Speaker 1 (00:00):
Bringing a good buddy Vinnie bunsenor age go behind it.

(00:02):
We lat's talk about the Las Vegas Raiders coming to town,
Broncos having auspicious streak against the Las Vegas Raiders, and
that they've actually never beaten them, and they are sincerely
hoping here in a retro throwback weekend where they're rolling
out the nineteen seventies tribute uniforms that Grant has the
shirt on right now, that they'll be able to do that.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
Vinie, what are the odds? What are the odds of
the Broncos breaking that streak? Probably pretty decent. I would say,
you know, the Raiders are kind of a middling team
right now, trying to figure themselves out. Obviously, we've got
the DeVante Adams Adams situation going on in Las Vegas

(00:43):
and soon appears is trying to hold things together. Gardner
Minshew hasn't necessarily distinguished himself as the new quarterback a
walking wounded team. So this could this could be a
team that a Raiders team that's right for the taking
to the Broncos.

Speaker 3 (00:58):
Vinny's interesting that you say is right for the taking,
because I've been trying to let fans here know that,
but everything that's going on with the Raiders right now,
this is still of every Pride team. Antonio Peers is
one of the better motivating coaches in the league.

Speaker 2 (01:12):
And I've labeled this game.

Speaker 3 (01:14):
As a trap game for the Broncos and from you,
the boots on the ground, do you view it in
that same way? And as there is a chance, if
there is a chance that the Raiders could upset the
Broncos at home.

Speaker 2 (01:28):
Yeah, I mean, I don't know if that would necessarily
rank as the biggest as an upset. You know, it
feels like the Broncos are I wouldn't say struggling just
as much as the Raiders are. But I feel like,
you know, the Raiders being eight and now against them
in the last eight matchups, you know they they fit
ahead of them in the standards. I feel like they

(01:49):
have a more better quarterback and more secure quarterback right now.
That doesn't say all that much, you know, with women
being Gardner Minshu and but I would also say that
the Raiders are in no just being anybody's trap game.
You know, this isn't you know a team that you
should be I guess overlooking, But it's also a team
that you know, isn't going to sneak up on anybody necessarily.

(02:11):
They kind of are what they are. I look at
this Raiders team and they've got to check off so
many different boxes to be competitive on a weekly basis,
and anytime they deviate from any of those boxes, a
couple of those boxes if they go unchecked like they
did to get the Carolina Panthers, and a Carolina Panthers
game is totally within reason for the Raiders. So it's

(02:32):
one of those teams right now that I don't quite
have my finger on it, other than saying that they're
a pretty good team, not a great team, and they're
susceptible to a roller coaster ride depending on the week,
depending on the opponent, and depending on what mental capacity
they approach.

Speaker 1 (02:48):
You him with, Yeah, you talked about the injuries, and
that's certainly a part of it. MaTx Crosby listed as questionable.
Obviously a big part of what it is they do
on defense. But where is where is this team?

Speaker 2 (03:00):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (03:00):
In terms of the vision of what Antonio Pierce wants
it to become. Pierce hired off the interim uh the
interim tag and and and made as the head coach
they bring in Gardner Minshew, they bringing Luke Getzi is
the OC. Uh the defense, I can understand it taking
a step back with across me. With the offense, it
just doesn't seem like it's clicking.

Speaker 3 (03:17):
There's a mere.

Speaker 1 (03:18):
White who ended the season. Strow doesn't look like the
same guy. Fank Madison looks like the better running back.
What what's going on with the offense here?

Speaker 2 (03:25):
Yeah? I think you know you've got you had to
flux up the offensive line. You've got some injuries now
at the offensive line. Jackson Powers Johnson, they're really good
young guard from from Oregon. Uh finally got on the
field on a full time basis against the Cleveland Browns
on sunny and made a difference. But you've also lost

(03:47):
your right tackle there, Muntford, and now it's DJ Glades
and Ricky from from Maryland who's in there. Carlton Miller
has been up and down in terms of the health
and I still think that he's he's still rounding into
form from the shoulders that he had. Now he deal
with a knee injury. Offensively, they haven't been able to
really create the identity that they want with a strong

(04:08):
running game. That's what Antonio Pierce to hang his hat on.
But they've had issues on the offensive line, and like
he said, Sama White has struggled with a new zone
scheme that lucats He brought over. He's more of a
power back. So now they may shift back to Alexander Madison.
But the reality is they don't have their quarterback. You know,
this is a year where they're going to try to
make the best of what they have with Gardner Minshew

(04:29):
and or Aidan O'Connell. But if you're talking about the
real vision for Antonio Pearce, I think he spelled it
out during the off season when he said I want
to stop having stop gap quarterbacks with the Raiders. That's
not getting the Raiders anywhere. Well, in behold they have
a stop gap quarterback. Why, Well, they won a couple
of games that in retrospect they probably wish they would

(04:51):
have bought last year. That left him at the thirteenth
pick in the NFL Draft. They were way too far
out of being able to trade up to one, two
or three to get Jayden Daniels, who they had their
eye on. Not to say that Washington would have ever
traded out of that spot, but at least they would
have been closer had they finished with a record that
you know, wasn't wasn't a little bit deceiving winning some

(05:13):
meaningless games down the stretch. But until they get that
quarterback in place, they're going to be right where they are,
which is a pretty good team. You know, a team
that if they do check off all those boxes, can
maybe make a playoff run, but in reality is probably
a six to eight win team. That roller coaster, that
ride that I talked about, And I know that as

(05:35):
soon as this season ends, no matter what happens, they're
going to be back in the quarterback business. We'll see,
we'll see where they are in the draft, we'll see
what kind of free agents might be available, or trade
possibilities might be available. But really they're kind of spinning
their wheels until they get that quarterback.

Speaker 3 (05:50):
So no DeVante Adams in this game due to a hamstring.
But you guys still have some very talent the wide
receivers in trade Tucker and DJ Turner. How could these young,
speedy receivers impact the game on Sunday.

Speaker 2 (06:03):
Yeah, And that's kind of thing. They do have some
pretty darn good skilled players. You got to throw rock
powers in there as well as Kobe Meyer's Chucker. You know,
looks like somebody that I think has a bright future,
and not having DeVante Adams on the field that he
opens brings up a little bit more for him in
terms of the touches. You know, every time you go
into a game with the DeVante Adams and no matter

(06:24):
how many times coaches or the quarterback wants to shy
away from this reality, but the reality is you go
into every game going to we got to get seventeen, twelve,
thirteen touches a game, and sometimes it can feel a
little bit forced. Last week was the first week since
DeVante Adams showed up where it just felt more natural,
It felt more organic, and the flow was a lot better.

(06:46):
Trey Tucker was a big part of that, and I
think that the more if they approach games like that
without having this big spectrum of an offensive focal point
out there on the field, they're able to freely now
just get guys touches, take advantage of the favorable matchup
on a play to play basis, and Chae Tucker plays
into that. He's a guy that they want to start
breaking on longer. You know, routes longer patterns. But but

(07:09):
in the meantime, you know, and they want to get
to that eventually. Part of that, Yeah, de Figne doing
their job and Gardner mans who's standing in the pocket
and throwing it downfield. But in the meantime, Chee Tucker
is the guy, the guy that could run five sweeps,
run screens, run intermediate and medium h you know, routes
ball and his amlam do think from a speech perspective,

(07:29):
but I think you've got a bright future.

Speaker 1 (07:32):
We're talking again with Vinie bon Signori Vidy. On the
defensive side, Max Crosby is the edge of that makes
this thing go. And I've I've a long been a
fan of Nate Hobbs there in the slot as well.
But what else on these defense should Broncos fans have
their eye on, Because I think a lot of the guys,
I mean, Christi wilcause you know who he and Tyree wilsonar.
But beyond that, a lot of these guys are not
necessarily names household names to a lot of Roncos fans.

Speaker 2 (07:53):
No they aren't. But but they've got a lot of good,
solid football players. Ben Jacorey and Bennett started the season
last year as a rookie, had some injuries, you know,
struggled a little bit, but he's he's come back in
a second year and really done a really good job.
Opposite Jack Jones. Jack Stones is a little bit of
a wild card at times you don't necessarily know what

(08:15):
what you're going to get. But he's a playmaker, uh
and he's got the ability to pick one up and
and and take it to the house at any moment
when he's when he's right mentally and engaged, he has
a chance to be one of the better cornerbacks in
the league. But it's still a struggle for him to
be playing and play out dialed in the way he
needs to be. Uh. Chevan Merrek a nice young safety

(08:37):
from you were just mentioning TCU. That's where where he went.
Isaiah Pallamau has replaced Marcus steps who's down for the
season with with a knee injury. Isaiah's a nice football
player from UFC. UH And Robert Spulane a linemacker that
kind of flew under the radar in Tennessee and Pittsburgh
kind of through no fault of his own. He was
just behind some really good linebackers in both of those locations,

(09:00):
the Raiders picked him up, and I know a lot
of fans like, who's that. Well, he's come in and
been one of the hearts and soul of this defense.
Just a really good football player who's finally got his
opportunity to start, and he's definitely run with that opportunity.

Speaker 3 (09:13):
So we're heading into week five and there's like a
four games sample size of bon Knicks. Last week wasn't
that great, But what's the overall sands and take on
bone Knicks as a quarterback?

Speaker 2 (09:25):
Yeah, I mean, I think that the Raiders obviously respect
Sean Payton and they were, you know, they dabbled in
the bone Knicks world without question, you know, somebody that
they had on their radar and took a pretty deep
look into. So I think they know the player, and
you know, out of respect, they know that there's at
any moment a rookie like that can break out and

(09:47):
maybe this is the week and that's what they don't
want to have happened, obviously, But they respect him, and
I think that they know that he's got a seemingly
bright future. It's just going to take time. But as
we've seen with rookie quarterbacks. It could this week where
all of a sudden they have, you know, their breakout game.
Now maybe they might they fall back to earth a
week after that, you know, and then start little like

(10:09):
rookie quarterbacks normally do. But I think that's the thing
that the Raiders want to avoid is is koe Nick's
having a breakout game. And I think one of the
ways that they want to try to do is stop
the run. You look at the Broncos. They've gone over
one hundred yards twice. It's the last two games of
the season. They've won both of those games. When they
don't hit one hundred yards rushing, they've lost, you know,
both of those games. So and run. The Raiders have struggled,

(10:33):
you know, in run defense. So that's going to be
a priority on Sunday for them. Stop the run, try
to make Roncos as one dimensional as possible. Patrick Kurham,
try to dial up some creative things to mix Bote
Nix up a little bit.

Speaker 1 (10:45):
Coll with Viny Bond Signiori, reporter at the Las Vegas
Review Journal and of course the NFL Insider at LAAM
five seventy. Then he let's let's talk about this DeVante
Adams stuff. Obviously he once out the trade request all
that kind of stuff. I've been hearing two teams, the
Saints and the Jets. Obviously those would be obvious just
given them the two quarterbacks or guys that he would
want to play with. Is there anybody else involved here?
Are the Saints even seriously volved? Or is Adam's really

(11:07):
engineering this thing to try to go to the Jets.

Speaker 2 (11:09):
Yeah, I don't know that he's engineering anything. I think
there's there's a cluster of teams that he would be
interested in going to, and he's going to respect. Also,
you know, the Raiders. I think the relationship overall, it's
a little bit it's a little bit disconnected between he
and Antonio Pierce. I think he and the organization are
on fairly good terms. So I think, you know, he's

(11:32):
going to understand. He does understand that the Raiders are
gonna do what's best for them. But I also don't
think that they're going to stick it to him. They'll
probably get him to a place that he likes. But
I don't know, if you want to read anything in
the social media posts, DeVante Adams did post on his
Instagram page a big photo of Edgar Allan Poe who

(11:53):
wrote The Ravens. The Ravens. Maybe you know, I know,
I know DeVante is the next level troll when he
wants to engage, maybe that's what he's doing. But I
guess don't roll up the Ravens at this point, considering
the the Edgar Allen Poe reference that.

Speaker 1 (12:09):
Made to well, I just thought he was a big
fan of the cask of a Montelado, So I didn't,
you know, I don't really know what was going on the.

Speaker 2 (12:14):
Exactly we're all trying to interpret that, but I mean,
I think we're gonna I think we're gonna roll with
the Ravens connections.

Speaker 3 (12:20):
Well, you know, what's something that's uh of conversation because
obviously this time the year, you look at teams who
are not doing well, and we also look at the
trade deadline, and I know much other times players are
not traded within the division. Do you ever see a
case where, you know, Antonio appears and this thing is

(12:40):
just so toxic with Devinete Adams that he is possibly
traded to a team within the division, all one being
the Kansas City Chiefs or the Denver Broncos.

Speaker 2 (12:50):
Yeah, you know, I wouldn't roll it out, but I would.
I would probably uh uh, you know, preface that by saying,
if it's the Broncos, it's the Chargers, if it's the
if it's the Ken, the chiefs of all teams, they
better come correct. Probably, you know, it would have to
be something where that offer is just so compelling compared

(13:11):
to every other offer that the Raiders would be compelled
to take that trade where it would be like a
no brainer, Like you know, if you if you interested
what what else was being offered and then what they offered.
We had to make this trade for the for you know,
the good of this organization. Will the Chiefs make that
kind of an offer with the Broncos make that kind
of an offer? I guess that remains to be seen.

(13:33):
But I wouldn't roll it out under those under those
under that area are.

Speaker 1 (13:37):
Many The Raiders win this game if what the Broncos
win this game, if what.

Speaker 2 (13:41):
I think the Raiders win this game, if if they
if they climb down on the run, if they forced
a couple of turnovers from bow Nick, and I think
brock Powers have to have a big game. I'm talking
seven eight catches for for over one hundred yards for
brock Powers.

Speaker 1 (13:58):
Okay, well that's uh yeah, and I love love what
Bowers has done so far, but that would be uh,
I think Vance Joseph defenses are known to be a
little weak against the tight end. So we'll see if that, uh,
we'll see if that does happen. Vinie, we always appreciate
your time, man, and looking forward to seeing here in
a couple of days.

Speaker 2 (14:13):
All right, tack there, guys, We'll see in Denver.
