Speaker 1 (00:00):
Filmlani filling in for Benjamin Alright, I'm here in studio
with Nick Ferguson breaking down this Broncos and Saints matchup.
Looking forward to seeing the team back out on the field.
A quick turnaround here after, you know, a frustrating game
against the Chargers. The Broncos will be going up against
Spencer Rattler for the Saints here, another rookie quarterback. We'll

(00:24):
talk about the defensive game plan here in just a second,
but just want to wrap up something we were talking
about with bo Nicks and maybe what can he do
to help this team get off to a faster start,
and just in general, how can the offense get off
to a faster start? Nick, who out there on offense
is going to help him do this?

Speaker 2 (00:46):
Courtland Sutton Cortland Sutton is definitely the Broncos number one receiver,
big body receiver. He is a great target for those
fifty to fifty balls, but more importantly, calling is great
on those throwbacks. Those back showed the fades right, He
showed that when Russell was here last year. It's the

(01:08):
reason why Colin had ten touchdowns, something the Broncos receiver hadn't.

Speaker 3 (01:12):
Done around here.

Speaker 2 (01:13):
In a while, and if I'm bow I'm looking for that, right,
I'm looking for someone that I can rely on. And
usually we talk about quarterbacks. Any quarterbacks, Well, who's your
security blanket? Who's your security blanket?

Speaker 3 (01:28):
Right now?

Speaker 2 (01:28):
In my mind there are two security blankets for bow Knicks.
One is Carling, the other's Davante Right, And the idea
is that when you have a running back and I
hear people talk about it all the time, Oh, I
got to run the ball. You got to run the ball.
And then when you asked them, okay, what runs are
you running?

Speaker 4 (01:47):
I don't just say run the ball specifically.

Speaker 3 (01:49):
Specifically what play?

Speaker 2 (01:51):
Because I can use my phone and act as though
as a football and run into that wall.

Speaker 3 (01:56):
But where is it getting me other than concussed? Right?
So you have to think of creative ways.

Speaker 2 (02:02):
So it has to big evolution of his offense, getting
Courtland Sudden involved, even if that means you have to
use Detroit Franklin and you have to use Marvin Mims
two guys I feel who have not been used as frequently.
And Marvin Mimms man, I don't know what the issue is.

Speaker 3 (02:23):
If he's in a dog house.

Speaker 2 (02:24):
If you want to look at it that way, but
you got to get him a little more involved.

Speaker 4 (02:29):
I agree.

Speaker 1 (02:29):
I mean I think that, Look, he was the first
player that the Broncos took in the draft two years ago.
And you know, Sean had that famous line, you know, like, hey,
when you watch tape of Mimes, it's like you're driving
on the weekend. There's no traffic, so it's wide open
out there. That's what he said about Mems. And we
saw that a little bit as a rookie. You know,

(02:52):
Russ was throwing those balls up, those moon balls. You know,
he was explosive. He made some big plays, and you know,
I think that Mims is is the kind of guy
who gives you something a little bit different than what
some of these other guys can give you. You know,
like Corland is your big guy, your big body guy.
You know, Humphreys the same way. Vele is a big guy.

(03:16):
But Mems is that burst guy. He's got that extra gear.
You know that he's got a tool that you know,
is a little bit different. And you know, I just
thought that, Hey, they got rid of Judy this offseason,
moved on from Tim Patrick. I was like, Oh, they're
clearing the way for Mims like this is he's gonna
get a lot of targets this year.

Speaker 4 (03:37):
I just haven't seen it.

Speaker 3 (03:38):
Well, what was that.

Speaker 2 (03:39):
Comment again that Coach Payton made about Mems in the highway?
What was it driving on the weekend? Hey, listen, it's
not the weekend?

Speaker 3 (03:47):
Is it Thursday? So we need to get Marvin Mahms.

Speaker 2 (03:51):
On I ten in New Orleans, and we need to
get him down the field because you're going to need
to find a way to back off Tyren Matthew, who
is still a hell of a football player at this
point in his career.

Speaker 3 (04:05):
You got to get him out of the box. You
got to find a way to And.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
I'm sure Coach Payton understands this because the Honey Badger
is great at anticipation and if you can't really threaten
him down the field, those safeties are gonna sit flat footed.
And if the idea is that the Broncos wants to
want to run the ball to establish some type of identity,
those safeties are coming downhill right away.

Speaker 1 (04:29):
Be Joe Woods for a second here, how would you
defend this Broncos offense?

Speaker 2 (04:35):
I would defend this Broncos offense running a little of
cover two. And here's why, because when I'm playing cover two,
I know that I can protect my corners over the
top because I have two safeties. The Broncos don't use
their tight end, so that threat of running four verticals
down the middle is not even a problem. And then

(04:55):
my safety is sitting at twelve to fourteen yards. They
can fast flow in the run game if you want to.
Now also what I can do sitting in cover two.
If you decide that you want to run those in
breaking routes at fifteen yards, we're gonna run robber coverage,
but we're gonna play it from cover two. So what
that means is, though your your safeties are gonna be
ten to twelve, twelve to fourteen yards deep, two yards

(05:19):
inside the numbers one of those safeties depending on who
it is Joe what designates and most likely I would
designate Tyren matthew Any. In breaking routes, you cut them.
And here's a great thing about it. You don't have
to move to do it. You understand where if it's
thirty eight, you know where the y'all market are is located.

(05:39):
So the Broadcos have to if it's thirty eight, they
gonna have to go nine or ten. You just sit
where you are. Soon as you see the bowl nicks
looked in a certain direction, you see it and break
it up. Go right now, you cut it off. So
now we're playing both the run and the past at
the same time.

Speaker 1 (05:54):
Yeah, it does seem like defenses are trying to do.
You know, they're gonna say, look, you're gonna have to
beat us throwing the ball a little bit deeper.

Speaker 4 (06:06):
You're gonna have to make us play.

Speaker 1 (06:08):
It's just gonna take a lie for us to shift
while we're doing defensively because we don't think you could
beat us this way.

Speaker 2 (06:13):
Right, But this is where the athleticism of bow comes in.
But everything that I told you it is not accounting
for the quarterback.

Speaker 3 (06:22):
That's the X factor.

Speaker 2 (06:23):
If they're taking these things away from you, well, you
still have to move the ball down the field.

Speaker 3 (06:29):
So pull it and run. Okay, if there's an opportunity,
you pull.

Speaker 2 (06:32):
It in run and then even if you're not going
to run the ball, have the defense think that there's
a threat that you're going to run the ball. By
running parallel to the line of scrimmage, it is going
to draw defense.

Speaker 3 (06:46):
It's like little kids the candy they can't.

Speaker 2 (06:49):
Defenders cannot resist because how many times do we get
a chance to hit a starting quarterback. Very few times.
So once he starts to move, they're going to take
their eyes off their coverage and they're going to try
to get a hit on you, giving Bow an opportunity
to find an open receiver.

Speaker 1 (07:06):
We have seen him have success there where he avoids
a couple of rushers there and then all you know,
things open up downfield and he's had those big plays.
So yeah, they're gonna have to do something where they're
forcing defenses to rethink how they're attacking the Broncos offense
because so far, like especially in these like sort of
extended ruts that they get into where it's a lot

(07:28):
of three and outs, they can't stay on the field
three quarters twenty seven yards those long periods of time
where there just nothing feels like it's working. They're gonna
have to figure out a way to just bust that
open and make defenses adjust.

Speaker 2 (07:42):
Well, here's something I saw last week that I really love,
and I don't know why more teams don't do it, because,
like I was telling you earlier in the break, football
is mathematics.

Speaker 3 (07:54):
Right, It is mathematics.

Speaker 2 (07:56):
And the way I look at it, I said, well,
looking at a field with a bunch of the defensive
players set up, where do you have the numerical advantage
on the outside. Last week they ran a toss play
with Audrick Estimat and he.

Speaker 3 (08:11):
Got a pretty decent game. But it could have been more.

Speaker 2 (08:15):
But the reason it wasn't more because downfield blocking as
a receiver, you an extension of the run game. So
you have to make sure you sustain that block. And
dare I say, if you have to drive a guy
into the tunnel, so be it, but make sure that
your guy wasn't a guy that made the game save

(08:35):
and tackle.

Speaker 1 (08:36):
Yeah, well, bust one of those open or hit one
of these big plays.

Speaker 4 (08:40):
And I think that's all you need.

Speaker 2 (08:44):
That is the confidence builder and the coaching staff based
on what they've done so far, even though it's on
a short week, it gives them confidence that they can
keep calling this play to this player on this side
of the field.

Speaker 1 (08:58):
Yeah, it's about confidence, right, Like, I trust these guys,
They're gonna he's gonna make a play.

Speaker 3 (09:03):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (09:04):
You know what it's like if you've ever been a
passenger in a car where someone else was driving.

Speaker 4 (09:09):
You're a little nervous.

Speaker 3 (09:10):
They are you a little nervous.

Speaker 2 (09:12):
Know why you don't trust their decision making right? And
sometimes what happens. I know, I know Grant's shaking his head.
I know I'm not the only one you're trying to
You're trying to stop the car.

Speaker 3 (09:22):
It's your foot of you on the passment's.

Speaker 2 (09:23):
Side, and you're trying to, you know, push the break
through the floor, and you realize, guess what, I'm.

Speaker 3 (09:28):
Not driving right. It goes back to being confident. I
need to have.

Speaker 2 (09:33):
Confidence in you that I can put, in that situation
my life in your hands.

Speaker 3 (09:38):
The same is for players as a receiver.

Speaker 2 (09:40):
Can I trust you as a quarterback to know you're
not gonna put me in harm's way by throwing leading
me too far to the defender.

Speaker 3 (09:47):
The confidence needs to be there.

Speaker 1 (09:49):
Maybe that's something for ms too, like hey, maybe if
he hits on one of these, his confidence will get
going and then you'll see that connection, maybe some of
that chemistry because like Carlyon makes those plays and then
you're like, okay, they're developing that chemistry. That's a security blanket.
You gotta make some of those plays and develop that
bond with your quarterback.

Speaker 2 (10:09):
All Right, So early in the show I mentioned, you know,
made a comp as far as bow Knicks to Batman
and in favor of you know, the Peanuts and the
fact that we we were, you know, not that far
from halloweens and you.

Speaker 3 (10:24):
Know, great Pumpkin, Great Pumpkins, Charlie Brown.

Speaker 2 (10:27):
Hey, if bow Nicks's line is he needs his blanket, yeah,
who's gonna be his blanket on Thursday night?

Speaker 4 (10:36):
Linus needs a blanknket.

Speaker 2 (10:37):
Either Linus needs a blanket or Batman needs a robin.

Speaker 3 (10:41):
Either way you choose.

Speaker 4 (10:42):
He needs some help, He needs help, need some help,
needs help.

Speaker 1 (10:46):
Yeah, And it's just hard because after tough games, you
look at all these pieces and you're like, okay, how
are we evaluating his growth? Because it doesn't seem like
he's getting enough help. So it makes it hard to
evaluate bow in my mind.

Speaker 3 (11:01):
It does.

Speaker 2 (11:02):
For certain people, they already have their mind formulated on
who bo is and they've already projected six games in. Yeah,
for some people it's ridiculous. But to evaluate, honestly, well,
what are you evaluating?

Speaker 1 (11:18):
Well, I think that just I think the big thing
is you want to see him improve week to week
to week, right, that's I think that's just the big thing.
And you're like, okay, well did he look better against
the Chargers than he did against the Raiders?

Speaker 4 (11:31):
You know? And what ways?

Speaker 1 (11:34):
How are you Is he cleaner coming out of the
pocket with the team? Is he cleaner before the snap?
Is he cleaner with his footwork?

Speaker 4 (11:41):
You know? Is he are his eyes in good spots?
You know?

Speaker 1 (11:44):
How's his mechanics? Is he making the right reads out there?
You want to just see all of those things get
a little bit better every week. But when when one
they're not on the field that long, and when nothing
seems to be going right, and you're like, okay, well
there's injury reason, there's guys doing this, and then and
he doesn't have the playmakers, you're like, okay, well, how

(12:05):
how are.

Speaker 4 (12:05):
We judging this guy?

Speaker 1 (12:06):
How are we making it so that we can see
he's getting better?

Speaker 2 (12:09):
Well? And naturally, the first impulse is to look at
a quarterbacks footwork That tells you everything. If he is
he driving off his back foot? Is he transferring his
weight to his front foot?

Speaker 4 (12:22):
We've seen him off his back foot a bunch.

Speaker 2 (12:25):
Yet little Brett far there in certain moments, but knowing
as though it's a work in progress.

Speaker 3 (12:32):
Yeah, right, and just.

Speaker 2 (12:33):
Once again, it's one of the things that he is
improving on, right, and let's not put an over emphasis
on certain things.

Speaker 3 (12:42):
And once again, this is how you make things easier
for him.

Speaker 2 (12:46):
If you're calling plays, you scheme guys open, and you
open it up where okay, well here's the first play.
First play, we want to run somewhat of a curl route. Right,
God flashes his numbers. It puts us and maybe a
second and sixth situation, but it builds a confidence and
continuity between you and a receiver. It sets the offensive

(13:08):
line up because now they made they sustain a good
block because it's one, one thousand and two, one thousand,
ball this out. Now we in somewhat of a rhythm.
And that's the biggest thing for me when I watched
the Broncos is there's not a lot of rhythm to
their offense.

Speaker 4 (13:25):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (13:25):
And then they get in third and long situations similar
to last year, and then now it's panic mode.

Speaker 3 (13:31):
Now someone is trying to press to make a play.

Speaker 2 (13:34):
And then now you get a turnover or you get
an offensive lineman trying to make his block too early.
There's a false start. Now you're backing up. Now you
got to pump the ball.

Speaker 1 (13:44):
Like the offense is sort of like an orchestra, right, Like,
everything's got to just sort of work in unison there.
And when it feels like the Broncos aren't in that,
you know, all operating on the same page. It feels
ugly at times, you know, but obviously I don't think
it's as bad as it look. You know, like that
offense is not that that to pass for twenty seven

(14:07):
yards and three quarters. I mean, they're capable of much
more than that. But when it's not working, it just
spirals out like you kind of just said it, and
it really doesn't look good.

Speaker 3 (14:17):
Have you ever.

Speaker 2 (14:19):
Gone to like a symphony or something like that, or
outdoor musical? Yeah, all right, so everything is in unison,
right Like for some reason, if here is the crescendos
at the end of the.

Speaker 3 (14:32):
Night and the French horn is out tuned, everyone knows that.

Speaker 4 (14:36):
You're noticed it.

Speaker 2 (14:37):
You notice that. But it's the same thing. We'll we
be thinking from a team standpoint. You know, you need
the base, you need the violins, it's all run. All
we need to work in the unison together, and sometimes
it gets frustrating, and I'm sure it gets frustrating for
the players when things don't work out the way that

(14:57):
they think that should.

Speaker 3 (14:59):
Based on how they practice.

Speaker 2 (15:00):
Yeah, but once again, that's when they have to go
to the sideline and they have to push the coaches
out and they have to remind themselves, this is our team.
We need to go out there and execute.

Speaker 4 (15:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (15:12):
Well, I'm looking forward to seeing just what they're able
to do, because I do think that we've talked a
lot about that twenty seven yard in three quarters. They
got to take that personally. I think they're gonna come
out fired up, and we'll just see if they're able
to get off.

Speaker 4 (15:26):
On a hot start. Here.

Speaker 1 (15:27):
I mentioned that we'll talk about Spencer Rattler. We'll do
that after the break here on Broncos Country tonight. Nick,
we've talked a lot about Boon. Nick's talked about this
offense and how it can get faster. Let's talk about
the other side of the ball here a little bit
and talk about the defense having to adjust without PS two.
They're going up against Spencer Rattler, another rookie quarterback here,

(15:51):
and this is sort of going to be a shell
of the real Saints offense here no Derek Carr, no
Chris Olave, no Rashiet out there, and no Taysom Hill.
So what is this defense gonna look like? What are
they gonna do?

Speaker 2 (16:11):
Well, I'm thinking Vance is going to go out there
and he's gonna run his pressure packages. They're just gonna
look a little different. Because this is a short week.
You can't fine tune everything. Like the practices this week
for both teams is looking over the film, doing a
lot of walkthroughs over mistakes and what you wanna run

(16:33):
this week. As far as game plan now known as
though this was going to be a short week, maybe
guys on both sides, Clint Kubiak and Sean Payton may
throw a couple of wrinkles in there, just a couple
of plays here and there.

Speaker 3 (16:47):
But this is not just going.

Speaker 2 (16:48):
To be someone of a cakewalk for the Broncos defense.
And let me break it down to you this way.
In the last game against the Buccaneers, where the defense
gave up to just say, fifty one points to Baker Mayfield,
they got three takeaways. Now, the only the bad part
about that is that Spencer Raller gave two takeaways to

(17:10):
the gate back, but Chris Olive had one reception five yards.

Speaker 3 (17:18):
Rashid Shahid that she.

Speaker 2 (17:20):
Had seven targets one reception eleven yards now in that game,
and I'm gonna take out those players' numbers.

Speaker 3 (17:29):
Spencer Rattler still threw for two hundred.

Speaker 2 (17:32):
And thirty three yards, But where did most of those
yards come from?

Speaker 3 (17:36):
Us?

Speaker 2 (17:37):
Foster Morole tight end, Juwan Johnson tight end and what
did we see the Broncos have issues with against the
Raiders tight end. So don't take this game for granted
and thinking all of a sudden, it's gonna be a cakewalk.
Because Bob Mims, who's now going to be one of
the starting receivers, in the game against the Buccaneers, he

(18:00):
had eight targets, he had five receptions for forty five yards.

Speaker 4 (18:05):
And a touchdown and.

Speaker 3 (18:06):
A touchdown, So this is not gonna be a cake walk.

Speaker 2 (18:10):
Now, well, Clint Kubiak have to be a little more creative, absolutely,
but this is not a team that is going to
walk in tomorrow night feeling sorry for themselves.

Speaker 1 (18:23):
It's like they have the preparation, like they know they're
gonna be without those guys, Okay, how do we adjust that?
I think just having a little more time to figure out, okay,
what we're gonna do, you know, versus when you lose
a lavee in the in the game there, oh now
it's it kind of screws up the whole game plan.
Now they have some time to plan how they want
to attack this Broncos team. And you know, it's gonna

(18:44):
be interesting without PS two because you can't just say, Okay,
this side of the field is shut down. Now that
we can bring an extra pass rusher, the Broncos are
going to have to, you know, get Spencer Rattler. They're
gonna have to get to him, maybe with some with
just four guys, you know, maybe they're gonna have to
make him think a little bit more. Maybe they're gonna

(19:05):
have to disguise some coverages. I'm just sort of thinking, like,
how are they gonna adjust without one of the best
defensive players in the NFL.

Speaker 3 (19:14):
Well, he's gonna have to be a collective.

Speaker 2 (19:16):
Every guy's going to have to be beholding to their responsibilities.
And when you look at Spencer Raller even throw he
threw two interceptions. The idea is that he's still a
mobile quarterback. He can hurt you with his legs in
his arms. So guys are going to have to be
more attentive when it comes to past coverage. And what

(19:39):
I mean by that is communicating in the back end.
If it's man coverage and you have receivers who are
in cut splits, and what I mean by that, they're
inside the numbers. Why they're inside the numbers? Are you
talking across the formation from left to right to right
to left. That is the type of communication that I
am talking about, because this can't be a game where

(20:02):
you have breakdowns of both the offense and defensive side
of the ball.

Speaker 3 (20:05):
Because if this is one of those games where we're.

Speaker 2 (20:08):
Talking about like a ten, twelve or fourteen type game,
it plays in the hands of the Saints. The Saints
want to keep the game close with an opportunity to
win it late. That's what they want to do. The
Broncos mentality should be, No, we're going in from the
word go and we're trying to blow the doors off
of it. We're trying to put the Saints in a

(20:30):
position where they're chasing points, because if they're chasing points
helps her defense. It helps her defense because now I
don't care if they throw a ski screen to Alba Kamara.

Speaker 3 (20:40):
No, we're just getting a field. Yeah, and that has
to be the thing.

Speaker 2 (20:44):
So once again, the Broncos cannot be put into a
place where, like last week against the Chargers, they are
chasing points. You cannot be in that situation on the road.

Speaker 1 (20:56):
What'd you see in that Chargers game? Like Justin Herbert
had a lot of success. It seemed like he was
just you know, picking and choosing where he wanted to
go with the ball. He had a lot of time
back there we saw running back catch the ball out
of the backfield. But what'd you notice when were they
having success against the Broncos.

Speaker 2 (21:13):
No, for me, Phil, it looked like vintage Dann Marino
to me. And the reason I say that not to
kind of come apart put Justin Herbert in that Damn
Marino category.

Speaker 3 (21:23):
But Dan Marino wasn't.

Speaker 2 (21:25):
Fast, right, But Dan Marino had the ability to diagnose
quickly and get the ball out of his hands.

Speaker 3 (21:32):
And that's what Herbert was doing.

Speaker 2 (21:35):
He was not giving the Broncos edge pressure an opportunity
to get to him.

Speaker 3 (21:39):
Because think about.

Speaker 2 (21:40):
It, it was a brilliant thing because we knew going
into the game that Broncos. The Broncos were one of
the top teams as far as pressure rates. The press
is coming, They're gonna come at some point. Get the
ball out of your hands, look around the field and
figure out, well, who are you gonna go to right away,
and get the ball to that guy and let that

(22:00):
guy actually work.

Speaker 3 (22:02):
And JK.

Speaker 2 (22:03):
Dobbins was a huge part of that in the run
game and in the passing game.

Speaker 3 (22:07):
And I can.

Speaker 2 (22:08):
See a situation where the Saints deployed that same thing,
right they deployed saying listen, this is Clint Kubiak. He
is a son of Gary Kubiak, who was an understudy
of Mike Shanahan. So is there gonna be some outside

(22:30):
stretch zone plays. Yes, it's gonna be some insights home.
And over the past two weeks the Broncos have struggled
with trapp play, inside trap plays and then inside zone plays.

Speaker 3 (22:41):
So where do you think they're gonna run? I'm just
saying yep. And then if you get the.

Speaker 2 (22:47):
Broncos defense concerned about run plays, I just told you
about Foster Monroe, who's quite familiar with the Broncos from
his days with the Raiders and Juwan Johnson two tight ends. Yeah,
talking tight ends something that the Broncos have not exploited.

Speaker 3 (23:04):
The Saints have the ability to do that on Thursday night.

Speaker 1 (23:07):
Yeah, I mean it seems like, yeah, this was like
a there's they're gonna have to show something on defense,
especially those linebackers. Hey, hey we can play smart. We're
not just gonna get too far up the field. Good
and after the quarterback, we gotta be smart here. We
got to diagnose what's going on with Kamara. I mean,
Alvin has had I mean he's he's getting up there

(23:29):
in age a little bit, but it doesn't seem like it,
you know, looking at his stats. I mean, he had
that game against Dallas this year, one hundred and fifteen
yards and three touchdowns. So he's more than capable of
toast toasting a defense. He had a touchdown last week.
He can do it in the passing game. You know,
I think that you're worried about some of these tight ends,

(23:51):
and certainly Kamara.

Speaker 2 (23:53):
Well yeah, because it goes back to old school football
when running back were valued unlike today's football, and you
need to have a balance attack and if you get
your run game on track, and Phil, I'm not talking
about six yards of carry. All you need to do
is average two yards to two point five because that's

(24:15):
gonna keep the linebackers honest. And if you keep it up,
the linebackers honest, you know where you going with the
ball down between the hashes, with your tight ends outside
the numbers, clearing it out for your tight ends. Something
we haven't really seen around here for the for the Broncos.
And I'm not saying this because I'm just trying to
hype up the Saints. I'm just trying to tell the

(24:37):
listeners what I've watched on tape, Yeah, what I've seen
on tape, and what the Broncos defensively are gonna have
to stop.

Speaker 1 (24:47):
Do you think the Broncos, I mean, what is it
gonna be, Zach Allen? You think it's going to have
to be the guys on the outside, Jonathan Cooper is
gonna have to get home a couple of times. You
know they're capable of doing this. It's just gonna be
a little bit more of a collective effort. Now without that.

Speaker 3 (25:03):
Well it is, and keep this in mind.

Speaker 2 (25:05):
You look at the fact that Baker was sacked one
time by the Saints, so the Broncos may look at
that and say, well, look, we did a great job
against the Saints. Remember Saints had a lot of offensive
lineman a couple offensive linemen injured in that game. But
Spencer Rallery was sacked five times for twenty one yards.

Speaker 4 (25:27):
So they're gonna have to That should be something.

Speaker 2 (25:29):
That should motivate the Broncos pass rushers say, look, if
we can ice Spencer Rattler, keep him inside the pocket,
we have an opportunity to make some players on the defensive.

Speaker 1 (25:42):
Back end maybe get a couple turnovers. Why not put
Bowen in a good spot. I think that's gonna have
to be just just sort of the recipe here for
the Broncos. Fast out on offense, make sure that you
can kind of get things going, get into a rhythm
a little bit, and then make Spencer Rattler beat you,
make him make some amazing throws. Don't let it be

(26:05):
Camara outside going crazy, and keep everything in front of you.
Don't let these tight ends up the seam. And I
think that the Broncos come home with a win.

Speaker 3 (26:14):
Well, it is a big thing too.

Speaker 2 (26:16):
See tackling it's a massive asset to any defense. It's
a key fundamental to what you do. But there are
a lot of teeth.

Speaker 5 (26:34):
This is the Colorado Bureau of Investigation with an Amber
child abduction alert. We have received this important announcement regarding
an abductive child in Pueblo, Colorado. The Pueblo Police Department
is searching for thirteen year old Sandra Mendoza, last seen
in the vicinity of the twelve hundred block of South
Prairie Avenue at about five ten this evening. Sandra is

(26:58):
described as a Hispanic female, thirteen years old, five feet tall,
one hundred pounds, with black hair and hazel eyes. Sandra
was last seen wearing a black T shirt and blue jeans.
Investigators believe Sandra was taken by an unknown Hispanic male
traveling in a stolen two thousand and five Ford F

(27:19):
two fifty, white in color with a blue camper shell
bearing Colorado license plate BLBC seven eight that Sandra was
last seen in. If you have any information regarding this abduction,
immediately call nine to one one.

Speaker 2 (27:40):
The game that I am anticipating the Broncos winning because
they should win, but it's like tread lightly, don't go
into the Caesar super Dome thinking, Okay, they turn on
the lights is a win. The Saints are gonna lay down. No,
Drew Brees is going into the Ring of Fame. That
means something to them.

Speaker 4 (28:00):
They don't want to lose on Drew Brees' night, No, because.

Speaker 2 (28:02):
They're gonna feel this though they didn't do their job
from a team standpoint, they didn't do their job from
his fans standpoint.

Speaker 1 (28:10):
I do think that they I think Sean is going
to want to go down there and dial it up
and have a great offensive game. He's going to want
to do that, and I think that the Saints are
gonna want to say, hey, we're doing all right without you, coach.
And I do think that both sides there's a little
something extra this game.

Speaker 4 (28:30):
Both sides need a win.

Speaker 3 (28:32):
You know.

Speaker 1 (28:32):
The Broncos after that three game winning streak, we're right
and high tough one last week, they want to bounce back.
The Saints have lost four in a row after starting hot.
Both sides need this one, Nick, and both are playing
with a little something extra with Sean there the Drew
Brees factor.

Speaker 4 (28:50):
I mean, there's a lot riding on this.

Speaker 2 (28:52):
There's a lot on this game because the storylines, the
connect between the two franchises based on some of the
coaches the players, like like Malcolm.

Speaker 3 (29:06):
Roach Right he now plays in the Broncos. Where did
he play before in New Orleans?

Speaker 2 (29:12):
The Jordan Humphrey he was a player who played for
Chemp Payton and New Orleans. So there's a lot of
storylines in this game, and both teams want to get
back on the winning side of things. And for Dennis Allen,
and we talked to Matthew Paris earlier, that was one

(29:32):
of those things where you're saying, Dennis Allen, yeah, he's
on a hot seat. He wants to win this game.
Does it take him off the hot seat? Maybe temporarily,
but it would be great for him and momentum and confidence.
We win on a Thursday night at home and we're
able to beat the Broncos and Sean Payton.

Speaker 4 (29:51):
If if you.

Speaker 1 (29:52):
Don't come away with like I think, the low weekend
after that's a thing too. You don't want to be
sitting around saying, hey we after those three we lost
two in a row, maybe we gotta you know, you
just start doubting yourself maybe a little after losing two
in a row, so like, it's just a hard I mean,
the NFL is such a week to week league. After

(30:13):
a win, you're feeling so great. After a loss, you're
feeling so down. It's just hard to You're gonna have
these ups and downs. You're gonna have ups and downs
with a rookie quarterback. I think that that game last
week against the Chargers made you appreciate how well the
defense had been playing. You know, like against the Raiders,
they get those turnovers that helps you win.

Speaker 4 (30:34):
That game.

Speaker 1 (30:35):
Against the Jets, they hold it Aaron Rodgers and company
to nine points. They held the Buccaneers to seven points.
I mean, you're the defense was a big part of
that winning streak. They didn't get it done last week
after PS two left. I think you're just the there's
a lot riding on this one. I think if you
win this and you feel good about yourself on the road,

(30:56):
I think that that helps you over that weekend.

Speaker 3 (30:59):
Nick.

Speaker 2 (31:00):
I mean, who wants to go on that little short
by after Thursday night game saying that you've lost two
games in a row, knowing that Kansas City and Baltimore
up next.

Speaker 3 (31:11):
Oh boy, and you got the Panthers too as well.

Speaker 1 (31:14):
The Panthers are there, but yeah, you got Baltimore, you
got the Chiefs, you got the Falcons.

Speaker 4 (31:18):
I mean, this is the NFL. You got to make
these runs count.
