Well, let's start with Peyton versus Wilson, because that's always
the most exciting thing. I mean, basically, you know, I
think Sean Payton handled it well today and kind of
talking about it saying that he's just talking about Jackson Dart.
I mean, he obviously doesn't like Russell Wilson, we know that.

But I think in kind of his rambling quotes the
other day, he probably actually was, you know, more complimenting
Jackson Dart.

Speaker 1 (02:21):
Probably, I mean, you know, that's that's the thing.

Speaker 5 (02:24):
I think.

Speaker 2 (02:24):
The thing is just like Sean just doesn't get the
benefit of the doubt because there's been snide comments before.
He probably was just complimenting Dart. But you know, everybody,
it's interesting how everybody instantly jumped to the assumption because
well it's Sean Payton. As far as that kind of
stuff goes Dray green Law, there's no excuse for running
after referee. There's just none. There's just not one. And
we've got to have better discipline and better control of ourselves.

We could have really used him in this coming game.

Speaker 6 (02:50):
Yeah, I don't. I can't recall ever seen anybody run
after referee after they won the game. I mean, that's
the crazy thing about it. You know, there's all kinds
of stories and what have you. Although I'll have to
check and see when Bobby Knight threw the chair here ago,
I'll have to find out, you know, if the Indiana
won or lost that game. But maybe aside for mister Knight,

you usually don't see players after a victory semi assaulting
the officials.

So, Chris, with the Cowboys coming in on Sunday and
we know that their defense can't really stop and thoseby,
what are you predicting that the Broncos offense after having
that explosive fourth quarter will do against the Cowboys defense.

Speaker 6 (03:39):
Well, you know they don't have the greatest defense at all,
So I would I wouldn't be surprised if the Broncos,
you know, have a decent offensive showing on Sunday and
that we have a shootout. I haven't seen what the
over under is, but whatever it is.

I'll take the over.

Speaker 6 (03:57):
I mean, we did just have sixty five points scored
total the other day, and well the Broncos is you
will now have a top notch defense. The Cowboys have been.

Speaker 5 (04:07):
Rolling it up.

Yeah, I think it's gonna be a high scoring affair.

Speaker 2 (04:11):
Do you think that the Broncos can get the offense
on track? I mean, this defense, this Dallas defense is
pretty bad. The running joke is is that the Cowboys
have the top offense in the league and the number
two offenses, who's ever playing Dallas that week. We've got
to get this offense going earlier in games. And Shawn
stress that you know at the podium today, But have
we seen any signs that's that's eminent even against this

bad defense?

Speaker 6 (04:35):
Well, you know, I mean they did score thirty three
points in the last quarter, which is a mystifying since
a shout out for the first three quarters, and then
before that they start out fast against the Jets ten
points in the first quarter, and then they three the
rest of the game. So it's kind of like, I mean,
I wrote last week about wait, what's going on here?

They talk about starting faster and now they're not ending fast.
So it's just general inconsistency. I mean, that's been the
issue all season, and it was an issue last year
as well at times. I mean, you have these owls
where you're wondering what's going on with the Broncos offense.

But you know, usually with maybe the except well even
Jets game. I mean bo Nicks let him down the
field for that shield goal with five some minutes to go,
So I mean, you know, you can look at the nagget,
but the positive is you know, Nicks, even in his
first couple of games last year when he was a rookie.

Still finding his way.

I mean, when the offense is doing nothing, he finds
a way to fight his way back at the end.

So the positive would.

Be that they're always fighting and coming back usually regarded
for the score.

Chris, you know, watching the game in that fourth quarter,
I mean, it was fantastic for those who's and watch
and I can't help but to notice that there was
a difference between the first three quarters and the last
six minutes in the fourth quarter, and what I'm talking
about is there was tempo. There was a lot of
pace to the game, and Mike mcglinchy and bot Nick's

both said that, hey, when they went.

To up tempo, it changed. So what's the.

Over under, not even moving forward in the season, but
the over under on Sunday's game that we're going to
get some up tempo calls from coach Payton.

Well, I mean, I won't give you an exact number,
but I would hope for Peyton's sake, especially if it
is a shootout, that there's more up tempo. It was
kind of interesting that even heading in till last Sundays.
Bo Nicks a week ago Wednesday was talking about, you know,
how much he likes going up tempo and how much
it helps them. So you would have thought Peyton was

listening to his quarterback maybe a little bit more until.

It got to be desperation time.

Talking with Chris Thomason from the Gazette, as we look
through this season through the first third, is this about
where you thought the Broncos would be?

Yeah?

I think so.

I mean, I'll bring this up. I don't know if
you guys pay I covered the Minnesota Nikings in twenty
twenty two and they had this crazy season where they
went eleven to zero in one score games and they
just were winning all kinds of games in in probable manners.
I mean, they set the all time record that year
and coming back from thirty three to nothing to beat

the Colts, although the Broncos you know, did lose the
last ditch games to the Colts and to the Chargers.
But still, I'm kind of in this vibe of this
team that they're always going to win these crazy or
most often going to win these crazy games. I mean,
Peyton said today every game is weird, which pretty much

has been right this season.

So we look at.

The Hall of Fame and the list came out and
I see that there are three former Broncos coaches on there,
Alex Gibbs, Dan Reeves and my coach, Mike Shanahan. And
for a number of years we've seen all three of
these coaches, maybe not maybe Alex Gibbs, but Reeves and
Shanahan for sure not get in. Is if you had

to take a guess of the three coaches, who do
you think finally gets their day in the sun.

Well, Shanan is going to get in on equivoc It's
probably not going to be this year. He caught a
tough break last year. I thought he should have been
the last year over Holmgren, who he beat, of course
in a Super Bowl, and Holmgren didn't even get the
eighty percent to get into the Hall of Fame. And
now what happens now is Bill Belichick becomes eligible. So

it would seem absurd that he gets passed over this year.
It would seem to be a brainer. Although I was
actually speaking to All Shame selector today and I said, well,
you think that Cans people might vote against Belichick and
speak so he still coach college, he's not retired, he
might come back to the All so you know that's

a possibility. But the rules have changed crazily. I mean,
there's going to be finalists, So won't find out in
Dember the one finals. I mean I did, it will
be about Jack and then I'll have to get eighty
percent of them to get it. But if some Shanahan.

I think he will definitely take the next up.

Well, Chris, with that being said, honestly, do you think
that there is some kind of Denver Broncos bias not
just against coach Shanahan, but against anyone who played for
the Denver Broncos because Ron Smith was snubbed as well.

Speaker 6 (10:08):
Yeah, I don't know about that. I'll just talk about
the coaches situation. I mean, there's a real log jam
there and you need to settle this and get some
more coaches into Hall of Fame. I mean, Holme Grin,
you know, probably is event worthy of being a Hall
of Famer. Tom Coughlin as two Super Bowls. Like Shanahan,

he's not in I mean, Pete Apparallelly, well, he's coaching now,
so he's not a candidate, but he's a candidate for
the future.

And you know, Dan.

Reeves is still alive. But I think, you know, going
oh and three in Super Bowls the way he did
going to be real tough for him to get him.

Talking with Chris Thomason from the Denver is that, Chris,
you know, I've been reporting that I don't think the
Broncos are going to be much buyers at the deadline.
Sean Payton kind of confirmed that today, although said he
had his eye on a few things possibly, I guess
maybe that left guard thing. If Al pal Uh, you know,
doesn't put the keep putting together games like he did.
Is there any other position out there you could see
possibly the Broncos being buyers at.

Yeah, I mean I think really it would be the
offensive line, if at all.

Speaker 5 (11:12):
I mean, the defense looks.

Speaker 6 (11:15):
Pretty strong there and you know, I don't know if
they necessarily need any depths at tight end. Lucas Crawl
is probably going to be back fairly soon, you know, from.

His foot injury, which wasn't too serious, but.

Speaker 6 (11:30):
I think, yeah, it's going to come down to depth
on the offensive line. I mean, ben Powers, they're hoping
to get him back in December, so if that's accurate,
that will certainly help the cause. Matt Kert not sure
how long he's going to be out, but I don't
think it's a season ending type injury. So yeah, Peyton
gave a game ball today, he said Alex Malchowski for

how well he played at left guard, and if he
can be steadying influence the next two games at left guard,
that's going to certainly decrease the chances they'll make the deal.

Are we looking at the best pass rushing duo potentially
with Nick Benito and Jonathan Cooper? Is that where we're
looking as the season starts to progress, Chris, Yeah.

I think so.

I mean, those guys have been just tremendous, have been
a double tear on, you know, both sides, and yeah,
I mean I can't think of a better pass rushing
duo than those two guys in the NFL. And then
the crazy thing is they don't lose a tremendous amount

when they're not in.

I mean, Jonah.

Speaker 6 (12:44):
Ellis, he's missed the last two games with the shoulder injury,
but he is a formidable reserve and Dendre Tillman is solid.
I mean, they just have absolute tremendous depths at that position.
And just look at the defense. I mean, I think
it's up to fifteen different guys. I've had a sack

stat this year, so teams are paying a lot of
attention to those guys in the outside.

But guys are coming.

From everywhere this season to get sacked.

As we were in year two of the Sean Payton
bo Nick's you know marriage, there has there has been
a bit of I don't want to call it regression,
but there's been some growing pains here in year two
to about week five, weeks six, weeks seven.

Form both really takeoff last year.

Are we expecting that sort of jump again this year,
even with perhaps a tougher schedule down the stretch than
we had last year.

do during the offseason except sitting their offices and watch film.
And all the AFC West coaches as well as others,
are sitting and watching film after film on Bonex, So
certainly you get to know his tendencies a bit better.

his home. Starting safety Donovan Wilson was the only other

the first time Rogers has played his former team Green
Bit Packers, but first time Jordan Love has played his mentor.

definitely difficult understanding who you're taking over for. The main
thing for me was just trying to block all that out,
understand that this is a great opportunity for something I've
been waiting for for three years. Watching him, I knew

Aaron Rodgers and the you know me, me me thing
about it, But here he is continuing to mentor a
guy that's that took his place in Green Bay.

goes counter to what people have said publicly about the

and meetings and get fined. Rogers didn't want Love to
repeat his early career silence, so what started as a
