Speaker 1 (00:00):
Thanks to Steve at Water for joining us in the
last hour mistake part of that. You go to Broncos
Country Night dot Com, Splash podcast or each podcast, Apple iTunes, Spotify,
the Free and redesigned iHeart Radio, or you cannot get
new episodes of the Take It for Granted podcast because
he said, bleep my audience. I don't respect him, I
don't care. But the archives are up there. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
Maybe if the audience would have grown a little bigger,
I would have cared a little more.

Speaker 1 (00:21):
That's fair. I'm growing bigger.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
Not everyone can have such a following like Benjamin Albrey.

Speaker 1 (00:25):
Well, I'm growing big Oh the audience, I was referring
to me as the audience, I am growing bigger in
the mid section.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
Well, I would give you some give you a hard
time about that, but as am I my friend.

Speaker 1 (00:36):
Have some pizza back there, pie there we go. All right,
let's go out to the kaw comus for the hotline
and bring on our guy Parker, Gabriel Mark, Are you
doing what's up?

Speaker 3 (00:45):
Bros? Three for three on the growing bigger in the
mid section.

Speaker 1 (00:50):
That's why we reached out, man. We just wanted to
commiserate about getting old and going from the six pack
to the whole keg. But you know, I think you
might need all keg for celebrating all the touchdowns at Dever,
Broncos were putting on the Dallas Cowboys. Well maybe we'll
call them the Alice Cowboys because there was no d happening.
But I as far as this game goes, it looked
like there really wasn't anything to nitpick or or to

(01:14):
be upset about. And then we get the news today.
We sort of knew last night that was a peck
strain with her tan, we get the news today that
the second opinion didn't go that well, and it's looking
like he's gonna be on a while.

Speaker 3 (01:25):
Yeah, obviously like that, you're exactly, Ryan mean, a lot
of good from the game and then the only bad
really is on the injury front. So we'll see, you know,
we'll see with with pats Erkan obviously didn't go on
injured reserve today. They have to you know, have to
activate Drake Greenlaw tomorrow and they'll need a roster spot.
So whether that's an I replacement for patser ten, we'll

(01:48):
see what what the situation is with Nate Adkins too,
with the left knee injury or they could just do
sort of be up and down with with Sam Allinger
back to the practice squad. So I'm we'll find out
more about exactly where they think that that timeline is
with certain in the next couple of days. The thing
that's interesting about it is the way the schedule breaks

(02:09):
three games. Missing three games takes you all the way
to November thirtieth, So with the with the bye week
following at a decent time here for the Broncos, he
would have to be looking at missing more than five
weeks on the calendar in order for an IR placement
to make sense. So again we get a little bit
more information on just sort of where exactly the timeline

(02:30):
is based on what they do relative to injured reserve.

Speaker 1 (02:33):
That wasn't the only injury news. A little less devastating, Uh,
you know, Nate Adkins obviously has some issues that gotta
get that sorted out. And then you know, probably the
most devastating news is Hall of Famer Lucas Croll and
his issue. I was told that the Broncos have made
some calls out there about tight ends, but I was
also told that this TG Hockinson room that's floating around

(02:54):
was bunk? What have you heard on that front?

Speaker 3 (02:58):
Yeah, I'm obviously not surprising if they're gonna, you know,
at least call around on tight ends and sort of
see what's out there. There's some interesting guys too that
theoretically if you just put two and two together on
you know, tight ends bad teams. There's several different types
of players whether you're looking for, you know, sort of
more like the chigacon Quo type. Obviously, you know Taysom

(03:22):
Hill is going to be that kind of name's gonna
come up, given Sean's history with them and where New
Orleans is at, you know, I don't I don't know
about you know, Mark Andrews and Baltimore sort of type
of thing. But there's just there's a bunch of guys
out there who you could imagine could be available over
the next week or so. And when you combine obviously
now Lucas Crow looking at most of the rest of

(03:44):
the regular season being out, and then Nate Atkins, you know,
potentially missing time too. That's an area where you're talking
about either finding somebody from outside the building or relying
on on Caleb Blowner coming up from the practice squad,
so that definitely, you know, one to watch obviously over
the next eight days.

Speaker 1 (04:03):
Talking with Parker Gabriel Parker, as we as we look
at this game, I think there were some questions that
were answered. I think there's some questions still linger. I'll
get to that in a moment. But as everybody's going to
talk about the offense, the points they put up, the
youth move and all that kind of stuff, what impressed
me the most was the defense holding Dak Prescott to
till buck eighty two interceptions and then vaunted offense really

(04:25):
couldn't get going. As much as everybody thinks the offensive
questions maybe maybe got answered, and I maybe don't think
they do. I think you need next week for that.
I think the defense, any questions about this defense were
answered in a in a resounding victory. There.

Speaker 3 (04:40):
Yeah, I totally agree. I mean, obviously it is a
good day for the offense. That Dallas defense is really bad.
So there's there's a time and a place for a
get right game. The Broncos offense needed one. I think
it can serve a purpose, especially serve going into the
next couple of games that they have with Houston. You know,

(05:00):
Vegas Thursday night, but then obviously a big one in
the middle of November with Kansas City at home. So
it's it's good for the offense obviously to have an
outing like that. You're never going to complain about it,
but I agree with you. I mean, you look at
you know, George Pickens and Ceedee Lamb both end up
around seventy five yards, but they hold those guys out
of the end zone. Obviously, you know, Dak hadn't thrown

(05:21):
an interception in four weeks. They get him twice, They
put pressure on him. I thought Sean Payton put it
pretty well where he's tough to stack that they affected him.
It just seemed like, you know, they had pretty consistent pressure,
and they did a good job against the run game too,
and and and the run game. Honestly, then, like it's
been pretty darn stout the last three weeks, especially since

(05:42):
Malcolm Roach has been back, and they just they look
like a well rounded unit. Now, obviously, you know Sirtambian
out for a while changes that, but he missed more
than half obviously of the game. On Sunday, they held up. Okay,
it's a it's a big, big loss, but if there's
a defense out there that can at least cover it
for a couple of weeks that might do this one.

Speaker 1 (06:03):
That it might talk with Parker Gabriel at Parker J.
Gabriel on Twitter covers the Broncos for the Denver Post.
I'm being a bit facetious here, but might there be
anybody more? I don't want to say relieved, but in
a sense, the pressure is off a little bit than
Riley Moss because he's got to have less balls throw
his way. Now that's Dan's not out there.

Speaker 3 (06:23):
Yeah, well, I mean, yeah, I think you're right. I
mean that that and I understand the the you know,
being a joke a little bit, but but it's going
to be fascinating to see how Vance Joseph uh you know,
has to change kind of the way they play. It's
it's uh, you know, someone I was talking to you
today had a good way of putting it that it's

(06:44):
not next man up, it's next plan up. And that's
that's really what it is. I mean, it's such a
he is such a focal point of the defense that
you're going to change what you play and that that
probably means the way, you know, you change the way
Riley plays a little bit, maybe he's got a little
bit more help. Maybe they play a little bit more zone.
You still want to be aggressive, but yeah, I mean

(07:05):
you're going to have teams offenses that are gonna they
want to test for Sam Stram, they want to test
Jade Baron, and maybe that means a little bit less
work for Rally Moss, even if he ends up on
a couple of number ones here over the next few weeks.

Speaker 1 (07:18):
Talking with Parker Gabriel, as we look at what we
can take away from this offense, I think you're right.
I think there's a time and a place for a
get right game, and I think the time in the
place is right before you go into the teeth of
Houston and you're going on the road to the Houston
Texans to play the number one defense in the NFL,
and you look at these guys on tape. I know
everybody thinks we're the number one defense and we're a
very good defense. But you go look at that Houston

(07:39):
defense on tape and it is very very good. Where
they're disciplined, they play well, they get after the quarterback,
they do it with only four They are probably and
if you want a parallel. They are probably what the
Broncos have been over the last couple of years in
terms of being a very good defense with an offense
that's just trying to fix your stuff out.

Speaker 3 (08:02):
Yeah, definitely, I mean the defense is for real. Obviously,
you know, the you know, you talk about the best
edge pairs in football, and obviously, so far this year,
Nick Bonito and Jonathan Cooper are up there. Be hard
to argue if you said it was Will Anderson and
Danielle Hunter. Obviously, you know, Derek Stingley's a really really
good corner. They've just got death and then and then
also you know they've got a guy in the in

(08:26):
the head coach that that obviously the Broncos were interested
in a couple of years ago in Demico Ryans, who
you know, played defense, was a captain there. Like it's
just all it's really the identity of that of that
franchise at this point is the way they play defense
and the way that they shut people down. Number one
scoring defense in the NFL. They've been really really good

(08:48):
so far this year. And then, like you said, offensively,
like they happened at four hundred and eighty yards almost
yesterday in a win so coming around a little bit.
But the thing that they've really struggled with is just
protecting C. J. Stroud up the front. Their offensive line
has been really bad. Uh, And so that to me
is like, you know that that's the biggest question is

(09:10):
can the Broncos offensive line, which has been good, hold
up against the terrific defensive front and how much damage
can the Broncos defensive front do against a Houston offensive
line that really hasn't been very good.

Speaker 1 (09:21):
Yeah, the Houston offensive line might be the Dallas Cowboys
defensive of offensive line this year, tyber Parker Gabriel, How
good was it for R. J. Harvey to get in
there and get the hat trick? You know, you still
give the bulk of the carries to JK and he
didn't you know, he didn't get the tuddy. But the
young guys, the youth movement getting some confidence.

Speaker 3 (09:41):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (09:41):
As we as we head forward into what is probably
the meat of the schedule.

Speaker 3 (09:46):
Yeah, I think it's big because you never know when
you know, those guys have to play a lot. You
will see if Johnny Barron's role changes with with patzer
tan out or if it's mostly a Crisse from strain conversation,
but either way, I mean a and trains the young
guy too, and he got quite a bit of run,
you know, late last year and then obviously last you know, yesterday,
in the second half of that game. For a guy

(10:08):
like RJ. Harvey, I mean, I think, especially at running back,
your role is your role, but you just want to
get in a flow when you're in the game. You
want to have some success and build a little confidence.
And he seems like the type of player who you
know when he's got a little bit of a groove
and when he's got confidence, then you're more likely to

(10:28):
be aggressive with the way you cut and what you're
looking at and your decision making. And that's really the
key for him at this point. So it's nothing but
good things. Obviously for him to have three touchdowns, it's
great design and call on the touchdown late in the game,
the five yard touchdown path that he caught, and so yeah,
in more ways you can find to use him, obviously,

(10:48):
the better off you are. And then with those guys
and with Pat Bryant, just success begets success so often
in the NFL, especially for young players, and you're baking
on it, not necessarily repeating, you know, on Sunday against Houston,
but you're banking on it paying off at some point
over the next nine ten eleven weeks, however long you

(11:09):
end up.

Speaker 1 (11:10):
Playing partner, I'll last one for me and I'll get
you out of here on this. As we look at
this team as constructed, do you think they need to
be aggressive at the deadline? And what positions would you
be looking at? Well?

Speaker 3 (11:21):
I think tight end, you know, is an obvious one.
There's either conversations interesting. They just they've been so resolute
that they feel good about where that group is that,
you know, I could see an argument for it. It
doesn't it doesn't seem like their MO. But tight end,
especially with the injury stuff, has sort of become the
clear one. I'll be interested. The offensive line is interesting.

(11:43):
Maybe you would have thought that with Ben Powers and
then that pair going down, I mean alcohol Tesskey really
looks pretty good at left guard, so don't I don't
know that you necessarily need a starter or now is
can you find a guy that's for depth maybe or
something like that, you know, potentially, But I think that
question is closer to being answered with Alex paul Chesky

(12:05):
than the tight end question is, and so I guess
you know, anything's possible, but I think I think you
start there. If you're talking about, you know, where the
Broncos might look.

Speaker 1 (12:15):
Well, I love it. Parker Gabriel at Parker J. Gabriel
on Twitter comes to Broncos for the Denver Post. We
appreciate your time as always, brother night, take care it.
Spark Gabriel and I tend to agree everything that I've
heard so far. I saw some nonsense account on Twitter
making up rumors about the Broncos and they were getting
away with it because they had they'd used their Twitter

(12:37):
name and name themselves like Polymarkets something.

Speaker 3 (12:40):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (12:40):
And then they had a referral code, so they got
an affiliate badge from them to make them look make
themselves look legit. But I mean, I was told that
the t J. Hockinson thing wasn't wasn't real. You know,
we'll we'll see on that, but that's kind of what
I was told. Now they have made calls about tight ends,
but I don't know from what I understand. You know,

(13:01):
I had a bunch of people ask me about this.
I don't know that Howkinson thing is legitimate. Certainly that
account is not legitimate. That'd be awesome though, Yeah I'm wrong.
I'm not opposed. I'm just I'm trying to come at
this from a, you know, from a pragmatic and you know,
knowledgeable standpoint, and that what I had heard about that
kind of laughed at off, So we'll leave it at that.
I don't believe that they're out there looking at receivers.

(13:23):
I keep seeing stuff like that. People ask me about
Chrystal Lava, which I think the Saints are putting a
contract in front of.

Speaker 2 (13:29):
You know, I don't know why you'd want I mean,
that would just feel like I get that you're in
your championship window according to Sean Payton, but why would
you want to stunt the growth of these young guys
that we saw pop off this last week.

Speaker 1 (13:41):
Well it's you. You know, you start getting enough wins
and you start eyeballing at Lombardi, you start seeing that
silver silhouette, right, and you start being willing to do
anything to get it. And for Sean Payton, winning a
Super Bowl is his only priority. If he does not,
is Sean Payton, for all that he's done, is not
going to get the Hall of Fame without winning a
Super Bowl with the Denver b and you know he
wants that so bad he does, and just because of

(14:04):
the office and the way that you know, certain media members,
and he's just he's not going to get the Hall
of Fame without getting a second Super Bowl. Uh and
and doing something no one has ever done, what a
Super Bowl with with two separate teams. And so you know,
I think I think that you get to a point
where you start looking and saying, I got this thing

(14:24):
within my sights. You know, I've got this, I've got
this legacy building thing within my sights. Maybe we go
out and make an acquisition, you know that kind of stuff.
I just I don't know. Everybody I've talked to over there,
they are, as Parker said, resolute, I would say, adamants
about They're good with what they got. They feel like
they got, you know, a good next man up. They

(14:47):
might might get some offensive line depth, maybe some tight
end depth, but more like depth like I would I
would believe based on the conversation I had, I would
believe that they would be more likely to acquire like
a Taysom Hill who can play multiple positions receiver, h back,
tight end, you know, wildcat or quarterback those kinds of things.

(15:08):
I would be more willing to believe that that would
be what they would do. Then go out and getting
a guy like TJ. Hockinson that I mean, what would
you even use him for? Troutman's the inline guy and
of an Ingram leads the NFL and snaps from the
slot for for a tight end, Like he's a heavy slot.
He is literally a heavy slot. I know, we use
it as a joke or whatever, but like, yeah, he
leaves the NFL and snaps from from the slot for

(15:31):
you know, for why. So I don't I just I
don't believe that they're in the market for a splash
play on this kind of stuff. But you never know.
Like I said, you start looking at that wind column
and you're like, you know, we could add one more piece.
Yeah we could add we could. We got enough now.
They only have like five million cap space right now,
so they'd have to they'd have to make some moves.

(15:53):
But you know, I think for a guy like uh,
for a guy like Hill who has familiarity can can
you could plug and play and he already knows the
offense and he plays multiple positions because you had Adkins,
Kroll go down and he can play a receiver, he
can play tight end, he can play each back. I
think that kind of scenario, you know, would be the

(16:17):
one thing that you look at. We'll see. I just
really like the depth of our team already.

Speaker 2 (16:22):
And I know we've had some injuries here as of late,
but I mean, I think the prospects that we have
brought in, even Caleb Bloher that Parker mentioned, you know,
like he's raw, but if he gets the chance on
the field and you got him in the red zone,
you know he's going to come down with it, like yeah, Ice,
I mean, whats This is what the opportunities are what
make you a name, make you a household name, and

(16:42):
you've got to have those opportunities to have that come
to fruition. And they can have that opportunity right now
for the Broncos that they could.

Speaker 1 (16:49):
I again, I don't expect them to make a splash,
but they put some feelers out there for some depth
and we'll we'll see how that shakes out. Will keep
you update on that. We come back, roy Bean from CBS.
She listened to Broncos Country Night here on Kiawe thanks
to Parker Gabriel for joining us the last second, Steve
Atwater for joining us in the first hour is a
part of that. You got a Broncos Country Nights dot
Com slash podcast. Roby Bean had to cancel, so we

(17:10):
are not having her. She heard it was just you
and said, I'm not doing that. Right during the break,
I tried to get Grant Smith to throw his voice
and pretend to be Romy and he would not do it.
You know, part one out that's just going to say
we're going to stitch together some you know, how are
we gonna win without the the Ruby Bean fart went out.

Speaker 2 (17:33):
She did say she would join us later in the week,
so we have that to look forward.

Speaker 1 (17:36):
Okay, I'm just gonna say we're at risk the dever
Broncos have won every week we've played that clip.

Speaker 2 (17:43):
You know, we didn't play it last week and we
saw what happened to see you and see s U.

Speaker 1 (17:48):
In the border war. Just saying I blame Romy for this, honestly,
I mean, I think that's fair. I think it's I
think we have to lay the blame squarely there because
we did not play that clip. So a lot going
on around the league is the trade deadline, Neear's one
of the things I will say this Max Crosby to

(18:09):
Dallas stuff is nonsense. The Raiders are not trading. Max
Crosby talked to somebody over there like they are absolutely
not moving him, period and of discussion. So and he
doesn't want to leave, right.

Speaker 2 (18:23):
From everything he said in the past anyway, he said,
you know, I'm a Raider for life.

Speaker 1 (18:27):
This is where I want to be. Yeah, he wants
to be there. They want to build around him, and
they're not moving him. Like, I don't know where this
stuff came from all of a sudden that they were
going to move it. That's not happening. So no worries
about that. We'll still get to face Max Crosby twice
a year and of course twice this year as well.

(18:49):
There there's a couple others out there. Trey Hendrickson, I
don't know. I don't think they're moving him. I just
don't based on some conversations I've had. But you know,
like I said, everything's possibly to change. But I think
they believe that they, whether mistakenly or not, can be
competitive this year. Cam Taylor Britt is really the only

(19:09):
player I expect the Bengals to deal if they deal anybody,
and I think he's going to the Colts.

Speaker 2 (19:13):
I think after that Jets loss, trade Hendricks and see
what you can get out of them, because I mean,
how you gonna lose, So they're gonna get in seven Jets.

Speaker 1 (19:22):
Oh my god, dudes, and the Seekers sent me the
sliding you know, victory of Oji because now Justin Fields
has a win where Russ has none. D you and
I'm just like, oh my god, it wasn't even gonna play.
It was gonna be Torod Taylor. I'm gonna wind up
two steak dinners in the you know, in the hole. Ah.

(19:43):
This horrible quarterback bet that we have.

Speaker 2 (19:46):
And as bad as I thought it would be at
the beginning of the year, I did not think it
would be this bad for Russell Wilson and Justin Fields.

Speaker 1 (19:55):
I thought it would be this bad for Fields. I
didn't think it would be this bad for Russ. And
I'll say, and expect Dark to be this good this fast,
you know, as far as that kind of stuff goes.
I think the thing about I expected Russ to get
like half a season, give or take with Fields. I
knew that was gonna be bad. They got they got
a young OC. He's never done it before, and that's
part of the problem, you know, with him, is that

(20:18):
you just, you know, the only good OC that he's
had over his career was Arthur Smith, and Arthur Smith
couldn't wait to get to Russell Wilson when he had
fields out there. So that kind of tells you, you
know a little bit about you know about that. So

(20:39):
that's just that's one of the things Cam Taylor Britt.
I think he's gonna get moved. I think he's gonna
go to the Colts and rejoin lou Aroumo. But beyond that,
I'm not sure that the Bengals are making any moves.
We've already talked about this TJ. Howkinson rumor that's been
floating around whether or not the Broncos make a move,
and I would be very surprised if they made a
move for for TJ. Hockinson, the account that puts it
out there, which tries to make itself look legitimate by

(21:03):
using a picture of the poly market logo and putting
that in their handle and then using an affiliate referral
code to get the affiliate badge you know up there
on there on their account. That that account is not legitimate.
They put out a bunch of munch of nonsense before.
Most of what that account puts out is ripped off
pictures from from other accounts with no credit. But when

(21:23):
they do the rumor mongering stuff, they're they're always wrong.
They've always been wrong. So there's that. Got a lot
of you guys that were sweating me for picking the
Dallas Cowboys this past week. Guys, I I took Cincinnati,
I took Atlanta. I'm not sure you want me picking
the picking the Broncos right now. I think we want

(21:45):
you picking against the Broncos. But how bad it went
this past week. This was one of my worst wagering
weeks in a while, in a long time, because I
had Cincinnati, I had a I had a large, fairly
large bet on on Cincinnati might as five and a half,
and I thought I was cruising to victory on that
and I was not gambling. Problem caller texts one eight

(22:06):
hundred gambler Atlanta laid an egg at home against Miami.
How you let Miami put thirty four upon you? Miami?
Did they have they even scored thirty four points whole year?
That's a good question. I'd have to go back and look.
But Tua comes in with pink eye and goes for it,
goes for four toddies.

Speaker 2 (22:27):
Four touchdowns for two. I love seeing that too. I'm
a to a fan, even if he's says something dumb
every other week.

Speaker 1 (22:33):
They couldn't be stopped in the run game. Eight Chane,
all the Gordon, they they got right get out there
for carries. They couldn't be stopped in the run game.
It was absolutely ridiculous. Tua comes out there with pink
eye and throws for four touchdowns. Maybe a dude needs
receivers that he can't see farting on his pillow or
something more often. I'm just like that was that was

(23:00):
like how and I get the Falcons, We're starting Cousins.
But Cousins was twenty one to thirty one, didn't throw
any interceptions. What game plan in Atlanta was like, you
know what we're gonna do. Ignore Bjean Robinson. That'll fool him.
He finished the game with nine carries for twenty five yards.

Speaker 2 (23:22):
No matter how bad you're losing in a game, Robinson
has to have twenty touches.

Speaker 1 (23:27):
Yeah, at least, but yeah, I mean in the aggregate
between the receptions and the running, he needs to have
between fifteen and twenty touches. Yeah, anything less than that
is you are failing as an offensive coordinator because you.

Speaker 2 (23:38):
Never know and he's gonna pop one off for seventy yards, Like,
just give him the ball, especially with Kirk Cousins playing
back there.

Speaker 1 (23:45):
Yeah, this just did not make any sense to me whatsoever.
You have Bjean running the ball nine times at Kirk
throwing the ball thirty plus. What are we even doing here?
Just Atlanta's such a hard team to figure out. Their
fan base is their fan base is really really upset

(24:09):
with their coaching staff, like they're they're ready to run
rahe Morris and Zach Robinson out of town. Well, Zach
Robinson might go take over the Oklahoma state job anyway.
Oh really?

Speaker 2 (24:17):
Yeah, But one week Raheem Morris looks like one of
the best coaches in the NFL, and then the next
week you see this stat line, You're like, does he
even know what he's doing? And he obviously does, or
at least he thought he did. But man, yeah, I
would be frustrated as as a Falcons fan as well.
At least and since I have we have the excuse
of Burrow being out.

Speaker 1 (24:38):
Yeah, I mean this is I don't even know what
to do with this. I was the beneficiary of one
Parker Romo field goal on my fantasy team. By the way,
BK was scrambling for bodies, so the last minute he
went out and got Troy Franklin and Archie Harvey and
put him in his fantasy lineup. I want a week

(25:00):
to do it. I had him both sitting on my bench.
He was our old friend. BKA was starting Michael Pennis
Junior at quarterback. He didn't have any options. He goes
out there and throws RJ rvy A Troy Franklin in there,
and I was like, you gotta be kidding me. So
you lost again? I lost again. Shocker, shocking to no

(25:24):
one who has watching my fantasy team this week. It
is epically bad, just awful, Almost as awful as the
Atlanta Falcons and their ridiculous offense this week. It's not
frustration boil over for the Cleveland Browns. I think most
people have seen enough of Dylan Gabriel at this point.

Speaker 2 (25:45):
That one interception he threw me My god, It's like,
what is he even looking at?

Speaker 1 (25:51):
This is another game? Too, that defender. This is another
game where what are we doing? You got quin Shawn
Jenkins with nine carries, now he's injured, Dylan Gabriel throwing
the ball thirty five times, and Narrold Fannon had a
pretty good game. He just keeps throwing it to the Titans.
But it might be time to see what Shador's got

(26:13):
at this point, because Dylan Gabriel very clearly ain't it.

Speaker 2 (26:15):
I was just gonna ask you how many more weeks
until you put Shador in there?

Speaker 1 (26:18):
Like why not? Now?

Speaker 2 (26:20):
What are you waiting on? You've seen Gabriel for a
couple of games. Now maybe you give him a game
or two more just to see if he bounces back.

Speaker 1 (26:26):
But I think he got it.

Speaker 2 (26:28):
I mean before the draft next year, you need to
know if Shador can do anything for you.

Speaker 1 (26:34):
Meanwhile, the New England Patriots are out to six and
two on the season, and they hung thirty two on
that Browns defense. You see Miles Garrett throwing his helmet.

Speaker 2 (26:44):
Well, I can I can understand being frustrated. If you're
Miles Garrett, you go out now one a franchise record,
You don't five sacks.

Speaker 1 (26:50):
He doesn't get to be frustrated because he took all
the money.

Speaker 3 (26:54):
He had the.

Speaker 1 (26:54):
Opportunity to leave for something else. He knew what this was.
He knew exactly what it was. He took all the money.
Couldn't go out there and get because he took the money.
You're getting paid for this, bro, And yeah, you went
out there and put those put the five sacks on. Okay, cool,
but you knew what this was. You knew exactly what
this was, and you volunteered for it with the pay bump.

(27:20):
I'll be interested.

Speaker 2 (27:21):
You know, we have Shelby Harris on Koe Sports every Tuesday.
I'll be interested to see what he has to say
about this.

Speaker 1 (27:27):
Last week, he came out with some He had a
a little grown man hit there right there at the beginning.
He had some Shoby had some my lights in this one.
Uh pay the uh. The Eagles got the revenge on
the Giants and we saw I think everybody saw the
scatter bow injury. That was nasty. His leg was facing
like his ankle was just facing the wrong way. I
talked to somebody, I texted somebody up there, and I'll

(27:49):
tell you his bone was sticking out of the skin.

Speaker 2 (27:55):
Yeah, that dude's got to be so tough because like
right after he went down and you could see his
foot was facing the other direction. Yeah, all he did
was just a little pat on the helmet, like, hey,
I need to come out right, like no writhing and
pay the screaming. He was just like, I don't think
I come walk.

Speaker 1 (28:11):
I had to come out and put his put his
leg in an air cast. We're trying to sew him
back together. I'm still here for the bromance of dark
himc Oh did you see I mean, did you see
how upset, how distraught they were on the sideline and.

Speaker 2 (28:24):
Then the head headbutt each other after he was getting card.

Speaker 1 (28:27):
He's kind of the heart and soul of that, you know,
the energy of that of that team. And uh yeah,
we saw the Philadelphia Eagles win that one thirty eight
twenty Buffalo Boat Race Carolina forty to nine. They let
James Cook and that one over two hundred yards, right, Yeah,
I mean outside of Jonathan Taylor, I don't think there's
there's anybody playing the running back position as well right now.

(28:49):
Jk's up in that in that list though, But how
about Jonathan Taylor. Man when you have three more touchdowns
this week. Oh, we get that one a second Josh Allen,
though only twelve nineteen, one hundred and sixty three yards.
The passing offense is regressed week over week there in Buffalo,
and Buffalo fans are getting a little worried.

Speaker 2 (29:07):
He's missing on some throws that you don't normally see
him miss out right.

Speaker 1 (29:11):
That's one of those things where they they look at this.
I mean, thank god they've got the run game goal
right now, because the pass game week after week just
continues to look worse and worse. Andy Dalton look pretty cooked.
The red rifle couldn't get much going for the Carolina offense.
And it's weird to me. You got Rico dowdling there,
eight carries for fifty four yards, then you keep giving
you a Hubbard's the ball twelve carries only thirty four

(29:32):
yards a two point eight average.

Speaker 2 (29:33):
Rico' Downell started two games this year, and he's top
five in the NFL in rushing.

Speaker 1 (29:37):
And they keep the last two games, they keep giving
it to the Hubbard for no reason.

Speaker 2 (29:40):
I did see a story coming out of there today
that that could be changing in the upcoming weeks.

Speaker 1 (29:45):
Yeah, and it probably should. I mean, it's like that
with's that tweet with the could someone who understands economy
please help me budget? And then it's like I've got
subscriptions twenty dollars, food ninety dollars, candles thirty one hundred dollars,
something else twenty dollars. I don't where all my money's going.
You know that didn't meme or whatever it is. It's
it's great, one of those kind of situations. Baltimore. Uh,

(30:09):
they're gonna get in big trouble. By the way, for
the injury report, nonsense. They did probably facing a total
of a million dollars in fines. A million. Yeah, it's
it's I mean, dude, like it shifted the line at
sports books. There are people that bet on that report
that Lamar Jackson was healthy because he was a full participant,
when in reality, he was not a full participant.

Speaker 2 (30:29):
Well Ian on ko Ian Rappaport, our insider on KOA
Sports even said like, I was reporting that they were
only practice naps and somehow he was listed as a
full participant.

Speaker 1 (30:40):
Yeah, he was the one who busted him because he
was reporting that it was scout team and so that
was that was kind of an interesting or fascinating thing
because you had you know, Labmar Jackson was running the
scout team. You're not allowed to list starters who are
only running scouts. You know, a lot of this that
is full participation, that's not full participation. And so the
line went from five to seven, and people were betting

(31:03):
that because they thought Lamar was going to be playing.

Speaker 2 (31:07):
In our Pickham segment on Friday, I said, as Lamar
Jackson playing, you said, well, the line certainly looks like
he's played.

Speaker 1 (31:12):
That's what I'm saying, because it's like the from what
I understood, he hadn't hardly practiced. And then I saw
that report. I'm like, well, I don't know what to
do with this because, like I'm being told, he's not
gonna the line looks this way, so somebody believes it.
Well anyway, so a sportsbook's having a refund stuff. That's
that's a huge source of revenue, and you can't you
just can't do that. You can't play games with the

(31:34):
report like that. But they ended up ended up working
for him. Snoopotleey finished one hundred eighty six yards. Derrick
Henry had seventy one on the ground and two rushing
touchdowns and they ended up beating Caleb Williams and the Bears,
despite Williams having a pretty good passing performance. Although the
Bears end of game, I don't know if you saw
it was mind blowingly stupid. They were just eating up

(31:56):
time and then they got down to the one yard
line and tried to like win a minute and then
and then try to run it in and they got
stuffed and they just they It was ridiculous. Dj Moore
made this incredible catch to get them down to the
you know, to be able to score, and then they
just just blew it. They just absolutely look like they
didn't have a pass play and they're quick in their
hurry up game to to switch to at the goal line.

(32:19):
It was the weirdest thing watching that ending. It was
it was ludics, but Dj Moore had a forty two
yard reception that he got on his fingertips, just sprinting
out there to go get the ball. It was. It
was really cool catch. If you're a fan of cool
football players, whether you're rooting for, have rooting interests there
or not. All right, talking about the Texans and the
and the Niners, Tampa blew out the New Orleans. They

(32:40):
they turned to Tyler shut for a minute, and of
course you got the Colts here real quick, say Jonathan Taylor,
as you were talking about, just just a man among boys.
That twelve carries one hundred and fifty three yards, two
touchdowns on the ground, two catches for twenty one another
touchdown through the air.

Speaker 2 (33:00):
That eighty yard touchdown run was a thing of beauty. Yeah, Like,
I still don't understand how he stayed in balance the
entire time. Yeah, they're so good. He's he's just ridiculous.

Speaker 1 (33:11):
And Daniel Jones, I mean Daniel Jones sad with twenty
one to twenty nine, two seventy two or three touchdowns
and that feels pedestrian. Shane Steikeen is a mortal locke
for Coach of the Year.

Speaker 2 (33:19):
Oh, like, what would have They'd have to lose like
every game the rest of the way for him to
not win it.

Speaker 1 (33:23):
They're talking about firing him and Chris Ballard before the season.
They're out the seven and one with the best record
in the league. That offense looks unstoppable.

Speaker 2 (33:30):
Isn't it amazing how quality quarterback play can change the
outcome of your entire franchise?

Speaker 1 (33:35):
Even middling quarterback play. I mean, Daniel Jones is not
a world beater, but he's just a fit for what
they do. And he goes out there and just absolutely
makes him one hundred and thirty six. Quarterback reading just
makes everybody look stupid, right, It just makes mo stid.
The Titans continued to be hilariously adept. They're a joke.
What a joke? Brocos Country Night back after this
