Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey, guys, welcome into its rockcos Country Tonight short show

(00:03):
post Rockies edition, And how about them Rockies man? Last
night they get to walk off a they're actually they
actually have a better record since the All Star Break
than the La Dodgers the Colorado Rockies do. So for
all the uh, the the issues that I've had with
the Rockies, all the smack talk that I've talked about
the Rockies, I just thought i'd, you know, point that out,

(00:25):
so you know, I make sure I'm fair on both
sides of that that I'm I'm letting everybody know that
obviously that excuse me that we're playing well. When we're
playing well, and so I feel like it's that's something
that some people conveniently ignore, you know, and bash on
something and they ignore it, and I'm just not that guy.

(00:48):
Like if I if I am tough on somebody, I
make sure that I'm fair when they're they're doing well. So, uh, tomorrow,
I'll be filling in for us tomorrow morning, nine am
to noon. If you guys want to see a little
bit of a different side of me. We'll not be

(01:08):
doing sports on that show. We'll be doing modern sort
of news and political talk things like that. One of
the stories we'll get to tomorrow is this, uh, this
plant virus that is showing promising results in killing cancer
and humans. Humans can't catch the virus, but you do
have to put it in yourself, and so I'm kind
of sort of curious about what people think about that,

(01:32):
if they're willing to turn themselves into groot or not.
You know, not not really, but you get the idea.
So we'll have some fun discussing that amongst other things tomorrow,
some economic stuff. I want to get into all that
kind of stuff. So looking forward to that and looking
forward to hopefully you guys joined me there. I'll be
on KI Sports tomorrow, uh as well as CAREWA Sports

(01:58):
and BCT on Thursday. I believe it's it's one of
those weird we you know, the preseason gets they kind
of put me on everything or whatever. So that's one
of those things that we'll have it all over the
map schedule this week, so hopefully you guys will we'll
enjoy some of that. A lot of stuff going on

(02:21):
around the league today. The forty nine ers As signed
quarterback Nate Sudfeld to a one year deal in place
running by Patrick Taylor on season ending I R. Taylor
dislocated his shoulder in last week's preseason games. Student this

(02:42):
multiple weeks, but that's not the big story here. Matt
Miaco of NBC Sports Bay Areas reporting the quarterback Mac Jones,
who is the backup for Rock Party, was not in
practice today after a after injuring his knee in Saturday's
preseason game. Sunfeld was with the team of the practice
guid in twenty one in the offseason program through train

(03:04):
camp back in twenty two. The last team it was
with was a year ago with the Lions, who cut
him out of the preseason. Sunfeld also played for the Commanders,
who drafted him as a sixth round pick back in
twenty sixteen, the Eagles, the Niners, and the Lions. He
appeared in six games, one hundred and eighty eight yards
want touchdown. So interesting news out of that and then

(03:25):
other quarterback news. Rams quarterback Matt Stafford has apparently made
some more progress in his recovery from a back injury.
He was able to participate in full during today's practice,
a day after he made his twenty twenty five trading
camp practice debut. Sean McVeigh said today that he thought
that he looked better than yesterday. Thought it was a

(03:45):
step in the right direction, and they're going to continue
to hope that he's able to stack days and feel good.
He also said he thought there were some good rushes
that they had and he had to move manipulate the
pocket to activate all parts of the field, So he
thought yesterday was good for him to be able to
get a feel for it and see him get immersed,
you know, in team activities and get his feet web.

(04:08):
Nickveigh added that Stafford's making positive progress, but also, you know,
stayed cautious to avoid any major declarations, saying that the
reality is we're trying to get our hands on this
and get him to feel as good as possible. Backs
referring to Matt Stafford's back can be a vo little thing,
but it's certainly tresding in a positive direction. The Rams
have to play in Cleveland for the preseason Bonale Stafford's

(04:30):
not going to participate, like I think they're gonna hold
Jimmy Garoppolo out of that as well. LA has not
played starters under head coach Sean McVay for the vast
majority of his tender as tenure. There a couple announcements
on starting quarterbacks in terms of the quarterback battles that
are out there. The Browns made it official yesterday naming

(04:54):
Joe Flacco they started open the season. Laco served as
the team's quarterback late in twenty three, like Cleveland to
a postseason appearance under head coach Kevin Stefanski, and that
familiarity is likely helped to the now forty year old
signal caller to secure the job. It's press conference today,
Stefanski said Flaco has done really well in the off
season program at training camp, same quote. I thought he's

(05:15):
done exactly what we've asked him him to do, and
I think we have a lot of confidence in him.
Flaco has been the only healthy quarterback since the start
a camp. Is Kenny Pickett's deal with a hamstring injury,
Dylan Gabriels had a hamstring injury. Shdor Sanders now has
a blique injury. But Stefanski noted that Flacco didn't just
win the job by default, specifically stating that he earned it.

(05:39):
He also said, quote, and I understand with the injuries
how that may look, but that's not really the case here.
Joe perform really well, both in practice and the joint
practice and the meeting room, you name it, and the
walkthrough what he's able to bring to the football team.
He earned the role. Flacco is entering his eighteenth season
as a pro, and the Browns will certainly lean on
his experience as the team gets a season going. Stefanski

(06:03):
noted that all the quarterbacks have done well in preparing
for twenty five and talking about practice and games and
how they operate. Flacco's is likely to be on the
field for Saturday's preseason finale against the Rams, Stefanski said,
who get it exact playing time later in this week,
but they want to figure that out. Other Browns news,

(06:25):
Isaiah Bond met with the media for the first time
since signing with the Browns. Bond, to the receiver out
of Texas, was projected to be an early round draft choice,
but a sexual assault allegation right before the draft led
to him going undrafted. Last week brought word that no
charges will be filed, and he signed with the Browns
on Monday. He did not answer questions about the allegations

(06:45):
at his press conference beyond reiterating that he was innocent,
but he did say that his agent and Browns stential
manager Andrew Barry had remained in contact, and he's looking
forward to making Barry's move look like a wise one,
saying quote, I'm very determined not to show not all
of the organization, but also the fan base why they
made the right decision. Bond previously played at Alabama when

(07:08):
Browns offensive coordinator Tommy Reese held the same position on
that school staff and said that played a big role
on him getting to Cleveland to launch his career. That
you know, it's it's this league is largely about who
it is that that you know and and who you've
worked with, and that's one of those things that you know.

(07:28):
I think in the NFL, a lot of people just
make connections sometimes because of the connections and this whole
true a lot of the time, but sometimes it's sort
of interesting as you can, as you work in the
the insider portion of it, you can sort of see
who's drawing connections between certain things and who actually knows.

(07:49):
And that's that's been an interesting sort of thing over
the years. I guess I don't know, maybe it's an
inside baseball thing that interested in me, but it's it's
you know, it's sort of fascinating to watch as some
people just draw connections between who's worked with who before
simply because that maximum sort of holds true a lot
of the time. The other quarterback announcement that was announced

(08:12):
today is that Daniel Jones is the Colts starting quarterback,
and that gives Indiots eleventh starting quarterback since Andrew Luck
retired before the twenty nineteen season. I remember exactly where
I was when that happened. We were out in Los Angeles.
I was sitting in the press box at the Rose Bowl.
Myself and my good friend from CBS over there on

(08:34):
me Bean, were sitting there and when the news broke
and it was pandemonium in that press box. It was
pretty funny when and Andrew Luck retired. Luck retired during
the preseason twenty nineteen, Joe Kobe Brissett started fifteen games,
Brian Hoyer started one. In twenty twenty, Phil Rivers started

(08:56):
all sixteen games, plus the postseason game, the only playoff
game the Colts have had since Luck retired. In twenty
twenty one, Carson Wentz started all seventeen games, and those
are the most by any Colts quarterback since Luck. In
twenty twenty two, Matt Ryan started twelve games, Broncos third
stringer Sam Ailinger started three and Nick Foles started two.

(09:21):
In twenty twenty three, Gardner Minshew started thirteen games and
Anthony Richardson started four. Last year, Richardson started eleven games,
Flacco started six. Now Jones will start twenty twenty five.
Given that one year contract and questions about the future
at twelfth starting quarterback, could possibly be here as soon
as twenty twenty six. Head coach Shane Steichen dismissed any

(09:48):
talk of trading Richardson dismissed any sort of short leash
for Daniel Jones when he said this is for the season.
Although I wonder the first time da Jones struggles how
much the media will start asking those questions. You know.
It's it's it's sort of interesting because there's a there's

(10:10):
a thought that in not starting Anthony Richardson, that the
Colts are admitting that they made a mistake. And I
mean pro football teams make mistakes all the time, they do,
but after after making one, the best thing to do
is is kind of admitted act accordingly instead of doubling
down on it. And that doesn't mean then threw Richardson

(10:31):
will be on the bench for the entire season, Jones's
head injuries could be injured again. Richardson will need to
be ready to go, you know, each and every week.
But you know, Panthers quarterback Bryce Young, the first pick
back in twenty three, was ready to go in twenty four,
he got benched for Andy Dalton. Dalton got injured. Young
was ready to go again and resurrected his career largely
off of that. But to the extent that some will

(10:53):
describe this as a wake up call for Richardson. The
phone rang a little bit like year and that's when
Richardson was benched for Flacco after tapping out of a
game because Richardson was tired. And whatever sparked that episode
may have provided did not ignite the flame necessary to
beat out Jones this preseason. I don't. I mean, I'm

(11:18):
not a big Jones or Richardson. Rather, when he came
into league, this wasn't a sit and learn quarterback, because
this was a quarterback much like for instance, Trey Lance,
who had a lot of tools, but you were going
to need to play him because he just didn't have
the starts. He's had. He had thirteen starts in college,
He's had only fifteen starts in the NFL. He's a
guy that needs to play and he is not going

(11:40):
to get the reps sitting behind Daniel Jones. So you know,
this is one of those things that for now he's
gonna be relegated to waiting and working quietly out of
you and all that kind of stuff. But you know,
the Colts are basically admitting, hey, we didn't get this

(12:02):
right or we didn't have the patience to work it out,
because a lot of the draft day busts have come
over the last couple of years have been on quarterbacks
who didn't have enough starts and were tools guys where
you were expecting a whole Josh Allen thing, and you
recognize how rare the Josh Allen thing is. The Bills,
to their credit, had a plan for Josh Allen. They

(12:24):
stuck with it. You know, Josh Allen wasn't really honestly
good until like his third year in the league. He
was kind of bad, you know before that, and it
took a while for him to get there. But they
had a plan for that. They were just going to
play him through it, and they would slowly add whatever
they needed around him as they built around him. The

(12:46):
Bills won games in year two with Josh Allen, but
he was a fifty eight percent passer. You know, it
wasn't you know, as QBR was forty nine point four,
which was actually worse than his his rookie year where
he started eleven games and you know, had more interceptions
and touchdowns and was a fifty three percent passer. The

(13:09):
big jump for him came they got Stefan Diggs and
they just started they just kept building around him and
it started coming together in year three for Allen, which
is when he turned twenty four, and he became a
seventy percent passer. He took for forty five hundred yards
that year, thirty seven touchdowns to ten picks. You know,
it's it's it was the jump from year two where

(13:31):
you saw signs of that to year three, and there
was continuity there too. You know. His offensive coordinator for
you know, for his first three seasons in the league
was Brian Dable, and so you know, he had three
seasons to sort of develop within an offense, get the

(13:52):
confidence in himself, and you know the only thing that
they had on offense that was sort of different was
David Cully was the quarterbacks coach initially that first year
and they switched to Ken Dorsey. But you know, beyond that,
there was a continuity and that's that's how they developed

(14:13):
Josh Allen to what he was. They had a four
year plan and they were willing to suffer through erratic, bad,
inconsistent quarterback play for a couple of seasons in order
to get there. And the Colts just just weren't and
the Niners just weren't. And that's sort of the thing,
like you can't draft a project quarterback and then not

(14:36):
have the grace and the patients to sit through it. Now,
in Trey Lance's situation, Lance kept getting hurt, so that
was a little bit different. You know, he started what
four games and two seasons there in San Francisco. He
got hurt and it never never had the opportunity. He

(14:57):
wasn't like he was. He went terrible, but he just
needed the reps all totally. I mean he started like
five six games, seven games something like that in his
in his career, he's played in ten or twelve and
it's just like, you know, Lance was a guy or
injury got in the way Anthony Richardson was simply a

(15:19):
case of them just not having the patience to stick
with it and stick with him. I mean, he's he's
only twenty two, twenty three years old now. I think
he just turned twenty three back in May. I don't
hold me to that. I could be wrong with that,
but you know, Richardson was a guy who's who started

(15:41):
fifteen games and his can we haven't got to twenty games.
We don't know, you know where he's at. We did
see a little bit of a jump from year one
to year two. Still throws too many interceptions, he's still
too erratic with it, doesn't complete the stuff that he's
to complete in the short mid game. But that doesn't
get better by sitting on the bench. You know that
if you've if you've got a quarterback, if you've got
a project quarterback, and you committed to this and you

(16:04):
you know you you you've decided this can be your guy,
you've got to have a three year plan to put
him on the field. And we'll be willing to see
that three year plan through. And Buffalo did that with
Josh Allen and they've they've reaped the rewards of that
and you know, Indy really hasn't. It's been sort of
a season, season and a half and that's it. So
not surprised now they're going to go Daniel Jones because
they feel that's lower risk. I don't know that that's

(16:25):
necessarily the case. We'll see and well, we'll see how
those results play themselves out. We come back on we
get a little more Broncos stuff. You guys listened to
Broncos Country tonight right here on KOWA. Welcome back to it,
Broncos Country Tonight Short Show Post Rockies edition. But it's

(16:46):
been all right here with you. What to remind you guys. Saturday, myself,
Nick Ferguson's gonna be down at Burned down over there
on South Broadway. We'll be there eleven to one New
Orleans Saints taken on the Denver and we'll be out
there having a lot of fun down there doing the
the last preseason watch party. And I will be down

(17:06):
at the Burndown for all the away games all year,
with the exception of the Christmas game. They're not gonna
be open on Christmas, so we won't be there for that,
but we will be down at Burnout for all of
the other away games all seas. You guys come down there.
It is a cool bar. It's got like five stories
to it, a rooftop deck, the downstairs. Get this whole
Nashville saloon vibe thing. It's got plenty of space. It's

(17:29):
not like people crowded in there. And we had a
lot of fun. We were gonna we uh promotions. I
wasn't prepared for the preseason stuff, so we wound up
giving away bar tabs last time. Who knows what we'll
be doing this time. Well, we had a lot of fun.
Art Tequila down there, obviously the official tequila of the
Denver Broncos, and they were doing drink specials at the

(17:50):
Art of Tequila drink specials down there, all that kind
of stuff, a lot of a lot of fun. So
come on down. Look forward to seeing you guys down
there on Saturday at the burn Down, and we'll be
down there about eleven o'clock, by eleven to one, myself,
Nick Ferguson, a couple of other people from my Heart
the Art of Tequila girls. There'll be tons, tons of
stuff going on, So come on down. Practice today post

(18:14):
Cardinals edition and the offense looks like it might be
starting to get its feet right underneath its sharp day
for the offense, sharp day for bow knicks. Drake green Law,
Alex Singleton back out there practicing today. A lot going
on the emphasis on the run game and getting that
stuff going. As far as the Saints game goes this weekend,

(18:35):
I expect you'll see a little bit of the starters
somewhere around twelve place, maybe a driver to tops for
the offense the defense. I'm not hunter sure how much
you're gonna see, but on the offense you'll see a
little bit. They still want to they still want to
go through the paces on that and get their feet
under them and all that kind of stuff. So a
little bit of that. But we're gonna see mostly backups

(18:59):
in these games. It is the last preseason game, and
you certainly don't want to get anybody injured. And there
are some some key battles here, you know, the inside
backer position. I think you've got a little bit of
a micro fight there with Lavell Bailey and uh Taylor.
You know, I think both those guys are are showcasing

(19:19):
a little something, uh and and I think that you're
gonna have a little micro battle there looking at at
who you're gonna keep, who's going to get the practice squad,
because you're probably keep three four inside backers usually four,
and so right now that looks like obviously Green Laws Singleton, Uh.
And then the question becomes uh Levell Bailey, Jordan Turner,

(19:41):
who has suddenly turned it on? And so those those
two I think are the ones you you're kind of eyeballing,
is those two fight out the four spot opposites are
not on this roster. On the the safety position, we
know who Faga and Jones are gonna be the starter.
After that, you've got Lock and Key, PJ Lock, Devi

(20:02):
and Key, and then you probably got four guys fighting
for one, maybe two spots uh J L Skinner, Sam Franklin, Uh,
Kedrin Smith and Dlaren Turner Yell. Franklin probably offers you
the most overall is a special teams guy. But Skinner
right there in the mix. It's gonna be tough for
Keiden Smith and Glaraturry Yell to make this roster. And
and you know, one of those two guys, maybe both

(20:23):
could even be gone. You may only keep four. I
think you'll keep five, but you know, one of those
things to to sort of keep your eye on. And
then the running back position, we talked about it a lot.
We know R. J. Harvey and JK. Dobbins, you know,
are uh running backs one and two. But then after that,

(20:43):
you've got four guys fighting for probably one spot, you know,
Julia McLoughlin, Tyler Badey, Blake Watson, Aldrick Esta May all
four fighting for one spot. So that's gonna be another
thing to watch heading into this game. We we more
or less know the receiver cours gotta be Sutton Mims
Vale are the starters, Pat Bryant, Troy Franklin, Trent Sherfield,

(21:04):
the back of Sherfield with some special teams. And then
after that you got two guys probably gonna keep on
the practice squad and out of at Perry Michael Bandy,
Courty Jackson, Joking Davis, Juwan Newton and Kyries Rowan, you're
probably keeping two, which probably means you're keeping Courtney Jackson
in one of Davis or Newton. And so it'll be
interesting to see if those guys can put together, you know,

(21:27):
a big game, a statement game, and that you know,
you got to keep us and as they figure that out,
the practice squad, their rotational call ups, all that kind
of stuff that'll come into play on some of this.
But as far as you know, as far as this
stuff goes, I mean, we pretty much know what this
roster more or less is gonna be. I don't expect

(21:47):
any major surprises, you know, at this point, but we
more or less know, uh mostly what the two deep
on this roster looks like, three specialists look like. So
just you know, as we head into this thing, there
are some there are some points of emphasis, but a
lot of this is is veering towards, you know, more

(22:11):
of figuring out who's making the practice squad than it
is really the the fifty three, you know, in all
of this, So updating a couple of other things, Michael
Parsons and the Cowboys, there's been no movement there. That's
still exactly where it is and where it was at

(22:31):
the end of the day. The Cowboys probably pay Parsons late.
They probably pay him forty plus million per year. Trey Hendrickson.
We've talked about this before, but the contract situation there
has basically one major issue that's that's preventing him from signing,
and that is that they're close on the annual salary

(22:53):
and the length of the contract. But it's it is
the Cincinnati Bengals unwillingness to give him guaranteed money. That
remains the sticking point. And you know, the Bengals are
willing to guarantee the money for one year of his contract,
but they won't extend the guarantees beyond that. And Hendrickson's
not doing that. He's not doing a year and to
a year situation where he's got to go back hat
in hand and get them to put guaranteed money back

(23:15):
in there. And so that's the thing I think he'll
he'll set it out until they do. Now they've tried
shopping him, and their demands are unrealistic. They want a
first round or in twenty twenty six, a young defensive player,
and you're gonna have to pay hendricks And there's just
not many teams that fall into that category. The Colts
could maybe pull that off, but there's just not a

(23:37):
whole lot of wiggle room for teams of destinations for
you know, for that to happen. So that's that's something
to keep your eye on. I think Hendrickson, you know
a lot of speculation about the Cowboys movie Parsons. I
don't think that's happening. But the Bengals and moving Hendrickson,
you know, maybe because they've just been unwilling to move

(23:59):
beyond their typical weird, you know, cheapness. So you know,
we'll see if they ever they pony up that additional
guaranteed year two and and Hendrickson settles in there. The Commanders,
you know, reports about them shopping Brian Robinson, those are
all out there. I'll say this, I think they'll just

(24:20):
move on from Brian Robinson simply because he carries a
base salary of three point four versus a two twelve
dead cap hit. So you know, the two hundred twelve
thousand versus three point four million, you're saving three point
two million. I mean, that's that's a no brainer for
the Commanders, who have had some some players that they
felt like have exceeded expectations in the preseason. You know,

(24:46):
obviously they've still got Austin Eckler there at the running
back position, and that's that's, you know, one name that
they've got. But this this Jacorey krossky Merritt kid who
goes by Bill has been making a lot of noise
out there at the Commander's camp, and you know, if you're
a fantasy player, he may want to add to be
a roster I'm just saying. But Krosskey Merritt, who transferred

(25:11):
and then wasn't eligible for the Combine because of some
some jersey issue, some nightmare and I can't remember the
specifics of it. I just remember going over it at
the Cedar Bowl with somebody and it being ludicrous. Has
really kind of balled out this preseason. He might be
a guy that they figured they can save three point
two million dollars and you know, get him a little run.

(25:31):
They've also got Chris Rodriguez and Jeremy McNichols, so there's
there's some bodies there, but they I think that they
expect to move on from Brian Robinson and that should
put them in the right money position to be able
to finish out this Terry McLaurin deal, which I think
they'll get done in the next week and it'll be
about thirty million dollars per on average, So we'll see.

(25:53):
Dan Quinn met with the team Sunday night explain the situation.
Always said he wants players to hear things from him first,
so he kind of confirmed that the team's going to
be moving on from Brian Robinson one point, one way
or another. One of the interesting things that came out
over the weekend, and I did want to get to

(26:15):
back in August, former New Orleans Saints quarterback and scion
of the Manning family, Archie Manning, told NFL teams they
shouldn't tank for his grandson, Texas quarterback arch Manning, the
head of the twenty twenty sixth draft, as he made
it clear that Archie had no intention of leaving Texas
after the twenty twenty five season, saying that he will
continue to be at Texas. Turns out that Archie may

(26:39):
have spoken out of turn Tuesday, arch Manning was asked
about those comments, and he said he wasn't sure where
his grandfather got that idea. He's just taking it day
by day for now. That's probably a wise move, give
it his pedigree family. You know, big things expected from
Mannings soon as he steps into the starting world. Texas

(27:00):
so and while he wasn't the team's top option as
a freshman, he flashed plenty of potential last year, throwing
nine touchdowns against two interceptions in ten games, and that
certainly was enough to boost fan and scout excitement for
the season. Only he lacks the experience of whether players
Manning is already the favorite number one and overall with
the books in the twenty sixth draft. You have to

(27:23):
commit for the draft order that to happen. But people
have speculated about his plans, and well, it's possible that
he'd want to stay at Texas after the season. The
allure of being the top pick might be something that's
too enticing to pass up, something to keep your eye
on anyway, But there are plenty of factors in play
to determine whether he decides into the draft, most notably

(27:43):
being if he plays well enough to even be worth
the number one overall pick. But he could make the
decision based on which team holds the selection the draft.
The Manning families obviously turned down NFL teams in the past.
Remember Eli telling the then San Diego Chargers not to
take him with the first overall pick. Chargers did select
him and then trade him immediately to the Giants for

(28:04):
Phil Rivers. Uh And if you know, and if Archie struggles,
then he may have to return to school and try
to rebuild value for twenty twenty seven. Those are all unknowns,
you know, as far as that stuff goes. So I
don't think this too much to worry about. But it
was interesting watching him kind of sort of directly refute uh,
you know, Archie Manning and not really you know, he

(28:28):
could have soft peddled that in a number of different
ways and chose not to, but the main but he
comes out and sort of says he didn't know what
he got that meaning that that you know, Archie was
probably speaking a little bit out of turn on what
it was that he was saying. And I think that
that Arche wanted to control his own narrative in terms

(28:49):
of things, so a little just you know, let me
keep your eye on as uh we look forward this
coming year. The difference. Somebody put out a great chart
about the difference cigarette against the spread between starters and
backup quarterbacks in the NFL, and I thought that was

(29:13):
I thought that was interesting. What the biggest difference is
are in this case? I guess it would be more
drop off from starter to backup. Josh Allen to Mitch
Trubisky is considered the largest starter to drop off in
the NFL against the spread. It would be a six
point nine to eight difference at the books number two

(29:36):
Pat Mahomes to Gardner Minshew six point ninety four, Lamar
Jackson to Cooper Rush six point sixty five. Those are
those are considered the biggest drop offs. The the ones
that aren't considered big drop offs Spencer Rattler to Tyler
Shuck or Daniel Jones Tanthy Richardson. Interestingly, the Michael Pennox

(29:57):
to Kirk Cousins one of the lowest as well, just
a Fields to Toad Taylor Bonix. For those that are
I can hear you already asking finished nineteenth in the
biggest drop off, basically finished with a three point eighty
five against the spread point difference, which puts him squarely

(30:18):
in between the Kyler Murray to Jacoby Brissett one spot
above him, or Aaron Rodgers to Mason Rudolph drop off
at three point five two. To give you an idea
of what the sports books think of the difference between
Bonick and Jared Stiatam, and I'm not maybe that the
books think Stidham is better than perhaps a lot of

(30:38):
people rate, or maybe Bo's a little less than what
we rate him. Who knows, but that was interesting to
me that that that one fell where it did versus
some of the others that didn't feel like, I don't know,
I felt like there were some some spreads there that

(30:59):
perhaps felt a little bit larger, you know, maybe larger
than six seven points than they should be. We talked
a little bit about Mac Jones the Nies brain. He's
supposed to be back next week, so that's not one
that's that's necessarily as we talked about some of those injuries,

(31:19):
that's not necessarily one that is throwing the Niners all
at a whack if he's supposed to be back in
a week. A couple other things. Cam Hayward's participating in
practice even though he's got a contract dispute and thirty
six year old Steelers players but holding in while looking
for a restructured deal. He's still pushing for a raise,

(31:40):
but that that has not been something that has happened yet.
No Aaron Rodgers, Dk Metcalf, Cam Hayward, or TJ. Watt
per head coach Mike Tomlin. Rodgers won't take any snaps
of the Steelers this preseason. Say he's comfortable with what
he's seen out there. So those guys are not going
to be in for the Steelers final preseason. Brown's corner

(32:03):
Denzel Ward left practice early with the shoulder issue. He
injured his shoulder during one on ones, left the field
and pain. No update from the team as of as
of me on the microphone right now, so we'll see
how that goes. But that one, that one was interesting.
We talked already about the Matt Stafford situation, Uh, but
the Joones situation. Should do is still battling that oblique

(32:25):
injury with the Browns. Head coach Stefanski Uh said that
the Browns we'll see how he responds to limited work
before giving him more time. Tomorrow, Kenny Pickett is going
to do eleven on eleven for the first time in
three weeks as they continue to roll through their litany
of quarterbacks and figure out what they've got behind Joe

(32:45):
Flacco there, who they obviously named as the starter. The
Giants activated Andrew Thomas off the pup list, so they're
starting left tackles returning to practice right now. Russell Wilson
is the starter, Jackson Dart the backup, Jameis Winston third.
They'd come out and say they have no plans to
trade Jameis Winston despite some uh speculation that's out there. Uh.

(33:07):
There was also a report that Siddy Samuel Junior was
visiting with the Miami Dolphins. Uh. That reports false. Uh,
he's not. He and the Dolphins have had some communication
over the last few months, but there's no visit and
he's not scheduled to visit the Miami Dolphins anytime soon.
So something new to keep your eye on if he does.
But with that neck injury, he's been maybe retired without

(33:30):
saying the word retired, and we'll we'll sort of see,
you know, how that goes from there. But as it
sits right now, you know, he's not. Uh, that's not
something that's uh sitting there on the on the bubble
on the horizon. I don't know where that report started,
but it's uh, it is not accurate as of this moment.

(33:55):
I'm mostly just looking forward to seeing practice tomorrow and
seeing where we where we go from from here. With
the Broncos, they keep the offense stringing good days together.
If they do, that could be a good indicator because
the offense is not caught up to the defense as
of the second preseason game that had been concerning so
guys listening to Broncos country tonight right here on Koe
