Speaker 1 (00:00):
Grant Smith back there behind the glass wearing his finest
Nathaniel Ratelift in the Night Sweats T shirt.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
Wait, that's a Colorado Symphony. Sorry, Daniel Ratelyft with the
Colorado Symphony.

Speaker 1 (00:09):
Coloro Symphony, amazing show stand corrected five six six, nine
zeros and text line. If you want to tell Grant
he's got an onf some shirt or not. Either way,
we will go with the Monday night football. Excuse me,
Thursday night football caught up here just a little bit.
Forty nine ers at the Rams, the Niners missing basically everything,
and the Rams on on all cylinders here.

Speaker 3 (00:33):
One thing to keep your eye on. Rams defensive coordator.

Speaker 1 (00:35):
Chris Shula started to get a little bit of run
in coaching circles as far as maybe being a maybe
being a guy who's going to get some head coaching
run here soon. I don't know if this offseason cycle
will be the cycle for him because he just does
not have a ton of decision making executive experience in.

Speaker 2 (00:51):
A DC role.

Speaker 1 (00:52):
But he's a he's a guy whose name's getting getting
bandied around, So somebody keep your eye on with what
he's been able to do in turning that rain MS
defense uh into a much more aggressive unit than it
used to be with Brandon Staley or anything like that.

Speaker 3 (01:07):
And with what they've been able to do is so
keep your eye on that. There's something something to keep
your eye on there.

Speaker 2 (01:11):
Who's a high who is a better coaching candidate for
this cycle? Him or Jesse mintter.

Speaker 1 (01:16):
Mitcher mintor Will mintor will get a head coach because
he has a little more experience. I mean, Mentor's got
like nine years of executive experience. He's been a defensive
coordinator both the collegiate and at the pro level. He's
multiple years at each, you know, and there's there's something
to be said for having some sort of executive experience
before you, before you become a coach, before you become

(01:37):
a head coach, and having a taste of that. And
so it's less about it's hard to being a head coach,
less about having ever been a play caller, and more
about having some sort of decision making authoritative experience because people,
you know, you expect to be a leader, and if
you don't have leadership experience, you know, annie at all,
that can be a.

Speaker 3 (01:55):
Tough tough ask.

Speaker 1 (01:57):
Ask ask Nate Hackett about that.

Speaker 3 (02:01):
So it's it's you know, it's it's one of those
things to keep right with.

Speaker 1 (02:03):
Jesse Minter will probably be the next head coach of
the Miami Dolphins. That's not to say that you know
that they won't go out there and do due diligence
on anybody else, but I from what I understand, he's
the favorite in the clubhouse for that job.

Speaker 2 (02:15):
So no matter what happens with the Dolphins rest of
this year, you think Mike McDaniel's gone.

Speaker 1 (02:20):
I mean, unless they make the playoffs, they're gone, which
it doesn't look so that staff knew coming into the season.
They were told that they had to make the playoffs
or they were gonna they were gonna reset and change direction,
and thus far it does not look like they are
head in that direction. Who knows, they could rattle off
eight nine in a row and then all of a
sudden we're saying something different.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
But as it.

Speaker 1 (02:38):
Sits right now, the Dolphins do not be look like
they're headed that way.

Speaker 3 (02:42):
Several coach is probably going to be gone at the
end of the year.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
Usually, you know, we usually see somewhere between five and
eight vacancies each year in the NFL, and I think
we could spot some of them right away.

Speaker 3 (02:55):
You know, Miami's pretty obvious.

Speaker 1 (02:57):
The Giants will see that that's on that short list,
the Browns will see it's on the short list, the
Bengals will see that's on the short list.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
Tennessee some mistake if they at the Bengals move on.
But that's just my humble opinion.

Speaker 1 (03:09):
And maybe and they may not, but that's I'm just saying, like,
you look at this, the Titans are going to be
moving on from Brian Callahan after one year, barring a
miraculous tarrellos two years.

Speaker 3 (03:19):
I mean he was there last year, was he? Oh
they were terrible last year too.

Speaker 2 (03:25):
Enough of that experiment. Yeah, uh.

Speaker 1 (03:27):
And I would not be surprised if Mike Kafka ends
up being the guy for the Titans.

Speaker 3 (03:34):
They want a quarterback developer.

Speaker 1 (03:36):
Kafka is the guy who helped develop Pat Maholmes, helped
develop Josh Allen uh and is now helping to develop
Jackson Dart uh. So they want a quarterback developer there
in Tennessee, and he would be that guy. He's got
a relationship with the with the GM Mike Porgonzi from
their time in Kansas City.

Speaker 4 (03:52):
Together.

Speaker 1 (03:52):
I knows Chad Brisker, the VP of the President of
Football Operations, so I would not be surprised if Mike
Kaka winds up being the next head coach of the
Tennessee Titans, when and if they move on from Brian Callham.
Tonight's game, Niners at Rams. This game started off with
the Rams laying one and a half.

Speaker 4 (04:08):
It's all.

Speaker 1 (04:09):
We had the Rams minus eight right now, even at
minus eight, fifty nine percent of bets, sixty seven percent
of money on the Rams minus eight. The over under dropped,
precipitous lease started at forty seven and a half down
of forty three and a half, fifty nine percent bets,
sixty percent.

Speaker 3 (04:23):
Of money on the under.

Speaker 1 (04:24):
And this one and on the buddy line, everybody's on
the Rams ninety one percent of bets, ninety one percent
of money on the Rams at minus four to twenty.
It's a heavily bet game, by the way, look at
right now and this book alone has taken two hundred
and sixty nine thousan five hundred and eighty bets as
of that, as of me typing that, what's it typically
for a Thursday night game? Well, to put that in

(04:45):
perspective right now, the Vikings Browns game on Sunday. The
average game on Sunday currently has about twenty five thousand
bets on it. That's that's high for a Thursday. And
I usually around one hundred and fifty to two hundre
a thousand at this book, So there's a lot of bets.

Speaker 4 (05:02):
Coming in on this.

Speaker 3 (05:02):
I guess a lot of people are kind.

Speaker 2 (05:03):
Of hammering this. Rams.

Speaker 1 (05:06):
Think the Rams are gonna win with the Niners being
so shorthanded. I think the Niners are gonna cover. We'll
see tough divisional game. They always play each other tough. Yeah,
but I mean it just sound like Ryan Edwards right now,
but positive blanket Edwards. Who's uh, who's catching the ball
for him?

Speaker 2 (05:22):
Yeah, that's a good question.

Speaker 1 (05:23):
I mean it's DeMarcus Robinson of Kendrick Born and the
starting receivers.

Speaker 3 (05:26):
Tongus is the tight end. I mean, who's who's catching that?

Speaker 2 (05:28):
But Mac Joels?

Speaker 3 (05:29):
Who Mac Dales throwing the ball?

Speaker 1 (05:31):
That?

Speaker 3 (05:32):
I don't know. Man, it looks like a recipe for
disaster to be But at the end.

Speaker 2 (05:35):
Of the day, who knows.

Speaker 3 (05:36):
It could be uh could be going the other direction.

Speaker 1 (05:39):
Five six, six, nine, Zeros in Texas loast.

Speaker 3 (05:41):
Six four to six. I'll be right behind the Broncos
bench Sunday, Ben, let's go.

Speaker 2 (05:43):
I think we can win this game. I love the optimism.

Speaker 1 (05:48):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (05:48):
Three eighty five Stacy from Utah. All I know is
I'm bleeping hyped. Okay, I'm glad you guys.

Speaker 2 (05:54):
Have the optimism. I need I need some of that.

Speaker 3 (05:56):
I need I need you guys to pass.

Speaker 1 (05:58):
I need you get to take two puffs of that
optimism in the past because I'm not.

Speaker 3 (06:01):
I am not feeling it. I am not there you go.

Speaker 1 (06:06):
I'm not feeling the way you guys are. And I
want to. I want to be I want to be
bought it. I want to be feeling it. It'd be
real nice to be going to London playing the Jets
at three and two and get out to maybe four
and two, coming home with the with the Giants on deck,
and then you're then you're in the driver's seat. But
I mean, I don't know. I went back and I
looked at Eagles tape this morning. There is something wrong
with that offense, like there is there there's something whatever

(06:29):
it is that they're trying to do. Uh, they are
upsetting their receiving corps by basically just ignoring them. And
you know, I don't I don't know, like it's tough
for me to put my finger on exactly what the
issue is other than the offensive coordinator just doesn't just
whatever he's designing here is is struggling a bit. But

(06:53):
defensively they are still you know, and they still got
plenty of weapons.

Speaker 5 (06:56):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (06:56):
Just the offenses feels like it's in first gear. Actively.
They got a ton And I'm worried.

Speaker 1 (07:01):
About the interior of our offensive line against them. That's
that's the biggest matchup portion that I think I'm I
think I'm worried about, especially with Wattenberg up against what's
his face there, Jalen Carter. Uh yeah, Carter and Davis.
Those guys they you know, they got on the inside.

Speaker 2 (07:18):
Alen Carter and Jordan Davis are two enormously huge human
beings that can move strong.

Speaker 3 (07:24):
Fast, and enormous.

Speaker 1 (07:25):
Yeah, and uh are you know, I'm just a little
worried about Wattenberg with that matchup.

Speaker 3 (07:33):
You will see, We'll see about that.

Speaker 1 (07:35):
I'm not worried about the secondary because they don't really
throw the receivers in this offense. But you got J
Brown Demonte Smith, and you're like, you know what, the
backup tight end of the crosser.

Speaker 2 (07:44):
We'd hate to see them get right against the Broncos.
I would, but we don't.

Speaker 3 (07:48):
We shouldn't have to worry about that matter of fact.

Speaker 1 (07:50):
Uh KAE Sports sat down and talked with one of
our corners, right the boss.

Speaker 3 (07:56):
Enter back, Riley Moss. Riley're on with Dave Logan and
Ryan Edwards. How are you?

Speaker 4 (08:00):
How are you? We're doing good, Robbie, appreciate the time.

Speaker 6 (08:02):
So you go from the Bengals pair to the Eagles,
I mean a little bit different stylistically, but talk a
little bit about the matchup with AJ Brown DeVante Smith
and maybe how they differ in terms of what they
present as problems to to you and and also to Pat.

Speaker 7 (08:20):
Yeah, you know it's it'll be a good test for
us obviously, you know, coming from what we had last
week to to this week with these guys. Biggest thing,
you know, Aj top of the route. You know you're
gonna get the push offs and stuff.

Speaker 4 (08:32):
You gotta be.

Speaker 8 (08:32):
Strong, and then you know the other guy, you gotta you.

Speaker 7 (08:36):
Gotta be able to run a little bit. He's gonna
take the top off, he's he's a little bit more.

Speaker 8 (08:42):
Consistent, I would say with his routes and.

Speaker 7 (08:45):
Aj is so just being good with your eyes and stuff.

Speaker 4 (08:48):
You know.

Speaker 7 (08:48):
Really it runs through their offense, runs through the back.
But at the same time, you know you've got to
be ready for you know, the block up two man
routes with those guys too.

Speaker 5 (08:57):
So you guys had a pretty tough test this last
week with the two ride receivers you saw, and I
know that ultimately they're not have they didn't have Joe
Burrow out there, so that is part of the equation.
But you faced off against t Higgins last year late
in the season.

Speaker 3 (09:13):
That was quite the battle.

Speaker 2 (09:14):
When you came into this matchup.

Speaker 5 (09:16):
What did you learn from your first one that you
were able to take into the one you had just
on Sunday.

Speaker 7 (09:21):
Yeah, you know, being stronger, being consistent, and finishing. You know,
I was proud of myself of you know, being sticky
this week or last week.

Speaker 8 (09:29):
I should say, you know, and.

Speaker 7 (09:32):
Making them make a play on me, you know what I mean.
So early, you know, he caught that fadeball on me,
but you know, just kept kept playing and then kept
sticky and and you know, we we had a good
plan and and uh, you know it worked out. So
the biggest thing, I think the biggest takeaway was just
being able to be consistent and you know, finish the place.

Speaker 6 (09:52):
Well, we're talking with Broncos quarterback Riley Riley Moss and
when you talk about again those two Philadelphia receivers and
and obviously this is team that loves to run the ball.
Then he said, when they when they decide to block
it up and go with the two man route, it
requires you guys to play in coverage longer. But I
want to get back to AJ Brown. He's kind of

(10:12):
a to me at least, he's kind of a unique
wide receiver. He doesn't really look like a wide receiver.
He looks more like a small tied end. But he
in terms of physicality and some of the guys that
you have gone against when you see AJ Brown, is
that maybe the most sort of impressive thing about him

(10:32):
as a wide receiver?

Speaker 7 (10:34):
Oh yeah, you know obviously, you know when you're two
twenty five and you can run like that and got
breaks like that, you know, it poses poses a threat
and it's important I think to you know, win the
line and squeezing the sideline when you're getting those nine
balls and stuff. So you know, the biggest thing I
think is is matching his physicality, especially.

Speaker 2 (10:53):
At the top of the route.

Speaker 5 (10:55):
It was I forget who said it after the game,
but they were talking about how much you really like
and Roles revel in that teams are going to target
you and then they're going to come after you every
single game. I mean, I guess there's a bit of
a mindset of the cornerback, right. You know that there's
gonna be, Hey, you're gonna get a couple of wins
against me, but over the longevity of our game, you
feel like that you belong and you're going to get

(11:15):
those wins.

Speaker 3 (11:16):
The mentality that where does that come from?

Speaker 7 (11:18):
Uh, you know, I think it's just how I was
raised and how I came up. You know, I've always
had that competitive spirit and and that you know, never
back down spirit, and I think, you know, it's kind
of carried me throughout my entire career and and.

Speaker 8 (11:33):
You know it's what It's why I'm so good at
what I.

Speaker 7 (11:36):
Do, you know, being able to forget something, you know
negative that happens and continue to do my job and
I get phased with you know, some negative stuff that
might happen. So I think, uh, I think just being
gritty and and you know, just playing ball and having
a short memory.

Speaker 5 (11:50):
Last couple here for you, so kind of a quarter
pole question here for you with the defense, How do
you guys feel like you've sort of responded over the
last two weeks to the win against Cincinnati and where
you're at in the season defensively, Yeah, I like where
we're at.

Speaker 8 (12:05):
You know, we're we're we're approaching practice well, you know.

Speaker 7 (12:08):
We're trying to pick something up every day, right, so
just getting one percent better every day, and you know,
throughout the course of the season, you know, you got
to you got to be able to get better each week.
And you know, coming off a Monday night game, you know,
we have a shorter week, and so you've got to
be a little bit, you know, a little bit more.

Speaker 8 (12:24):
Dialed in and what you're doing and what you're.

Speaker 7 (12:26):
Trying to accomplish. So I like where we're at, and
you know.

Speaker 8 (12:29):
We got the guys. You know, like a lot of
guys have said, like, we have the guys.

Speaker 7 (12:33):
In the room to do it. And on the defensive side,
you know, a lot of guys who were just gritty
and go out and do their job and are laser focused.

Speaker 4 (12:41):
Riley, last question for me.

Speaker 6 (12:42):
You've got the same defensive coordinator from last year, advanced
Joe so Finn. Just maybe a thing or two that
that feels different to you about this year's edition of
the Broncos defense after after four games as compared to
maybe some of the play from last year.

Speaker 7 (12:58):
Yeah, you know, I think the biggest for us, you know,
and I'll speak for the back end, is our communication has.

Speaker 8 (13:03):
Been a lot better since last year.

Speaker 7 (13:07):
You know.

Speaker 8 (13:07):
I think a lot of guys trust each other.

Speaker 4 (13:09):
You know.

Speaker 7 (13:10):
Obviously, you know we've had we had VJ last year,
we have them.

Speaker 4 (13:13):
This year.

Speaker 7 (13:14):
We've really dialed into things that we need to dial
in that we were, you know, messing up maybe last year.
We've perfected and continue to perfect some of the things
we're still need to work on. But I think it's
a big trust factor and just the guys that we
have and we all trust each other, and it makes
us play that much faster.

Speaker 5 (13:32):
Very quickly, before I let you go, Susie Ward and
our sideline reporter for the Broncos broadcast, interviewed you about
your coffee choice, and I just wanted to tell you
a tip of the cap, sir. Pumpkins spice latte is
a fantastic choice, and I fully, I fully support that.

Speaker 8 (13:48):
I appreciate it.

Speaker 4 (13:48):
Thank you.

Speaker 6 (13:49):
I'm not even gonna I'm not even gonna jump in
and save this. Riley, Listen, we appreciate the time.

Speaker 5 (13:54):
Man.

Speaker 4 (13:54):
We'll look forward to calling the game in Philly.

Speaker 2 (13:56):
Yeah, thank you, guys, I appreciate it. That is a
Riley Voss.

Speaker 1 (14:01):
That was ka sports interview with Ryley Moss and uh
Ryan trying to squeeze that big pumpkin agenda into the
interview always has to just this shameless uh as far
as that goes five, six, six times zero is the
text line. A lot of you guys, uh seem to
seem to belief in the Broncos this weekend. I'm happy

(14:23):
you guys. I'm happy you guys are there. I need
some of that.

Speaker 3 (14:25):
Maybe I just need another day to let it marinate.

Speaker 4 (14:27):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (14:27):
See what two one seven says, Pat Mahomes won a
Super Bowl with three of the receivers that the.

Speaker 3 (14:31):
Niners have tonight.

Speaker 1 (14:32):
Yeah, that's because he's Pat Mahomes and not Mac Jones.

Speaker 2 (14:34):
Who Mac Jones?

Speaker 1 (14:38):
I uh, yeah, I'll take Pat Mahomes and those receivers
before I'll take Mac Jones and those receivers.

Speaker 3 (14:44):
But we'll see the Niners opening drive.

Speaker 1 (14:46):
It looks like they're uh and make it some moves,
so we'll see see if they're able to pull it off,
able to get it able to get it done there and.

Speaker 2 (14:56):
I don't know, Hey, maybe we're seeing the resurgence of
Mac Jones, right.

Speaker 3 (15:02):
The guy that you know they did want all along.

Speaker 1 (15:04):
They By the way, that Born identity joke I made,
that was Kendrick Born in the big long pass right there.

Speaker 2 (15:08):
Yeah, that was not one of your better efforts. All right, Well,
maybe work on that one.

Speaker 3 (15:12):
I got two references in one.

Speaker 2 (15:13):
Yeah, it doesn't mean it was funny, guys.

Speaker 4 (15:18):
You killing me.

Speaker 1 (15:19):
I'm out here over a hot stove all day, cooking
up your jokes, cooking up these uh cooking up.

Speaker 3 (15:26):
This humor for you guys, and it's just it's wasted
on my audience.

Speaker 2 (15:29):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (15:30):
We got a big show, and Rick lou is going
to join us here bottom of the hour. Get chance
to maybe get him to pump me up a little
bit of what the funk.

Speaker 2 (15:36):
That's what you need. The optimistic Rick Louse.

Speaker 5 (15:38):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (15:38):
Rick's always good for that. That's what I need. I
need Rick Lewis to pump me up here, get me,
get me going. We got was it seven o'clock? I
think we had brat Spielberger on seven seven thirty, Okay,
seven thirty, Brass Bielberger is gonna come on.

Speaker 3 (15:50):
Brad's uh just got his NFL agent's license.

Speaker 1 (15:53):
And one of the things I want to do with
you guys, you start having guys on to walk you
through with the actual jobs some of these guys are
and what the process.

Speaker 2 (16:02):
Is like to become these things.

Speaker 1 (16:03):
So you know how we've had Randy Mueller on before
he's a general manager.

Speaker 2 (16:08):
We've had guys that are scouts or whatever else.

Speaker 1 (16:10):
Well, then we'll start to solve with Brad who just
got his agent license, so he'll be able to walk
you guys through what it's like to get your license
to become an NFL A. I will tell you it's
an arduous process, an expensive process, and you know that
doesn't always pan out with with you making money. The
cool thing about Brad his the friend that he works

(16:31):
for reps Q Robinson, our draft at Hugh Robinson, so
you know, he can talk to us a little bit
about that and that process as well. So we'll have
a west opportunity to get into that. I believe we'll
do an NFL six pack at seven and then we've
got most prime time coming up at eight o'clock tonight,
So a little bit of a truncated show real quick,
because we're probably not going to get to talk about

(16:51):
it again.

Speaker 2 (16:52):
How you feeling about the Buffs this weekend down in Texas?
Not good me either.

Speaker 1 (16:58):
TCUs got a couple of a couple of edge rushers
there that I worry about, giving uh that Colorado offensive
line fits. What I will say is the c offensive
line's got a little bit better. And somebody pointed out
that the problem may not have been the line. Problem
may have been Schador Sanders hanging on in the football
too long, and as we're seeing in the pro game
some of those preseason games, him running, you know, running
away from protection in an effort to buy time to

(17:21):
get Travis Hunter the ball.

Speaker 2 (17:22):
By the way, Jake Tungus touchdown forty nine ers.

Speaker 1 (17:27):
Yeah, they went eight plays, seventy two yards in four
minutes fifty one seconds there to open it up. I
might have been wrong about the Niners. Might be eating
a plate of crow, might be eating playing the crow grab.
We'll see if Rick Lewis can get me hyped out
and we come back. Broncos Country Night, You're on. Kiawah
had color analyst of the Denver Broncos Rick Lewis, ask

(17:47):
him what the funk is going on?

Speaker 4 (17:49):
Rick? Yeah, man, Ricky Lou and Benji too in the
funky bunch. That's rit Smith. Good to be with you.
I'll tell you what the funk. Ben I hear you're
feeling too confident about this game coming up on Sunday.
I tell me not.

Speaker 8 (18:04):
Man.

Speaker 1 (18:04):
I need rock Lewis to play me a lullla by
here because I am.

Speaker 3 (18:07):
I'm sleeping on this thing.

Speaker 4 (18:08):
I am.

Speaker 1 (18:08):
I am for whatever reason, I keep going back and
watching this looking for a spark of hope, and I
keep falling short.

Speaker 3 (18:14):
Man, I keep falling short. I keep looking at this
thing thinking we're gonna lose.

Speaker 4 (18:18):
Well, for me, it started as a feeling, and then
the feeling continued to grow the more I look into it.
The Eagles are pretty lucky to be four and oh,
and the Broncos are pretty unlucky to be two and
two when you look at it, the Eagles have more
three and outs than any other team in the National

(18:39):
Football League. But here's why they're winning. Here's why they're
four and oh. They are the top team in the
red zone on offense eleven for eleven on offense. That
never happens. This Broncos defense is one of the best
defenses in the league. They're not gonna They're not going
to convert every red zone opportunity into a touchdown this week.

(19:03):
They're going to be kicking some field goals this time.
They're also really good in the red zone on defense,
but they're a ben don't break defense. They haven't been
that good on both sides of the ball. Yet they're
four to ozho because of their red zone prowess. Broncos
I feel like have gotten better every week, and I
think they got a lot of confidence after that Monday

(19:23):
night game against Cincinnati. There's just a lot of I
think there's a lot of reasons to be optimistic that
this is going to be a competitive and close game
all the way to the end. The Eagles had a
tough game against Tampa Bay. They're a little bit beat
up they're a little beat up in the secondary as well.
And sat Quan Barkley, he's have a hard time getting started.

(19:46):
Teams have been stacking the box against the Eagles and
stopping Barkley, and they haven't been able to really figure
out what to do in the passing game. So these
teams just keep stacking the b on them and making
Jalen hurtspeed them. Well, they're four and oh all right,
so obviously they're doing something right. Jalen Hurts doesn't turn

(20:08):
the ball over. The more I look at this, the
better I feel about it. Ben. I think it's a
three point game, which means it can go anyway. It
can go either direction. At the end of the game,
a field goal is going to win this game.

Speaker 3 (20:22):
Well, I hope you're right, Rick.

Speaker 1 (20:23):
And as we look at the betting lines, looks like
it's back out to four and a half now. Fifty
five percent of bets are on the Eagles, but sixty
five percent of the money's on the Broncos. That means
the sharp stew believe the Broncos at least cover on
the money line, though the public rough Man it's rough
ninety five percent of tickets and ninety eight percent.

Speaker 2 (20:40):
Of money on the Eagles in this one.

Speaker 3 (20:42):
I'm starting to warm up a little. I'm here and yeah,
I'm feeling what you're picking up, what you're putting down
as I look at this.

Speaker 1 (20:49):
I mean the big stumbling block to me for the
Eagles use the fact that they just can't get that
offense going. You're right, there's something missing since Kellen Moore's
been gone. They can't get the receivers incorporated. And I
don't think that this is going to be they're going
to write that ship going up against Patching Tan and
Riley Moss. My questions lie in the areas that we've
been a little exposed, and that's with the protection at

(21:09):
the center position up against the two guys too, interior
alignment that they have guys like Jeordan Davis and Jalen.

Speaker 3 (21:14):
Carter, and how we hold up in those situations.

Speaker 4 (21:18):
Yeah, Jalen Carter is a beast in the middle of
that defensive line, no doubt about it. He's got a
shoulder problem. He missed in practice this week. He will
play on Sunday, but he's saying there's something wrong with
his shoulder, like this is something serious. They don't know
what it is yet, but he's going to seek out
another opinion, is what he's telling people. That being said, yes,

(21:43):
I think the weak point for the Denver Broncos is
that center position in Wattenberg. He needs to get better,
and he needs to get better fast, because the interior
line of that Philadelphia Eagles defense is really really stout.
You know, I've been thinking maybe they might want to

(22:04):
give Alex Forthsite some snaps here this week and maybe
just kind of ease him into it and see how
he looks. I thought when he had a chance to
play before, I thought he looked pretty good. But yeah,
that's going to be an issue. The Broncos are gonna
have to give him some help in the interior line.
Quinn Miners today showed up on the injury report with

(22:27):
an illness. That's not a good thing, but you would
think by Sunday he would be good to go. You know,
I think that the Broncos stacked the box and shut
down the run game because I think that's how you
beat this team and then shut down one of their
two receivers. Paser Taan's going to lock down either aj
Brown or DeVante Smith. So if you can take Barkley

(22:50):
out and say AJ Brown out. That leaves maybe Goddards,
maybe Smith to beat you. And I like our chances.
I like our chances in that situation.

Speaker 1 (23:00):
Tyler rick lewis color analyst of your Denver Broncos.

Speaker 3 (23:04):
You know when some positive.

Speaker 1 (23:05):
Things take away from Cincinnati, Sean Payton finally.

Speaker 3 (23:07):
Committed to the ground game and let JK.

Speaker 1 (23:09):
Cook, gotta let Dobbins get touched the rock and keep
touching the rock. He gets going, he gets better and
better as he keeps going. And my question I guess
he is is having seen Sean Payton do that for
a game and then get away from it, is will
he be consistent with that and continue to run the football,
which seems to be what's sparking the offense for the
Broncos this year.

Speaker 4 (23:29):
Yeah. JK. Dobbins one of the best running backs in
the league so far this year. And we saw our J.
Harvey make some plays last week too, And I do
like what I saw from Sean Payton last week where
he actually used both running backs. And when you look
at RJ. Harvey, he looks like he might be the
joker in this offense and the things that he can do,

(23:50):
and he's a change of pace from JK. Dobbins. I
hope he continues to do that, keep using both of
those guys, but I would still like to see Dobbins
be the workhorse running the football, and you know that's
a good way to beat this team. Run the ball,
soften them up. I do think there'll be some opportunities
for boon Knicks in the second half. We saw much

(24:11):
better bon Knicks last week, and like I said, with
each game the Broncos have gotten better. They still haven't
played their best game yet though they still haven't played
a really good game at all three phases. If that
happens this week, I think they got a good shot. Ben.

Speaker 3 (24:27):
I'm warming up, Rick and warming up. We're getting there.
I'm full, but I'm falling out.

Speaker 4 (24:32):
I'm not with me, Man with me.

Speaker 3 (24:34):
Come on, Yeah, we're trying. We're trying there.

Speaker 1 (24:36):
Tyler rick lewis to the color analyst of the Denver Broncos.

Speaker 3 (24:39):
As we look around the rosters.

Speaker 1 (24:42):
Anything that jumps out at you that we need to
get going that we haven't gotten going.

Speaker 3 (24:45):
For me, that's kind of that tight end position.

Speaker 4 (24:47):
Saw.

Speaker 1 (24:47):
I know we got Ingram four catches, but wasn't for
much yardage. Really haven't seen much production out of the
tight end position, something we thought was going to be
a big focus for this Broncos team this year.

Speaker 4 (24:56):
Yeah, the Ethan Ingram back in. You know, he he
got a couple short passes last week against Cincinnati, and
so if he can play better this week, give him
some more targets. I'm concerned about Alex Singleton. I know
I probably say that every week, and I really like
him as a player. He just he's not the same

(25:18):
And maybe it's the acl maybe it's the broken thumb,
but we're seeing him miss too many tackles. And would
you play Sae kuon Barkley. You can't afford arm tackles.
You can't afford missed tackles against this guy. So Singleton's
gonna have to be really good this week. Now, he
did get a bunch of tackles last week, but he
missed a couple two. He's got to be really good

(25:40):
this week. If they're going to stack the box and
shut Barkley down, Singleton's gonna have to have his best
game too that he is Rick.

Speaker 1 (25:49):
Anything else you got for us before we got to
get out of here, It was a great gig.

Speaker 4 (25:55):
Last weekend. Man, you were a part of it. It
was great to have you there. We raised the bull
bunch of money for Evergreen Evergreen Strong. It was a
special night, man. The band was into it, the crowd
was hot, and I think the most impacting thing and
probably the thing I'll always remember is playing to that

(26:16):
audience and looking down from my drum throne and they
were upfront, singing, dancing with tears running down their face. Man,
it was just you could see the healing that happened
that night, and that's what we were there for. That
was our job that night to help that community heal.
And I really appreciate you coming that night and being

(26:37):
a part of it.

Speaker 3 (26:38):
Yeah, man, it was It was my pleasure.

Speaker 1 (26:39):
I love getting up there and getting to try to
get that Zach Allen Jersey raffled off and everything, and
we did. We made at a substantial donation for that.
I offered to start maybe start taking items of clothing off,
and the bidding went down, so I immediately put a
parka on and the bidding went right back up and
we got that thing, got that thing done.

Speaker 4 (26:59):
Yeah, I think it was a good idea. But you
started taking with your pants first, no a strip tease.
You start with one little, small, you know, piece of
clothing at a time, but you just dropped your pants
right away. And yeah, I kind of shut down though.

Speaker 1 (27:12):
Where in taraways was a mistake at hindsight, but yeah,
you know, living lart, living lert. So Rick, I appreciate
you as always, Bud, look forward to chat with you
again here soon.

Speaker 4 (27:20):
All right, Ben, you're the best. Thank you.

Speaker 1 (27:28):
Make three or three says Broncos fan here, but we
need to be real that will lose. And then on
the other side three all three says I have the Broncos.
I don't know, man, text line is pretty split. Three five,
I love you, sir Briley Moss. I tasked Ben to
find him a nickname. Never did hear one, so I
made one myself. Clearcoat. If he's on you then you
can't even see it.

Speaker 4 (27:48):
Oh.

Speaker 2 (27:48):
I thought it was going to be more of a
racial thing.

Speaker 1 (27:51):
Yea more of a white people reference there. Now, I
did come up with a nickname, since we have PS
two on the other side, I called him the X
Moss three sixty yeah, but which apparently got some run
in the locker room.

Speaker 2 (28:02):
I don't know, that's what I was told two and
x MOS three sixth.

Speaker 4 (28:05):
That's what I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (28:06):
I just it's a good duo.

Speaker 3 (28:07):
Yeah, you know you got both of them.

Speaker 2 (28:09):
See after You're bad joke in the beginning of the show.
I think that that one is actually pretty good.

Speaker 4 (28:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (28:15):
And then does that make Jade barn the switch? I mean,
because yes, you know he can play insider out. I
don't know, I don't know. What's just Jaquan then not good?
Not gonna be here next year?

Speaker 4 (28:28):
Anyway?

Speaker 2 (28:29):
What even is a fourth console?

Speaker 3 (28:32):
Does atari still make anything?

Speaker 1 (28:33):
Is there? Call him the covid or sixty four because
nobody's anywhay, I know, I'm I'm warming up to the idea,
And honestly, I think it hinges a lot on how
this defense matches up with the Eagles offense, because the
Eagles offense has not been the same this year, just hasn't.
Kevin Detulo, a guy who's failed upward a lot in
his career, is not running that offense at an optimal level.

(28:58):
They're still finding ways to win, but it is not
humming the way it was under Kellen Moore. I you know,
galnance with that ain't Kellen Moore was the ENDLB all.
You know all that myself, But having watched the offense
this year versus last, they were certainly able to do
a lot more last year. And I like, I don't

(29:20):
know what Petullo's aversion to throwing balls to his wide
receivers is, but why even have him out there?

Speaker 2 (29:25):
Me and AJ Brown's.

Speaker 1 (29:26):
Even on Twitter sitting there, you know, talking about if
they don't want you.

Speaker 2 (29:31):
Seems like he runs two routes, a slant and a go.

Speaker 1 (29:34):
I mean kind of, but I mean this offense doesn't
really have much to it for the receivers. It's it's
really is predicated on running the football and hitting the
backs and the tight ends.

Speaker 2 (29:44):
Yeah, and I'm not saying Aj Brown can't do more.
I'm just saying can do more. They just don't. This
is just what how they've used him this year. Yeah,
and I and I get it.

Speaker 1 (29:52):
I get his frustration because you know, you see, the
talent was has been clear everywhere he's gone, but the
way that they do things over the just.

Speaker 3 (30:00):
The receivers are sort of an afterthought in that offense.

Speaker 1 (30:02):
So I don't know, I don't know, We'll see I
mean again, I I don't I don't want to sit.

Speaker 3 (30:07):
There, and on the I don't want to sit there.
On the one hand, be the wet blanket.

Speaker 1 (30:11):
But it's just tough for me with what I've seen
so far to buy that that we're just gonna go
into Philly in an early game on a short week,
right before we go to London and beat the Super
Bowl champs.

Speaker 4 (30:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (30:23):
I think it hinges on R. J. Harvey and JK. Dobbins, Like,
if we can get the production we got out of
them against the Bengals on Monday night, I think we've
got a great chance to win this game. Control the
ball a little bit more time and possession in our favor.
But that's a much taller task this week against that
Eagles defense.

Speaker 3 (30:39):
Yeah, yeah, I you know, we'll see again.

Speaker 1 (30:44):
This is one of those ones I'm gonna need you
guys to to keep pumping me up because I don't.

Speaker 2 (30:48):
I don't have the faith this week.

Speaker 1 (30:50):
And we got a few texts over there on the
text line trying to pump it up and all that
kind of stuff. But Moss apparently accorded to the four
to zero nickname back in back in Iowa was dirt
or dirt Man, a nod to his intense, hard nosed
playing style and the fact that he played through injuries.

Speaker 3 (31:05):
I mean, okay, but that's not a very good nickname.
We need something that's a little better. If you got
something better.

Speaker 1 (31:09):
Than X Moss three sixty, I'm here for it, or
the X Moss you know, PS two and the X
Moss like, I'm here for if you got something better
than that. But dirt or dirt now, I mean, there's
been players named dirt before. You gotta have an original
nickname that nobody else has got.

Speaker 2 (31:21):
I thought maybe that was a reference to Joe Dirt,
because Riley Moss, if he had a mullet, he could
be he could look at your Joe Dirt. Don't try
and church it up now soon?

Speaker 3 (31:29):
Yeah, yeah, I don't, I don't.

Speaker 1 (31:34):
I don't know anyway, as I look at this, I mean,
the Broncos defense is going to be what it is.
We've we've been susceptible a little bit to the run. Obviously,
the Bengals didn't stick with that. That opening drive they
had kind of you know, they were doing all right,
they were running football a little bit, hitting the back out
of the backfield, and then they just kind of got
away from that right away.

Speaker 3 (31:49):
That's when the wheels just completely came off that offense.

Speaker 2 (31:52):
And Jake Browning just kept throwing the ball two yards
out of bound like.

Speaker 1 (31:56):
We're running slot fade for you know, for Higgins and Chase,
except the we're throwing the ball yard in half on
the other side of the white Uh.

Speaker 2 (32:04):
You know, game plans being what they are, we come back.

Speaker 1 (32:07):
We got an FL six pack for you and Brad
Spielberger bottom of the ol Buckers cutting out Kate Wait

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
