Speaker 1 (00:00):
I have children, I'm just gonna clone myself and how

(00:01):
infuriating that would be.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
We know what?

Speaker 3 (00:04):
Once again, that would be a conversation I would want
to sit in on.

Speaker 1 (00:09):
I do not need a younger, handsomer, smarter me rolling
around as competition. That would be interesting, be great conversation.
That's like Segres was pointing out. He's like, you guys
are gonna echo each other on the Justin Fields thing,
and I'm like, no, Now the other me will take
the contrarian viewpoints and I'll just be sitting here like
I look at Glass infuriated with myself, because you know.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
That would be hilarious.

Speaker 4 (00:32):
That's I don't know which is the real bend, the
fake bend will be wearing a Justin Field service.

Speaker 1 (00:37):
Yeah, it'd be like the Star trek all like the
goatee when they're evil. Like that would be interesting, utterly ridiculous.
Thanks to Paul charge here for joining us earlier getting
little bit of fantasy football stuff in there.

Speaker 4 (00:52):
We love having him on. Thanks to day Cosmier who
joined us in the last segment. Were there from the
athletic as a part of any of that.

Speaker 1 (00:59):
You can always go to Broncos Country that dot com
podcast or podcast, Apple iTunes, Spotify, the free and redesigned
iHeartRadio app Neil did nail It, Didn't we wor you
can also get the Taking It for Granted podcast archives
as well.

Speaker 4 (01:12):
Nick.

Speaker 1 (01:12):
We got a four game stretch coming up here that
you know, we've talked about. This we talked about with Nick,
but this, this four game stretch really is kind of
the four game stretch for the Denver Broncos this year.
I know how you get on the radio and every
week you talk about how the games that must win
and all that kind of stuff. I don't know if
this games must win, but there's a three games, there
are four game stretch here that it pick hits you
up against and puts you in position to either take

(01:35):
over the driver's seat basically in the AFC outside of
the Colts. But but you know, could do that or
it could torpedo you. You've got the Houston Texans. This
game has won a twelve percent playoff probability swing for
the Broncos. I believe you've got the Raiders, which we
I think we all arened agreement that's probably going to
be a Broncos win.

Speaker 4 (01:53):
But then you've got the Chiefs and you've got the Commanders.

Speaker 1 (01:56):
There's a strong possibility we're without Sertan for this this
four game. What is your confidence level that we can
come out of this five hundred or better.

Speaker 2 (02:05):
I have a lot of confidence.

Speaker 3 (02:06):
And the reason why my confidence continues to grow. One,
I'll start with the deepenit side of the ball. Even
with PS two. You know, being out right, there is
a lot of depth on this team, especially in the secondary.

Speaker 2 (02:20):
You getting Drake Greenland back for this particular game.

Speaker 3 (02:23):
Hopefully we don't suffer any other suspensions or fines of
any sort. But also look at the evolution of the
offense over the past couple of weeks, and I saw
with that that game against the Giants, that fourth quarter explosion.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
To me, that is what this offense can and should be.

Speaker 3 (02:46):
But the biggest question I think we all asked is
can they do that on a consistent basis? And it
all starts with consistently calling plays that set them up. Now.
I know things may look a little too fabricator or
fools go because last week it was a Dallas Cowboys defense.

Speaker 4 (03:04):
And they do suck. But you can only play the
team put in front of him.

Speaker 3 (03:07):
That's right, but still even with that being said, Ben,
you look at how they execute it, like on that
toss play to the.

Speaker 2 (03:15):
RJ Harvey or he didn't no one touched him. I
mean he went clean and bike. Shout out to no
blocking nor Rot.

Speaker 3 (03:25):
Pat Bryan for being the catalyst and the guy that
sprung him on that particular play. If the Broncos continue
to string along plays like that where they're playing on
the perimeter right and forcing the defense to play their
style of offense, now you could take advantage of it
because now you set them up all the boot keep game.

(03:46):
Now all those things are there. So I'm really excited.
This weekend would be a huge test for the Denver Broncos.
They surpassed this test. To me, it's a bonus. Even
if they win by three points, well I hope they do.

Speaker 1 (04:00):
On the flip side of that, if they lose this game,
if if you know, if they don't outscore, I mean,
it's and it's tough. I mean, you're going on the
road to one of the best defenses, if not the
best defense in football.

Speaker 4 (04:10):
You gotta be playing an early game.

Speaker 1 (04:11):
The Broncos traditionally struggle a little bit in those earlier games.
You know, if they do come away with this with
a loss, what are we saying at that point?

Speaker 2 (04:21):
Is this?

Speaker 1 (04:22):
You know, are we starting to question whether or not
that Chiefs Commanders back to back matchups there.

Speaker 4 (04:26):
With you know, in the bye week and all that.
Where are we? Where are we at with this team?

Speaker 1 (04:31):
Is because right now, I think everybody looks at this
and says, Broncos is gonna make playoffs? Are we still
in that same mindset if they if they're they lose
to Houston?

Speaker 3 (04:39):
Hell yeah, the mindset doesn't change. And then also, okay,
it would we have therefore a look at how they
lose the game? Yeah, right now if if it's somewhat
of a lopside blowout, which I don't foresee happening, but
for the sake of the conversation, let's just say that
is the case.

Speaker 2 (04:56):
The idea is.

Speaker 3 (04:57):
Lecky Bones, pick up the pieces six and three, the
bottom hasn't falled out fell out yet. Then the next
week you have the Raiders, take things out on the Raiders,
fix everything that you need, and then be ready for
the Kansas City Chiefs game.

Speaker 2 (05:13):
And here's why, Because you're not only.

Speaker 3 (05:15):
Chasing the Chiefs, the Chargers or even the Texans for
that matter. Don't forget there's a team that's in the
same division as the Texans.

Speaker 2 (05:26):
They're seven and one.

Speaker 4 (05:28):
You lost to that team.

Speaker 3 (05:30):
So you have to make sure that you keep pace
even if you were to drop this game, which I
find it really difficult at this point that the Broncos
loses game against the Texans.

Speaker 2 (05:39):
But you have to keep the main thing the main thing.

Speaker 1 (05:44):
Yeah, and I think from a mindset perspective, that'll be fine.
I just as I look at this what my confidence
level is with a win or a loss. Year, they
beat the Texans, and I think you've checked the boxes.
You've beaten You've beaten a great offense in Dallas, You've
beaten a great defense at that point in the Texans.
You've shown resiliency in uh Philadelphia, New York and uh

(06:08):
in New York, UH well, New York and London and
New York here uh in showing in your ability to
uh come back in fourth quarters. I think at that
point you've checked the boxes. There are a few other
housekeeping things you have to do. You got to keep
your wins on going out the way. You probably need
to beat Kansas City. Check that one off your list,
probably need to beat the Chargers since we're over and
the Sean Payton era, you know, check that off the list.

Speaker 4 (06:30):
But at that point, you beat Houston.

Speaker 1 (06:32):
You've you've you've done a little bit of everything, and
we're at the point.

Speaker 4 (06:35):
Where we're saying this team is a contender, man.

Speaker 3 (06:38):
And what I don't want to do is you don't
want to get too far ahead of things, and all
I don't want to get too.

Speaker 2 (06:43):
Far ahead of it.

Speaker 3 (06:43):
And at the same time, I don't want to put
like my my, my narrative of my mindset into too
positively or too negatively depending on the outcome of the
game on Sunday, because once again, if the Broncos were
to win, that doesn't mean that you got a number
one seed or you are hosting a home playoff game,

(07:04):
right and you guys say, oh yeah, look at us
right now. No, you have several games remaining. And the
same could be said if they were to lose the game.
Like I said before, the bottom hasn't wouldn't have dropped out.
You now have to look at what were the reasons
why you were not successful on the row and then
try to get better.

Speaker 2 (07:21):
So don't be too high don't be too low, but
just understand, the.

Speaker 3 (07:25):
More you're able to win, you continue to build the
team's confidence. But also the teams that are getting ready
to play for you play against you. Now you strike
a little fear in their mind because you bring in
a five, six, seven game.

Speaker 1 (07:39):
Win Street And the fact that if at that point
you are doing it without the reigning defensive player of
the year, arguably your.

Speaker 4 (07:47):
Best defensive player in patser ten.

Speaker 1 (07:50):
If you're able to stack those wins without having him
out there, that says a lot about not just what
you are as a complete football team, but what the
defense is able to do resiliently. That it's not a
one man show, that it's not certain taking away a
third of the field.

Speaker 4 (08:04):
And oh, by the way, all.

Speaker 1 (08:05):
These guys benefit that it is a complete defense and
you've got enough depth to be able to hang with
with teams in the NFL.

Speaker 2 (08:11):
Well, it was not just even having a complete defense.

Speaker 3 (08:14):
That means now that the heavy portion of the game
is now being centered around the Broncos offense, and now
they're showing you, okay, well, we had our early struggles
throughout the season, we were able to turn the corner
that that Giants game was what we needed. Is almost

(08:35):
like a wake up call, a smack in the face,
if you will. Now we got our groove back, and
then you got to groove back. You don't even need
Stellar for that.

Speaker 5 (08:45):
I was just gonna say we called the Broncos stellar,
but now we're saying, okay, well, whatever it was that
happened in that Giants game had a major impact on
the offense, but more importantly on the signal caller.

Speaker 3 (09:01):
I mean, things change in that Giants game because the
team went up tempo. They were doing a lot of
things that they were not doing to start the.

Speaker 2 (09:10):
Season, and now that would change for me. I guess.

Speaker 3 (09:16):
The whole outlook for the Denver Broncos because we've seen
the defense keep them in games, make pivotal plays at
advantageous times, but the offense wasn't coming along. Now you
got your offense and your defense that's a major threat.

Speaker 1 (09:34):
Rank these three in terms of importance as win for
the Broncos. Houston, Kansas City, the Chargers three games upcoming. Now,
cap my Kansas, He's got two games, but we'll just
call it the Kansas City home the home game and
not the Christmas game. Let's call it the home game.
Which of those three games is more important for Denver

(09:55):
to win? What about you seekers the one in front
of you, I mean big weekends. I'm saying overall, like,
if you could guarantee one of those three is wins, Zach,
Zach this as well. If you could guarantee you only
get to you get a genie and you only get
to pick one of these three is wins. Which of
these three would you absolutely take as a win. Houston

(10:17):
Kansas City at home or the Chargers Kansas City at home.
I think most people would probably say that, but you're
gonna say something entirely different.

Speaker 4 (10:26):
You've got to beat the Chargers. You can't go over
the Sean Payton era against against the Chargers. You can't
do it.

Speaker 2 (10:31):
Waite.

Speaker 3 (10:32):
Before you even get to the Chargers, you have to
get through the Kansas City home game first.

Speaker 4 (10:36):
So that's why if we.

Speaker 1 (10:36):
Met Kansas, I mean it was their backups, but we
beat we got the buggaboo off last year with with
the Kansas City thing.

Speaker 4 (10:42):
I'm with you, I'm with you.

Speaker 1 (10:43):
That's why.

Speaker 3 (10:44):
That's why this game against Kansas City at home is
impoorant because last.

Speaker 2 (10:48):
Season you beat Kansas City.

Speaker 3 (10:50):
But Kansas City had already clinched and they were playing
with their battle playing backup, So.

Speaker 2 (10:56):
You didn't beat like Kansas City.

Speaker 4 (10:58):
Why do I say Kansas City over the Charger.

Speaker 1 (10:59):
I'm I think there's a psyche thing with the horriball thing,
like you've got to get that out of your mind.

Speaker 2 (11:04):
I think there might be.

Speaker 4 (11:05):
Ultimately, though, I think the Chiefs are a much bigger
contender for that division crown. I want to win the division.
I'll go and four against Jim Arbaugh if the Broncos
win the division.

Speaker 2 (11:15):
If i'd I don't.

Speaker 4 (11:16):
If you're not going for against Andy Reid and win
the division. You've've beaten Andy Reid in the past years.
But still, I like, I'm not that worried about losing.
I don't know, having those stretches against either head coach,
it's not ideal. But what I care about is where
do the Broncos finish in the division standings. I think
the Chargers are a much more flawed team than the

(11:36):
Chiefs right now. The Chiefs also have a very easy
schedule to close things out. I want as much of
a lead going into that final stretch as I can.
Let's take all that out of the equation, then call
it the Broncos, an eleven win team.

Speaker 1 (11:46):
Either way, would you rather have a win over the
Chargers of the Chiefs, Chiefs, then Chiefs.

Speaker 4 (11:53):
I think unless we're saying it has no impact on anything,
I think you.

Speaker 2 (11:58):
Guys are over kind of thinking this situation.

Speaker 4 (12:01):
In that case, the Chargers, you might want to get
that monkey off your back.

Speaker 2 (12:04):
If it has no hold on, hold on.

Speaker 4 (12:09):
I can't believe you.

Speaker 3 (12:13):
Guys are not looking at this through the right lens, because, Okay,
Sean Payton doesn't have a great record against Harbor.

Speaker 2 (12:21):
We know they historically, he's.

Speaker 1 (12:22):
Got one win and it was the last second field
goal back when Harbor was coaching the Niners.

Speaker 2 (12:26):
I get it.

Speaker 3 (12:26):
So remind me of the two teams who has won
the West the most Kansas City of the Chargers, which.

Speaker 4 (12:34):
One has only been there? No, no, no, this isn't impacting
any of the division. I'm with you.

Speaker 1 (12:41):
I'm with you, it doesn't impact They finished with eleven
twelve wins, no matter what they finished first or second, vision,
no matter what, which one of those two teams as.

Speaker 3 (12:48):
The city is the team to be right, they they've
owned the Broncos, they've owned the West.

Speaker 2 (12:54):
They've been to the super Bowl multiple years when.

Speaker 3 (12:58):
A lot of teams in this division well home, just
like you and I just watching.

Speaker 4 (13:02):
Yeah, but but I'm not going back that far. I'm
going back the history.

Speaker 1 (13:06):
To me, the histories of these teams are with who
is their current head coach.

Speaker 2 (13:09):
Listen, we don't have to go back down. We can
go back four years, right, And he said, well, we are.

Speaker 4 (13:13):
We counting the Hacket year, we counting.

Speaker 2 (13:14):
Fangio years now if if you want to.

Speaker 3 (13:17):
The whole idea is that the Broncos have to get
over Kansas City, almost like Josh Allen.

Speaker 2 (13:25):
For Josh Allen and.

Speaker 3 (13:27):
Lamar Jackson to be considered the quarterbacks they get to
did you have to?

Speaker 1 (13:31):
I get that that's a that's a legacy perspective. That's
a little bit different than what I'm getting, But I
get that five six six nine zeros A text line
someone nine, happy birthday, Mom. By the way, your meat
loaf is terrible. It will not be yelling ma the
meat loaf.

Speaker 4 (13:42):
We crashers somebody.

Speaker 1 (13:45):
Uh the three or three says I think patser Tan's
podcast is called never Tackle a running back.

Speaker 4 (13:50):
Not get that reference.

Speaker 3 (13:51):
No, that I think that Texter is trying to be
funny maybe, but no, that that's not the name.

Speaker 2 (13:58):
Of the podcast.

Speaker 1 (13:59):
Okay, someone I preached it been Chargers most important of
the three.

Speaker 4 (14:04):
What text line that's no, no, not agrees with me.

Speaker 1 (14:09):
Just because line by the way out to our guy
Stacy and you, we finally got to meet the best
drop we ever have, the carrot Cake drop. We finally
got to meet him out there on Sunday, got a
chance to meet him.

Speaker 4 (14:21):
Shout out to meet to to Stacy. Uh see, we've
got the two, one, four.

Speaker 1 (14:24):
If you're only winning one of those games and you're
not a playoff contender, so some point, well, what I'm
saying is is like pretend that whatever in whatever way
you watch that we wrapped up the division and you
but you only got one of those wins to do it,
Like which one would you say? You're you're clearly taking
the chiefs, I'm taking the changes and it's not. And
it's not like some kind of I don't want to
beat Casey thing. I just think it's more important to

(14:46):
prove that you can do it, because you haven't done
it well.

Speaker 3 (14:49):
You have to prove that you can be and that's
the measuring stick. And I know you guy, you like
to set the bar really really really really.

Speaker 4 (14:59):
Low and somehow limbo under it.

Speaker 3 (15:01):
That's right, and that's exactly what you just did, said
it really low, talking about the damn.

Speaker 1 (15:05):
Charges NFL six pack when we come back five six,
six nine zeros text line. People are split on this man.
There's there's a lot of people say Chiefs, A lot
of people say Chargers two five too. Is like, it
has to be just an all caps text, by the way,
it has to.

Speaker 4 (15:23):
Be the Chiefs.

Speaker 2 (15:24):
Hold them for a second. You have to read it
the way they wrote it.

Speaker 4 (15:28):
I can't at this point in the evening. I can't
read that loud.

Speaker 1 (15:31):
It's all but it's all caps.

Speaker 4 (15:34):
The f words beat us sixteen damn times in a
row from exclamation points. We need to go on a
nasty streak on them.

Speaker 1 (15:42):
Single exclamation point to hell with the Raiders and Chargers,
no punctuation whatsoever.

Speaker 2 (15:47):
I would concur with that text.

Speaker 4 (15:50):
I get it. I definitely get it. I get where
they're coming from.

Speaker 2 (15:53):
I mean, I get it, but you don't.

Speaker 4 (15:55):
You don't really like I'm not that either way either way.

Speaker 1 (15:57):
It's whatever, But I'm just genuinely curious, because see, I
don't hold like he's talking about sixteen times in a row.
I don't count the Vic Fangio or Nate Hackett air.
We're in the Sean Payton era. It's a totally different
to count a different book. No, it's not a totally
different book, is it.

Speaker 6 (16:11):
No?

Speaker 3 (16:12):
Yes, you know what, Okay, I'll play this game. It's
a different book. It is a different volume.

Speaker 2 (16:18):
Yeah, it's like, how about lot of.

Speaker 4 (16:19):
Patrick Mahomes there Andy Reid era, right, well, yeah, but
I mean that's their book as far as that kind
of stuff goes. But our book we're you know, where
are the Dark Knight Rises? Now, We're not in We're
not in Batman Begins anymore.

Speaker 3 (16:35):
No, you cannot erase those lawsness, They're in the book,
in the.

Speaker 2 (16:42):
Lost to them.

Speaker 1 (16:42):
Sure, but Sean Payne was not the head coach. All
I count in the Sean payn ra is the Sean
Payne stuff.

Speaker 4 (16:46):
It doesn't matter. Once the bad boys leave, you're still
tired of Michael Jordan beating up on you. If you're
the Pistons in the in the mid to late nineties,
you know, like I'm annoyed with and you read at
this point, I'm annoyed with Patrick Marlins.

Speaker 1 (16:59):
Dude, it was not this seem like beating the Chicago
Bulls when Jordan and Pipot and Kuck Coachs weren't there anymore.

Speaker 4 (17:06):
No, but the good guys, the good the Michael Jordan version,
the really elite guys, the Michael Jordan to the Patrick Mahons,
the Phil Jackson to the Andy Reid. They're still there.
We're not in the early two thousands Bulls era. I
wouldn't when the Chiefs are back to being four and
twelve or I guess four and fifteen. Probably at that
point and at the NFL, I won't care so much

(17:29):
about the Chiefs and beating them.

Speaker 1 (17:30):
The Larry Bird Pacers aren't the Larry Brown Pacers.

Speaker 2 (17:34):
I don't care what you say. It matters.

Speaker 4 (17:38):
Sixteen times you guys are drunk. Well that let's get
to an NFL six back.

Speaker 6 (17:42):
It's time for the NFL. I'm gonna trade a lot
of beer, insight and inside information you can't find anywhere else.
I know the top six NFL headlines.

Speaker 4 (17:58):
Ay Mutching's inside a contract tension with the Detroit Lions
that will make him one of the league's highest paid
edge rushers at forty five million dollars per year. Considering
that news, is Benito's extension at twenty six point five
million per year the best veteran bargain contract in the NFL?
I'm not sure my best.

Speaker 1 (18:17):
And by the way, Nick Benneto's who's going to get
escalated to thirty million, Like he's gonna hit the benchmarks
he's got.

Speaker 4 (18:21):
That's a good point.

Speaker 1 (18:22):
He's going to get the thirty person weeks like those
has to do with sacks, all Pro Bowls, all proteins,
all that kind of stuff. Like I had the I
have the incentives. He's going to hit all of them,
like he's going to get thirty million a year.

Speaker 4 (18:33):
Sixteen million in surplus value would be comparable to get
you know what's Sam Darnold and Baker Mayfield are creating
at the quarterback position? Well, sixteen million a Year's you're asking.
You're not asking if it's better than Benido, You're asking
it's better.

Speaker 1 (18:45):
Than Cooper and Benito. Like that's the that's the numbers,
you know. I mean that that tells you, Yes, the
Broncos have excellent value at the edge rush position.

Speaker 3 (18:52):
So you guys saw an edge rushers, which is great
because those guys impact the quarterback.

Speaker 4 (18:56):
Safeties are the real hero.

Speaker 2 (18:57):
Well, well, I.

Speaker 3 (18:58):
Would like to say that we all the quarterbacks, but
yet I digress. This conversation should be more about the
Broncos in the deal they signed with passer tand that's
the deal right there. Yeah, especially looking at look at
Stinglee saus Gardner, what those teams paid those two guys.
I mean, yes, the Broncos won with PSU.

Speaker 1 (19:21):
Sooner you get a deal done, the more you save
your said just period, point blank.

Speaker 4 (19:24):
In the story creates good culture too. Guys know you're
gonna do right by them, and then I think you
continue to pay it for a word. Yes, you're gonna
have Nick be Bonito on a relative steal now, but
you make sure you do right by him a little
early and you extend those says savings are perpetual.

Speaker 2 (19:38):
Well, I guess, and the owner's manual.

Speaker 3 (19:40):
I guess. Uh, Jerry Jones skip that CHAPPI yeah, yeah,
the ship that whole book.

Speaker 1 (19:47):
The funny thing about this is Benito wanted to wait
till Parsons and Hendrickson get done. Hendrickson didn't get done
Parsons got done. The Broncos got Bado done a week later,
like like, we are ready to pay you, sir, and
it's still a steal.

Speaker 4 (20:02):
Jeremy Fowler reported today that the Denver Broncos have made
calls on Raiders wide receiver Jacobe Myers, who demanded a
trade from the Raiders before the season started. What do
you think about the Broncos hypothetically making a deal with
a division rival like the Raiders, And do you think
they should trade for Myers.

Speaker 1 (20:20):
I don't believe they'll get this deal done. I would
be shocked if they did. The Raiders are not gonna
let Myers go for less than the day two bid,
Like I'm just gonna tell you that now.

Speaker 4 (20:27):
Yeah, it's gonna be a second or third rounder. The
Broncos are not gonna pay that.

Speaker 1 (20:30):
Yes, well, so that's that's what I've been trying to
tell people, like on these still on these receivers and
stuff like that, the asking price. There are two receivers
to keep your eye on right now as far as
I know, and that's Juwan Jennings and Reshi Chihat. I
get that Shaheed's skill set has redundant with Mims but
when mims the concussion protocol, you can bring them in.
You've got you know, you guess why you can tap
top off Juwan Jennings a little bit of a different
skill set, But both those guys would be one season rentals.

(20:52):
You're looking her day three picks and they're fairly cheap
right now, but they won't be back next year. The
Broncos only have five million of available cast space. That's
the thing everybody seems to be forgetting when they.

Speaker 4 (21:03):
Look at it.

Speaker 1 (21:03):
All these players the Broncos want, We've only got five
million available cast space.

Speaker 3 (21:06):
Anyway, I don't think the Broncos should be I guess
eyeing to Kobe Myers, and I know you always supposed
to look across the league just in case, but wat
kick tires on the guy who's been in the league
for since a period of time, and he just kind
of look at his production with the team, and you
could you always go back and say, well, he didn't.

Speaker 2 (21:24):
Have the right quarterback.

Speaker 3 (21:26):
No, save the draft picks, go into the draft, get
a younger player. Like Vince said, you still, when you
got five million dollars, you want more cost effective guys
who could be productive over a long period of time.
So that's a note for me.

Speaker 4 (21:39):
Anjuwan Jennings, there's been weird injury reporting with him all season.
He talked about playing through all these broken ribs or whatever.
Do you know how healthy he would be if the
Broncos traded for him? He says he's healthy.

Speaker 1 (21:51):
Enough to go, and he obviously is incentivized to put
together some good tape because he wants a contract after
this season. He den'anded the trade, didn't get one from
the Niners.

Speaker 4 (21:59):
So those two names.

Speaker 1 (22:00):
I was told to kind of keep an eye on,
not that there are that that's the only two names,
but those are the two I was told to kind
of keep.

Speaker 6 (22:05):
An eye on. Three.

Speaker 4 (22:08):
Terry McLaurin is expected to miss the Commander's Week nine
game against the Seattle Seahawks. Do you think the Commanders
are now having buyer's remorse with McLaurin missing five of
the first nine games of the season immediately after signing
that Lufratiff contract extension with the franchise. And if the
Washington Commanders lose to the Seattle Seahawks this week, are

(22:30):
their playoff hopes cooked at three and six?

Speaker 2 (22:34):
Not cooks?

Speaker 4 (22:35):
I mean, you know, honestly, two and five.

Speaker 1 (22:38):
I mean, you know there are there's there's been two
and five playoff teams.

Speaker 4 (22:42):
Two and five teams make the playoffs.

Speaker 1 (22:43):
A matter of fact, Cardinals are two and five right now,
but they have the close to the best point differential,
third best point differential all time for a team that's
two and five. The other two teams that were ahead
of them both made the playoffs. That were Colton and Jacks,
teams that both made the playoffs, So you know there's
there's hope there. I don't think you have Buyer's remorse
on mclaura mclaurin's great receiver's quarterback proof. I think the
Empire's remorse on that defense. It's the oldest defense in

(23:04):
the world, and we knew they were going to take
a little bit of a step back this year. I
didn't expect it to be quite this hard.

Speaker 3 (23:11):
Now. There's no buyer who's remorse And McClaren, when you
look at the number of thousand yards receiving seasons that
he had up until this year, there were several and
that was the reason he was holding out.

Speaker 2 (23:22):
And that's why the two teams came to.

Speaker 3 (23:24):
Somewhat of agreement because they knew how important he was
to the quarterback. And like Ben said, he's quarterback proof
no matter who was the quarterbacks, he's putting up numbers.
It's just unfortunate that you know, this is gain that's
really physical.

Speaker 2 (23:37):
Gods get hurt and it can happen at any time.

Speaker 3 (23:40):
They're saving grace is that it's not somewhat of an
injury that he can't come back from.

Speaker 4 (23:45):
And if I was mclaurin's agent, I'd be arguing, Hey,
if you guys paid him earlier, got this deal done
in May or June, we would have got him here
for the started training camp.

Speaker 2 (23:53):
He got a normal rams whoa.

Speaker 3 (23:56):
Whoa pumpy Brakes cowboy, Hold on for a second. This
is a two way street. So I'm just saying.

Speaker 6 (24:02):
Four, five, no, four, it's time.

Speaker 4 (24:07):
It's not time from pounding the six pack here, excuse me.
Tomorrow night, the Baltimore Ravens will look to keep their
hopes of winning the division alive as they face the
Miami Dolphins on Thursday Night Football. How likely do you
think it is that the Ravens win the division if

(24:28):
they win this game? How about if they lose this game?

Speaker 1 (24:32):
Well, their schedule is is Will pointed out to me yesterday,
but you guys, I think it was grand Nick pointed
out to me. But they it's funny because the Ravens
at two and five or whatever they are, they're at
minus money to win the division.

Speaker 4 (24:43):
It's a minus money to win the division like.

Speaker 1 (24:46):
The Steelers are, you know, basically a cruise control there,
it looked like. And they're plus money to win their
own division. You used to be at the Bengals ahead
of the Ravens at this point, but that schedule ahead
looks pretty tasty.

Speaker 4 (24:56):
To get Lamar jack you stay healthy and their.

Speaker 1 (24:58):
Defense is finally get a couple of pieces back as well,
because their defense has been bad this year so far.

Speaker 4 (25:03):
You know, they did a good chance to anybody. I'm
not count them out.

Speaker 2 (25:07):
No, I can't count Baltimore out.

Speaker 3 (25:10):
Even with as bad as their defense has been over
the past couple of weeks. When you have a guy
like Lamar Jackson in the lineup with Derek Herry, that
changes everything that you want to try to defend against,
and it just opens up so much.

Speaker 2 (25:22):
So once again, if Lamar is playing in this game,
as that think he.

Speaker 3 (25:26):
Is expected to play, obviously you have a lean heavily
towards through Ravens.

Speaker 4 (25:30):
Yeah, I don't know how the Dolphins are going to
be able to hang with the Ravens. Then again, I
didn't think the Dolphins would be able to hang with
the Falcons, and hey.

Speaker 2 (25:36):
God blew them out of the water.

Speaker 1 (25:38):
So maybe an early bad week for me with picks
between that between Miami and the Falcons, Cincinnati and the
Jets and uh yeah, it's just.

Speaker 6 (25:46):
It was a B five.

Speaker 4 (25:50):
The New Orleans Saints are reportedly planning on starting Tyler
Shugg for the rest of the season. Do you think
we'll see Rattler win back that starting job or start
elsewhere at any point this season with the trade deadline
still not passed, And who do you think the Saints
starting quarterback will be in twenty twenty six? Well, I
guess depending on how Shug plays.

Speaker 1 (26:10):
To be honest with you, I mean, he was sort
of drafted to be that guy, but they didn't use
a first rounder on him, so it's not like they're
really really tied to it.

Speaker 4 (26:16):
They go back to the well if there's somebody there.

Speaker 1 (26:18):
Like this year, and you know, whether it's Fredanna Mendoza
or Ty Simpson, you know, one of those kind of guys.
Obviously they got nus Meyer on staff there, you could
look at maybe a Garrett Nussemeyer a little later. As
far as Ratler goes, though, I don't I don't know
where's he gonna play.

Speaker 4 (26:33):
I mean, who has a.

Speaker 1 (26:34):
Need for in a mid season need for what he
brings to the table. I think he's probably an off
season trade.

Speaker 3 (26:40):
Well, I mean he doesn't have to be an offseason
trade because tellis we don't know exactly what he's going
to be. And Smithson rawler could find his way back
into the starting lineup because this week the Saints are
at the Rams and then after that at Carolina the
New Falcons in Miami. So depending on what happens in
his Rams, if he doesn't look great, I'm sure killing

(27:02):
Moore was sticking with him another week. But if you
lose to the Caroline of Panthers, you have to think
maybe you may go back to Spencer Rally, who, by
the way, I mean, he provided a spat and he
did look great.

Speaker 2 (27:13):
I think you're right.

Speaker 4 (27:14):
I think there's a decent chance they might go back
to Spencer Raler, just because I don't know how good
Shrug's gonna play. Maybe he plays well enough to lock
up that starting job going forward. But I think there's
a reason why, despite investing such a relatively high picking
Shug and Shug not being a pick of this coaching staff,
Rattler ended up starting Week one and starting for so
long this season. I think he's honestly didn't play that bad.

(27:38):
If Shug really struggles, I think that he could get
a quick huck.

Speaker 3 (27:41):
I add this to that, if the season is a
wash and moment then happens.

Speaker 2 (27:47):
Even if they say after.

Speaker 3 (27:49):
The Carolina Panthers game, the organization feels that way, guess
what We're gonna see more Tyler shock because they have
to get him prepare for twenty twenty six.

Speaker 1 (27:56):
And that's why I think what you got here this
is you know, Rattler's not the future there. Shug maybe is,
But I thought rather was fine. I mean, he showed heart,
he was out there, you know, he was out there trying.
I'd love to see him, honestly, if the Bryce Young
thing is is cooked there doesn't work out, I'd love
to see Ratler go across the division there with Dave
can Allis and fit into that offense. I think they'd
be pretty nice. That's a really good thing.

Speaker 4 (28:16):
Six Raiders tighten brock Bauers said that he's ready to
go after being sidelined the past three weeks with a
knee injury. Do you think Bowers will reclaim the title
of best tight end in the league upon his return
and how will the Broncos try to defend him next Thursday? Wow,
my fantasy team, hope.

Speaker 1 (28:34):
So since he was like my first round pick, I'd
love to love to have a player that I ticked
at some point in the draft actually show up for
my fantasy team.

Speaker 4 (28:41):
We'll see. I know everybody cares about that overall. I mean,
he's had a bunch of injuries. I don't know if
he's this year is going to be his year.

Speaker 1 (28:48):
But they need to get him back out there and
see what they got because that team, that Raiders team
has been abysmal old year both sides of the ball.

Speaker 3 (28:56):
You know what I think it's it's gonna be interesting
to see how he comes back and play, especially being
out for a while. I can tell you when you've
been out with an injury now, mentally you're questioning your
ability to go out there and perform.

Speaker 2 (29:07):
As though you perform in his pass.

Speaker 3 (29:09):
And then also what is the condition in fact is
going to be for brad Byers when he comes back.
So it's going to be a couple of weeks they
have me working back into form before he starts, having
this fantasy production that been has been missing for so long.

Speaker 4 (29:22):
Anything, anything will help. I think part of it too,
beyond him just being healthy. The tight end pool is
more competitive now than it was. At least we thought
it would be entering the season. It was just kind
of Trey McBride and Brock Bowers. Now you've got Tyler
Warren looking awesome. A Tucker Craft has emerged as an
elite player for the Packers, the.

Speaker 1 (29:43):
Rode Gads and my god, my god, well I'm so
happy for I am so happy for Ronde Gadston.

Speaker 3 (29:49):
Man.

Speaker 4 (29:49):
I mean, it sucks that he's with the Chargers. I
really wanted him here, But then that dude is balling
for the Chargers.

Speaker 2 (29:56):
You had been rooting for him for for a while.

Speaker 4 (30:00):
I wanted him here. I wanted him here so bad.
He was so bad. It's too bad, so sad.

Speaker 1 (30:04):
I know, watching the Syracuse tape, I'm like, man, this
dude is like what Evan Ingram was, and he was
prime as far as like move like looking like a
wide receiver, move with the balls.
