nail it where you can get old episodes of Taken
for Granted podcast as well. Uh got a few things

(00:22):
to uh to get to. Busy day around the NFL
today is uh some news and uh notes abounded. Uh.
The Jets made a trade with the Titans, h picking
up a corner. Titans had a lot of stuff going

(00:43):
on today. The offensive coordinator or brother head coach Brian
Callahan is giving up play calling. Dude, He's giving that
up to quarterbacks coach bo Heart Agree and uh, I
guess yeah. After an ugly start to the season, the
head coach fired himself as the offensive play caller. The
team announced that quarterbacks coach bo Heart Agree will call plays.

(01:06):
Titans offensive coordinator Nick Holts will remain in place, but
he will not be calling the plays, and the reason
for that is that bo Haart Agree has actually called
places before neither Brian Callahan nor Nick Colts had ever
called plays before bo Heart agree has and so that's
the reason that the quarterback coach and not the offensive
coordinator is getting the play calling responsibility out of this one.

(01:29):
Titans course oh and three first overall pick cam Ward
has you know, shown flashes out there, but kind of
struggling with the completion percentage of just fifty four and
a half percent in an NFL high fifteen sacks through
three weeks, so obviously that's got to improve. Callahan went
three and fourteen in his first season as head coached
last year, and there's been a little indication the Titans

(01:52):
are any better this year. So Callahan probably has concerns
the jobs in jeopardy and of Titans going don't get better.
Hopefully he's hoping that harder, get the least jumps start
the offense, and you know, keep him in the keep
him in the conversation as far as as far as
that goes. The Buccaneers have a couple of different things

(02:17):
going on. Mike Evans has a mild to moderate hamstring
strain that was the result of the Mr I that's
a little less than last year's hamstring injury, which caused
it to miss three games before returning after a buye
So all in all, four week injury last year, but
less than that. Evans missed games in nineteen and twenty

(02:38):
one with hamstring injuries, and anyone who's had one knows
that it just takes time to heal, and then when
it seems to be healed, needs even more time to heal.
The Bucks are hosting the Eagles on Sunday. They are
hoping to have receiver Chris god Went back for the
first time since Week seven of last year what he
suffered a serious hankle injury on the Monday night game
against the Baltimore Ravens. And then they've got rookie first

(03:01):
rounder at Mechabuka, who's played pretty well through three games
so far. Other news for the Bucks, who are playing
the aforementioned Eagles, may have made a signing specifically to
not one play defensive tackle Desmond Watson back with the Bucks.
He's a four hundred and fifty pound defensive lineman, Yes

(03:24):
you heard me right in, four hundred and fifty pound
defensive lineman who will be joining the Tampa Bay practice squad.
Gregor Almond of Fox Sports reported. Watson, who went undrafted,
originally signed with the Bucks in April. Despite participating the
offseason program, spent most of training camp of the preseason
on the NFI. Due to his weight and conditioning, The
Bucks released him as part of the late August roster cuts. Then,

(03:46):
obviously the door wasn't closed on return. On Friday, Watson
had to work out with the team. We're told he's
lost significant weight, although we don't have an updated weight
on him. And then he's in much better shape. And
the move comes as the Bucks prepared to face the
Eagles in the Touchbush on Monday. Todd Bowles told reporters
Watson wouldn't be added simply to stop the signature play,

(04:07):
and said that it was unlikely to be ready to
play by Sunday. But who knows that, you know. I mean,
if you're gonna go out there and bring a four
hundred and sixty pound guy back, you kind of figure
you're bringing him back just for that, of all things.
Speaking of the Eagles, Eagles defensive tackle Jordan Davis displayed
what looked like an impossible accommodation this paydent size on Sunday. Davis,

(04:30):
who blocked the Rams potentially game at winning field goal
as time expired, and picked up the ball and ran
it to the end zone, costing yours truly as parlay,
But who's better. According to NFL's next Gen Stats player tracking,
Davis ran eighteen point five nine miles per hour on
the play. I'd be the fastest top speed by any

(04:50):
player over three hundred and thirty pounds since twenty seventeen.
At the twenty twenty two scouting combine, Davis put on
a show measuring six to six and weighing three forty
one and running his forty and four point seven eight
When the combine history is combined for that speed with
that size, the people said at the time that the
defensive tackle never has to run forty yards in a

(05:11):
straight line, And actually he had to run sixty one
straight down the field for the touchdown and nobody could
catch him, so certainly throwing it back in people's faces.
On that one, Vikings quarterback JJ McCarthy has shed the
walking boot as he's trying to get back from the
sprained ankle suffered the Week two lost to the Falcons.
Kevin O'Connell, however, isn't trying to rush him back O'Connell

(05:34):
made it clear today McCarthy will play not only he's
physically ready, but when he's entirely ready. Connall told reporters
first and foremost, he's got to get healthy, and then
I don't think it's one of those things where it's, hey,
he's healthy the night before a game, we're gonna throw
him out there go figure it out. The goal is
to ensure that McCarthy has his full mobility along with
the ability to practice completely. O'Connell pointed out that McCarthy

(05:54):
missed a day of work prior to week two and
well that was more than justifiable because his first child
was born did impact his preparation. O'Connell said, I think
we saw as phenomenal as he was getting prepared for
the Atlanta game. He did misspractice that week, and when
you're the phase of building up the ten thousand reps
in ten thousand hours of what it takes to play
the position at a very high level, which we know

(06:15):
JJ is going to, can't cut corners on them. O'Connell
has denied that the injury amounts to a soft benching.
He said there is value in McCarthy watching veteran Carson
Wentz play. However, sometimes it's the reactionary ability to still
consistently play with the rhythm and the poise and the
decision making and all that becomes much easier when you're
taking the right footwork and you're balanced throughout the drop

(06:37):
and reading with your feet. That can be an incredible
weapon for a quarterback, whether they've played twenty years or
two games. So, in other words, when things start to
go sideways, can they stay true to their fundamentals. Wentz
played pretty well on Sunday. The defense, which scored fourteen
points of its own to set up more, had plenty

(06:58):
to do with that, but he still authored the team's
best offensive performance of the season and hatters and he'll
obviously get another game against the Steelers in Ireland. Perhaps
the one after that against the Browns in London. We'll
see four decision is made as to whether we winsor
McCarthy after the bye. When the team that made wins
the second overall pick back in twenty sixteen, it was
aforementioned Philadelphia Eagles come to town. Some sad news that

(07:25):
came out today. According to TMZ, former NFL running back
Rudy Johnson has died. He was forty five fourth round
pick by the Cincinnati Bengals back in two thousand and one.
He spent seven seasons with the Bengals before finishing his
career in two thousand and eight with the Lions. Johnson
died early this morning by suicide. Johnson became the bengals

(07:49):
top tailback back in two thousand and three, after Corey
Dillon was traded to the Patriots. He gained nine hundred
and fifty seven yards rushing and then had three straight
thousand yard seasons with fourteen fifty four back in four,
fourteen fifty eight and five and thirteen oh nine oh
six had twelve rushing touchdowns each year. Johnson had nine

(08:09):
hundred and seventy nine career rushing yards of puts him
at one hundred and tenth in the league's all time list.
And obviously, we extend our condolences to Rudy Johnson's family, friends, coaches,
and teammates hid down in New Orleans. Twenty years after
folks in New Orleans spend plenty of time worrying about
the Saints leaving town, topic has returned. Jeff Duncan of

(08:30):
the New Orleans Times pickyun reports that a new lease
for the Superdome, which has been fully renegotiated, hasn't been
signed because of pending deals regarding related properties. Other agreements
relate to Benson Tower, Champion Square in the Saints practice facility.
The state predictably wants to sign the Superdome deal before

(08:50):
focusing on other talks. The team, just as predictably, hopes
to leverage the Superdome deal to get better terms on
the three in complete agreements. Tying Benson Tower and being
square to the broader stadium arrangement is not a windfall,
Saints spokeman Grig Bencil told Jeff Duncan, it's the financial
backbone that makes the overall package work in a small
NFL market like New Orleans, So it's less a game

(09:12):
of chests and checkers and more game of chicken. It's
just for the state of Lousiana risk losing the Saints
by driving to horror bargain to the other leases. And
while they argue the article doesn't use such express terms,
Jeff Duncan tweeted out and that tweet is pretty blunt
quote to the future of the team in New Orleans
is at risk. The issue is already cost the team

(09:34):
and the state of shot at hosting the twenty thirty
one Super Bowl, and the stakes become higher if the
possibility of relocation arises. Leads to the question wherever the
Saints go. San Antonio used to be the most mentioned alternative,
but the Texans and Cowboys probably fight against the possibility
of having their two NFL cities become a Bermuda Texas
triangle of Pro football franchises. The London being play probably

(09:59):
not with their tax situation. What about a domestic market
willing to make the Saints stadium offer they couldn't refuse.
The larger markets without NFL teams include Orlando, which already
has Tampa forty minutes down the road, Salt Lake City,
which is not one that's often mentioned, although you know

(10:20):
you've figured the Broncos to fight that one in Oklahoma City,
which would probably be the site that someone like Jerry
would try to sell if San Antonio came up, or
you know, Saint Louis, but there's still probably of acrimony
between that city and the league after the Rams debacle.
Whatever it comes to, you know, we'll be seen, but

(10:44):
both sides need to get that deal done in order
for that to work, and right now he certainly is
not done. Speaking of Jerry, Jerry is expecting new Sunnings
Davian Clowney to play this week. Mike Parson's obviously going
to be on the field for the Packers when Green
Bay comes to Dallas on Sunday night. They're hoping that

(11:04):
j Davian Clowney will as well. Clowney signed with the
Cowboys last week, but did not play in their Week
three loss to the Bears. Defense definitely could have used
some help in that contest. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said
on one to five to three the Fan in Dallas
on Tuesday that he expects Clowney to be on hand
to provide some this week. Jones added via Tommy Yarish
of the Cowboys website that he expects Clowney to Jerry

(11:24):
pash Rush and his debut for the team. He used
to be Parsons' role on the Dallas defense, but obviously
traded to the Packers before the start of the season.
That's helped open the door to Clowney joining the Cowboys,
and while Clouney has downplayed the idea he's filling the
role Parsons played, his new team could use anything he
has to offer this week. Clowney obviously doesn't play the
same position, is really more of a run stop fit

(11:46):
guy than he is a pure pass rusher like Parsons.
But Dallas can really use any help it can get
on defense at this point. Atlanta Falcons, who've already made
some changes after Sunday's blowout thirty nothing lost to the
division rhyme Carol Lota Panthers one thing the club will
not do in response to that game to replaced it
starting quarterback. Apparently. Second year quarterback Michael Pennix Junior completed

(12:09):
only eighteen of thirty six passes for one hundred and
seventy two yards, no touchdowns, and two interceptions of the contest,
one of which was returned for a touchdown, and his
Monday press conference, head coach for Heim Marris noted that
for whatever reason, Pennicks just didn't seem like himself. Via
mars said quote, he was off. I don't want to
take away the fact that he didn't play well, but

(12:29):
there definitely ways to get him going. He heals himself.
He has high standards for himself, so yesterday he definitely
got down on himself. He's definitely not as normal happy.
He competitive self, got a little down on himself, got
a little upset. Different ways we can help bring him back,
and there's other people on our team that can bring
him back. He does have the C on his chest
for a reason, because he's going to walk down the
sideline and bring us back together for him. That's a

(12:50):
lot of stress on a young quarterback, and we can
help him do some of those things, and without a doubt,
we'll do those things moving forward to get him ready
to go. Marris noted that he immediately saw Penix take
cautability for his performance after the game, saying that the
quarterback is particularly critical of himself going forward, Morris says
he feels good about the way Pennix will respond. Morris
also said he's a big time competitor. I'm actually looking

(13:12):
forward to it. You never want to say you're happy
it happened, but I can't wait to see this response.
I'm more encouraged with his behavior today is move it
today for this franchise and for our team than ever.
In three games this season, Pennix has completed a mere
fifty eight point six percent of his passes for six
hundred and five yards with one touchdown, and of course,
the afore mentioned two interceptions. Another week, and of the

(13:36):
gig for Drew Brees, fresh from his guest role on
Fox NFL Sunday, the future Hall of Fame quarterback has
agreed to become a weekly contributor to ESPN's First Take.
According to Barrett Sportsmedia dot Com, Breeze, who worked for
NBC in twenty twenty one, is gradually making a return
to the broadcast space. A not exclusive ESPN deal allows
me to do other things, including calling one of the

(13:57):
Christmas games on Netflix, which seems to be part of it.
A broader strategy vi Breeze to increase his media exposure
in the hopes of landing a prime spot on a
broadcast team. Last month, he told Dan Patrick, I'd step
in the booth right now and be a top three
guy without question. You give me a few years, I
could be the best. It's that same sort of confidence
and competitive fire that made one of the old time greats,

(14:17):
although I think he still has some climbing to do
before he gets there. I remember listening to his broadcast
and not being overly impressed, but then I you know,
I didn't think Tom Brady was all that great his
first year either. He seemed a little bit better this year.
A lot of guys think they can jump right into

(14:37):
it and just aren't. Just aren't there. I'll see, let's
look around here. I got a few other ones. The
Saints are said to be the biggest underdog that they
have been since nineteen seventy five. This week, Saints coming
off blow off, blowout loss to the Seahawks, and of

(14:58):
course the sports books think they're in store for another thumping.
In Week four, they will head to Buffalo to face
the Bills, and the books currently have the Bills favored
by sixteen and a half points in that game and
is the largest spread so far this season, tie for
the ninth largest point spread since the start of the
twenty twenty season. Only one of the biggest eight underdogs

(15:18):
one outright. The Jets beat the Rams in twenty twenty
despite being seventeen point underdogs. Six of the other seven
failed to cover the spread. I looked at Pro Football Reference.
Current point spread would make the Saints the biggest underdogs
they've been in a week. I've been in a game
since Week nine of the nineteen seventy five season, when
they were sixteen and a half point underdogs against the

(15:39):
Minnesota Vikings. They did cover the spread in a twenty
to seven loss. That week, there were no eighteen point
underdog spots. They were eighteen underdogs to the Raiders the
previous week back in seventy five, but they lost that
game forty eight to ten. But the Saints rapidly headed
back to rapidly headed back toward eights territory the way

(16:02):
that they've been, the way they've been playing this year.
When with the Giants benching of Russell Wilson and starting
at Jackson Dart, you know, you kind of think maybe
Russ would be a potential trade candidate to a team
like Cincinnati or a team like New Orleans. Rattler's been
all right, but he's not the future there, and you

(16:22):
want a bridge quarterback to you know, can come in
there and not really win your games. I mean, at
this point, that's sort of what you get out of
Russell Wilson. So I wouldn't be surprised to see if
the Giants try to move him. We'll see. I guess
a lot of that depends on how Jackson Dart does
in his debut, which is no easy feat going up
against the Chargers and their defense for his first start.

(16:45):
Appreciate you guys being along for the ride. We'll get
back into it with NFL news and notes right here
on Broncos Country to Night. We come back right here
on KOA. Welcome back to a Broncos Country Tonight short
show post Rockies. Addition, you guys missed the first hour
of Broncos Country Tonight but the Rockies and go back
and get that on the iHeartMedia app or whatever. Each podcast.

(17:08):
You can also go to Broncos Country Night dot com.
We appreciate you guys, however you listen to the show.
We appreciate how you guys listen. A couple of news
and notes here real quick on the Giants and I'll
get to the Rust thing in a minute. Giants running
back to our own. Tracy's gonna miss a couple of
games after suffering a shoulder injury. Doctors are expecting him

(17:30):
to miss two to four weeks with a dislocated shoulder.
He had been the giants number one running back heading
into Sunday Night, but looks like he might have been
supplanted regardless of health after the fairly strong performance from
rookie camp Scatibo. Scatabo was the best part of the
Giants offense Sunday night, finishing the game ten carries for
sixty yards six catches for sixty one. Likely be the
number one running back against the Chargers and going forward

(17:52):
if he plays at a high level. Devin Singletary, he
has seven touches for twenty yards so far this season.
Probably see a little more action out of him while
Tracy's out going across the city here. Jets quarterback Justin
Fields miss week three's loss to the Buccaneers because of
a concussion. Unclear if he'll be back for Week four.
Head coach Aaron Glenn said that he didn't have updated

(18:13):
information on where Fields was in terms of clearing the
concussion protocol, and that information will be necessary to figuring
out whether Torod Taylor will be making another start this week.
Justin came in as our starter. He's been our starter,
so listen tired was the backup, Glenn said via the
team transcript. So I want to make sure I know
exactly where Justin is at. I don't want to say
anything until I know Justin is cleared. So once Justin

(18:34):
is cleared, I will let you know exactly where we're going.
Fields had a fairly decent game in the season opening
loss to the Steelers, but then struggled against the Bills
before getting hurt. In Week two, Taylor was twenty six
to thirty six one hundreds and ninety seven yards, two
touchdowns and an interception against the Bucks. They also love
us to fumble on a sack in the twenty nine
twenty seven loss. I do want to get into one

(19:03):
thing real quick, and that was the the Ravens field
goal that wasn't reviewable because it was above the upright.
I don't know if you guys saw this during the
Lion's game on a night football. The officials rule that
the Ravens had made a field goal in the fourth quarter,
even though it was clear that it was actually good,

(19:24):
it went over the left upright and that question is
not something that's reviewable. Got a lot of questions about
this online. So field goals and extra point tries can
be reviewed on replay, but they are not reviewable when
the kick is higher than the top of the uprights,
and that's per the NFL's rules. Whether a field goal
or try attempt crossed over above the crossbar and inside
the uprights is reviewable, but only if the ball crosses

(19:46):
the plane of the goal post below the top of
the up rights, or if the ball touches anything. So
what constitutes a ball going inside the uprights When the
ball is higher than the uprights, Well, the whole ball
has to be inside the outer edge, or to be good,
the entire all must pass through the vertical playing of
the goal, which is the area above the crossbar between
the uprights, or if above the uprights between their outside edges.

(20:07):
That's the NFL rulebug no replay angle definitively showed whether
the Ravens field goal was inside the outer edge, or
even if an angle had shown it to play, wasn't
reviewable anyway. So the real solution for the NFL is
to either raise the height of the uprights even higher
than the thirty five feet that they were set at
under the new rule in twenty fourteen. As kickers keep

(20:28):
getting better, field goals pass over the higher uprights even
more frequently. You know, if the officials made a mistake,
the NFL is no way of fixing it. But we've
got to find a way to You know if this
is going to be something that is going to be occurring,
then it's something that we're going to have to figure
out a way to adjudicate. One more thing from the Ravens.

(20:49):
Derek Canry, of course, lost that costly fumble in the
fourth quarter. Afterwards, he said, I got to be better,
got to go back to work. He apologized to his
teammates and coaches. Henry has fumbled in all three games
this season, including lose crucial fumbles in the fourth quarter
both Ravens losses both to the Bills and Week ones,
and the Lions of Week three. Prior to this season,
Derek Henry only had two fourth quarter fumbles his entire career. Henry,

(21:11):
for his part, seemed a bit surprised, saying it's just
a bit crazy. Three fumbles straight. Trying every day to
fix the problem. I'm my worst critic, so I try
to beat myself up too much, but it's hard not
to when I'm consistently doing something. Thirty one year old
Henrys the NFL's active leader in rushing yards when he
arrived in Baltimore last season. He appeared to be rejuvenated,
rushing for twenty one yards last year but the story

(21:33):
of this season is that he's lost fumbles and three
straight games, two of which have been in the Ravens
two losses and were very, very prominent fumbles that certainly
certainly went along with contributing to that. We talked a
little bit about it. Russell Wilson benched Jackson Dark going

(21:54):
to get the start for the New York Giants, Dart's
first start. It's gonna be a home game this Sunday.
It'll be against the unefeated Chargers. The Giants also have
Jameis Winston on the on the roster. Head coach Brian

(22:14):
Dable left open the possibility of making a change when
he said yesterday the team was evaluating everything, refused to
declare Wilson's starter. Wilson struggled and Sunday Nights twenty two
nine loss to Kansas City through FO one hundred and
sixty yards and tossed a pair of interceptions. There was
also a ugly red zone possession late in the contest
where he threw the ball out of bounds, including on
fourth down. It was boomed late in the first half

(22:36):
after the second interception. So the switch to Dart is
a move. It could reinvigorate a disappointed fan base. You know,
fans cheered when when he came on the field for
a snap in the second quarter, contrasted with the booing
after Wilson through a second quarter reception in a tie game.
You know, Dart's been prepping for this moment ever since
the Giants traded back in the first round to get him.

(22:58):
He's done nothing but a bit impressed it's taking the
field back. In the spring, he started with the third
team offense and quickly worked his way past Jameis Winston
early in the summer. His first extended taste of regular
season NFL action will be obviously the Chargers defense that's
currently allowing under three hundred yards a game. Dart will

(23:19):
give the Giants offense a different look and maybe some
more options. His ability to run the ball and do
his own read will we'll have his version of the
offense looked, maybe a little bit different than what you
saw this summer. But he is he is going to
be the starter this Sunday, and so it's going to
be it's going to be interesting to see how he

(23:41):
does and what the leash is on him. If you
make that switch, you kind of got to stick with it.
It's one of those things where you know, you don't
jerk a rookie a round, bring him in, then pull
him back out. So the figures to be it for
us as the starter there, whether or not he gets traded,
whether or not he just remains serious the backup. You
know that that's one of those things. It remains to

(24:01):
be seen. There's been speculation abou Cincinnati or New Orleans,
possibly his destinations for Russell Wilson. We don't know, but
those that's been speculated. One of the weirder things today,
in a day of moves, the Texans released safety CJ.
Gardner Johnson. In three starts, Garter Johnson had fifteen tackles,

(24:24):
no interceptions or pass breakups. The Texans, who traded their
twenty twenty two first round pick left guard Kenyon Green
to the Philadelphia Eagles for Gardner Johnson back in March,
hope to add a ballhawk and Garter Johnson had six
interceptions last year for the Eagles and their march to
the Super Bowl title. Garter Johnson has struggled to pick

(24:46):
up to bek O Ryan's defensive scheme, which has contributed
to several big plays against the secondary through the first
three weeks for the Texans, who are zero to three
on the season. Yesterday, Ryan's was asked about the com
munication between his secondary's players, admitting it had been great.
When you see a big play that happens on our
defense in a bust in communication, it starts with communication,

(25:09):
headman as crisp as it needs to be. We have
to make some adjustments out there to get it corrected.
At each of the Texans three losses has been by
seven points or less the minimum. He allowed three big
plays in those games that have contributed to opposing offense
scoring touchdowns, struggle consistently to guard the correct opposing player
when they were running match, and struggles that have occurred

(25:32):
during walkthroughs in the lead up the games. Matt Stafford
threw a thirteen yard touchdown to tight end Davis Allen
ran a corner route in the end zone Gardner Johnson
was responsible for. In Week one, Texans corner Kamari las
Yer tried to clean up the coverage bust but wasn't
able to run down Allen. Houston lost that game fourteen
to nine, and we two Tampa quarterback Baker Mayfield threw

(25:52):
an over to wide out Ryan Miller for a twenty
yard touchdown. The Texans were in cover two, which obviously
required and Johnson to cover the deep right half of
the field, and instead he jumped a ten yard in
breaking her out from white out Sterling Shepherd, exposing the
deep path and Miller scoring the reception. The Texans lost
that one twenty nineteen, and then last week against the Jags,

(26:13):
Gardner Johnson made a crucial mistake with the game not
at ten to ten the fourth quarter, jumping and outbreaking
her out by Parker Washington when he was responsible for
anything over the middle of the field. Jacks quarterback Trevor
Lawrence pounced on the mistake and hit Brian Thomas on
a post for a forty six yard reception down to
the Houston ten yard line. Houston would then allow Jags
running back Travis atiena score a play later, and the

(26:35):
damage was done. Texans unable to find the end zone
and they fell seventeen to ten, compounding the coverage busts.
Gardner Johnson refused to take responsibility for his mistakes, rubbed
his teammates are wrong way, one member of the team
saying finger pointed instead of owning up. The Texans are
hosting the Tennessee Titans on Sunday and both teams are
zero and three. Texans are hoping getting that out will

(26:57):
improve the chemistry and bring them back into the win column.
I mentioned it off the top, I wanted to get
back to it that the Jets had traded for a
corner traded for Jarvis Brownlee Junior, who had been a
starter for the Titans. They got Browne and a seventh

(27:18):
round pick in exchange for a sixth round pick. Brownlee's
recovering from an ankle injury, but could push braind and
Stevens for the starting job opposite Sauce Gardner. If nothing else,
he gives him a backup starting experience. Brandon Stevens was
a pricey offseason addition, but allowed a touchdown pass and
missed three tackles in Sunday's twenty nine, twenty seven loss

(27:39):
to the Tampa Bay Box that dropped je just oh
and three. Steven's the former Ravens starter who signed a
three year, thirty six million dollar deals a free agent,
but has struggled so far. The outside corners behind Stevens
and Gardner are pretty inexperienced. Rookie Ezra Thomas, and second
earplayer Countest Stickers. Brownlee will be reunited with Jets passing
game coordinator Chris how Grus, who held the same title

(28:01):
last season for the Titans. Jets so far this season
right twenty ninth, then scoring defense and coming off a
game in which they failed to protect the lead in
the final two minutes. Coach Aaron Glenn didn't mention names,
but he noted Monday that players were caught out a
position in the game and lamented the tackling issues, saying
we're going to look at that as a staff. We're
going to talk about those things. We're going to fix
those issues. Brownlee, who was a fifth round pick in

(28:25):
twenty twenty four by the Titans, started seventeen games for
the Tennessee as a rookie last season. Started the first
two games this year before an ankle injury kept him
from playing last week. He suffered the injury in practice
and was in a walking boot over the weekend. In
nineteen games, Brownly has ninety two tackles, ten passes defended
one interception. He is known for his aggressive coverage that
at times cost him penalties. Slagged fourteen times for total

(28:48):
of fifty seven yards. Last season, it's been called for
legal contact sixteen yard pass interference at a fifteen yard
face mask in only two games this year. Titans claimed
corner Jalen Armar David off waivers after he was released
by the Ravens during final cutdowns to the fifty three
earlier this month. An Armer Davis started at left corner
and praise probably last week he played seventeen snaps before

(29:11):
giving away to Daryl Baker Junior, who played thirty six.
So a lot of stuff going on in New York
as they continue to reshuffle both teams, they need to
be bad, but as they continue to try to reshuffle
and get back to being competitive. Former Seattle Seahawks corner
Richard Sherman received a deferred prosecution and is ongoing dui case.

(29:35):
Spokesman for King County Prosecuting Attorney General's Office said the
King County District Court judge on Tuesday granted a request
by Sherman's attorney for the defer prosecution, which means a
charge is suspended in exchange for the defendant agreeing to
meet certain court requirements. Under Washington state law, a defendant
who requested deferd prosecution must state that their conduct was

(29:56):
the result of a substance use disorder or a mental problem,
and a read to two years of treatment. Court does
not proceed with charges if the terms of the agreement
are met. Not the court used a bench trial to
determine guilt and Washington, a defer prosecution comes with a
five year probationary period and counts as a prior offense
in future dui prosecution. Sherman was charged with dui back

(30:17):
in June in connection with a February twenty twenty four
arrest when allegedly registered a blood alcohol level of round
point one point one, which is above the state's legal
limited point oh eight, after being pulled over for speeding
as part of a separate incident. He pled guilty in
twenty twenty two to Neglan's driving in the first degree
in criminal trespass and the second degree. Those misdemeanor charges

(30:38):
stem from a July twenty twenty one incident in which
he allegedly drove his SUV into a closed construction site,
fled the scene, and then attempted to break down the
door of his in laws home. Sherman, who's thirty seven,
made the Pro Bowl five times during an eleven year
NFL career, was a remember the fame legion of Boom
defense at up the Seahawks whin Super Bowl against the Broncos.

(30:58):
Last played for Tampa and to twenty eleven, and began
working as an analyst for Amazon Prime broadcasts of Thursday
night NFL games Back in twenty twenty two. Terry McLaren
seeking additional opinions on his injured quad. His status for
Sunday's game in Atlanta's uncertain. If he can't play, we'd

(31:20):
a had to a growing list of injuries for the two
and one commanders who aren't sure about quarterback Jad and
Daniels availability for the Falcons game either. Daniels did not
play in the forty one to twenty four win over
the Raiders on Sunday, and his status is uncertain for Sunday,
and coach Dan Quinn said he'd have more information on Wednesday,
after allowing for doctors to treat them or, in McLaren's case,

(31:40):
to get more information. McLaurin injured his squad with four
minutes forty seven seconds left in the third quarter versus
the Raiders, lunged for the end zone to try to
complete a fifty seven yard touchdown catch and run, but
cornerback kayblu Kelly grabbed a miss. McLaurin twisted to the
right side and dove. Officials initially ruled it a touchdown.
McLaren bounced up to supperate celebrate. Replay overturned the score.

(32:01):
I'll be Washington the ball at the one yard line,
where it scored for a thirty four to ten lead.
Mclauren did not return to the game, but jogged to
the end zone after receiver Luke McCaffrey caught his first
career touchdown pass. Mclauren hasn't missed a game since Week
sixteen of the twenty twenty season. That's a streak of
seventy two consecutive regular season games, s ten catches, one

(32:23):
hundred and forty nine yards, no touchdowns this season after
missing old training camp due to a contract situation that
wasn't resolved until he signed an extension August twenty fifth.
If you can't play, that's another blow to the Commander's offense.
Tight End John Bates has a groid issue. Receiver Noah
Brown didn't play versus the Raiders. They lost running back
Austin Eckler for Achilles for the season, and they're still
awaiting their return of starting right guard Sam Cosmi, who

(32:45):
remains on the pup while recovering for a torn acl
in January. Also had to put three defensive players on
the into reserve Deatrich Wise, Jonathan Jones, and Will Harris
as well. We'll get the update on him and Jayden
Daniels for your fantasy stuff later on this week. And
even though we don't have a game on Sunday for
the Broncos as they're obviously playing Monday Night Football against

(33:05):
the Bengals, we will do the opening line of Fantasy
football shows from nine to eleven am myself Ryan Edwards,
so guys, we get all the latest and greatest there
as well. Some frustrating defeats around the league, but I
think nothing more frustrating than Denver losing twenty three twenty

(33:27):
the Chargers after having a seven point lead with five
minutes to go. Sean Payton, trusted the Chargers would be
expecting something close to the sticks, dialed up a vertical shot.
It got Courtland Sutton on one of them, but couldn't
get Sutton or Mims on two other three others the Broncos.

(33:51):
Of course, Well, I don't want to get back into
this because I tried to explain this to Nick and
Steve last night. It's got a little frustrating with me
because the broadcast should have gone forward on fourth and
a half yard. It doesn't matter if you're your twenty nine,
doesn't matter if you're back up. You had a seven
point lead, and the objective there is, you know, what's

(34:13):
the math on if you get the half yard? What's
the math on how much they have to get a touchdown?
They can't settle for a field goal with five minutes
remaining twenty nine yards out, So you knew they were
going to do that, and that was going to give you,
even if they tied it, last opportunity with the ball,
be able to try to kick a field goal to
win it. Instead, they punt, allow the Chargers to march

(34:34):
down a field, get a touchdown, and then they can't
get anything going on offense. The Chargers march down and
get the game winning field goal instead of creating a
two for one, wound up choking the game. Way we'll
get more into that a little bit later. Appreciate you
