Nick, I know you love doing that every year, every.
Speaker 3 (00:47):
Single year, man, because it's awesome. You get so many.
Speaker 4 (00:50):
Stories once you can help everyone, but you can't, and
it's so emotional, but you try to do what you
can in the station and the sponsors, no, they definitely
pulled out the thoughts and try to.
Speaker 2 (01:02):
Hemp out well, someone that always helps us break down
the Broncos wins this year with tremendous coverage in the
Denver Post. Parker Gabriel heading out to the Kawa Common
Spirit Health hotline.
Speaker 1 (01:12):
Parker, how are you to night man?
Speaker 5 (01:15):
I'm doing well.
Speaker 1 (01:15):
You guys doing We are doing good? What did you think?
Did you so?
Speaker 2 (01:19):
I had this debate with Nick earlier in the show
and yesterday off air. I called it a dominant wind
for the Broncos against the Raiders.
Speaker 1 (01:27):
Nick called it an efficient wind. Where do you land
on it?
Speaker 5 (01:31):
Efficiently? Dominant?
Speaker 1 (01:33):
There we go?
Speaker 5 (01:34):
No, I mean, yeah, dominant mostly, I would say, you know,
obviously there was a you know, the opening drive and
then the last whatever three minutes and fifty seconds. Maybe
just lead you a little bit away from that, but yeah,
I mean, offensively, it was pretty close to dominant, even
though it wasn't particularly flashy. It wasn't, you know, forty
(01:57):
five points or anything like that. But when you mount
three fourteen plus play drives that end in points, you're
obviously you're obviously doing something right. You could say, while
they only scored, you know, they scored three times offensively,
nothing right? Hold about but they really only had five
full possessions because of the amount of time they held
the ball on those three long drives.
Speaker 4 (02:18):
All right, Patrick, everyone has their difference of excuse me, Parker,
everyone has their difference of opinion as far as where
this team is locally is viewed a little different from
the national perspective since you covered the team locally. How
great is it to have this team be way they
are right now on the verge of clinching a playoff birth,
(02:41):
not just you know, the AFC West, you still have
to wait for that, but just having this winning streak
the way that they are. I mean, we haven't had
around around these parts in a long time. So how
do you look at and assess it as far as
an overall team effort?
Speaker 5 (02:57):
Yeah, I look at it like it's the best team performance,
you know, in a decade since since the Super Bowl
Teaven fifteen. You know, It's just there's not a lot
of arguing that now, you know, are they among the
great NFL regular season teams of the last decade. They've
won ten games in a row, so they're not at
the bottom of the list. Obviously, They've been really, really
(03:19):
good defensively, so they've got that going for him. The
offense is just kind of coming around a little bit.
Speaker 1 (03:25):
Now.
Speaker 5 (03:25):
No one's gonna look at this group and say that
it's like the fourteen Broncos or like the you know,
the Height of New England with Tom Brady or or
you know, the Greatest Show on Turf or anything like that. Offensively,
but they've got the job then when they needed to.
They've won a lot of close games, so you get
some you know, you get some vibes of like the
(03:48):
Vikings a couple of years ago. But the Vikings I
think had a negative point differential, So this isn't that.
I mean, they're a really good team. And frankly like, yeah,
I mean, would it be a little it would there
be a little bit of nerves and anxiety if you've
got you know, Josh Allen or or Justin Herbert or
(04:08):
you know Patrick Mahomes, although less and less likely by
the week coming to Denver in the postseason. Sure of
course there would be. But this this conference is wide open,
and if there's a year that you can make a
run through the playoffs, I mean this is this is
one of them. So yeah, I mean they're not perfect
by any stretch. But if won ten games in a row,
(04:29):
that doesn't happen by accident, and they've got a chance
to spend all of January and Denver. I mean, it's
it's hard to uh hard to find better than that
around the NFL right now.
Speaker 1 (04:38):
Might just be one of those years, folks. It might
just be Thank you, Dave. Talking with Parker Gabriel of
the Denver Post.
Speaker 2 (04:45):
This remaining schedule for the Broncos not an easy road
to stay atop the AFC alongside the New England Patriots.
Speaker 1 (04:52):
Of course, that's why that Raiders game was so big.
Speaker 2 (04:54):
The Broncos have those common opponent tiebreaker locked up now.
But you got the Packers this weekend at home, you
got the Jaguars, you got the Chiefs who may be
fighting for their playoff lives at that point on Christmas,
and then wrap up the season with the Chargers, who
we saw beat the Eagles last night and overtime. What
is your confidence level on them staying atop the AFC
(05:16):
and getting that number one seed in the playoffs.
Speaker 5 (05:19):
Yeah, I mean, they've got a shot. Like it's it's
hard to bet against them. But I think if you
I think, if you'd watch the Patriots every every week
this year, you'd say the same thing about them, you know, obviously,
like you always. I just wrote I wrote this today
and in something, and it's really true. Like watching Kansas
City lose on Sunday night was the first time that
(05:40):
ever really crossed my mind, is like, oh, they might
not make the playoffs, not just the West, like the
Broncos have been a good shape in the West for
really since they beat Kansas City, but like, oh yeah, yeah,
I mean, this might might just be a year without
Patrick Mahomes and company, like in the playoffs at all.
And in some ways, like Baltimore has just had a
(06:01):
bad year. There's there's no two ways around. If they've
been really bad offensively, Lamar Jackson hasn't played well in
the last few weeks, which is really sort of bizarre
to watch, but you have sort of vibes of the
same feeling about Baltimore. And then obviously Buffalo's got it
going out, so in New England has a tough stretch.
Their next two games are against Buffalo and Baltimore, and
(06:21):
then the last two are against Miami, who's actually playing
pretty well, and then I think they close against the
Jets Mayvy. So that's like, on paper, that's an easier
four than the Broncos have. But if the Broncos, you know,
come out even and you know they could go they
could both go too and two, they could both go
three and one, they both win their last four, like
(06:42):
the Broncos are gonna end up with the one seed.
So I think the inside track matters a lot. It
remains to be seen what Kansas City and or the
Chargers will be playing for the last two weeks of
the season. So yeah, it's a difficult road, but you know,
they certainly got a plug chance, even if a lot
of the models don't think they're exactly the favorites for
(07:04):
the one seed right now.
Speaker 4 (07:05):
So all week long, I've been bringing up, or not
even all week long, I guess since the midpoint of
the season, bringing up the conversation of Marvin Mims. And
I know that he is a dynamic special teams player.
Speaker 3 (07:19):
We see it every week.
Speaker 4 (07:20):
We saw it in the Raiders game with his part
return for a touchdown, but we really haven't seen him
kind of really explode from a target standpoint.
Speaker 3 (07:29):
And I'm not going to ask you, well, why is
that the case?
Speaker 4 (07:32):
But what I will ask you, Parker, is how important
is it for the Broncos to get Marvin Mims more
involved in the offense from a pass catchy standpoint.
Speaker 5 (07:45):
Well, I think you can. I mean, I think it's important,
and Sean Payton yesterday said it's important. And yet I
mean we've sort of heard that line a lot of
times over the last couple of years, and only in
sits and spurts, as it actually resulted in in Marvin
Min's having you know, high levels of production. I get it,
like the way that Champaygnon system is designed. The ball
(08:07):
goes a lot of different places, and you know, you're
manufacturing targets for Courtland Sutton, You're manufacturing targets for having Ingram,
You're manufacturing targets for your running backs. So I'm not
sitting here saying, oh, Marvin Mims should be getting you know, nine, ten,
twelve targets a game. But I do think it's fair
(08:27):
to point out that a year ago he really went
off the last month of the season, and you know,
oh lo and behold the Broncos in their last you know,
four games of the regular season, score thirty one, twenty seven,
twenty four and thirty eight. You can go back a
little further than that to win. That run started for
him against Cleveland forty one. So when they were scoring
(08:49):
a lot of points late in the year and bo
Nix put together, you know, statistically some of his gaudiest
performances of his rookie year. You know, Marvin Mims was
a big part of that. And so yeah, yeah, I
mean it would be great to be beneficial if you
can find ways to get him the ball. He hasn't
add a target of ten plus air yards since the
(09:11):
Giants game in the week. I don't know how involved
he's going to be the last four games, but I
have to imagine that street.
Speaker 1 (09:17):
Sending at some point, I certainly hope.
Speaker 2 (09:20):
So, Parker, you're a huge part of our BCT community.
Appreciate your time as always, man, and enjoy the game
on Sunday.
Speaker 3 (09:26):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (09:27):
Thanks, I's a good night, Parker.
Speaker 1 (09:29):
Gabriel.
Speaker 2 (09:29):
Check out his great work in the Denver Post and
talking about Marvin Mims, I just want to hear this
call from Dave one more.
Speaker 6 (09:35):
Time, driving kick Mimes on a gallop from the forty eight.
Marvin in trouble, steps.
Speaker 7 (09:40):
Out of a tackle and here we go Marvin's loose
plays draw a Raider down the sideline twenty fifteen.
Speaker 3 (09:46):
Ten five touchdown.
Speaker 8 (09:49):
Marvin Mims a put a return of forty eight yards.
He looked like he was tackled by a sea of
black jerseys. Then got out to the lone Raider with
a couple of blockers in front. That Jail Skinner a
really nice block on the punter that freed Mems to
(10:11):
saunter down the Broncos sideline into the Raider end zone.
Speaker 2 (10:14):
Sauntered right into that end zone, his first career punt
returned touchdown. As we mentioned in the first hour with
Steve and Nick, you said, after we got done having
that conversation with Steve, something.
Speaker 1 (10:25):
Came to you. A little light bulb went off on
your head about Marvin Memes.
Speaker 3 (10:29):
Okay, so just took this out.
Speaker 4 (10:32):
So the Broncos have added two wide receivers, Elijah Moore
and the Jordan Humphrey. Since le Jordan Humphrey has been
here with the Denver Bronco, let's talk about even the
last game. He's had three targets in the Raiders game
counted one, two, three.
Speaker 3 (10:49):
You know how many.
Speaker 4 (10:50):
Targets Marvin Memms has had over the last two games,
three targets. Three targets, one in the one Commanders game
and I believe two in the Race game. Now, how
is it that le Jordan Humphrey hasn't been with the
team all season long? He comes and joins the team
in the Raiders game, he has the same amount of
targets in one game as Marvin Mammess had two games.
Speaker 3 (11:14):
Please explain, you.
Speaker 1 (11:16):
Can explain it.
Speaker 2 (11:17):
I mean, and after what he put up at the
end of last year, like Parker was mentioning when the
Broncos offense was humming Marvin Memmes was involved, I mean,
he tore apart my Cincinnati Bengals in that game. He's
had a huge game against the Browns, like if Sean
Payton sees that last year. I don't understand why it's
off to such a slow start this year.
Speaker 1 (11:39):
I mean, we're fourteen weeks into the season.
Speaker 3 (11:43):
That's exactly what I'm saying.
Speaker 4 (11:44):
And I approach this not from just from the visual
standpoint of the offense, but I approached it from a
defensive standpoint because that's.
Speaker 3 (11:53):
The side of the ball that a coach and that
played on.
Speaker 4 (11:56):
And I'm saying, Okay, well, in order for the Broncos
to take this offense to a whole different level. In
that term that you use and Parker use, and so
many others use as far as dominant, in order for
that word to become a staple of the lexicon of
the Denver Broncos fan base, you need to lean on
every single player in their skill set that you have.
(12:19):
So for Marvin Mems not to be involved, and then
now the idea is that, okay, well, there was some
of a come to Jesus meeting and you realize that
Marvin was not involved.
Speaker 2 (12:30):
Okay, well we just figured this out, right, And I'm thinking.
Speaker 4 (12:34):
Like, well, then we go through this last season and
I don't know what's going on. I don't know if
it's Marvin's routes. I don't know why he seemed to
be in the doghouse and not being utilized in the
way that I feel as though he would be utilized
with the skill set with any other team.
Speaker 3 (12:51):
I had no idea.
Speaker 4 (12:52):
And then I always go back to this, right, I
watched Marvin Mims not be a part of the offense,
and like Parker in the back half for the season
when the Broncos, starting with the Broncos playing against Cincinnati.
I believe that was maybe Sunday Night football. He goes
off with two explosives. Yeah, and I'm like, Okay, I've
been waiting for this. Here we go, big dog, and
(13:14):
then we roll into this season. I'm like, man, we're
dealing with goddamn power puppies.
Speaker 1 (13:20):
What do you think of the narrative.
Speaker 2 (13:21):
I've been hearing this from a couple of people around
the Denver media that well, he's too valuable to special
teams that we can't we can't get him too involved
in offense.
Speaker 4 (13:30):
I'm sorry, what he's too valuable to special teams? You
know if that sounds that sounds like a justification to me, right,
a justification Like you apply for a job, someone tells you, right,
either one or two things. You're overqualified or you're underqualified.
All it is is justifications not to hire you for
(13:53):
a position that you're qualified for. It doesn't make it right,
so we can fabricate. Because here's also what I'm hearing,
and I'm hearing it from multiple people. I don't know
if you heard it, but it was the fact that, well,
the Broncos are holding off on certain play calls because
they're waiting for the playoffs. That's when they're going to
unleash the beasts.
Speaker 1 (14:13):
I'm sorry, what, Yeah, that doesn't make any sense to me.
Speaker 4 (14:17):
You know what, Sometimes I let people talk. Man, it
just is like a blow dryer, nothing but hot air
coming out of it.
Speaker 3 (14:24):
Right, But I said, Dren.
Speaker 4 (14:26):
Listen because I don't want to say that to someone. Right,
I'm out entertained what they're saying. But then I got
to stop them.
Speaker 3 (14:32):
Will hold on dog? No, no, no, no, no. Explain that
to me.
Speaker 4 (14:37):
So you're saying that you're going to hold back plays
and then you're not going to call them into the playoffs.
Speaker 3 (14:45):
That is your justification.
Speaker 4 (14:47):
And I've heard that from multiple people, and I can't
still believe that that is somewhat of a narrative and
it makes sense.
Speaker 2 (14:54):
Well, speaking of justifications, how do you explain the Packers
being favorite coming into Empower Field at Mile High on Sunday?
Speaker 1 (15:02):
Packers are favored by two and a half.
Speaker 4 (15:05):
Well, it's only two and a half points, so it's
not like it's twelve. Right, So they're saying as though
they're projecting this to be one heck of a game,
because think about it, you have the Packers who are
they're leading I believe that the AFC, I'm excuse me,
the NFC North and the Broncos are leading the ANFC West.
(15:27):
So you have two quarterbacks who are dynamic, They have
that backyard football type of ability to escape the pocket.
You have a defense that's a dominating defense in the Broncos.
Speaker 3 (15:39):
They have a league leading what I'm let.
Speaker 2 (15:42):
Me see, i'm many sacks fifty They.
Speaker 4 (15:45):
Have fifty something sacks, and you think about the Packers.
The Packers have thirty three sacks, which puts them at eleven.
So they have Michael Parson, right, So you're figuring as
though this is going to be a dual game. And
they have two smart coaches and Jeff Hafley who I
worked for when I was a member of the San
Francisco forty nine ers coaching staff. And you had Matt Lafour,
(16:05):
who I mean, he was a coach when I played.
So you have some great coaches and they're hoping that
this is going to be one of those epic games.
Speaker 1 (16:14):
I hope it's an epic game. I hope the Broncos
win it.
Speaker 2 (16:16):
We had Garrett Bowles on KOA Sports earlier today and
Ryan asked him about being an underdog against the Packers.
We'll get to that answer in the next hour.
Speaker 1 (16:24):
But when we come back, we've got the week fourteen
recap on Broncos Country to Night on KOA, Nick, I'm
going to do our little Week fourteen recap.
Speaker 3 (16:35):
Let's do it.
Speaker 2 (16:38):
The week that was in the NFL will start, of course,
as we always do with Thursday Night football, the Cowboys
and the Lions and a shootout with this run from
Jamior Gibbs kind of sealed the deal for the Lions.
Speaker 9 (16:51):
Hand off to Gibbs working the right side walk road
front of the ten.
Speaker 3 (16:55):
Gibbs get big to the five over.
Speaker 1 (16:57):
The x all for a touchdown.
Speaker 10 (17:00):
Kristen Cologne was the convoy to lead Gibbs to the
promised land.
Speaker 2 (17:06):
Kevin Coogler with Westwood One on the call and man
like I said, it was a shootout for quite some time.
Cowboys looked like they figured some things out, but the
Lions winning at home.
Speaker 4 (17:16):
Yeah, the Lions went at home and Samir Gibbs continues
to be the lynchpin for their offense. If you are
needed of a big play, just give it to him
and he's gonna give it to you, and he's gonna
deliver it.
Speaker 3 (17:28):
Sounds like a X man gonna give it to you,
give it to you.
Speaker 1 (17:32):
You ever heard DMX is a Christmas wrath? No, I'll
play that for you some time. No, it's gold. It's
exactly what you think it would be.
Speaker 3 (17:42):
Yelling at the kids.
Speaker 1 (17:43):
Next Seahawks at the Falcons. Second down and eleven at
the Falcons twenty eight, JSM to.
Speaker 11 (17:50):
The nearer side play fake blitz is coming, throw inside
on the slant.
Speaker 1 (17:54):
It's clocked.
Speaker 6 (17:54):
JFN breach to tackle.
Speaker 1 (17:56):
He ain't gonna go in touchdown here.
Speaker 2 (17:59):
Hawks Steve Rabele of kiro on the call and JSN
man he looks like a top five receiver and the
Seahawks look dangerous heading into the playoffs.
Speaker 4 (18:09):
Yeah, you know, JAYSM only adds to the pot of
receivers that played in the Seattle Seahawks the offense and
you thought, no, Tyler Lockett, they get rid of DK
Metcalf and you like their office is going to fall apart.
Speaker 3 (18:23):
But the Klint Kolbak is doing a great job in.
Speaker 4 (18:25):
JSM man, he's leading the NFL and receiving yard, so
dominating performance.
Speaker 1 (18:31):
Yeah, maybe my best pick in fantasy this year. All
you got him? I got him. Oh I'm pretty late too.
I think people were expecting this big breakout year for him.
Speaker 3 (18:41):
No good for him though.
Speaker 2 (18:42):
Next the Steelers at the Ravens. I called this game
last week on pick him.
Speaker 11 (18:47):
Warreners to the right, Rogers in the shotgun, gets a
snap back to pass Roaster warned the.
Speaker 7 (18:50):
Right five wide open, scooting down the right sideline pass
Root there is nobody there, and he's in for the score.
Speaker 5 (18:57):
Jell and Warner's short.
Speaker 8 (18:59):
Pass out through the and he goes thirty eight yards
in for the touchdown.
Speaker 2 (19:04):
Rob King with WDVE on the call. Steelers in first
place in the AFC North.
Speaker 4 (19:09):
This nak James Harrison and Ben Roethlisbergers who former Pittsburgh
Steelers players, were calling for the Steelers to move off
from Mike Tomlin, and everyone's questioning, well is this a
collapse of Mike Tomlin and Aaron Rodgers.
Speaker 3 (19:23):
But then DK Metcalf goes off for one forty game.
He's like, hold on, now we need to reverse this
thing because the Steelers are not just done yet.
Speaker 2 (19:30):
Did you see DK Metcalf on the putt team Gunners
got hurt and He's like, don't worry this once in college,
I'll do it again. And he looked pretty good out there.
I don't think he wants your thirty million dollars re out.
Speaker 3 (19:42):
There at one time, you know that.
Speaker 1 (19:45):
But when the duty calls, he answers yes absolutely. Next game,
Titans at the Browns.
Speaker 2 (19:50):
We heard of Shador Sanders highlight earlier, but it was
Tony Pollard running all over that Browns defense.
Speaker 8 (19:55):
Gordon shotgun Pollard to his right, Pollard inside handle, twenty.
Speaker 3 (20:00):
Five, goodbye, good bye.
Speaker 7 (20:03):
That is a Titans touchdown thirty two more yards for
Tony Pollard had the Titans had the.
Speaker 2 (20:10):
Lead back Taylor is our Zor with WGFX on the call.
Another guy on my fantasy team didn't do anything all year.
Speaker 1 (20:17):
But uh, just stepping up big right before the playoffs.
Titans win that game against the Browns.
Speaker 4 (20:22):
Hey, that was a great game to watch, and I
know maybe not too many people wanted to.
Speaker 3 (20:25):
Watch it, but I watched it for you know.
Speaker 4 (20:28):
The whole camp boys, Shador Sanders, Sting and Shador you know,
did this thing.
Speaker 3 (20:32):
But I mean the.
Speaker 4 (20:33):
Defense couldn't stand tall against Toleny part of one hundred
and sixty one yards rushing.
Speaker 3 (20:38):
Yeah, that's that's embarrassing for a defense.
Speaker 2 (20:40):
Shador Sanders named the starter even though he was for
the rest of the year, even though he was taking
out on that crucial two point conversion play to tie
the game late. What do you think of Shador's performance overall?
Speaker 4 (20:52):
I like his performance. I'm not like these other critics
who have kind.
Speaker 3 (20:55):
Of overanalyzed him.
Speaker 4 (20:59):
But now you are kind of backpedaling right now, backpedaling
faster than his dad, Dion Sanders. But when you look
at what happens when you give a guy enough time
and you pour into them, what's possible to happen?
Speaker 2 (21:12):
Colts at the Jags tough story coming out of this
one with Daniel Jones Achilles tear, but the Jags taking
over first place in the AFC South.
Speaker 11 (21:20):
Not gun formation against the foreman front inside hand.
Speaker 7 (21:23):
Office is Travis etn twenty five twenty fifteen ten five
Oh the white sidelight touched up Travis.
Speaker 1 (21:30):
Twenty nine yards touchdown running Jacksonville. He's extended the league.
Frank Fanji.
Speaker 2 (21:36):
With WJXL on the call and the Jags looking like
a playoff team, how are you feeling about their performance
on Sunday against the Colts and the Broncos upcoming matchup
with them in a couple of weeks, Well.
Speaker 4 (21:47):
That matchup is going to be really interesting because here's
what Jacksonville is doing well and you just played the highlight.
Travis etn is a godsend for Trevor Lawrence and most
people kind of threw Trevor to the side and say
that he was a buzz But this proves to you
if you have a run game that a couple of
minutes your quarterback and you play decent defense, it might
(22:08):
be in the playoff pitcher.
Speaker 3 (22:10):
I'm just saying.
Speaker 1 (22:11):
I'm just saying.
Speaker 2 (22:12):
Commanders at the Vikings did not see this one being
so lopsided.
Speaker 11 (22:16):
McCarthy empty backfield, three receivers right to left, first down
from the Commander's eighteen poor man rush JJ zone, Jane
yard touchdown to Josh Oliver.
Speaker 2 (22:31):
The legendary Paul Allen with KFA N on the call,
and the nine alter ego coming back out for JJ McCarthy.
They shut out the Commanders at home thirty one to nothing.
Speaker 4 (22:42):
Yeah, I didn't really see this outcome taking place, especially
after how well the command has played the Denver Broncos
the week before, and you know, for JJ McCarthy, he's
good for one.
Speaker 3 (22:53):
Of these games, like he's like the stock market.
Speaker 5 (22:56):
He's up. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (22:58):
So I don't know what's gonna happen the next week.
Speaker 4 (23:00):
But far as this week was well, last week was concerned,
he played pretty well.
Speaker 1 (23:05):
Don't look now.
Speaker 2 (23:05):
The Dolphins may be sneaking into the playoff pixture.
Speaker 12 (23:08):
Pistol formation eight chan first and ten at the twelve
yard line, fishes hey eight ten left.
Speaker 1 (23:14):
Side right to get around the court. Frons the back kid,
Yeah fine, Fyle Dolphins, Jimmy Safalo with WBGG on the call,
and man Dolphins winning quite a few games in a
row after they get rid of their GM, and it
looks like at least you know you got you're safe
at head coach and quarterback going in the next year.
Speaker 4 (23:33):
Well, I guess I would say I'll count my eggs
before they hatch. Anything can happen between now and then.
As far as Stephen Rosson designing what he's gonna do
where he's gonna keep Mike mcdays with the one thing
that the Dolphins are definitely doing well, they are guess
what picture this for a moment they're running the feature
ball with a hin with a lot of success that
(23:53):
is gonna be down the stretch the narrative, can't you
run the ball?
Speaker 1 (23:58):
Well? Speaking of running, the Saints at the Bucks upset
of the week in my opinion, and sorry, Tyler Shuck,
I was unfamiliar with your game.
Speaker 7 (24:06):
Shuck, keeps it wept side inside the thirty shuck twenty shuck.
Speaker 4 (24:10):
Ten Tyler Shuck touch down for Tyler Shuck.
Speaker 7 (24:15):
Running the football all the way from thirty four yards out.
Speaker 1 (24:20):
Man, what a run from Tyler Shuck. Mike Coss with
WWL on the call, did you see this one coming?
Because I did not. I thought that this was gonna
be an easy win for the Bucks.
Speaker 4 (24:29):
Yeah, I thought this was gonna be an easy win
for Baker and the Boys. But all I can say,
Grant is aw, shucks.
Speaker 1 (24:38):
I see what you did. Then? Yeah that was good.
Speaker 2 (24:41):
I like that Game of the week didn't work out
the way I wanted it too, with the Bengals at
the Bills, back and forth in the snow, exactly what
you want to see from a football game. But this
tick six from Joe Burrow kind of broke the straw
on the Camel's back.
Speaker 1 (24:56):
Girl under center on first and ten for the thirty three.
Speaker 7 (25:00):
Intercepted jumping over the air is Bedford gets away from
Burrow thirty twenty ten five er AFC Defensive Player.
Speaker 1 (25:09):
Of the Week has done it again. Christian Bedford with
a go ahead touchdown. Chris Brown with wgr on the call,
full of emotion on that one and as he should
have been.
Speaker 2 (25:22):
What a game, Josh Allen. I think he may have
solidified MVP number two in that game, putting the team
on his back.
Speaker 4 (25:28):
Well, I don't think one game sample size would have
done that. But here's what I would say. I was
highly impressed for a guy who hadn't played for fifty
period of time and you're playing inclent weather, you throw
to interception, you played the pick six, but Joe Burrow
was still being Joe cool. And what I thought about
this game, it took me back to my childhood, those
(25:50):
games where I used to watch Miami player against Buffalo.
You had Dan Marino versus Jim Kelly. Yeah, that's exactly
what that game seemed like to me.
Speaker 1 (25:57):
I mean, is there anything better in the NFL than
to elite quarter backs going at it like that?
Speaker 2 (26:02):
Was just so impressive. You know, the defense was we're
making play, well, not so much the Bengals team. If
my plow Bell's defense is making plays. I mean, that's
exactly like when I picture football in my mind. That's
what I want a game to look like, like to
get two teams going at it in the snow, but
two of the best at their position, maybe of all time,
and going back and forth until the end.
Speaker 3 (26:23):
See.
Speaker 4 (26:23):
I like those types of matchups. But for me, an
all time game would be a baseball score nine to six.
Speaker 1 (26:30):
All defense. Defensive guys. You know, it's more entertaining watching
the offense put up points.
Speaker 4 (26:36):
No, I want to see the blintz and the games
and the twists and the sacks and the pick sixes.
Speaker 1 (26:40):
By the way, I wish I could give them credit.
Speaker 2 (26:42):
I forget who was calling the game on TV, but
they called Joe Burr snow Burr.
Speaker 1 (26:47):
I like that, Nick Kay. They would have stuck if
he would have won. Y Bears at the Packers. Another
great game and Chicago forty five for the Packers.
Speaker 12 (26:58):
Working from left to right, shotgun, here's to snap Jordan
love Blet's time they pick it up. Good block that
time from the running back block Rambas middown back, Yes,
touchdown forty five yards.
Speaker 1 (27:14):
Oh what I'd give to have that voice of Wayne
Laramie Laravi.
Speaker 2 (27:18):
With w R and w H Packers taking over the
lead in the NFC North and the Broncos next to pointed,
they seem like they're firing on all cylinders right now.
Speaker 4 (27:27):
Well you know what they are break because a couple
of weeks ago, it didn't look that way. It looked like, okay,
well they're falling apart. They were having injuries. But they
got Josh Jacobs back, they got Christian Watson back who
had him exposed to play.
Speaker 3 (27:40):
And that's what the Broncos have to keep in mind.
Speaker 4 (27:42):
They want to make sure Jordan Love is not taking
the top off the defense because he is not afraid
to do that.
Speaker 2 (27:47):
Rams bouncing back in a big way after their upset
loss to the Panthers last week.
Speaker 1 (27:54):
Beaten down the Cardinals.
Speaker 11 (27:55):
Stafford gets a new possession in plus territory short set
a ball fit heat wheels, He deals jumpy at.
Speaker 7 (28:02):
The five Poka.
Speaker 5 (28:05):
On one play a thirty one yard strike.
Speaker 10 (28:08):
Pusa Nikola's a new career high in.
Speaker 2 (28:12):
Touchdowns hooka Nikua so good and I mean with Davante
Adams on the other side, that is a dangerous duo.
Speaker 1 (28:20):
JB. Long from KSPN on the call. Uh, you think
they're one of the favorites to come out of the NFC.
You think them? Is it between them and the Packers? Hey,
I think the Seahawks.
Speaker 4 (28:29):
I guess exactly. That's what I was gonna tell you.
It's it's the Rams over everyone else. But the Packers
have a chance, and so do the Seahawks. But you
know what they all have in common. They run the
same damn offense.
Speaker 5 (28:42):
Right.
Speaker 3 (28:43):
That's why it's not surprising.
Speaker 4 (28:44):
And that's another reason why I'm upset that Mike Shanahan
is not in the Hall of Fame. But yet I digress.
But when you look at the Rams, Blake Crome, the
backup running back.
Speaker 1 (28:53):
He ran for one forty eight yard touchdown run once again,
vent running the ball.
Speaker 3 (28:59):
It's a thread.
Speaker 2 (29:02):
And the demise, Well, we won't put the nail on
the coffin yet, but it's getting closer. Texans take down
the Chiefs. Patrick Mahomes three interceptions.
Speaker 10 (29:11):
When receivers left and right shut down, snapped the beholds
back to throw on second at ten he looks, he
double clutches, he throws.
Speaker 1 (29:17):
He's bobbled.
Speaker 10 (29:18):
It is intercepted, maybe looking for a single. I think
the Texans picked it off Ausi's Al Shier intercepted it
off the deflection and the Texans have their third takeaway
of the game.
Speaker 3 (29:33):
But that hit Kelsey in the hands again.
Speaker 2 (29:37):
Ryan Ragkey with Westwood One on the call, I feel
like that play in particular encapsulates the Chief season so
well this year, you go to your go to guy
for Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelcey. He juggles the ball and
it's intercepted by that amazing Houston Texans defense.
Speaker 11 (29:53):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (29:54):
I'm surprised that watching that game when Travis Kelsey had
that kofo fu, Mike tik going, NBC didn't go to
Taylor Swift.
Speaker 5 (30:02):
In the box.
Speaker 1 (30:03):
Oh that's a good play.
Speaker 4 (30:04):
Yes, So listen, man, this team seems a little exhausted,
they seem a little frustrated, and we're seeing I guess
maybe not for Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid, but we've
seeing the last legs of one Travis Kelsey.
Speaker 2 (30:17):
Yeah, I think maybe it's a it's maybe not the
end of their dynasty overall, but certainly the end of
this version of this dynasy, they're gonna move on from
some guys after this year. Last night, Monday Night Football
is superhuman performance from Justin Herbert with that hamburger helper
glove on his hand. But the kicker Cameron Dicker coming
up big a couple of times, including this kick in overtime.
Speaker 9 (30:41):
Kicker to get the lead on a fifty four yard
field goal. Paul put down, White put the kickers hand over,
Randers up. It is god fifty four yard field goal
to begin over time.
Speaker 2 (30:55):
Kevin Harlan with Westwood one on the call, and man,
have you ever seen somebody turn the ball over twice
on the same play, Because that's what Jalen Hurts did
last year.
Speaker 3 (31:03):
I did see that.
Speaker 4 (31:04):
I think that's, if I'm not mistaken, that's the first
time that's ever happened.
Speaker 2 (31:08):
So according to ESPN this morning, it's the first time
since at least nineteen seventy eight, because that's when they
started keeping track of stuff like that. So it maybe
has never happened, but at least not since nineteen seventy eight.
Speaker 4 (31:21):
Well, what it reminds me, I've seen defensive players do
it all the time. Instead of trying to just fall
on the ball and the feet of position like you
coached to, guys are trying to slow down and pick
it up.
Speaker 3 (31:31):
And that seemed like that was the play.
Speaker 4 (31:33):
But it was a very Binny Hill type play and
I was laughing hysterically.
Speaker 3 (31:41):
But I don't think the Eagles.
Speaker 4 (31:43):
Fans are kind of laughing at the results of the game. No.
Speaker 1 (31:46):
I'm sure they're calling for their quarterback to be benched
and their head coach to be fired even though they're
at first place of the NFC East.
Speaker 2 (31:52):
That's just kind of how Philadelphia fans are. And just
for fun one more time, why not. The Marvin Mims
punt return is first hunt return touchdown of his.
Speaker 6 (32:02):
Career, driving Kip Mimes on a gallop from the forty eight,
Marvin in trouble, steps out.
Speaker 7 (32:07):
Of a tackle, and here we go. Marvin's rooms plays
throw a Raider down the sideline twenty fifteen, ten five touchdown.
Speaker 1 (32:16):
Marvin Mims.
Speaker 2 (32:19):
Big block by J. L. Skinner on that play. He's
going to join KOA Sports on Thursday in the three
o'clock hour, And man, what a dominant win by the
Broncos over their hated rivals.
Speaker 1 (32:31):
The Raiders.
Speaker 3 (32:32):
I see what you did there. I see you're just
going to keep going.
Speaker 4 (32:36):
Back to it.
Speaker 2 (32:37):
Any final thoughts real quick before we hit the break
before we move on to the Packers.
Speaker 4 (32:41):
No, listen, man, it was a great team win, and
for me, the team operated exactly where I thought they would.
They were, you know, really efficient, and when a team
is taking something away from you, you have to make
adjustments and you have to make plays, and you know,
Bo made the right plays.
Speaker 3 (32:59):
And even though the defense gave up that opening.
Speaker 4 (33:03):
Possession as far as a touchdown is concerned, it really
bounced back and stood firm.
Speaker 3 (33:08):
So I'm really confident in what this team can do.
Speaker 4 (33:12):
I know they are confident in themselves, but they're gonna
need every single person on Sundays against the Green Bay Packers.
Speaker 1 (33:18):
That's the truth.
Speaker 2 (33:18):
We'll preview those Packers with premsis next on Broncos Country
Tonight on KOA
