Speaker 1 (00:00):
That's Smith here with five six sixty nine zero is
the text line. A lot of news today, obviously the
Michael Parsons Trade News dominated the headlines late this afternoon,
but earlier in the day, and we were talking about
this a little bit. In the last segment was this
Jim Mersey stuff that leaked out claiming that ursay aknown

(00:21):
addict had relapsed and that the addiction specialist with whom
he was working was secretly prescribing him and over prescribing
him opioids and ketamine in the months before his death.

Speaker 2 (00:39):
I don't know, I guess when I first saw this.

Speaker 1 (00:43):
I'm like, man, this stuff doesn't need to be public
knowledge like this, this doesn't need to be public knowledge.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
But I guess I understand this.

Speaker 1 (00:52):
Fans have a vested interest in their their football team.

Speaker 2 (00:55):
They buy merchandise.

Speaker 1 (00:57):
They kind of want to know that the ownership in
the direction of the team, you know, is uh, it's
going in.

Speaker 2 (01:03):
The right direction.

Speaker 1 (01:06):
I hope there's an investigation into this and if this
particular addiction specialist was doing something untoward, that he's charged
for anything that he did wrong, you know, and er say,
who was who was open about his battles with addiction
and mental health.

Speaker 2 (01:26):
Uh, certainly he didn't try to hide that.

Speaker 1 (01:29):
But you know in these in this explosive report from
Washington Post talks about cover up from.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
Colts executives and all that kind of stuff.

Speaker 1 (01:44):
I Nick, I, I mean, do you do we have
as fans, as media, do we have.

Speaker 2 (01:49):
A right to know this? Do we need to know
any of this? Is any of this relevant?

Speaker 3 (01:54):
I'm gonna say yes, And I'm gonna say yes for
this particular reason because.

Speaker 4 (01:58):
It is sports related as the NFL owner, and because
we constantly hear of the mistakes and they are balloon
when we're talking about players, right, you really don't hear
things as we're hearing now in this case with Jim
Ers everything about players, but the owners are not off limits.

(02:23):
Now we do know the owners have you know, they're
strong in how united they are and they keep things
close to the chest. Just if you want to want
further evidence, look at the Danies Snyder thing. The situation like,
how can you investigate the commanders? Bruce Allen is there,

(02:45):
but there's emails that are gone back before Bruce Allen
and John Gruden.

Speaker 3 (02:49):
But you only give us John Gruden Yeah, what.

Speaker 1 (02:52):
John has won the right to get discovered from the NFL.
We could probably see some explosive emails once that goes through.

Speaker 3 (02:58):
Right, so all of this says par for the course.

Speaker 4 (03:01):
Now, someone say, well, this is personal information that should
be left to the Arthsta family, but no, you operating.

Speaker 3 (03:09):
You live in the world of sports.

Speaker 4 (03:10):
And oh, by the way, it's relevant news because several
years ago, like I mentioned before, you had the same
owner who was pulled over and you have I legal
I guess oxycon. You don't have a prescription for it
in your bag with fifty thousan dollars in cash. I mean,
you made this news and to hear that, okay, maybe

(03:33):
there was this doctor who was facilitating this, and I
know there was concerns from within the Coast organization by
certain family members about what was going on, and it
just reminds me of kind of what happened to Michael
Jackson and Matthew Perry. Right, That's the first thing that
came to mind, is like, when you know something, say something,
and you see someone struggling, Obviously he was someone's got

(03:57):
to step up because if not, you're aiding in the bedding.

Speaker 1 (03:59):
Yeah, there's too often today where we all sit around said,
well that's somebody else's problem, somebody else will deal with.
Now be the leader, step up and step up and
pointed out because somebody's life could be on the line.
Ursay allegedly had three overdoses over the of course the
last five years of his life, one reportedly occurring in
Viber of twenty twenty, the other two reportedly occurring in
December twenty twenty three, and we're just twelve days apart.

(04:20):
Ers's twenty twenty overdose reportedly occurred in his vacationing in
the Turks and Caicos spent multiple days in the hospital.
The Cults public did not publicly acknowledge the alleged overdose
at the time. Ursy's alleged first overdose in December of
twenty twenty three, accort his home in Indianapolis, Colts executive
called nine to one one mentioned Ers may have been
dealing with heart failure, did not mention pills or drug

(04:40):
use in the call, and days before his second overdose
in December twenty twenty three, Ursay reportedly fired one of
his nurses, who Ursay accused of hiding his pills. The
nurse admitted to placing his pills in a lock box
because he was taking his medication too frequently, is what
she told police.

Speaker 2 (04:55):
At the time.

Speaker 1 (04:57):
Coles claimed for Ersay was dealing with a severe respiratory illness.
Ersay later said he was hospitalized due to back surgery.
But the prominent figure here is addiction specialist Harry Huotanian,
who treated Ursay in the final years of his life.
The Post spoke to multiple individuals who alleged that he
supplied or Say with opioid pills and ketamine in the
months before his death. The Post viewed images of pill bottles,

(05:20):
reportedly showing that Harotanian prescribed to more than two hundred
pills just days before his overdoses back in twenty twenty three.
He also allegedly began treating Ersae with ketmine during the
final months of his life. According to multiple sources, ketamine,
which is an anesthetic that is riskier to administer to
patients with substance abuse disorders and heart conditions.

Speaker 2 (05:39):
In addition to.

Speaker 1 (05:40):
His struggles with addiction, Ersay also reportedly had a heart issue.
He obviously died in May, and Harotani was reportedly staying
with Ursay and overseeing his care signed his death certificate
as stated that he died of cardiac arrests due to
ammonia and heart issues. The autopsy and toxicology report were
not performed as his death was not viewed as sudden
violent order unexpected. Police who responded so they do not

(06:02):
see evidence of an overdose or drug use, although if
he was staying there he could have cleaned it up.
Teddy reportedly told officers Orsay's cause of death was natural.
He confirmed he treated him for over a year when
contacted by the Post, but declined to come in on
any other portion.

Speaker 3 (06:16):
Of the reporters man ten four hot theory.

Speaker 4 (06:19):
But I've seen a lot of movies where they say
people died of natural causes, and usually heart attack is
one of those things. And when you have had excessive
use of drugs of any sore that impacts your heart,
I mean, when you talk about heart attacks and cardiovascular issues,
that's a big thing. And as you were reading that,

(06:41):
immediately thought about what happened to Michael Jackson. And you
have an in house doctor prescribing things for you and
for me. In my background of where I grew up
in Miami, I grew up in a drug area so
much so I called him street pharmaceutic reps.

Speaker 2 (06:58):
Yea.

Speaker 4 (07:00):
In this case, there's no difference between those street pharmas
who the care reps and someone being a live in
I guess physician. Yeah, because you administer and drugs, you
are once again aiding in the Benanese person. Yeah, someone's
got to go stop, you know, you know what, I'm
not doing this anymore. So with this being said, I'm

(07:20):
not a legal expert, but I gotta figure that you
got to hold this doctor accountable because you were giving
him these drugs. Whether he was saying I'm paying you
half a quarter million dollars and a half a million
dollars to prescribe these drugs and give them to me
and administer to them.

Speaker 3 (07:37):
No, you were at fault. Is that not malpractice? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (07:41):
And so that's the thing.

Speaker 1 (07:42):
I think there needs to be an investigation into former
cults owner Jim.

Speaker 2 (07:46):
Mercedes, who we're talking about here.

Speaker 1 (07:47):
He's discussed his struggles or had discussed his struggles with
addiction multiple times. Back in twenty twelve, he told ESPN
he been sober for ten years. Two years later was
when he relapsed and was charged with the DWI and
the four count the four felty council possession and after
driving erradically and he was suspended and fined by the NFL.
But you know, Ersa continued to struggle with occasional relapses,
which the Colts allegedly tried to keep from the public

(08:09):
out of concern that the NFL would force him to
sell the team. So I guess that's the part where
it comes back to as far as public knowledge. You know,
Ersay was one of the guys campaigning hard for Snyder
to sell the team.

Speaker 2 (08:21):
Meanwhile, they had executives in his own.

Speaker 1 (08:23):
Organization hiding his own addiction issues to keep him from
having to sell the team.

Speaker 3 (08:27):
Well, just think about that.

Speaker 4 (08:29):
You have an NFL owner who is struggling with addiction,
and nine times out of ten we don't really hear
about the lives of owners. And this is why Roger
Goodell get paid sixty million dollars a year. So we
so most fans end up talking about him opposed to
the owners per se, and the owners they're really tight

(08:53):
lip group when it comes to keeping things close to
the chest and not allowing things to get out.

Speaker 3 (08:59):
What could you imagine the lead cracking down on.

Speaker 4 (09:02):
Players, even though I know guys now they don't get
suspended for drugs.

Speaker 3 (09:08):
They just take the money. They just keep the money.
But just think about it.

Speaker 4 (09:12):
You have an NFL owner who is struggling with drugs.
To me, that is a story because you have more
people out there who are struggling with drugs. We fitting
all is a huge issue in this country right and
it's impacting so many people. I don't care whether you are,
you know, living in the projects like I did, or

(09:34):
you are top set, the top, you're CEO. Everyone is
battling some kind of addiction and for it to be
somewhat of.

Speaker 3 (09:41):
A cover up not to let it out.

Speaker 4 (09:43):
Because the backlash or you know, making the organization look bad.

Speaker 3 (09:47):
To me, No, that's a bad thing. No, this is news.
So people out there, If you know someone who is currently.

Speaker 4 (09:53):
Struggling with drug addiction, alcohol addition and they're trying to
master there's problem that they're facing in everyday life.

Speaker 3 (10:01):
Man, you got to step them and help those people.
If you really love them, you got to step the
hell up.

Speaker 1 (10:06):
Yeah, that's and well said, and that's that's one of
those things that I think, you know, end of the day,
that's that's my biggest takeaway here is be on the
lookout for this kind of stuff, you know, be on
the lookout for that, reach out to help wherever we can.
If if we know people are suffering, you know, let's
let's create a safety net around them. Let's create a
support team around them, instead of demonizing that kind of
stuff to the point where they feel like there has
to be a giant cover up all the time to

(10:28):
you know, to hide that kind of stuff.

Speaker 4 (10:29):
So well, once again, man, it's it's up to you
as a family member, co worker, fellow owner. And I'm
not to say that some owners may have been aware
of it, may have tried. And sometimes I get he's like,
you know what, that's that's.

Speaker 3 (10:45):
Not my issue. He's a grown man, he's an owner.
Let them handle it.

Speaker 4 (10:49):
But I go back to this, if you really, true,
truly feel that someone is part of your group, the
idea is that you want to help them.

Speaker 3 (10:57):
You want to make sure that you save a life.
And to know that.

Speaker 4 (11:03):
Jim Ersay could have been saved, right, he could have
been saved. He was a loss soul, he was battling
his demons, but he could have been saved. But now
we're talking about him and past sense because he's no
longer here. So let that be a lesson to so
many people. You have the ability to change your life.

(11:23):
Whatever you're going through man fittanel opioids, whatever kind of
drugs you take into mass these things, it's not worth it.
Do you value your life and do your friends and
your family value your life as well?

Speaker 2 (11:37):
Yeah? Jim Irsay once software I entered this.

Speaker 1 (11:42):
When he did it, jim Irsay offered a BMW a
win at BMWs is in twenty twelve. He offered it,
you could win a bm if you got all thirty
two picks in the mock draft, right. He was a
first round rock draft and he's like, if you get
them all right, I will give you a BMW and
some cash.

Speaker 4 (12:00):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (12:01):
I finished in eighth place that year with really thirteen
correct selections.

Speaker 3 (12:07):
Wow, that's that's verly interesting. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (12:12):
I did not even come, but that's what I'm saying, Like,
I was one of the best ones out there in
the world.

Speaker 2 (12:16):
He had millions of entries on this thing.

Speaker 1 (12:18):
I'd have to go back and look.

Speaker 2 (12:21):
I want to say it was this guy from.

Speaker 1 (12:23):
A little known website, and I can't think of his
name to save my life right now.

Speaker 3 (12:27):
Yeah, to be by a guy from a little known website.

Speaker 2 (12:29):
He got lucky.

Speaker 1 (12:31):
What do you want me to do? He got two
more picks than I did. Correct. Yeah, I mean end
of the day, you know, But that was funny. Think
the winner had fourteen correct and he didn't win the
BMW because he can get all thirty two. I think
he wrote him like a thousan dollar check or something.
But anyway, yeah, that was that was my own really experience.
I didn't uh, you'd see er, say when you went

(12:51):
to the combine, you know, up there, because obviously up
there too you'd see you'd see him out in about
with that kind of stuff.

Speaker 2 (12:58):
But other otherwise, you know.

Speaker 1 (13:00):
Yeah, it's just sad, sad that this is coming to
light now. And it sort of looks like a situation
similar to you mentioned the Matthew Perry thing. Looks like
a situation that might be sort of similar to that.
You be careful, you put your your trust in with
some of this stuff. I want to thank Nicky Edwards
for joining us in the last hour. He missed any
part of that. You go to Broncos Country in that
Dot comp Slage podcast for real good your podcast, Apple iTunes, Spotify,

Speaker 2 (13:22):
Where they did not nail it? Or are you eating
back here?

Speaker 3 (13:36):
Someone was strangling dinosaur screech.

Speaker 5 (13:39):
Was that sometimes I was sold to use crackers? There
might have been on the weather deck with Jody George
makes it out.

Speaker 2 (13:49):
Yeah all right anyway where you cannot get the taking it.

Speaker 1 (13:52):
For granted podcast because he's selfish, you won't put new episodes.

Speaker 3 (13:55):
Out to you.

Speaker 2 (13:55):
They'll get over one hundred and eighty episodes.

raising the floor possibly for Nick Benito all that when
we come back.

Speaker 2 (14:14):
Broncos Country Night, ragro Kawa, Benjamin ol.

Speaker 1 (14:21):
Bridan, Nickferguson, grat Smith here with you. Five six six'
nine zero is the text line going right out to
THE Kwa Comms birth. Hotline i'm bringing our Guy Parker
gabriel from The Denver post At PARKER.

Speaker 2 (14:31):
J gabriel On, Twitter, parker how are you doing this?
Evening i'm doing.

Speaker 3 (14:37):
Great how are you guys?

Speaker 2 (14:37):
Doing doing pretty?

Speaker 1 (14:39):
WELL i just during the break was handed this update
That President trump is going to be deploying The National
guard out To Green bay to stop the rampant amount
of theft that's going, on particularly right around their football.
Field what did you think when you saw The micah
or As Jerry jones would pronounce, It Michael parsons trade go.

Speaker 6 (14:56):
Down, yeah probably not going To, dallas, Right that doesn't
quite the. Narrative, YEAH i mean it.

Speaker 3 (15:04):
Was it was.

Speaker 6 (15:06):
CRAZY i was sitting at a coffee shop after you,
know talking To Sean payton and being At broncos practice
and all of, that and it just was one of
those truly sort of stunners of, like oh, wow he
actually did, It like he Actually it's like the whole
point of having a football team is to try to
find players Like Micah, parsons not to get rid of,

(15:28):
them and so it just was like it's one of
those pretty incredible. Things, obviously my phone blew. Up being
A wisconsin native with you, know every member of my
family and friend group as A packers, fan and so
there was all of, that and then there's just sort
of like the, truly you, know remarkable like nature of the.

(15:51):
Trade and then there's the.

Speaker 7 (15:53):
Sort of like what however loose or strong you.

Speaker 6 (15:55):
Want to say it is like The Nick benito, corollary
and there's just like there was just a lot going
on to sort of think about in uh in this.

Speaker 4 (16:02):
Afternoon so with that being, said what do you think
this means For Nick? Benito BECAUSE i think everyone was
waiting with baited breadth because you look at The Trey
hendrickson situation he signed and then now the Whole Micah
parson thing ari or Should broncos fans look at it this? Way,
now Either Nick benito was gonna get his deal from

(16:23):
The Denver broncos or could we see the situation Where
Nick benito was? Traded which which one do you think
is more likely to?

Speaker 6 (16:30):
Happen, WELL i think THEY'RE i think they're GONNA i
think they'll pay, them you know, that that would be
my telloud me by suspicion at this, time whether it's
in the next you, know week before the regular, SEASON
i think it's, like you, know the there's some useful
things maybe to take From Micah.

Speaker 7 (16:47):
Parsons MOSTLY i.

Speaker 6 (16:48):
Think as it pertains To benito and The, broncos just
that like you sort of have a full. VIEW i,
Mean Sean payton said today that he doesn't play chess
uh and doesn't know anything about, Chess but now you
sort of have like a full view of the chessboard
and like where the absolute top of the market is
and where the number five and the number ten slots
are and all. That so like that's. Useful but to,

(17:11):
me like you, KNOW i think it's it's whether they
do it now or sort of like they did With Jonathan.
Cooper if it's more of a bye, week midseason type of.
THING i, think you, know we'll, see BUT i still
think they'll get a deal done as opposed to to
trying to trade.

Speaker 2 (17:27):
Him, YEAH i do. Too talk About parker gave they
never Post.

Speaker 1 (17:31):
Parker what did you think, of you, know and make
sure that we include no context in. This what do
you think Of Sean payton's line that he would like more?

Speaker 2 (17:38):
Queens?

Speaker 6 (17:39):
Yeah, yeah that was. INTERESTING i was, like we can
put that on A t, SHIRT a bunch of queens but, yeah.

Speaker 7 (17:46):
NO i, MEAN i think it's.

Speaker 6 (17:48):
An interesting an interesting thought in, general and one That
sean sort of brought up before about collecting quarterbacks as
a commodity and you, know wanting to develop even if
you even if Bo nicks turns into a decade plus
starter and he's your guy and you're In Super bowl
contention with them on a regular basis and all of, That,
like you shouldn't stop mining the quarterback landscape and trying

(18:13):
to find good players at that position because there's excess
value and return in that world for people to do it.
Right and so that's you, know not Saying Sam ellender
is going to get him a first round pick next
year or that they'll trade sit him for you, know
a mid round pick or. Whatever but, like if you
have good players at that, position that can only mean good.

(18:33):
Things and sometimes that means you, know being in a
position to deal a guy or you, know just have
some leverage ruma.

Speaker 4 (18:41):
Wave So, parker with the idea of looking at The
broncos running back room and going on game, day you
can only carry so many, guys And i'm hoping during
this NEXT cba that the players are able to get that.
Change But with that being, said it's going to be
really difficult to go into any game carrying for running.

Speaker 3 (19:02):
Backs so if you were to.

Speaker 4 (19:04):
Kind of list of running backs going Into week one
against The titans here at, home OBVIOUSLY i know two
of those.

Speaker 3 (19:10):
Bags who's the other.

Speaker 6 (19:12):
Bag, yeah it's a great, question AND i Thought sean's
answer on this today was really interesting from. HERE i,
MEAN i THINK i would Say tyler today with one little,
caveat which is That sean today said it's hard to
have for running backs up on a game day unless
you have a clear one of the guys has like

(19:33):
clear roles on special teams and so like ONE i
think the question, is is the fact That Tyler biday
played a bunch of special teams this year this summer
in the preseason, games both as a returner and then you,
know on the punt team and. Whatever, like does that
is that enough of a role in the kicking game

(19:54):
that he sort of counts double running back and special teams,
Guy because if it, is then maybe all four of
and could be up for game. Day that's sort of
like the exception That sean laid out. Today if it's not,
enough then it seems to me that it would serve
as a tiebreaker Over julia McLoughlin to be the third
backup On Game day ty.

Speaker 2 (20:12):
With Parker gabriel At parker J gabriel On.

Speaker 1 (20:14):
Twitter, yeah a lot of talk around The twitter, sphere
a lot of the you, know the fans sort of
running this disappointment narrative About jade Barn and it blows
my mind Because i'm, like first of, all the guy
hasn't taken AN nfl snap yet in a regular. Game.
Uh second of, all we don't expect guys to be

(20:34):
all world right out of the.

Speaker 2 (20:35):
Box you, know you got.

Speaker 1 (20:36):
Up the coaches are there to develop guys because you,
know they got to. Develop it feels like people Forget
Patser tan was corner four on the depth. Chart ups
How Ron darby got hurt and then he came it
came on and uh and then Became Patser tan shortly.

Speaker 2 (20:48):
Thereafter vance has an aversion to to trusting rookies too.

Speaker 1 (20:52):
Much is if we don't see as much As jade
bar right off the bad is that is that a?

Speaker 2 (20:56):
Disappointment, no not at.

Speaker 6 (20:58):
All in, fact LIKE i talked to about this uh
one on one last week actually And Luke adan's my
b partner at The, post wrote a really good story
about Ja day and the thing That vance told me
was like he, said, yeah, listen like today's really, smart
like unbelievably. Smart and so he thinks that he's not

(21:18):
supposed to make any. Mistakes he, Said i'm, SMART i
shouldn't make that. Mistake and that's was, like, yeah but
it's THE. Nfl it happens really. Fast you're gonna make.
Mistakes that's. Life and not only, that but like you
sort of have to go through some of that in
order to come out the other side as a wise experienced.
Player so to, me, LIKE i DON'T i don't think
there should be any concern at. All and down the

(21:41):
stretch of the, preseason there were some, FLASHES i guess
you would, say of him doing things where it's like
you're not, thinking you're just playing the, run support play
AGAINST i guess was That New orleans and maybe it
was The San francisco second week of the, Preseason like
there are just some games and he's done some. Things you're, Like,
oh that's what it's supposed to look. Like so to, me,

(22:03):
LIKE i THINK i think he's right on. Schedule they're
asking him to do a whole, lot AND i think
it's also Worth Like, nick you would know better than.
Anybody like one of the things about training camp is
like training camp is when the fire hose is, on
you're learning, everything you're installing. Everything he's playing multiple positions
that all gets like scaled way back when they show
up on money to get ready For. Tennessee so to,

(22:25):
me it's, LIKE i think he's in a good. SPOT
i don't know how much he's going to play week,
one but he's gonna Make he's gonna play a lot
in his rookie, year and he's a guy's The. Broncos,
really he's like truly ardently believe it's.

Speaker 4 (22:37):
Special when we look at the two starting, linebackers there
was a concern coming, in especially With Alex singleton coming
back from, injury and we know the injury history Of Drake.
Greenlaw we know both guys were someone on a pitch
count during training. Camp do you anticipate some kind of
pitch count going into the season starting With week one

(22:58):
for both, Linebackers.

Speaker 6 (23:00):
YEAH i think. SO i, mean you, Know Sean payton
sort of said as much today that you're not just
going to roll them out their seventy plus. Naps so you,
Know alex maybe a little further, along like he did
more team, stuff more contact, stuff played in the preseason,
finale whereas Like greenlat and wasn't in either.

Speaker 7 (23:20):
Joint practice or any of the preseason.

Speaker 6 (23:21):
Games so maybe like a little more limitation On greenlat
that would just be a. Guess but in, general like
there's a reason why they kept you, know they got
four on the fifty three and then they got three
guys on the practice, squad Including Wivelle. Bailey so like
these guys are the young guys are gonna have to
be ready to play early in the, season and it's

(23:42):
an area where like, sure would you love to have
them both full speed and on the field in their
full capacity right? Away, Yeah but like the real thing
is you want them on the field in you, Know
christmas night In Kansas, city week, sixteen seventeen eighteen into
the post, season assuming you, know you get that.

Speaker 7 (24:01):
Far and so like to, me LIKE i think playing
it sort of cautious.

Speaker 6 (24:06):
Of these guys is probably the right. Move and you're
just sort of forced into that by the fact that
you Know Alex singleton's thirty, One greenlaws twenty. Eight now
they've both dealt with major. Injuries it's just like it's
the prudent thing to do at this, point given where they're.
At tom With.

Speaker 1 (24:21):
Parker gabriel At PARKER. J gabriel On, twitter it's speaking of.
Snapcounts put on our tenfoil hats for half a second.
Here if The broncos don't Have Nick benito signed going
into the, season do you think they put him on
a pitch count and maybe showcase a little more jonah
allis just just as a kind of a leverage move
to you, know.

Speaker 3 (24:43):
You know how these teams.

Speaker 2 (24:44):
Do just saying he's played sixty one percent of snaps last.

Speaker 1 (24:46):
Year Sean payton has been vocal many times throughout the
offseason about maybe getting that snap count. Down do you
think that there's any incentive to have Less Nick benito
out there until he signs a.

Speaker 7 (24:58):
Deal are you saying.

Speaker 6 (25:00):
That if he had nine sacks in the first eight
games that that would be in some ways bad For
denver and he didn't have.

Speaker 2 (25:08):
That especially.

Speaker 6 (25:11):
You, know you know what's interesting about that then is
LIKE i it definitely like perked my ears. Up when
When peyton you know at the beginning of camp it
might have been earlier than that, was, like, Yeah nick
played too much last, year and he, also like even before,
that he sort of attributed to uptick in production From
benito to playing, more WHICH i, mean, okay, yeah sure

(25:33):
that's part of. It but like you can also See
benito has. DONE i would, say maybe he doesn't even
get enough credit for the way he's developed himself and
had coaches help him develop over his first three seasons
from a you, know talented but very flawed player as
a rookie to where he's at right. Now so like
when he played a little bit, Less, yeah that perked

(25:53):
my ears up When sean said that a while. Back
but what's interesting Is benito got asked about it and
like pretty wholehard agreed with With Sean. Payton he, said,
YEAH i wore. DOWN i broke down at the end
of the. Year SO i, MEAN i don't, know what
what do you, like what's what's the difference if he
has nine sacks through eight games compared to like six

(26:13):
and a half or, Seven, LIKE i Don't i'm not
sure that's going to save you five million a.

Speaker 4 (26:18):
Year, Park AND i know the league has made an
emphasis on trying to grow the game. INTERNATIONALLY i know
that first and foremost BECAUSE i participated IN Nfo europe
as a member of The Chicago. Bears but the The
broncos have just added an international.

Speaker 3 (26:33):
Player to their practice.

Speaker 4 (26:35):
Squad how do you think that this actually builds and
continues to expand the game.

Speaker 7 (26:41):
Globally, yeah well that's a good.

Speaker 6 (26:43):
Question i'm not sure it revolutionizes, it but like it's
a great opportunity for these these guys and, occasionally you,
know you see one that sort of. Hits it's kind of,
funny now like this is JUST i, guess my Fourth,
india fourth year covering The. Broncos but it's. Interesting LIKE i,
WAS i was looking through the you, know waiver wire
On tuesday, NIGHT i, guess and it's, like, oh there's

(27:04):
there's a guy he was here in twenty twenty, three
and There's Thomas yassman locked on. Somewhere, that's you, know
The australian tight end they had last.

Speaker 7 (27:11):
Year this Guy Pat murta that.

Speaker 6 (27:13):
They signed as their seventeenth for this. Season he's at least.
INTERESTING i, mean he's he's a really big duty's a super,
athlete and they were pretty high on him In jacksonville
before he ended up spending all of last year on injured.
Reserve and so, like you, know if he's the Next Jimmy,
graham know that's Obviously CALEB. B, loohner.

Speaker 7 (27:34):
BUT i mean he's a.

Speaker 6 (27:36):
Guy he's a guy that will at least like give
them a pretty good look in the scout team and
if there's upside then, hey you, know he doesn't cost
you a roster spot on the practice squad, Anyways.

Speaker 2 (27:46):
Tyl With Parker gabriel At parker. J.

Speaker 1 (27:48):
Gabriel last one for, me is there anything about this
roster that surprised or failed to say anything that you
they failed to do that you thought maybe they should
do in the.

Speaker 6 (27:58):
End, yeah that's a good. QUESTION i think overall they're
in pretty good. SHAPE i just, LIKE i know this
has been out there the last, week but LIKE i
just speaking Of, australians LIKE i just the pumping thing
has to be like a little bit scary for.

Speaker 7 (28:11):
Them, like you, Know Jeremy crosshaw has a huge, Leg
he's super. Talented but, like if you are a team
that Has Super.

Speaker 6 (28:17):
Bowl aspirations and you're in the toughest division in, football
you cannot lose a game because you know your, punter you,
know knocked the ball out of bounds of the forty
five with thirty seconds. Left we need to pin somebody
deep and you let someone someone you, know team needs
ten yards to get in a field goal range like,
that just it can't. Happen and so it hasn't been you,

(28:38):
know it hasn't been a complete. Disaster he's clearly really.
Talented they're gonna give him some time to sort through the.
Inconsistency but LIKE i am curious along that. LEASHES i
don't know the. Answer maybe it's really. Long maybe it
turned out to be, nothing and the games start and
he punts really. Well he's certainly got the ability to do.
That but like that's the one thing to me is,
like are how far into the season are we going to?

(29:02):
Get if it's? Inconsistent Before Sean payton looks around and goes, like, hey,
guys our division is really, Good like we we can't
really mess.

Speaker 1 (29:10):
Around parker appreciate the time is uh as always look
forward to checking in with you again here.

Speaker 6 (29:19):
Soon, yeah you, bet have you, Guys PARKER.

Speaker 1 (29:23):
J gabril On twitter at the Thed Ever post sounded
Like parker was walking.

Speaker 4 (29:27):
Somewhere, yeah there's a lot of sound like he's really,
soft but you can hear like maybe some cars in the.

Speaker 3 (29:34):
Background, yeah that's What that's WHAT i thought. That that's
WHY i asked.

Speaker 2 (29:38):
You Are but that's the that's multi. Tas parker's got
that kind of skill like he can he can.

Speaker 1 (29:41):
Multitask he can get a, workout maybe a yog soft
jay IN i don't.

Speaker 5 (29:44):
Know, yeah now he's a new, dad you, know maybe
he has to take out the. Baby, okay all, right
get him to, sleep you.

Speaker 4 (29:54):
Know, yeah so he's walking the baby out trying to
get him to, sleep like you said in the.

Speaker 5 (29:58):
Stroller yeah, yeah, okay so, yeah that's what the baby.

Speaker 2 (30:01):
And the, wall he had all that going.

Speaker 3 (30:02):
On now that's.

Speaker 4 (30:03):
GREAT i didn't know that Before parky came, on and
NOW i need to congratulate him as a new.

Speaker 3 (30:07):
