Speaker 1 (00:00):
Huge win over the Eagles twenty one seventeen. Got a
lot of thoughts on this one. Broncos getting the big
comeback late to get out from under an initial Philadelphia
seventeen three lead, coming back to UH to take the victory,

(00:20):
that weird two point conversion.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
I got thoughts on all that stuff. Nick. How you doing, buddy,
I'm doing really well.

Speaker 3 (00:27):
But I want to start off the show by saying this.
This kind of encapsulate the game for me, So bear
with me as I get this out.

Speaker 1 (00:38):
Where they're starting getting rough.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
The tiny ship was tossed. If it was what's for
the what are you doing? We're recording this?

Speaker 1 (00:47):
Wait, this is going on Christmas album commercial that I'm
definitely making right now.

Speaker 3 (00:52):
All right, so if you don't record this, Grant, let's
go from the top where they're starting getting rough. The
tiny ship was tossed. If not for the courage of
the field, it's cruel. The mino would be loss. The
mino would be lost. That's right. I'm quoting the theme
song from Gilligan's Islands because guess what, that's exactly how

(01:13):
I feel today about the Broncos defense.

Speaker 2 (01:16):
Because if it wasn't for.

Speaker 3 (01:17):
The field is cruel, then that game would have been lost.
So big shout out to the Broncos defense and Vans Joe.

Speaker 2 (01:24):
So there it is. I said it, I'm all. I'm
with you on that.

Speaker 1 (01:27):
The defense certainly carry and has carried the team most
of the year. I will say both. Probably had his
best performance in the fourth quarter of that game, going
what was it, nine of ten with a one hundred
and fifty plus quarterback rating. You know that that that
came at a very fortuitous time as you obviously needed
it do We did get all of that though, right

(01:49):
was that a good There's would be lost, thank you, sir.
The Minno the lost that's going on the best of it.

Speaker 4 (01:56):
The other week, t.

Speaker 2 (01:59):
Look put it together a.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
Fake commercial for Dick ferguson Christmas album from every time
we've recorded him singing, and that that is going to air.

Speaker 3 (02:07):
Now.

Speaker 2 (02:08):
That's happening at some point later on.

Speaker 1 (02:10):
No, I'm happy the Broncos got the win.

Speaker 2 (02:11):
There's a couple of things I think we need to to.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
Kind of raise the eyebrow ats as far as that
kind of stuff goes. A good news though, however, is
the next two games look eminently winnable. You're up against
the New York Jets. I got a whole week of
hitting on Justin fields ahead of it. It's like honuakah
in October for me. And then and then we've got
the New York Giants, who don't look very good either.
Following that, So two New York teams look bad, they're
gonna give us an opportunity to potentially get out to

(02:36):
an even better start.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
Here.

Speaker 1 (02:38):
You're already sitting there to what free and two? Now
you got a chance to get out to four five
and two maybe before you take on the Dallas Cowboys.
That I mean, I don't know all of a sudden,
the road is kind of paved a little for this team.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
Well, I would say that in fact, it is paved then.

Speaker 3 (02:52):
But the idea is that the guys got to go
out and continue to play good sound football. And you
and I was sitting together at burn Down, which you
guys should definitely come and check us out.

Speaker 1 (03:04):
Yeah, we're going we're having the pajama party. Oh yeah, great, Yes,
I forgot to tell you just so you you know,
uh that we're having the pajama party at burned out
seven am this Sunday because we got the seven game.
So this brings some pajama pants, come on out, have
some brunch.

Speaker 2 (03:18):
It burned up by way.

Speaker 1 (03:18):
They get a great, great bunch breakfast and brunch, and
they do a full breakfast too, but they got brunch
to I had some great uh what I have French toast.

Speaker 3 (03:25):
I think you had some French toes with with some
mask pone in it. Yeah, with some uh seemed like
it was some great type of filling there was.

Speaker 1 (03:35):
Yeah, there were different proofs of BlackBerry filling. Actually it's
some raspberry blackberr anything going on. It looked it was phenomenal.

Speaker 5 (03:41):
Yes, and part of this sponsorship deal, bring Grant some
delicious brunch while he's in his pajamas at the station
working the game on something. We'll work on that. We'll
see what we can do. Talk to Brad, I'll talk
about tequila too through the morning.

Speaker 2 (03:56):
Yeah, you know it's a sorry tequila coffee.

Speaker 4 (04:00):
Yeah, why not.

Speaker 3 (04:01):
Wait a minute, I've heard of people putting like other
stuff in their.

Speaker 5 (04:05):
Coffee alies, Yes, but not. I had to give a
shout out to Arta Tequila. I mean, killed that sponsoring anything.

Speaker 2 (04:12):
He's yeah, he's just he's just shout out a sponsors. Okay,
I'm just saying I just thought that.

Speaker 5 (04:16):
That was They probably have a nice respondo.

Speaker 4 (04:20):
Is that what it's called.

Speaker 1 (04:22):
I don't know if.

Speaker 3 (04:23):
I'm not a drinker, So by you saying coffee tequila,
I was like, is that a thing?

Speaker 1 (04:28):
Looks he's just tried life changing coffee, but life changing.
You got life changing loans at life change loan dot com.

Speaker 2 (04:33):
See how I did that.

Speaker 4 (04:35):
Let's get them all.

Speaker 2 (04:35):
In all in right now?

Speaker 1 (04:40):
No, I I mean, come on, first of all, come
on out watch the Jets game with us.

Speaker 2 (04:44):
It's since we got to be up early in the morning.
Come out and be out there.

Speaker 1 (04:47):
We're doing the pajama party thing that Darted Tequila girls
suggested that, and I thought that was a great idea.

Speaker 2 (04:51):
So we're doing that.

Speaker 1 (04:52):
I'll be out there and my my finest pajamas, Brad's
wearing pajama's. Brad will be in pajamas as well. If
you've ever want to say he was going to wear
like a one, you should come out just for that.

Speaker 5 (05:03):
That's the least surprising news I've heard today. Sir Joel
has a onesie. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (05:08):
Yes, he was so excited to tell me. He's like, yeah,
tell it on yourself right now. I don't have a onesie,
but I will wear some pajamas for sure.

Speaker 1 (05:19):
I will, Yes, I will look for a hilarious onesie.
If I don't find one, I'll wear regular pajamas. So
everybody thought I was gonna wear a robe or something
like who has? Who is time for a robe anymore?

Speaker 5 (05:31):
I do have this great Hugh Hefner robe of my
grandpa's for back in the day.

Speaker 4 (05:37):
You could borrow that if you need.

Speaker 1 (05:39):
But I mean, who like who I've never never worn
a robe?

Speaker 2 (05:42):
First of all?

Speaker 4 (05:43):
Who like guys?

Speaker 3 (05:45):
Like? Like? What was?

Speaker 1 (05:45):
He's like, you know what I need? I need like
a wearable towel with a belt. Well, well I have
a robe?

Speaker 2 (05:52):
Right?

Speaker 4 (05:52):
Do you wear a robe?

Speaker 5 (05:54):
Who wears a robe at a hotel every time when
they have a rope?

Speaker 4 (05:57):
I'm wearing a robe every once.

Speaker 3 (05:59):
In a while.

Speaker 1 (06:00):
You wear a robe.

Speaker 2 (06:02):
I mean, that's why you get the.

Speaker 3 (06:03):
Term d roby right, disrobing, But yeah, de robing, disrobing whatever,
it's not a robe on but who's still wears a rope?

Speaker 5 (06:11):
Like?

Speaker 1 (06:11):
Nobody wears a robe anymore? That is a that is
an anachartistic item. No one wears a robe anymore.

Speaker 5 (06:16):
I think you're in the minority here, Like you can.
Let let the text line weg in, but.

Speaker 1 (06:21):
Tell me if I'm wrong on this. But nobody wears
a robe anymore that I'm aware of.

Speaker 3 (06:25):
Okay, So this is why the term you corrected me,
the disrobe.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
That's why it's there. That's why the term is there.

Speaker 1 (06:31):
So you can this robe, yes, because the term came
about back when robes were a thing. So you haven't
had the right robe yet. Well it's soft.

Speaker 4 (06:44):
Velvedeos.

Speaker 3 (06:45):
The whole idea is when you wear a robe is
to make you feel like you know, like like Grant said,
like you have like.

Speaker 1 (06:51):
Yeah, you honestly saying you sold all your stocking robes
once Hempter passed man because there's nobody.

Speaker 4 (06:55):
Else doing it.

Speaker 2 (06:55):
No, you have the robes and the smoking.

Speaker 4 (06:57):
Jackets, and you could wear nothing underneath that velvest.

Speaker 1 (07:01):
There's no occasion that calls for that, like when you
wear a robe at this point, If you're wearing a robe,
they're one of two conclusions.

Speaker 4 (07:07):
Right, If you're in your place wearing a robe, you're
perf and.

Speaker 6 (07:10):
If you're you're public.

Speaker 4 (07:14):
When you're a married man, sometimes you gotta spice up
the best.

Speaker 2 (07:19):
Robe.

Speaker 3 (07:20):
See, you're talking to someone who isn't currently in a
relationship and doesn't like love, so.

Speaker 2 (07:27):
He doesn't understand the idea of this robe.

Speaker 1 (07:31):
I definitely understand the idea of just roll the robes.
If you get there's only two things, like when you
wear a robe, you either look like a perf or
you look like you're insane if you're out, if you're
out in public wearing the role, you know, what.

Speaker 7 (07:43):
Are you doing?

Speaker 1 (07:44):
And you're like, I'm just grabbing the paper here, like yeah,
before the muscle.

Speaker 5 (07:46):
I should see how you would feel like a perv
when you're sitting in a robe playing your Dungeons and
Dragons or a World of Warcraft.

Speaker 4 (07:52):
Or whatever you're playing by yourself, but when.

Speaker 5 (07:55):
You're with your wife and you want to spice things
up a little bit.

Speaker 4 (07:57):
Yes on the robe and this this robe.

Speaker 3 (08:00):
Robes are very like, uh, I guess in front in shape.
When you talk about February like Valentine's Day, they're always
talking about robes.

Speaker 8 (08:11):
This is the last time either one of you or
a robe for real. Yeah for me, but yeah, because
of getting out of the shower, which Ben loves to
take like five minutes.

Speaker 9 (08:23):
Alb, you throw the robe on, I just use a
towel and then I put clothes eyes. Yes, just like
you said, robe like a towel. N't need a towel
with sleeves. I'm just saying, I don't know.

Speaker 1 (08:34):
Anyway, we got somebody said they wear the Hugh Hefner
robe almost weekly.

Speaker 2 (08:37):
Thank you. What I wear when I step outside to
smoke in the fallen winter.

Speaker 4 (08:43):
This is a nice little but.

Speaker 1 (08:44):
Do people look at you like you're if you're wearing
a robe, you look like you just escape.

Speaker 3 (08:48):
No. No, if you're wearing a robe like that, you're
going to pick out the paper. You're just standing on
the porch and you're smoking a stogy and I don't
you wear the robe. But I'm like, no, no, that's
player and.

Speaker 1 (08:59):
All I'm asking you what you're doing, and you're like,
I'm just getting the paider. I'm like, yeah, before the
monster sits right.

Speaker 3 (09:03):
Because you walk outside and you ask your neighbor what
are you doing? He said, just look at you, nod
his hand and said, I'm balling.

Speaker 2 (09:10):
That's it.

Speaker 4 (09:12):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (09:12):
No, because you're not like no, no, And you guys
are wear their text lines killing me right now, because
they know a robe. Almost every day when I go
to the backyard hot tub, it's long terry cloth a
hood all winter long.

Speaker 4 (09:25):
Oh that's a perfect.

Speaker 2 (09:27):
Rob perfect perfectly the hood. Are you a Jedi?

Speaker 4 (09:30):
Like what are you outside? When you get out of
the hot tub?

Speaker 3 (09:34):
You remember what George is standing said about I was
in the pool. Yes, you can't if you wear the robe.
And then you got it, like, there's all The only
person who could wear a robe anymore is if you're
about to enter the boxing ring.

Speaker 1 (09:47):
That is the only time is permissible to wear a robe.

Speaker 2 (09:50):
Now, man, I mean, where's your imagination?

Speaker 4 (09:53):
Man? Right here?

Speaker 3 (09:54):
The rope, man, it conceals everything, and it's like, damn
you snap it right on a bam.

Speaker 2 (10:01):
Here it is now. I'm gonna rip it wide open,
yes like Rick Flair.

Speaker 1 (10:05):
And I've got that that sweater thing that looks like
a Jedi robe that I wear up like.

Speaker 4 (10:10):
An assassin's creed.

Speaker 2 (10:11):
Whatever I heard.

Speaker 1 (10:16):
There's so many people right now in the text they're
talking about wearing robes, and I'm like, wow.

Speaker 2 (10:21):
You're the only one.

Speaker 3 (10:22):
Apparently, I had two different types of robes right depending
on where I am multiply.

Speaker 4 (10:27):
I've got multiple robes.

Speaker 3 (10:31):
Mentally where I'm at on Friday nights. It dictates if
I'm mean chill mold or I mean you know, hey, man,
hey want to get.

Speaker 1 (10:39):
A chill mode robe? And what does this look like? Well,
I don't believe that it's a little more fluffy. Yes,
you know that casual robe keeps you a little warmer.
You got your sexy rod that you spoken like a
dude who knows he knows, you know, bro.

Speaker 2 (10:56):
Even Prince would be like, no, bro, you guys are
wrong for that.

Speaker 4 (10:59):
No, fret. Prince had seven to ten robes.

Speaker 2 (11:03):
All silk.

Speaker 5 (11:04):
Yeah, playing basketball in his robe, the j.

Speaker 4 (11:12):
Game blouses. Yeah, I don't like.

Speaker 2 (11:14):
I don't now, I'm just yeah, I fire.

Speaker 1 (11:17):
You were getting some people some pushback on this on
the text side, the idol for the robe.

Speaker 2 (11:21):
What do you guys?

Speaker 4 (11:22):
Ron Burgundy just had some styles.

Speaker 3 (11:25):
Yes, exactly, so you guys to you and some of
the texts out of pushing back, they like that style,
the sophistication.

Speaker 2 (11:32):
Okay, this is this whole conversation for Dick. I cannot
believe we've just spent eight minutes talking about robes.

Speaker 4 (11:36):
Was a bad choice, but a robe is never about.
It's always a bad choice.

Speaker 2 (11:39):
Anyway.

Speaker 7 (11:40):
It's a pajama party down at the bird Down on Sunday.
A tangent supposed to long wear a party down at
the bird Down on Sunday.

Speaker 1 (11:49):
We'll see how many of you people actually.

Speaker 2 (11:50):
Wear robes.

Speaker 1 (11:52):
Down at the burn Down on Sunday at seven am.
Kick off at seven thirty. Come get some brunch. Please
pivot it literally, and it's.

Speaker 4 (12:00):
Me wanting to pivot back to sports.

Speaker 3 (12:02):
Look well, the Broncos defense once again, they proved to.

Speaker 2 (12:05):
Be the robe come team.

Speaker 3 (12:08):
Right.

Speaker 2 (12:09):
The worst part I'm covered.

Speaker 3 (12:12):
Get off the rails.

Speaker 4 (12:18):
I've lost.

Speaker 2 (12:19):
Life has changed.

Speaker 1 (12:21):
I got the I got people sending me links to
different robes. Now in the text line talking about the
rob will change your life, they're trying to help you out.
No man, Yes, like I'm gonna click this link and
I'm gonna be so mad.

Speaker 9 (12:32):
This is going to help you out. Like manscaping, they're
trying to help you. I've been manscaping stuff. I was
like sixteen, Okay, there it.

Speaker 6 (12:38):
Is hair on your body. You get terms of sweater
man in the world. This is like a whole. This
isn't even like a robe. This is like a whole thing.
I'm gonna have to look at this darting to break
this is ridiculous. This has got like some kind of microbes.
This is a two hundred and forty dollars micro fiber robe.
This guy sent me a linked to that sounds right
up your ass.

Speaker 2 (12:56):
Yes, exactly, all right, I'm gonna look into this.

Speaker 4 (13:00):
Just gonna have a robot this.

Speaker 2 (13:02):
I swear looking like a smoke a jack.

Speaker 1 (13:05):
I swear to you with velvid like I'm gonna come
over with a pipe.

Speaker 4 (13:08):
Look like no.

Speaker 7 (13:10):
Anyway, We're at the burn Down on Sunday at seven
pajama party.

Speaker 1 (13:13):
Wear your flannel pajama pants or your onesie or your robe.
If that's what you want, come on down, hang out
with us, watch us whip up on the jets.

Speaker 4 (13:20):
I'm gonna be making fun of Justin Fields all week.

Speaker 2 (13:22):
You can bet your life savings on that. We got
a big show to get to.

Speaker 1 (13:26):
Ryan Koenigsberg's gonna join us seven h five. He's got
a brand new show with the.

Speaker 2 (13:29):
Keep the lead.

Speaker 1 (13:30):
It's a lot of fun, uh romy being gonna join
us seven thirty five. Always of get a chance to
talk to row Me and get her thoughts, you know,
on things the NFL six pack at eight thirty five,
I I went back and watched the game. That might
have been one of the most poorly officiated games I
have ever seen, and nobody came away with the beneficiary.

Speaker 4 (13:48):
Like it was bad for both teams. It was horribly officiating.

Speaker 1 (13:51):
Pat Bryant did not create a pick on that pick point, No,
he did not.

Speaker 2 (13:54):
I went back and look at that.

Speaker 1 (13:55):
I'm not sure that the guy, like we were fighting
for yardage, I'm not sure Bonn should have got hit
with the lad hit call. We got flagged on a
DPI on the third last play we should have got
flagged on, and then we should have got flagged the
next play for a flag We did DPI and didn't
get called like they was so poorly and obviously badly officiated,
and it benefited nobody in the end.

Speaker 7 (14:16):
Well.

Speaker 3 (14:16):
Also, there was an OPI on the Broncos that wasn't
called right because Colon.

Speaker 2 (14:23):
Was in a cut split.

Speaker 3 (14:24):
What that means is, you know, a couple of yards
inside the numbers and they ran what we call a dragon,
which is slant flat right, and you had the back
who was offset.

Speaker 2 (14:33):
And if I'm not mistaken. It might have been RJ.

Speaker 3 (14:35):
Harvey who was running to the flat and Colin was
trying to free him up and he was trying to
run the rub route but kind of ran into the linebacker,
but it wasn't called.

Speaker 2 (14:44):
So when we look at this game and I.

Speaker 3 (14:46):
Talked to, you know, a couple of my guys who
work in Philly, Mike Gillis, who works out with ESPN
out there in Philadelphia ESPN Radio, and we were going
texting back and forth, and idea was.

Speaker 2 (14:59):
That no one in Philly, even as.

Speaker 3 (15:02):
Angry as they possibly are right now, can say that
the officials blew the game right because that was their
controversial call on the DPI maybe on Jail Skinner that
wasn't called on Dallas Gotter. But I'm like, well, those
calls went both ways, and Ruffs would never say that
they're trying to make up calls, but it seemed like
it looked.

Speaker 4 (15:21):
Like games all games.

Speaker 3 (15:23):
And I was just like, man, and we were right there,
burned down. I was like, this is bad, Like I
don't know if this officiating crew will get any kind
of playoff duty.

Speaker 1 (15:34):
I hope we don't get that crew again the rest
of the year. Because that was bad. Yeah, that was bad.
And the only thing I think fans asked is for
the game to.

Speaker 3 (15:43):
Be officiated across the.

Speaker 2 (15:44):
Board equally right and consistently.

Speaker 1 (15:46):
Yes, you can't just call something here and then let
it go for three more plays or what like, what
do you do?

Speaker 2 (15:52):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (15:52):
Anyway, horribly officiated game. But in the end watching that
thing back, the officiating didn't benefit anybody.

Speaker 2 (15:58):
It was just badly officiated.

Speaker 1 (16:01):
What I I one thing I will say, I'll give
a tip of the cap.

Speaker 3 (16:04):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (16:04):
They mostly Broncos, mostly stuck with the run.

Speaker 1 (16:06):
In the second half, Sean got a little aggressive, you know,
went went full Shawn there toward the end where he
started throwing the ball again. And I don't know what
that two point conversion was about, but you know, Sean
Payton was like, look, we're gonna win to lose, We're
not missing the flight.

Speaker 4 (16:22):
Well, looking back on over time, looking back on it,
you don't like the call, Yeah it didn't.

Speaker 2 (16:27):
I mean it was a weird.

Speaker 4 (16:30):
Changed the math.

Speaker 3 (16:31):
Okay, So Grant, I'm glad you brought that up, because
when the Broncos lined up for I mean you could
see them coming out of Ben's ears.

Speaker 4 (16:40):
I was in this control room by myself and yelled.

Speaker 2 (16:43):
No, it didn't chang it didn't.

Speaker 1 (16:46):
It didn'tchanse the mathough because it was still a field
goal either way.

Speaker 5 (16:49):
No, but when we got up by four, then it
did that.

Speaker 1 (16:53):
But you, I mean, like, you can't count multiple possessions out.

Speaker 4 (16:56):
You're looking at the two for two.

Speaker 1 (16:57):
Based on the the amount of clockets left. You're looking
at the two for two, So that's two possessions either way.
You can't count on scoring not scoring as far as
that goes. You just have to do the math of
what happens in these cases.

Speaker 4 (17:08):
But in a real life football scenario, it did change
the mouth.

Speaker 3 (17:10):
I mean it did.

Speaker 1 (17:11):
Yes, bad process got a good result and that good
result changed them. Yes, but that's but that's not I mean,
what if they what if he didn't get that?

Speaker 4 (17:20):
Oh it'd have been a nightmare if they.

Speaker 1 (17:22):
Did not get that play.

Speaker 3 (17:23):
Okay, So so here here's the way that I look
at it, and luckily played out.

Speaker 1 (17:28):
And to be fair, sprint to the flat to the
sprint to the flat had been working all game, to
be fair to Sean, but well it is.

Speaker 3 (17:34):
It's one of the things that I learned playing here
for the Broncos with the Davy Gibbs. Usually anytime the
teams inside the red zone or they're trying to get
a third and short, usually you go to a sprint
out that that's the easy throw him pitch and catch
for the quarterback. And Troy Franklin, who had some issues
with drops you know in a couple.

Speaker 1 (17:54):
Of games, he was able to hauld in that pass.

Speaker 2 (17:56):
So that was great. But I was just saying, you
know what, I can.

Speaker 3 (18:00):
Understand Sean Payton rolling the dice because when you're playing
on a roll like that against the reigning Super Bowl
champions and you know that, hey, your offense has been
struggling to generate points, you got to try to.

Speaker 2 (18:15):
Capitalize when you can't.

Speaker 3 (18:17):
And that was kind of a high percentage play that
the Broncos you know, ran, but more importantly they executed.
I mean, we've seen throughout the season the Broncos failed
to execute on plays that.

Speaker 2 (18:30):
Could have blown out the Chargers right, really helped.

Speaker 3 (18:33):
Them in the game against the Colts, but the execution
was poor. This was the time where you had what
I mean, I know you're saying, was a question we'll
call and no Grant was saying it to as well,
and it kind of lay left you scratching your head,
but it worked because the execution came through. So now
it's more on the bridge because, like Gret said, it
forced Philly to say, well, no, we need a touchdown.

(18:56):
We can't really move in a field goal position. And man,
poor Kevin Patulo, I don't know what he was thinking
in that game, but I'm glad he did what he did.

Speaker 1 (19:06):
What game plan you got that calls for six carries
from Saquon Barkley.

Speaker 4 (19:12):
You know what.

Speaker 2 (19:13):
I don't want to say he was pointy shaving.

Speaker 9 (19:15):
But sure.

Speaker 1 (19:16):
Oh man, yeah it did not look Yeah, that was
something I didn't know what.

Speaker 2 (19:21):
I don't even know what to do with that. Yeah, ridiculous.

Speaker 1 (19:25):
One thing I will say, there's a stat floating around.
One of our Texters sent it to us before we
go to break talking about how Denmer has not come back.
The only time Denver came back fourteen plus in the
fourth quarter on the road was twenty eleven against Miami
with Tebow.

Speaker 2 (19:39):
That is not accurate. It's also not the Chargers game.

Speaker 1 (19:42):
The Broncos came back on the road down fourteen plus
when Russ beat justin Fields in Chicago two years ago,
Cooper returned one that we scored seventeen points in.

Speaker 2 (19:52):
The fourth quarter win thirty one twenty eight.

Speaker 3 (19:54):
That's the game that Alex Singleton made the game save
and tackle.

Speaker 2 (19:57):
I think that. I think that's right.

Speaker 1 (19:58):
Yeah, I remember the exact scoring on that, but I
remember Coop got a was either an interception or a
fumble return or the fourth quarter. Sutton got a pass
with with like ten minutes left, caught a touchdown.

Speaker 2 (20:08):
Then Cooper had a few minutes later.

Speaker 1 (20:11):
Had like a fumble return I think it was, and
then you had will Lutz hit the field goal with
under two minutes and that was William Jackson got the interception, right, yeah,
and so that yeah, that they came down. They were
down at the start of the fourth quarter. They were
down fourteen point because it was twenty at fourteen, and
then they scored seventeenth straight.

Speaker 4 (20:26):
So there's a.

Speaker 1 (20:26):
Stat rolling around about us going down fourteen in the
fourth quarter.

Speaker 2 (20:29):
The last time we did that was with Sean Dayton.

Speaker 1 (20:32):
It was Russell Wilson against the Bears whatever it was
two years ago. We got a break. We'll be back
after this. Lots to get to we do have Ryan
Koenigsberg and Road being coming up next hour. Rocco's stuck
with the run a little bit in this game. I
was pleasantly surprised even when they were down, we stuck
with the run. I was like, oh, wait, we're down

(20:53):
eighty points at all, Sean's going.

Speaker 4 (20:54):
To pass the rest of the game.

Speaker 1 (20:56):
Bo's gonna wind up with one thousand passing attempts, and no,
they stuck with with the run.

Speaker 2 (21:03):
JK.

Speaker 1 (21:04):
Dobbins finished with twenty carries for seventy nine yards. Now
that average got diminished a little at the end when
he was just running in to run the clock out.
Run one yard, follow down and run the clock out.
Bo still did finish with thirty nine passing attempts. By
the way, well here's a bigger thing, Ben going into
the half.

Speaker 3 (21:20):
To just show you how the sport is this portionate.
It was as far as the scoring in the first
three quarters opposed to the eighteen point explosion in the
fourth quarter.

Speaker 2 (21:31):
At halftime, Bo was ten.

Speaker 3 (21:33):
Of twenty one for seventy nine yards, no touchdowns, no interceptions,
and only one sack, and Dobbins only had seven carries
for twenty eight yards, so when you talk about the
final stats, I mean you could see how the offense
really turned things around. And I was really excited that

(21:53):
the Broncos actually started off the game. They started off
the game with two run plays, yep.

Speaker 2 (21:58):
One was a direct of.

Speaker 3 (22:00):
Handoff and the other was kind of like a quick
pitch or whatever outside run play. And to me, I
thought going into the game, you and I talked about
it before that.

Speaker 2 (22:09):
I was like, they're gonna have to do this.

Speaker 3 (22:11):
They're gonna have to stay solid with the mentality of
running the ball even against a stingy front like the
Eagles had, and it proved to be successful for the
Broncos throughout the game.

Speaker 1 (22:22):
That did, and we continue to see JK. Dobbins. I
can't remember how many times it burned out. I was
leading the let Dobbins cook chance, but we continue to
see JK.

Speaker 2 (22:36):
Dobbins. You know, look look great.

Speaker 1 (22:40):
He's got seventy seven carries on the season, four hundred
two yards. He's averaging five point to a carry. He's
getting eighty point four yards a game through five games.
He's got four touchdowns. He's good for about a touchdown
a game. You know, as far as that goes, he's
playing really good football, and it feels like we can
we can kind of build around that and then use

(23:00):
that to get those shot play deep over you know,
crossers off off play action that Sean Payton wants to run.

Speaker 3 (23:09):
Yeah, you can really see that there's been someone of
us subtle change opposed to what we saw over the
first two years that coach Payton's here opposed to now
and being more steady with getting the running backs involved,
but more important JK.

Speaker 2 (23:25):
Dobbins.

Speaker 3 (23:26):
And this is why Dobbins was actually brought here to
be able to do this. And what what I'm seeing
from this is outside his own plays, they're running power o.
They're in the shotgun with the loan back whether it's
Dobbins or RJ. Harvey, and a pistol formation, so you're
running delayed handoffs. And then when Bowl gets under center,

(23:49):
and the Eagles had to respect that right being able
to get under center. That open up a lot of things.
In the book Keep Game something we saw a lot
and it wasn't as success it was against the Eagles,
but we still saw it.

Speaker 2 (24:02):
So the Eagles had to prepare for it in the
Cincinnati Bengals game.

Speaker 3 (24:05):
So running the ball and having your quarterback under center,
it opens up so much because the defense it keeps
them honest.

Speaker 1 (24:14):
Yeah, and that's I mean, that's a big part of
what you're gonna have to do. Bo is not a
guy that's gonna pick up a team, put him on
his back and carry it. In most situations, you've got
to have the right people around him and the right
setups and get the defense to be honest so they
can't stack the deck against him, and when they do,
then he can come through and have a fourth quarter
like he had in that game.

Speaker 2 (24:35):
And you know, it was a great performance there.

Speaker 1 (24:38):
I don't want to take anything away from bow, but
a lot of that was set up by the fact
that you had that defense was was a bit on
its heels because they had to you know, you had
the run game going and they had to respect it.

Speaker 3 (24:48):
Well. Once again, I give coach Payton credit for getting
to that point mentally where he's stuck with the run
because we're sitting there, burned down and we the game
and I can I can hear you verbally, keep out
of your mouth, keep running the ball and don't result

(25:08):
to passing the ball.

Speaker 2 (25:10):
And it's almost as.

Speaker 3 (25:11):
Though Sean Payton somehow heard you, and it continued to
laying on the run game, because as long as you're
running the ball and you're running it effectively and we're
talking about at least three point five yards to carry,
you're keeping that Philadelphia Eagles offense on the sideline.

Speaker 1 (25:33):
And even though you know, we saw a lot of
you know, third and long.

Speaker 3 (25:37):
Situations, throwing out situations leading up to that fourth quarter,
but the most important thing was when the Broncos needed
the most and they needed just the same drives and
they needed guys to make plays, they made them in
the fourth quarter. Because leading up to this point, the Broncos,
if I'm not mistaken, over the last couple of games,

(25:57):
they only had like maybe ten points in the fourth quarter.

Speaker 2 (26:00):
So you get eighteen.

Speaker 1 (26:02):
That shows that you started slow, but you can finish fast.

Speaker 4 (26:07):
Well.

Speaker 1 (26:08):
One thing that's helping with that is the defense is
starting strong in every game, is starting strong and remaining strong. Yes,
the defense is not giving up points in the first quarter,
not giving up very many points in the first quarter
all year.

Speaker 2 (26:19):
Hasn't given a touchdown.

Speaker 1 (26:20):
I'm trying to remember the last time the Broncos gave
up a touchdown in the first quarter.

Speaker 2 (26:23):
It's sometime last year, last year, old on, I got
to check these stats. Yeah, it's it's been a while.

Speaker 1 (26:30):
They just they don't give up, you know, points in
the first quarter very often.

Speaker 3 (26:34):
Okay, So, what with that being said, does that change
the philosophy and the mindset of what we come to
know about the bin but don't break defense? Because everyone
when you when you when you bring that up and
you talk about that phrase, it's that we have a
bin but don't break defense. Usually it equates to your
defense giving up substantial amount of yards. But we're not

(26:56):
really seeing that. The Broncos given up a lot of yards.
They do have breakdowns here and there, but once they
get us out of the red zone, they stand tall.

Speaker 1 (27:02):
Yeah, then that's they're one of the best red zone
teams in football. I wouldn't call the Broncos defense ben
don't break down. I mean they have a few more
of those. They do a little bit more of that
this year. But it's it's rooted in the Wade Phillips.
I mean, that's who Advance's mentor is. It's rooted in
what they do.

Speaker 2 (27:20):
There.

Speaker 1 (27:21):
And so you know, I don't I don't I wouldn't
call it a ben don't break defense. I mean, Phillies
a ben don't break defense. That's that's what they do.
They play keep it in front of end and all
that kind of stuff and go from there. But yeah,
the Broncos have not given up a first quarter touchdown
this year. They give up two field goals to the Colts.
That they've not given up a first quarter touchdown this year,
I don't know. I'd have to go back to last

(27:41):
year to look and see when the last time they
give up a first quarter touchdown.

Speaker 2 (27:44):
That has to be the best in the league. And
I don't know. You tell me, Am I wrong?

Speaker 3 (27:49):
Am I thinking is that we constantly hear so much
about quarterbacks and everything else, and it's not just with
the Broncos, just with other teams as well, But we
don't really hear a point of emphasis stressed with the
defense itself, whether it's the coordinators or the players. I mean,
do you think that's because once again, this is a

(28:11):
quarterback driven league philosophy?

Speaker 1 (28:14):
I mean, maybe I'm being told by the way that
the Chargers game last year was the last time the
Broncos gave up The Bills did not get one. The
Chiefs obviously didn't with their backups. The Bengals did not
get a first quarter touch That was the Chargers last year.
Gus Edwards had a one yard touchdown rush with three
to nine left in the first quarter.

Speaker 2 (28:32):
That would have been December nineteenth of last year. That
was the Thursday night football game.

Speaker 1 (28:36):
Yes, that was the last time they gave up a
first quarter touchdown. Was the Thursday night football game with
the Chargers last year.

Speaker 3 (28:42):
That's a hell of a stat Yeah, in a while,
that is a hell of a stat line. And Vance
Joseph and all those guys on that defensive side of
the ball that contribute, they should really be happy about that.

Speaker 1 (28:52):
Deserve some credit on that one. I want to go
back to some things that happened this week. Did you
guys see the Spark Sanchez stuff. Yeah, I saw the photos.
He messed that dude up, Like he cut that guy
a joker smile, like he messed that dude up really Yeah, Like,
I'll show you the photos trying to break it.

Speaker 4 (29:11):
I want to see him too. And I saw the video.

Speaker 2 (29:13):
I want to him.

Speaker 4 (29:14):
I saw the video TMZ release of them hauling him
away on a gurney. The guy that he messed up.

Speaker 2 (29:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (29:19):
Then I saw the video of Mark Sanchez stumbling around
on the street with a blood running down his shirt.

Speaker 2 (29:25):
Crazy Marc Sanchez messed that dude up.

Speaker 1 (29:27):
Basically, the story originally came out Mark Sanchez got stabbed
and it was like, oh my God, crying Indy, and
then the real story came out and Mark Sanchez was
bombed out of his mind and it was twelve thirty
at night and he's running wind sprints behind the JW. Marriott. Yeah,
and thank you, thank you Rick James for that assist uh.
And apparently because running wind sprints is the thing you

(29:50):
do when you're sober, right, Yeah.

Speaker 4 (29:53):
He Uh.

Speaker 1 (29:54):
This grease sixty nine year old grease truck driver who's
emptying out the grease traps in the restaurants there backed
his truck up there get the grease out, and Mark Sanchez.

Speaker 2 (30:01):
Went up to him to try to tell me he
couldn't park there. They got they get into an altercation.

Speaker 1 (30:05):
The guy tries to get back in his in his
grease truck, Sanchez traces him, chase him to the truck.

Speaker 2 (30:09):
They get a video all this.

Speaker 1 (30:11):
Sanchez opens the truck door and is like tearing this
dude up. The guy tries to pepper spray him. That
doesn't work. Mark Sanchez is still coming. So he stabbed
Mark Sanchez after he pepper spray. Hi couln't get him
off of him, and they upgraded the charges on Sanchez
this morning to a felony.

Speaker 4 (30:28):
So Sanchez looking at serious jail time now. And this
is all five years.

Speaker 2 (30:32):
This is all while he was intoxicated at the least.

Speaker 4 (30:36):
Did you hear Rick James?

Speaker 3 (30:38):
Yeah, I heard Rick James. If there was a poster
child for why you don't do any extracurriculars, I'll just
called him that.

Speaker 2 (30:50):
This is a prime example.

Speaker 3 (30:51):
And this guy had, like I want to say, a
failed NFL career, but he's known for being a butt
fomble guy.

Speaker 2 (30:58):
Then you had a nice job own Fox calling.

Speaker 4 (31:00):
Games, and I thought it was pretty good calling games.

Speaker 1 (31:02):
Yes, I thought the buttfom was gonna be the most
embarrassing thing to ever happen to that dude. I was wrong, though,
Like I have that I very rarely get to say this.
I was wrong save that one grant, Like I don't
even know what to like. Wow, And you had people,
all these people that were tweeting out all this political

(31:23):
junk about crime and India or whatever. They went back
and stealthily deleted their tweets or whatever after the truth
about what happened with Mark Sanchez came out.

Speaker 3 (31:31):
It's just sad to see Mark Chances or anyone for
that matter, find themselves in the conundrum like this.

Speaker 2 (31:39):
But I'll say it again.

Speaker 3 (31:41):
Let this be a reason, an example why you don't
indulge in in the extracurricular activities. And you can categorize
that as you see fit.

Speaker 1 (31:51):
All right, yeah, take take yourself home or take your
stuff back to your hotel room. You had to call
a game, They had to bring in Brady Quinn to
call the game. You know, I think it's crazy.

Speaker 5 (32:00):
We still haven't heard anything from Mark Sanchez or his
people like us got released.

Speaker 1 (32:04):
Really the hospital anything, he got stabbed, he was a
critical condition.

Speaker 2 (32:08):
Think about it.

Speaker 3 (32:10):
What what could he possibly say in issuing in a statement? What?

Speaker 4 (32:13):
Well, he's already being sued, so now he's not going
to say anything. Well, you know what he's going to say.
Coqa is a hell of a drug. We'll be back
