker 3 (04:44):
Always been that way for years.
Speaker 4 (04:46):
Yeah, yeah, so it's yeah, not always, but yeah, it's
been that way. So that that's one thing just in
case people were wondering there's not going to be there
for the beginning of the year.
Speaker 2 (04:53):
He won't be. But they can't do it. They won't
do that now now they need.
Speaker 5 (04:57):
To because you can carry so many guys, so you
don't need to put somebody on IR.
Speaker 4 (05:00):
But they did put Johnny Walker on IR, who is
an edge rusher out here, don't You don't have to
make the joke then, but they did put Johnny Walker
on IR this week.
Speaker 3 (05:09):
That he's like, just don't even Oh we signed him
for one hundred and sixty thousand dollars. That that story
came out, I thought that was j Budet story. I
didn't think that was an actual player feel good, great
about a blue label the only way to go. That
was almost interception for Riley Moss. Great positioning by the
way on that right, I mean, you saw he was
(05:29):
he was battling there with Marvin Mims, and you know,
maybe a bigger receiver, maybe a Corland Sutton or Susie's
guide Davon Beley, probably be able to fight through that guy.
He just took away my guy.
Speaker 5 (05:42):
Just because he caught of pass doesn't mean he's my guy.
Speaker 3 (05:45):
He's my guy.
Speaker 5 (05:47):
I'm a I'm a Marvin Mims guy. Okay, I am
big Marvin.
Speaker 2 (05:52):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (05:52):
Well he's he's.
Speaker 5 (05:53):
And he's becoming more vocal this year.
Speaker 6 (05:55):
Oh yeah, loving with him and yes, in that drink,
Yeah that was that was fun and he is he's
got to really as you get a chance to interview
these guys right after the game, oftentimes we're in the
locker room, he's got a very try sense of humor.
Speaker 2 (06:09):
I love it.
Speaker 5 (06:10):
Yes, No, he's very fun. And it's fun to watch
these guys as they progress year to year of how
much more you know? And they get more comfortable with us.
They know where we're coming from. But it's fun to
kind of see them break out of their shells and
get more comfortable.
Speaker 3 (06:22):
Are you trying to put that in football partlance? Did
you mean he was sneaky?
Speaker 7 (06:24):
Hilarious?
Speaker 3 (06:26):
Nice?
Speaker 2 (06:27):
I see what you did there, And actually, you know what,
you get half credit for that?
Speaker 3 (06:29):
All right, I'll take it. Yeah, it's pretty good.
Speaker 5 (06:31):
You just have way too many inside jokes.
Speaker 3 (06:33):
Well, that's when they call a white guy sneaky. Fast.
You know what I mean.
Speaker 4 (06:36):
Yeah, wrote lunch pale, lunch harbor, you know, blue collar guy. Yeah,
coach his son, coaches son.
Speaker 3 (06:41):
Right, high football like you.
Speaker 5 (06:42):
You have to be a white guy to do that.
Speaker 2 (06:43):
It's usually white.
Speaker 3 (06:44):
Well, the white guys are sneaky face.
Speaker 5 (06:46):
He can't be fast, sneak fast ed McAffrey white light right, right, yeah, right, okay,
I got.
Speaker 3 (06:51):
You more quick than more quicker than high football like you. Yeah,
you know you have talked about high So he's a
really good kid. You want the kind of guy you
want your daughter mary.
Speaker 2 (07:01):
Yeah, that's that's what That's what Aby said. That last one, though,
by the way, is really messed up.
Speaker 1 (07:05):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (07:06):
Probably, Yeah, it's been set. The worst part it has
been said. It's been set. That's why I'm repeating. It's
not it's not a me thing, it's it's.
Speaker 5 (07:13):
Been said people to say that it's kind of how
you want your daughter married.
Speaker 3 (07:16):
Yeah. But when you're saying that about why the implication
there is that? Yeah, so the rest of the body
on the text line is gonna wait a minute, Yeah,
the rest of them are still very funny. Yes, that
would we have to strike from the strike from the record.
Speaker 5 (07:29):
I got you.
Speaker 4 (07:30):
Then did you see the outstanding level of matriculation by
Justin Field?
Speaker 3 (07:34):
Yes? Stop stop. First of all, we don't matriculate. That
is not a thing. And yeah, Justin Fields was like
two of twenty passing over there something.
Speaker 2 (07:42):
If you have words that you justentriculation? Yeah, see he
doesn't like the word matriculate.
Speaker 1 (07:45):
I hate it.
Speaker 5 (07:46):
Oh can you not say it in this context?
Speaker 3 (07:48):
I hate it?
Speaker 5 (07:48):
Does not apply, you know, I'm just asking there's some
words you can't say.
Speaker 3 (07:52):
Can you just right? Yeah, the FCC does not allow
us to talk about down the field. Can you even
pronounce it matriculation?
Speaker 5 (07:59):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (07:59):
There? And in the academic environment it works.
Speaker 5 (08:02):
On the football field, that doesn't, can we swos?
Speaker 3 (08:04):
The one that started was that Keith Jackson was the
one that was doing that. What was the one that
started that?
Speaker 2 (08:08):
Can you not pronounce that word?
Speaker 3 (08:12):
Words?
Speaker 5 (08:13):
No, Sometimes there's words you just don't like because they're
hard to pronounce, Like there's just work. Like my daughter
doesn't like the word inspection because she says inspanction and
she can't say anything and I talk about.
Speaker 3 (08:24):
Like spaghetti growing up, you know.
Speaker 5 (08:27):
Exactly. Yeah, I thought maybe you just could. I'm sorry.
Speaker 3 (08:29):
I mispronounced. I mispronounced the word ridiculous for way too
many years.
Speaker 5 (08:32):
I oh wow, I read it first before a lot
of people say, et cetera. And it's really and I.
Speaker 2 (08:38):
Won't say what I call all interception?
Speaker 5 (08:39):
Ohonix?
Speaker 2 (08:42):
Was thatfanga again? No, that's PSPs two?
Speaker 3 (08:45):
I think, yeah, is it? He's behind like blind? I can't.
Speaker 2 (08:50):
I think that's PS two. They got that one, and
that one looks like.
Speaker 5 (08:54):
Tall enough to be PS two, but maybe so.
Speaker 3 (08:56):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (08:56):
Who the interception by Hufangi yesterday was unbelievable. That he
was coming downhill is almost like he read that thing
from the very beginning.
Speaker 2 (09:04):
But yeah, that was Bonis kind of rolling out to
his right. Let's see here.
Speaker 4 (09:09):
I'm waiting for our our media brethren nowt there to
tell us who that was.
Speaker 3 (09:14):
That are much closer.
Speaker 2 (09:15):
Yeah, they got a little.
Speaker 3 (09:16):
Bit better Van.
Speaker 5 (09:16):
He got his jersey kind of half over.
Speaker 3 (09:19):
Here in Lineman.
Speaker 5 (09:21):
Oh yeah, that's Pat.
Speaker 2 (09:23):
Yeah, I was pretty I was pretty sure that was Pat.
Speaker 5 (09:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (09:27):
I don't know a couple of interceptions in training camps
to that doesn't wear you at all, right, no.
Speaker 5 (09:34):
Time, right, yeah, yeah, and probably practiced them and they're
supposed to get them. That's right. We practice interceptions, don't we.
I thought that was what we did.
Speaker 2 (09:41):
Yeah, pun Schumer used to practice that, throwing out of bounds.
Speaker 3 (09:47):
We practiced so much.
Speaker 5 (09:50):
Yeah, I can't imagine why.
Speaker 4 (09:52):
But we're gonna hold go ahead, and you need you
to throw this to PS two. He's got to get
his hands right for the season.
Speaker 2 (09:56):
So if you could just.
Speaker 5 (09:57):
Make a mistake on purpose, we need to we.
Speaker 3 (09:59):
Need to set a but we were set. We were
practice setting up the blocking for the return. So both
if you just mail one to us. Uh.
Speaker 5 (10:06):
By the way, Hufunga you know what his nickname is
that the players call him uh Huff, which doesn't make
sense because it's Hufunga, but it's hoff so because he
was at Paster Tan's charity event. So I was like, hey,
I want to make sure I'm saying your name right,
like it's it's not one that was rolling off the tongue,
you know for a while there until we get to
know him better. And he's like, just call me Huff,
and I was like, well, then nobody will know you
at all if it's tough because it's Hufunga Huff. Yeah,
(10:29):
so all of them call him Huff. They call him Huff,
So there you go. If you if you need a
short one for him, it's Huff.
Speaker 4 (10:35):
What did you think of these Zach Allen extensions, Susan Oh.
Speaker 5 (10:39):
I love it. Yeah, that was good, you know, and
then there's there's not that much more really, I mean
there's really just a I mean Nick, you got to
take care of Nick. And then I know JFM wants one.
Malcolm will be content, he'll hang out. He doesn't. He's
not chirping for one at all. They're all going to
get paid. I love seeing Zach Allen though, and he's
one of my favorite guys. It's just a he's a
(10:59):
lunch pale guy.
Speaker 3 (11:00):
Yeah, there you go, you get you get it.
Speaker 5 (11:04):
She's blue collar lunch pale guy exactly, first one and
last one out. No, seriously, I mean just and just
a good dude. And whenever I see him, he always
has that that look like it's like a got that
just that look where you're like, wow, he's just always
really intense. But then he'll if you sit and talk
to him, I mean, just super nice and he tells
you whatever and and you know, does great stuff with
(11:24):
our pregame. And I I really I like him and
I like what he does on the field, and I
think it's great. I think getting these guys paid is
is huge and they're doing it the right way.
Speaker 3 (11:32):
Who early is resetting the culture from the oh my gosh,
the bickering through the media cropping of photos and bygone years.
Speaker 4 (11:41):
Yeah, so it's so far, it's been another defense day
out here as uh as we're seeing here and I'm
seeing some of the reports on Twitter, so it's kind
of backing up what we're seeing. We saw that PBu
there from Riley Moss who had great position there on
Marv Mems. Zach Allen actually made a play I guess
before that on r J Harvey sort of a TfL moment.
(12:01):
And then of course the PS two interception. Again, I
don't feel like there's anything to.
Speaker 3 (12:08):
The spark is sacked there.
Speaker 5 (12:10):
Yeah, if they were trying, he'd have been done.
Speaker 2 (12:13):
Pat Bryant, nice catch though to I mean again.
Speaker 5 (12:16):
After sack twelve sacks.
Speaker 2 (12:18):
Yeah, still sad.
Speaker 3 (12:20):
There are four guys that got credit on that.
Speaker 5 (12:23):
And the past was still complete. Training Camp's awesome.
Speaker 4 (12:26):
Yeah, that's just always the fun stats to describe people
are like, oh, well does that a catch.
Speaker 2 (12:33):
No, that's that's in a game.
Speaker 4 (12:34):
Well that was even yesterday during the two minute like
bone Nicks would have been sacked probably three or four times,
but they'd.
Speaker 2 (12:39):
Let it go.
Speaker 4 (12:40):
And I mean that's part, that's part of the deal.
But once again, sort of ebbs and flows. If you're going,
say today, we'll see how the rest of practice ends
up going. But if you go two days where the
defense really is kind of owning the practices dominating out here,
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (12:53):
That is a little bit of a trend.
Speaker 4 (12:54):
I think the Broncos offense would like to see turned
around as soon as next week, but they do have
a reset day tomorrow, Susan.
Speaker 2 (12:59):
I think that's probably a good thing.
Speaker 5 (13:00):
Oh, absolutely it is. And it's you know, it's nice
to have the reps out here. And Rick talked about
that meeting that we were all on this past Monday.
That was really interesting just to see the things that
they're focusing on. I am super curious how they're doing
the digital uh down and distant now. That was really
kind of fascinating to watch, and I think that's gonna
take a while for people to get used to. And
I can't figure out based on that call. Are they
(13:21):
going to have like a big graphic up on the screen,
you know, like in the jumbo tron kind of a
thing or what you know. I know it's gonna go
on TV, I think, but it looks like this very rudimentary.
You know, you got your yellow line and it's going
to show a football and show if it's over the
yellow line or if it's three inches, like it's gonna
be able to tell you inch wise, you know what's
going on. And of course the chain gangs are still there.
(13:42):
They're just going to be back up, So it's gonna
be it's gonna be interesting to see how that kind
of plays out, and it'll take a little while, but
there's gonna be some technical difficulties at the beginning with
that one.
Speaker 3 (13:51):
Yeah, I've been arguing for digital spotting for a while
because if you go back home and they wanten to
you there on their own.
Speaker 5 (13:58):
Did you install the four new cameras and every stadium.
Speaker 3 (14:00):
Well I installed him in the office for the reasons
there's somebody was picking up what I was putting down earlier. No,
but I mean like if you go back and watch
if you ever and and go back and watch a game,
you can see how badly the ball spotting is. Like
the short they're cheating yards forward and back. They're messing
this thing up, you know. And somebody guestimated that there
(14:21):
was something like eighty yards of bad spottage in a
given game.
Speaker 2 (14:25):
Uh spotted, But they need to get there.
Speaker 3 (14:28):
I'm saying.
Speaker 4 (14:29):
That's the next iteration for me, is the digital spotting
of the ball.
Speaker 3 (14:32):
As far as that stuff goes.
Speaker 5 (14:33):
You know, you have a they have like a robot
come out.
Speaker 3 (14:35):
Well, they got somebody observing on a screen and he's
down to the guy actually doing right, put it exactly
half on the whatever, you know, that kind of thing.
Speaker 4 (14:42):
So got about a dozen texts in a row saying
Hank Stram was the one, that.
Speaker 3 (14:46):
Stram was the one it was. That's right with that,
That's right. It wasn't Keith Jaxs was Hank Stram. Good
love our listeners, they know they know you know the answer.
Speaker 2 (14:54):
Well, and they love telling you how wrong you are.
Speaker 5 (14:56):
Yeah, they love to correct.
Speaker 3 (14:57):
You know. It's a sport, is it? First prize? Is
anybody but me.
Speaker 5 (15:04):
Lettering in it? Right now?
Speaker 2 (15:06):
Somebody pointing out that Peyton Manning, Oh what a catch.
Catch that was.
Speaker 3 (15:10):
Jerwan Newton speaking of dark horses.
Speaker 2 (15:12):
Yeah, that's a nice catch catch. Yeah, I've been an
even third team out there.
Speaker 5 (15:17):
That was third team okay.
Speaker 4 (15:18):
Yeah, so Sam Ellinger there was a botch snap between
Sam Ellnger and Clay West about.
Speaker 5 (15:23):
What thirty five?
Speaker 2 (15:24):
Yeah that was nice.
Speaker 4 (15:26):
Yeah, he's he's had some nice moments out here. That's
the thing you see, right, We're gonna see preseason coming
up next Saturday.
Speaker 5 (15:33):
He's on my six.
Speaker 2 (15:34):
Now, nice, well done, there she goes. It's a moment
to moment think.
Speaker 5 (15:41):
Yeah, I'm gonna get my highlighter out.
Speaker 3 (15:43):
Just crossed Sherfield's name off.
Speaker 5 (15:46):
It's no more one, it's sharpie out.
Speaker 2 (15:52):
Yeah. I have about Brendon Jackson. Now is he on
your No, he might be too.
Speaker 5 (15:56):
I'm gonna really start highlighting the heck out of my.
Speaker 4 (15:58):
Rock or Pat Bride Vayley. Golly, they're not even out
of the field, Like.
Speaker 3 (16:02):
What do we gotta do? So we're off wargs list.
Speaker 6 (16:06):
Games.
Speaker 3 (16:07):
People they pay attention to this daily to see where they are.
Susie Wardens look like the my Space top eight. You know,
it's as you get you get shuffled up.
Speaker 5 (16:13):
You know, I still had a MySpace page still exist.
Speaker 4 (16:17):
Just Courland Sutton better get out there pretty quick, or
Susan's gonna scratch a Bob Tom only friends.
Speaker 3 (16:23):
Oh my god, do you.
Speaker 5 (16:25):
Think people still have that my Space totally done?
Speaker 2 (16:28):
I don't.
Speaker 3 (16:29):
I already didn't know Timer turned into a music site
like fifteen years ago or something.
Speaker 5 (16:33):
Maybe I did not hear that what I.
Speaker 4 (16:35):
Was gonna ask you though, we have the preseason game
coming up. Of course you'll be on the broadcast for that,
and uh wide receivers are running backs tend tend to
have some pop moments in those games, and that is
a really fun storyline because out of here a training camp,
you get you get a piece of the information. You
see guys like Newton and Davis walking Davis out here
having having nice training camps. But you do like to
(16:55):
see a translate there to the preseason games as well.
Speaker 5 (16:58):
Oh absolutely, yeah, no, I can't wait to see. And
those are the ones where you know, then I get
that interview afterwards, assuming that we win, and and can
talk to some of those those guys that don't always
get the pub during the regular season, so it's kind
of fun to get them their flowers, so to speak.
And and have them on. So I'm really looking forward
to seeing it, and it'll be I'll be curious to
see how much playing time there is between ones, twos
(17:21):
and threes. You know, Sean did it a little bit
different even last year than I think he did the
first year. I'm trying to remember did Russell didn't even
play at all in the fort in the preseason games
and Shawn's first year, I don't remember he dressed, which
was really weird.
Speaker 3 (17:36):
He always always had.
Speaker 5 (17:38):
I'm like, what if he's up, he's in full path.
But that was that was the weirdness of r W.
Rus Martin March is to his own beat at all times. Yeah,
there there was. That was an interesting couple of years,
that's for sure.
Speaker 3 (17:58):
Just what was this like with him?
Speaker 4 (18:00):
Because I know he liked to walk around and shout
and fire people up?
Speaker 2 (18:04):
What was that? What was that like? Covering side?
Speaker 3 (18:05):
I believe he got guys.
Speaker 5 (18:09):
It was weird, I mean, you know, and good and
I like Russ Russ. I mean, there's nothing not to
like about Russ as a person, but I think he's
just a little bit different and and sometimes you looked
at me like you're surprised, touched and touched. There might
be that, but no, just and I think that I
think guys really, I think guys liked him. And he
(18:30):
came to want to Passter Tan's events one night, which
I was surprised. I was like, wow, Russ is here.
Russ was there, and he was he sat next to
Justin Simmons was there then too, because it was when
Justin was still here. So they sat by each other
at the table and I watched because I love kind
of watching the interactions, especially outside of football, and they
chit chatted the whole night. So I'm like, well, maybe,
like could you couldn't figure out if if guys liked
(18:52):
him or not, or if digging what he was saying,
and but maybe outside of here it was different. But
I just don't know. He's not a dudes. Dude, That's
that's what it comes down to. I think, you know
what I mean, Like there were you just go I
want to hang out with him on a Saturday and
like I think, I'm good. I'll see him at work
on Monday, but I'll laugh at the crist just how
(19:14):
I feel about Ben.
Speaker 3 (19:17):
You know, you could have left me outside that pub
in London.
Speaker 5 (19:19):
I'm just saying I could have, but I saved your
begin so save.
Speaker 3 (19:22):
Him a bit.
Speaker 2 (19:22):
Yeah, well you were somebody thought you were a kicker.
Speaker 3 (19:25):
At some point they thought, well, so the bouncers that
were there wouldn't let me in because I didn't have
the whatever it was there wasn't name was on the list.
I don't know anyway, and on the list, that's what
it was. And then h so so, but then somebody
at the same time Susan was coming down, somebody from
the line to get into this pub because it stretched
out for a couple of blocks. Ever recognized me and
wanted a picture, and so when they soon they took it.
And then the bouncers thought they'd made a mistake, and
(19:46):
then I was a player, and so then they come
over and there wanting pictures. I'm like, you guys, like,
I'm our punter is six two twenty which position you
think I played? But I was like at that point,
I was like, whatever it takes to get in. At
this point, I'm just you know, And I.
Speaker 5 (19:58):
Came down the stairs and Ever, I was like, somewhere
all those boundaries have very disappointing photos of bringing with me, like, oh,
he's with the media.
Speaker 3 (20:05):
Yeah, we met this guy.
Speaker 5 (20:07):
Yeah, yeah, no, but I think that's that's probably the
best way to describe it. It's just he was a
tough one for people to to get in with, and
he had his own bubble. I mean, it really really did.
And we saw that a lot. Rickleed we can talk
to that too, and even the the Sierra bubble, the
Russell Wilson bubble, and the people that surrounded each of
those was fascinating to watch. And the fact that people
(20:29):
let him get away with it, yes, was crazy, and
and that that's what came to an end. But that's Sean.
Speaker 4 (20:35):
That was that desperation for the quarterback and to have Vanuel.
Speaker 5 (20:39):
It was all like Russell Wilson in perfect soldiers' hair,
and you know, it was like he was just crazy
about people in this weird way and and and he
was CoA. Jackett was very nice. But it was just
there was a lot going on that year. That was
a really interesting year.
Speaker 4 (20:55):
I mean in a lot of ways obviously, and even
as you're mentioning sort of behind the scenes and what
ended up happening there, but yeah, i'd say, you know, again,
you sort of have a plan on what you you
think it's going to be, or an expectation of what
you think is going to be in this It's really.
Speaker 5 (21:10):
Out of our minds when we got him, because we
thought it was going to be so different.
Speaker 2 (21:14):
Yeah, and again it was so different.
Speaker 3 (21:16):
I've been hinding myself up for months because we've been
talking about it since October, you know, knowing that that
was a very distinct possibility and that.
Speaker 5 (21:22):
It's just and it was so different than what we expected.
Speaker 3 (21:25):
I think part of that, Yeah, you know.
Speaker 7 (21:26):
Walking into the stadium every week, as you know, it's
like we were walking on a red carpet because there
would be a camera.
Speaker 5 (21:34):
Creweah his own camera.
Speaker 7 (21:36):
About fifty yards down shooting him probably in slow motion,
you know, striding in there. We were usually walking with
him and you feel like paparazzi everywhere. Yeah, with Russell Wilson,
it was it was quite different. Kind of same thing
with Dave Logan last year when we were making that
that documentary. They had a crew that followed us around
the entire year of road games too, and just filming
(22:01):
us walking in and out of the stadium and into the.
Speaker 5 (22:04):
Literally felt like tar swift walking into every you know,
the chief stadium everybody's taking pictures and stuff. It was cooled.
Should we tell our Sierra story? I don't know if
we can't, we can't go into well, no, we can
both tell it together. So where were we were? We
in Baltimore.
Speaker 3 (22:20):
In Baltimore.
Speaker 5 (22:21):
Okay, we're in Baltimore. Dave is playing in the Cherry
Creek's playing in a championship game that night, so Dave's
not with us, so it's just Rick and I and
a J. And we go to this cool little Italian
restaurant that Aj' is like our mother hen on the
road and he finds us all the good restaurants. So
he does his research and finds us the good places
to go eat. So got us a reservation. They take
us and we're at this table and it's it's Rick
(22:41):
and a J and I And then we have AJ's
phone set up and we're watching Dave's game right while
we're eating, so we're keeping up on the Creek game
and in this room. And this restaurant was cool because
I had like a bunch of different levels. So we're
in there and there's probably maybe seven other tables and
they're including this huge table and at this huge table
in walks Sierra along with a dozen people, maybe a
(23:03):
little bit less, but full entourage. So we've got kids,
we've got bodyguards, we've got the photographer and we were
just like oh wow and sat down. She said hi.
Very nice because she recognized and said hi to us,
which was nice, and they sat down. She and the
photographer who was also Russell's photographer, who I saw all
the time. He was always around, had a complete full
(23:23):
access at all times, was on the field, he was
out there every game. They're going through pictures on the
laptop and I was like, oh my god, like that
doesn't stop. The machine is going all the time.
Speaker 7 (23:34):
And then yeah, some jokes about I grabbed aj Ellen Jackson,
our producer. I said, this would be a great time
to air drop a picture, a picture.
Speaker 3 (23:47):
Of God, an inappropriate picture. Yes you know what I'm
talking about.
Speaker 5 (23:51):
A turn like he was this this pink on my
purse hair about that red.
Speaker 7 (23:56):
And was just like we busted up last week, almost
fell for sure. Where they were looking at us like
I wonder, what's so funny.
Speaker 5 (24:03):
Over here, like oh my god, rope and just like
you know, air drop some stuff on over there. Yes,
but it was a fascinating watch. And then you know,
we're watching Dave's game, and we're watching that and just
to see that's a whole different world. Sure, it is
an entirely that I'm just like that. I don't even
know how you live in that world where you're you're
(24:25):
definitely in a bubble and you just always have the
people around you and that's just where you are and
and nothing else really exists.
Speaker 4 (24:32):
Sometimes I'm trying my best not to because Giants fans
as they're they're tweeting out clips of practice and excited
about Russell Wilson, and I'm like, hey, you know, we
all felt that way.
Speaker 5 (24:43):
We all just wait.
Speaker 4 (24:44):
There there was one fan that was saying like, oh,
he wanted to be here. He didn't really want to
be in Denver or in Pittsburgh. He wanted to be
he wants to be in New York. And I'm just say, okay,
all right.
Speaker 5 (24:54):
Keep telling yourself that.
Speaker 3 (24:55):
Just gotta believe. It's got to believe.
Speaker 4 (24:58):
Again, we're down forty in the four quarter, but just
gotta believe, ash Wolves, gotta believe.
Speaker 5 (25:02):
I just I'll never forget that Seattle game, that first
game that we had, and uh, and I was standing
there when he was doing his thing with Dave, and
at the very end after they had lost, and he's like,
and Dave's like, all right, you know, thanks for respreciatd
he goes you bet, let's ride. I was like, oh,
she did not just say.
Speaker 3 (25:19):
Dave's reaction.
Speaker 5 (25:20):
Oh, Dave was like the quiet Dave is always You're
always like, oh he heard it. Okay, yeah, just like actually,
just say that.
Speaker 4 (25:29):
On the text line, and then thank you. Joe Wilson
played in the preseason under Payton. He did not play
with Hackett. So Hackett okay, right. So Hackett said he
didn't need to play the preseason, but Sean did.
Speaker 3 (25:40):
I couldn't get all the time. That was he did
dress in full pass. When they got to the season,
nobody knew how to play.
Speaker 2 (25:46):
We got another half hour to go.
Speaker 4 (25:47):
Five six, six, nine zero is our kaway Connas Breed
Health text line. If you want to interact with us,
Susan Wargon on absolutely, Yeah, Susie.
Speaker 3 (25:54):
You want to run her out while we're out here, come.
Speaker 4 (25:56):
On out, yeah, Susie. Origin Rick Lewis, Vinjamin aal Bright,
Ryan Everers. We'll be right back, okay, Away Broncos Country.
Speaker 1 (26:03):
Broncos Football is back. This is Broncos Country.
Speaker 5 (26:12):
Tonight Training Camp Edition Live.
Speaker 1 (26:14):
From Broncos Park powered by Common Spirit KOA.
Speaker 3 (26:17):
At Training Camp is powered by.
Speaker 1 (26:19):
Chevron Colorado on the official home of the Broncos KOA.
Speaker 4 (26:26):
I bought a segment here's We're live for Broncos Park
powered by Common Spirit. Benjamin Olbright, Ryan Edwards and of
course our coverage is powered by Chevron, committed to our
local communities and safely delivering affordable, reliable energy that powers Colorado.
For doing a little red zone here as a bonus
handing it off there thing that's to argent, but yeah,
(26:48):
doing a little red zone first team going first team
offense versus first team defense. It's been a kind of
a tough practice so far for the offense. I say, overall,
it's not like they haven't had a couple of opportunities.
Speaker 2 (27:01):
For some wins.
Speaker 4 (27:02):
But overall, Ben, you know, the assessment kind of has
to be like, hey, boneis through another interception today, this
one to Patch or Tan. There was you know, a
nice pass breakup by Riley Mostering one of the team periods.
Is that like it's been all bad, but certainly another
tilt towards the defense.
Speaker 3 (27:20):
Well, yeah, the defense is still to strengthen this team.
They're still out playing the offense. I don't think you
hit the worry or the panic button or any of
that kind of stuff. But it's important to be you know,
honest and recognize as the offense picks up a pre
snat penalty there, it's important to recognize, you know, the
truth the object of truth here and that is the
defense is ahead of the offense at this point.
Speaker 2 (27:39):
A couple of texts here if you want to continue
to us send us any questions comments on the Kaikom
Spirit Health text line five six six nine zero and
Benjamin aal Bright Ryan Edwards kids today would never survive
the MySpace top five. That's good.
Speaker 4 (27:51):
Should we be concerned about the offense's performance or is
this more of a case that we should be pumped
for how good the defense will be?
Speaker 3 (27:58):
I mean a little bit of both. I think they
the defense is is quite good. H This was the
thing last year when I was I was trying to say, look,
this defense is really good. Uh, they got better. This
is this is gonna be a top three defense in
the league if they're healthy and you know, so this
offense is getting it's getting their lunch. Eate that they're
right there, Zach Allen. It should have been a sack.
Speaker 4 (28:17):
Bo scrambles for an air quotes touchdown, but he was
very clearly sacked. You know, I'm not worried about the
offense per se. I think there's a lot of hype
on this offense taking that next step this year, and
I maybe I would suggest that maybe we pump the
brakes just a little bit on that little but a
wet blanket on it. You know, you don't you don't
want to drown the fire, but maybe put a what
(28:39):
a damp blanket on there might might help it smolder
a little bit.
Speaker 3 (28:43):
No, I mean, I think the offense gonna be fine.
I just I think we're we've we've over hyped, We've
the pendulum swung too far into the over hype with
all the you know, all the national media outlets are
talking about the Broncos and Super Bowl contenders, and I'm like, well,
you know, this offense still got some stuff to work out.
It's got some players that got to grow up, and
uh that's that something is Oh, missus on the run,
Missus Trumpman.
Speaker 2 (29:02):
Uh By the side of Rand in the space there
Ye ran out of.
Speaker 3 (29:05):
He was getting getting pressured pretty heavy. You know, we're
seeing a lot of the first group of receivers is
is Mim Sutton Vley. I mean, that's that's the three
as far as wide receivers, and you are definitely seeing
a lot of that. So true Sherfield out there by
the way you are, he's making you know, you're You're right.
As as far as him being on the six, he's
he's making it. And that's not just virtue of the money.
He's come out here and played well in the in
(29:26):
the the stuff that I've seen, so I you know,
I I'm just noting personnel groups that are happening right
now because Shawn's been pretty consistent with that in his
time here in Denver, like the different personnel groups that
he uses, and Vailey is very clearly uh you know,
wide receiver three, even if he's not target three in
the offense.
Speaker 2 (29:46):
Ben's favorite word is definitely irregardless.
Speaker 3 (29:48):
Oh god, it's not a real word, even though Mariam
Webster tried to say it was the other day.
Speaker 4 (29:52):
Somebody says Ryan and Ben are wearing American Eagle jeans,
that's uh not a thing.
Speaker 3 (29:57):
Well wow wow, oh I get that reference.
Speaker 4 (30:00):
Yeah wow, we all get that reference as we're referencing
all the the white receiver trops.
Speaker 3 (30:04):
Oh my god, wow, well done. Whoever set that in?
Well done?
Speaker 4 (30:09):
Uh Ben, did you see the outstanding the matriculation one?
I already read that one's good. Can bring it back
though it's good. Everyone knows Ryan hates Mayley and loved
Nathaniel Hacketts, so take what he says is the grain
of salt.
Speaker 2 (30:20):
I actually love Maley. I do know the reference there
is is.
Speaker 4 (30:23):
That I that I didn't I like Bleys wide receiver
one in year two?
Speaker 2 (30:28):
Oh what to catch my sonton?
Speaker 5 (30:30):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (30:30):
I received the dB there jumped out a little early
and Sutton just was that PJ that now for littlewise
of six? Yeah and uh and Sutton just stretched out
for it there and they near the back corner of
the end zone.
Speaker 2 (30:42):
That was beautiful. And what a placement by bow.
Speaker 3 (30:44):
The ball I say, the ball was laid in well,
you know the dB taking that taking a jump early
was really what made that happen. But sudden something extended
himself out and got it.
Speaker 4 (30:53):
So that was that was like a five yard maybe
six it was just inside the ten.
Speaker 3 (31:00):
Looks like it was seven yards. Yeah, and it was
to the you know, to the corner there. Yeah, that was.
That was nice smash concept. You have the hitch and
then yes, sail over. So yeah, no, that was that
was a nice play there.
Speaker 4 (31:10):
And again great placement by bo Nicks uh sort of
threatening that over the dB to uh to Cortland Sutton.
Speaker 2 (31:17):
So there you go. There's a nice little moment for
the offense. I mean, people are.
Speaker 3 (31:20):
Well, I mean they're not devoid of play, they're not
making any plays, but it's definitely the defenses is definitely
get the better of the offense on the on the
extended time.
Speaker 4 (31:29):
Yeah, somebody was asking me a little bit about that
the other day. Again, over the course of time, you know,
I've been covering a lot of camps and and I'd
say that it's not like we're watching the Peyton Manning
years right now, but it's certainly a far cry from
what we saw in some of the Trevor Simeon Paxton Lynch. Gosh,
(31:52):
let me see Joe Flacca, like the Teddy Bridgewater. You're like, like,
we're not seeing that level of an apptitude of offense.
Would you agree with that?
Speaker 3 (32:00):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I means.
Speaker 2 (32:02):
You're putting what blanket on it? You're not You're not
that far on.
Speaker 3 (32:04):
No. I mean it's certainly smoother than that. It doesn't
look as disjointed or look as ugly as that looked. Again,
I like, I can't. I'm not trying to put too
fine a point of the defense is absolutely beating the offense.
That's said, the offense is making some plays. It's not
like they're there's not an ineptitude here. Uh, it's just
your I it's a tough defense and that you know,
(32:26):
I think that should help soothe Broncos fans. I think
they're gonna blow out the Titans in Week one, although
you know, everybody, I've talked it down in Tennessee's cam
Ward looks nice and camp so far well.
Speaker 4 (32:35):
But to your point, I remember in some of those
camps that you sort of had to squint to see
the plan on offense.
Speaker 2 (32:45):
You sort of had to be like, Okay, well what.
Speaker 3 (32:46):
Can this guy do? Not what can't this guy?
Speaker 4 (32:48):
Like you needed the breaks, Like I remember us talking about, hey,
if the offense can figure this part out, or they
can figure out what they're good at because like we
come out of camp and I'm like, I don't know
what they really do.
Speaker 2 (32:57):
That's that's good.
Speaker 4 (32:58):
I know some of the things that this offense can do,
Like I know what they're capable of when when they're
doing what they want to do. They just happened to
go against a really good defense every single day. But
I remember during those training camps we'd oftentimes talk about
how good the defense was and now far behind the
offense is. So I can understand for Broncos fans that
haven't had a chance to come out here. It's like,
this feels like what we've been saying for the last
decade about this team, and that worries people. Right, there's
(33:20):
like some PTSD there about, you know, a decade worth
of really bad offensive play and a really good defensive
play that we sort of expected to carry this team.
Speaker 2 (33:30):
But I don't think it's going to be that extreme.
Speaker 3 (33:31):
Yeah, And I don't think the answers are really going
to manifest themselves until about week three because they're gonna
play two pretty basic defenses the first two weeks of
the season. You have the tightens you get the Colts,
You're really not going to have a pulse on what
this offense is until they go up against the Chargers
in Philly. You know, a week three and five Cincinnati's
you know, they might even feel the defense this year.
(33:53):
We'll see, but you know, weeks three through through five,
that Cincinnati game that was standing anything.
Speaker 2 (33:59):
Oh what was that Yolo?
Speaker 3 (34:00):
It should have been picked it.
Speaker 2 (34:02):
It's a terrible throw, look like a fade away.
Speaker 3 (34:04):
Jumper that he threw his fur He looked like he
was throwing up a fade away jumper pass.
Speaker 4 (34:09):
Did him by the way, Yeah, the spark, the all
spark Yeah, not now bow Nicks. We got to make
sure we say that because people think, like, wait, is
Bonnicks throwing Yolo balls out?
Speaker 3 (34:17):
Sorry? That was uh that was stitty And it looked
like he was shooting a fade away jumper to the corner.
He's like, Cabe, I mean kind of it looks it's
what it looked like.
Speaker 4 (34:24):
It didn't even look like a football pass. Yeah, it
should have been intercepted. That was a I don't even
know what that was. You want that guy to start
last year?
Speaker 2 (34:31):
Remember that.
Speaker 3 (34:31):
I didn't want him to start. I just you know,
I was like, well, Bo's not ready yet. But they
just threw him out there and he figured out in three.
Speaker 4 (34:36):
Or four weeks.
Speaker 2 (34:40):
Your version of reality is always my favorite thing, correct version.
Speaker 4 (34:44):
No, I mean it's your version, your version of I
don't know what you guys in the matrix were doing,
but yeah, there's odric estimate a couple of yards out.
Speaker 2 (34:53):
But then he should be able to do that. I mean,
you're like three yards of the goal line, but you should.
Speaker 3 (34:56):
But last year they struggled to do that. So that's
that's sort of the thing this year. I mean, that's
why there's a reason they Atkins was catching four yard
touchdown passes all year.
Speaker 4 (35:02):
You ain't lyon well, And you asked me the question
yesterday when you're filling in for Ross, if some of
the numbers might dip a little bit for boon Nicks
because the emphasis might be on the running game. I
still think that that from a complimentary standpoint, you can
still have very good numbers. We see this in the
league where these elite quarterbacks I'm not saying both there yet,
we see them have good numbers even with a good
running game.
Speaker 2 (35:22):
So it's all there. There's plenty a room for growth
on this offense.
Speaker 3 (35:25):
But and Sean was padding the total last year too.
There were times he was strolling when he absolutely should not.
I mean he was running it up against the hapless
Kansas City backups in Week eighteen or whatever.
Speaker 4 (35:35):
Well that game aside, and actually I don't completely disagree
with you, but that could also be read as I don't.
Speaker 2 (35:41):
Believe in my running game?
Speaker 3 (35:43):
What in that game? No, I'm saying that. Yeah overall, right, yeah, overall,
And there probably is some element of that. But there
were there were times where it felt like, what is
he doing throwing the ball here when you know what
a run will do?
Speaker 2 (35:55):
Wet blanket.
Speaker 4 (35:55):
Albright added again, as profit would say, hater, well you
get so last year there is tempering expectations, and then
there's you saying I thought the offense was.
Speaker 2 (36:08):
Not very good.
Speaker 4 (36:09):
And again, you know, it's tough to say, right because
you went against two in my opinion of the best
defense is in the league. Right off the bat, you
got Seattle at Seattle, and then you got home against
Pittsburgh and man, you're a rookie. Well, it's like Cam
Wore coming here to Denver, like, oh my gosh, like
what you can't really get excited about Cam Wart's first
(36:31):
game of the season going against this defense, right, just
like I wasn't excited. I mean, I was excited to
watch it, but I certainly didn't have high expectations of
bon Nicks in those first two games versus those two defenses,
and even the Jets defense in Week three.
Speaker 2 (36:43):
And I know that was also in the rain and whatever,
But I'm just.
Speaker 4 (36:46):
Saying, like, you're talking about a merg's row of some
of the best defenses that you're gonna see all season
for a rookie quarterback making his first start, right.
Speaker 3 (36:53):
And that's you know, and that's that's the thing. I
talked to some people down here in Tennessee, though, they
say Cam's a real deal, and you know, it may
not happen for him in the Denver game, but it will,
you know, you'll you'll kind of see it. So I'm
kind of excited for that. I still think the broker
was going to blow them out. I still think it's
gonna be a double digit win for Denver. But matter
of fact, I went and late. I moved the line
to like nine and a half to get myself a better,
better thing sambling with Ben.
Speaker 4 (37:14):
By the way, a reminder we do have an NFL
betting show that we're going to be bringing back get.
Speaker 3 (37:17):
Those kind of tips and you know, all that kind
of stuff.
Speaker 4 (37:20):
So we'll start that up when the regular season starts,
along with our fantasy show.
Speaker 2 (37:23):
Looking forward to doing that again with you this year.
Speaker 4 (37:25):
Yeah, this is a this is a good question here
on the Kawa Kuna Spirit Health text line five six
six nine. Here, you guys have been phenomenal all morning long.
We've really enjoyed interacting with you here on Saturday. Hey,
everybody enjoying your cast. This a m question lower football
knowledge here.
Speaker 2 (37:39):
How do they real gain.
Speaker 4 (37:41):
Pressure prep the starting quarterbacks now in this case nicks
without potentially injuring them? And who'd want to be the
defender who accidentally took out the quarterback?
Speaker 3 (37:50):
Well, you'd be gone if you did that. But it's
basically two hand touched, like you're still trying to pressure them,
but it's two hand touch on the quarterback like on.
Speaker 2 (37:58):
That Zach Allen pressure like he touched his shoulder pack.
Speaker 3 (38:01):
Yeah, yeah, you don't try to tackle the quarterback.
Speaker 4 (38:02):
But he didn't full swing in there like we've seen
Zach Allen do, right right, right, It's it's more of
a two D touching.
Speaker 3 (38:07):
So it's a little bit less than what you would
get if you were all at doing it.
Speaker 7 (38:11):
But they tried.
Speaker 3 (38:13):
They tried to create scenarios in which they'll be under
pressure so they get a chance to got a feel
and naturally get that timing and feel that to be
able to rush and get that speed down.
Speaker 2 (38:21):
And to the text and the question.
Speaker 4 (38:24):
So obviously you can't sack the quarterback or tackle the quarterback.
You can't really even touch that horrible snaped by Clay
Web Yeah.
Speaker 2 (38:32):
Clay Clay Webb.
Speaker 4 (38:33):
Somebody was trying to make the argument the other day
that Clay Web should push for for push the center position,
like not not if you've been out here, he's not,
he's not.
Speaker 3 (38:40):
That ball sailed four feet over Sam.
Speaker 2 (38:42):
Well, that's the second one today.
Speaker 3 (38:43):
Look like a Ninja star going flying back there.
Speaker 2 (38:45):
Did the same thing earlier in the middle of the field.
Speaker 3 (38:47):
Gate Red Bottles a nice see.
Speaker 2 (38:49):
What you did there.
Speaker 4 (38:50):
So when you get the pressure now, oftentimes they'll let
the play keep going.
Speaker 2 (38:56):
But you'll hear everybody out here and an outsack.
Speaker 3 (38:58):
Yeah, yeah, they'll not. Yeah, crowd will tell you that
it's sack.
Speaker 4 (39:01):
Yeah, it's a sack, and I think anybody with eyes
can say, okay, well that that looks like a sack.
The interesting thing that I think is we don't get
a chance to really see until the game's actually play
is the escapability, because Bonix did a pretty good job
of that last year, where you'd say, hey, this is
a sure fire sack and you see like two or
three guys converging on him and he somehow found a
way out of it. That's what you won't be able
(39:22):
to get out here on the practice field because that
will either be announced as sack or they'll let the
play go and then it's just sort of whatever you say. Well, hey,
like we said earlier, nice pass to Pat Bryant along
the right side by Stidham, but that would have been
a sack.
Speaker 2 (39:36):
We think that would have been a sack.
Speaker 4 (39:37):
But you don't get a chance for benefit of the
doubt of the quarterback in a game situation, you just
sort of let the play go.
Speaker 3 (39:42):
It was a good stop one on one there by
thirty two, shutting Blake Watson down the open field one
on one.
Speaker 4 (39:48):
Thirty two to learn Turner Yelle, who hasn't had a
chance to make a lot of big team.
Speaker 3 (39:51):
Here absolutely made an open field play there. Yeah, that's uh.
Speaker 4 (39:55):
He he is a guy that probably needs it needs
the preseason to make any kind of point about being
on this roster. And we haven't talked about Dlaren Turner
Yell a lot, partly for the fact that he's on
third team and you know, he's where somebody asked me
the other day like who is sort of not showing
up when they needed to, And I was like, well
(40:17):
until yesterday tomorrow matthis who did get an interception yesterday
to in practice. That was a nice moment for him,
But he hasn't had a lot of kind of flash
moments that he might need. He'll he'll play a lot
in the preseason and then de Laren Turner Yell's another
one of those guys that hasn't had an opportunity to
do a lot because he's been kind of buried. So
we got the first team going back out there. By
the way, Joanna Allis had I did have a sack
today earlier, so he's had a nice training camp as well.
(40:41):
This one from Bryan saying you and Benter phenomenal, Thank
you as very kind of you. We appreciate us rolling
with us here on a Saturday mornings. Last Saturday, we
get to do this actually because next Saturday our broadcast
is going to be fired up for the first preseason game.
Speaker 2 (40:55):
Against the forty nine ers.
Speaker 4 (40:56):
But again, final mates, we got ten minutes here if
you want to send any more text here on the
KWA Commas Spirit Health text line again five six six
nine zero.
Speaker 3 (41:03):
And it's again Vale Mems. Sutton is the wide receiver trio.
Speaker 2 (41:06):
Yeah, and that's that's the thing, Like.
Speaker 4 (41:08):
The targets will probably go Sutton Ingram and then there
will be some games or maybe it is a Vle
game or maybe it's a Marvin Mims kind of game.
I know for a fantasy football people at this probably
not what you want to hear, but yeah, that that's
just kind of and then the you know, the running backs,
and I think you detailed that in the offseason, honestly,
you said it would be Sutton Ingram and then the
running backs is be your three.
Speaker 3 (41:30):
If you look at Sean Payton target distribution over the years,
I mean the X receiver that the person listed as
the tight end, and the running back those are the
top three targets, and then the Z receiver and the
you know, the little Jordan Humphrey role will get a
smattering behind that.
Speaker 4 (41:43):
So yeah, and and that's again, you know, that's kind
of what Sean wants to do. And then knowing how
he has tried to mold what he wants to do
with the roster he inherited, and now we're into year three,
this is a lot more of his guys, This is
a lot more of what he wants it to be.
He drafted a running back in the second round.
Speaker 2 (42:02):
He brought in JK. Dobbins. He they brought in Evan Ingram.
Speaker 4 (42:07):
I mean, these are things that that are moves that
are are telling you of what he's he's sort of
projecting right of what he wants to be able to do, right,
all right.
Speaker 3 (42:16):
Bunnicks, but he got in the end, Yeah, touchdown vle Well.
Speaker 4 (42:20):
But this is the one thing, and you made a
point about Wattenberg earlier. He's getting a lot of pressure
in his lap up the middle. And that is not
a Quinn Miners conversation. I'm just gonna let you although
the zach Allen uh one of the zach Allen pressures
or sacks earlier was I think he did get Quinn
on that but typically speaking, I'd say over the course
of camp that I've been out here every day. Man,
(42:40):
that pressure gets in his lap in a hurry, so
he does have to do a little bit of that
fade away fro sometimes.
Speaker 3 (42:45):
Yeah, it looked like it was supposed to be like
some kind of quarter boot, and it just they wound
up being a weird backpedal and lob it up for
Vala who was open. But it worked. I mean it
was easy, easy pitching catch and then they just rotated
that group off. I didn't see who all came on there.
Speaker 2 (42:58):
You know, Well you got r J in at the back,
and then you got Pat.
Speaker 3 (43:02):
Pat Bryan in as the next group. I think Franklin's
over there. Yeah, there's Franklin Trent.
Speaker 4 (43:08):
Yeah, so a short short pass there that ended up
going to a Troy. You know. One thing that I
do like what they're doing with Troy a little bit
more out here at camp is they're getting they're finding
ways to get him in rhythm early. It's not just hey,
you know, go run run nine routes and we'll try
to hit you. You know that. I mean, listen, if it works,
(43:30):
it works. But it wasn't working, and he might be
a guy that you just kind of have to get
kind of in the rhythm of the game, get him
on some shallow crosses, I'd say, you know, especially because
they did that with Marvin right, they did find sort
of creative ways to get him in the ball and let.
Speaker 2 (43:44):
Him use his speed to run away from guys. And
I'd like to see the same thing with Troy.
Speaker 3 (43:48):
Yeah, we'll see. I mean, I think he just needs
to get the confidence built and being a receiver first
before you get creative with him. I'd like to see them,
you know, draw up some stuff that they just bring
him across the field, you know, with his numbers back
toward the quarterback this year, and let him do what
he did in Oregon. You know that that was that
was what he did.
Speaker 4 (44:06):
Another couple of questions here before we get out of
here and have things off to the Rockies as they
go for the series win or the Pirates after that
win last night.
Speaker 3 (44:14):
That you projecting them to beat Paul Skins today?
Speaker 4 (44:17):
Yeah, I think tomorrow would be a good shot at
but hey, listen, man, Paul skeans if he doesn't get
run support as a Tupper and I both know very
well because we're both Paul Skins fans. You know, you
never know, and it is course course is a weird
reminds you of who is it for the Royals? Was
it Grinky?
Speaker 3 (44:33):
A few years back at zach Crek like the cy
Young season, ibod he only had like twelve wins because
he could get an buy a run.
Speaker 4 (44:39):
Yep, yeah, that's that's exactly what So Skens is magic
and and certainly if you're going to be out at
the Rockies game today, that's gonna be fun to watch.
But uh, there's there's no denying the fact that he
has had a really tough time that offense. You know,
they exploded yesterday, but that is not typical of the
Pittsburgh Pirates. But anyways, typically either team ben or are
you still yogging?
Speaker 3 (45:00):
Yeah? Soft jay?
Speaker 2 (45:02):
They even said soft Jay.
Speaker 3 (45:03):
Yeah. I had I had to take a little bit
off while I got sick. I had to had to stop,
but I gotta I got back out there yesterday.
Speaker 4 (45:07):
Wine Yogi by wine Yogi, tuning in from the beach,
enjoying the waves, dreaming of flannel and PSL nice listening
to wet blanket all bright means fall is just around
the corner. Do y'all need uh, Do y'all think they
will get the Benito contract done this year?
Speaker 3 (45:24):
Yeah? I don't think it's imminent. I think that, Like
I said, I think that his camp's waiting out Trey
Hendrickson and Micah Parsons to kind of raise that top
five average, which helps Benito's number. So I don't I
don't think there's a sense of urgency on Benito's part
to get that done, and the Broncos either, because they've
got the franchise tag in their hip pocket and if
you look at the players that are coming available, they
(45:45):
won't need to use it on anybody but Benito, probably
at the end of the season. So I don't think
there's like a sense of urgency. I do believe that
it'll get done. I don't believe there's a sense of urgency.
I think that's perfectly said.
Speaker 4 (45:55):
And by the way, a tradition, unlike any other wet blanket,
all bright as we're going into the season trying to
tamper down expectations for a Broncos fan base that has
been dying for a team to be this good and
for this long.
Speaker 3 (46:06):
It's a ten to seven in a playoff spot, and
that's what I'm hating now. Yeah, but that's not I
told last year. I told you to hammer the over
on the wind. Total that's what blanket stuff you guys.
You guys, uh, you guys are fun with this bit,
but you also got a deal in reality.
Speaker 4 (46:22):
I love I love how you played both sides. There's
another guy in town that does that too, I can't remember.
Speaker 3 (46:26):
Yeah, he's the diet version.
Speaker 2 (46:31):
That's some of your best work. That's good.
Speaker 4 (46:33):
But you know, play both sides, Ben, you know, like
tamper down expectations, but then all then then then blow
out expectations of I think they could be a twelve
win team. I told you guys, they could be a
twelve win team, and they can win the division, which
is also a thing you've said.
Speaker 3 (46:46):
It's entirely possible.
Speaker 2 (46:47):
So if you really say everything is.
Speaker 3 (46:49):
Within the realm of possibility, you've cover all bases, then
can you ever be wrong?
Speaker 2 (46:55):
Can you? I'm asking for a friend.
Speaker 3 (46:59):
It's almost like another for years.
Speaker 4 (47:01):
August twenty sixth rye And if you know, you know,
oh I know, Oh, I definitely know.
Speaker 3 (47:06):
Do you know what? August twenty sixth I am anti
big pumpkin.
Speaker 2 (47:09):
You gotta know what August twenty sixth is.
Speaker 4 (47:10):
I'll bring you It's the only reason I know that
is because you're hooked on make milkshakes. I'll bring you
a Pumpkins mass rating is pumpkin spice lattes.
Speaker 2 (47:18):
Yeah, I brought you one one time.
Speaker 3 (47:19):
You like this? More sugar in that thing than there
isn't a full leader of Mountain dew which aget you,
which I had been known to partake see official drink
of the Redneck South Mountain Dew.
Speaker 2 (47:31):
Well with your keeso and chicken nuggets.
Speaker 3 (47:33):
Yeah, chicken tenders centers, Rightyeah, tendies, not the nuggets.
Speaker 2 (47:36):
Not the nuggets. Wo'ld be weird because you're an adult,
because you're a grown.
Speaker 3 (47:41):
Man, dude. Yeah, bradch Teider was getting that. It was
last year we did the origible every restaurant I went
to order the same thing. Ordered chicken tenders everywhere. Yeah,
and I'm at TENDESPANYI is there anything else you eat? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (47:51):
When we used to do the buff Buffalo wowings thing,
that was your caeso. Yeah, yeah, I do like, oh
do like a good qesom just saying they bring ad
qeso and stuff, good stuff that good stuff.
Speaker 3 (48:00):
We'll be at the Burndown all the away games this year,
one place I don't have to bounce around, just one
place this year.
Speaker 5 (48:05):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (48:05):
Where's that at.
Speaker 4 (48:06):
It's over in Broadway, okay, and those are the away games,
right away games.
Speaker 3 (48:10):
Yeah, so myself, Nick Ferguson, would be a lot of fun.
Speaker 2 (48:12):
Did that start this week?
Speaker 3 (48:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (48:13):
It starts with the you're gonna do the pregame stuff.
Speaker 3 (48:17):
Yeah, and then jet jet down there, jet down there. Oh,
by jet down there, I mean take the light rail.
But you know whatever, does your car still work? I
haven't driven I drift today. I've been coming here. I
don't drive anywhere anymore.
Speaker 4 (48:30):
A couple more here on the text Lime before we
get out of here. Good show today, Fellas. Was awesome
to hear you guys together again. Hopefully we can link
up and have a beer in October when I'm in
town for me and greet yep, hit us up Lance
and then you know, by the way little programming note
Kiwi Sports. Over the course of the week you're gone,
I think basically every day. I mean, me and Dave
are gonna do a couple days in there, but you're
gonna be on a lot this week.
Speaker 3 (48:51):
When you've got this kind of talent that want to
feature you.
Speaker 2 (48:53):
Yeah, definitely not in the mornings though.
Speaker 3 (48:55):
We'll get there, will we We'll get there. Just showcasing
it is that what.
Speaker 2 (49:00):
You're doing, showcase. I'm showcasing by talents when I actually show.
Speaker 3 (49:04):
Up for work. You know, the bare minimum Yeah, for
thirty pieces of flair is the bare minimum, Ryan, So
if you want to do the bare minimum.
Speaker 2 (49:12):
I'm showcasing my work. I've actually come to work three
days in a row this week.
Speaker 3 (49:15):
Now showcasing your talent, showcasing the ability.
Speaker 2 (49:20):
I've been I've been at work three days in a row.
I'm showcasing.
Speaker 3 (49:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (49:23):
Can you imagine like going to your job.
Speaker 3 (49:25):
It's a cat of stability a program director looks for
three consecutive days in the row in a row. Yeah,
consecutive means.
Speaker 4 (49:35):
Why would the Broncos not want to get the deal
done before Henderson Parsons Parsons.
Speaker 3 (49:38):
They do, they do. It's it takes two to tango. Yeah,
the Broncos don't want to get it done. It's a
Parsons there are basically told them that, hey, look we're
we're waiting on these we know what the market is
and we can figure it out from there. And it's
it's just smart on their part. The Broncos can make
all kinds offers, but why would you take it if
you're an ego?
Speaker 2 (49:52):
I want to give a shout out really quick here.
Speaker 4 (49:55):
Obviously Rick Lewis Suzy Warsham for swinging by, not Nick
Ferguson who ditched on us, but that's okay. Dave Pepper
running things out here doing a wonderful job obviously is
our program director here but also engineer on a Saturday,
so we appreciate you, Dave Tepper. Shannon Scott back at
the studio doing a wonderful job on the board as well.
He's been out here usually as our engineer, usually most
remotes doing that, but we appreciate him on a Saturday
(50:17):
morning hanging out with us, Anthony Rod doing our social
media stuff. He's gonna have some stuff posted up here
in just a little bit as well. Ben, this was fun, man,
It's always fun. YEP, very much enjoyed it all right,
products about to wrap up. We'll have some more notes
at KAWI, Colorado on all of that.
Speaker 2 (50:31):
But the maintime, let's go Rockies.
Speaker 4 (50:34):
Get that series win today against the Pittsburgh Pirates that's
coming up next.
Speaker 2 (50:37):
Have a great Saturday and weekend everybody. We'll talk to
you on Monday at three and five
