Speaker 1 (00:00):
Nine zero is the text line, appreciates you guys weighing
in seven to oh sneaky fast with supple hands, though,
that is the question.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
Supple hands.

Speaker 3 (00:09):
That's the the Dave Logan thing. You never end of
the supple hands.

Speaker 2 (00:12):
I've heard about some other.

Speaker 1 (00:16):
Nobody was describing Dave's hands as supple back when they
were there was like one of those NFL films deal.

Speaker 3 (00:20):
Okay, yeah, anyway, so that's that's one of those things.

Speaker 4 (00:23):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (00:24):
Five six six zero is the is the text line.

Speaker 2 (00:27):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (00:27):

Speaker 3 (00:50):
It's on different plat platform. Well, we would need to
promote that too, so we got to find a way
to incorporate that. We'll work on that. Just something We're.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
Gonna ride out to kait Common Spirital hotline and making
his try infant return.

Speaker 3 (01:00):
It's been a while. Ryan Michael had to be Ryan
Michael on Twitter, right, I do, buddy?

Speaker 5 (01:06):
Well, then, Nick, how are you guys.

Speaker 3 (01:08):
Doing pretty well?

Speaker 2 (01:09):
Good to hear those dulcet tones.

Speaker 3 (01:11):
You've been away for a bit.

Speaker 1 (01:12):
This offseason coaching with the Progue Lions. Congratulations on the
blowout win to end the season by the way of
the European League of Football.

Speaker 3 (01:20):
What has that experience been like for you?

Speaker 1 (01:22):
And what can you tell listeners about American football over
in Europe.

Speaker 6 (01:27):
It's growing and it's been one of the most experiences
I've ever had. First and foremost credit to the Prague Lions,
from ownership, to the coaching staff, and especially all the
guys in the locker room. We went from a team
that won one game in two seasons one in twenty
three over a two year.

Speaker 5 (01:43):
Stretch to seven and five this year, so we.

Speaker 6 (01:46):
Just merely barely missed the playoffs, but a huge offensive
and defensive turnaround.

Speaker 5 (01:51):
And you know, I'm proud to be a.

Speaker 6 (01:53):
Part of such a distinguished coaching staff and starts at
the top head coach Dave Warner.

Speaker 5 (01:58):
He's a guy.

Speaker 6 (01:59):
Former quarterback coach and co offensive coordinator at Michigan State.
Helped prepare four quarterbacks for the NFL, most notably Kirk
Cousins in Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles. It's been a
fantastastic experience to just learned.

Speaker 5 (02:14):
From him and Golden tat Rules, a Super Bowl.

Speaker 6 (02:17):
Champion on our coaching staff, and he's worked on offensive
lines that helped protect Brett Farr, Kurg Warner, Eli Mann,
and Russell Wilson.

Speaker 5 (02:25):
He was coaching the offensive line.

Speaker 6 (02:26):
At USC when Reggie Bush won the Heisman. Coach Reggie Mitchell.
He's been at it for thirty years in college football.
He's crept over thirty guys for the NFL. Richard Brino
Bernowski a little bit of a Broncos Country connection. He's
been both an agent and a coach. He coached Tony
Carter in high school. James Brooks, who was in my opinion,
the best offensive lineman in Europe last year, took over

(02:49):
as our defensive coordinator.

Speaker 5 (02:51):
He was a fantastic defensive.

Speaker 6 (02:52):
Lineman Arizona State, part of a team that held Andrew
looked at zero touchdowns and hear at Stanford and coach Darkwsnar,
a former first round played for a decade in the NFL,
Jim Thorpe Award winner and another Broncos country connection. So
they bearn won that award last year. So I'm proud
to be a small part of it, and I'm so
happy to see the success team had this year in Prague.

Speaker 4 (03:15):
Ran There's been a lot to talk about, you know,
bow Niggs and the avoidance of the sophomore slump. That's
something that Sean Payton really would not like to use.

Speaker 2 (03:25):
The proper Vervians.

Speaker 4 (03:26):
But when you look at bo why would you rank
him amongst the other thirty one quarterbacks right now? And
where do you see him at the end of the season.

Speaker 5 (03:37):
It's a really good question.

Speaker 6 (03:40):
You know names that come to mind, obviously you have
to put ahead of bow Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen, Joe Burrow,
Pam Holmes, Field Hurts. When you work today, outside of
the top five, you know guys like Matt Stafford, Jad
and Daniels. Here at GOFF, I'm still very high on
Trevor Lawrence when healthy.

Speaker 5 (03:56):
I think those guys could put ahead over bow as well.
He gets to the bottom of that top ten, and
I think bonnets.

Speaker 6 (04:02):
This part of the discussion along with Justin Herbert Rock, Perdy, Baker, Mayfield,
Ordan loves to He's right on the cusp there. And
so to even be having this conversation for a guy
who's just entering in his sophomore season, I think is remarkable.
Like you said, it's difficult to avoid that sophomore slump.
And I think if we see raw data row box

(04:23):
number statistics that aren't quite as strong as they were
is look the year, it's not necessarily a reflection of
him taking a step back in his developments, which his
defensive coordinators have more all twenty two front to study.
So it's a different ballgame when defensive coaches have more
ammunission to prepare.

Speaker 5 (04:39):
I'm excited to see what he does this year.

Speaker 3 (04:41):
Toy with Ryan Michael at the Ryan Michael on Twitter.

Speaker 1 (04:44):
And it's Saints Week, maybe not quite as notable as
Saints Week last year with a prime time regular season game.

Speaker 3 (04:50):
It's preseason.

Speaker 1 (04:50):
Nonetheless, we've heard the comparisons between Nick's.

Speaker 3 (04:54):
Former Sean Payton, Keeb Wondrew Breeze.

Speaker 1 (04:57):
How fair is that comparison at this point? And what
does Boney to do to put himself in that same
class as Breeze.

Speaker 6 (05:04):
Well, I've been calling him Drew Brees light with wheels,
and I mean that with great affection. But you have
to bear in mind we're comparing him to somebody Ben
who I consider to be the second greatest quarterback in
the history.

Speaker 5 (05:16):
Of professional football. It's the hell I can die on.

Speaker 6 (05:19):
It's a stance that it's easy to defend Drew Brees.
What he did with Sean Payton and New Orleans was.

Speaker 5 (05:26):
Not only unprecedented, it's tearless to this day.

Speaker 6 (05:30):
So we're seeing the quarterback position evolved in terms of
duel thread capability. Obviously, that's an element to his game
that Goo brings it true certainly didn't showcase in New Orleans.
But we're not necessarily seeing these duel thread quarterbacks do
through the air what quarterbacks like Drew Brees, Payton Man
and Tom Bray, Aaron Rodgers and his point, we're able
to do it.

Speaker 5 (05:49):
So to put him in that same class, I.

Speaker 6 (05:52):
Don't think that's a realistic projection, and I don't think
it's necessarily helpful, But there is a reason that we compare.
Then it's and Drew Brees and so I called Matt
Ryan a poor man's Payton nanny. And as you know,
I consider Matt Ryan is one of the twenty five
greatest quarterbacks in pro football history.

Speaker 5 (06:09):
So if we can put Bo.

Speaker 6 (06:10):
Nix in the same breathless Drew Brees, he's obviously doing
something right.

Speaker 4 (06:14):
Well, I know that it's going to be really difficult
for Bo to, I guess this early stage, to put
up those Drew Brees type numbers, even though he has
a Drew Brees coach called in plays for him. But
something outside of the norm that Coach Payton has never
really had and he never really had this with Breeze,
was Bo's mobility. Now, now there is some thought that,

(06:36):
like most quarterbacks, Bo should just stay in the pocket
and go through his progressions. What do you lean on
that when it comes to a quarterback staying in the
pocket or using his god given athletic ability to help
extend place, you like one more than the other, or
how do.

Speaker 2 (06:52):
You look at it?

Speaker 6 (06:55):
The passing is unquestionably a more efficient way to move
the ball up and down the field, And obviously, if.

Speaker 5 (07:01):
You have a dual thread capability to your.

Speaker 6 (07:03):
Game, you're going to want to utilize it for a
quarterback like goo Nicks, somebody who were hoping to keep
around here in Broncos Country for the long.

Speaker 5 (07:10):
Haul, not just the shore haul.

Speaker 6 (07:12):
I think the teams have to be very careful that
they don't allow what happened to Andrew Luck, what I
feel has currently been happening the Trevor Lawrence to happen
to our guy here in Denver, Because even if you
can squeeze some really strong seasons out of him, if
Bonnicks is a shell of his former self entering year five,
entering year six is not the way that you want
to do it. And obviously sustaining a back injury last

(07:33):
year that has any really nervous, and we saw a
bit of that rushing production tapering off towards the final
third of the season.

Speaker 5 (07:41):
Assuming he's a full.

Speaker 6 (07:42):
Go one hundred percent this year, you're going to lean
on it when and where possible, But I think it's
important not to build your game plan around it or
lean into it too much, because even if you can
have success in the short term, you might be costing
yourself some successful long term Tyler.

Speaker 1 (07:56):
Ryan Michael IV Ryan Michael on Twitter obviously an assistant
with the Prague Lions of the ELF European League of
Football and it works with the Pro Football Hall of
Fame as well as Presidents, Treasurer, Secretary and first member
emeritus the Devon Veley Fan Club. It pains me to

(08:18):
see him go, but given the return on investment, the
Broncos had to make a move. What are your thoughts
on the trade and who do you see stepping into
Vla's role from a statistical perspective.

Speaker 5 (08:30):
That's a great question, and he'll be missed.

Speaker 6 (08:33):
I think he's a fantastic football player, a fantastic prospect,
and the reason my New Orleans gave up as much
as they did to get him.

Speaker 5 (08:40):
I say this with.

Speaker 6 (08:41):
The utmost respect of Devon or any receiver. Really, it's
not a first round guaranteed wide receiver.

Speaker 5 (08:49):
One type of type of player. He finished one.

Speaker 6 (08:52):
Hundred and fourth in receiving last year, which was darn
impressive for seventh round draft selection. But you look at
the roster and though you have receivers.

Speaker 5 (09:01):
With different skill sets.

Speaker 6 (09:02):
Pat Bryant, Troy Franklin, is it possible that we have
somebody who we can fit into that wide receiver too,
wide receiver street bracket? Who can give us four hundred
and seventy five years and three touchdowns. Of course there is,
and I think that's really the meat and potatoes behind
why we made the move that we did. It's a gamble,
but one thing I really appreciate that the Broncos organization

(09:24):
has been doing over the last two years is that
we are building.

Speaker 5 (09:27):
A roster for the long term.

Speaker 6 (09:29):
Right It's why we doubled down in the draft on
top of strengths we already have, because we don't want
to be complacent and just assume that something that was
a strength last year is going to be a strength
the following year.

Speaker 5 (09:41):
And I think, if we're honest with ourselves, as anything
that happened in the NFL, we've seen wildcard teams go on.

Speaker 6 (09:46):
Super Bowl runs, so nothing is outside the realm of possibility.
The Broncos are a fringe playoff team, but when you
look at the roster on paper, it doesn't strike me
as a roster that's going to be a Super Bowl
contender most likely. Think if that is the case, we
need to think ahead because you can't port everything into
twenty twenty five. I think we're playing smart and football,

(10:08):
and maybe that's not the popular answer.

Speaker 5 (10:10):
Maybe that's not the answer people want to hear. I
don't know.

Speaker 6 (10:12):
He'll be greatly missed, but I think it was a
strategic move that will hopefully be the right move a little.

Speaker 5 (10:18):
Long haul right.

Speaker 4 (10:19):
And there's a topic of conversation that most people don't
want to have or they're not sure how to articulate
the information because it's just all over the place. And
what I'm talking about is the situation that's happening with
Shador Sanders up in Cleveland. And I've listened all week
to different individuals and they do have one of my

(10:42):
former Texans teammate, Dan Olowski, who said that, hey, listen,
Jallen Gabers film was better than Chador's film in the
first game, with each quarterback had a chance to compete.
As a person who evaluate quarterbacks, and you watch a
lot of film, give me your take, you know, put
some I don't know, put your spin on this. Give
me what you think is going to happen or what

(11:04):
you see happening in this situation.

Speaker 6 (11:07):
I think Sadora Sanders has the potential to develop into
an NFL starter, and in the right situation, I think
that he has the skill set where he could be
an effective, above average NFL starter. You know, we ran
some data last year, Nick, in terms of the bust
rate and the success rate in terms of where quarterbacks

(11:27):
are taken in the draft, and if you look at
anybody taken outside of the top ten, but especially outside
of the first.

Speaker 5 (11:34):
Round, the bust rate.

Speaker 6 (11:35):
I don't have the data in front of me, but
it's overwhelming. Almost nobody succeeds when they're drafted outside of
the first round. And when you look to the handful
of exceptions to the rule in the Super Bowl era,
what you're going to find as quarterbacks who found themselves
in incredibly favorable situations, whether it be surrounded by incredible
skill position players, a tremendous defensive support, or great coaching.

(12:00):
Particular order, John Montanaker round draft pick right went.

Speaker 5 (12:03):
To Bill Walsh. The forty nine ers Jerry.

Speaker 6 (12:05):
Rice to three defenses on the regular so he doesn't
qualify Kurt Warner. And there's a situation with the greatest,
the greatst show on turf and the talent that those
RAMS rosters had. Mike Martz was an authentive geniusic for
Meal as an underrated, underappreciated head coach, they had Marshall
Fulk in the backfield. You could look to Russell Wilson,
you could look to Dak Prescott, you could look to

(12:25):
Brock Purty. But you're not going to find an exception
to the rulenick of somebody.

Speaker 5 (12:29):
Who was drafted outside of the first round went to.

Speaker 6 (12:31):
A below average football team ended up becoming a starter
and played the position at a high level. There are
no examples that I can think of in the Super
Bowl era, and so understanding that reality, even if we
hold Shadoor in a high regard, in my opinion.

Speaker 5 (12:44):
I think he was a second round caliber quarterback.

Speaker 6 (12:46):
I think he was underdrafted, but he wasn't a top
ten caliber prospect.

Speaker 5 (12:50):
He wasn't a first round talent. So he's in Cleveland.

Speaker 6 (12:55):
I'm trying to be nice here. That's not going to
be the exception to the rule, and so I don't
think his career is even going to have.

Speaker 5 (13:01):
A fair opportunity before it's even started.

Speaker 1 (13:04):
Tyler Ryan Michael, Let you Ryan Michael last one here
real quick. Are we under rating Devade Valet as a
wide receiver in terms of success percentage last year? And
that is the amount of catches that go for certain
number of yards on first down, certain number percentage on
second then first down on third or fourth down. There
were only a few receivers that were better than him

(13:24):
in the league last year. Chris Godwin, I'm on Ross,
Saint Brown, Chris Olave, and T Higgins.

Speaker 5 (13:30):
That's it.

Speaker 2 (13:30):
Those are the.

Speaker 1 (13:31):
Only receivers that were better at him in success percentage
than Dvable last year.

Speaker 5 (13:35):
Great Sat.

Speaker 6 (13:36):
It's a great stat top five and an important efficiency metric,
and so it's a good point, and it's very.

Speaker 5 (13:43):
Possible that we are underrating him. But at the end
of the day, I do look at sample size.

Speaker 6 (13:46):
He's a guy who had fifty five targets all here,
and he caught forty one of those passes tremendous.

Speaker 5 (13:51):
Is that a large enough.

Speaker 6 (13:52):
Sample size in a one year window for me to
feel confident that he's going to be a bona fide
wide receiver number one? Now, is it possible that he
could develop into a starter and he can produce at
a higher level than he did last year with Denver?
It's absolutely possible. New Orleans is a different situation. They
had a greater need of the position. We have more
depth there and so I wish him well and I

(14:14):
would hope for nothing more than for him to outpace
what he did in Denver and become a star receiver
in New Orleans, because I think he's on a heck
of a football player. But all we can do is
look at it for what it is on paper, and
so it's a good point are underrating him.

Speaker 5 (14:27):
Probably Is he going to be a long term Pro
Bowl caliber starter? Probably not? And I do think we
have guys on the roster.

Speaker 6 (14:35):
Wed the potential to produce similar if on better numbers.

Speaker 3 (14:40):
Ryan, We appreciate it as always look forward to catching
up with again soon. Sounds good, guys, Absolutely take care,
Ryan Michael.

Speaker 1 (14:46):
Let you Rod Michael assistant coach there with the progue
Lions of the European League of American Football and contribute
to Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Speaker 3 (14:54):
We always enjoy getting a chance to have him on
and chop it up when we come back.

Speaker 1 (14:59):
We're going to get into it a little bit about
this Vley thing, who's gonna step into that role up,
Also a little bit of optimism about the Colorado Rockies.
All of a sudden, me dry blanket Albright who saw
that would come in Broncos Country night back after.

Speaker 6 (15:13):
This, Cleveland had Dave Logan had wide receiver with his
long reach and suffle hands.

Speaker 2 (15:19):
At six', Five logan was Like King.

Speaker 5 (15:22):
Kong i'm on cornerback.

Speaker 1 (15:29):

Speaker 1 (16:32):
Season i'm just saying last, so we had a little
mix up last time when we were out there the first.
Time it was the first time we get a few
with preseason FOR us two of, course and, uh we
did not bring anything out from, promotions so we wound
out doing trivia to pay people's bar.

Speaker 3 (16:45):
Tabs, really, yes.

Speaker 1 (16:48):
Well i'm not saying we won't do that this, time
so just putting it out.

Speaker 3 (16:52):
There if you don't like, it send it right.

Speaker 4 (16:54):
Back, well it doesn't like to have their bars have
paid for.

Speaker 1 (16:58):
It, yeah AND i like to made the tremain trivia
question that got the win, Was, uh which Former broncos
quarterback Was John elway's sons roommates in?

Speaker 2 (17:09):
College that would that have Been Axon.

Speaker 1 (17:13):
Lynz No, Greasy, no Brock osweiler Was jack always roommate
At Arizona.

Speaker 7 (17:20):
State that's, RIGHT i remember that now that you say.

Speaker 1 (17:22):
It we did have somebody eventually get that. Question there
were many many wrong guesses before they got, there.

Speaker 3 (17:29):
Though somebody was like Te bo And i'm.

Speaker 2 (17:32):
Like whoa whoa hold?

Speaker 3 (17:34):
On Knock CALLY i mean at that, POINT i mean
to get.

Speaker 1 (17:37):
It but there were Several Maxial lynch guesses and then,
Uh Zach.

Speaker 3 (17:40):
Dysert GUESS i forgot About Zach. Dysert.

Speaker 2 (17:43):
Yeah actually it was.

Speaker 4 (17:44):
Crazy AS i, said in a, room WHAT i did
my coach and internship with The broncos the year they went,
to uh The Super, bowl and sitting in the room
obviously Brock, Osweller Zach, Dysert Peige.

Speaker 2 (17:56):
Manning, uh it.

Speaker 4 (17:58):
Was it was really a fun and entertaining. Leeting i'll
say it that. Way, yes it. Was zach is an interesting. Individual,
yes That's i'll just leave it with. That, yeah there
were a lot Of there were a lot of interesting
guesses out of. That The Trevor simeons of the. World Paxton.
Lynch obviously it was a popular. Guest BUT i was,
like do you Know johanna Wis son did not go
to The university Of. Memphis, well you know what the,

(18:19):
REASON i, Said paxton was because WHEN i think, about you,
know Why paxston was, drafted didn't even go back to
looking at brought as, well like having some familiarity with
the quarterback and wanting to take them and select him
rather when they were. Selected and BECAUSE i Know Jerry,
jones you know it was in the business.

Speaker 2 (18:42):
And taken a.

Speaker 4 (18:43):
Quarterback And John ELWAY i, think Snatched Packson lynch right
Before Jerry.

Speaker 1 (18:48):
Jones and they weren't the only. One Andy reid was
also interested In Paxton.

Speaker 2 (18:54):
Lynch it was a.

Speaker 1 (18:55):
Comedy If Andy reid had Gotten Paxton, lynch he would
not have Grafted Pat mahomes the next. Year think about
the entire ecosystem of THE. Nfl how that could have been.
Derailed like if you.

Speaker 2 (19:05):
COULD i don't, know go back in time and manipulate.

Speaker 4 (19:09):
It being A broncos, fan would you do that just
just to change the?

Speaker 1 (19:15):
FORTUNE i would do it just to see If Sean
payton was telling the truth in his newfound claim over
the last couple of years that he absolutely wanted to
Draft Pat mahomes there and then got leap. Frogged and
at the time it was said that he Wanted Deshaun.
Watson interesting although in recent years he his class just
kind of like That Chris ballard. Thing, well we always
had already Got Chris. Ballard Count who was it who

(19:37):
was the gem of The, colts the one that went
after A Paullion Bill, pollyan who was, like, yeah we
always had a first round grade on To Tom.

Speaker 4 (19:45):
Brady, WELL i mean all of that is always great
to say after the. Fact no one would you know
if you had a first round grade On Tom, brady
he would have drafted him.

Speaker 1 (19:52):
Before the sixth round to be the back up of
the first round pick had.

Speaker 4 (19:56):
Of, course but it always works well when you're able
to say that.

Speaker 1 (20:00):
The everybody said stuff after the. FACT i Called Pat
mahomes A hall Of famer before he's. Drafted everybody and
everybody was telling me there's no way you could say.
THIS i was, LIKE i literally promise you the tweets, Exist,
YES i can show. YOU i compared him To Brett
farr AND i. UNDERSOLD i was, like this guy's got.

Speaker 3 (20:19):
A rocket for an. Arm he just needs somebody to
harness him to football playing a.

Speaker 5 (20:24):
Rate.

Speaker 4 (20:24):
YEAH i think a lot of people were not high
On Patrick mahomes during the time because when when you
look at the conference that.

Speaker 2 (20:31):
He was, in they didn't even play. Defense AND i.

Speaker 4 (20:34):
Think Lincoln roley was his his coach Of Texas, tech
and he was just funny gun just throw the, ball
throw the, ball throw the, ball but it worked out For.

Speaker 2 (20:43):
Kansas.

Speaker 4 (20:44):
City AND i was talking to a friend today and
this friend is a raiderst, fan and what he said to,
me he was just, Like, okay well he's got The
raiders winning eleven games this, season, right because that's ALL i.
Said you, know everyone is looking at The raiders to

(21:04):
be the bottom team and THE. AFCs and he's, like,
well they're going to go on number five and they're
going to actually win in the, playoffs, Right AND i was, like,
okay well that's. Great SO i, said if you have
The raiders doing what you're, projecting because he projected that
they're gonna split With Kansas, city they're gonna split with The,

(21:26):
chargers but they're going to be The broncos, TWICE.

Speaker 2 (21:30):
I, SAID i, said hold, on, man hold, on hold,
ON i. WAS i.

Speaker 4 (21:34):
WAS i was riding with you for for a little
is that was allowing you to explain. This but the
moment when you got to the point where you said
that The raids are going to be The broncos, twice
you lost.

Speaker 2 (21:43):
Me he lost. Me so he, said, well who do
you think is going to win THE? Afc? WAS i,
said The. BRONCOS i am zach Me AM.

Speaker 4 (21:55):
I being a little delusional and in saying that and
projecting that The roncos can and will win THE Nfc.

Speaker 2 (22:02):
WEST i don't think it's delusional at.

Speaker 7 (22:04):
All you, KNOW i think they're second right, now AND
i think it's well on the.

Speaker 3 (22:08):
Table you.

Speaker 7 (22:09):
Know The PATRIOTS i think made people numb to the
fact that this type of dynastic run is really, rare
even going back to the eighties or the. Nineties you,
know The chiefs look to maybe be in the middle
of one right, now but, again it was kind of
unprecedented before The patriots did. It it'd be kind of
wild to have two back to back historically GREAT nfl

(22:30):
dynasties during the free agency era and. Everything, again it
very well could. Happen BUT i, think you, know, eventually
they're going to lose the, division AND i think they
look a little vulnerable this. Season and The, BRONCOS i
think they're going to have a top three defense in the.
LEAGUE i think there's a good chance they have a
top ten, offense and anytime you have that, combo you

(22:51):
are going to be a top tier.

Speaker 3 (22:53):
COMPETITOR i, YEAH i.

Speaker 1 (22:55):
Wouldn't be surprised if they finished FIRST i wouldn't be
surprised if they finished. Third, like there's a tight division
which a lot of talent there at the. Top, now
The charger has been a little danged. Up obviously Losing
slater hurts big for, Them BUT i wouldn't be.

Speaker 3 (23:07):
Surprised any of the.

Speaker 1 (23:07):
ABOVE i think the first three in this division are,
tough and The raiders are tougher Than they're just not
at that tier.

Speaker 3 (23:12):
Yet THE Afc west is.

Speaker 1 (23:14):
Tough it is a very tough, division and so you,
KNOW i wouldn't be surprised if The broncos said his
first Woulden, shock we finished, third would and shock me
finished second wind. Shock you, KNOW i think all three
of those teams are quality teams and it's really is
going to be an interesting battle this.

Speaker 4 (23:27):
Year so whether they finish first or, NOT i, mean, obviously,
okay that is. Debatable i'm saying as though they have
a strong possibility of doing. It, now what can we
can we agree on the fact that they're going to
be ahead of The. RAIDERS I i agree with.

Speaker 3 (23:45):
THAT i do not.

Speaker 1 (23:46):
BELIEVE i believe The raiders will finish fourth in the
division barring an, IMPLOSION i. E mahomes getting hurt Or
herbert getting hurt for The, chargers Or nicks getting hurt
for The. Broncos barring an employee a quarterback season ending.

Speaker 3 (23:58):
INJURY i believe The raiders will finish fourth in the.

Speaker 2 (24:01):
Division, okay, well you know who you. Are you had
this conversation on.

Speaker 4 (24:08):
Today you're probably, Listening so there there is right, there
you're they still you still have your filling filling in
at the bottom of the n F C west.

Speaker 3 (24:18):
Well in the sevent generally, speaking The raiders and their
fans or.

Speaker 4 (24:21):
Bottoms so now when we say, bottoms are they like
that liquid in the garbage.

Speaker 1 (24:28):
Can it's a Term i'm not going to get into
right now because Then i'm gonna be. Canceled but EVERYBODY
i think knows WHAT i. Mean uh four catching the
pod tomorrow will in the work. Truck BUT i was
wondering if we're looking to add to the tight end.

Speaker 3 (24:40):
Room and then it says tenders And. Caso that's, right
team tenders In caso's not this.

Speaker 2 (24:47):
Again Even zach is sticking his head to my.

Speaker 3 (24:50):
Delicacy, look just because you guys can't appreciate the greatness
that is tenders in, case well you, know What.

Speaker 2 (24:54):
Hey you that? Texter who was it who hit me up?
On so, shoot you got have Added i'm, GOOD i
mean and we and we.

Speaker 3 (25:02):
Will that's more for.

Speaker 1 (25:03):
Us but add to the tight end, ROOM i don't,
know BECAUSE i, mean you're Getting Nate atkins back after
about the first month of the, season and he's your h.

Speaker 3 (25:10):
Back you've Got Evan, ingram who's you.

Speaker 1 (25:13):
Know you're You're Jimmy, graham you, know kind of detached
off the line why whatever you want to call, it heavy,
slot whatever you want to call.

Speaker 3 (25:20):
It you've Got, troutman who's your in line.

Speaker 2 (25:23):
Guy.

Speaker 1 (25:24):
Uh you've Got Lucas, kroll who we had ON Koy
sports earlier today and a chance to talk to. HIM
i asked him if he's a former baseball, player asked
if he was thinking about warming that arm up for
The rockies and you're going to The hall Of.

Speaker 2 (25:35):
Fame he was.

Speaker 3 (25:36):
Not uh, YEAH i didn't ask him that. One, okay.

Speaker 1 (25:41):
You've Got Caleb, lohner who's your project that's practice.

Speaker 2 (25:45):
Squad, yeah, yeah so we're.

Speaker 1 (25:48):
How who who is it that you think you would?
ADD i mean because they're, playing you, know this off.
Season they kind of looked at adding to they kind
of looked at Adding Evan ingram And Juwan. Johnson johnson
wanted to be the guy went back To New Orleans Evin,
ingram you, Know and so you didn't really wind up with,
that but you've GOT i just don't see there's any
room like who are you getting rid of to make room?

Speaker 3 (26:09):
For who are you?

Speaker 4 (26:09):
Getting, Okay SO i look at it and the idea
of being more, lean, right and being more like getting
more fast and fishing guys on the. Field SO i
know you talk About Nate. Atkins Nate adkins was just
kind of like that third down or inside the red

(26:30):
zone guy caught a lot of touchdowns last. Year and
then you Got Michael burton who had the hamstring injury
and they had to bring In Adam.

Speaker 2 (26:37):
Princess while he was.

Speaker 4 (26:39):
Injured i'm, thinking you tell me what you think now
the This broncos offense can be a little more, leaner.
Right and WHAT i mean by that, is do you
really need to Have Nate atkins And Michael.

Speaker 3 (26:53):
BURTON i don't think you need both of. THEM i
think you need one of.

Speaker 1 (26:56):
Them AND i think you Keep adkins because he plays two,
positions so he could play tight, end but he could
also play that h back fullback, role and they loved
him in the low zone last. Year you saw him
when they got inside the five Glase atkins was a slot.
Machine you put the ball in his hands and he
cranked the lever and you were getting a.

Speaker 3 (27:10):
Touchdown but had the sake of.

Speaker 4 (27:12):
Saying losing a guy Like Caleb loner WHO i.

Speaker 2 (27:17):
THINK i, mean he stays in the league long.

Speaker 4 (27:20):
Enough this year he gets this offense underneath his, belt
he becomes more. Confident you look at what happened With
Troy franklin after his first year and he's on a
lot of. Pressure second year looks so much. Better do
you run a risk of losing out on a young
player like that to keep A Nate? Atkins because the
REASON i say that Because Nate atkins is using a short.

(27:43):
AREA i mean you're not really using him or, saying,
okay well he is a passing. Threat now for some,
reason he's become a passing threat in the end zone
because defenders are not paying attention and they don't really count.
Well and as far as putting him the, account as
far as knowing is though he's getting out in passing.
Routes So i'm thinking that you can part ways with

(28:07):
those two Guys Nate atkins And Michael, burton keep those
tight ends and still be more effective in the passing.

Speaker 1 (28:14):
Game, yeah AND i, THINK i, Mean i'd like to
see more two tight end sets with With angram not
really being a tight.

Speaker 3 (28:22):
End i'd like to see sets where you have traveling but.

Speaker 1 (28:25):
You can spread the field up that. Way well you
can see they say it gives you a. Versatility i'd
like to. SEE i, mean you, know we know most
people know The Sean payton offense has cut sort of
a three, wide one, tight one, back you, know kind of,
offense and there are different packages for different.

Speaker 3 (28:38):
Things you bring a full back in with the goal
line or short, yardage those kinds of. Thing you can
bring a tight end and let me, h that's What i'm.
Saying i'd love to see With. Ingram you can have
all kinds of.

Speaker 1 (28:47):
Stuff you can come out there what looks like a
three tight end package and all of a sudden it's,
not you, Know and so that's.

Speaker 2 (28:53):
One of those.

Speaker 1 (28:53):
Things if you've Got, Adkins trautman And ingram out there
along with a sudden alously you're done in the goal.
Line all of a, sudden you Move ingram out to
the left, side you Got sutton to the. RIGHT i,
mean you got you, know you got two faith one
of them is going to be matched, up one of
them is going to have a, missmatch.

Speaker 2 (29:06):
And then then there's the seam is. Open so you.

Speaker 1 (29:08):
GOT i, mean there's different ways to you, know to
package this. Stuff there's different ways to attack. THIS i
liked the idea and with something we saw it finally
in that second preseason, game and we're going to see this.
Year is something you AND i have been talking about
for quite some. Time The broncos running with pace when
they get a first down off big, play going up,

(29:31):
tempo they get a first down up pick, play they
got pre programmed, plays you, know to take them in after,
that and THAT i think that's going to.

Speaker 3 (29:37):
Be very advantageous for this. Team Is.

Speaker 1 (29:39):
Shue we saw him doing a little. BIT i think
they scored off it BECAUSE i think that was THE. R.

Speaker 3 (29:43):
J harvey.

Speaker 1 (29:43):
Run was this was the score wasn't that off First
it wasn't that off. Pace so first, down the big
playoff first. Down i'll go back and, look But i'm
pretty sure it.

Speaker 4 (29:49):
Was but see from a defensive, STANDPOINT i love when
teams go no.

Speaker 2 (29:57):
TEMPO i, mean go with tempo and play with.

Speaker 4 (29:59):
Him and it's best served to play with tempo here
in the thin, air because you get a chance to
wear down your defensive. Opponent then you can really lean
on him with that big offensive. Line AND i know
it's been a point of emphasis over the past couple of.
Years The broncos want to be more committed to running the.
Ball there's nothing that says run the ball more than

(30:22):
watching d lineman who can't get off the field or
looking to the sideline padding and tapping their helmet looking
for someone to come in and give them a. Break,
no that's when you speed things. Up and with the
receivers and the running backs that The broncos now, have
they have those, capabilities and your quarterback is very mobile

(30:44):
and he puts pressure on the.

Speaker 2 (30:45):
Defense AND i can tell you this being a defensive.

Speaker 4 (30:47):
Player the moment you get tired and there's less oxygen
going to the, brain man.

Speaker 1 (30:54):
Your decision making, matrix there's tons of. Stuff your decision
making matrix gets wrecked when you lacked exygen to the
brain and you Can't therefore.

Speaker 4 (31:02):
Communicate now you got cotton, mouth, right cotton Eye, joe
but cotton, mouth and you can't get the words that
you want to get them, out but you. Can't and
then when you start running those man, beaters gods can't.
Communicate AND i can tell you once, again less oxygen to.
Brain you see the formation why you studied it all.

(31:23):
Week guess what you can't call it.

Speaker 1 (31:24):
Out concentration, slips the ability to communicate, slips ability to execute, slips.

Speaker 3 (31:30):
And so anytime you have it a chance to exploit.

Speaker 1 (31:32):
That but that was SOMETHING i noticed that because you
AND i didn't really you, know it's schedule being what
it is with The, rockies you didn't get.

Speaker 3 (31:36):
A chance to talk about. That we saw some pace
finally in that, one and what a big adjustment.

Speaker 1 (31:40):
Was And i'm reasonably CONFIDENT. Rj harvey scored on a
first down carry off of off of big play on
one of those one of those times they went up, tempo.

Speaker 4 (31:48):
And that's how you even the playing field for your.
Offense and you're running, backs you have to wear down
the defense and make them.

Speaker 3 (31:56):
Tired we come, Back, Patrick youyoti's gonna join.

Speaker 2 (31:59):
Us we'll talk to him about.

Speaker 1 (32:00):
That amongst a few other, things you guys listen To
