Thursday Night football to use the muscle.

Speaker 1 (00:48):
Bill's gonna take on the Miami doll Your Miami Dolphins, No,
my usual.

Speaker 3 (00:54):
Dolphins fan, Nick Ferguson.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
No, no, did you grow up a Dolphins fan. No,
I did not you in Miami.

Speaker 4 (01:02):
Yes, I grew up in Miami, Dan Marino, yeh, I
sure did greet him a Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
Oh wow, okay, yeah, it's.

Speaker 4 (01:10):
Kind of like I win against the family grain right.
I wasn't afraid, oh from a girl father, I wasn't afraid.
Oh sure, no one took me out on the boat.
So I wasn't afraid. Oh, but I did root for
h the Pittsburgh Steelers. So so yeah. So my my
father's Miami Dolphins. So uh, he's taking it on his chin. Man,

(01:34):
he's taking it really tough right now.

Speaker 1 (01:36):
Okay, well five six, six nine, text on you guys
wanna get involved. We get the Bills Dolphins tonight Monday
Night football. Bills are eleven and a half point favorites.

Speaker 2 (01:45):
Uh in this one. I'm saying a lot of lead.
The biggest one this week. UH speaks once before this year,
what was the one.

Speaker 4 (01:51):
With the Broncos and the Titans?

Speaker 2 (01:54):
That was eight and a half. It was eight and
a half. Yeah, this is a field go beyond that. Uh.

Speaker 1 (01:58):
The over unders started forty eight and a half out
to fifty and a half. Now ninety six percent of betters,
ninety seven percent of money is on Buffalo on the
money line.

Speaker 3 (02:07):
Here, this is interesting because the public.

Speaker 1 (02:10):
Is on the under eighty percent of bets, but the
money is all on the over seventy one percent of bets.

Speaker 2 (02:15):
A fifty one percent swing.

Speaker 1 (02:17):
There, that is a that is a statistical abnormality.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
See.

Speaker 4 (02:21):
I think that tonight, despite how the Miami Dolphins played
in Week one and Week two, there's still an opportunity
because Milano's not playing at Oliver's not playing, So you
take two pieces on the first level and the second
level of the Buffalo Bill's defense outside of the mix.

Speaker 2 (02:39):
To me, that bowes well for Tua.

Speaker 4 (02:41):
I mean, he has mostly he has to worry about,
but I don't think that would be a huge concern
for him. And if Jaymewato, who at first was said
he wasn't going to play in tonight's game, but he's
playing Tybreek Hill, So it should open up some windows
down the middle of the field because that Buffalo Bill's
secondary man, they played cup or two and for me,

(03:02):
they don't play it well. So there should be some
opportunities in a vertical passing game for two in the Miami.

Speaker 1 (03:08):
Dolphins there's plenty of talent still in that defensive line though.
For Buffalo, They've still got Gregory Russeau. They've still got
a j and Panessa, they got Daikwon Jones. They don't
walk of the rookie, the big rookie. They've still got
plenty of bodies on that defensive line. Even with that
Oliver out of that one, I think Milano is the
bigger miss here, really Oliver.

Speaker 4 (03:25):
When you think about the Ravens game in Week one,
it was at Oliver because he was really disruptive in
the battro and he was the reason that Derek Henry
actually fomble, which allowed the Bills to get back in
the games.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
He did, and then Oliver is a great player. Don't
get me wrong.

Speaker 1 (03:40):
I'm not trying to take anything away from him. I'm
just saying they've got bodies enough. I think that they'll
be okay there. The problem really for me is that
the leadership that Milano has the second level.

Speaker 2 (03:49):
He is the second level guy for that defense.

Speaker 1 (03:52):
You're gonna be relying on Dorian Williams in this one,
maybe a little bit of Joe and Riesen and Shaq
Thompson in that rotation. And there because Terrel Bernard is
the only the linebacker that you've got, So that's gonna
be that's going to be an interesting scenario. And yeah,
you're right, they do. They are a Cover two defense.
That is, that is what they want to do. Almost
almost as close to Tampa two as you can as

(04:15):
you get in the modern league.

Speaker 3 (04:17):
And it's it'll force to a to play to certain spots.

Speaker 1 (04:20):
On the field for the you know, the honey hole
between the safety and the low zone corner and then
trying to hit that post over the inside backer and
in between. Now, they do like to run some inverted
Cover two looks to kind of take that away at times,
and maybe you can explain to the listeners what an
inverted Cover two is.

Speaker 4 (04:36):
Well, usually what happens is that you show somewhat of
a Cover two shell and once the ball is snapped,
you kind of rotate down, so you're trying to give
the quarterback a different type of look pre and post nap.
And I decide you can it all depends on what
you do in your players skill level. You can rotate
those guys now. But the great thing about running kind

(04:59):
of an inverted look, you really don't know you force
the wide receivers to pat and read on the fly.
And then also that allows you to run what some
teams run. They run kind of a robber coverage where
that guy's showing Cover two, he drops down after the
ball is snap and anything that's coming, you know, from
ten yards to six yards, he can rob it top down.

(05:22):
But here's the issue with it. It sounds great in theory,
but if you get a safety who is overly aggressive
and he doesn't play with vision, the first route he sees,
he's jumping.

Speaker 1 (05:32):
It right, and it's going to leave a big gap
back there, a whid gap.

Speaker 4 (05:37):
And you don't want to do that for two and
give to a more opportunity. But something with Milano being
out it kind of brought me to this, this concept
of how important is it for that guy who wears
a green dot and what I'm talking about on a
defense that's the mike linebacker. How important is it for
that guy to possess all the attributes you need from

(05:59):
a mike backer's standpoint.

Speaker 1 (06:01):
Oh yeah, I mean, it's a it's a discipline defense.
You have to there's there's some certain things that are
required out of it. Your corners have got to be physical. Uh,
and they've got to have You got to have great
vision out of your safeties and your your middle linebacker
has got to be extremely athletic and also communicative because
he's got to he's got to be able to get
all the way back sometimes. He's got to be able
to do a number of different things. But yeah, he
does have to be and make sure that everybody's in

(06:23):
the right alignments and understands what's going on.

Speaker 4 (06:26):
And the reason I say that because I know after
the game on Sunday against the Colts, watching what was
trending on social media, there was a lot of conversation
and dialogue. Man, we can't wait until Drake Greenlaw comes back.
That's gonna be the permanent fix for the Denver Broncos defense.
And I mean, obviously we all know what Drake dreen
Law is capable of. He is a thumper, he has

(06:48):
and he plays with a lot of energy. Hasn't participated
a lot in training camp in pre season, and obviously
this season.

Speaker 2 (06:55):
Is far so I would like to think, and I
would like to get.

Speaker 4 (06:59):
You your viewpoint, Ben, what do you think the Broncos
defense after what took place in the Code game how
different would the Broncos defense actually look, not from an
execution standpoint, but a communications standpoint. Wants green Law inserted
back in the lineups, Well, you want to.

Speaker 2 (07:16):
Put him in the role where he's going away from
the ball.

Speaker 1 (07:19):
He's sidelined the sideline and away from the ball, and
Singleton would be the guy going downhill where they have
Sternaud right now. I think if you've ever if you've
watched how vance Joseph likes to defend. They like to
use those defensive linemen to kind of tie up the
blockers and they they have what's called the B gap
bubble right, And then what you want to do is
you want to shoot that downhill linebacker down there you
used to be got like Todd Davis back in the day.

(07:41):
The idea would be to have Singleton doing that instead
of going away from the ball and coverage and so yeah,
you know you'll see you would see green Law who
has better I think instincts and coverage. Singleton could play
sideline a sideline, but really he's the sideline to sideline
and downhill guy.

Speaker 2 (07:54):
Not really. You don't really want him going away from
the ball, and that's what he's had.

Speaker 1 (07:57):
To do with with green law out, you know, and
so that's I think that's the change that you would
see in those situations. Sterno has been the downhill guy
so far as your actual leads a team in sacks
right now. But that's that's what you would see, is
a roll shift in what Singleton does now see.

Speaker 4 (08:16):
I'm a little concerned about Sunday's matchup against the Charges.
I'm very concerned about it because looking at what Justin
Herbert can't do with his arm and his legs and
watching him over the past two games against Kansas City
against the Raiders. The Kansady game seven carries thirty two
yards against the Vegas, I mean the Raiders nine carries

(08:41):
thirty one yards. And I know it doesn't seem like
that's an enormous amount of yards, but nineteen is longest.
Nineteen yards against the Chiefs, twelve yards against the Raiders.
And the reason becomes a problem if you advanced Joseph,
do you decide to bring down Hufunga and bring in PJ.
Lot As maybe a spy, or do you think that

(09:03):
they can play straight up with Schrenard and Alex Singington
play defense but still be able to truck down and
eliminate though explosive runs like justin Herbert Well.

Speaker 1 (09:14):
I think the good news for the Broncos in this
matchup is there's not a tight end that threatens you
on the Chargers roster, right Will Disley kind of is
what he is.

Speaker 2 (09:21):
But there's there's not anybody. There's not a Tyler Warren,
you know, on that on that roster. They've got a run.

Speaker 1 (09:28):
They've got to run a Gadsden who's the rookie, but
they don't you know, they haven't used him much. And Conkland,
but they haven't really used him much either. Disley's kind
of the guy and any kind of is what he is.
They they employ a three receiver attack and that's what
you have to watch out for. Johnson's the speedster, and
Allen and mccackey are kind of more possession guys. Alan's
Allen's a little bit more in the the mid possession,
not much run after the catch.

Speaker 2 (09:49):
McConkey.

Speaker 1 (09:50):
McConkie Will will get deep on you sometimes, but really
he's more of that slot receiver, that Welker role. Yes
I'm saying he's white, you know, he's in that that
choice for out welker role, you know, for what they
do there. And then you know they do have the
two running backs they'll rotate through. Scott Matt Locke is
a bit of an actual joker. They'll line him up
at h back, full back, tight end whatever when when

(10:12):
they bring him on the field. But I'm not The
good news is you don't have to worry about the
tight end as much in this one. It's just not
you know where Tyler Warrens and neuber athlete. They don't
have any of that. So you can play things a
little bit differently than the way that they did things
against you know, Indy, And I think you'll be able
to get more pressure because this line isn't as good

(10:33):
as the line in Indie.

Speaker 2 (10:35):
No, no, it's not. But lam McConkie. Let's go back
to him for a second.

Speaker 4 (10:40):
And usually, you know, we kind of jokingly talk about,
you know, more quicker than than.

Speaker 2 (10:45):
Fast, sneaky fast.

Speaker 4 (10:47):
We're saying, he's like, but this dude runs a fourth
three nine does there's no sneakiness about it. And once again,
when you look at the matchups, because every game comes
down to the matchup, you have the veteran keenan Allen,
who I think is a superior player at the wide
receiver position. He's not a burner, but since he knows

(11:09):
he's not a burner, he is quite efficient at running
his routes. One of the better route runners in this league.
The other guy, I would say, maybe a put over
above Keenan Allen would be DeVante Adams, right right, But
then you had you mix that with Quinn Johnson, who
is Now they're the team's top.

Speaker 1 (11:27):
Receiver, and they've been throwing targets his way. He's gotten better,
still not great efficiently, you know. I mean he's had
fourteen targets, only think caught like half of them, seven
or eight of them. But you know they are throwing
his way a lot where the other two receivers are
a lot more efficient. McConkie catches about everything thrown his way.
I don't think Allen is he is. I think he's
fourteen of seving fourteen catches on seventeen targets. The thing
about Keenan Allen you gotta watch is I mean, he's

(11:49):
not gonna beat you. He's sneaky peas, but he will
beat you with the who's He is sneaky fast and
the sense that he'll beat you.

Speaker 2 (11:56):
As soon as you see him.

Speaker 3 (11:57):
Prompt his hips, you know he's making his cut.

Speaker 1 (12:00):
That's what you have to do is watch you when
you're playing Keenan Ell, you gotta watch his hips. Is
that that's the old Otherwise he's so good at it,
he'll put the move on you and then he'll just
be open.

Speaker 2 (12:08):
You know what.

Speaker 4 (12:09):
Uh. There was a tail I picked up on when
I was a coach with the forty nine Ers while
we were getting ready to play the Chargers with when
it comes to Kenyan Allen, like when the ball is
coming to him, he did this thing of he's always
fixing his gloves and I was like, wait a minute,
let me make sure that I'm correct, because every time
the ball was coming to him he would fix and

(12:31):
adjustice gloves. And I'm like that that's the tail. Now,
obviously he could he could change it up. But they
have a nice receiving corps. But I wonder, how is
this gonna work out from advanced schoster's standpoint.

Speaker 2 (12:43):
Who is he going to put ps two on?

Speaker 4 (12:45):
Are they going to play well, you know, you play
your side, or if if it is Quinn Johnson just
following him around because Quinn, you know, even though he's
been inconsistent, he still is a straight line runner.

Speaker 2 (12:57):
He is a long body.

Speaker 4 (12:59):
And last week we saw all you know, Piers catched
that long one over Riley Moss. So that that I'm
thinking about what at chess mess is gonna look like.

Speaker 1 (13:07):
I think you start out field boundary and you see
what happens. If you got to have somebody shade somebody,
then there you go. But I think you go field
boundary and see if Friley Moss can handle Quintin Johnson.
I mean, Pierce is faster than Quentin Johnson. Quick, not fast,
but Pierce is a whole other level of fast. So
I think you I think you go that wa out
and you just kind of see what happens, uh, And
if you need to make adjustments, then you can make
adjustments from there and and figure out what you need

(13:27):
if you got to have somebody trailing somebody or switch
it up, or you know, whatever the case may be.
Just because I like Cirtaan, Uh, I would rather have
certain on a crafty guy that creates like a then
I would yeah, and and then you know, for me,
I would rather have my my best corner on their
best creator and and Alan is their best creator.

Speaker 2 (13:50):
Quinn Johnson is a is a verdict of three.

Speaker 1 (13:53):
Is just like McConkie, but I think I think I
think he's kind of one dimensional, where mccaky isn't one dimensional.

Speaker 2 (13:59):
Mccaukey can work mild, he do it all.

Speaker 3 (14:02):
But Johnson, I think you're not asking Moss to do
too much.

Speaker 1 (14:04):
You're just saying, look, you got three routes here, you
got the eight to nine and the comeback, and that
this is what he runs. He's a free route, dude.
All you got to do is defend that. And I
think that's not putting too much on Moss's plate.

Speaker 4 (14:14):
You know what, the codes going back to them for
a second, the one thing that they did was take
away what the Broncos wanted to do best read and
react from Roley Moss or ps two standpoint, but also
get after the pass rush. And that's why the Daniel
Jones passes, they were quick, they were in rhythm. He

(14:35):
didn't allow the pass rush to kind of really get them,
and when they got to him, he was still able
to drift in the pocket with his eyes down field,
located receiver, excellent ball placement. So when I look at
this particular game, and I'm wondering, how would the Chargers
play this, Because to beat the Broncos, you can beat
them with the crossing routes. That's the best way to
do because you kind of take their strength away from them.

(14:58):
So if they want to turn into a game where
it's a vertical passing game, or they want to run
the deep comebacks or whatever.

Speaker 2 (15:04):
Which takes timing for.

Speaker 4 (15:06):
The quarterback to see and to receive to get into
their routs, then they're playing in the hands of the Broncos.

Speaker 2 (15:10):
And I think the Broncos will definitely eat that up.

Speaker 1 (15:13):
Yeah, and I tend to I tend to agree. And
that was I mean, the Colts, you gotta tap your cap.
The Colts, they had a great game plan for attacking
the defense. Get it out quick, stay in rhythm, Uh,
don't don't take negative plays, just try to keep it
moving with those kinds of things. And Daniel Jones did
execute that at a at a really at a really
significant level. So, uh, the Chargers don't really do that.

(15:33):
They're not a quick game team. They are playing for
the vertical stuff.

Speaker 2 (15:36):
Now.

Speaker 1 (15:36):
They do have some quick game elements at times, but
most of their stuff is designed like they run a
lot of shot plays. They run a lot of you know,
deep acrossers, deep outs, deep over it and that gives
your defense time to tee off on some of those
passing concepts, so that that is one matchup that that
tends to favor them.

Speaker 2 (15:52):
Guys.

Speaker 4 (15:52):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (15:53):
You guys can win a VIP table for eight, up
to eight people for the burn. Now, this is sund

some free shots of free food for them. Uh and
that VIP table so for up to eight people. So
three or three seven, three eighty five eighty five color

Speaker 2 (16:47):
Uh after the break as well. What was that you
turned me on too, down into Burndown? Was it? Yeah?
Sake freats? Yeah, no good.

Speaker 4 (16:56):
So the rule a salad, a nice little dressing on it,
some kind of like ie thin gaunic pomesan fries and
uh the steak. They always ask you, how do you
how do you want it right?

Speaker 2 (17:09):
Medium? Well for you, no, no, stop it rare no,
I said medium, And it is nice juicy until is
it the chimney chery sauce atuff? It's so good.

Speaker 1 (17:19):
I'm not trying to run ad for the burnout right now,
but it's so good. I mean, they're great. They can
break them to us.

Speaker 2 (17:26):
Look, I'm mad at it.

Speaker 1 (17:27):
They brought them to the table. They they brought and
actually we need to bring them something this Sunday. I
think gonna square up a tab over there after.

Speaker 3 (17:35):
This past week five six, sixth nine zero.

Speaker 2 (17:38):
Taking your hyar questions as well.

Speaker 1 (17:40):
We got Daniel Popper going to join us top of
the hour, but Broccos color analyst Rick Lewis joins us next.
This is the Barucos Country Night conversation. Of course, that's
the music means it's time.

Speaker 3 (17:53):
To go out and talk to our Broccos color analyst
Rick Lewis.

Speaker 2 (17:56):
Rick, how you doing, Nick?

Speaker 5 (17:58):
And Ben the safety and the drum tech man. I'm
doing good. Always good to talk to you guys.

Speaker 1 (18:06):
Yeah, it's great to talk to you. We always want
to know what the funk is going on with you.
And we've got a big game coming up here. Last
second loss against the Colts may have gotten this fan
base a little disheartened. Not you, Rick Lewis, though you
believe the Broncos can beat the Chargers.

Speaker 2 (18:21):
I do.

Speaker 5 (18:23):
That was a crushing loss, obviously for everybody.

Speaker 2 (18:27):
And I literally.

Speaker 5 (18:29):
Felt nauseous after that game, and I don't think I've
ever felt that bad after a loss.

Speaker 2 (18:36):
Now, keep in mind, I did eat a show. Pepper.

Speaker 5 (18:41):
We talked about that yesterday and I'm going to attribute
the nausea to the show Pepper, but it was a
pretty pretty tough loss to take, I think for everybody.
But you got to move on, you know, the team
has moved on, We've all moved on. And when I
look at the Chargers coming up this week, it started
off is just a feeling, but now I'm starting to

(19:03):
feel it even stronger. I think the Chargers are due
for a letdown game this week and perfect timing for
the Denver Broncos to go in there and get a win.
And if you win this week, you're two to one,
You're on top of.

Speaker 2 (19:18):
The AFC West.

Speaker 5 (19:20):
So I think this could be a chance for the
Broncos to take back control of the division.

Speaker 4 (19:27):
All right, Riight, So obviously the idea is of putting
this game behind us, but behind the Broncos, and in
doing so, what does this now mean for them moving forward?
Because there's always adversity in the game itself. There's always
a point during the season where you're going to be challenged.

(19:47):
Are we looking at that point of the season for
the Broncos where they're now being mentally and physically challenged?
And now they really need this game because if they don't.
Now the Chargers would have defeated Chiefs, the Raiders, and
the Broncos in three straight games.

Speaker 5 (20:05):
Yeah, that's why this is such a huge game for
both teams really, and Broncos, we know they didn't play
well last week and a week one the defense played great,
but the offense didn't play that well.

Speaker 2 (20:19):
So we haven't seen.

Speaker 5 (20:21):
The best version of this team yet where they put
it all together. Special teams have struggle too, so kind
of a rocky start for the Broncos.

Speaker 2 (20:30):
They are one and one.

Speaker 5 (20:31):
That being said, this game is so important for the
reason you mentioned, Nick, But then when you look at
the stretch, coming up with the Bengals and then Philly
and then going to London to play the Jets, this
is a tough stretch and you got to win this game.
I don't like the thoughts of being one and two

(20:52):
moving forward from here. You win this game, like I said,
you take back control the bit of the division and
you're back in the driver's seat and I think everybody
will feel a whole lot better. So let's see if
they can rally this week and play their best game.
A complimentary football both sides of the ball. Special teams
if they do that, they win the game. And as

(21:14):
I mentioned, I think the Chargers are due for a
letdown game. They've got some key injuries, they are working
on a short week, they got in late Tuesday morning
from that Monday night game. So things are kind of
leaning that direction for the Broncos to make you feel
a whole lot more optimistic.

Speaker 1 (21:31):
Well, and we need some sense of optimism because you
look Sean Payton old time against the LA Chargers or
well against Jim Harball anyway is one in five.

Speaker 2 (21:40):
He's only ever won once against Jim Harball.

Speaker 1 (21:42):
And so that's that's one of those things that kind
of has had me raised an eyebrow. And when I
was looking at that, they've got they've got to do it.
Last year you lost both time of the Charges. You've
got to you've got to be able to get some
against the Chargers in order to put yourself in the
position you want.

Speaker 2 (21:55):
To be at the end of the season.

Speaker 3 (21:57):
And there are some things that trend that way.

Speaker 1 (21:59):
But this is also a football team that suddenly discovered
they can throw the football and not just have to
run it.

Speaker 5 (22:05):
Yeah, and the keyword there is not to have to
run it because justin Herbert's been playing so well.

Speaker 2 (22:11):
He's been just about perfect in these first two.

Speaker 5 (22:14):
Games, So they're not running the ball. I think the
Chargers are going to want to try to come out
running the football against the Broncos. If you look at
that film against the Colts last week, that's pretty much
what I think any coach would lean on against this
Denver Broncos team. Certainly some issues with the Broncos, especially

(22:36):
at the inside linebacker position with Singleton as Trinad Drake
Greenlaw still out.

Speaker 2 (22:43):
I talked about this with Ryan yesterday.

Speaker 5 (22:45):
I feel like Alex Singleton maybe hasn't come all the
way back from that ACL. He just doesn't look like
the same player to me. That's a problem. And Tornad's
a backup, he's a special teams guy, although he has
played well, and it looks like maybe he's questionable to
play this week. If Trenad can't go this week, you've

(23:07):
got some serious issues. And they'll try to run the
ball against this Broncos defense. And I think they'll also
take advantage of those linebackers in the passing game. They
run a lot of crossing routes. McConkey could be a
real weapon for them. This week as well.

Speaker 4 (23:23):
Now, coming into the draft of the season, I think Ben,
both Ben and I we were really big on Amarion Hampton,
who ended up being drafted by the Chargers, and that's
who the Broncos are gonna face on Sunday. And it's
interesting you bringing up the run game last week. The
Broncos were not effective. I'm not gonna say just in
the run, but with Jonathan Taylor catch from the ball

(23:44):
out of the backfield. You're talking about the injuries at
the linebacker position. Now I have my ideas rig of
what Vance Joseph could do to kind of slow down
that Chargers offense. But what do you think happens if
Trenard is still kind of, you.

Speaker 2 (23:59):
Know, banged up a little going into that game.

Speaker 4 (24:02):
And now Harbor saying, you know what, we haven't done
a great job of being physical from a run standpoint,
but we're gonna do it this week with Nijie Harris
and a Marion Hampton.

Speaker 2 (24:09):
How do you think the Broncos stop it?

Speaker 5 (24:12):
Yeah, that's gonna be a problem because if you start
stacking the box to stop the run, Herbert's gonna kill you.
And if you blitz Herbert, he's really good against the
Blitz as well. That's a problem. That's an issue, Nick,
And I don't know what you do. If Strnad can't
go and you're and you have Singleton and whoever, I

(24:34):
don't know who they would play in that spot. That's
gonna be a major problem. They're just gonna have to
have a better effort this week. I thought last week
we saw the Broncos tackling was really poor, and I'm
sure you saw the same thing, Nick.

Speaker 2 (24:50):
They didn't tackle well.

Speaker 5 (24:51):
They were they were chasing most of the time, reaching
out with arms trying to bring Jonathan Taylor down, and
these wide receivers that were catching the ball, they seem
to be chasing all day long. So be more disciplined
this week. Tackle well, do your job, carry out your assignment.
No more broken coverages. Do what you're supposed to do.

(25:14):
You've got the talent on this team to be very
competitive this week against the Chargers, But if you played
like you did last week, it's not going to be
a good outcome on the road against a really good
Chargers team.

Speaker 1 (25:27):

I'll try to dragon out. We'll see what happens.

Speaker 3 (26:52):

Speaker 2 (26:52):
That might be a little too far up in the
mountains for Nick. I'll drive them. Hey, man, I'll drive
you all, come and wick you out there.

Speaker 1 (26:59):
Do you what there's definitely it's the little bear for
the Bears. I mean, I mean, I mean no, there's
no wildlife up there of the place right No, bay Oh,
I'll find a way to get him out to my
hooker by crook, I'll get him out there.

Speaker 2 (27:13):
Rick, I appreciate it as always. All right, love you guys,
Thanks for having me. Absolutely take care of brother.

Speaker 3 (27:23):
Five six sixty nine Zeros text lines.

Speaker 1 (27:25):
We've had a few texts coming in here looking at
the Bills Dolphins game, which is in the second quarter,
tied up at seven and the Bills are driving again.
Several people, a couple of people Bryan here saying what
do you think of Miami staying in the game so far?
A while, it's very early Miami's scripts look good coming
out on the script, but Buffalo it just looks like

(27:47):
they're the better team.

Speaker 2 (27:47):
By Miami's Dolphins defense looks bad. It looks bad.

Speaker 4 (27:52):
Oh that's a lot of bad meaning bad, not meaning good,
but meaning really bad.

Speaker 2 (27:58):
Their defense looks bad. I mean it's just done. It
looks bad.

Speaker 1 (28:01):
They look slow, they look like they're reactive to everything,
doesn't look like they're dictating anything, and you know they're
struggling to wrap up and make tackles. You just had
a second and ten there where receiver should have been
bottled up after six yards and just kept going.

Speaker 4 (28:16):
But a lot of that goes back to the personnel,
and those two things have to work in concert with
one another. And what I mean by that is great
play calling and scheme and having the right personnel. It's
hard to really show that your genius as a coach
if you really don't have the players to run your scheme.

(28:37):
Case in point, if you want to run more pressure packages,
which means more man coverage.

Speaker 2 (28:43):
And you have zone corners, that's the problem.

Speaker 4 (28:46):
You're going to struggle because now teams are just going
to pick your part because you just can't sit in
zone all day. I know individuals would like for Advanced
Joseph to sit in zone all day.

Speaker 2 (28:59):
You can't.

Speaker 4 (29:00):
It's just so much space and you're relying on guys
and zone coverage to be able to communicate the routes
that they see.

Speaker 2 (29:08):
And some guys, you know, we can look at the
same thing.

Speaker 4 (29:11):
Well, we see something entirely different and we process it differently, especially.

Speaker 1 (29:16):
If you're tired. Yeah, well they shouldn't be that tire.
We're only you know, we had twelve nine left to
go in the second quarter. But as we're watching this
with basic RPO pay with the with the backside slant
pegged in there and the free safety is completely.

Speaker 3 (29:27):
Out of position, completely allowed.

Speaker 1 (29:28):
They allowed them to hit the slant there because the
safety was totally out of position.

Speaker 4 (29:31):
Okay in that case, and we've seen it with the Broncos.
We've seen it with a lot of teams, whether they
are two and oh, one and one or in two
where execution becomes somewhat of a much larger issue. Right,
the coach designed to play and they puts you in
a position like you're describing, in position to make it
play on a slant. You don't make that play. That's

(29:55):
not on a coach, even though you know the fans
who are watching media members will saying, well, that's on
the coach. He didn't put it in a position you
got executed.

Speaker 3 (30:02):
That's what there was a pretty simple execution.

Speaker 1 (30:04):
The corner had had the outside and the safety use
is coming down and we take away the inside leverage
on the slant and that that's what that's what the
coverage was designed for.

Speaker 2 (30:12):
There. Then Josh Allen just read and dropped it.

Speaker 3 (30:14):
Right to the guy because the safety was peaking to
the backfield.

Speaker 4 (30:16):
See that speaks to the brilliance of Josh Allen and
his growth of being able to see things and dictate things.
And that's kind of it reminds me of the times
that I played against Peyton Manning and Peyton had the
propensity to do those types of things, set things up,
gets you to move where he wants you to move,
so he could be more more successful.

Speaker 3 (30:37):
Daniel Popper to preview the charges as we come back
Rocos Country.

Speaker 2 (30:40):
