Speaker 1 (00:00):
Well bright, Nick Ferguson, Zach Seegers here with you five
(00:02):
six six nine zero he is the text line, oh man, Yeah,
the text line blowing.
Speaker 2 (00:09):
Up for that news segment.
Speaker 1 (00:10):
Thanks Jody Jordan calling been out for being a pothead.
That's messed up.
Speaker 3 (00:19):
Oh man.
Speaker 2 (00:20):
Somebody asks how they get on the radio.
Speaker 4 (00:21):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (00:22):
I we didn't know how to tell you the answer
to that. They just called me and said, hey, we
want to show them there.
Speaker 3 (00:27):
Called hey, just random guy.
Speaker 1 (00:29):
I mean, honestly, that is really went really out went down.
It was uh for me. I already had a large
social media following, so built in audience.
Speaker 2 (00:39):
That kind of helps. If you're if you're bringing money
to the table, you're bringing audience to the table there,
they'll probably hire you. Uh And then like I heard,
immediately regret that.
Speaker 1 (00:47):
Uh five six six zeros text line going right out
to the KA Commas for the hotline to bringing our
guy Patrick keyod at Patrick.
Speaker 2 (00:53):
C H I O T T I on Twitter. Patrick
Are you doing?
Speaker 4 (00:57):
Oh brother, I am doing fan ad. You know, if
they're calling the offer being a pothead, then you can
come out here to Portland, Oregon and I'll treat you
to a good time.
Speaker 1 (01:08):
Looks like I think Jody was trying to make jokes
about himself because he was like, who's contributed during the
middle of the news cause I didn't realized it live
and he's like, uh, He's like, uh, who's contributed the
most of the pot taxes twenty fourteen? And I'm like,
that'll be you talking to Jody, And somehow everybody thought
it was me and not anyway.
Speaker 2 (01:24):
Look, you know who doesn't like to blaze one up whatever, But.
Speaker 5 (01:28):
As far as uh, as far as things that that
are blazed up, I think we need to blaze up
a couple of my tweets when I, uh, I was,
I was sitting here pumping I'm a boy de von Valet, who,
by the way, I still you know, the Broncos did have.
Speaker 1 (01:42):
Big plans for he was a starting wide receiver here.
They were not shopping him any of those things. But
team comes along and offers more draft compensation than George
Pickens got in trade, than than Devanta Adams got in
trade a couple of years ago. You gotta take that
for your third string wider, sorry, your third ride receiver.
Speaker 3 (01:56):
Brother.
Speaker 4 (01:58):
Yeah, man, Like, look when I saw the like all
the reports about Uh, you know, Minnesota is looking for
wide receiver. San fran is looking for wide receivers. My
first thought, honestly was like, man, I think Bala might
get moved here, because you know, it really was kind
of a question mark, right, and like I I'm right
(02:19):
there with you. I think going into this offseason and
into training camp, Uh, Ballet was most.
Speaker 6 (02:25):
Definitely going to be a guy who's going to be
a big.
Speaker 4 (02:27):
Contributor on the team. I really liked his role last year.
I thought there was a lot to like with him.
Speaker 7 (02:32):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (02:33):
Being an older prospect kind of worked in his favor.
And you know, he's a consummate professional, worked his ass
off in training camp last year and definitely earned his
spot being a seventh round guy. And you know, when
when teams get desperate, teams, the teams are going to
throw some picks and that's just you know, in the
works in the Uh. You know, it's a deal that
(02:56):
you can't really refuse. So you know, I'm I'm happy
for him that he's gonna go to a place where
he's gonna get good snapped. But with Troy Franklin coming
in and putting in the work that he needed to,
that's That's the big thing is like he needed to
improve this offseason and he definitely did. They bring in
(03:16):
Pat bryan I think the Pat Bryant selection, the court extension,
the development of Troy Franklin, kind of just the writing
was on the wall. And when a team comes around
and throws a nice little pick in there for a
seventh round pick. We turned a seventh round pick into
a fourth.
Speaker 6 (03:35):
And a seventh, Hey, that's just good business.
Speaker 4 (03:37):
So happy for DeVaughn. I'm going to be rooting for
him in New Orleans, and you know, I hope he
gets a lot of good balls from you know, either
and for Rattler or Tyler Schuck. But you know they're
gonna be older guys still new in the league, so
it's gonna be a fun time to watch them.
Speaker 8 (03:57):
So now that weekend finally close the chap on Devon
Vley and the biggest fan club here to my right,
and Benjamin Albright, let's talk about another guy who I
was talking about, And you have brought up yourself and
and Troy Franklin.
Speaker 3 (04:11):
Now that you've you've.
Speaker 8 (04:13):
Kind of removed Ale from the offense, I mean, past
receptions and targets are going to be a premium. I
think that Evan Ingram is going to eat into that.
But what is the ceiling right now now that this
move has been made in your opinion, for a guy
like Troy Franklin, Well.
Speaker 4 (04:30):
I think it's I think the ceiling is to kind
of get him more involved. You know, I was I
was talking with.
Speaker 6 (04:36):
Three mass about this the other day, and you.
Speaker 4 (04:40):
Know, I think that Troy Franklin can be like the
better version of Gabe Davis when Gabe Davis was in Buffalo,
Like guy who's gonna get you know, he's a little bigger,
like bigger frame, definitely put on wait this offseason, but
like can definitely still stretch the field downfield. We're gonna
take those downfield shots. I'm thinking, like like Ted Ginn
(05:04):
when he was in New Orleans, right, they just they
just put him out there. Brandon Cooks another guy that
they just they had him stretch the field. But what
I think they really need to get Troy going with
is more of the RPO stuff if they were running
last year. I watched back the first two pre season
(05:25):
games and this guy's route running has just gone to
a completely different level. And it's not even when he's
getting the ball. It's like he is opening things up
for other people in this offense. And I think Sean
has big plan for him, especially seeing the growth and
the development he's catching balls over the middle. Now, Like
(05:47):
I think the ceiling has to be you know, and
I hate using wide receiver number because I just can't
stand it. That's not realistic by my standpoint. But like,
like makes him a seventy to eighty target a year guy.
Get him those those deep shots, Let's hit the home
(06:07):
run plays with him, Like we've got.
Speaker 6 (06:08):
Two guys now that can do that.
Speaker 4 (06:10):
But I think he's he's still going to be a guy,
Like if they want to run RPO slant RPO hitches
on the backside, I think he's going.
Speaker 6 (06:17):
To be a really good guy for that.
Speaker 4 (06:19):
I would love to see him get the ball in space.
I just want to see what he can do and
I really want to see him evolved. So it's hard
to like pinpoint, you know, what exactly is his ceiling
going to be. But I think that you know, seventy
to eighty target range is probably a good good place
for him.
Speaker 1 (06:34):
Probably with Patrick Keyoti and Patrick Keyoti on Twitter, as
we look at the.
Speaker 2 (06:41):
The rest of this offense.
Speaker 1 (06:44):
The big question a lot of people are saying, is Okay,
who's going to get the lion's share and vulture up?
Speaker 2 (06:48):
What would have been the targets for a guy like Fila.
Speaker 1 (06:51):
I don't think it's necessarily Pat Bryant and Troy Franklin,
they'll be in the rotation, but I think the lion's
share of that is going to have an ingram.
Speaker 4 (07:00):
Yeah, I would agree with that, And I think, like
you know, just from the Arizona game, like giving that
one look to him where he gets to that big painter,
I think we're gonna see a lot of that. And
I've talked about it Agnauseium.
Speaker 6 (07:14):
Like when Sean Payton has a.
Speaker 4 (07:17):
Guy who is a technically a tight end who is
more of a receiver threat, they ain't get a larger
share of the targets historically in his offense, guys like
Jeremy Shockey. Even you can go back to Jason Witten.
When Jason Witten.
Speaker 6 (07:32):
Started with the Cowboy, Sean Payton.
Speaker 4 (07:34):
Was still there and they got Jason Witten quite a
few targets. When he has a tight end who is
a legitimate receiver threat, the average target share is like
between twenty four and twenty six percent. Obviously if that
number is kind of inflated from the Jimmy Graham years,
but that's kind of where it stands. So I think
you're right on the path there, Evan. Ingram's gonna get
(07:56):
a lot.
Speaker 6 (07:56):
Of those quick outs. I'm sure we would love to
get that.
Speaker 4 (08:00):
Running stick efficiently, something that Russell Wilson kind of struggled
with at times, but something where a guy like em
and Ingram can really flourish. Get him the ball, let
him create some yackyards and.
Speaker 6 (08:14):
Flourish, like the more weapons that we.
Speaker 4 (08:16):
Have in that spot, the better. It's something that has
been sorely missed in this offense the past two years.
So I'm excited to see what Ingram can bring. But
I think you're right those those targets at Vala was
probably gonna get I would say maybe seventy to seventy
seventy five percent of them.
Speaker 6 (08:32):
We're going to go to England.
Speaker 8 (08:34):
I'm glad you're talking about em and Ingram and targers
to that tight end room because what I said to
Ben before you jumped on, when we look at Michael Burton,
we look at Nate Atkins, these two guys, are you know,
ah backs or fullbacks however you want to categorize them.
But I just felt that maybe the Broncos could be
more leaner and aerodynamic from a passing standpoint if you
(08:57):
were to alleviate Nate Atkins and Michael from the offense
and put more tight end like speedier tight ends in
in that position. Now, would you agree with that assessment
or would you do you have a counter to that?
Speaker 4 (09:13):
Nick, I am the wrong person to ask that question, too, Okay,
I am the I am the head of the Michael
Burton fan club. Like I am, like, we need more fullback,
We need the fullback back. That is a position that
has been sorely missed.
Speaker 6 (09:30):
That No, no, it's not, it's not it's coming back.
Speaker 2 (09:36):
Dick is just mad.
Speaker 1 (09:39):
He played in the era of Lorenzo O'Neill and Tony
Richardson's coming around the corner and he was like, whoa
right now?
Speaker 4 (09:48):
No, I look, I think what having a good fullback
does is it makes defenses stay honest, right, like when
you have when you have a fullback that.
Speaker 6 (09:59):
Is really really good in the run game and and.
Speaker 4 (10:02):
Helps you in play action. I think like you're forcing
defenses to kind of stay it in those in those
personnel groupings. And it's like, I know Mario Batanzi wants
Nate Adkins to.
Speaker 6 (10:14):
Take over for Mike Burton, but like.
Speaker 2 (10:16):
Why not both?
Speaker 4 (10:17):
Why not have both of them on the show? Yes, yes, yes,
I'm sorry, I'm not I'm not gonna take Nate Adkins
out and put Lucas Croll in and and and you know,
try to sell a run play to defense.
Speaker 6 (10:31):
They're not gonna buy that one second.
Speaker 4 (10:33):
But like I think for the run game specifically, if
we want, uh, if we want this run game to evolve,
Michael Burton has been fantastic, Like he's been so good
in the blocking game, and I don't think he gets
enough credit. Uh it's probably one of the better pass
pro guys too in that back room, and he's just
like we gotta have these special team DA he's as
(10:57):
well the guys.
Speaker 7 (10:58):
He's special teams of ACE in the same sentence with
Michael Burton, Yes, yes, Look.
Speaker 4 (11:09):
I don't think as as of right now, there is
not anyone on this roster that I would like to
humanly be like, yeah, like we don't need to have a.
Speaker 6 (11:20):
Fullback because we have this guy.
Speaker 4 (11:22):
Like if if there was someone else, if we got
if we got Kenyan Zadek from Oregon in the draft
next year, I would be like, Okay, maybe we don't
need a full back and we can just keep Nate
Adkins and he can play that h back role, right
because I think he'd be really good at it. But
right now we need a full back because we need
(11:43):
to keep this run game on it. We need to
get it back on track. I think I think it
will get back on track with with Dobbinson Harvey, but
Michael Burton's a big part of that, and Nate Adkins
is a big part of that. And we still need
those guys to keep keep defenses honest and in the
play action game, man, they do a really good job.
So I'm sorry, Nick again, I'm the wrong person ask
(12:05):
that question.
Speaker 3 (12:05):
All right, right, let let me push back on that
just a little bit.
Speaker 4 (12:08):
Now.
Speaker 8 (12:09):
Once in San Francisco there was a guy by the
name of kyle's Yuschek. Now, Kyle is more of a
tight end than a fullback. But we've seen Kyle Shenahan
utilize and deploy you Schek in the offense where he's
great blocking, he's great.
Speaker 3 (12:25):
Out in passing.
Speaker 8 (12:26):
So I'm all I'm saying is that I don't have
anything against Nate Atkins or you know, Michael Burton. I'm
just looking for the offense to be to trim the fat,
to be a little more aerodynamic.
Speaker 3 (12:36):
That's all.
Speaker 4 (12:38):
Sure, Yeah, absolutely, And I think that's where, like you know,
after this season, if they want to keep someone in
that role but not have it and not have it
be like designated fullback, I think Nate Atkins is the
perfect type of player for that role. It's just about,
you know, it's they got to get better, and honestly,
(12:59):
in the tight end room, they need better personnel in there.
I'm not entirely sold on the group still, even with
Blowner in there, like I'm not, I'm not bought in
on it.
Speaker 6 (13:11):
So until they until they beef.
Speaker 4 (13:12):
Up that room, I'm still gonna.
Speaker 6 (13:14):
Be uh waving my Michael Burton flag.
Speaker 4 (13:19):
On game days and drawing up strong eye tower with
Michael Burton leading the way.
Speaker 1 (13:25):
Well, I'm looking over the roster and reading back your
quote here where you said there's nobody on this roster
that that makes Michael Burton expendable. So I am I
am texting Sewn and George Right now, I'm telling them
that Patrick Keyoti says you can go and dump R. J.
Speaker 4 (13:38):
Harvey.
Speaker 2 (13:38):
We got to keep Michael Burton.
Speaker 4 (13:42):
Wait wait wait wait wait wait that's Mario Vitanzi also said,
maybe are guests to make loose the fullback, keep him
around as a fullback. I don't know if that works.
Speaker 2 (13:54):
I don't think he's going to be on this roster
come Monday, but we'll see. Patrick. We we appreciate.
Speaker 6 (13:58):
The time as always, budd Hey, thank you so much.
Speaker 4 (14:01):
Then don't be afraid to come out here.
Speaker 2 (14:03):
Man, I got it.
Speaker 4 (14:03):
I got some gummies waiting for you.
Speaker 1 (14:06):
All right, well, we'll work something out. I gotta get
out there, and you need a cannonball. I love some
clam showder and any of those canniball clam showders out there.
Speaker 2 (14:11):
You guys are famous for.
Speaker 6 (14:13):
Hey, buddy, anytime you just let me know, I will do.
Speaker 2 (14:16):
Patrick Coyote, let's talk Broncos.
Speaker 1 (14:18):
Always love having him on podcast, partner to our good
friend Mario Vatanzy.
Speaker 6 (14:22):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (14:23):
They sometimes affectionately are known as the Bicep Bros.
Speaker 2 (14:25):
It's weird. Uh, it's weird for me to.
Speaker 1 (14:27):
Say that we got to hit a break, we come back,
the NFL six back right here on Brooks Country tonight.
Speaker 2 (14:38):
Five six six nine zeros text line.
Speaker 3 (14:39):
You guys want to.
Speaker 2 (14:40):
Get involved in the conversation.

granted podcast.
Speaker 2 (15:02):
Now, that's what we're gonna do from now on. Uh,
without further ado, let's get the NFL six pack. It's
time for the NFL six pack.
Speaker 4 (15:09):
I'm gonna take a last year and inside information you
can't find anywhere else.
Speaker 2 (15:16):
The top six NFL.
Speaker 3 (15:17):
Headline What.
Speaker 9 (15:21):
Starting off here with the Cleveland Browns. They've announced that
Joe Flacco will be starting their first preseason game and
will be followed by Dylan Gabriel, who will then be
followed by Shador Sanders. Canny Pia will not be playing
in the game. As he's still dealing with his lingering
hamstring injury. Who of the three playing Joe Flacco, Dylan Gabriel,
(15:43):
and Shador Sanders, do you think we'll have the best
performance and how soon do you think until Schador starts
for the Browns this season if at all?
Speaker 2 (15:52):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (15:52):
Well, I think Joe Flacco will have the least best
performance because we'll only play a few snaps.
Speaker 2 (15:58):
Dylan Gabriel and Shudor Sanders will probably the bulk of
the game.
Speaker 1 (16:00):
I would say Shaudor probably gets the entire second half.
Maybe that seems like that seems like the case. So
if he's gonna get the entire second half, he's gonna
have more opportunity to put up numbers. So I'm gonna
go with Shador having the best statistical day out of
the three overall, even.
Speaker 8 (16:16):
Though we've seen in the Caroline game against Carolina Shador
come out and play well. For me, I don't like
this particular setup. I knew it was coming, but you're
putting Shador in another tough situation where he has been criticized.
Even though you play better in the preseason against Carolina
opposed to a guy like Dylan Gabriel. I don't like
(16:40):
the setup, but we all knew that Joe Flacco was
gonna end up being the starter. I mean, he's the
eldest out statesman. They feel confident with him. But I
personally don't like the way that Shador is being treated
by the Browns.
Speaker 3 (16:53):
But also about some national analysts.
Speaker 1 (16:56):
Yes, just me, we saw that Eric Dickerson Stuff'll have
to get into that, probably bar or something.
Speaker 3 (17:00):
Yeah, you should have gotten into that today.
Speaker 9 (17:02):
I'm surprised he's still quarterback three for the rounds or
quarterback four, depending on where you know. Kenny Pickett falls
into everything. Gabriel had a worst preseason performance. It seemed
to be at least.
Speaker 2 (17:12):
Yeah, I don't think Kenny Picket will be there on Monday.
Speaker 3 (17:14):
I don't think two.
Speaker 9 (17:20):
Greg Dolcich has now snagged multiple touchdown receptions during this
year's preseason, with both coming from Jackson Dart. The second
of those Greg Dolcich touchdowns came tonight. Dart also has
torn up the preseason. He's completed eighty percent of his
passes when you adjust for drops and throwaways. Do you
(17:40):
think Greg Dolsch and Jackson Dart will be major contributors
for the Giants offense this year, And when do you
think Dart takes over for Russell Wilson, If at all
this season, if they lose.
Speaker 1 (17:52):
A bunch of games, I think they'll let the early
part of the schedule because it's pretty brutal play out
for Russ and then go from there. The Giants interestingly
become a who's who, a former Broncos, little Jordan Humphrey
over there, you got Greg dulceh Montreal Washington.
Speaker 9 (18:06):
Having a great preseason. By the way, Montreal Washington might
get a roster.
Speaker 2 (18:10):
I'm saying he's followed right now.
Speaker 1 (18:11):
Of all of all people, I'll still remember I still
never forget calling him out when he was at camp
because I could tell if it was a run play
or a pass play, because he would leave his mouth
guard in if.
Speaker 2 (18:19):
He didn't have to block they put up in his helmet.
Speaker 3 (18:23):
That was mouth guard trail.
Speaker 2 (18:24):
Yeah, it was b Ryan, I think Parker Gabriel and
Jordan Beezey.
Speaker 1 (18:28):
I was like, he's gotta tell, I can tell every
time it's gonna be a run play because he did
take his mouth guard put it up here, and he's
sure enough he did and Beasley was like, there's no way,
There's no way, and then he did it like he's like,
all right, I gotta go.
Speaker 2 (18:37):
Touch to coach. I remember that day.
Speaker 8 (18:40):
Well, you know what, I'm actually rooting for all those
guys and that and with the Giants because sometimes you
don't get a second chance, and all of these guys
getting second and some even third chances. And Greg Dosage
I was really high with him coming out of UCLA.
The injuries kind of derailled what he could actually be.
I understand that the Broncos moved on because it's hard
(19:02):
to really see what your investment is bringing in if
a guy's not on the field, but two touchdowns, that
tells you what he's capable of doing when he's healthy.
And you have to wonder, now, as the season goes on,
if Greg Dosage plays well, will we get into a
back and forth conversation Greg Dosage versus the production of
(19:23):
ev Ingram, who once played with the New York Giants.
Speaker 3 (19:27):
That'll be an interesting conversation.
Speaker 9 (19:31):
Or Hellen Moore told the media this week that Spencer
Ratler will start the Saints preseason game against the Denver
Broncos and will be followed Oh shoot. Sorry, We'll be
followed by Ricky Tyler Shug but that has sorry, but
that he has yet to decide a winner in the
quarterback competition. Who do you think wins that competition? And
(19:53):
would it makes the Saints selection of Tyler's shug of
its take if Rayler holds him off.
Speaker 2 (19:58):
Well, yeah, Rattler starting.
Speaker 1 (20:01):
I think he's got the inside track from Ay, I've
talked to you down there.
Speaker 2 (20:05):
So I think that's that's the direction you probably have
to go.
Speaker 1 (20:08):
I think you could always pivot to Tyler Shock at
any point if you feel like he's finally got it.
Speaker 2 (20:12):
There's no need to go to him early.
Speaker 1 (20:14):
This team is going to be bad, which is why
it was weird when they traded all that draft capital
for Devon Delay.
Speaker 2 (20:20):
When you know you have nobody to you know, throw
the ball.
Speaker 1 (20:23):
Might finish the season with one hundred and ten targets
and three receptions that were in the immediate vicinity.
Speaker 2 (20:29):
When all said and done, it makes.
Speaker 8 (20:31):
You wonder what's going on in that front office and
how are they thinking about this team, Because if you
know that, you know where you need to be at
the quarterback position, or even just from your regular given personnel.
You say that draft capital to make your team better,
even if that means that he's quarterback. Tyler shuk Fort
(20:52):
Smithson Rattler's struggle. To me, you don't give up those picks,
but they are where they are now, and we're just
gonna have to see how this whole thing pans out.
But I will give the opportunity to seize the job
and have the job for an extended period of time
this season, poor.
Speaker 3 (21:10):
You try that.
Speaker 9 (21:12):
Washington Commander's running back Brian Robinson Junior is reportedly on
the trade block after Chris Rodriguez and Jacory krossky Merritts
aka Bill I've had strong preseasons. Where do you think
Robinson Junior will land? And who do you think will
become Washington's lead back this season? I don't think anybody's
gonna trade for him. They've been shopping in pretty hard.
Speaker 1 (21:30):
Brian Robinson probably gonna be cut after this week, and
then you start to look at running back needy teams.
I would suggest either the Browns or the Dolphins or
probably the leaders in the clubhouse for him, just based
on the offense as they run, what he brings to
the table and what they need. I'm trying to think
of anybody else that pops out of me. I can't
think of anybody off the top my head. But those two,
the Browns and the Dolphins, for Brian Robinson Junior probably
(21:50):
probably jump out at me as the favorites.
Speaker 8 (21:52):
Well, I belie, even even though Johndan Taylor is their
lead back with the Colts, I would say, look, I mean,
you still need a one two punch because it's about
having complimentary pieces, and because if you have two guys
that can run the ball, run the ball effective, and
catch the ball out of the backfield, that's going to
bowl well for Daniel Jones, who's been named the starter.
(22:13):
So I would look there, and then you don't have
to worry about a guy being in the same division
or the same conference because he's somewhere else.
Speaker 9 (22:21):
The Dolphins and forty nine ers are among some of
the Texans as well, are among some of the teams connected.
Speaker 2 (22:28):
Do any of those jump out to he was ideal? Wait, well,
the Dolphins already said Dolphins. Brown's probably to make it.
Speaker 3 (22:33):
Texans are already good.
Speaker 9 (22:34):
Yeah, they got doesn't Joe Mixon have some weird nebulous
injury situation?
Speaker 6 (22:39):
Going on.
Speaker 2 (22:40):
It seems I don't know it's there, but I mean,
they have not been active in looking for anybody so far.
Speaker 1 (22:46):
Nick Chubb apparently has looked all right behind him and
they got Damian Pearce and what's that dari Ogovian Walley act.
Speaker 8 (22:54):
If it was another place besides the Colts, I would
think that it would be San Francisco.
Speaker 2 (23:00):
That makes sense.
Speaker 3 (23:01):
They need the bodies right now. Yeah, I mean, I
guess they do.
Speaker 2 (23:03):
Miami does too, though. I mean that's the reason I
keep saying that.
Speaker 3 (23:06):
All about it.
Speaker 8 (23:06):
Both the forty nine ers and the Dolphins kneed running
backs and they run the same system.
Speaker 9 (23:12):
I would like the Dolphins for Robinson aging's been so productive.
There are a lot of running backs have been sup
productive there, but they just can't stay healthy.
Speaker 2 (23:18):
Could be a good opportunity for Robinson, I had, I
could five.
Speaker 9 (23:24):
Jerry Jones claims that he offered to make Micah Parsons
the league's highest paid non quarterback, but when they went
to send his agent the paperwork, they were told to
quote shove it up their ass.
Speaker 2 (23:35):
Do you believe Jerry Jones?
Speaker 9 (23:37):
And when do you think Parsons will either be extended
or traded and do you think he will be extended
or traded which one of those two.
Speaker 1 (23:45):
I believe he'll be extended. I believe Dallas will pay
a premium to do it. I don't believe Jerry with
that exact quote. I do believe that his agent told
him to stop it, in the sense that the offer
that that they put in front of them had very
little in terms of guarantee.
Speaker 8 (24:00):
Like it was.
Speaker 2 (24:00):
It looked like it was funny money.
Speaker 1 (24:02):
It looked like a big contract on paper, but they
get off mondered in two years with very little and guarantees.
Michael Parsons is doing it right by not doing a
backdoor deal with with Jerry Jones. Let his agent handle it.
He's got one of the best agents in the business.
But Dallas shoots themselves in the foot every time. They
wait till forever, and they shoot themselves in the foot
every time, and they're going to wind up paying.
Speaker 2 (24:19):
More to do it.
Speaker 3 (24:20):
This is typical of Jerry Jones.
Speaker 8 (24:23):
And let's just say that Michael Parson's agent did say
shove it for the sake of it. I'm sure that
Jerry Jones is told other people to do it. And
I just hey, and now it's coming back around to him.
Speaker 3 (24:35):
Well, and I'm not.
Speaker 9 (24:36):
Familiar with the agent cut on these things, but it's
like like three five percent somewhere in there.
Speaker 2 (24:41):
Three percent max.
Speaker 1 (24:42):
Actually the NFL caps and agent's fee at three percent
of contract value maximum.
Speaker 9 (24:45):
Okay, even that to three percent whatever it is of
forty one million dollars, that's a pretty sweet payday for
David Mulligeta, Mike cap Parsons agent, and Jerry Jones initially
in the negotiats negotiations tried to cut Mulligeta out of it.
If this story is true, I think it reflects Hey, Jerry,
you kind of screwed up that relationship by trying to
(25:06):
cut him out of the negotiation and then pretending like
you didn't know who he was when he's like the
biggest agent in the game right.
Speaker 8 (25:13):
Now, mother getta. What he's trying to do is what
you're supposed to do as an agent. Work for your client,
get him the most money. Yes, it's three percent that
agents received, but his job is to get micahd most
money because if he does, that money is going to
come in because the other guys are gonna see that
he got this.
Speaker 3 (25:31):
Deal from Micah, So once again, Jerry's been in his position.
Speaker 8 (25:35):
Jerry's gonna cave it in right before the season, because,
if I'm not mistaken, Dallas's first game is against Philadelphia.
Speaker 1 (25:41):
Is it not?
Speaker 9 (25:43):
And it is that Thursday season opener. I think we
might get news about an extension that Wednesday or.
Speaker 1 (25:49):
Now even I getting maybe an hour before kickoff. And
just like the was the des Bryant deal one hour
before deadline this last year or two whenever that was.
That was like a day before their Sunday night football
game the day of yeah, ceedee lamb deal. Dallas has
a history wait until the absolute last minute just shooting
themselves in the foot and pay.
Speaker 3 (26:06):
Him to do it. Six.
Speaker 9 (26:11):
Dion Sanders addressed the team with classes starting tomorrow at CU.
Speaker 2 (26:17):
Here's what he had to say.
Speaker 1 (26:23):
The audio is not playing in here. I can tell
why you're looking there that it's playing in there, but
the audio is not playing in here.
Speaker 2 (26:30):
I was like, Wow, the had nothing. We try that again,
trying to get start school, win win ben tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (26:40):
No slides. If I see you with I'm gonna send
people to campus tomorrow. If I see you with slides
on campus, it's gonna be a problem. If I see
you with a hoodie on in.
Speaker 2 (26:49):
Class, some headballs on in class, it's gonna.
Speaker 3 (26:51):
Be a problem.
Speaker 2 (26:53):
If I see you sit in the back of the classroom,
is gonna be a problem.
Speaker 3 (26:57):
Do we understand that?
Speaker 2 (26:59):
And in your own you have online classes and.
Speaker 3 (27:02):
You don't have a shirt on or you got a
white beat on them.
Speaker 2 (27:05):
You can have some stupid all that causes distraction. You know,
you walk around.
Speaker 3 (27:09):
Doing that online session, he's gonna be a problem.
Speaker 2 (27:11):
We go today, guys, it goes. Ron called it the
white feeder man.
Speaker 8 (27:17):
Wow.
Speaker 9 (27:18):
What do you guys think about Prime's code of conduct
that he just laid out to the players there? Do
you think it's a little ridiculous or just kind of
the baseline standard that is necessary nowadays. I, on the
one hand, it's ridiculous.
Speaker 1 (27:31):
On the other hand, it's you set the standard where
you said it. I mean, it's the thing he's demanding.
You know, he's setting the standard. We're gonna look professional,
We're gonna be professional. And I sort of get that.
Speaker 2 (27:39):
I mean I get that.
Speaker 1 (27:40):
You know, when I was in the Army, you had
to you had certain standards for things like that. It
sounded stupid we got to wear this thing. We're doing this,
and but it's about setting good habits. I'm not gonna
cut corners. I'm gonna get up every day doing the
right thing, putting the right clothes on, being a professional,
acting like it.
Speaker 2 (27:54):
And you know how the what's the what's the old saying?
It's not fake sating making, but be no do or
whatever it is you rest for the tribe want keep
doing things for what you want and that will manifest itself.
Speaker 8 (28:05):
I'm not mad at Prime saying this. I mean, as
an athlete, you should know how people envision you. And
I can go back from my own personal experience. There
are athletes sitting in the back of the room. There
were athletes coming in late. There were athletes with hoods on.
So everything he's telling them is exactly what he himself
(28:26):
has experienced at some point at Florida City, right.
Speaker 1 (28:30):
But I mean it's just like there's I'm torn because
lazy meat would absolutely love to come in slides on.
He sits back twenty minutes late, He's like, yo, I
got this, and then you know, professional me is not
like I've lived long enough that I understand what he's
trying to do.
Speaker 2 (28:42):
Like he's trying to do that.
Speaker 3 (28:45):
That's growth.
Speaker 1 (28:46):
He's trying to create good habits and your man it
may or may not have had those habits and graining them,
you know, along the way.
Speaker 2 (28:52):
So I get that, I get.
Speaker 1 (28:53):
We'll say it's ridiculous that we have to do that
because it may not have been taught at some point.
Speaker 2 (28:57):
But at the same time, it's a good thing.
Speaker 1 (29:00):
Set the standard high, set the standard of excellence, and
and then you say, all right, look this is the
standard and we're gonna you know, you either meet it.
Speaker 2 (29:06):
We thank you Kyl for trying to.
Speaker 8 (29:08):
When probably first came, he talked about, you know, bringing
his Lowis luggage and trying to be a leader of
men and raising his players to be.
Speaker 3 (29:18):
Just that man, even if they don't all make it
to the league. But this is this is part of it.
Because the spotlight is on this team, The spotlight is
on him.
Speaker 8 (29:27):
Anything that his players do, now that's going to be
you live and some kind of narrative against all this
was the coast prim Is is coaching allowing at his
cool how much you think is the old We can't
slip even for one second because of that.
Speaker 3 (29:42):
Oh absolutely, it's the thing, right.
Speaker 1 (29:44):
I mean, I think you're waiting with TMZ with the
camera around the corner, with your role in the.
Speaker 3 (29:50):
Back.
Speaker 8 (29:51):
Travis Hunts is down in Jacksonville, did not hear anything
negative about him, So Doris Sanders is in Cleveland.
Speaker 3 (29:57):
It's always in the media no matter what he does.
Speaker 8 (30:00):
So it's coach Prime is being measured by that of
his players, which a lot of coaches, most.
Speaker 3 (30:06):
Coaches are, but Prime in Colorado is probably.
Speaker 8 (30:10):
The most scrutinized team. It will be the most scrutinized
team this season.
Speaker 2 (30:16):
Yeah, and will continue to be and Ice will continue
to be on them.
Speaker 3 (30:19):
I get it.
Speaker 1 (30:19):
Yeah, It's just one of those things where we talked
about it Sean Payton. It's the exact same thing where
I say, look shut the standard at excellence, right and
tell everybody this is the standard, and you try to
meet it. And if you can't meet it, well, thank
you Colin for trying to find people who can.
Speaker 3 (30:31):
Do you think that's not the norm?
Speaker 9 (30:34):
I guess I should say among college coaches to kind
of set that standard with their players. Or do you
think the Prime's being a little old school with that expectation.
Speaker 8 (30:45):
I mean, it's both, right, yeah, it's a little both. Yeah,
and there's nothing wrong with it to me. You want
to make sure you go out and you establish what
your standard is so that way, if the players violate it,
you've already had that conversation about it.
Speaker 2 (31:03):
Yeah. I mean the end of the day, there are
some coaches out there that are very strict with all that.
I mean, you gotta wear a tie at all the time,
you know. And there are some coaches that don't care,
like they don't you know, they don't.
Speaker 1 (31:14):
And I think you find that the ones that have
those higher standards tend to in most cases win more.
Speaker 2 (31:22):
That's an attention to detail thing.
Speaker 8 (31:23):
Well, that's certain coaches who don't even want you to
have face, you hair?
Speaker 3 (31:26):
Yeah about that?
Speaker 2 (31:27):
Yeah you got she thought about one plant for him. Yeah,
and he was like, you weren't invited?
Speaker 3 (31:31):
Well what you you not gonna play.
Speaker 2 (31:35):
Anyway? Sneaky fast Broccos country that I rolls on after
this
