Speaker 1 (00:00):
Dever Broncos coming off a dominant, dominant dub win over
the Dallas Cowboys forty four. Twenty four. Got the young
guys going in this one. Uh, not a lot to
complain about, except what Patzertam comes away with an injury.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
Oh my god, patser Dams. He's hurt. He's got the
peck strain and he's got to be out.

Speaker 1 (00:26):
A minimum of two weeks, probably more like four to
six as we're looking at this thing, and he is, Uh,
that's gonna be a potential issue for this defense. Maybe
change the way you defend a little bit. Having our
best corner out, So there is there is.

Speaker 3 (00:42):
That that's no fun. Yeah, definitely. PS two, it's been
fight all year. You know, he's mentioned nine number one
receivers all year long, and somebody.

Speaker 2 (00:53):
Else gotta step up. And that's that's that's where.

Speaker 3 (00:57):
New players are found in a lot of times, you know,
a lot of times guys haven't got an opportunity to play. Now,
Chris Abrams, drain Hyatt, a Barron chance, show what you
can do.

Speaker 1 (01:09):
Yeah, and that's gonna be And that's gonna be what
we're gonna see here is we're gonna see the opportunity
for the young guys to step up and showcase that
they're ready for this. We all know Vance Joseph is
hesitant to play rookies, but Jetty Baron will get more snaps,
Chris Abrams Drain will get get significantly more snaps, and
and we'll see what they're able to do.

Speaker 2 (01:26):
I I you know, it's joking with you.

Speaker 1 (01:27):
During the break on the other side of the field,
I think Ronley Walls is like, Okay, they're finally gonna
target somebody.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
But me, boy, yeah, poor Riley Man and he plays.

Speaker 1 (01:36):
Riley's a good player, don't get me wrong, but man,
other teams like, I'm just not throwing it.

Speaker 2 (01:40):
So Dan, I'll just throw over here.

Speaker 4 (01:41):
Fifty five it's like the most targets in the most
targets of fifty five times.

Speaker 2 (01:47):
Yeah, but what would you do? I mean, oh, I
throw a Roley Moss every single time.

Speaker 3 (01:50):
I mean, he's a good, great player, but hey, he's
too is elite, So uh, yeah, you got it through somebody,
and that's that's that's normally what what's him trying to do?

Speaker 2 (02:00):
Uh?

Speaker 3 (02:01):
But right, you've been hoing his own though he's uh,
he's good in my boot.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
Yeah, I mean right, don't even me wrong. I think
all the hate, the rising Moss haters are kind of weird,
you know. I like Riding Boss. I think he's a
good corner, but I think he's got to re breathe
a sigh of relief, like, Okay, all right, the ball
is actually gonna go other places for once, you know,
turn from time to time, and I think that that's
I think that'll help him out a little bit too.
You know, with some of this stuff that you look

(02:25):
at next week's game, you get the Houston Texans not
exactly a murderer's row of receivers, especially with their their
main receivers have been injured, but they get a little
something going against the forty nine ers. With that trio
of Iowa State rookies between Xavier Hutchinson and I was
the received for my resis receivers Noel and Higgins. They

(02:47):
had a little something going with that. The defense of
Houston is really what I'm worried about, because we were
going from playing one of the absolute worst defenses I
have ever seen in my life in Dallas.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
Come on, man, dude, in person, yeah, I mean you
were there, you know, they're running around looking at each
other with their hands up the whole time. Like I've seen,
junior high defense is better organized than this band. Did
you guys practice right? What is what? And you got?

Speaker 1 (03:14):
You got? Hebra flues out here running guys that they
you know, they were all designed for a man defense.

Speaker 2 (03:18):
Trying to play Tampa too. Do you love the touchdown pass?

Speaker 1 (03:22):
He threw it right over the line, but the linebacker
didn't have enough depth.

Speaker 2 (03:25):
He jumps up for it. And if the touchdown pass
the bow through, Yeah, this is right.

Speaker 1 (03:28):
It just hit the hit the seam, hit the the
Troy spot right behind you hit the spot right behind
the linebacker in between the safeties. You don't want anybody
within a mile of him because the linebacker didn't get
up depth. The safeties are two wide.

Speaker 2 (03:39):
And plan cover two. I don't know.

Speaker 3 (03:41):
I'm not sure exactly what your line they were on,
but normally from the thirty yard line in you can't
do cover two. Cover two is unless you go you
hit you to the corners, all right. If that outside
corner runs deep, you gotta take them, and then you
can help on this on.

Speaker 2 (03:55):
The slat receival. But you can't do the run seams,
you done. You cooked.

Speaker 1 (03:58):
That's so if you're the if you're the corner, if
you're the low zone corners, you gotta be the carry guy.

Speaker 2 (04:02):
Carry them off. Yeah, you know, in those kinds of situations.

Speaker 1 (04:04):
But no, just they're trying to play Tampa too with
the defense and a bunch of players that aren't designed
to play Tampa two.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
It's hilarious and it's funny to me because you look
at this and you know, Dan Quinn had that.

Speaker 1 (04:13):
Defense rank seventh, fifth, and fifth, and it's three seasons
there in Dallas and the bottom has fallen out of
that thing.

Speaker 2 (04:18):
Mike Zimber.

Speaker 1 (04:19):
Last year they had about thirtieth and now they're like
thirty second they are.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
They are horribly bad.

Speaker 1 (04:25):
Meanwhile, next week we get probably if not number one,
then you know, one of the top two defenses in
the league. In the Houston Texans say they can't get
their offense going, but their defense were number one. Right, Yeah,
well that's what I'm saying, baby, that feels like it, right,
what I'm saying, they're they're up there. If they're if
they're not, if we're not, then they are. It's it's
it's awesome them that are the two best defenses in

(04:47):
the league. It's not particularly close with anybody else. And
you watch the Houston dve. They're discipline, they're tough, and
they get after the quarterback with just a four man front.

Speaker 3 (04:55):
And that's that's the thing that Bob has more than anything,
is that they can get home with four and they do.

Speaker 2 (05:01):
And our offensive line we got some good guys in
offensive line too. If we can arry Bowl's probably line
for a Pro Bowl.

Speaker 3 (05:08):
Yeah, if we can stop, if we can make them
have to bring five or six best, I believe they've
done their job. If we can not let them get
pressed with four and make them have to bring some
bring bring five or six.

Speaker 2 (05:26):
The on line. You, hey, it has to be off
to you.

Speaker 1 (05:29):
Houston has allowed only fourteen point seven points per game
this year on defense, that is number one in the league.

Speaker 2 (05:35):
We're fifth at eighteen point nine. Houston allows two hundred
and sixty six point nine yards per game, that is
number one in the league.

Speaker 1 (05:41):
They are number one against a pass, only allowing one
hundred and seventy eight point four.

Speaker 2 (05:46):
We're about fifth in everything.

Speaker 1 (05:48):
We're first in sacks, but we're you know, beyond that,
we're about We're about fifth in every defensive category, and
they are number one in every in category.

Speaker 2 (05:58):
Wet scoring across the board. I was scoring here. Number
one only allow fourteen points points per game, where we
allow eighteen point nine.

Speaker 1 (06:04):
For as good as we are, we allow nineteen points
a game. They allowed fifteen. I had his tough sledding
trying to get points, to get them. And I'll tell
you what if this offense, which had a breakout against
a bad defense in Dallas, wants to make a statement,
put up some points on that defense, put up some
points on Houston, and then nobody can deny you are
a contender at that point. So that's that's gonna be
one of the that's gonna be one of the things

(06:26):
we'll be keeping an eye on this coming week. A
lot of good stuff coming out of this game, though.
We got got a lot of the young guys going.
Pat Bryant caught a touchdown. R J. Harvey had the
hat trick and got going a little bit. We saw
Troy Franklin making a few players here and there. Started
off bad with that ugly interception, but it was all
Denver after that.

Speaker 3 (06:44):
Yeah, And I don't know if that was Pat Brant
run the rown route or Boul just you know, a
little throwing the ball a little bit behind him. But
once that interception happened, it was all all downhill from there.

Speaker 2 (06:55):
These boys, they put up some points and just came.
That's been a long times Lebron Becaus have put up
that many points in a game.

Speaker 3 (07:03):
I would imagine after the previous game, scoring thirty three
points in one quarter.

Speaker 2 (07:09):
Yeah, say, man, look only forty four for the game.
We got thirty three to the quarter last week. We
could do this.

Speaker 1 (07:17):
Yeah, this is you know JK. Dobbins. Uh, everybody was
was going in this one. It was I mean, it
wasn't even it wasn't even close by halftime.

Speaker 2 (07:28):
It was over all. The playmakers were making place. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (07:30):
And then then that's part of the thing people have
been talking about lack of playmakers this because I don't
think it's lack of playmakers. I think it's just get
execution and and you know, and play calling. We're we're
actually committing to running the ball outside effectively, We're actually
committing to doing things in that game that uh that
are we're not getting cute inside the reds and we're
not throwing touchdown passes the left tackle. You know, we're

(07:52):
not dialing up three pass plays inside the five, you know,
just playing smart sound football, and it ended up working up.
But Nick's had two or forty seven yards four passing touchdowns.
He had the only interception in the beginning, but otherwise
it was largely effective.

Speaker 3 (08:06):
His number of pass contempt was down down significant.

Speaker 1 (08:12):
Yeah, he only had twenty nine versus fifty that he'd
had in the previous week, which is probably the balance
that you want.

Speaker 2 (08:18):
JK.

Speaker 1 (08:18):
Dobbins had fifteen rushing attempts for one hundred and eleven yards.

Speaker 2 (08:22):
R J.

Speaker 1 (08:22):
Harvey had seven carries for forty six yards, forty which
came on one play. Marvin Nims had three carries for
eighteen yards. Tyler Beday got in there for a carry
for six yards.

Speaker 3 (08:33):
Had I think what six penalties. I think the pedalies
were down. I had to go back to the down.
I'm pretty sure it was like six, you know.

Speaker 1 (08:40):
Troy Franklin had six catches for eighty nine yards, two
touchdowns by far as big ast day as a pro.

Speaker 2 (08:47):
Courtland Sutton four.

Speaker 1 (08:48):
Catches for sixty seven They came close to getting the touchdown.
Pat Bryant had the touchdown, got two catches for forty yards.
Evan Ingram continued his role for for thirty six. Dobbins
and Harvey caught a couple of ball They targeted my guy,
Nate Adkins. He almost had that Tuddy. They were lined
up in correctly and they couldn't quite connect, but they
almost had it.

Speaker 2 (09:07):
Yeah, you know, we try to get to everybody. Everybody
got a little bit. Yeah, we joke about that.

Speaker 1 (09:12):
The only real blemish I think on this game, outside
of the Sutan injury was Jeremy Crosshaw's punting was not
exactly where.

Speaker 2 (09:18):
You'd want it to be.

Speaker 1 (09:20):
Hard, kind of kind of difficult to complain about the
punting in a game.

Speaker 2 (09:24):
I don't think it was that far. It was like
forty six yards. I'm like, oh dang, it was as
long as when it was forty seven.

Speaker 1 (09:29):
You know, he had two punts for eighty one of
which was was forty seven and the other was like
thirty three yards, neither of which got the requisite amount
of hangtime you want that kind of stuff.

Speaker 2 (09:38):
It was.

Speaker 1 (09:39):
You know that that's been a weird thing with him.
He's been such up and down. It hasn't cost him yet,
but that that was the one little thing. If I
had to find something to gripe about in this game,
that would be the thing I would be like, all right,
cross Shaw was not where we needed him to be,
although we didn't really need him much in this game.

Speaker 2 (09:53):
He only had two opportunities to punt the ball.

Speaker 3 (09:56):
Yeah, but these are the times when you know players
who may be having some missions.

Speaker 2 (10:01):
These are the times you can try to get.

Speaker 3 (10:03):
Better, you know, And the only way you can get
better is doing it in the game.

Speaker 2 (10:08):
You practice, say practice, you can ball out all you
want to, but it doesn't count. Got the game, Yeah,
and that's that's the thing.

Speaker 1 (10:15):
On the defensive side, Alex Kingkinson was all over the
place again in the absence of green Law, who were
getting back.

Speaker 2 (10:20):
Even though we're losing.

Speaker 1 (10:21):
Uh, you know, patser Tan for the next couple weeks
for getting green Law back. That'll be good single to
eleven tackles, uh in this one. Chris Abrams Drain was
second with eight tackles. That's something that kind of makes
you raise your eyebrow a little, but you don't want
corners uh doing that kind of thing.

Speaker 2 (10:35):
But I think the for me, the highlight of the
game with Doddrintz Hilman, Oh bit.

Speaker 3 (10:44):
Big Prescott forced to throw earl and he throws the
right to a broco and this is going to be
an interception for the defense that is working, that is still.

Speaker 2 (10:53):
On the loose, that is Tilman has hit him behind
and knocked down Shy of midfield thirty seven yards return
by Don Drake Hillman. Dak Prescott threw it right to him.
If it's me. Did you see the way he was
like fighting those tackles. I was like, I'm trying. He
was like, man, and we're gonna dialup the trick plays.

(11:16):
Let's put that down, tight end, get hit the ball.
That going down. Boy, he was hard to break down. Boy.
That was that was fun to watch. That was fun
to wat. Was one of the best player I was
watching that. I was like, oh boy, he's running angry.
Tillman was was was getting you know, he was running
like he was you know Grant Smith after doing a
show with me. Anything to get away, just go do it,

(11:40):
just all angry. Anything you can do to get away.
It's uh no, it was.

Speaker 1 (11:43):
That was that was fun to watch. Of course we
saw you a barn get his first inception. Man good
for the young young buck there who's probably gonna be
called on a little bit more with Tan being out,
so good to see that out of him.

Speaker 2 (11:55):
Overall. I mean, I thought, uh, I thought the offense
was I mean, I thought the defense was pretty solid.

Speaker 1 (11:59):
You love to see a few more sacks Franklin Myers
and Zach Allen getting in there for sex. You'd love
to see a few more sacks, But you know how
tough then ned pick that on a day we.

Speaker 2 (12:07):
Turnovers, getting the turnovers. I mean, you know, we we
we'll get to set.

Speaker 3 (12:11):
We've been getting the sacks, we've been getting the pressures.

Speaker 2 (12:13):
But the turnovers. I've got turnovers, So that'll be that'll
be interesting.

Speaker 1 (12:17):
It's it's fascinating how we're going from this team which
had a very vaunted offense and uh, well we'll call
it charitably an defense because there was no d happening
to Houston where there's not much offense there. There hasn't
been thus far, although there was in the last game. Uh,
and their defense has been lights out. So it's an
interesting I think week to week here where we're going

(12:37):
from what's supposed to be a great offense and a
bad defense to what's supposed to be a bad offense
and a great defense, and I'm kind of looking forward
to seeing the swing on that a little bit.

Speaker 3 (12:46):
Yeah, and it just challenges both sides. You know, no
team can can rest and say, oh, yeah, we can
take it easy this week. No, we got to come
out and play because we're counting you. The whole team's
kind of.

Speaker 2 (12:57):
Got Colorado's counting on. Broncos. Country is out.

Speaker 1 (13:00):
Yeah, and the Broncos snapped the streak of ugly football
over the weekend. CSU got blanked by Wyoming, Colorado got
clown hammered by Utah. Now I went into this would
just worry. I was like, oh man, it's one of
those weeks which is just bad football in Colorado.

Speaker 2 (13:14):
We're gonna lose. And then you know what happened.

Speaker 1 (13:17):
They came out and they they proved me wrong. They
were like, no, oh bright, we hurt you. The players
make play. Yeah, it was tell me didn't have to
yell my name out as he was running back. That
was a little walkwerd back like that was that was
a little much you'd have to do that. You didn't
have to shoot that finger up at me. I mean,
that was a little that was much. Man, come on now,
but that's you know that, that's one of those things.

Speaker 2 (13:36):
It was. It was I came into this thing with
a little trepidation. You know.

Speaker 1 (13:41):
I talked to you a little bit before the game
up there in the press box or whatever.

Speaker 2 (13:45):
Get Ben's fieldings on what's going to happen in a
so they can really bring you down before the kickoff
sometimes sometimes, but man, this dude is right. I don't
know how it does it. Nine times out of ten,
I was wrong on this one. Tacking against the Broncos
this weekend.

Speaker 1 (14:00):
Well, to be honest with you, I picked Cincinnati to
to beat the Jets. I picked Atlanta to beat Miami. Uh,
this was not the like at this point, do you
even want me picking the Broncos. I think it might
be good luck keeping against him with the ray. I
was picking game, that Cincinnati game, and I knew Grant
had to beat Grant the Bengals fingers, but had to

(14:21):
be lamenting that because I was sitting there and watching,
I was like, you got the crappiest quarterback on Earth,
and justin they took the ball out of his hands,
let Brie All throw it. They were so they were
so worried about throwing an interception.

Speaker 2 (14:30):
So we had Bengals were up big in that game.

Speaker 4 (14:34):
You just just came back and I had Breece Hall
on my fantasy team, so I was like, I could
use a touchdown or two from Breeze Hall.

Speaker 2 (14:40):
Didn't need the third one. Yeah, so I did. He
did pretty good, played fine for the quarter, I mean
until you're.

Speaker 4 (14:49):
Right, and then nobody did anything the last quarter, the
fourth quarter, they all mailed it in and it was it.

Speaker 2 (14:54):
Was not enough. But good for Justin Fields, I will
say that, Yeah, good for him. Comments last week is
a comment.

Speaker 1 (15:02):
Oh Jet's owner Woody Johnson last week came out and
defended Aaron Glad as the head coach, saying it's tough
to win when you got a quarterback like that that's
not accurate and can't hit, you know, And he was
just blasting his quarterback, right.

Speaker 2 (15:13):
He said, if we could complete a pass, maybe we'd
be able to win a game. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (15:18):
So then Justin Fields gets you know, reporters immediately go
to Hutt. Isn't that New York market?

Speaker 2 (15:22):
Amediately, man may keep it real, but Dave.

Speaker 3 (15:26):
Was he lying?

Speaker 2 (15:26):
No, he wasn't. But you can't say that about your
own quarterback. Oh. I know.

Speaker 3 (15:30):
I'm just saying though, but sometimes people got to hear
it like that, Yeah, in order for them to respond,
and he probably why's the other quarterback plan?

Speaker 1 (15:38):
Then?

Speaker 2 (15:38):
You know, I got to get rid of his ball fast? Yeah.

Speaker 1 (15:41):
Well then Torod Taylor, who was going to be starting,
ended up Ghetting injured and so they had to go
back to Justin Fields. In the same week they hit
him on They hit him up at the locker room
like did you hear these quotes?

Speaker 2 (15:50):
And he's like, oh, I didn't hear what what what
do you do you? Oh? I don't. You know, everybody does.
But you know he was classy about it, you know,
he's like, oh what Yeah, I mean he's he can
feel that way. I'm just trying to do what I
can do. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (16:00):
Yeah, And like I say, sometimes people need that to
get it get over the hump man.

Speaker 5 (16:05):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (16:06):
And I'm sure he's looked.

Speaker 3 (16:09):
At some film like I gotta get and somebody told.

Speaker 2 (16:11):
Him, bro, you can give it at ball. Yeah. Yeah,
he's holding holding hold in the league. Actually, my far
slowest in the league turns to get rid of it.

Speaker 5 (16:19):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (16:19):
And that's that's sort of been the knock on him
since he was back at at Ohio State five.

Speaker 1 (16:23):
Six six nine zeros a text slot. I don't got
quite a few texts coming in. Somebody says, Houston is
not good.

Speaker 4 (16:28):
Man.

Speaker 2 (16:29):
I'll tell you this. Go look at that. Go to
the defense. That team may not be good, but the
defense is Uh, that defense is legitimate. Go uh, you
can go watch that. Uh see two or four.

Speaker 1 (16:39):
Where did you think of Sean Payton going for two
after the penalty on the extra point?

Speaker 2 (16:43):
I did not like that choice. Stupid. Mathematically, it's the
smart move, believe it or not. Stupid.

Speaker 1 (16:48):
You're you're down to a half yard. It's it's an
easy it's our one yard. It's an easy gat in
terms of percentage. And if you fail, your failure outcome
puts you at ten points up, which is a touchdown
a field goal, So you're still to two points two
scores up.

Speaker 2 (16:59):
So there are two.

Speaker 1 (17:00):
There are two times mathematically where it's a lot to
do it. That's one and the others. If you're down fourteen,
then you know, and you're in the second half of
a game, then you should always go for two because
if you get it, you're in line to win in regulation,
and if you lose, you could get another opportunity to
go for it and and then try to go and
try to eaven it back out and then go, you know,

(17:21):
win it overtime.

Speaker 4 (17:21):
So your your mask stupid. I just think you're I mean,
what's the point. There's no need to do it. I
mean you're ruining your momentum of your offense when you
do a play like that.

Speaker 1 (17:33):
Or maybe they had, you know, maybe they had something
they wanted to put on tape. Maybe they maybe they
had to play there they wanted to put on tap off.

Speaker 4 (17:38):
People looking at it to be fair mathematically, like you said,
correct when you're down fourteen, also hate that play, Yeah,
get with them seven.

Speaker 1 (17:46):
Well, but the math says that Sean Payton did that.
They were down more than fourteen in the fourth quarter.
Everybodys wonder why they were going for two when they
didn't need to or whatever. I'm like, because you're trying
to win it in regulation. You're not trying to get
it to a coin toss. And and you know, so
the idea is that you get too shot at potentially
winning it in regulation if you if you can make
those scores and so so the math, like Sean Payton,
Like for all the grites that I ever have about him,

(18:07):
he played.

Speaker 2 (18:08):
That mathematically smart. You like it. I like the mathematics.
I like it when you play, when you just play
smart football.

Speaker 1 (18:14):
I love because to me, a coach's job is to
give his guys the best chance possible to win.

Speaker 2 (18:19):
And then and the math is very clear on this,
This gives you the best chance to win. You're a nerd.
Did you say that? You just said it about Detroit's
uh coach for going photo fourth down? Did you?

Speaker 1 (18:33):
I mean, oh, this past week? No, just and just
Sometimes it's value, but sometimes it's not. There are some
four downs of situations that do and something don't.

Speaker 2 (18:40):
Right now, I need some nerds. We got a break.
We'll be back.

Speaker 1 (18:49):
I want to read you guys a little something here.
I'll read you read for you. Steve Kurt Warner had
to say here, he says, uh uh, somebody to see
what we got. And he'd been asked to break down
bow Nicks. He said, I felt bow had been playing
too fast, his feet moving as soon as he hits
the top of the drop, and not always allowing the
offense to work for him. But I thought He was

(19:10):
awesome yesterday, awesome in all Caps made a bunch of
big time throws, even though I'm not sure Dallas covered anyone.
I want to see him when they don't throw a
bunch of screens and get a real sense of how
good he is. What do you think about Kurt Warner
saying about bo Nicks.

Speaker 3 (19:24):
Well, you know, Kurt Warner knows football, he knows football man,
and you know he did give him props with his games,
and he played a good game. But as everybody else been,
everybody got a few errors they need to work on.

Speaker 1 (19:38):
Bo always looks like he's playing too fast in the
beginning of games. That's why, you know, when he threw
the interception, and normally I would say that, I don't know.
The first thing I thought of was miscommunication.

Speaker 2 (19:48):
But then I go back and I was looking at
the replay or whatever, I'm like, man, that's a slant
and he just threw that ball like a mile behind
him like Boo's normally not off like that.

Speaker 1 (19:56):
Yeah, that was, but he did do that little weird
side arm like thing that he does, and I'm like,
maybe he just you know, anyway, I don't know what
the answer on that when he is. We'll get a
chance to ask you about that. But I don't know
what the thing is on that. But other than that,
he played a pretty flawless game out there.

Speaker 2 (20:12):
He was doing both.

Speaker 3 (20:13):
That's that's the boat knicks that once he thought we
were going to have early in a year.

Speaker 2 (20:17):
Sometimes it takes a while to get there once.

Speaker 1 (20:19):
He once he like gets in a rhythm in a game, though,
like early on, like he's throwing you remember last him
gets the Giants right, He started with a three it out.
The first ball was way too high to Pat Bryant,
and he just looks like he's nervous to start games.
To me, he's too sped up. He's a little off.
And then you know, you get that second third drivel
a sudden he starts to settle it a little bit.

(20:39):
He starts to look a lot better.

Speaker 3 (20:41):
Yeah, And I think it also helps that when the
run game is going, he can count on that some
and not have the pressure of just say, we have
a penalty and then we're backed up second and fifteen,
you know, third and eleven, knowing that you pretty much
have to pass the ball, you know, I think take
some of the pressure. Yeah, Yeah, I think that that

(21:02):
definitely helps. And we did a great job of really
spreading the ball around and and and and incorporating to
run yesterday too. So hats off to mister Sean Payton
calling nose plays.

Speaker 1 (21:15):
You have for it. Hey, yeah, delete the screenplays, start
the football, and it's going to open everything else up.

Speaker 2 (21:22):
I'm not saying that, Sean. You know, if you need
by consulting services, I'm here. There we go. I'm not
saying that you know that you need to, but I'm
just saying to get raised too high though, man bye
right one bitcoin bigcomper game, bitcoin bick comper game. Yeah,
I know. I mean, it's it was. It was refreshing

(21:42):
to see him like, this is the way this offense
should function.

Speaker 1 (21:44):
You don't have to if if bo nix is throwing
the ball fifty times a game, something went horribly wrong, right,
you don't want that. You need him right around the
thirty attempt to game mark. You need to have the
running backs right around the twenty five attempt to game mark.

Speaker 2 (21:58):
And that's that's kind of the distribution that you want.

Speaker 3 (22:01):
Yeah, And I said, once you can incorporate that run game,
I get behind the sticks with penalties that's that's been
a huge problem for us too, that we cannot underestimate
how big of a problem penalties have been, you know,
the last several games when we haven't been able.

Speaker 2 (22:15):
To get on track offensively as well.

Speaker 1 (22:17):
So you didn't have too many of those in the
Dallas game, but we have we have had those penalties
and boneheaded penalties too.

Speaker 2 (22:22):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (22:22):
Snap, stuff just just weird the way that you know,
we we've had an abundance a pact and and then
you know, you're ei the coaches it's happening. You're allowing
it to happen. But it wasn't just one game like
it was like five six games in a row where
we're just like, dude, what are we doing on off it?
We're shooting ourselves in the foot here.

Speaker 3 (22:39):
And sometimes when you have, you know, new players on
the team, everybody's still kind of learning each other.

Speaker 2 (22:47):
You have some of that in the beginning, and you.

Speaker 3 (22:49):
Know, I think Sean Payton lest some of that slide
knowing that we're at that stage.

Speaker 2 (22:56):
But it's at the.

Speaker 3 (22:57):
Point now like hey man, look now we've they got
to be disciplined. We cannot let we cannot afford to
lose games because we have too many penalties and we
get behind the eight ball, and it's it's.

Speaker 2 (23:08):
Hard to dig out. It's hard to dig out, and
as those holes sometimes it is.

Speaker 1 (23:11):
I love the fact this team stacked wins early this
year because the tough part of the schedule is coming up.
I know, you've got two games against the Raiders, but
otherwise that schedule starting to look pretty tough.

Speaker 2 (23:19):
Texans are tougher than people think. They got a really
good defense.

Speaker 1 (23:21):
Kansas City twice, another Chargers game, and we haven't beaten
them in the Sean Payton era.

Speaker 2 (23:26):
You got the Green Bay.

Speaker 1 (23:27):
Packers in there, the Jaguars who have found games where
they've been fairly decent. The part of the schedule is
coming up is fairly tough, and this is the time
to continue to stack wins every opportunity you get. In
showcase today, we're gonna we're gonna make it to the
playoffs and we're gonna.

Speaker 2 (23:44):
Be a contender. And you know, they're on their way.
They're well on their way with that. Yeah, they're they're
on their way.

Speaker 3 (23:49):
And like I said, they can't really take any games
off because you know, you never know, like this injury
with Tan.

Speaker 2 (23:57):
With Certan.

Speaker 3 (23:58):
You know you have no we may have an injury
that happens later on in the year. So all the
games that you can win, you got to. You gotta
win them when you when you when you can and
you can't, you cannot win them. You can you cannot
lose them due to penalties, and you know, uh, especially
when you go out there and play asidic game, you

(24:19):
can't afford to lose those due to like self inflicted wounds.

Speaker 2 (24:24):
Yeah, and then and that's that was a big thing
with this one too.

Speaker 1 (24:26):
Not a lot of self inflicted uh penalties in this game,
mostly mistake free.

Speaker 2 (24:32):
Overall. I loved it.

Speaker 1 (24:33):
I mean the defense, for me, the more impressive feat
I Mean, everybody's gushing about the offense, but you were
playing against a horrible defense like good. I'm glad that's
not a negative. But the more impressive thing to me
was holding Dak Prescott to one hundred and eighty eight yards,
no touchdowns, two interceptions. Uh, you did get two sacks
on them, and you also held Javante I know he

(24:54):
got those two rushing touchdowns Jill Javonte to forty one
yards and that's good. Yeah, you know, he'd been the
second leading rusher in the NFL by Jonathan Taylor, who
you've already played. He held him with forty one yards
three point two a carry. That's that's pretty good. This
longest run was nine yards.

Speaker 3 (25:12):
I think with all the looks and our guys up front,
you know, even without Drake Greenlaw, who was a vital
part of his defense. You know, I think Justice Teranatt
has been playing really good football too.

Speaker 2 (25:23):
Man.

Speaker 5 (25:24):
I think when green Law comes back, I think you
gotta said Singleton.

Speaker 2 (25:29):
I mean, he had a bunch of tackles his game.
He did. But having a bunch of tackles, isn't it
exactly a side? You know? How did those guys get there?
To you? I think the way Stern Odd has been playing,
I don't think you consider him.

Speaker 1 (25:39):
He's getting after the quarterback, he's going sideline to sideline.

Speaker 5 (25:42):
He's falling. I just I don't think that'll happen though.
I think a green Law out there. I'm just saying
it's tough for me to look at look at what
I'm looking at. It's tough for me to sit Stern
Odd look at how he's playing.

Speaker 3 (25:58):
Yeah, yeah, I mean he's definitely made it a case
for himself. He's playing style of football, and.

Speaker 2 (26:02):
Maybe there'll be some kind of rotation there, you know,
I don't I don't know, but we'll see. You can't
just sit them. You're not playing anymore now.

Speaker 3 (26:09):
Yeah, so maybe maybe he'll get And also, you know, Dre,
he was on a little bit of a pitch count.

Speaker 2 (26:14):
Yeah, there you've been twenty snaps. I think you ever
take they were looking at twenty twenty twenty five was
the magic.

Speaker 1 (26:19):
Number you know when uh what they were what was
that the Giants game? That was the That was the
magic number there, And I think he got in between
the two. So yeah, I think you see, yeah, he's
in between there, you know.

Speaker 2 (26:32):
So he's coming back.

Speaker 1 (26:33):
That'll be that'll be good when we're like we're losing
Sir Tan for a couple of weeks, but we're getting
green Law back.

Speaker 2 (26:37):
So there's some given.

Speaker 1 (26:39):
There is some take when it comes to, uh, you know,
the personnel reshuffling there. I just think it's gonna be
tougher on that back end. I don't think you can
play on an island as much with Abrams, Strain and
Moss and and you know out there, I think you
I think you're gonna have to probably run some two
deep man under type stuff.

Speaker 3 (26:53):
I think the most important thing is going to be
that the guys know what's going on, right, you know
what I'm saying, not so much.

Speaker 2 (27:00):
Well, you don't want to run around like the talas
defense confused up their nobody knowing what the other one's doing. Hey, man,
I've been, I've been.

Speaker 3 (27:07):
I've been on the field like with with with people
like that before and when guys aren't sure what to do.

Speaker 2 (27:13):
Man, that's the worst thing for defense boy, because they're
gonna they're gonna they're gonna find the weakness. They're gonna
find who's that being covered that guy? Yeah, like, oh
got rights out there, We're going to time.

Speaker 1 (27:26):
You know.

Speaker 3 (27:26):
One of the most frustrating things for Ed Rusher, interior
defensive lineman two is they make a great move at
the line of scrimmage, get to the backfield, they have
the sack right there in their hands and he slips
away in one of his teammates.

Speaker 2 (27:41):
He's had four teammates, but he's like the edge guy
comes in, it cleans it up, Like, come on, man,
it's gonna happen. Noose sack.

Speaker 1 (27:51):
Yeah, you gotta know you go through you you've got
two guys all you muscle your knife your way through
the double team, especially the three man front like that,
you know your knife your way through the double team.
He's there, You're with any and she's and then you
got smiling Nick Benito standing right there like, hey, appreciate
you man, thanks pushing playing putting right my arms.

Speaker 2 (28:05):
Yeah, yeah, man, that's that's frustrating. But you know, I'm
not inhabits for the guys, but you know it's like, man,
I was so close.

Speaker 1 (28:12):
Yeah, it was the It was the interior defensive lineman
who got both Saxons game, John Frank La Myers and
Zach Allen. Wasn't He was like, oh, it was like
I was right there right feast Cosa Beno. We got
the Houston Texans coming up, and this is a tough defense.
How do you how do you transition from going up
against the team you know you're going to be able

(28:33):
to hang someone because their defense just ain't there to
to ostensibly the best defense in the NFL in the
Houston Texas. Did the offensive guys come to the defensive
guys looking for pointers?

Speaker 2 (28:43):
No? No, not too arrogant, se no, no, no, no,
it's not that. It's not that. I just say, you know,
they got all answers in that room.

Speaker 3 (28:52):
But the thing is, it's going to have to be
clean football the way this last game was for the
most part, you know, I mean like six six six,
seven penalties not nearly as bad. I think, you know,
under forty yards in penalties, that's doable. We want to
keep it under five. But we can win with that.
And when we play these better football teams who have

(29:15):
great defenses, we really got to be disciplined. We cannot
jump off size, we cannot have the holding penalties, we
cannot be doing stuff after the play to you know,
get these penalties that are going to set us back.
And while in the in the moment, it doesn't seem
like it's a big deal, but when they add up,
it's you know, the cumulus of effect is what hurts you.

Speaker 2 (29:36):
Inches add up to feet, feet add up to miles.

Speaker 1 (29:38):
You know.

Speaker 2 (29:39):
Let's just saying like you just you know, you get
it off inches, you hit a mile. Yeah. So that's
one of those things about Bonex joining some rare company
in this game. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (29:48):
Four touchdowns, yeah, way, and multiple games, Yeah, in three
games and more.

Speaker 2 (29:52):
They only can only tell quarterbacks to do that.

Speaker 1 (29:54):
John Hellway and Peyton Manning and bow Knicks in Broncos franchises.
Even Jake Plumber didn't get there. I wouldn't worry by
t BO getting there.

Speaker 2 (30:00):
But you know, even even.

Speaker 1 (30:03):
Even even Jake Plummer didn't get there, Well, you're crazy,
I'm a terrible human being.

Speaker 2 (30:07):
It's fun.

Speaker 3 (30:08):
No, that's that's the big feat, especially at this juncture,
and it is so early in his career, uh that
you know, he has a long career to go and
he's gonna accomplish many more feats than this.

Speaker 2 (30:21):
But uh yeah, hats off, hats off the bow. Another
guy that got going R J. Harvey on the text
line four o seven.

Speaker 1 (30:27):
But I've been trying to get the answer from you
for this on a little bit on social media. Uh
why did it take so long for the Broncos? He's
RJ Harvey the way they did yesterday. Should I be
worried he's not gonna get much more activity while he's
in Denver? No, I wouldn't say that. I'd say it's
he's a young guy and they try to try to
bring him along.

Speaker 2 (30:42):
You had JK. Dobbins who's playing real well, he's still
doing his things. J K is balling.

Speaker 3 (30:47):
I mean, both of those guys are solid running backs,
and I love the way that we're utilizing them.

Speaker 1 (30:55):
You get a game like this against a defense you
think you're going to be able to put some and
you get the young guys.

Speaker 2 (30:59):
That's what they did. They put the young guys out
there a little more, got a little run, get them
a little confidence. Hey, look, you know, because you're doing
it against the defense is a little softer. I would
expect those guys.

Speaker 1 (31:06):
To take a little bit of a step back against
Houston and more of the veterans are going to be
up against a tough defense like that. But then when
you get the Raiders, you probably put those young guys
back out there, saying, look is a softwer defense. Let's
get him Ba out there, get him a little more run,
a little more tick. And that's the thing I don't think.
I don't think Harvey, you don't need to be worried.
I mean, he's he's gonna be one of the guys
here as far as the stuff goes. I just think
that he's a young guy and they try to put

(31:27):
him in the right situation to build his confidence up.

Speaker 3 (31:29):
And when you have a quality running back like RJ Harvey,
you you're gonna give him a bulk of the carries.
And yeah, RJ Harvey is an unforunate situation for far
I'm gonna say unfortunate. And I think it's fortunate because
he's on the team with a great player and also
a great leader, a guy who we can learn from

(31:50):
as well.

Speaker 2 (31:50):
So it is a good situation. They get along, they think.

Speaker 3 (31:53):
Their their their energy, their relationship is great too, So
I think it's a good situation for RJ.

Speaker 2 (32:00):
And you know, when when the time is right, he'll
he'll be there. Yeah, I will hardly agree. And I
love the one two punch that they've got going on
right now. For one zero, what week in the NFL
start flexing games?

Speaker 1 (32:10):
The NFL can flex games anywhere from week five to
week seventeen, so they could have already been flexing games
if they wanted to, but week five through week seventeen,
and I would not be surprised to see if maybe
one of these one or more of these.

Speaker 2 (32:21):
Broncos game gets flexed.

Speaker 1 (32:22):
The think about it is, though, most of these games
that are coming up are already primetime games. You got
a Kansas City game that's going to be on Christmas.
You've got the Commander's game that's already a primetime game.
Most of these games that are coming up as you
look at the at the Broncos schedule, the ones that
you would consider against quality opponents like that are already
kind of kind of set to be.

Speaker 2 (32:44):
Primetime games. Commanders games, a Sunday night football, maybe that
Packers game.

Speaker 1 (32:48):
You never know, Yeah, Packers and you know the Jags
are four and three, they will off some wins. Maybe
that's day that Sunday game, Maybe that could be something.
But the Packers game, I would suggest on December fourteenth
is pro Probably you're most likely to get flexed out
of all these games that would be flexed to a
nighttime game.

Speaker 2 (33:04):
Yeah, and we're not sure what that with that final
Chargers game either.

Speaker 1 (33:08):
I mean that would be a yeah, Steve, Steve, it's
great to great to get to get you up with
you as as always.

Speaker 2 (33:14):
Hey, thank you, appreciate your man, you're the man.

Speaker 1 (33:17):
Yeah, well man, I'm gonna you you the landlord. I'm
gonna be a little liked with rent this month. I'm
just looking for the uh for the grace period there,
but we gott hit up break.

Speaker 2 (33:25):
We'll be back with you, crazy
