Speaker 1 (00:00):
I have six six nine zero is the text line,
(00:01):
which is all laughing at romy beans dropping the best
line of the century. You know, heart one out.
Speaker 2 (00:10):
And we're gonna continue to use that drop in perpetuity.
Speaker 1 (00:17):
If you missed any part of that, or you missed
an interview with Ryan Conersberg from d VR, you guys
can go to Broncos Country dot dot com, slash podcast

Speaker 2 (00:26):
iHeartRadio you know heart one out.
Speaker 1 (00:28):
Where you can get the taking it for Granted podcast
archives as well.
Speaker 2 (00:36):
But Grant is like a little kid behind me in
my position and a could drop. He is absolutely, absolutely
loving it.
Speaker 1 (00:49):
Lots of lots of other things I wanted to get
to here. Nick, see you lost to TCU uh. We
talked with Roy about this briefly. They've dropped the last
two both games that looked very whittable for Colorado. It
feels like this is sort of a lost season for Prime.
It's just the point where you put juju in or
do you just keep rolling with Kate and Solder a
little longer.
Speaker 3 (01:09):
No, you don't put juju in right now in this moment.
Maybe you can start giving him a couple of plays
here and there. But if coach Prime does that now,
to me, that will destroy the confidence, in my opinion,
with his team, especially the guys who are seniors, because
that means is though you're bailing on the season, you're
(01:32):
saying that there's no way possible that we can dig
ourselves out of this and worst case scenario get back
to being five hundred.
Speaker 2 (01:42):
So to me, no, you.
Speaker 3 (01:44):
Just got to clean up a couple of things here
and there. And the biggest thing and I tweeted about
this and you can find it at Nick Ferguson. I
to score twenty five on X that last play of
the game, right and you're thinking, okay, well you know
exactly what TCU needs to do and they go empty formation.
Speaker 2 (02:04):
You can hear their quarterback say on live TV.
Speaker 3 (02:10):
Slug though I heard, and he's punching his helmet to
give a signal, and I'm like, if I heard.
Speaker 2 (02:17):
It, they have heard it too.
Speaker 3 (02:19):
There was no communication, There was nothing that took place.
Speaker 2 (02:23):
That didn't anything.
Speaker 1 (02:24):
No, they knew, you knew, the quarterback had read you
when what you were doing. And they didn't change a thing.
Speaker 3 (02:28):
No, they didn't change a thing At all and all
of a sudden, now there's a slugo for a touchdown.
So to me, this is the thing that happens or
has been happening with the CU buff team. It's attention
to detail, and I know, being a former player, it's
driving him bananas, knowing as though you don't have Travis
(02:53):
Henry anymore.
Speaker 2 (02:54):
I mean Travis Hunt, excuse me.
Speaker 3 (02:56):
And Travis can't save you on the defensive side and
he can't save you on the offensive side. So once again,
where does the playmaking come from? But more importantly, where's
the accountability?
Speaker 2 (03:08):
Right? And it was one of those things.
Speaker 1 (03:10):
I mean they were clearly a man and you hear
the slug o call and you didn't shift to like
a too high.
Speaker 2 (03:16):
You know you didn't. There's no communication like, hey.
Speaker 1 (03:18):
I might need help over the top off he's really
going slat and go.
Speaker 3 (03:21):
Well, I don't know if it's built into Robert Livingston,
you know the defense where they can actually do that.
But at least if you are the corner and you
hear that, you can look to play it a little different.
You don't have to commit and drive on that route
right away because I don't care who you are. We
all know the universal language of.
Speaker 2 (03:43):
Slug o, yeah, slat and go yes.
Speaker 3 (03:46):
So if anything, you take a step backwards and then
you open up, so now you're looking at the quarterback.
So it gives you an opportunity if that guy runs
a slant and go, you can recover were.
Speaker 2 (04:00):
Just as easily as he's going vertical.
Speaker 1 (04:02):
Right, And that was that was one of those things.
I mean, it was just obvious. It had tip to
that quarterback there from TCU. He's got a little game
to him. But that was, that was one of those things.
I just I was watching, I could hear it, and
I was like, oh my gosh, Like he's called out
what he's gonna do. Surely this defense he's prepared and
and they were not, uh in that particular in that
(04:23):
particular situation. Kate Salter horrendous ending to the first half
of that game with the interceptions, and that really brought
tc back into it. The Colorado had been in control
at that point, which to me, again, uh, I don't
know why Punt Shermer was on his was on his
Sean Payton grind. What were you doing dialing up the
past place to begin with?
Speaker 3 (04:42):
Just run a football, you know, and I thought about
you watching the game, and I'm like, well, if Ben
is watching his game, he has to be livid right
now because see, you was having some success. They were
they were having the ball, and to me, you take.
Speaker 2 (04:58):
The pressure off your quarterback.
Speaker 3 (05:01):
And I know ROMY talked about it when when you
see Caden Salter play, it just seems as though, well
he's trying to play perfect.
Speaker 2 (05:09):
There's no such thing as a perfect game.
Speaker 3 (05:12):
If you go out there, and I can tell you, Ben,
if you're thinking of trying to do everything the right way,
nine times out of ten, you're gonna make some mistakes
because you're not allowing your natural ability to kind of
make plays for you. You're out there thinking, and don't
get me wrong, you have to think a little.
Speaker 2 (05:30):
But there's certain times where if you're.
Speaker 3 (05:32):
Caten Salters and there's nothing open down field, which happens
a lot, you take the ball in run.
Speaker 1 (05:39):
I mean that's like, for me, this was a no brainer.
But apparently my brain is broken or something, or there's
some kind of calculus I'm missing here because the run
is working, the run is effective, and we're.
Speaker 2 (05:48):
Like, you know what, let's not do that.
Speaker 1 (05:50):
Let's have our eternal reprone quarterback. Throw the football and
get in some quicksand create some interceptions and allow this
team back into it on the run the ball, Take
the air out of the stadium, Take the air out
of the football.
Speaker 2 (06:02):
Take the air of the stadium. Run the ball. But
here's the other thing too, it's not for me. It's
not all Kaden Salter's fault, saying I'm.
Speaker 1 (06:11):
Not blaming only Kaden's solid In fact, I'm largely blaming
the play calling.
Speaker 3 (06:15):
Well, I'm gonna even go further than that and say
that you need your receivers to work for you, right,
You need one of those guys to attempt to make
a play for you down the field.
Speaker 2 (06:28):
And what that means is that sometimes you may have
to bail out your quarterback go up and make a play.
Speaker 3 (06:33):
Also, flash your numbers if you're running through a zone,
which as far as I know, in all my years playing,
they tell you don't run through his zone.
Speaker 2 (06:41):
Right, that's how you get hurt on the soft spot.
Set out those guys are.
Speaker 3 (06:46):
If there's a bull leg play, they keep carrying it
all the way past the numbers.
Speaker 2 (06:50):
At some point you have to sit down so.
Speaker 3 (06:52):
Your quarterback can set his feet square his shoulders and
deliver a strike.
Speaker 2 (06:56):
You can't keep running right, So I'm like, what's happened?
Speaker 1 (07:00):
Well, that to me, that goes back on coaching. You're
you're either coaching it to happen or you're allowing it
to happen one of the two. And that's you know
that that goes back on that for me, I just
want to get your thoughts on that, because I watched
that game. I was like, this is a game I'm
honestly see Colorad should want the last two and.
Speaker 2 (07:13):
I thought, so, yeah, this game's he c U and
b Yu. They should have won. Texta line five six
six nine Zera. I love to hear you guys talk
a little bit about what this defense.
Speaker 1 (07:21):
Could look like with Roach, green Law, and Sanders all healthy,
Denver Broncos for life. That's from the three aflf uh. Well,
I mean Sanders would be a backup in this in
this rotation. If green Law is healthy, that's pushing Singleton
into the sternad role where you're going downhill on sideline
a sideline which honestly is Singleton's best fit. And and
then Sanders would be a backup and special teamer. Roach
(07:44):
would be huge because he could plato with DJ and
take some of the nose reps off of him.
Speaker 3 (07:51):
Yeah, I would agree with that because now green Law
gives you more physicality, he gives you more athleticism at
the linebacker position.
Speaker 2 (08:02):
Obviously whatever better going away from the ball than any
other linebacker we have.
Speaker 3 (08:06):
Well, Yeah, and I like the idea of being able
to have those two guys, you know, Greenlaw and Alex
Singleton somewhat fought rolls, right, so Alex Singleton can do
what he does best and you play to that skill
set of Greenlaw as well. But having your defense at
full strength it always helps with anything, especially on the
(08:30):
office side of the ball. And it reminds me of
you know, when you think about.
Speaker 2 (08:37):
Twenty fifteen and that was Super Bowl fifty, think about.
Speaker 3 (08:41):
That group from the front line to the second level
to the guys in the back end. I had an
opportunity to talk to one of the guys who played
with the no Fly zone today and we were just
kind of reminiscing and looking at what they had from
a defensive standpoint, but also so what the Broncos have
(09:02):
for a defensive standpoint. And the one common denominator is
guess what way Phillips name came up and it so
while I was like, well, why is Waighte names coming up?
Because guests who learned a little Underway Vance Joseph. So
I see a lot of way Phillips and his play calling,
(09:22):
the scheming and how Dvance caused this game. So when
you are able to get these guys back, and the
Broncos are hoping by the time they get these guys
back been down, they're five and two.
Speaker 1 (09:34):
And that's I mean, that is a very real possibility
for where we're at right now, the Jets and the Giants,
you know those those feel like winnable games.
Speaker 2 (09:42):
You can be five and two.
Speaker 1 (09:42):
You can be getting these guys back just getting wrapped
up there. I wonder how much the impact of the
Ben Powers injury is going to affect this offensive unit overall.
Matt Perk feels is going to be the guy who
feels his first crack at filling in there. Calvin Throckmorton,
We'll get an opportunity if Matt Perk's out there. But
if those guys don't work out, from what I understand,
(10:03):
the Broncos are not intending to be buyers right now.
Speaker 2 (10:05):
You know from the at any position. But if those guys.
Speaker 1 (10:08):
Don't work out, Trevor Penning down there in New Orleans
feels like somebody you take a look at. The Saints
are not picking up his fifth year option and he
would be a cheap fill in option with obvious experience
in the system.
Speaker 2 (10:19):
Well, I'll say this.
Speaker 3 (10:20):
You know, obviously you will miss a guy like Ben
Powers because now you're talking about a little disruption and
that four men working unit as an officer line. But
this is not the time period where you can miss
a beat. The idea is that there are guys who
have been in this position for a while, kind of
climbing for their opportunity, and now, by the fate of
(10:43):
the I say football gods, you.
Speaker 2 (10:45):
Now have an opportunity. Now.
Speaker 3 (10:46):
The idea is that I don't expect the Broncos who
go away from what they have started to establish. And
what I mean by that is running the football right,
you know, I mean Ben Powers is out for as
long as he's out for.
Speaker 2 (10:58):
It's gould be out for too much.
Speaker 3 (10:59):
Minimum eight weeks doesn't change your mentality because if you
allow it to change your mentality, now you're playing to
your defense. Now you're going back to what it was before,
where it was just past past, past pass Happy allows
you to matriculate the ball down the field with the volume,
but it also puts a lot of pressure on your tackles,
(11:21):
puts a lot of pressure on your quarterback. So the
idea is make life easy for both, make life easy
for yourself. Just like you and I sat down at
the burndown and we saw for very familiar sight, we
saw the camera hit Coach Payton's play sheet at the top.
Speaker 2 (11:40):
It's not me just pull it out of.
Speaker 3 (11:41):
My pocket because I want to toss.
Speaker 2 (11:43):
This out, but I can't help but see it.
Speaker 3 (11:45):
It's right there on national television where I can see it,
and it's highlighted and dark black, and it says what
then that's right, It says run the ball, So freaking
run the ball. So having been powers out shouldn't change
your darn thing.
Speaker 2 (12:00):
Run the freaking ball. That's gonna be and that's gonna
be necessary.
Speaker 1 (12:04):
Because whatever you think of the Jets and their offenses
is frankly trash. But uh, defensively, they're a very good
football team. They they've got, they've got some players that
that defensive line's got.
Speaker 2 (12:14):
Will McDonald Harrison Phillips, Quinn Williams.
Speaker 1 (12:17):
Jermaine Johnson is injured, but Braden McGregor and Michael Clemens
are backups there and they both in fact, McGregor got
a sack of Dak Prescott in the last game. They've
got some players along that defensive line and so, uh
that that is something I think to keep your eye on.
There also some players in that secondary too. You've got
Sauce Garter that everybody's aware of, really, and you've got
Brandon Stevens and Andre Cisco back there. Cisco to free
(12:39):
safeties is a highly athletic free safety rangy guy.
Speaker 2 (12:42):
Uh kind of reminds a little bit of Justin in
terms of being.
Speaker 1 (12:44):
You know, being able to move on here and and
uh and and go after the football. So something to
keep your eye on a little bit on those deep
shots this week. They've got a very athletic secondary.
Speaker 3 (12:52):
You know what I just heard from hearing you say
that in watching the game this past weekend against the
Cowboys and shots. Shots sucks because you do that when
you set up the play action, Yeah, do you not, ye?
Speaker 1 (13:05):
And that's I mean they can set it up early
in this game. I think I think that's something that
can work. But that's gonna be interesting because that secondary
is athletic and they love to they love to turn
you over. So something to keep your eye on as
far as that goes. But your best bet for beating
this Jets team is to run on them, just as
Devonte Williams in this last game.
Speaker 2 (13:23):
You know what? That is wild to see.
Speaker 1 (13:28):
Vonte sixteen carries for a buck thirty five on the ground.
Speaker 3 (13:31):
I mean yeah, one touch run rushing touchdown last week
against the Jets and one past receiving tight end I
mean touchdown.
Speaker 2 (13:41):
So it's great.
Speaker 3 (13:43):
Look, I'm happy to see the young man have this
love of success, But I'm always like.
Speaker 2 (13:48):
Man, why couldn't we do that here? That could have
happened here?
Speaker 3 (13:53):
Is that somehow making Schottenheimer look like some kind of
offensive genius for being able to do it.
Speaker 1 (13:58):
He's averaging more yards per attempt than ever in his career.
His rookie year he averaged four point four. Second year
four to three, then three six, then three seven. He's
averaging five point seven to carry down there in Dallas
this year, five points.
Speaker 2 (14:11):
He also has five touchdowns already.
Speaker 1 (14:13):
That's the most he's ever had in a season, five
rushing touchdes I even talking about the receiver was just
five rushing touchdowns.
Speaker 3 (14:18):
You know, the only thing I can say, man is
God is good. God God is good because just think
about when Javonte was here. He was written off by
so many people. Oh he couldn't go all the injury
derelved him. Wait till we get back to being full
of strength. And he had no vision, he had no power,
(14:39):
he had no burst. But he's got a lot of
bursts in Dallas. It's a miracle.
Speaker 2 (14:44):
Yes I'm an ideo, Yes it's a festiveest miracle. But
he is. I mean, he's he's driving down there Dallas.
Speaker 1 (14:53):
We'll get a chance to see Javonte when he comes
to when uh, when we played out. That's gonna be interesting.
That is gonna be interesting because you know he's gonna
a chip. Of course, Look, how can a player not
have a chip.
Speaker 3 (15:05):
Knowing as though you were with the team for whatever reason,
you're no longer with him, you get an opportunity to
play because it's no different than breaking up with your
man or your girl and then you see them out.
Speaker 2 (15:19):
Now you got your new girl or your new dude,
and you.
Speaker 1 (15:22):
Strut well, you know what you actually think about that
new girl by whether you're strutting or whether you're ducking.
Speaker 2 (15:31):
You know exactly what I'm talking about him. Hopefully in
this case you're doing more strutting. Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
You know exactly what I'm talking about.
Speaker 1 (15:37):
I feel like, hey, baby, let's hit the sally over
here real quick in the dark back here.
Speaker 2 (15:41):
Yeah, you creepy.
Speaker 1 (15:41):
Look at alley. That looks like the place Batman's parents
were married.
Speaker 2 (15:45):
You're doing the Saturday Night fever. John Travoltes are struck.
Mark Sanchez, Wow? Love that note.
Speaker 1 (15:53):
The NFL six packs coming up. Next stop the NFL
six pack.
Speaker 2 (15:57):
It's time for the NFL.
Speaker 4 (16:00):
I'm gonna take a lot of year insight and inside
information you can't find anywhere else.
Speaker 2 (16:06):
No. Six the Top six NFL headlines. What brod Goos
left board.
Speaker 1 (16:11):
Ben Powers played all seventy four snaps and Sunday's victory
over the Eagles, but injured bicep during the game.
Speaker 2 (16:18):
It's gonna land him on the injury reserve.
Speaker 1 (16:19):
Powers will have to miss at least four games before
he's eligible to return, but with a bicep two that's
at least a two month injury. Powers are started forty
of all forty games since signing with the Bronx as
a free agent in twenty twenty three, and missed a
game since twenty twenty one, when he was at the
Ravens and had a foot injury that kept him.
Speaker 2 (16:34):
Out the final four games of that season.
Speaker 1 (16:37):
How concerned are we with Ben Powers being out at
left guard?
Speaker 3 (16:42):
I would be a little concern because the chemistry that
the team has developed thus far from the offensive line standpoint,
it's a group that when we look at Pro Football Focus,
they have them ranked at tops in the NFL as
far as offensive line groups because the lack of sacks
have given up. You know, for old Nicks, this is
gonna be somewhat of a little concern.
Speaker 2 (17:02):
You hope that the Broncos Depp can.
Speaker 3 (17:04):
Come in and fill in and not miss the beat.
But you don't want this one little incident, and I
don't want to make little light of it, but you
don't want this situation to keep you from running the ball.
Speaker 2 (17:14):
So it should.
Speaker 1 (17:16):
Yeah, I'm interested to see what Matt Park, Calvin throck
Morton at all can do. There's been some some calls
for Forsyth maybe there as well.
Speaker 2 (17:23):
We'll see Park will get first crack at it for sure,
and then we'll see from there.
Speaker 4 (17:27):
Pretty surprised that he was able to finish the game
with that injury.
Speaker 1 (17:30):
Sometimes adrenaline can make you, you know, can can get
you through stuff.
Speaker 2 (17:34):
You can have an injury and roll through stuff. I've
seen guys. I was in the army.
Speaker 1 (17:39):
I saw some guys take some you know, some get
some injuries that you would think you would slow them down.
And when then when the adrenaline wore off and there
it went into shock and all of a sudden, you know,
then they could do so I've seen I've seen people
work through stuff before.
Speaker 2 (17:51):
You know.
Speaker 3 (17:52):
Is equivalent to how let's say, like if if a
mom picks up the car.
Speaker 2 (17:56):
Yes, it's that type of things.
Speaker 3 (17:58):
So hey man, I wish him godspeed on getting back
on the field, But the brodcos have to move on
and is the next man up?
Speaker 2 (18:04):
Yep two.
Speaker 5 (18:06):
Former NFL quarterback and Fox broadcaster Mark Sanchez said nothing
in the aftermath of the bizarre Saturday incident in which
he was stabbed, arrested, and charged with multiple crimes.
Speaker 1 (18:17):
Today, his brother Nick issued a statement on behalf of
the Sanchez family say quote, this is a deeply distressing
time for everyone involved. Mark and our family are incredibly
grateful for the concern, love, and support and received in
the last few days. Mark remains under medical care for
the serious injuries he sustained and is focused on his
recovery as the legal process continues. We would like to
extend our heartfelt thanks to the first responders and medical staff.
(18:40):
On Sunday, Sanchez was officially charged with three misdemeanors. Today,
a battery charge is upgraded to a felony. Prosecutor left
the door, but for more charges pending the completion of
an ongoing investigation. Also today, Sanchez and Fox were sued
by the victim, the sixty nine year old truck driver
stabbed multiple times. Are at self defense. Now, you guys
(19:01):
have seen the photos on all this.
Speaker 4 (19:03):
After seeing those photos, I see why I was upgraded
to a film.
Speaker 2 (19:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (19:08):
Look, they've got they've got video and photos on this
And if you guys haven't seen them, and if you're squeamish,
I would suggest not. The victim in this case is
a sixty nine year old grease trap truck driver who
was cleaning out the grease traps or attempting to clean
out the grease traps of the restaurants at the two
hotels there.
Speaker 2 (19:23):
Mark Sanchez, who had been drinking.
Speaker 1 (19:25):
It was quote unquote under the influence of alcohol and
or an unknown substance, always got to thank Rick James
for the assist I don't even know where to start
with this. Mark Sanchez has definitely lost his job.
Speaker 2 (19:41):
It has. It's not official yet, but he will.
Speaker 1 (19:43):
He's looking at serious prison time here, you know, a
minimum of one years and up to six years just
for the charge that's out there so far.
Speaker 2 (19:51):
They're probably gonna be more on this.
Speaker 1 (19:54):
He got into an altercation with this gentleman telling him
he couldn't park there and the guys that you know, trying.
Speaker 2 (19:59):
To blow him all and get to do his job.
Speaker 1 (20:02):
Sanchez pursued him, assaulting him into his truck. The guy
tried to pepper spray Sanchez. Sanchez then injured his cheek
and that's where you can see those photos how deeply
he was wounded.
Speaker 2 (20:13):
There to the point.
Speaker 1 (20:14):
Where again the sixty nine year old truck driver after
pepper sprayed or proceeded to stab in self defense while
calling the police. I don't know what you guys take
on all this year, and this is just a bizarre
situation to me.
Speaker 2 (20:27):
Yeah, it is definitely a bizarre situation.
Speaker 3 (20:29):
Is one of those situations that when the news broke,
I was thinking, Okay, well, there's been a lot of
ai things that have taken place over the couple of weeks,
and I.
Speaker 2 (20:38):
Thought it was a fake.
Speaker 3 (20:39):
Story until I started to dive into more of it
and I was like, well, why would Mark Sanchez even
put himself in this type of situation? But you never
know what a person is going through and what is
happening with him. But this is just a bad look
all around for everyone involved, the guy cleaning the grease trap,
but more well I'm not gonna more importantly Mark Sanchez,
(21:01):
but Mark Sanchez has put himself in a tough situation here.
Speaker 2 (21:05):
Yeah. Does he ever work? I mean, does he ever
a broadcast again? After this? I can't see how?
Speaker 3 (21:11):
I mean, I I h wait a minute, We've seen
crazier things take place. Because someone may look at this as, oh,
you know what, that's great publicity, and you.
Speaker 4 (21:20):
Know we do love a comeback story in America, That's right, Seabiscuit,
Rocky Kim Kardashian the butt bumbler, pretty sure, never mind?
Yeah sorry.
Speaker 1 (21:35):
Cardinals coach Jonathan Gannon apologized to running back a Mari
Demarcado for the sideline interaction. Know if you guys saw
this or not, but after he dropped the football inches
short of a seventy two yard touchdown run, TV cameras
captured images of John Gannon brating Demarcado During his change,
Gannon seemed to a little initiate contact with the Marcado.
This morning, Gannon was asked about the exchange. Quote, I
(21:56):
didn't see the video, but yeah, I actually I woke
up this morning. I didn't feel great about it, honestly,
and so in a team meeting, I addressed it. I
apologized to Amri, I apologize to the team.
Speaker 2 (22:05):
I told him I let the moment of what happened
to get the better be there.
Speaker 1 (22:08):
Obviously, I try to be emotionally stable and called because
my job is to solve problems during a game. You
gotta lead the charge on that. So it's not really
who I am or who I want to be. Told
you guys that today it's a mistake by me, and
it's just like everybody in there. Everybody made some kind
of mistake yesterday, which is you know, culminates and why
we didn't win the game. You can't let it happen
and move forward. The Marcado's mistake kept the Cardinals from
(22:30):
taking a twenty eight to six lead in the fourth
quarter and was probably the most avoidable miscue, especially after
colch receiver at and I Mitchell made a similar mistake
earlier this week forgetting his coaching staff to see Mitchell
play and remind all the players that never do And
the fact that Demarcatta did it seven days later is.
Speaker 2 (22:44):
Was fair by de Marcado.
Speaker 1 (22:48):
The Cardinals, by the way, you've set an NFL record
losing the three games in a row by a last
second field goal. If you think the Broncos last second
two game in a row, which stuff was bad, you
gotta feel bad for the Cardinals on this.
Speaker 2 (22:58):
What did you think?
Speaker 1 (22:59):
I don't Nick, you've seen the vide you know what
you what did you think about him berating Demarcado after
pulling out Jonathan Taylor.
Speaker 3 (23:07):
Well, first and foremost, when looking at the video, I
was like, oh my god, is this really happening.
Speaker 2 (23:12):
I know certain things happened.
Speaker 3 (23:14):
Between coach and player on the field, but looking at
the video and I know you were trying to explain
to me what happened. You know, it's like any coach
kind of berating a player on the sideline after a
disastrous play. But then the continuation was the part that
got me where you know, it seemed as though John
McGannon kind of like maybe slapped him in the chest.
Speaker 2 (23:36):
Right, That's where it seemed like.
Speaker 3 (23:37):
Ooh, maybe behind closed doors you might do that, But
on the field, it just the visual of it just.
Speaker 2 (23:44):
Looks really bad.
Speaker 3 (23:46):
I know you were trying to explain to me what
was trying to happen, but all in all, the visual
just looks really bad.
Speaker 4 (23:53):
I hope d marcart de Marcado apologized to the team
as well, because he cost him that game. That game's
over if they go up twenty eight, and it was
just a comedy of airs after that.
Speaker 2 (24:03):
Yeah, I think the question is why is it that
players continue to do this? I miss me.
Speaker 1 (24:10):
That's one the first thing I am I am saying
when I'm when I'm on with my team, like if
there's a new head coach, is if any one of
you have a touchdown, you drop the ball before they
you're cut the next day. You are not coming back.
You're done. Then you are done on this team. Carry
the ball through, add it to the referee. Then you
could do your dance.
Speaker 2 (24:27):
That's my rule. And then we're fighting people who don't
do it.
Speaker 3 (24:30):
I think the thing is nowadays that some guys are
not used to scoring, but also guys are now becoming
so used to celebrating, and that is a problem.
Speaker 1 (24:39):
Well, and that becomes the celebration becomes the thing. They're
so intense I get to the celebration that they miss
the other thing.
Speaker 2 (24:45):
That's what I'm saying. Like for me, we would coach
him up.
Speaker 1 (24:47):
You're taking the ball to the referee and handing it
to him before you do anything else.
Speaker 2 (24:51):
And if you don't, that's a fine.
Speaker 3 (24:54):
If Bill Parcells, Janin and Gannon, you Mercado will never
play again on the cards. He was a stickler for
doing the right thing and don't put yourself before the team.
So you guys have to get out of this whole.
Speaker 2 (25:12):
Hey, look at me, look at me, look at the
name on the back.
Speaker 3 (25:14):
And hopefully guys will learn from this and never do
it again.
Speaker 1 (25:18):
Four Yeah Chargers placed in Omario and Hampton on the
injured reserve. They do not have their starting running back
for at least four weeks.
Speaker 2 (25:27):
Jim Harbaugh said his presser that.
Speaker 1 (25:29):
Hampton's being placed on IR with an ankle injury he
suffered during Sunday's loss to the Commanders. He was spotted
in a walking boot after Sunday's game. Because of the
latest of several players to be placed on IR for
the Chargers, I think Backnagie Harris out for the season,
left tackle Rashawn Slater as well. Joe Alt that moved
over to left tackle to replace Slater, miss Sunday's contest
with an ankle injury. In five games, Hampton rushed for
three hundred fourteen yards two touchdowns and caught twenty passes
(25:51):
for one hundred thirty six yards. Hassan Haskins is currently
the only other running back on the roster. They do
have Kamandi Vidal and Lamar Johnson on the practice squad.
Argers beset by injuries this season? How much you think
you're going to miss Marion Hampton.
Speaker 3 (26:05):
Oh, They're gonna miss him a lot, because once Nije
went down with his actes injury, Marion Hampton was a
beast running the ball like you watch him in at
that Giants game, watching both him and Cam Scattabu just
run through opposing defenders.
Speaker 2 (26:21):
I was like, man, this is old throwback football.
Speaker 3 (26:24):
But now, as though Amarii Hampton is out for a while,
I mean, isn't pauland Michigan running back because the guy
is on that roster and he's a big, physical guy,
and Harbord knows about him from his days and Michigan
now and gives him an opportunity to really showcase, you know,
what he can do.
Speaker 2 (26:40):
I mean, that's what this league is. He comes down
to the next.
Speaker 3 (26:43):
Man up now with has can be as successful running
the ball physically as Marion Hampton.
Speaker 2 (26:49):
We'll get a chance to see. We will get a
chance to see him. Five.
Speaker 1 (26:56):
After a few games of disappointing play, Jake Browning might
not be the Week six darter for the Bengals, thank God. Yet, hilariously,
they're still not looking outside the club since today, Hey
go Zach Taylor, Toll reporters the club's evaluating its options
to start at quarterback against Green Bay, saying quote, we'll
see where it goes. I think, like all personnel decisions,
we've got to evaluate it, Jake's been.
Speaker 2 (27:16):
Accountable for how the game went for him.
Speaker 1 (27:18):
He completed twenty six to forty passes for two to
fifty one yards, three touchdowns three picks in the loss
to Detroit. The Bengals also have old Broncos friend Brett
Rippin on the fifty roster hashtag let it ryp. They
also have former Packers quarterback Sean Clifford and Mike White,
who somehow is still in the league on the practice squad,
but all those single callers are new to the team.
(27:39):
Rippin's been with the club the longest, arriving on August
twenty seventh. Taylor said, trying to do everything we can
to speed up the process for those guys.
Speaker 2 (27:47):
Try to be creative in a lot of different ways.
Speaker 1 (27:48):
Get those guys the information where they can accelerate their
learning process.
Speaker 2 (27:51):
As fast as possible. You just have so few reps.
Speaker 1 (27:54):
Every rep is critical if I get to if you
get two reps on a play during the week, a
pass play, it's quite a bit two full speed reps
difficult to balance the quarterbacks. How do you feel about
Brett Rippon possibly playing for the Bengals against the Green
Bay Packers.
Speaker 3 (28:10):
It's better than what they have thus far. And I'm
sure Brant would agree with that, and why not. What's
the worst that could happen.
Speaker 4 (28:17):
Yeah, You're lose another game by a fifteen points.
Speaker 3 (28:19):
Yeah, so let him get out there, let him try
to make some plays and develop some chemistry, because what's happening.
Speaker 2 (28:25):
Right now is at working. But the other part of
this is this is stupid.
Speaker 1 (28:29):
There are quarterbacks available on other teams that you could
go get right now.
Speaker 2 (28:33):
Listen, you're still competitive, you could still be in it.
Speaker 3 (28:36):
You're going to You're gonna need that draft capital, right,
I don't care if it's a fourth, fifth or sixth.
As bad as this defense is for Cincinnati, do ride
the way continue this because when Joe Burrow comes back,
I mean, I'm not talking about this year. In twenty
twenty six, you want to make sure that you are
armed up because.
Speaker 2 (28:54):
You're gonna lose Trey Hendrickson. You don't lose them after
the season.
Speaker 1 (28:58):
Yeah, if you get competitory when you do, you dude,
you you are. You're still in the thick of things
in a soft division that's got Baltimore sitting at the
bottom of it.
Speaker 2 (29:06):
Right now, you are in the thick of this, So
it was ridiculous. So what quarterback do you go out here?
Go get Jamis, go ask him about Kirk Cousins. I
don't care anybody Kirk Cousins. You pick your interest of
I am.
Speaker 1 (29:18):
You are still you are an easy division.
Speaker 2 (29:22):
Hey maybe gets his show in the NFL. Looks good. Yes,
Look I love Brett Rippin, all right.
Speaker 1 (29:29):
Brett rippind made fun of me for it and this
shirt said it was too tight, and I was like,
you haven't seen the other shirts.
Speaker 2 (29:35):
Every time Brett comes back to town.
Speaker 1 (29:37):
Man, he's a laugh, he's funny, he's hilarious, and he
will take your money.
Speaker 2 (29:40):
If you play him in golf, Do not play.
Speaker 4 (29:42):
If it was on the golf course, I got all
the faith in Brett Richard.
Speaker 2 (29:45):
Absolutely he will destroy you on the golf course.
Speaker 1 (29:47):
But uh, as far as the rest of it goes,
Brett Rivett is not winning you.
Speaker 2 (29:51):
I've seen Brett Rifford play Red.
Speaker 1 (29:52):
Riffitt is a guy you definitely want your quarterback room,
and you definitely.
Speaker 2 (29:56):
Don't want to have to rely on him for multiple games.
With all due just give him a week, see what happens,
all right? Two Day six.
Speaker 1 (30:07):
Giants quarterback Jackson Dart remains on the team's injury report
heading into a Thursday night game against the Eagles.
Speaker 2 (30:13):
Could we be setting.
Speaker 1 (30:14):
Oh, with all the injuries he's accumulating, could we be
setting up for the return of Russ Dart was a
full participant all of last week, even though he had
a hamstring injury as listed on Monday's report. It's just
an estimation because it diemed not actually hold a practice,
but they estimated him as limited.
Speaker 2 (30:29):
Dart was twenty six.
Speaker 1 (30:30):
To forty two hundred two yards and two touchdowns, but
two interceptions, and he also lost a fumble in that game.
Speaker 2 (30:36):
Dart was nursing a hamstring.
Speaker 1 (30:38):
Going in now apparently has an ankle issue on top
of it, and the style of play that.
Speaker 2 (30:42):
He has leads to injury.
Speaker 1 (30:44):
Are the Giants going to have to try to get Jackson.
Speaker 2 (30:47):
Dart to stop running the football as much? Or are
we going to start seeing Russell Wilson again?
Speaker 3 (30:52):
Well, first of all, you allowed him to be who
he is. That's how you won the game against the Charges.
You just can't go and started to changing right now.
Let him continue to be who he is. Just tell
him just be a little bit smarter. But what Jackson
Dart is finding out. It's hard being on top the
idea that you had a great game against the Chargers.
You gave him their first loss. But now the expectations
(31:14):
in New York only go up.
Speaker 4 (31:17):
They're going to Jamis if they if they've been if
if Dark Turt, They're not going back to Russ.
Speaker 2 (31:22):
Russ is the backup. He's Russ has already come in
for snaps, which I think they'll mostly. I just want
you to lose your bath. Yeah, that's it.
Speaker 1 (31:32):
I'm praying for Cincinnati to go get Russ and let
him prosper with those receivers too.
Speaker 3 (31:38):
I know you may not be a huge fan, but
the idea of Higgins, Kosecki, Chase.
Speaker 2 (31:44):
Brown to me Tibar, Yeah.
Speaker 3 (31:48):
Yeah all over again yea, minus the fact that I
mean you won't have a legit boom.
Speaker 2 (31:53):
He's a legit of doom and.
Speaker 4 (31:54):
That huge fan of Russ as a person, and I
would love to see him have success somewhere, but it's
not gonna be.
Speaker 2 (32:01):
He really was a loser state in or Bet.
Speaker 1 (32:03):
He's the Seas actually, although so yours Chesterfields is still
playing and we're not worried about him winning the more
wins bet.
Speaker 2 (32:11):
How sad is.
Speaker 4 (32:11):
That they're not gonna win any games.
Speaker 3 (32:14):
They're not gonna win in London on Saturday, so that's
so maybe when they play the Dolphins, I have a chance.
Speaker 2 (32:19):
Who knows. Brocos country today curls.
Speaker 3 (32:23):
Are where they're starting getting rough.
Speaker 2 (32:26):
The tiny ship was tossed.
Speaker 3 (32:28):
If not for the courage of the field let's crew,
the minnow would be lost.
Speaker 2 (32:33):
The minnow would be lost.
Speaker 3 (32:35):
You know.
Speaker 2 (32:36):
Part one out is the festiveest miracle
