Speaker 1 (00:00):
All brad Nick, Ferguson, Zach Siegers here with a five
to sixty six nine zero is the text line, and
looking at earlier reaction, it's kind.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
Of split on the Wattenberg deal.

Speaker 1 (00:09):
I did just text with somebody who works for a
team that would definitely be interested in acquiring Luke Wattenberg
had he hit free agency, and he said that the
market that they had estimated for Wattenberg was thirteen point two.
So they're saying this is a team friendly deal from
Luke Wattenberg. So just a little added context there from
somebody who was on an opposing team that would have

(00:32):
been in the market for Luke Wattenberg.

Speaker 3 (00:34):
I'll say this far as Luke Wattenberg is concerned, and
we talked about this a little doing a break.

Speaker 2 (00:42):
You can think that.

Speaker 3 (00:44):
A successful season will produce an opportunity for you to
get a much larger payday with another team after the
season is over, and we've seen that happen with certain positions.
Now when it comes to the center position, we don't
see that many guys get large paydays like this, and
I'm gonna say it's a large payday for a guy

(01:06):
like Wattenberg considering the fact that how he got here,
How do you get to this point because it was
once again Lloyd Christianberg, very excuse me, who was holding
down in this center position. And if someone comes to
you and they say, look all right, here's some money
on the table.

Speaker 2 (01:24):
Now there's a potential that you could earn this here.

Speaker 3 (01:28):
But that's not a guarantee, and anything can happen between
now and the end of the season. Is to say
if his place started to slimp. Injuries are a big factor.
The idea is when someone puts these types of type
of money in front of you, you do have a choice.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
Yeah, Weadenberg, of course, the other player to get paid
by the Broncos from that twenty twenty two draft class
the loan, I think blemish for George Payden, the Nate
Hackett draft.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
Class, and it was not a great draft class.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
We got Nick Bonito in the second round that turned
out pretty well, but after that it was Patty had
Greg Dolsic in the third round, the Mury Mathis in
the fourth round. It was a Rique in the fourth round,
Delared Turry Yell in the fifth round, Montreal Washington in
the fifth round, Wattenburg in the fifth round, Matt Henningson
in the sixth round and Fayon Hicks in the seventh round.
Hicks not in the league any more Montreal Washington either.

(02:21):
Henningson probably won't be here beyond his contract. Turnary Yell
same thing. It was a Rique as a maybe, but
probably won't be here beyond his contract, and of course
was suspended for gambling to Murray. Mathis we all saw
what happened there. He's in Carolina, great Dulsitch down in Miami,
and then Benito got paid. So not George Payton's greatest
draft class the Nate Hacket year, but two of those
guys he'd get paid.

Speaker 3 (02:42):
Okay, But once again, here's what I would say about
the draft. It is a hidden miss. You're not going
to hit on every single player, and some of those
players are still on this roster. Turnery Yelled is still
on his roster. He's coming off a knee injury. A
Roser Rique, even after his one year long suspension, is
still with the team, and he's made a couple of

(03:04):
plays of this season. And looking at those players and
not everyone kind of panning out, it's good to say that.
I mean, you had a couple of hits opposed to missus. Right,
It's almost like, would you rather be a one hit
wonder if you were in the band I have no
hits at all.

Speaker 2 (03:25):
Yeah, I mean, obviously he'd rather be the one hit wonder.

Speaker 1 (03:27):
But right, this was George Payton's second draft class, and
it was the Nate Hackett draft year, and obviously a
lot went wrong.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
Better since then, well he got better. He was better
before that.

Speaker 1 (03:36):
I mean it's the draft class before that was Sir
Tan Javonte Quinn, Minors, Baron Browning and John Cooper.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
You know, I mean the draft class before that night
had some misses.

Speaker 1 (03:45):
In the fifth Rock Kaden Sterns, Tomorrow, Johnson, Well, I
wouldn't say Kaye Stearns was as.

Speaker 2 (03:50):
An injury that get railed.

Speaker 1 (03:51):
Yeah, Carrie Vincent was in that class. Of course, he'd
rather cut rap albums to be in the in the league.
Marku Spencer never you know, he got in a one game, Uh,
seth Way got in the two games, had one reception
for thirty four yards and that was really it. So
you know there was some back end of that that
didn't but one through the first to the third round.
Uh is George Peyton's zone. He owns the first to

(04:11):
the third round, and then you know, the John Cooper
thing in the seventh round was just was just a gimme.
You look at the next year the first to the
third round when they didn't have a first and then
Benito and Dulsage dultch.

Speaker 2 (04:21):
Is in Miami. Benito got paid.

Speaker 1 (04:23):
The second and third rounders from the next year would
be Marvin Mims, Drew Sanders not back from injury, and
Ryley Moss. And then you look at the first to
the third rounds. You know, the year after that it's
Bonix and joanah Ellis and then the first to the
third round this past year was Johnny Barron, R. J.
Harvey and Pat Bryant. George Payton owns the first three
rounds of the draft, owns them.

Speaker 3 (04:44):
Well, that's where you do a lot of your your
your homework on a lot of those players, and sometimes
you you take risk on guys who are lord to
your players. And the biggest thing you hope to try
to develop some of those guys into main stays in
the league. And alboul Dare have to say, and I'm

(05:05):
not looking at the entire list, George Paton has had
more hits than missus. And for me, I look at
how those young players actually contribute to the team in
their first two seasons, and I would like to think
a lot of his draft picks they contribute to the team,

(05:25):
whether it's on specialty in the offensive defense in their
first two or three years. And you're getting a lot
of production. Now mean RJ. Harvey is going to be
thrust into the lineup a lot. You think about Joddy Barron,
Pat Bryant, you know, Troy Franklin. Those guys are contributing
factors and what we're seeing from this offense and defensive side.

Speaker 2 (05:47):
Of the ball.

Speaker 3 (05:47):
So you know what it's part for the course, some
guys you hit on, some guys you don't. But when
you look at even John Elway, John Elway's biggest draft
addition to the Broncos is von Miller and he's going
to face off against the Broncos on Sunday.

Speaker 1 (06:04):
Yeah, I mean Alway had some some players over the years.
I mean, you know, yeah, over the.

Speaker 3 (06:09):
Years, but if you wanted to say, well, who's the
player that stands out the most, it is Bike.

Speaker 1 (06:15):
Von Miller was absolutely his best draft pick. And I mean,
you know, you had the second overall pick. He had
a pretty good shot at a good player. They didn't
draft that high again during UH during his tenure, but
you know, I mean he had He was a guy
who was maligned for some of his draft picks, but
I mean he was the guy who got Julius Thomas,
he picked Orlando Franklin. You know, I mean, there was
a lot of people that said that maybe he couldn't

(06:36):
draft the quarterback and that was that was sort of
the issue. But Danny Trevathan was in this league for
a long time. You know, Sevester Williams was in the
league for UH for quite a while.

Speaker 3 (06:45):
Yeah, I mean, hey, you know John Elway, number seven,
missus diver Bronco. I mean, he did a great job
of collecting talent, and I'll say most of that talent
was on the defensive side of the ball. And once again,
when you were in this game. From the scouting standpoint,

(07:07):
you can watch film, you can evaluate, you can predict
or try to project, which most scouts try to do.
But what you can't truly project is how that particular
player is going to perform in the NFL versus elite
competition and then injury factors in and that DeRos the
whole evaluation process.

Speaker 1 (07:28):
Yeah, and it's a little bit different because a lot
of these guys that John drafted went on to have
careers elsewhere. You know, you know, Max Garcia was in
the league for you know, I mean, play one hundred
and twenty two games in the league, Gean. There were
quite a few of these guys that went on to
have careers elsewhere. Bradley Roby, you know, you know, Matt
Parrodis went on, you know, went on elsewhere. So these

(07:50):
guys go on careers elsewhere. To Marcus Walker, he finally
got his shot somewhere else But it's you know, you
look at you look at what it did, and I
think the thing to me, he said, we're drafting, developing,
and paying guys. That the Wattenberg thing. Whatever else do
you think of it? I mean, it's just another indicator
that they're developing guys here and they're paying them to
stay here. The culture is a little bit different than

(08:10):
when John's here.

Speaker 3 (08:11):
Well, especially for a guy who was taking in the
twenty twenty two draft and he was a fifth rounder.

Speaker 2 (08:21):
That's we called that in my neighborhood. To come up.
That's a lottery ticket.

Speaker 3 (08:25):
Now, that's a come up because the idea is that
any player that's drafted after.

Speaker 2 (08:31):
The third round to me is like you kind of
a free agent anyway.

Speaker 3 (08:36):
Right, And for Luke Wattenberg to kind of position himself
to now being part of a starting unit and getting
paid the way that he paid, yeah, he should really
take a step back and look at that and say, well,
things have come full circle for him and as his

(08:56):
team continues to move forward, that would definitely definitely changed.
But I'm sure the Broncos organization they thought about this
leading up to the bye week. There had to be
a lot of conversation about this, and they probably thought, Okay,
we're doing the bye week, which guys who we think
are on expiring deals or could be unexpiring deals in

(09:17):
a couple of years. That would look looking to lock
up right now. And there is a case to be had.
And I know a lot of fans don't like it,
and I know both you and Zach and are huge
fans of it. But if the team continued to ascend
in the playoffs, that number possibly goes up.

Speaker 2 (09:37):
So it's better to strike now.

Speaker 1 (09:40):
Yes, yes, I see some irregularities with snap location NB
seeing bow fishing a ball at the lower jumping up
for a ball.

Speaker 2 (09:46):
I just seen.

Speaker 1 (09:47):
I just seen some stuff that I'm like, I remember
when the Broncos had Matt Parrotis. I'm like, yes, you
should definitely pay him, he is a great center.

Speaker 2 (09:53):
And then they didn't. And then I see Luke Wattenbergan like, well,
I mean there's connuity here. I guess you know kind
of thing. Well, Ben, here's the best and the worst
part for you.

Speaker 3 (10:04):
If Luke plays well from here now in the Broncos run,
you could say, you know what, Yeah, the Broncos got
this deal done and it was very cost effective, even
though it was a pay increase for him.

Speaker 2 (10:18):
But if it doesn't, you can now go back to say, well,
you know what they is in the first place. Yeah,
I don't.

Speaker 1 (10:24):
I don't want to play that. I told you so
gay A lot of people do that. That's not really
that's not really my scene. But I hope this works out.
I hope it works out. I'll just put it that way.

Speaker 2 (10:32):
By the way.

Speaker 1 (10:33):
One of the things that's uh, that's very surprising I
think to a lot of people, and I shouldn't be surprising,
but I guess it is. You know, Justice Sternab was
a John Elway draft pick. A lot of people don't
remember that was an Lway draft pick. He was in
that last draft class out of Wake Forest. Uh, he
was a John Elway draft pick. He was in the
Jerry Judy class. And so that's that's one of those
things I think a lot of people uh sort of forget,

(10:55):
you know, because we do. You know, I like to
laug George Peyton because he's such a great drafter, but
you know, we kind of ding John Elway for a
lot of those drafts.

Speaker 2 (11:04):
Justine Ornah was a John Elway draft pick. Nith Brown
Wake for it.

Speaker 3 (11:07):
That's right, And like Wattenberg, he is stepped into a role.
But unlike Whatttenberg when you talked about being a major
contributor and really and this is what you can do
it on the defensive side of the ball and when
you play center, you can't really do it in that
particular way. But just as sure, no man, if he
does not get that interception of Jackson Dart, the outcome

(11:29):
of that game is entirely different.

Speaker 1 (11:31):
Yeah, very much so. And it very much enabled to
because it fliped field position too.

Speaker 2 (11:36):
You know it did both. I want to swift switch
gears here.

Speaker 1 (11:40):
Yesterday when I was filling in over right, kay sports,
they've asked me off the bat when I thought about
Prime being out there to watch his son.

Speaker 2 (11:47):
You know at that game? Did did you? Did you care?

Speaker 3 (11:50):
Like?

Speaker 2 (11:50):
I didn't care? Like apparently there's a contingent that cares well. Well,
I thought it was. It was great because seeing the footage.
I don't mean that.

Speaker 1 (11:58):
I mean there are people that are mad that he
went to that game instead of staying back and preparing
to whoa, whoa whoa.

Speaker 4 (12:05):
Some people, some buffs fans. I think some that are
already were you one of them?

Speaker 2 (12:10):
Not at all?

Speaker 4 (12:11):
Okay, I think some that are already maybe more predisposed
to be anti Prime. I feel like, well, this shows
that he wasn't preparing as much as he could have
for this weekend's game against Arizona.

Speaker 1 (12:23):
What are they expecting to like, he doesn't rob Livingston
and and well now your interim offensive coordinator, but it
used to be Pat Shermer. Are the guys that prepare
to do that? Brian doesn't do that. That's not what
he does. Also, it's a Sunday game.

Speaker 4 (12:35):
I'd get it if it was a Thursday night game maybe,
but he flew out the next day.

Speaker 1 (12:40):
But Sunday is the day is a college coach, that's
the day you're doing most of your work like that,
Like as a college coach, there a state game as
a coach, though, I'm just saying, like.

Speaker 4 (12:52):
Upcoming game though, not that he would didn't have them
prepared for Arizona State.

Speaker 3 (12:56):
The people, right, who are you are you planning just
for the sake of complaining, because I know if my
son was playing and I had the means to get
back and forth, I'm going to see.

Speaker 1 (13:08):
Him like this is I think it's like I was
fine with I'm like, this is just a basically decent
human thing. It's not like it's a large plane flight
to vacant But did they've have an issue with it?
I mean, he's like, he's like, I go both ways
with it. He's like, if I was my son, you
bet your ass I'd be out there, of course. And
he's like, but on the other hand.

Speaker 2 (13:23):
I get it because those other ninety men out.

Speaker 5 (13:25):
There are you're.

Speaker 2 (13:26):
Having a three wins first of all.

Speaker 3 (13:28):
The other hand doesn't even matter at this point because
the CU record is what it is, right, how much
more are they're gonna improve?

Speaker 2 (13:36):
I guess in the last game not much. And your
son is starting his first NFL game and you can
get there.

Speaker 1 (13:44):
Yeah, I mean, it's only a forty minute flight to Vegas.
Its like it's a you know, I didn't have any
issues with it. I didn't even realize it was an
issue until that got brought up, and then there was
like a mixed bag on the text line of people
that are Some people are like, yeah, you know that
guy's Robin CU of money right now, not praying.

Speaker 2 (13:59):
I'm like that mle extreme man.

Speaker 3 (14:01):
That's a bunch of toil of water to me, because
it's one thing to say that because they're not that
close to the situation, and they may be true fans
of the SeeU buffs, but drop your emotions put.

Speaker 2 (14:13):
Yourself in that position as a father.

Speaker 3 (14:17):
Then you add to the fact that well, all the
health things that coach Prime has been going through, the
latest thing is the whether it was a colding cancer
whatever that was. Right, life is too short. It's a
forty minute flight. You have the means you go watch
your son play, And for me, it was an I

(14:37):
posted this at Nick.

Speaker 2 (14:38):
Ferguson on score twenty five.

Speaker 3 (14:41):
It was emotional and touching for me to see coach
Prime in the tunnel. Now, that is something that not
every father is going to have an opportunity a prevy to.

Speaker 2 (14:54):
But we're talking about the respect.

Speaker 3 (14:56):
Of the game and him being a Hall of Fame
player being able to to see his son talk to
his son before he goes out there on the field.

Speaker 2 (15:04):
To me, that that's that's dope.

Speaker 3 (15:06):
Man. Every father should want to have that moment. We
all are not going to, but that was a dope
feeling right there.

Speaker 1 (15:12):
Whatever else you know, And and there's people that don't like,
you know, he's the way, he's brash and you're facing
all that kind of stuff, whatever else you think about
Theian Sanders, then he's a great father. The dude's there,
like he's there at the you know, he's at the
means and he's there, and there's a lot of guys
at aren't. You know I know some fathers who not Yeah,
I'm just you know, not not there for all of it.

Speaker 2 (15:31):
He's he wanted to be there.

Speaker 1 (15:32):
I mean, Diane got into coaching because he wanted to
spend more time with his sons tell me that dude
didn't need to get into football coaching, you know, and
so he got into it because he wanted to spend
more time with his kids.

Speaker 2 (15:42):
You know.

Speaker 3 (15:42):
It reminds me of someone who coach Prime is quite
familiar with, And he got into the football business because
he wanted to spend more time with his kids.

Speaker 2 (15:50):
And that's Jeffy Jones. Yeah right, yeah, yeah, that was
My father. Had the means, just go buy a football team.
Yeah yeah, let me. I want to spend time with
my kids, not like spends all my kids. I'm going
to go buy the Las Vegas Raiders.

Speaker 3 (16:03):
Come on, man, I mean, sometimes people get upset for
the sake of being upset. This was a great moment
force your dooring, Coach Prime. And it's like your kid
being born for the first time. You gonna have four kids,
but that first child you wouldn't be there for. It's
the same thing.

Speaker 1 (16:19):
Like the player they talk about the play out about
players who miss games to go be with their kids
or whatever, miss practice, go be with their kids. I'm like,
I don't really have a problem with kid being born,
Like I think it's okay.

Speaker 2 (16:29):
I have a problem with that. Dude, who's not there
for him.

Speaker 3 (16:33):
Yeah, that's my problem, but I have no beef for
what coach Prime did being there for his son, and good.

Speaker 2 (16:39):
For those two guys.

Speaker 1 (16:40):
I will say, the clock on him starts next year, though.
You got to start producing results. You got to you
found the quarterback if you bring him back, which all
indicators are that you are. The clock starts now, you
got to start. You're at the point where you got
to start getting results. You got the right off here, agreed,
you got the right off here. You're a year four now,
like the clock starts.

Speaker 2 (16:55):
Now, you got to get the right OC and you
got to get the right old.

Speaker 1 (16:58):
You might already have him with left W, but you
got to get the right guy in the spot. And
it can't be Pat Frickin's Shermer. Good lord, we come
back to the NFL six pack here on Kiawe.

Speaker 2 (17:11):
Decent texts coming in there.

Speaker 1 (17:13):
Three or three said both of you are spitting truth
bombs about Sanders.

Speaker 2 (17:16):
That's a good dad right there there you go.

Speaker 1 (17:20):
Several other people want to know why to use record
is what it is and why they're paying ten million
for that, But that's a lost store. Yes, it's more
than what we're gonna get into right now. I need
a few drinks for that. You know, we could do
for a few drinks, So maybe an NFL six pack.

Speaker 5 (17:31):
It's time for the NFL six path. I'm going to
drink insight and insight information you can't find anywhere else.
I know, the top six NFL headlines.

Speaker 4 (17:44):
What for NFL dot COM's playoff predictor. Outside of the
Denver Broncos game, the outcomes this week that would most
help the Denver Broncos path to the Super Bowl are
the Giants upsetting the Patriots, the Text knocking off the Colts,
and the Cowboys beating the Chiefs on Thanksgiving? Which of

(18:05):
those outcomes is most likely to happen? Which of these
is least likely to happen?

Speaker 1 (18:10):
Uh, Cowboys case or Texans Colts. I don't think the
Giants on which end are going to beat the Patriots?

Speaker 2 (18:18):
What do you mean? I think the Texans could beat
the Colts very much?

Speaker 1 (18:22):
Do Danny Dimes is a living up, so you know
that that's that's potential.

Speaker 2 (18:27):
Cowboys. I think the Cowboys could be the Chiefs too.
I do you know, Cowboys kind of own that Thanksgiving thing.
We'll see I don't know end of the day.

Speaker 1 (18:35):
Here's the thing, though, I'm not sure the Texans knocking
off the Colts actually assists the Broncos now because it
puts Houston. Now we've got the tiebreaker over Houston. But
I don't know that we want to face the Texans
like that. Honestly, they're a sneaky good team and if
they're they're fully healthy. Man or I don't know if
that result we got the last time.

Speaker 2 (18:54):
I think we squeaked away with one.

Speaker 3 (18:55):
They man scared money, don't make money. So for me,
I'll take Houston over to Colts.

Speaker 2 (19:01):
That works.

Speaker 3 (19:02):
But more importantly, my number one would definitely be Dallas
over the Chiefs because you've already beaten Dallas, You've already
beaten Cheese. But this is the Chiefs taking another l.
So that's what I would love to see happen. I
know it is not Christmas, but I'll take it on Thanksgivin.

Speaker 2 (19:17):
Like we already got a leg up on Houston.

Speaker 1 (19:18):
I don't know, like it doesn't I mean, excuse me, Indy, Like,
I don't know that having them win, I don't know
that that hurts us at this point.

Speaker 4 (19:25):
Well, it gives you a little more margin for air
and the chase for the one seed. Now you dropped
a single game in their their vacuum driver's seat for
the one seat in that automatic pie.

Speaker 2 (19:33):
Fair enough, fair enough.

Speaker 1 (19:34):
I just I'm one of those like I look at
those see and I'm Houston's a scarier team. I'm a
little more scared of Houston than I am of India,
if that makes sense. And we beat Houston and barely
lost seat, I'm a little more scared of where Houston
is at this point.

Speaker 2 (19:48):
It's just me on that point. Do you guys think
Casey is more likely.

Speaker 4 (19:52):
Lose to the Chiefs or sorry, the Cowboys this week
on the road or Houston next week at home?

Speaker 3 (20:00):
I think is more of Dallas because Dallas is playing
good football right now and.

Speaker 2 (20:03):
They got to they got some defensive pieces back.

Speaker 1 (20:05):
Defense isn't the same defense it was when we were
playing them, Like they're a better team now.

Speaker 3 (20:09):
And Dallas is doing better job against the runs, something
that Casey can't really do that well.

Speaker 1 (20:14):
So, yes, I had two teams to keep an eye
on this year, Dallas and Arizona. One of them sort
of live it up to the billing. The other one
just keeps losing close games.

Speaker 4 (20:22):
Two two, Yeah, and the Cowboys what isn't even your fault?
The whole Mica Parson situation more trouble in Dallas. Ceedee
Lamb has had eight drops already this season, which is
the most by a Cowboys receiver in a single season
since Dez Bryant had nine in twenty twelve, and obviously

(20:43):
Ceede Lamb's pretty close to surpassing that mark too.

Speaker 2 (20:46):
Do you think Ceedee.

Speaker 4 (20:47):
Lamb will correct his drop problems by the end of
the season. And do you think George Pickens is the
best wide receiver on the Cowboys until Lamb corrects that
drops problem?

Speaker 2 (20:59):
I think they. I think they do two different things.
Ceed works the middle of the field.

Speaker 1 (21:04):
Pickens is mostly a fifty to fifty sidelined eep ball
you know type guy. Pickens has been the higher targeted guy. See,
it's always been a problem with Seede Lamb though since
he came in the league. It's been drops like this
isn't this isn't a new thing for him.

Speaker 2 (21:19):
I don't know. I mean, at the end of the day,
I mean, you need CD to catch balls to be effective.
I would say that Pickens. I don't know if he's
the best, but he's been the most reliable. That's what
I would say.

Speaker 3 (21:28):
Yeah, I would say that Pickens is the most consistent
at this particular moment, and ce D missed some time.
That's why you know Pickens is over a thousand yards
receiving right now. That team is still daily And as
far as Ceedee Lamb solving his drop issues once again

(21:49):
for him, I think he's really simple. His focus on
catching the ball before trying to run with the ball.
How many times have we seen wide receivers trying to
catch and run at the same time. They resolved that issue,
focus on the ball, pull in security, catch and then
work on the yak yards. Well, I don't think that's
not a problem, but that still makes Dallas a very
dangerous team.

Speaker 4 (22:09):
Obviously wasn't a problem last night, But maybe getting some
curtains in that Cowboys stadium would would help the problem,
just at least a little bit.

Speaker 1 (22:17):
Yeah, that laser that you know when you're looking through
in that window and you get in that afternoon, Oh,
it's awful that the ward design. Yeah, Jerry's gonna put
some tint on that window or something.

Speaker 2 (22:25):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (22:27):
Maybe the drops problems fixed themselves. Of his eight drops
this season, six of them came against the Eagles, so
maybe maybe he's fixed that now.

Speaker 5 (22:33):
He's problem not a drop problem free.

Speaker 4 (22:38):
The Buffalo Bills have signed Brandon Cooks after he was
released by the New Orleans Saints.

Speaker 2 (22:43):
Do you think the cook Do you think.

Speaker 4 (22:45):
Cooks will have a large role for the Bills down
the stretch? And do you have any updates on the
poison pill situation regarding Cook's release.

Speaker 2 (22:53):
I don't know if he saw that report.

Speaker 1 (22:54):
From Florida, which I didn't see his report alleging the
Saints can attach some sort of poison pill to Brandon
Cooks Steele.

Speaker 4 (23:02):
When they released him, so that he whichever team picked
him up, would be responsible for the majority of his
remaining cap hit.

Speaker 2 (23:10):
Well, he was released in clear waivers, so that that
doesn't matter.

Speaker 4 (23:12):
I know there was some sort of ill I'll send
you the article, but but mainly I guess do you
think Cooks will have a big impact?

Speaker 3 (23:18):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (23:19):
That poison pills irrelevant at this point, which is why
nobody picked him up off waivers. The other part of
this is I knew Cooks wasn't coming here. I knew
that his relationship with Sean Dayton is not one that's
he wasn't coming here.

Speaker 2 (23:29):
I just put it that way.

Speaker 1 (23:30):
As far as the rest of it, I don't I
mean big impact. No, I think I'll have some impact.
Like they'll they'll put him out there, He'll he'll have
one of those games where everybody's like, oh my.

Speaker 2 (23:40):
God, Brandon Cooks is back, and then.

Speaker 1 (23:41):
You won't hear from again, because that's that's what seems
to happen to.

Speaker 2 (23:45):
Brandon.

Speaker 1 (23:45):
Cook has said every one of his stops he's been on,
what he's hitting for, what he's the Josh Johnson of
wide receivers. At this point, how many teams has he
been on.

Speaker 2 (23:53):
He's been about like like maybe four or five teams.

Speaker 3 (23:57):
But I will say this when the fact that he's
joining the Bills, this is at the right time because
Kenny Coleman has been like a healthy scratch for like
two or three games. And usually when you're a healthy scratch,
the riding is on the wall, the team is upset
with you for any particular reason, and Cooks will fit
in well to.

Speaker 2 (24:17):
Give them somewhat of a threat as a deep shot.
And that is something that I know.

Speaker 3 (24:23):
Josh Allen would definitely welcome because it's about adding weapons.

Speaker 2 (24:28):
And I know it's late in the season, but this was.

Speaker 3 (24:30):
Gonna need because there's a possibility, you know, that the
Broncos could face the Bills at some point.

Speaker 1 (24:37):
By the way, Brady Cook's have been on six teams
and seven stops, right.

Speaker 4 (24:42):
And how many seasons, like eight to nine, not that
many more seasons ie.

Speaker 2 (24:45):
In the league for like twelve years now he came in.
It's been you know, it's been a while. Basically, it's
an average of every two years he's changing teams. You
gotta take digs to it, you know what I mean.
Someone said willing to give him money, so there must
be something they.

Speaker 1 (24:58):
See, Yeah, I guess, although he hasn't had a thousand
yard seasons since twenty twenty one, so.

Speaker 5 (25:05):
Four three two one st.

Speaker 4 (25:13):
The NFL announced at semi finalists for the Pro Football
Hall of Fame this week. Drew Brees, Larry Fitzgerald, Frank Gore,
Philip Rivers, and Jason Witten all have the potential of
being first ballot inclusions into Canton. Of those five, who
do you think should be a first ballot Hall of Famer?

Speaker 2 (25:31):
Well, I think all of them are Hall of famers
per se.

Speaker 1 (25:34):
But if I had to, if we if you forced
me to pick like three or whatever, Breeze and Fitzgerald
would be one and two, and then I'm probably.

Speaker 2 (25:42):
Probably Frank Gore.

Speaker 1 (25:45):
But Phil Rivers and Jason Whittet absolutely deserve the Hall
of Fame too, Like all of those guys are Hall
of Fame to worthy players.

Speaker 3 (25:50):
And you didn't really answer the question. So you of
these five guys, you have to choose one. Now you
feel as though who should be a first ballot? Right,
I'll give you two. You don't have to take jone.

Speaker 2 (26:02):
Who do you think is a first ballot?

Speaker 1 (26:03):
Breeze and Fitzgerald are first ballot guys. I can make
the case for Frank Gore, but I understand if he wouldn't.
And I could make the case for Rivers. I understand
if he would. I could make the case for wouldn't.

Speaker 2 (26:12):
I understand it. But for sure Larry Fitzgerald, Drew Brees
getting in all first ballot. You can make a case
for every one of these guys.

Speaker 3 (26:18):
Yeah, and I played against most of these guys, with
exception of maybe one or two. But looking at this
list is Drew Brees first ballot by far, he was
the first guy to break Dan Marino's five thousand passing
yards in a single season, and then I think he did.

Speaker 2 (26:38):
It three more times. And yeah, he was with Sean
Payton and all they did was throw, throw, throw. But
I mean, for a guy who.

Speaker 3 (26:46):
Was said to be undersized coming out of Purdue, he
made the most of his skill set, and landing with
the Saints really changed the trajectory of his career and
that of Sean Payton as well.

Speaker 1 (26:57):
Yeah, I'll say if Phil Rivers had won a Super Bowl,
think he would be an absolute no brainer as well.

Speaker 2 (27:02):
But Breese Breeze is.

Speaker 1 (27:04):
Like a top five all time NFL player, You know,
Philip Rivers in that top fifteen conversation, but like Breez
a top five player. You put Tom Brady in front
of maybe Peyton Manning and that's it.

Speaker 3 (27:15):
Would you look at Philip Rivers as like this eras
like Dan Fouts.

Speaker 1 (27:18):
I mean, that's the only guy who put up insane
numbers and and but never got to the you know, yeah.

Speaker 2 (27:25):
I never got the promised lamp.

Speaker 4 (27:26):
Probably would you guys actually put Philip Rivers or Eli
Manning into the Hall of fame first. Eli Manning obviously
has the rings argument. Philip Rivers, I think was for
most of his career considered that I played.

Speaker 3 (27:38):
Against both of these guys and and no respect, no disrespect,
no shade. But if I had to choose between the
two quarterbacks, I would say Philip Rivers is a better
quarterback than Eli. Eli played in New York. He is,
his last name is Manning. He was on a great
defense and he made two sensational plays against the go

(27:58):
and that's Tom Brady.

Speaker 1 (28:00):
What if I if I told you, if I told
you that Russell Wilson had twenty more passing touchdowns than
Eli Manning had in his career, I'm not telling the
right touchdowns US has twenty more passion touchdowns.

Speaker 2 (28:12):
Then Eli had his career. What would you say?

Speaker 4 (28:15):
I would throw a darn prey because here's something Nick
doesn't know about me. Maybe I'm not the biggest Russell
Wilson fan. I am an Eli Manning hater. I do
not want to see him in camp music.

Speaker 2 (28:25):
Yeah, iid.

Speaker 1 (28:26):
Phil Rivers absolutely gets in over by the way to
put it, Phil Rivers head. Gosh, how many more touchdowns
he had than Eli Eli had? Like one hundred and seventy.
I think Phil Rivers had like two eighteen. He's five
one hundred on his career. Yeah, so Phil Rivers had
like five hundred or fifty more touchdowns or whatever it
was than Eli Manning did.

Speaker 4 (28:43):
Absurd five Music to My Years, guys, Music to My Ears.

Speaker 2 (28:49):
Music to Grant's Ears.

Speaker 4 (28:51):
Joe Burrow is set to play for the Bengals this
Thanksgiving Hohoday, making his return from a serious turf toe injury.

Speaker 2 (28:58):
When asked about risking injur th for the three and
eight Bengals, being.

Speaker 4 (29:01):
A Burrow excuse me, said, I understand why people feel
that way, but you look.

Speaker 2 (29:05):
At it from my perspective. I'm a football player, and.

Speaker 4 (29:08):
If I get hurt, I'm going to go through the
rehab process, and I'm going to let everyone everybody know
when I feel like I can go out there and play.

Speaker 2 (29:14):
I don't really know what else to say about that.

Speaker 4 (29:17):
I'm not really going to ever go to somebody and say, yeah,
I'm healthy, but I don't think I should play.

Speaker 1 (29:21):
That's still argument ized trying to make earlier about Jayden.
Like ballers want a ball, you.

Speaker 2 (29:25):
Know, like I get it. I mean, sometimes you got
to save a player from themselves. But the Bengals theoretically
are not eliminated yet. I mean, you know, so they're
they're what does it take one more games?

Speaker 1 (29:38):
Washing it, one more lost even day, they still need help.
But I get it, man, ballers with a ball, you know,
like like I get it so and I get his
point of view years like yeah, I mean, if I'm
a player and I get hurt, I'm going through the
rehab process no matter what.

Speaker 2 (29:52):
And it can happen at any time. So I'm going
to be out there and play what I can. I
get it the end of the day.

Speaker 1 (29:57):
There's some legacy stuff too, if you're a quarterback, you know,
like there's some Hall of Fame stuff on the line
in those five or six games where you could be
putting up numbers that might make the difference down the line.

Speaker 2 (30:06):
Balls want to ball, rollers want to row. But I
just want to hate, Yes, I want to love. I
don't even want none of the above.

Speaker 3 (30:13):
Yes, And for me, it's like, look, if you're not
gonna get into the playoffs, you're not gonna make any
noise right now. It's just I understand I wanted to
be competitive, But Joe Burrow should to just sit down.

Speaker 1 (30:26):
Yeah, I mean I should, But I mean if they
lose this game, then I think you do. But you
just you know, go wacko for flak o the rest
of the year.

Speaker 2 (30:32):
But hey, this is me. I wouldn't risk it. Six
last one for you guys.

Speaker 4 (30:40):
Trevon Murrik will be suspended one game after upcoming up
for cutting Jawan Jenning's family jewels during last night's Monday
Night football game. Do you think the suspension is too harsh,
too light or just right?

Speaker 1 (30:54):
That's not harsh enough? Man, you gotta go. I mean,
we're getting one game for spitting on somebody. You only
get one game for for for a jump.

Speaker 2 (31:02):
Punch at upperca. It was not a.

Speaker 1 (31:06):
Yeah, this was like yeah, this was like guy like
you know, uh you know, yeah, this was I mean
he was he was very deliberate, caught in like eight
K came. You guys aren't getting away with stuff. Now
you gotta stop doing that. You're not gonna go away
with it. Yeah, how, I mean, what are we what
are we doing here? One one game for spinning is
the same thing as one game for punching a guy

(31:26):
in a junk.

Speaker 3 (31:27):
Well, well, shouldn't he got at least two games because
you know there's two two guys who surrendered to friendly fire,
right yeah, so one for spitting and two for you know,
hitting the guy, and is just what.

Speaker 1 (31:40):
I'm saying, like you could do They could have done
damage there, Man, you couldn't.

Speaker 2 (31:43):
Hey, that's Family Jewels for real.

Speaker 4 (31:45):
I'm just saying it's unreal to me. I don't know
how you think you're gonna get away with that. When
ESPN has enough cameras in all of these stadiums that
they can turn any given play into a VR video game.
I mean they got all the scanning every into that field,
up and down.

Speaker 2 (32:01):
Like, man, they could make a video game recreation. I
should have been the John cartoon g had.

Speaker 1 (32:06):
A Saturday morn where they switched to VR mode or
whatever you see or like that's just.

Speaker 3 (32:10):
Like the Albut Handsworth stepped on someone that didn't think
anyone going to see as.

Speaker 2 (32:14):
Large as he is. We soon got out at the
right time. Man, I got too many cameras. What are
we doing?

Speaker 3 (32:18):
Man?

Speaker 2 (32:19):
Man, it's so ridiculous.

Speaker 3 (32:21):
Someone hits me in the Jewels, Man, I'm going hand
I mean, consider the fact that I could actually you
hit me.

Speaker 1 (32:30):
You have put your life in your hands at that point, like,
I'm not taking murder you yeah up or cut me
in the junk.

Speaker 2 (32:36):
It's over for you. I'm just saying, you're with the Bear.
