Speaker 1 (00:00):
Brian Kelly fired at LSU ls who Over the weekend.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
That story was developing. I had that.

Speaker 1 (00:08):
So I'm down there at the game and I had
this story going on because I got people telling me
that they've they sent the staff home at LSU, all
the assistant coaches, they sent the staff home, and they
are in a conversation with Brian Kelly about his buyout,

(00:31):
which by the way, is fifty four million dollars. They're
going to pay him fifty four million dollars to not
coach at LSU. That's how serious they they take their
football down there. Brian Kelly was never a good fit
for LSU, and it was hilarious when he went down
there and faked the Southern accent.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
Like it's one thing. It's one thing to be a Yankee.
I'll tell you.

Speaker 1 (00:57):
I'll tell you this because I was a guy who
moved for the North up the South.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
It's one thing to be a Yankee.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
It's one thing to be a carpetbager, but it's quite
another thing to kind of like pretend like you're not.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
Like coming down there and faking Brian Kelly fake in.

Speaker 1 (01:16):
The Southern accent, which was utterly ridiculous, and Brian Kelly
has been kind of a piece of you know't what
for a long time. Let me tell you a story,
cold wintery night, Mount Pleasant, Michigan, two young coaches, one
named Matt Lafleur, one named Robert Sala were invited to

(01:42):
a party at the home of their boss, Central Michigan
University head football coach, Brian Kelly, except it turned out
they weren't on the guest list.

Speaker 2 (01:56):
They were there to work.

Speaker 1 (02:02):
They shoveled the snow, parked all the cars, and then
at the end of the night had to go get
the cars again.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
Brian Kelly invited assistants on his staff to come to
a party at his house to.

Speaker 1 (02:16):
Work, and I happen to know these guys went back
to their apartment they were grad assists at the time.
They shared an apartment, stood around their kitchen table, one
that didn't have any chairs because they couldn't afford him,

(02:37):
and decided and made a vow in that moment that
they would never treat their assistant coaches like that.

Speaker 2 (02:41):
Ever.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
Brian Kelly, when he was the head coach at Central Michigan,
had Bob Salad Matt Lafleur working for him, invited him
to a holiday party at his house, except they weren't there.

Speaker 2 (02:54):
For the party.

Speaker 1 (02:55):
They were there to park cars and shovel his driveway.
This is before Brian Kelly became Brian Kelly, well before
Notre Dame, well before LSU. That's the kind of guy.
Brian Kelly is the guy, you know, the guy who

(03:19):
shows up at a introductory conference, being introduced to a
new head coach at LSU, coming straight from Indiana, and
all of a sudden, he's got a fip drawl.

Speaker 2 (03:31):
You want to know more about Brian Kelly. I got
more about Brian Kelly.

Speaker 1 (03:33):
Brian Kelly was at the home of a recruit when
he found out he was getting the LSU job. He
went outside, took the phone call, came back inside, didn't
say a word, didn't betray any emotion anything, that continued
to try to recruit the kid, had the parents finished

(03:55):
cooking up the ribs, of which he had three helpings,
left without saying a word.

Speaker 2 (04:01):
Two hours later, and.

Speaker 1 (04:04):
Within fifteen minutes of him leaving the recruits house, the
reports started coming out to Brian Kelly was taking the
LSU job.

Speaker 2 (04:12):
That's Brian Kelly. We should have known.

Speaker 1 (04:19):
I think a lot of people should have known when
long time Brian Kelly assistants, I mean, the people that
have worked with him for a long time started bailing
over the last two years, bouncing other jobs.

Speaker 2 (04:31):
Should have known it was coming.

Speaker 1 (04:32):
When when even the people who have put up with
him the longest were like, no, bro, I'm done with you.
I'll take a lateral I'll take a lateral job somewhere else.
And the funny thing about it is just like, you know, yeah,
Brian Kelly's gone back.

Speaker 2 (04:49):
Yeah he sucks.

Speaker 1 (04:51):
Good riddance as he sits there counting his millions fifty
four million to not coach LSU.

Speaker 3 (04:58):
Second or just buy out in college football history. That's right,
And he's absolutely gonna get another job here quickly.

Speaker 1 (05:07):
Somebody will hire him. We've seen way way worse get
jobs immediately. But nobody's blaming Steve Woodward, the athletic director
at LSU. And for those of you wondering, Steve Woodward
is the same guy who is the athletic director at

(05:29):
Texas A and M who signed Jimbo Fisher to that
insane contract with the insane buyout that they had.

Speaker 2 (05:35):
The largest buy out there.

Speaker 4 (05:36):
You go.

Speaker 2 (05:40):
Yes, Steve Woodward has.

Speaker 1 (05:42):
Been responsible for the most wasted money through tenure, through
two different tenures as an athletic director at two different
SEC programs.

Speaker 2 (05:55):
They need to bounce.

Speaker 1 (05:56):
Him out of there too, and not let him be
involved in the hiring process.

Speaker 3 (06:01):
One hundred and thirty million dollars and buyout money between
jimbo Fisher and Bryan Kelly one hundred.

Speaker 1 (06:07):
Steve Woodward wasted one hundred and thirty million dollars and
somehow we'll fail upward. That story was just a ludicrous
because I was texting Dave Logan, who was calling the game,
about the Brian Kelly up to break.

Speaker 4 (06:26):
Bro.

Speaker 2 (06:26):
We got to get you into college coaching, man.

Speaker 1 (06:28):
Not that I don't think that you're not going to win,
but if you were to lose, it's going to be
okay for all of us.

Speaker 2 (06:34):
With these fifty four million dollars buyouts. Just for your
ten percent, I'm just saying three percent, We're good. We're good.

Speaker 3 (06:42):
Who's a hotter candidate going forward? Brian Kelly or James franks.

Speaker 1 (06:47):
Hands down, not even close. Neither one of them can
win the big one. But James Franklin is in a scumbag.

Speaker 3 (06:54):
Well, speaking of scumbags, did you see who was spotted
in Pennsylvania over the weekend?

Speaker 2 (07:00):
No, Urban Meyer, of course he was Corse. He was Oh,
pet State makes that move.

Speaker 1 (07:12):
Yeah, of course the home of uh Jerry Sandusky.

Speaker 2 (07:18):
Oh, by.

Speaker 1 (07:21):
Looking the other way on Jerry Sandusky's willing to look
the way. You know, if they're willing to overlook on him,
they're definitely over willing to overlook on Urban Meyer. Five six, six,
nine zeros of text line. I just yeah, texting Dave
during the because I got all this stuff coming in.
I'm like, we got this blowout that's going on right now,
but I've also got this crazy story going on. Brian

(07:45):
Kelly's the first LSU coach since before Nick Saban to
not win a national championship at LSU.

Speaker 3 (07:51):
Isn't that crazy? Les Miles ed or Jerro Coacho and
save Nick Saban? Yeah, all within their first four years. Yeah,
you gotta go. You gotta go back well into the nineties.

Speaker 1 (08:06):
You gotta go back into the nineties before you get
an LSU coach and then won a national championship.

Speaker 2 (08:11):
And I kind of knew. I mean, you could watch the.

Speaker 1 (08:12):
LSU offense over the last couple years and be like, yeah,
this isn't this is this ain't it. Brian Kelly's been
a guy who's you know, whose game is is sound,
but it beats up on the you know, it beats
up on weaker ad mid tier schools, but they're not
able to beat the the you know, the greats.

Speaker 2 (08:29):
Oh and they just got trounced by Texas A and M.

Speaker 3 (08:32):
Yeah, yeah, waxed by A and M. I mean their house.
I was so excited for that game. I was like, oh,
Death Valley on a Saturday night. They don't lose, this
is gonna be one of the best college games of
the year.

Speaker 1 (08:42):
Grant was betting that thing up the way I bet
up Cincinnati that of his Bengals on against the Jets.
Day Yeah, I was like, where day talking about my
dollars after Justin Fields has got his revenge on me
after all.

Speaker 2 (08:57):
But I mean it's not like LSU is lacking town.
You see, you know they got talent back. They at
the wrong quarterback there with nus Meyer.

Speaker 1 (09:04):
Like the people were trying to make that dude seem
like he's more than he was, but they got so much.

Speaker 2 (09:08):
Lucy had is a very talent rich state.

Speaker 1 (09:10):
It's one of the most talent rich states out there
outside of Texas, California and Florida.

Speaker 3 (09:15):
Lucy had is probably the next best state in terms
of P five and dude, Ohio, go look, Ohio's up there.

Speaker 1 (09:23):
But Ohio, like I'm telling you, Lousiana puts out in
an absurd amount. They are absolutely absolutely up there. And
you think about it, is like the front runners for
that job. You're probably going out and get the dude
from Tulane. See, he already knows the state. He's the
hell of a coach. Like, that's probably the direction you go.

Speaker 2 (09:46):
Hel us.

Speaker 1 (09:46):
You don't need to go out there and look for
a you know, look for another scumbag looking for coaching.
Rehab five six six one zeros text line thanks to
Parker Gabriel for.

Speaker 2 (10:00):
Joining us earlier, Steve Attwater as well.

Speaker 1 (10:04):
A couple of couple of texts coming in on the
text line asking about Dion's buyout a CEU and all
that kind of stuff. It's not even gonna be a
thing at this point, right now, right now, whatever you
think of the on field product, Colorado football generates money
and as long as Prime's willing to be out there,
they're willing to They're willing to keep him in there
right now because if he's not getting wins, he's generating money.

Speaker 2 (10:27):
Now that changes and then all of a sudden you're looking.

Speaker 1 (10:31):
At that, but right now that buyouts impossible for the school,
and he just generates too much money, Like they generate
too much money.

Speaker 3 (10:39):
And you can't forget how bad they were before he
got there. They were the bottom power five team in
the country. They had one win that no one was
going to the games. They've sold out home games for
the past three years. I mean, yes, winning matters, but
also just being relevant matters, and coach Prime is going

(11:02):
to provide that regardless.

Speaker 2 (11:04):
Of their winning loss record.

Speaker 1 (11:05):
Right, yeah, they are. I mean, if you're generating money,
you're generating money. You can't really you can't really blame
them at that point for that that they were. They
were they were left for dead. Program. Mike McIntyre was

(11:30):
the lone bright spot Colorado had had since Bill McCartney
was here. I mean, the Dan Hawkins era on if
we're being honest, let's go there. Let's let's be honest
and not use hyperbole. The Dan Hawkins era on this
program was dead Mike McCarthy. Mike McIntire was the lone

(11:52):
bright spot out of wall that mel Tucker and directly
those were brutally bad hires. Tucker for entirely different reasons.

Speaker 2 (12:03):
But a thief in the night. I've seen it, man,
I've seen it. Carl Durell, that was just dumb.

Speaker 1 (12:12):
Like when they made that, I was like, this is
a stupid like this is this is a stupid.

Speaker 3 (12:16):
Higher and they didn't like right after he left, they
changed all their academic standards to allow other recruits to
be able to come to see you and not have
to meet those same strict guidelines.

Speaker 2 (12:28):
And Carl Durell had none of that.

Speaker 1 (12:30):
Yeah, I mean the hire was bad to begin with,
and then he jumped into a situation that that was
untenable as far as Dean goes, I mean, Colorado's got attention,
They've got cachet, They generate money.

Speaker 3 (12:43):
Did you hear his lyne after the butt whoopon they
took wait to talk about whooped it harder than his mom?

Speaker 2 (12:48):
Yeah, let me play it if fire off.

Speaker 5 (12:51):
This is bad.

Speaker 6 (12:51):
It's probably the worst being I've ever had, except for
whom my mama whooped me as a kid. Four hundred
in two guys rushing. He ain't winning. You're not winning,
you know I winning. That thing was over so fast.
We hadn't even hit the ten minute mark. I think
in the first quarter. I was like, dude, they're cooked.

(13:15):
They're absolutely cooked in this game.

Speaker 3 (13:17):
I am glad. I spent zero time Saturday night watching
that game.

Speaker 4 (13:21):
I did.

Speaker 2 (13:21):
I watched about five minutes so that I was like, Nope,
we'll good. I know where this is.

Speaker 1 (13:25):
And I don't know how much longer they're going to
continue to generate money if they don't win, But for
right now, he's he's the safest safe guts because they've
got attention, they got cachet, and they're making money. The
minute that goes away, then you then you got questions,
you guts. I wonder when the bill comes due on wins,
is that is that next year? Like you have to start,
you gotta you know, Yeah, I think it's next year.

Speaker 3 (13:48):
I think if I'm cu I'm putting in Juju Louis
the rest of the year. See if we got a
guy that looks like he can be you know what
they expected him to be as a five star.

Speaker 2 (13:57):
Recruit, right, because I mean this year is done.

Speaker 3 (14:00):
Like Cayden Salter is not the guy obviously, right, He's
not what you thought you were getting coming from Liberty
and all the success there, So why not look to
the future, right.

Speaker 1 (14:11):
Yeah, I'm with you on that. I think they need
to make a change offensive coordinator. They need to they
need to see if you juse a guy. I think
Rob Lounston has done as good a job as he
can as a defensive coordinator former Bengal.

Speaker 2 (14:24):
Yeah, and who knows if he's even on the staff
next year, but.

Speaker 1 (14:27):
That yeah, But that's I mean, they've got to get
defensive recruits out there, and they've they've got to figure
out something to be a little bit better on offense,
and they've got to get the right quarterback. Salter was
meant to be a stop gap and that's really all
he is.

Speaker 3 (14:41):
But you're going back to coach Primes comments like, no
matter what you got on offense, you're giving up four
hundred and twenty two yards.

Speaker 1 (14:49):
You give a half that you're not with right, that
game was over? Like that game was so over at
the half, Like forty wasn't like forty three to nothing
at the or something like that. Mean, it was it
was just stupid.

Speaker 3 (15:03):
I mean, you tall could have scored to eighty points
on him, oh easily, easily.

Speaker 1 (15:08):
They took their foot off, they tried to take their
foot off the gas at the end of the first half,
and they still wound up blocking a punt.

Speaker 2 (15:13):
And they're like, all right, well, I guess we got
to score again, still got to play.

Speaker 1 (15:19):
Just ridiculous. And I think that whole that whole day
was just ridiculous. It's gonna be fascinating this coaching carousel,
because you've got a lot of good jobs open, and
you got a lot of coaches that are at their
alma maters that could leave for better jobs. You get
was it Clark Lee and are at the Vandy You've
got Jorgia Tech's head coach.

Speaker 2 (15:39):
I wouldn't leave either of those jobs. I wouldn't either.

Speaker 1 (15:41):
The expectation is nil, like you're never you know, yeah,
I mean, you know at Vandy you might have raised
the expectation too high.

Speaker 2 (15:47):
In the Diego Poppy area, but you know, hey, he.

Speaker 3 (15:50):
May get his nineteenth year of eligibility next year.

Speaker 1 (15:53):
I mean, Hoobby is a god love to have in
my NFL quarterback group. Not because he you know, I
mean like he doesn't have the arm for the NFL game,
but he's that dude. He's like Baker Mayfield if Baker didn't.

Speaker 2 (16:04):
Have the arm. He's certainly exciting to watch. He's fun.

Speaker 1 (16:10):
He makes football fun and he's one of those dudes
that you want your quarterback room because he's, you know,
a jack guy's up.

Speaker 2 (16:15):
It's a good thing. We got an f L six pack.
We come back Brookoles Country to.

Speaker 4 (16:18):
Night Cowboys blitz bow pumps once, throws a ball wide
open receiver, touchdown Denver. That is Troy Franklin. You couldn't
be more open in the middle of the field. He
went down to cradle it about a yard deep in
the end zone, gathered it in. Nicks pumped once and
then threw it and Franklin was all by himself. That

(16:40):
is a twenty five yard touchdown pass Knicks to his
college team mate, Troy Franklin and Denver in front thirteen
to three. Nick's a deep drop, looks left, throws a ball.
He's got Pat Bryant in the corner of the end zone.
Brian makes the catch, touchdown Denver twenty four yards and
Pat Bryant's first in fall touchdown reception was a beauty

(17:03):
facing four man pressure in the pocket, bounces around, protection
is good, throws wide open catch back of the end zone,
touchdown Denver Nicks to Franklin, and boy, the Broncos needed
that one. Twelve forty eight left. It's now Denver thirty
six Dallas seventeen. Franklin's second touchdown reception of the game.
Harvey and the flat, wide open Harvey gathers an end

(17:25):
tiptoes into the end zone, touchdown. Denver bow Knicks's fourth
touchdown pass of the game.

Speaker 5 (17:30):
And for R. J.

Speaker 4 (17:31):
Harvey that is his third touchdown, first by pass and
was seven to fourteen left in this one.

Speaker 5 (17:39):
It is all but over in the Mile High City.

Speaker 4 (17:41):
It's Denver forty three Dallas seventeen.

Speaker 1 (17:44):
All of the bon Knicks tuddies from yesterday's game against
Dallas guys is Debrouncos Country nine. Benjamin all right here,
Grant Smith back there producing as well, and it's time
for the NFL six pack.

Speaker 5 (17:56):
It is time for the NFL sixth pass insight and
inside information you can't find anywhere else the top six
NFL had mind what.

Speaker 2 (18:10):
Nmar I revealed.

Speaker 1 (18:11):
Broncos star corner Patzer Tan's got a pectorial strain. Their
any defensive player of the year is considered a week
to week, though obviously will not be playing against the
Texans this week.

Speaker 2 (18:21):
Possibility he could land on.

Speaker 1 (18:23):
Injured reserve, which would keep him out for four weeks
to Tan was injured on the cowboys next to last
play of the first half, on a seven yard reception
by George Pickens. He was seen working on his shoulder
aft play did not return to the field of his
teammates in the second half.

Speaker 2 (18:38):
Broncos initially listed him as questionable.

Speaker 1 (18:41):
He missed one play in the first half after injuring
the lower leg.

Speaker 2 (18:44):
Just looked like some man to walk off.

Speaker 1 (18:46):
His absence for however long, would be a bigger role
for Chris abrams Drain. First round pick Jatte Barrens made
one start, played twenty four percent of the defensive snaps.

Speaker 2 (18:55):
Which of these two would you most like to see.

Speaker 3 (18:59):
I want to see Chris abrams Strain. I think he's
done great in his limited opportunity. And I like Jade
Baron in the role he is in now, which is
even a bigger reason to have Chris Abramstrain fill in
for PS two.

Speaker 2 (19:12):
And I think he's fully capable.

Speaker 3 (19:14):
Like I said earlier in the show, I like the
depth of this team, especially in the secondary, and I think,
like you said earlier, this is good news for Riley
Moss because he is not going to be the one
that's targeted every single play because PS two is on
the other side. So I think we could see an
uptick in Riley Moss's production as well, less defensive penalties
on him. And I like Chris abrams Strain. I think

(19:36):
he is a ballfinder and he's a competitor, and I
think he's gonna do just fine if I'm the Broncos
I'm not putting PS two on ir, but I am
holding him.

Speaker 2 (19:45):
Out until after that bye week.

Speaker 3 (19:47):
Yeah, Detexans, Raiders Chiefs than the Bye than the Commanders.

Speaker 1 (19:51):
Yeah, it's probably the way you're looking at this, and
that's probably what you're looking It's gonna be a minimum
of two weeks.

Speaker 2 (19:56):
I'll tell you that right now, minimum of two.

Speaker 1 (19:58):
He's definitely missing the Texans, he's definitely missing the Raiders game.
After that, we don't know, but it's probably most likely
that he's back after the bye, but he's definitely missing
the next two I'll just spoil the surprise.

Speaker 3 (20:09):
And if you bring him back for the Chiefs game
and it's too early, yeah, I don't, and he completely
tears that peck, right, and then you lose to the Chiefs.

Speaker 2 (20:18):
Yeah, then you lose him for the season. That's just
a kid. That's a recipe for disaster. Yeah, exactly two.

Speaker 1 (20:24):
Vikings quarterback Carson Wentz is undergoing season ending surgery on
his left shoulder. In the fact that didn't happen two
weeks ago is the testament to his toughness. Wentz initially
hurt his non throwing shoulder in a Week five game
against the Browns in London. He was on the injury
report for two weeks, though he's a full participant for
five of the six practices and the limited one another.

(20:45):
He wore a bulky shoulder harness in the two games
he played with his injury. The extent of his injury
wasn't known until now, though and Ian Rappaport reported that
Wentz dislocated his shoulder and tore his labor him and
fractured the socket during the game in London, where the past.

Speaker 2 (20:58):
Two games Wentz.

Speaker 1 (20:59):
It completed fifty nine with four percent of his passes
for four hundred and fifty seven yards, one touchdown, three interceptions,
the Viking's what only two? You know, Winz was gutting
it out to protect two quarterbacks that the Vikings valued
more long term than they do him, but didn't believe
in enough to start short term.

Speaker 2 (21:16):
They would rather start.

Speaker 1 (21:17):
Carson Wentz with again a torn labor hm and a
fractured socket in his non throwing his shoulder which was
also dislocated, and it was it was weird to watch
because you could tell Wentz was just out there trying
to gut it out as as best he could.

Speaker 2 (21:32):
But I'm like, Buddy, I mean, even though.

Speaker 1 (21:34):
Max Brosmer looks like Pax to Lynch's stunt double, like,
surely one hundred percent of Max Brosmer has got to
be better than twenty percent of Carson Wentz.

Speaker 5 (21:43):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (21:43):
And I mean you saw Winz get tackled out a
bounds by play and JJ McCarthy hurdled the guys coming
at him, and he's out with an ankle injury. So
I'm just like, what are we waiting on with JJ
McCarthy here? I think that's the more worrying thing. Credit
to Carson Wentz for being such a tough guy. When
whatever you want to say about the Carson Wentz experience
at quarterback, you got to give him credit for be

(22:06):
at that top and playing through those injuries. But my
bigger worry a film a Vikings fan, is what's the
future look like with JJ McCarthy.

Speaker 1 (22:13):
Yeah, and I'm not even sure he's ready to go
back off the injury yet.

Speaker 2 (22:17):
Either.

Speaker 1 (22:17):
We might get Max Brosmer for a game before we
get him.

Speaker 2 (22:20):
We'll see maybe those sign Paxton Lynch. Well, I mean
they've already got a guy who looks like him.

Speaker 5 (22:24):
So three.

Speaker 1 (22:26):
Former NFL running back Adrian Peterson's remained in jail today
hrs with driving while intoxicated and unlawfully carrying a weapon.
Peterson was arrested Sunday morning in Sugarland, which is a
suburb of Houston and not in fact a gentleman's club.
It's the second DWIRS in seven months for Peterson, who
was the twenty twelve NFL MVP. He was still in

(22:48):
the Fort Finn County jail this morning. The three time
league rushing champion was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving
in Minneapolis and April afore he appeared in an NFL
draft party for Vikings fans. Speaking of Vikings police stopped
them for speeding the three time we got a rushing
cheb games fourteen nighteen yards heard, twenty touchdowns of fifteen seasons,
including ten with the Minnesota Vikings.

Speaker 2 (23:10):
This is a cry for help for Adrian Peterson.

Speaker 1 (23:12):
Two d wis and a span of eight.

Speaker 3 (23:15):
Months, and the poker fight with one of his buddies
apparently a couple of months before that. Yep, Yes, this
is a cry for help. This is what people do
that are battling addiction. They continue to make mistakes until
they correct them, or until someone tells them they need
to correct them. And I think this is a cry
for help. It's sad to see. You see it a
lot with former athletes when they're retired from the game.

(23:38):
One of the best players of all time, but he's
had plenty of off field issues. And I think two
arrests in seven months. I mean, you can, you can
kind of talk away one of these dwis, but when
you have two in such a short span, there's something
else going on.

Speaker 1 (23:53):
Yeah, it's to me, you know, two dwey is and
the span of a year. It means you didn't get
the message on the first one, and you know, well,
and you've got some Issuesson has had some issues following
him around over the course of his career.

Speaker 3 (24:06):
Yeah, and who knows if he is, you know, and
maybe he's not an addict, but regardless, he thinks he's
above the law. If that's the bare minimum of this story,
and he's finding out quickly that he's not.

Speaker 2 (24:18):
Poor Antonio Gates.

Speaker 3 (24:21):
Is denying any involvement in a rigged poker game following
a report over the weekend potentially linking the former football
star the ongoing gambling scandal that is wrapped up current
and former NBA players, including local Chelsea Phillips.

Speaker 2 (24:35):
Investigative sports shuts.

Speaker 3 (24:36):
Pablo Tory reported on Sunday at the Hall of Fame
tight End and hosted and participated and then allegedly rigged
game of poker in Miami organized by Curtis Meeks.

Speaker 2 (24:46):
Meeks is one of the more.

Speaker 3 (24:49):
Than thirty individuals indicted by the FEDS last week related
to a lengthy probe and do separate sports betting of
rigged poker games schemes.

Speaker 2 (24:56):
In a statement released to his business manager.

Speaker 1 (24:58):
Denise White, Gates deny the reports, saying quote, Antonio Gates
has not been involved, nor has he been accused of
any wrongdoing. Assertions to the contrary or false Without merits,
there will be no further comments on the matter. Gates
was not named in the indictment unsealed by federal prosecutors
last week, which did name Treble Azers coach Chauncy Billis
guar Terry Royzier, former NBA player David Jones, one of
the thirty plus alleged co conspirators that were arrested. Do

(25:23):
we believe that Antonio Gates is not involved even though he.

Speaker 2 (25:28):
Did host a game with Curtisbeaks.

Speaker 3 (25:30):
I mean, that's a pretty tough, pretty tough look there.
If you were hosting the game and you didn't know
anything about it, I want to believe him. Man. Antonio
Gates one of my favorite NFL players of all time.
Of course, he got to start in the maction playing
college basketball for Kent State. But man, it just seems
like everyone that they're naming has some guilt attached to him.

(25:52):
Whether it's how much or how little we'll see, but
I mean it does not look good.

Speaker 2 (25:57):
Yeah, it doesn't. And you know, Gates again. The associations.

Speaker 1 (26:01):
It's one of the things that you know, I will
tell you that that the or the NFL is trying
to do a better job of with these rookie symposiums
and being like, look, I know you got your crew
from back in the day. You want to bring everybody up,
but you're more likely to have these dudes bring you
down than anything else because you know they're going to
try to get over on the system and this is
what happened.

Speaker 2 (26:21):
You can't be associated with any of that or it
will catch up with you. You'll be that.

Speaker 1 (26:24):
You'll wind up being their fall guy out the other
way around.

Speaker 5 (26:27):
Five.

Speaker 1 (26:29):
The Baltimore Ravens expect Lamar Jackson to play Thursday night.

Speaker 2 (26:34):
No really uh.

Speaker 1 (26:35):
The practicing upot Practice reported the case that the team
estimated him as a full participate today.

Speaker 2 (26:41):
Jackson has missed the.

Speaker 1 (26:42):
Past three days the hamstring injury and returned to the
practice field last week, but his participation level became an
issue after the Ravens improperly listed him with a full practice.
The team changed the designation to limited when it ruled
him out on Saturday. They're expected to face a hefty
amount of fines both at coach John Harball and the
team team expects to me, he's a hefty amount of
fines for the chickannery, which moved the betting line from

(27:04):
five to seven and then back to two when ultimately
he was found out that Tyler Huntley was going to
be playing. John Harbass said he's very confident Jackson will
retard against the Dolphins.

Speaker 2 (27:13):
H Dolphins.

Speaker 1 (27:14):
The Ravens also estimated linebacker Teddy Buchanan Oflvin's attackle Ronnie
Stanley and corner TJ. Tampa and corner Nate Wiggins is
limited as well. What did you think of the Ravens
listing Jackson as a full participant despite scout team only
snaps and do we believe he's gonna play on Thursday?

Speaker 3 (27:31):
Well, I think it's ridiculous in this day and age
to think you're gonna pull one over on the NFL
like this and all the insiders like rap Sheet and
yourself that have all this information right at their fingertips.
So I think it was just a dumb move on
another top of more dumb moves from the Ravens and
Harball this year. But I think he will play this week,

(27:51):
and I think things look like they could work out
pretty well for the Ravens if they can get on
a hot streak. They don't have the toughest schedule ahead
of them, they don't have a to division and the
AFC North. You saw everybody lose in that division this week,
so I think they still.

Speaker 2 (28:06):
Have a path to the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (28:08):
If Lamar Jackson could stay healthy the rest of the year.

Speaker 1 (28:10):
They are the betting favorite. Despite having two wins two
and five on the season. They are the betting favorites
to win their division. It's minus money to bett on
them to win the division.

Speaker 2 (28:18):
That's just mind blowing.

Speaker 1 (28:20):
Meanwhile, you get to both the Steelers and the Bengals
ahead of them.

Speaker 2 (28:23):
At this point. It's just just goes to show what
people think of the Baltimore I just thought it was funny.

Speaker 3 (28:29):
I think the bigger story is that last week has
reported that they removed all ping pong tables and cornhole boards.

Speaker 1 (28:36):
Life is a yeah, life is a series of we're
adding or removing ping pong and video.

Speaker 2 (28:41):
You know, it's it's stupid. Who cares? That's a couple.
Wasn't a distraction when you were winning? Now it's a distraction, right,
it's it's it's symbolic.

Speaker 5 (28:49):
And it's goofy six.

Speaker 3 (28:51):
The Las Vegas Raiders have made it official receiver Tyler Lockett.
Las Vegas anounced the club it's signed Lockett today, a
day after Sports merged that he would be reuniting with
the coach Pete Carroll and quarterback Geno Smith. Lockett was
released by the Titans after he was not contributing much
on their offense. He caught just ten passes for seventy
yards through seven games. Caught six hundred and sixty one

(29:12):
passes for five and ninety four yards and sixty one
touchdowns at his ten seasons in Seattle, nine in which
he played under Pete Carroll as a corresponding move Raiders
wide receiver Justin Shorter. Shorter appeared in seven games this season,
playing five offensive snaps in eighty one special teams snaps.

Speaker 1 (29:29):
We expect any productivity out of Tyler Lockett.

Speaker 3 (29:33):
I think there'll be a little bit of productivity, but
I don't think it's gonna matter much for the Raiders
win lost total.

Speaker 2 (29:39):
I mean, I was so wrong about them at the
beginning of the year.

Speaker 3 (29:43):
I really thought Gino was gonna go there and play
well and you're gonna get a little Pete Carroll bump
with just the way he coaches.

Speaker 2 (29:49):
But man, they look bad.

Speaker 3 (29:50):
And how about Tyler Lockett requesting this trade from the
horrible Tennessee Titans and they grant his wish to go
to a team that's comparably bad in the Las Vegas
I guess Raiders, like he was probably thinking, Man, I'll
get on a team that maybe has a chance to
make a playoff push.

Speaker 2 (30:05):
And you go to the Raiders. Out of the frying
pan and into the fire. Yeah, but I still.

Speaker 3 (30:10):
Think he's got something left in the tank and reuniting
with Gino, I think he'll probably have a couple of
touchdowns and a couple of hundred yards receiving with them
by the end of the year. But like I said,
I don't think it's gonna matter. They they're not good.

Speaker 2 (30:22):
Yeah, the Raiders need something on offense. Gino's looked washed
all year.

Speaker 1 (30:25):
They've been unable to really get anything going offensively with
brock Bowers being out and it's it's just been, uh,
it has been rough going for the Raiders to the
Broncos get to take on the Raiders here, not next week?
But the week after, I think you catch them at
a catch them for a pretty good time.

Speaker 3 (30:42):
I believe when the Raiders will buy this week right,
I would have to check on that. I think they
were could be wrong on that they need one. They
felt like they were on by if they did play,
they didn't play well.

Speaker 2 (30:52):
I just yeah, they think they were by.

Speaker 1 (30:57):
They got the Jags coming up this coming week, so
that'll be interesting to both teams. Teams of Broncos have
to play later on this year.

Speaker 3 (31:04):
Broncos got to win both those games against the Raiders
this year, Oh yeah.

Speaker 1 (31:08):
You've got to And you know, honestly the most important
game remaining. People are gonna say, Kansas City, you gotta
go win is you got to get a win over
the Chargers. We don't have a win over our ball.
We donet went over the Chargers in the Chempayne era.

Speaker 2 (31:18):
Should have had it the earlier this year. Should have
wind have cut him.

Speaker 1 (31:21):
Broncos Country Tonight rolls on after this, you know part
went out
