Speaker 1 (00:00):
Actually you're sent me a gift. It is not pronounced jiff.
It's a gift. On Sunday after Justin Fields got his first.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
Win, all this again, you guys, hey, it was an
important change in the taally of the scores, and you.
Speaker 3 (00:16):
Wanted to let know right after then then his Fields
so humble about his victory laps, man, I mean, Russell
will send it through three touchdowns in week two to
tie it.
Speaker 1 (00:28):
He's never led the whole time. And I had a
week of Ben victory lapping every single day. I like
a in a you know, just taking a dump on him, honestly,
and so.
Speaker 2 (00:38):
I vowed that day, you know, if if wine I'm victorious,
I'm gonna parade myself around here.
Speaker 4 (00:46):
So after Ben taking a dump on you, his words,
not mine, with this whole metaphorical little metaphorically speaking.
Speaker 1 (00:53):
So now metaphorically speaking.
Speaker 2 (00:55):
I'm doing a trump. I'm taking the fighter jet, I'm
flying over and.
Speaker 5 (01:00):
I'm look and in only eight tries to I mean,
you know, you really really don't kind of headed to him,
but uh yeah, he find these on the board with
a win one nothing, so it would take it now
a Jackson Dart injury for me to in any way
possibly recover.
Speaker 2 (01:20):
It does say something that Justin Fields won the starting
wins bet at one to nothing, and that in and
of itself speaks for you how bad this bet was
in the beginning.
Speaker 1 (01:29):
It seems as though that's Zach. If you wanted to.
Speaker 4 (01:34):
Because proverbialus speaking, Ben said he dumped on you, you can
now send him a gift emoji of toilet paper.
Speaker 5 (01:43):
The guy sliding, he's liked.
Speaker 1 (01:48):
It was definitely it was. It was definitely shouting. So
you get a chance to get it, Zach.
Speaker 5 (01:54):
Was it you that I saw on Twitter earlier that
had the stat about Bow and c J.
Speaker 1 (01:58):
Stroud and the total touchdown? No, but I'll find that
for you. Well, it's it's fine, we'll get into that.
Speaker 4 (02:06):
Is this a comparison of the two quarterbacks in this
same year?
Speaker 5 (02:08):
It was, And somebody was grousing about Bo not getting
his flowers or whatever on that, which you know, fair
that he and CJ had similar numbers in similar amounts
of games, you know, with touchdowns.
Speaker 1 (02:21):
And I don't remember who was off the top of
my I think it was Larry maybe.
Speaker 5 (02:25):
Anyway, as I was looking at it, I was like, look,
why does it bow get the respect on this is
because twelve of those fifty total touchdowns have come in
three games, two of which were against the worst defenses
I've ever seen, and the other was against Kansas City's
backups at the end of last season when they were
resting them.
Speaker 1 (02:39):
For the playoffs. That's why he doesn't get the flowers.
Speaker 4 (02:42):
You know, I'm glad you brought this up because I
didn't send this topic in, but it just seemed as
though Osmosis won't we on the same page because earlier
this week, you know, the NFL does this thing where
they look at the previous week and talk about top performers.
Speaker 1 (02:57):
Right and on this list, I'm.
Speaker 4 (02:58):
Gonna give you the guys right now, tought r Je.
Speaker 1 (03:00):
Harvey on the rookie one.
Speaker 5 (03:01):
By the way, Yes, so it's all we're gonna takeing
a dump on somebody, which.
Speaker 1 (03:05):
Brings up a very interesting question.
Speaker 4 (03:07):
So you had Drake May, Jordan Love, sa Kwan Barkley,
you had James Cook, Breese Hall, and Jonathan Taylor, right,
So those were the six guys.
Speaker 5 (03:18):
Breese Hall the if I'm not mistaken, the only quarterback
in the Jets game through toutched out.
Speaker 2 (03:23):
Just check it on that Yes, no, Fields called the
look kind of crazy because they were thy nine points.
Speaker 1 (03:29):
I don't want a short change and because clear that
God did on talent.
Speaker 4 (03:32):
But right, But here's the thing. I noticed the fact
that there were six guys. I don't know why they
don't put a seven or make you round it out
at eight. But Bo Nicks was not on that list.
And it got me to the thinking, And you tell me,
should Bow have been on that list?
Speaker 5 (03:50):
I mean probably, like my caveat about Bow, like absolutely
blowing the doors off terrible defenses like Dallas or Atlanta
last year, or you know, or Kansas City's backups.
Speaker 1 (04:00):
He still went out there and did it. Like, you
can't take that away from him. He still went out
there and performed.
Speaker 4 (04:05):
But you were looking at that and saying, okay, because
that was against maybe the Dallas defense was what was
one of the worst, and the Bengals defense that that
should have happened.
Speaker 1 (04:14):
So no, we're not gonna put him on the list.
Speaker 5 (04:16):
Well, I'm I mean, I think that's wrong. You can
only play the team put in front of you every week. True,
you know, it's like like Bo ditches out here making
the schedules and you know what, I'm gonna schedule myself
and he gotta want to get to Dallas mid season.
Speaker 1 (04:28):
But what I'm saying like, you can't hold that against him.
Speaker 5 (04:31):
Like I get why people don't want to put ball
in the same echelons as CJ because you know, in
a similar number of game, similar number of touchdowns, because CJ,
you know, had to do it against.
Speaker 1 (04:40):
And I guess you could throw out.
Speaker 5 (04:41):
That CJ was doing against Jacksonvill twice a year if
you wanted to, if you want a counter argument.
Speaker 1 (04:45):
But that's that's where that is.
Speaker 5 (04:46):
You can only play the team's put in front of you.
Speaker 1 (04:49):
So I mean, yeah, you.
Speaker 5 (04:51):
Know, on the one hand, yeah, Bo gotta gotta give
you against We're gonna call them Alice's defense because there
was no deed if he you know, happened in there.
Speaker 1 (04:59):
But it's a.
Speaker 5 (05:00):
Same time, like I sort of get when twelve of
your fifty one touchdowns or whatever have come against, When
percent of your touchdowns come against.
Speaker 1 (05:09):
In three games, that's sort of that's not great. No,
it's not.
Speaker 4 (05:16):
And this is where when you talk about this position,
quarterback specifically, this is the thing that drives a ways
through so many individuals nationally and locally, especially from a
fan base standpoint, because every fan base field as though
their quarterback is deserved. But then we start breaking it
(05:36):
down looking at who you're playing against. There's an argument
to say, well, you didn't play against the most elite
talent in that particular game where you just threw for
an ungodly amount of numbers or yards. But also, like
you said, you can only play the teams that are
put in front of you, which always makes this debate
very interesting. But as it retains to this particular time,
(06:00):
up did the league put out there as far as
you know, they performed some of the guys on there,
Well well, well, well hold on, now, Ben, hold on,
now see this.
Speaker 1 (06:08):
This is where things get a little cloudy.
Speaker 5 (06:10):
You get a little micro macrol argument because like, in
a micro sense, I'm like, how do they shaft.
Speaker 1 (06:13):
Bow this week?
Speaker 5 (06:14):
And then in a macro argument, I'm like, yeah, okay,
but also these other things he doesn't deserve to be
in that conversation. Overall, Well, it makes things really really
interesting because when you think about what Breys Hall did
as a running back, right.
Speaker 1 (06:26):
Eighteen carries one hundred reserving on that list.
Speaker 5 (06:30):
They both had ridiculous days, right, I mean Sakon had
fourteen carries for one fifty.
Speaker 4 (06:34):
Yeah, so, and knowing how as though running backs are
so devalued.
Speaker 1 (06:40):
In this league. It's like, do you put.
Speaker 4 (06:44):
Maybe any of the quarterback performances, including Boat over those guys,
knowing how difficult it is to play running back.
Speaker 1 (06:51):
You guys under Drake May had a decent day. Who
the other guys under?
Speaker 4 (06:54):
Well? Okay, well, James Cook had nineteen carries for two
to fifteen. He had a day, right, he had a day.
Jordan was twenty nine to thirty seven, three sixties and
three touchdowns.
Speaker 1 (07:06):
That's I'm just saying, man, it is tough. It's utterly ridiculous.
And then you think about Drake May.
Speaker 4 (07:12):
Eighteen to twenty four, two ninety two, three touchdowns, one interception.
Speaker 5 (07:18):
Yeah I don't know though, but bo well he did
throw that pick up the beginning of the game.
Speaker 1 (07:22):
Right, So we have this conversation.
Speaker 4 (07:24):
It's tough, man, It's so tough what decides it because
you have to choose, Like if I told you the
listening audience and Zack Segers, young Zack Segers, if I
gave you all those players and I just listened it
out to you their stats, and you have one vote.
You can cast it for one person and one person
only and listen. For the sake of what we're doing
right now in this exercise, let's throw bull knicks into it.
Speaker 1 (07:46):
Who are you voting for? And now let me give
you Let me give you the number the names again.
Speaker 4 (07:51):
You got Drake May, Jordan Love, Saquon Barkley, Jonathan Taylor,
Breize Hall, and James Cook and our own bone Nicks.
Speaker 1 (08:02):
You got one. That's a tough I'm probably player of
the week from last Sunday.
Speaker 5 (08:08):
I'm probably voting for Brice Hall because I mean, to
be honest with you, quarterback and their running back.
Speaker 1 (08:13):
It was it was the winner. I mean offense on
his shoulders. They got nothing else there.
Speaker 2 (08:20):
Fenn's trying to retroactively take away this justin fields win
and get the three.
Speaker 5 (08:28):
All right, Look, I'm probably putting it on Jonathan Taylor
if I'm being honest, without without the field jokes, and
I'll probably give it John.
Speaker 1 (08:34):
Where are you going with Zach? I like that answer
a lot.
Speaker 2 (08:37):
If I was gonna go quarterback, I think I would
go Drake May.
Speaker 1 (08:40):
He did it.
Speaker 2 (08:41):
That's that's what I understand. I'm saying, I think Jonathan
Taylor's good. I'll throw another name out, Drake May. I
would probably go Jonathan Taylor too. I think Drake May
has a better case than bothough because the stats are
very comparable. I don't think he had the blemish of
an interception, and he did it against the vaunted Brown's defense,
whereas Bo did it against the worst defense in the NFL.
Speaker 1 (08:59):
That'd be the tie break for me. Well, I would
have to say is I would say this is really rare.
Speaker 4 (09:05):
But for today, I'm gonna I'm gonna agree with Ben
because I'm gonna go John Taylor, who's been the most
impressive guy all season.
Speaker 1 (09:14):
Long at any position, season long or a week long.
Aw I'm saying season long. I'm saying season long right now.
Speaker 4 (09:23):
But as this exercise we're having right now, I'm just
looking at last Sunday's performance, right even just looking at
last Sunday's performance, I'm still going to go Jonathan Taylor
because it's extraordinary what he's doing. As though he is
a running back, one of the more well the most
devalue position in the league, and it's how he's doing it,
(09:48):
how he's doing. I mean, you throw it to him
in the flat, he's running through, around and over.
Speaker 1 (09:53):
Got Taylor would be.
Speaker 5 (09:54):
If we're doing season long, it's definitely Jonathan Taylor for
me in that in that regard for the week, I
would go I would have gone for Taylor. But there
have been some debate we're going to season long. There's
not even a debate. I mean, I wouldn't even put
the bow wouldn't even be in the top ten quarterbacks
in the league this year. Like all with all due
respect to what Bo has done, and it's not like him,
it's not it's like what Sam Darnold's and Daniel Jones
(10:16):
and Drake May and guys like that are.
Speaker 1 (10:18):
Doing right now.
Speaker 5 (10:19):
I mean, my goodness, like, I don't know that. I
don't know that you could put Bowl in the same
breath there. And that's not to take away from bow knicks.
But yeah, for season long, nah, I.
Speaker 4 (10:29):
Mean, listen, Bo is a very talented player, and as
the weeks go on, we get we get a chance
to see Sean Payton open up the offense a little
more and allow Bow to really play the way that
I see he can play based on his skill set
and if he is allowed to do that more now
he enters into this conversation.
Speaker 1 (10:50):
Whcause when you think about what.
Speaker 4 (10:51):
Drake may is doing with the Patriots, right, obviously Josh
mcdames is there, he's a better coordinated then he is
a head coach. And Drake may is playing fantastically and
he looks like the guy who everyone thought he was
going to be coming out of North Carolina, you know,
being able to throw the ball down the field in
(11:13):
a vertical passing game. But once again, it's not a
slight to Bowl. It's just for me, it's just it's
real talk. I will play the Devil's advocate here for
a minute.
Speaker 5 (11:20):
Okay, go ahead, because we don't have more.
Speaker 1 (11:22):
Now.
Speaker 5 (11:23):
We were having this talk about Baker Mayfield potentially being
in the MVP conversation for the last couple of games, right,
and a lot of that was because he led the
NFL and fourth quarter comebacks and game winning drives.
Speaker 1 (11:32):
He's got four of each Leed's league. You know, there's
number two on that list.
Speaker 5 (11:36):
It's Bowl Bow has three fourth quartercom backs, three game
winning drives.
Speaker 1 (11:39):
He's number two on that list.
Speaker 5 (11:41):
So if we're going to talk about the impact and
quarterback has in a meaningful way in terms of winning
football games in crunch.
Speaker 1 (11:48):
Time where it matters.
Speaker 5 (11:50):
Now, all of a sudden, you got to put him
back in the conversation.
Speaker 1 (11:52):
A little bit.
Speaker 4 (11:53):
Okay, so let me go reverse Devil's advocate here.
Speaker 1 (11:58):
Here's here's what the counter argument would be.
Speaker 4 (12:02):
Yes, Bo has done that rightfully, so give him all
the credit in the world. But some of these other
quarterbacks they don't have an elite defense to back them
up like Bo has to get the stops, shut people
out inside the red zone, get off the field, and
third down. That would be the counter argument to the
argument you present it.
Speaker 5 (12:23):
Yeah, and I would say there's definitely truth to that.
I mean, I'm just you know, if you want to
go with you want to go those.
Speaker 1 (12:28):
Kinds of things.
Speaker 5 (12:28):
Both third in the NFL and passing touchdowns third, I
mean it's a tie for second third. Yeah, he's third
in the NFL in passing touchdowns. Now, he's got more
interceptions than just about everybody in that group. I think
the only uh, I think the only person with more
interceptions than him is is Tua, who has like can
of them. But he's he's in that you know. Actually,
(12:50):
Herbert has seven but they you know, in that touchdowns group.
I mean, he's up there in touchdowns, he's playing. Well,
I'm not trying to take away from I'm sure that
I try to take away from him.
Speaker 1 (12:59):
I just don't see.
Speaker 5 (13:00):
I'm just not sure that there's a way to massage
an argument that he should be in that MVP conversation.
Speaker 4 (13:08):
Well, the only way to do that is to change
the narrative and what I mean by that. Up until
this point, we've seen the Broncos defense. Someone be the
identity of the organization, right, Am I right or wrong
in that?
Speaker 1 (13:24):
Okay, So here's what needs to happen. PS two is
now out.
Speaker 4 (13:29):
We know there's gonna be some changes made on the
defense to somewhat account for the production slide because he's
not there. Because now you can't say, well, we're gonna
shut down one third.
Speaker 1 (13:40):
Of the field. That now is going out of the window.
Right now, you.
Speaker 4 (13:44):
Got to compete against a whole horizontal plane. Right now,
here's where bow Knicks can take his game to a
next level and be in that conversation. While PS two
is out, the Broncos win every single game. Right bow
has little to no turnal, and we keep his attempts
in at thirty raigns not fifty.
Speaker 1 (14:05):
But that's a tough ass.
Speaker 5 (14:06):
I mean, he's gotta be out three to four games,
but I mean not what quarterbacking is in the league.
Well yeah, I'm just saying, like three or four games
and winning every game.
Speaker 1 (14:14):
We're hitting the meat of this sketch. Like this is
the Texans.
Speaker 5 (14:16):
The Broncos have had the easiest defenses against schedule in
the league up till now, and now.
Speaker 1 (14:22):
They placed it and the next week we got one
of the toughest defenses, if not the toughest defense in
the league. This is how you change the narrative. You
go out there, you beat C. J.
Speaker 4 (14:31):
Shrout in that bolted Texas defense, and then you follow
that up right, obviously, you got the Raiders in there,
you got the Chiefs in there, and you're talking about
getting Bow in the MVP conversation.
Speaker 1 (14:42):
Raiders in that game. But it's it is entirely possible.
Speaker 5 (14:46):
And I don't want to be doing gloom Guy because
of the wet blanket thing, I mean and all that whatever,
But like I don't want to be doing glue Guy.
But the next four games, like they could win. Maybe
there's a real scenario where you win one of those one.
Speaker 1 (14:57):
Yeah, you've got I mean you can, LOUI. I'm just excuding.
That's a boots, a blanket on the fire, a Dalston Kerosene.
Speaker 5 (15:08):
But there's a real scenario, I mean, for being real,
for being honest for just a second, and it's entirely
possible they could win all four. But there's there's a
real scenario here where the only game you win is
a Raiders game. You could very easily lose to the
Texans in Houston early, you could very easily lose to
Kansas City.
Speaker 1 (15:23):
You could very easily lose to Washington in Pronti, although
that one's probably a little less.
Speaker 5 (15:27):
But they're gonna have Jade and Daniels back by that point,
they think, and you know, and Terry McLaurin might be back,
you know, at that point as well. So there's a
real scenario where you go one and three. There's a
real scenario where you go three and.
Speaker 1 (15:38):
One four in all.
Speaker 4 (15:39):
But this is why to answer your question about bo
in the MVP conversation, Because you just talked about why
you fell a guy like Baker Mayfield within the conversation,
we already know seeing it every single week. Why Daniel
Jones is in the conversation, right for Bo to get
in that conversation, he now has to show with he
(16:00):
has to out. The offense is now taking charge. We
are now running you know, smart set right he came
up as smarted.
Speaker 1 (16:09):
Yeah, right, But.
Speaker 5 (16:12):
I don't like if that's the case. I don't necessarily
want Bo to be the MVP. I want this team
to keep winning games. And they keep winning games. Is
to is to continue to elevate the ground game, is
to continue to elevate the defense.
Speaker 4 (16:22):
Okay, tell me why both of those things can happen
at the same time.
Speaker 1 (16:25):
They can.
Speaker 5 (16:25):
I'm just saying I don't want both throwing fifty times
of games and pad and the stats. I want us
to win the football game on the ground that we're
at our back.
Speaker 4 (16:32):
If Bo is doing fifty times a game, that me
and went wrong, something went wrong theron, that means the
Broncos are trailing and they gotta throw.
Speaker 1 (16:38):
The ball to get back into the game. Sometimes sometimes
you don't like we throw the ball. We don't have to.
Speaker 5 (16:42):
You could be down two scores in the third quarters
still be running the ball like there's enough time left
in football. The problem is offensive coordinators get too tight.
They start they in the road, I gotta throw, and
then they wound up placing themselves in negative V situations.
Speaker 4 (16:55):
Very true, and luckily the Broncos built that confidence, albeit
at a very mediocre And that's me being you know,
polite Dallas Cowboys defense. The Broncos ran the ball, so
they prove to themselves if they stick to it and
it is consistent and you don't build on it, this these.
Speaker 1 (17:16):
Are the fruits that you can bear.
Speaker 4 (17:19):
Yeah, and if they do that, Bo is not throwing
fifty times a game because if he is, he's now
under duress the opposing defense.
Speaker 1 (17:28):
Non, they don't have to worry about the run game. Yeah,
I just yeah, you don't think it's possible. I think that.
Speaker 5 (17:36):
I think that we need to stick with the formula
that's working, and the formula that's working is run the ball,
play great defense, and use that to open up our
chances in the past game.
Speaker 1 (17:44):
And I'm not worried if All gets MP. If he
doesn't get MVP.
Speaker 5 (17:47):
That interests me a lot less than home playoff games
and being a contender.
Speaker 1 (17:52):
I know Bo's not concerned with that. The Broncos are not.
Speaker 5 (17:55):
But if Bo, if he gets in the MVP conversation,
I mean, you're never gonna hear the end of it
on social media like like we're when people are throwing
up wu tang at your plans and stuff like that,
like you know, and fine, I'm so here for it.
Speaker 1 (18:10):
But like the thing in the in the order of
priority to me.
Speaker 5 (18:15):
Like bo Nicks being in the MVP conversation, I don't
even think that's in the first ten or fifteen things
like that just doesn't even register to me.
Speaker 1 (18:22):
I totally understand that. But for me, I think both
things like hey, yeah, I mean we'll see.
Speaker 5 (18:29):
I think this week is a real test, Like we're
getting a real defense this week. We've had a few
decent defenses that we played so far, but this is
a real defense.
Speaker 1 (18:37):
I mean, it's a number defense in the NFL.
Speaker 5 (18:38):
It is like, let's be honest. I know we think
we are, but statistically they are in their house in
an early game like that. This is gonna be this
is a real litmus test here. You check this box
because you already knocked off.
Speaker 1 (18:50):
The top offense.
Speaker 5 (18:51):
You check that box, you know your defense is legit.
We know that now, right If we even if we
did already knew it, we know it now. It's it's
the battle was fun.
Speaker 1 (18:59):
And they do that.
Speaker 4 (19:00):
Guess what's happening now we got the other what's happening
many if they pull it off, you know what's happening.
Speaker 1 (19:04):
Oh, at this point, you're a contender. If this we were.
Speaker 5 (19:10):
And it's and the offense is able to put it
to that defense, you're a contender, and it's time to
start talking contender at that point. And that might be
that might sway me a little on maybe trying to
pursue some some kind of acquisition type stuff, whereas I've
been more or less against that. To day we hit
a break, we'll be.
Speaker 1 (19:25):
Back in for this Ka. It comes from a hotline though.
I'm bringing our guy, Paul Chargion. Paul, Uh, you know
how it is.
Speaker 5 (19:37):
I'm begging for receiver help as it was last week.
Uh you know we we I thought I had it.
My buddy goes out, either my opponent goes out, and
uh there was a flyer on Troy Franklin and r J.
Harvey just buries me. I went in to a flyer
on Kvane Kanante Turpin and I got nothing out of it.
I'm sitting here. I'm sitting here having an all time
(19:57):
bad season. We had a players only meeting. They told
me they were gonna and you're stinking for me? What
what help? What help have you?
Speaker 4 (20:03):
Sir?
Speaker 6 (20:05):
I can try to help, but you know, okay, we're
gonna do this every week.
Speaker 1 (20:08):
I need some guidance on this.
Speaker 6 (20:10):
When I talk to other people about you, Ben slash Benjamin,
they always call you Ben, but then you just called
yourself Benjamin online your Benjamin?
Speaker 1 (20:18):
What do you want? Do you want ben? Do you
want Benjamin? Uh? You know, I go to anything.
Speaker 5 (20:23):
Hey you uh, you know, jerk wad whatever it's, whatever
comes to mind.
Speaker 1 (20:26):
I'll answer to any of it, all right? That word?
And Nick? Can I just call you Nick? Hey? That's
not my mean? Mister Ferguson, if you're if you're nasty.
Speaker 6 (20:35):
You know, I guess when you when you've been doing
this as long as he has, you can do that.
Speaker 1 (20:40):
How about this? Is it?
Speaker 6 (20:41):
You want a darth Row guy. Here's your darth throw guy, right,
Jimurray d K.
Speaker 1 (20:47):
And now you might.
Speaker 6 (20:48):
Be asking yourself who is jimiri DK? He is a
the Tennessee rookie receiver sient. You asked for a deep
receiver available, and mostly he's available in ninety five percent eleits.
He is the Tennessee rookie receiver who has gotten this
huge up tick spike in yardage the last couple and
used in the last couple of weeks.
Speaker 1 (21:07):
Goes up against the Chargers, which is a neutral matchup,
but we're you know, Tennessee's going to be behind.
Speaker 6 (21:11):
They're gonna have to pass a lot like they do
every game. And Shamiri Dka is a submergent guy.
Speaker 1 (21:15):
Who's available in a lot of leagues. The other one
that you could you could.
Speaker 6 (21:18):
Throw a dart at is Darnald Mooney for Atlanta. He
did nothing last week without Drake London. But they swear, honestly,
they promise that Darnell Mooney is going to be better
and that he's going to be heavily used in this
offense now. So there's a couple of guys that are
available mostly so you could pick up and get a
start out of them.
Speaker 4 (21:34):
You know, it's always interesting from week to week trying
to be a fantasy manager, because I mean, some of
your best guys may not even show.
Speaker 1 (21:41):
Up, but they may get injured.
Speaker 4 (21:43):
I mean, this past Sunday we saw Ceedee Lamb and
George Pakins, who I thought were going to have great days,
and even Jake Ferguson, those guys would kind of shut out.
Is there a matchup this week that you're leaning more
towards and you say, okay, well, fantasy owners to make
sure that they have their players available for this particular game.
Speaker 6 (22:01):
Well, yeah, I mean, you know you can always pick
on Dallas.
Speaker 1 (22:05):
This is the easy one.
Speaker 6 (22:06):
You just saw it up close to you know, so
you know that that's a possibility. Marvin Harrison potentially sitting
on a really nice game. And the guy for the
Cardinals that you can pick up right now that has
a chance to do a little something is their lead
running back for the Cardinals is going to be Bam Night,
also available in more than half of league's And you
(22:27):
just saw this Dallas defense. The Dallas defense so bad.
We mentioned this going into last week's game. They are
on pace to give up the second most yards and
second most points all time history of the NFL in
a single season. That's that Cowboys defense right now. Your
team has to go has to flip the script entirely
(22:49):
and go up against one of the best defenses in
the league this week, and so this is going to
be a much sterner test and we're gonna find out
which version of bo Nicks we're gonna get.
Speaker 5 (23:00):
Yeah, that's something I think we're all looking forward to
here in Denver. And I'm with you that Dallas defense
might have been the worst I've ever seen in person. Ever,
that that was certainly something we renamed him the Alice
Cowboys because there was a lot of hint of a
d to be found anywhere, you know, speaking of not
a hit to be found. Back to my lineup here,
I've got three running backs. I've got Tyron Tracy, Romandra Stevenson,
(23:22):
Alvi Kamara and you can imagine how little scoring I'm
doing with those three. That that triumviriage in and of
itself might have brought down Rome with his lack of scoring.
But as I as I look at this, I'm trying
to figure out what I can do. Is there anybody
you just mentioned, Bam Night? Is there anybody else besides
y Media brischard Smith. Is De Marcado even worth playing
in Arizona? Is there anything else? Because Slodia has already
snatched up.
Speaker 6 (23:43):
Yeah, De Marcado is my sneakiest sleeper of the entire weeks.
I'm glad you brought him up. Now, this is, of
course the kid that dropped the ball before the end
zone and cost Arizona. That's humiliating loss a month ago,
and then he got hurt and then they went on by.
But now they're all healthy and it's Dallas and so
a Mari de Mericado is is not an out of
the realm sleeper. So I'm glad you brought his name up.
(24:06):
And out of the group of players that you just
mentioned they're available, I would prefer him. Brishard Smith's gonna
get some extra work. I'm glad you brought him up
in Kansas City because Isaiah pa Checo.
Speaker 1 (24:14):
Is going to miss what is probably going to be
a month of time.
Speaker 6 (24:17):
Unfortunately, Buffalo in sneaky fashion giving up the third most
fantasy points to opposing running back. So Brashard Smith also
a deep dart throw that you could pick up.
Speaker 4 (24:28):
So looking at the Chicago Bears, obviously they're looking to
bounce back.
Speaker 1 (24:32):
And as again Joe Flacco and.
Speaker 4 (24:34):
That Cincinnati defense, I'm not gonna say the Cincinnati defense
is as bad as the Cowboys defense, but they're pretty awful.
So is this a game where you can say, well,
this is a get right game for Ben Johnson and
Kleb Winn And if so, are we looking at Dj
Moore finally kind.
Speaker 1 (24:52):
Of putting up some stat numbers. I think we lost Paul. There,
no will I'm back. Oh, there we go, There we go.
I thought we lost you, Paul.
Speaker 6 (24:59):
Go ahead, Well you did because I misclicked and I
hung up and I rejoined. Yeah, I'm glad you're asking
about Chicago. They are in a panic in Chicago about
their quarterback Caleb Williams. The viability of Caleb Williams has
been a NonStop talker since he's been drafted, and confidence
is at an all time low right now. But here
comes the Cincinnati Bengals. This is a team allowing the
(25:22):
third most fantasy points to quarterbacks. DJ Moore, though has
been relegated in many ways to really a secondary target.
Roma Dunesa is the guy that this offense really pivots
around through the air. We love Roma douonsay, this is
a fantastic matchup. He's my number five ranked wide receiver
this week, and so he's really the guy that I'm
(25:43):
going to focus on here and again, I hate to
keep throwing out these obscure names and deep sleepers. Olamediz
Achaius is their slot receiver, and the Bengals are getting
killed from the slot position. So another guy if you again,
if you're super desperate and you're looking for waiver wire help,
Olimedi's a chaias against the Bengals.
Speaker 1 (26:00):
An opportunity for you. Fun talking with Paul Chargie. Paul,
these are real names. Comm herey DK and I'll mind you.
Speaker 5 (26:07):
Feeder made up Madden names on the other draft class
in the company of these are real dobs kids. Okay, Well,
what about the tight end position? Rock Bowers has been
kind of a bust this year. I got a Rondez Gadsden.
He's up against Tennessee, which feels like a good matchup.
Is there anybody else out there for people struggling at
the tight end position?
Speaker 1 (26:26):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (26:26):
Well this is the million dollar question, because there's never
enough good tight ends. You've at least got ten twelve,
fourteen teams. There's about six that you can really count on.
Rock Bowers coming back fully, healthy, practicing and full not
on the injury list. Many of us took brock Bowers
at the end of the first round, and Ben we
finally get to use him. This is a Jacksonville opportunity.
That's fantastic, Gay with the fifth most Fantasy points to
tight ends. So hopefully this is the version of brock
(26:50):
Bowers that were that we invested that late first round,
early second round pick in and that he can be
helpful for us here if you need one other sort
of deep dark row.
Speaker 1 (27:01):
Back to the Chicago game against Cincinnati.
Speaker 6 (27:04):
Cincinnati has already allowed ten tight end touchdowns. Many teams
go a whole year without giving up ten tight end touchdowns.
If Cole Kmet is going to miss another game, this
puts Colston Lovelin, their first round pick, into the game
much more often. And this might be the breakout game
for Colston Lovelin. Now we thought that last week too
was a nice opportunity for him. Didn't do much, But
(27:25):
that's somebody you could pick up off the waiver wire
that could be able to help your squad, all.
Speaker 4 (27:29):
Right, Paul, I mean, coming into the season, everyone was
excited about Travis Hunter being able to play either side
of the ball, both sides of the ball.
Speaker 1 (27:38):
But I mean until I.
Speaker 4 (27:39):
Guess before the bye against the Rams, I mean twenty
four fantasy points.
Speaker 1 (27:44):
Now they're coming off by now they're playing the Raiders.
Speaker 4 (27:47):
For a lot of those fantasy owners that were just
kind of a little iffy on Travis, is this the
game that they need to put him in to make
sure that they can maximize their fantasy stats.
Speaker 6 (27:58):
Nick, I'm glad you brought up to Travis Hunter because
it was through the first six weeks we were getting
nothing out of Travis Hunter.
Speaker 1 (28:05):
And I know all these people reach.
Speaker 6 (28:07):
It out, Oh, charge, what's going on with Travis Hunters? If
I just drop him out right, hold me, I'm scared.
Speaker 1 (28:13):
As it's turned out, they have finally.
Speaker 6 (28:15):
Started to figure this thing out with Travis Hunter. Last
game before there by last week fourteen targets for Travis Hunter,
which was fantastic, and you know it was expense. It's
all coming at is Brian Thomas. You know Thomas was
awesome last season and he looked like you know he was.
Speaker 1 (28:30):
He was in the Rookie of the Year conversation. He
was fantastic.
Speaker 6 (28:33):
This year he leads the NFL in dropped passes and
this is this has turned into a Travis Hunter it's
only been one game through.
Speaker 1 (28:43):
If last week is.
Speaker 6 (28:44):
Any indication, Travis Hunter is the go to receiver now
and they're he's getting more and more offensive usage and
less and less defensive usage. And I'm a fantasy guy,
so I love that from Travis Hunter. This is the
version of him that I always wanted was the receiver
for Travis Hunter, who's as you guys know. You know,
it's fearless over the middle of the field, catching the
ball in traffic because he's used to playing in traffic
(29:06):
as a defender. We love him on offense and want
to see Travis Hunter continue what we started to see
that breakout that we saw in week seven.
Speaker 1 (29:14):
Paul, it always goes too quick. We look forward to
talking to you next week. I want to talk to
you about these Guillotine Leagues, of.
Speaker 5 (29:19):
Which you are like kind of the founder and creator of.
I want to talk to you about those next week.
They are super fun and we'll talk to you in
a week. Bye bye, guys. Absolutely Paul Charchie and at
Paul Charchian on Twitter. You guys can find him on
k fan creator Guillotine Leagues.
Speaker 1 (29:32):
We love having him, or.
Speaker 5 (29:38):
Of its podcast Appleite in Spotify frame redesigned I heeart
ready web now did where you can get the take
it from Ranted.
Speaker 1 (29:45):
Podcast archives as well. You guys see that tweet.
Speaker 5 (29:48):
NFL on Prime put out the who brought the most
heat with their throwbacks this past week on the throwback uniforms,
and it's the said Chargers, the Eagles of Broadcos and
the Steelers. I will say this as a full collection
of uniforms that the Chargers are probably best in the NFL.
They got those dark blues that look nice. They got
the powder blues that look nice. Charges, Yeah, they like
(30:09):
they're like, if you're the whole, if you're celebrating the
entire catalog, you're probably taking the Chargers. If you're taking
best throwback uniform, it's it's the Denver Broncos, the Holds.
Speaker 1 (30:20):
I've seen those Charges uniform Like the powder blues or
the dark blues, those are good.
Speaker 5 (30:24):
You.
Speaker 2 (30:24):
I would have gone with it last year. I think
now that they added the all yellow.
Speaker 5 (30:27):
Okay, the urine, the urine uniform sucks, but beyond that
it is right. Beyond that, I agree the yellow. Yeah,
they just got urinated on the r Kelly uniforms. As
it were.
Speaker 1 (30:39):
You don't. You don't want those.
Speaker 5 (30:40):
But because the collection, I think the charge to me,
I think the Chargers have the best catalog, the Broncos uniform,
like the Throwbacks, they easily won this.
Speaker 1 (30:48):
The losers here are.
Speaker 5 (30:50):
The Steelers with that mustard bottles whatever uniform they had
going there.
Speaker 2 (30:56):
You said, you said, the brace said they look like
suicide vests, and there was a tweet saying they looked
like suicide vest which when you look at the shape
of them, they unfortunately do. It's not a there's a
reason they left that in the nineteen twenties.
Speaker 1 (31:08):
The pants look like khakis, it's not. The yellow helmet was.
Speaker 4 (31:11):
Very pimp the yellow Yeah, those met helmets, Yeah, the
yellow matt helmets were clean.
Speaker 1 (31:16):
Yeah, the yellow helmet im was there for like, in fact, they.
Speaker 5 (31:19):
Could just go to that with the black with the
yellow helmet, they could go to that's a pip look
at you.
Speaker 1 (31:23):
But the yellow.
Speaker 5 (31:23):
Uniform itself, like my boy is he on Twitter was like,
it looks like they stole the uniforms.
Speaker 1 (31:28):
They got all the leftover uniforms after Bane blew up
the stadium in the dark night. Because that's what it
looks like. It looks like a faked team uniform.
Speaker 2 (31:35):
I mean there's barely any teams that have that all
yellow look.
Speaker 1 (31:39):
And it's for a reason.
Speaker 2 (31:40):
I remember when Color Rush came out, the Commanders or
Washington got the misfortune of having an all yellow Color
Rush uniform and they just refuse to wear it.
Speaker 1 (31:49):
They just went, We're never wearing this thing. It's awful.
Speaker 4 (31:51):
Sometimes, you know, going back in history is good.
Speaker 1 (31:57):
Sometimes not so much.
Speaker 5 (31:59):
Not so much uniform you ever wore, Like from a
look perspective, Well, because here were the dragon Head, you know,
you were the blue dragon Head.
Speaker 4 (32:08):
Yeah, I mean, well we didn't get a chance to
wear any throwback uniforms. That's why I am a little
jealous of the guys now they get a chance to
wear that throwback uniform.
Speaker 1 (32:19):
I mean even when I played for the Jets and
the Texans, there was no throwbacks.
Speaker 4 (32:24):
Now we we played in Color Rush in Houston, so
we looked like bona fide ketchup bodies.
Speaker 5 (32:32):
The red top the new reds they have, I like,
I didn't like those reds back. I didn't like those ones.
I like the new red they have all like all
the ketchup bottle red and.
Speaker 4 (32:42):
It gets Yeah, it's all right, I have to get
my hands on one of those new helmets, which one
with the yes I got Now, I do have a
Jets helmet and it's it's like it's it's all green
and it looks just like Emerald City.
Speaker 1 (32:59):
I I saw.
Speaker 5 (33:00):
This tweet and I was like, man, like, this is
not even they answer to this question is not even close.
Never blew the doors off all four of these teams
in terms of who had the best throwback, Like the
Eagles uniform doesn't.
Speaker 1 (33:08):
Even look like a throwback.
Speaker 5 (33:10):
The Chargers it'said dark blue, like it is a throwback,
but it doesn't feel like because it.
Speaker 1 (33:14):
Wasn't that long ago they were wearing it.
Speaker 4 (33:15):
Yeah, but but that's that colored green on yes, yeah,
it's on the egles.
Speaker 1 (33:23):
That that's that's.
Speaker 5 (33:24):
Dope obviously, Like the only thing for the Eagles to
throw back that I missed, just like the Eagle wings
on the helmet instead of the you know, like what
I'm talking about.
Speaker 1 (33:30):
Like that's yeah, that was the best helmet. Yes. Now,
now the Colts it's just the same. Yeah, yeah, most
of them are like real similar.
Speaker 5 (33:40):
Like a few little cosmetic touches or whatever, you know,
Like the lion's helmets a little for those lions.
Speaker 1 (33:44):
All blacks are.
Speaker 4 (33:45):
Yes, sweet too, though all black lions are dope. You
also know was dope to as well. The commanders where
they get the all black helmet and the face mask.
Speaker 1 (33:55):
Oh yeah, yeah too with the little yellow pipe iping
on the side. Yeah, I'm there for that. I'm there
for that.
Speaker 2 (34:02):
On the throwbacks, how about the oilers. They're not rocking
those anymore, but I think that that's a classic. Look
the cream ciricles. They've got the away cream circles. Now,
I really like the.
Speaker 5 (34:10):
The cream circles the only one I think that you
put up there with the Denver d helmet, the old
those the.
Speaker 1 (34:15):
Only cream circle like those. I think it was dope.
What about the Dolphins?
Speaker 2 (34:21):
The Dolphins throwbacks pretty nice with the it's got the
old school dolphin and everything. Yeah, that's talking about that.
It's the old school.
Speaker 5 (34:31):
It's the old school turquoise with the orange stripe on
the white helmet.
Speaker 1 (34:34):
I didn't like. I didn't like.
Speaker 5 (34:36):
I didn't like their rivalry uniform though whatever they had
a couple of weeks ago.
Speaker 1 (34:40):
Wait, you didn't like the ones? There was all the
black ones, the Dolphins ones, that the no I was
at all.
Speaker 2 (34:50):
Oh, I just hate the like random blackouts for teams
with without any blackball.
Speaker 5 (34:58):
I know, and I hated it too, like because there
was a time with Arkansas and I'm like, your Carlo
is a cardinal and white, what are we doing.
Speaker 1 (35:04):
With a Santhracite uniform? And then mix it up?
Speaker 5 (35:07):
Man?
Speaker 1 (35:07):
Where I can't believe this. Where's the creativity from you guys?
Where is it? I don't know, but you know it's
gonna have to get creative this week?
Speaker 5 (35:14):
Where's that Denver Broncos With the absence of PS two
Broncos Country Night back into this
