Speaker 1 (00:00):
Uh, three eight fives is the guys and texted last night.
I'll say the same thing. Giants will come in. Giants
the leaf look like like garden gnomes. I love. Yeah,
it's uh, it's just it's funny. It's it's uh. It's
amusing to see the stuff that's on social media and
all that kind of social media isn't real. You get
people out there staying all kinds of stuff. I've got

(00:21):
a whole like Dolphins fan base. It's mad at me
now for some Jayala waddle stuff that they you know,
that they took and aggregated to a different quote and
you know and all that. So stuff is what it is.
What usaid, we do an NFL pick them.

Speaker 2 (00:37):
All, right, let's do it.

Speaker 1 (00:38):
Uh, let's go out here and grab this. Sorry, my
screen went funky right as I've tried to do that.
There we go.

Speaker 2 (00:44):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (00:44):
We got an early game Rams Jacks on Sunday. The
La Rams three and a half point favorites over the
Jacksonville Jaguars seven thirty AM on this with the over
under started forty seven and a half down of forty four
and a half. How do we like the Rams? Ands?
I like the Rams in this one.

Speaker 3 (01:02):
No puking the cool but this gives more opportunities for
targets for Devonte Adams who fantasy owners.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
This is a gift in disguise.

Speaker 1 (01:13):
I like the Rams too.

Speaker 4 (01:14):
I think that pass rush can expose the Jags offensive
line some and I like the under two. I think
these international games tend to be sloppy.

Speaker 1 (01:22):
As we just saw last week. I think it's a
yeah potential for a sloppy game. I don't know. Jags
are playing all right, They're playing pretty good football right now.
They're kind of starting to figure it out as they go.
Their defense is generating turnovers and then having all the
offensive pieces that are down for the Rams in this one,
I don't know. I kind of like the Jags at
the plus three and a half. I'm taking the plus
three and a half. I don't know about they win outright.

(01:42):
Raiders at the Chiefs. The Chiefs are the piece favorite
this week, eleven and a half point favorites over the Raiders.
The over under has stayed the same at forty five
and a half. Do the Raiders have a chance against
Kansas City?

Speaker 2 (01:54):
Not a snowball man.

Speaker 3 (01:57):
This is gonna be a game that Obviously, the Chiefs
are going to let's just try to say they're back,
and everyone's gonna claim they're back, put them back on
top of the Mountain Top and Mountain rushmore football.

Speaker 2 (02:10):
But the Chiefs get it done.

Speaker 1 (02:12):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (02:12):
Not only do I think the Chiefs win this game,
then get the job done, I think there's a good
chance they cover. I think this is a game where
they want to kind of reannounce themselves to the NFL
and show we're back. We're back to being an explosive
and deadly offense at that It's been a long time
since the Chiefs really dismantled someone or blew them out,
you know, some garbage time points thrown onto the end

(02:33):
of that Ravens game. But I think this is a
good avenue for them to get that blowout fire.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
And I believe she Rice is making infer between.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
Way back in this one. Yeah, I think Kansas City
gets the victory over the Raiders here at home. I
don't think this is going to be a particularly close win.
Other eleven AM kickoff Miami Dolphins at the Cleveland Browns.
This one's going to have some weather, and if they're
expecting gusts of wins between twenty and forty miles an hour,
with a slight chance that it gets up into fifty
mile an hour range. The current forecast call for ninety

(03:00):
five percent chance of participation and huge wins in this one.
Started off forty three and a half, was the overrunners
all the way down to thirty six. Now the Browns
are favored by two and a half at home. All
the money's coming in on Miami in this one. This
is fascinating.

Speaker 3 (03:14):
Oh, I don't know, Miami is not shown the ability
to win in colder comments. But I'm going to go
surprisingly with the Cleveland Browns because I'm thinking Miles Garrett
is going to have one heck of a game.

Speaker 1 (03:28):
And not to mention this the run game for the
Cleveland Browns.

Speaker 3 (03:32):
That have started to pick up now so much last
week with the week before push.

Speaker 2 (03:36):
On Jenkins was that guy.

Speaker 1 (03:39):
Yeah, I like the Browns too. I think that run game.

Speaker 4 (03:41):
Maybe it's not as good as the Dolphins, but it
can at least challenge it some. And the Browns are
the much better defensive team between these two squads, and
they're playing this game in a win tunnel. I think
it's going to be an all with two kind of
weak armed quarterbacks at that I think this is going
to be an all time slop fest.

Speaker 2 (03:57):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (03:57):
I think it favors the ground attack and I think
that favors colle Lynn. Believe it or not at home
in this one, I like the Browns is to a
half point favorite. Saints are going to Chicago. This one
started off where the Saints where seven and a half
point dogs. They're down to four and a half as
the money continues to roll in on New Orleans who's
been a very competitive football team this year despite the record.
The over understarted forty four and a half has gone

(04:19):
up to forty six and a half. People expecting a
little bit of points in this one.

Speaker 3 (04:22):
Maybe they expecting a points I think is a great idea,
But I don't think it's going to happen that way.
And if the points, they're gonna come by a way
to Chicago Bears. Because watching Ben Johnson and Caleb Williams
finally come together, to me, it's starting to.

Speaker 2 (04:37):
Change the narrative.

Speaker 3 (04:38):
And having that win last week against the Commanders and
Jayden Dames, now their confidence is starting to soar. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (04:45):
I think the Saints actually they've been playing a lot
better than their records.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
They're not a good team by any means.

Speaker 4 (04:50):
But I think they've been a pretty consistent tough out
for the teams they've seen so far. I think they'll
at least manage to keep it close, but I think
the Bear's ultimately get the shop done.

Speaker 1 (05:01):
Eagles traveling to the Vikings here, Eagles start at all
three point favorites. That the Thursday night Tobaco may have
taken some of the luster. They're only one and a
half point favorites now. The over under at forty four
and a half is down to forty three and a half.
It's dropped one point, but a lot of money coming
in on the over on this looks like on the
money line, people love the Eagles, but that's spread. They
kind of favor the Vikings a little bit. Vikings JJ

(05:22):
McCarthy will be the emergency third quarterback in this one,
so probably the last start for Carson Wentz against his
former team.

Speaker 3 (05:27):
I think this is going to be a tight game,
but I still give the edge to the Eagles, solely
because of Aj Brown.

Speaker 2 (05:34):
The more on potant.

Speaker 3 (05:35):
This is an excellent opportunity to get sa Kuon Barkley
back on the Stark shucks and for.

Speaker 2 (05:41):
Me, they're gonna be able to get it done.

Speaker 3 (05:42):
It's gonna be really tough because Brian Flores then his
defense can make it really different for you.

Speaker 4 (05:48):
I think the Eagles might have a get right game
right here. This Vikings team hasn't been as impressive as
they were the last two years, and including on their defense,
and I think Carson Wentz is due for a an
ugly performance. He hasn't been good so far for the Vikings,
but he also hasn't been disastrous. I think this might
be one where against a pretty smart and talented Fangio defense,

(06:09):
we have some some turnovers.

Speaker 1 (06:11):
Yeah, I could see that too. He's two different style
defensive coordinators, but both bright defensive minds god head with
each other. Panthers at the New York Jets, this might
be the best chance for the Jets to be got
to win a whole year. This line started off where
the Panthers were one and a half point dogs. Now
they're half point favorite. As this line continues to move

(06:32):
all over the place, over hunders come down to forty
one and a half in this and most of the
bets here are on the under. The Panthers. They have
been hit or missed. It's a one game. They're on
one game. They're not kind of like the Panthers in
this one, even on the road, as they're the clearly
better offense.

Speaker 2 (06:46):
Yeah, I liked the Panthers in this one.

Speaker 3 (06:49):
Wasn't more important because it was justin field throwing too.
Against the Denver Broncos. He had one wide receiver. They
try to feature him, but even that didn't work. I mean,
you look at the Panthers. I mean they've beaten the
fouls and then they've also beat Dak Prescott and the Cowboys.
I know that may not be something that changed their
hearts and minds of so many people. So when you
able to book wins like that, that says a lot.

(07:11):
And I'm happy for Dave danelas but also happy for
Bryce Young as well.

Speaker 1 (07:15):
I think this will be a game where both sides.
Running backs go absolutely wild.

Speaker 4 (07:19):
Not good run defenses in this game on either side,
and Rico Daudau's red hot right now, I think the
Panthers were all I kind of do too.

Speaker 1 (07:28):
Patriots Titans Mike Rabel going back for the team that
fired him to hire Brian Kelly and who they just fired.
They're only six and a half point favorites in this
with the Patriots against the Titans, But it looks like
everybody's on the Patriots in this one. The over under
started forty four and a half down to forty two
and a half.

Speaker 3 (07:46):
Well, the Titans in of every tough spot. I mean,
they just lost their captain, the leader, the head coach.
Now they're ruling right now. They're trying to find any
way to get something.

Speaker 2 (07:55):
Positive, make something positive out it. But now you're planning
against Mike Rabel. You know was going to one a
truer play.

Speaker 1 (08:01):
Hey, you fired the guy you know after you hired.

Speaker 3 (08:04):
If you fire the guy that you hired after me,
I want to make sure I go in and punch
a hole through this whole thing and just rip the
organization apart.

Speaker 2 (08:12):
And he's gonna definitely do that.

Speaker 3 (08:13):
Because Drake May is playing phenomenal football right now.

Speaker 4 (08:17):
I'm run with the Patriots in this one for that reason.
Mays look amazing. But I think this is a bit
of a trap game for the Patriots and I coach. Yeah,
interim coaches give their teams that bit of a bump
that first week they're five hundred in that debut game
since twenty eighteen, despite taking over some pretty moribund teams
most of the time. Mike McCoy also like, he's not

(08:38):
a great head coach, but I think he'll clean up
the game day operation a lot from where it was
at with Brian Callian, and maybe these guys surprising get
a win.

Speaker 1 (08:48):
Yeah, probably what I think will be the game of
the week. Colts Chargers. Coults are traveling two of the
Chargers at this one, Chargers one and a half point
favorites at home. A lot of the money and bets
coming in on the Colts in this one. The over
under started at forty fives out to about forty eight
and a half now, so people expecting big time scoring
in this one. What do we think about the Colts
and the Chargers the two teams to beat the Broncos.

Speaker 3 (09:10):
Listen, I'm gonna lean on the Coasts because, guess what,
they have great quarterback play, they don't have a lot
of injuries.

Speaker 2 (09:17):
Most importantly, they have freaking John and Taylor.

Speaker 3 (09:20):
Well you look on the Chargers side, I mean two
of their running backs are not even playing, So that's
gonna put a lot of pressure on Justin Herbert to
drop back and throw a lot of balls now in
the field. But now that plays to the coast passer,
So Coats win this one.

Speaker 4 (09:33):
Yeah, this Chargers defense hasn't been as great with some
of the injuries they've suffered, and this Colts offense is
so talented. I think they're going to get theirs. Meanwhile,
it similarly beat up Chargers offense. I don't think they'll
be able to hang with how many points the Colts
will manage to put up. I've got the Colts in
this one.

Speaker 1 (09:50):
Giants at the Broncos, we'll come back to that one.
Packers Cardinals. This figures to be a good game as well.
The Cardinal's been reeling with a bunch of really close
losses back to back to back to back. They've got
to figure something out as their season is Carena. The
Packers coming to town on this one pretty hot football team.
What do we think about Packers Cardinals?

Speaker 3 (10:10):
The card is kind of a chaotic, especially after that
situation with their coach about a week ago. But I've
been really impressed with Jordan Love, even though I know
Ben doesn't like anything about Love, but Jordan Love has
been impressive Now, the one thing about it, you would
want him to score more points, but he has been
efficient and that's all you can ask for.

Speaker 2 (10:29):
So the Packers win this one.

Speaker 4 (10:31):
Yeah, I think the Packers are just a few tiers
above the Cardinals in a lot of different respects in
this one. I trust the quarterback more, I trust the
coach more. I think their roster's overall more talented. I
think the Packers rolling this one, and the Cardinals are
going to put themselves in a pretty big holder dig.

Speaker 1 (10:45):
Out of I don't know, man, Cardinals are plus six
and a half in this one. I don't know, though,
I think that they did. They've been close, and this
is the moment where their backs against the wall. We'll see,
We'll see how that shakes up Commanders at the Cowboys.
A little bit of a division rivalry there. Commanders are
getting a point and a half here. A lot of
the lot of the bets and money are on Dallas here.

(11:06):
Over run started forty nine is out to fifty four
and a half. They are expecting an offensive explosion against
two teams that haven't shown much defense at all this year.

Speaker 3 (11:15):
Yeah, He's going to be just that offensive explosion. And
I mean Jane Dams and the Commanders. They just loss
a game that they felt that they had so control
over against the Chicago Bears. And like you said, the
Cowboys haven't really played well defensively.

Speaker 2 (11:33):
But here's the thing.

Speaker 3 (11:35):
I believe Ceedee Lamb will be coming back this week,
so that should be a problem for Jane Dames.

Speaker 2 (11:40):
So I'm gonna go with the Cowboy.

Speaker 1 (11:43):
A rare disagreement for us here. I'm the Cowboy.

Speaker 4 (11:46):
I'm one with the Commanders here. I think both offenses
can get theirs. I think this is going to be
a pretty pivotal matchup in the NFC, as both these
teams are fighting for the division, maybe a wild card spot,
both hovering around five hundred right now. I just think
the Commander's defense can get a stop here and there,
and I just don't think the Dallas Cowboys defense can.

Speaker 1 (12:06):
Yeah, that's I think where we're out on this one.
This is just I mean, it's in Dallas, but I
don't trust Dallas. The offense is good, the defense is horrendous.
Falcons at forty nine ers, I could suddenly get in
a little traction, getting a little steam. This one wasn't
interesting though. Started off plus six and a half. It's
aid plus one and a half. But you get a
lot of bets and a lot of money on the

(12:26):
Falcons on this one, even though the Niners are at
home started off forty seven and a half, state of
forty seven a half for the over under people expecting
the under. Here is most of the bets and money
on the under.

Speaker 3 (12:34):
Well, mag Jones continues to prove that there.

Speaker 2 (12:38):
Is life when you go to San Francisco.

Speaker 3 (12:41):
I don't think Brad Perdy is going to play in
this game, and Kyle Shanahan has constantly proved that he
can scheme with anyone at the quarterback position and they
still gonna win games even though their rosters beat up.

Speaker 1 (12:54):
And I'm going to go with the forty nine ers
on this one.

Speaker 3 (12:56):
I think they're going to kind of dismantle and bring
Penis in the Falcons back down Earth.

Speaker 4 (13:03):
I feel like the forty nine ers have just been
getting away with it for a while with how beat
up they are. This Falcons team is pretty darn good.
I think you know they're a remarkable comeback from Baker
Mayfield and the Bucks away from us talking about them,
maybe as the surprise story in the NFC instead of
Tampa Bay. Their defense is maybe the surprise story of

(13:25):
the season so far, and their offense is living up
to all the talent they've invested into it. I think
the Falcons assert themselves as one of the NFC's powers.

Speaker 1 (13:35):
With a win, I'll be interesting. The Sunday Night Football Monday
Night Football Bucks Lions. Bucks started off three and a
half point dogs are to five and a half point
dogs going in the other direction from what you think
on this when the Lions continue to get better on
the line, however, the public and the money or on
the Bucks, and this would over understart forty nine and
a half. At forty two and a half. Now on
the money line, people are on the Lions, but with
that five and a half, they're on the Bucks. I

(13:56):
like Tampa even on the road on Monday Night football.

Speaker 3 (13:58):
I like Tampa on the road because Baker Mayfield is
having the MVP season, and as long as your quarterback
is playing lights out, you're in every single game.

Speaker 2 (14:08):
He's playing lights out.

Speaker 4 (14:09):
The defense is pretty good and they're only getting better
as a lot of their best players now return from injury.
The version of the Bucks we've seen so far this
season which was a very good team, was also a
very injured team.

Speaker 1 (14:21):
Yeah, we got one other that's the early Monday night game.
By the way, we got one other Monday night game,
Texans at Seahawks. Texans are getting three in this one.
The public in the bettings a little bit on the
the Seahawks side of things. Over understarted forty four and
a half down to forty one. Looks like a lot
of people are on the over on this one. I
like the Seahawks at home. Man, I underestimated them coming
into the season. They are playing real well. And Sam

(14:43):
Donald is not having a super regression year.

Speaker 2 (14:46):
No, he's not.

Speaker 3 (14:46):
And considering the fact that playing this Texans offense, it's
somewhat of a version of what klant Koviak knows himself.

Speaker 2 (14:54):
And like you said, Sam Donald was playing great.

Speaker 3 (14:57):
Who would have thought that this was a guy who
was considered a couple of years ago as being a
toss away quarterback. But revitalization in San Francisco, Minnesota.

Speaker 2 (15:06):
Would do a body good.

Speaker 4 (15:07):
Yeah, this might be some super progression from Sam drobery
because I think he's even better this year than he
was last year. He might actually be in the MVP
conversation I think both these teams have elite defenses. I
think only one of them has an above average offense,
and the Seahawks offense is one of the best in
the league.

Speaker 1 (15:22):
Give me Seattle, love it. Broncos Giants come all the
way back to it. The Broncos are getting seven and
a half or giving seven and a half now at
this point, looks like seventy percent of money on the
Giants with that. With that number, the over understarted forty
two and a half has falling to forty and a
half on the money line, eighty one percent of bets
around the Broncos to win. Out right, I'm taking the

(15:44):
Broncos man.

Speaker 3 (15:45):
Too much energy, too many things happening on Sunday. And
then more importantly, you got my guy for defense that
will solve any problem that the Broncos offense may present
to him.

Speaker 2 (15:55):
So Broncos win.

Speaker 4 (15:57):
Yeah, there's no way the Broncos overlook this one now.
I also think this is a rough matchup for the Giants.
Jackson Darts really struggled in his one road game so far,
and it was against a rough Saints defense. This Broncos
defense is going to be able to really really challenge them.

Speaker 2 (16:11):
And I think this offense is due for a get.

Speaker 4 (16:13):
Right game themselves against a pretty shaky back seven and
a bottom three run defense that the Giants post.

Speaker 1 (16:20):
Give me the Broncos to win and cover.

Speaker 2 (16:23):
Love it.

Speaker 1 (16:23):
That has been your NFL pick them. We got to
hit a break. We'll be back after this.

Speaker 5 (16:33):
Had a lot of stuff to get to before this
this this game on Sunday, I want to get some
of these matchups to watch on offense and defense, because.

Speaker 1 (16:45):
You know, the Giants offense a little short handed. Everybody's
talking about this offense. Everybody's talking about Jackson Dart Camp Scattabo,
but they're a little short handed on offense, especially at
the receiver position and tight end position where they want
to manufacture all a lot of their productivity.

Speaker 4 (17:01):
They're having to lean really hard on Lil Joor and
Humphrey right now. And I think that in itself speaks volumes.

Speaker 3 (17:06):
Well, how much is that going to really really help them?
And I would say not too much. And usually you
lean on the idea that maybe a guy, because he
played with the team, he's gonna want out and want
to come back and have a great game against the
Denver Broncos. Well, Let's not forget what type of production,
but Joean Humphrey actually provided here. When he was a
member of the Denver Broncos, there were certain situations they

(17:29):
try to use him as a receiver because of his
larger body size to insertain linebackers and dig out you know,
safeties that didn't work too well. So Brian Dableman, if
they are somehow able to pull out an upset, it's
going to be because they found, I guess, a wild
way to generate some type of offensive production.

Speaker 1 (17:50):
On the Broncos side of things, we do have some
things that we can kind of dictate some mismatches to
and one of them is our actual joker. Nate Adkins
and coach Dave Logan set with coach Sean Dayton. They
got to do the coach's corner diagramming up the fake screen.
Nate Adkins touchdown play.

Speaker 6 (18:07):
Bow doesn't have to take the snap here. Let's see
he does last play of the half pumps. It throws
the ball wide open inside to five touchdown Denver.

Speaker 1 (18:16):
That is Nate Atkins. There's a second play after they've
run the bubble screen.

Speaker 6 (18:21):
They pumped the screen and got Atkins slipping by the
corner a touchdown completion of sixteen yards to date Atkins.
So Sean, this was a big play obviously in the
game in London, occurred in the first half, and I
thought the design of the play was worth going back
and sort of talking about.

Speaker 7 (18:37):
Yeah, every once in a while, you have one of
those plays that you're like, I get to the stadium earlierly.
In this play, creep is set up off of a
zone read bubble that we do a lot of, and
we throw the ball to mims a number of times.
So if you scouted us over and over again, and

(18:58):
what we did a little differently is we sent it
out and went right to the line of scrimmage, so
there was no huddle. So it felt very normal. But
on the call sheet, I think it was a yellow
highlighter around it. There was black sharpie marks circling it
like it was the first opportunity and it had to
be on first to second down, it had to be,

(19:21):
you know, inside that twenty and it was a two
way call. So on the other hash we'd have just
flipped it. But it was creep and so but you know,
I'm sending it in bow. Hey, it's creep. Creep and
we're on the left hash yep. And and from a
timing standpoint, you know, you watch Nate's a savvy player,
and so he just has a good feel and you

(19:43):
see him setting up that bubble block and then just
kind of release, and what he's done is he's allowed
the outside receiver to take two.

Speaker 1 (19:51):
If he's too.

Speaker 7 (19:52):
Fast, that corner can fall back on it.

Speaker 1 (19:54):
And or if maybe if he's too steep to the post.

Speaker 7 (19:57):
Absolutely the corner falls absolutely absolutely, So we're really looking
to take two. And then it's all about the timing
and then the cell with mems, the fake it's it's
really feeding them something they've seen and then it's something different.

Speaker 6 (20:12):
I think also the fact that it's Atkins, who you know,
if it's maybe it's a wide receiver different, but here's
the guy that is a really good blocker, is it. Yeah,
he's not going to finish the season with fourteen touchdowns
exactly right, But yet he did you know that was
an important play. He's he's got really good instincts with
stuff like that. And yeah, I think look at on
the sideline.

Speaker 7 (20:33):
A bunch of our practice squad players were saying, look
the practice squad look wasn't that clean, you know?

Speaker 2 (20:39):
In other words, they it.

Speaker 1 (20:40):
Was hard to draw a card that was that that open?

Speaker 6 (20:43):
Yeah, and you don't see a play that open in
the NFL too many, No, And as the coaches.

Speaker 7 (20:49):
You know, when I go look at the touchdown reel
each week Monday, after watching our tape, doing our meetings,
look at the past week's touchdowns, and usually you could
say it was the play or it was the player.
And there's a ton of plays where great athletes are making.
Then every once in a while you see a design
and you thought, man, that was the play. So that
would be one of those where you know, as coaches

(21:11):
were trying to find ways to get players that open,
and it's challenging, and yet you know, Nate did a
great job with it.

Speaker 6 (21:18):
Sure did.

Speaker 2 (21:19):
Sean, thanks you for much time day.

Speaker 1 (21:20):
Thank you coaches. Going on, we get to that every
Friday and then whip we played again Sunday morning. If
you missed any part of that, Sean Payton sits down
with David. We're going to get the diagram up a
play from the last week, and we get a little
insider access there. I felt for a minute there though,
like Will Ferrell from the other guys, maybe Sean Payton
was was Michael Keaton. We he kept talking about the

(21:43):
TLC references. You know, we could call the creep creep.
I was like, if he was about to tell Atkinson
not chase waterfalls.

Speaker 3 (21:51):
Hey, listen, creeps or creeps, whatever you want to refer
to it. As this is where I look and say,
play call in an execution are married and they go
hand in hand. And it's interesting that we are highlighting
this play because you can find it at Nick Ferguson
Underscored twenty five. I took the pleasure of taking this

(22:13):
particular play and breaking it down even further, and Coach
was right. What they did was they set up the
play by using Marvin Mims, using him earlier in the
game and earlier in the down as a kind of
a pawn in the backfield, if you will. And we
all knew because we always see Marvin Mems in the

(22:33):
backfield and it draws the eyes of the defense. And
for me, the bad part of it defensively was how
the Jets actually played that play, because when Mems came
in motion, they slid across, but the linebacker closest to
Nate Atkins, he forgot to look at Nate because his

(22:54):
eyes were drawn to Marvin Mims. And the design was
great because calling to two guys, he took sauce on
the and the safety and it was an easy touchdown.
This is the kind of evolution and building on plays
that you run that may be mildly successful.

Speaker 2 (23:11):
But not successful at all.

Speaker 3 (23:13):
This is what I'd like to see more of this
offense try to do well.

Speaker 1 (23:17):
And it was great to see them build off all
those little screen you know, the screen looks that they've
given and build something, you know off that. And so
now you've got teams thinking about that a little bit.
Maybe they'll back them off and maybe make that screenplay
that they love to run. Uh, maybe they'll make the
actual screenplay more effective, you know something in reverse after
you put a you know, put a fake and put
the touchdown in there on that and you get teams

(23:38):
potentially backing off a little bit on it. I don't know.
I just like that play has not where our screens
feel weird to me, Like I watched you watched a
Falcons game from last week, right, Yeah, they were hit
every screen in the house, like they and it's mostly
in breaking back toward the quarterback type screens instead of
the outbreaking, breaking away from the quarterback type screens which
we tend to run. And maybe that's the problem. I

(23:58):
don't know, but it just seems to me like everybody's
more effective with their screen games than we are, and
I'm not sure why that is.

Speaker 3 (24:04):
Well, the idea was that the Broncos was said to
be one of the better teams at play calling and
executing the screen game, and you act absolutely right being
because in order for you to be successful on the
screen game, there's a lot of elements that come in
into the play.

Speaker 2 (24:21):
To me, how well did you set it up previously?

Speaker 3 (24:23):
How well can your offensive line sell that screen? And
then also too, can your perimeter players, your tight ends,
your wide receiver, your slid receivers.

Speaker 2 (24:33):
Can they set it up? Can they blot on the perimeter?

Speaker 3 (24:36):
Those things are definitely key because the Broncos ran one
with Marvin Mimms.

Speaker 2 (24:41):
But the issue with it that.

Speaker 3 (24:43):
I have defensively because you use Marvin Mamms a lot
in that situation, so to make him come in motion
and to throw the ball to him once again, you're
taking the defense to them, which is why the play
worked with Then they act touchdown. But once again, if
the guy in the back end play well, any defense
facing the differ Broncos will be able to stop their

(25:05):
screen games. To me, they need to mix it up
a little bit or be a little more creative with
the play design and how to execute.

Speaker 1 (25:13):
Yeah, I take no agrees. We're looking going back to
the original premise of the segment. We're talking about matchups
the Giants. Where do they win in this one because
it doesn't feel like there are a lot of wins
on the Giants offense against the Broncos defense. It just
doesn't feel like there are wins here. Well, okay, so
the wins, as minor as they are, they.

Speaker 3 (25:33):
Can potentially set up other plays down the field because
here's what you know. You have a physical running back
in camps kind of ball, right. You have a guy
in Jackson Dart who's young, who doesn't know that he's
not supposed to know. I like him because he's that
dog type of player. He's going to take those shots.
But that's the issue taking shots. He's going to have

(25:53):
to protect himself. So you can use RPOs to kind
of get the Broncos defense bite on those particular plays
and If Tyrone Tracy plays in this game, it's gonna
change a lot because the issue that the Broncos have had,
even going back to the Coast game, covering running backs

(26:14):
out of the backfield. There's a way that you can
manufacture pick routes, almost like in basketball. If you trap
Alex ingins An inside and he can't get outside that
railroad to that wide receivers money every single time.

Speaker 1 (26:27):
Yeah, I we're looking at this and Tyrone Tracy is
supposed to play in this one. I wonder if we're
gonna see some like gun two back type stuff right
because they're short on receivers right now. I wonder if
we're going to see some gun two back type stuff
that gives them an option to hand off as well
as a back like scatterba hitting the in the flats
or hitting the angle routes out of the backfield to
give them options with this kind of stuff, this is

(26:49):
you know you're gonna have to be creative here. You've
got Theo Johnson and Daniel Bellinger and Chris Mannards who
I think we're familiar with as as tight ends. None
of those guys scares you athletically, man, it's a bit
of a blocker John in a couple touchdowns in that
one game, but they really haven't done much since.

Speaker 3 (27:02):
Okay, even though Chris Manors doesn't scale you from a
vertical passing threat, he mentioned something that's real, right or important,
the blocking aspect. So if the Giants are able to
capture the edges, Now what that means is.

Speaker 1 (27:20):
That you're making this game or you're playing this game.

Speaker 3 (27:24):
In the phone board, your receivers, you ask them, hey,
just can you block and hang on for a couple
of seconds one thousand, two thousand and three, one thousand.
Now we get Cam Scatterboat, maybe on a corner, maybe
we get him on the safety. And from the Giants standpoint,
they liked that match up because I can tell you,
as a safety, you don't want too many of those

(27:44):
downhill runs. As a guy that played in the game
where I had like sixteen tackles and thirteen of them
were solo, you don't want that.

Speaker 2 (27:54):
Right.

Speaker 3 (27:55):
That's a game where I turned over the Gatoray table
because I was frustrated.

Speaker 2 (28:00):
Man, you have eleven guys in front of me.

Speaker 3 (28:01):
Someone helped me out that run it back should not
get that deep in the secondary.

Speaker 2 (28:06):
So if the Giants are able to turn this into
a nine to seven game.

Speaker 3 (28:10):
I mean, to me, it's going to shorten the game,
but it may play heavily in the favor of the
Giants because now you're talking about time.

Speaker 2 (28:18):
Eating up the clock.

Speaker 1 (28:19):
Matters does have to catch this year. He did catch
one for seven yards. They yeah, they do. They use him.
Actually he's played in all six games, most of those
special teams. But you know, and then you look at
the other tight ends, Bellager and Theo Johnson. Johnson is
the third leading receiver in this game. I mean, Neighbors
is out. So Wandell Robinson, Scatiball and Theo Johnson are
the three biggest receivers, the three most targeted and most

(28:42):
receptions receivers that they have in that offense.

Speaker 3 (28:44):
So if you are vance Joseph, because we've seen Vans
throw a different variety of defensive schemes at their opponents,
and knowing as though right now the Giants don't really
have wide receivers.

Speaker 2 (28:57):
That you would say, oh wow, that guy scares me.
Do you run more zone or you run more men
in this game? Do you think, well, these two both.

Speaker 1 (29:05):
These two defenses are the top two man defenses by
percentage in the in the NFL. Both these guys run
more man than anybody else over forty percent, even more
than Vikings. You know, if you're vance, I think you
might throw a look in here or there. You want
to confuse Jackson Dardlar, I might throw some zone at
him early, just to sort of throw him off with
some of these pressure packages. I want to dial up late,

(29:27):
but I mean, I don't know. I wouldn't get too
far away from what it is that we do, right
which is get down. He'll get after the quarterback. Let
uh Litponito and Coop come off the edge and you know,
and have a meet at the quarterback party.

Speaker 3 (29:39):
You know what, watching his Broncos defense, it looked vaguely
similar to me and things that we've run in the past.
And what I mean by that when Larry Corrier was
our defensive coordinated we played against Philly. That's kind of
where where it started for us, where we got into
a lot of blicks packages where we showed that we're
going to run blitz. We were running three times in
a row to kind of get down to McNab just

(30:01):
thinking about the blitz, and they will show that same
concept and bail out. I've seen a lot of kind
of renkals of the Broncos actually doing that. So if
you want to start off the game, you can start
off the game that way, because now you kind of
blur the lines of protection up front with the Giants
offensive line.

Speaker 2 (30:21):
Now you're factoring crowd noise, so now you have to.

Speaker 3 (30:24):
Figure out where the blitz is coming from, and it's
hard to hear at the same time, and just like
our staples to say, well, the Giants have another center
in the game.

Speaker 2 (30:34):
So if you can impact.

Speaker 3 (30:35):
The quarterback center exchange and they not know exactly they being,
I guess you know Jackson Dart where the pressure is
coming from, maybe you can force him into some air thrones.

Speaker 1 (30:47):
Yeah, and I think that's that's the thing. You want
to confuse a young rookie that does maybe doesn't have
as much it doesn't have as many snaps, doesn't have
as good a grasp as you know, I've seen everything.
I kind of know what they're doing here. Keep mixing
it up, give them, give them funny looks, and then
come at them, or bail out, you know, look like
you're overloading, then bail out and try to pick him off.
Dark did throw some some interceptions. He threw what two

(31:08):
of them? I think against New Orleans. You can paid
him into some of that stuff. So I'll be interested
to see how much they hide him early on and
how much they try to easy button him with the
tight ends of the running backs versus you know, Vance
playing his side of the chest match and try to
bait him in the turnover which the broncoes and not
generate that many turnovers.

Speaker 3 (31:25):
So well, here's what I figured that Brian David was
gonna do you plan on a row hostle environment. Obviously
there's gonna be a lot of energy in the stadium
on Sunday for the obvious reason to me, you want
to take the air out of the crowd. The way
that you do that, I start running the ball and
stinking to the ball regardless of what happens, because now
that opens up play action because all it takes is
a couple of explosive runs. And when I'm talking about explosive,

(31:47):
that's only six yards. Yeah by Cam's gottabu And it's
gonna change the hearts and minds of a lot of
defensive players.

Speaker 1 (31:52):
Yeah, it's gonna be interesting. And then of course, it's
kind of trending toward Drake Greenlaw got to be back
this week, so that's going to be a fascinating situation
shed and set up as well. We'll get into more
of that we come back. Broncos Country Night on Kiawa
