Speaker 1 (00:00):
Jam packed show tonight. Paul georgean't gonna join us. Six
thirty tug a little fantasy football, Get those questions in
right away. Viny beteddeto severnal five to talk a little
bit about the Nuggets, and Erin Nigler at seven thirty
five to talk about the Green Bay Packers that is
the Broncos opponent this weekend.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
We had a little breaking news.

Speaker 1 (00:18):
That I put out there on Twitter and on the
show right before the show opened. Pat Bryant wide receiver
Pat Bryan is expected to be sidelined this weekend with.

Speaker 3 (00:26):
A hamstring issue.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
Now that issue had bothered him last week, but he
was able to play. He's uh, it is his birthday today,
so happy birthday, Bad Bryant.

Speaker 2 (00:35):
But he is expected to be sidelined this weekend.

Speaker 4 (00:39):
That only opens the door for another one of the
Broncos wilde receivers to step up. And dare I say
number nineteen, Marvin Memes, you would.

Speaker 3 (00:50):
Think, I wonder if this means an Elijah More elevation. Oh,
come on off the practice squad. Okay, we've never like
lately can't do that. We can do that. The thing is,
we've seen Sean Payton before.

Speaker 1 (01:01):
He has never met the game in which he does
not love to just ignore his most explosive guy, Marvin Mims.
We can't for that brief stretch down down the stretch
last year when he was, you know, getting a hundred
yard games because he was actually using him.

Speaker 5 (01:13):
Marvin Mims Special Teams Player of the Week third time
most ever by a special teamer in Broncos history.

Speaker 3 (01:19):
Yes, maybe we'll.

Speaker 2 (01:20):
Get to see him used it on the offensive side.

Speaker 4 (01:22):
It is time Grant to change that narrative. Albeit is
great to be honored as the special team's you know
stand out in AFC. Well, when you want to get
via standout at the position that you were born to
play at, wide receiver, right when you want to do that, Mama,

(01:42):
I made it. I caught a touchdown at my position.
I mean doesn't that sound a lot better, does it not?

Speaker 3 (01:50):
I mean, look, I would put Marvin Mims out there.

Speaker 1 (01:53):
I'm just saying that I've seen enough of Sean Payton.
It's like, yes, this guy is obviously our most athletic
and explosive weapon.

Speaker 2 (01:59):
We should continue to not use him.

Speaker 4 (02:01):
You know what, Ben, if that were to happen and
somehow Elijah Moore is up this next game. That's going
to be very telling in my book. I told Grant
this the other night. Do you realize that le Jordan
Humphrey and one game has equal to the number of
targets that Marvin Mims have over has over two games.

Speaker 3 (02:24):
Hample side, I believe that.

Speaker 4 (02:26):
Yes, yeah, So so let's not add insult to injury.
I know Pat Brian as you said, he he's not
going to be available due to the hamstring. But this
is the perfect opportunity to give Marvin Mims involved in
the offense, is it not.

Speaker 1 (02:43):
I again, I am one behind getting Marvin Mims more involved.
I'm the president of that fan club. That's my license plate.
I'm driving this bush. We're doing skywriting. If we ever
get the plane up out of the off the ground.
We're doing banners over this. So whatever it takes at
this point, And yeah, I still expect them to go.
You know what we should do. We should target Troy
Franklin twenty times. I just I've just seen I've just

(03:07):
seen it. So we got We'll have some more information
on that as as we go. Philip Rivers officially signed
practices for the Colts. I don't know if he starts
on Sunday, I expect him to get reps on Sunday,
probably late in the game. I think you throw Ryl.
Leonard out there early as a sacrificial lamb, and then
you turn around, let Philip Rivers get some snaps late personally,
and then we got this Michigan situation. I don't know
if you've seen this or not, but Charon Moore is

(03:30):
has been fired at the University of Michigan due to
an investigation that uncovered off the field transgressions. Michigan confirmed
move this afternoon said Moore had quote engaged in an
inappropriate relationship with a staff member.

Speaker 2 (03:45):
The specifics of that are not widely known.

Speaker 1 (03:48):
According to Detroit News as Tony Paul, there was an
incident today that required police attention. It's unclear what that
incident was or if he's charges will stem from it,
but he was or at least detained by police earlier
on and so it'll be. It remains to be seen
what's going on. The other things we know about this
young ladies that she was on staff there uh with

(04:11):
Moore at at Michigan and at some point terminated a
pregnancy resulting from that so I yeah, as far as
the rest of this goes, I don't know. I don't
want to get deep into the the personal life of
of that situation, but uh, this is certainly something that
is rocking college football right now. Is another scandal, and
you know, Bobby Petrino mel Tucker another scandalous, you know,

(04:34):
thing from the head coach and doing something with subordinates
that he shouldn't be.

Speaker 6 (04:39):
I know a lot of these coaches.

Speaker 4 (04:42):
Having their bylaws and their contract that obviously you can't
do things like this. And I don't know what coach
Moore's contract is at this particular point, but I'm sure
Michigan was standing to pay him a significant amount of money.
With firing him for prevents them from having to pay

(05:03):
that money, I would like to think.

Speaker 3 (05:05):
And I don't know what to you.

Speaker 4 (05:06):
I just seem that things were coming to ahead, especially
after the scandal as far as the stealing of signs
and the fact that I think earlier this season was
a three game But once again, it just seems as
though Michigan was always hunting for a reason to remove
themselves from coach More and essentially gave it to them.

(05:29):
And I don't understand correct me from morole. Maybe maybe
you guys can help me out. Maybe the text I
don't understand. And I know, you know, being a man,
we're always accused of doing a lot of things, or
manly things or unmanly things, as it pertains.

Speaker 6 (05:45):
Who are a significant other.

Speaker 4 (05:46):
But I don't understand how gods get themselves caught up
in this situation where so much on the line. And
I'm not just talking about their careers. I'm not just
talking about money, but I'm just talking about their families.
I mean, is it worth that to sacrifice all of
that in your reputation?

Speaker 1 (06:03):
From a personal perspective, because I think everybody knows about
my past, I will say, sometimes you just get caught
up in the moment, like you you're lonely or whatever,
and you're looking for validation somewhere else, maybe not getting
it at home, and for whatever reason that you know,
the communication or whatever isn't.

Speaker 3 (06:18):
There, you start looking for it elsewhere.

Speaker 1 (06:20):
You find it somewhere else, and then you get caught
up in that, you know, in the heat of that moment,
and I you know, I don't know in this particular case,
I can't speak to that, but I can say from
my own personal experience.

Speaker 3 (06:29):
That's that's where it went with me.

Speaker 4 (06:31):
You know, look, man, I know that no one's perfect.
We have flaws as human beings. But it's just like dang, man,
I just think about and I don't know what was happening,
you know at home with his wife that there could
have been some issues as though you're describing.

Speaker 3 (06:49):
But if not keeping your your.

Speaker 4 (06:52):
Wife in the same team of your marriage at the
forefront of your mind.

Speaker 3 (06:56):
At least think about your kids.

Speaker 4 (06:57):
Yeah, right, I mean, and maybe I don't know about
By tomorrow we'll find out more information about this story.

Speaker 3 (07:04):
But man, it just blew my mind when I heard it.

Speaker 1 (07:06):
Yeah, sometimes you you know, I mean, you get into
a place and all of a sudden, you've got you know,
you're you're on the top of your world, right, You're
you know, your cut, your you're head coach at University
of Michigan.

Speaker 3 (07:16):
So I mean it never maybe thought you.

Speaker 1 (07:17):
Would be, and you know, you opportunities are there that
maybe you weren't there in certain other situations, and some
people don't have the willpower in those cases. I don't
know what the specific thing in this particular situation is,
but Michigan to me. I mean most of the good
candidates and their staffs are gone.

Speaker 4 (07:33):
You know, yeah, I mean yeah, because now they have
to go find a new coach, and you have this
jump right into the recruiting cycle to make sure that
you could retain some of the guys that have already committed.

Speaker 1 (07:44):
Yeah, and you know, now you got to wonder who
you go after, who's got connections universe?

Speaker 2 (07:49):
I mean, uh, what's his name?

Speaker 1 (07:50):
If pog he's gonna be the the interim head coach there,
but the but a long term you know that that
gets you through the what the cheese at Bowl with
Texas or whatever you're in.

Speaker 2 (07:58):
I don't I don't even know what it is.

Speaker 1 (07:59):
But you you know, once you get through that, you
go you're gonna have to figure that out. And I
don't know, I mean what jesse mentor maybe the defensive coordinator,
the charge arshers, Yeah, you know, he's got he's got
connection there. I'm just trying to think anybody that would
have connection. That would be somebody that is a big
enough name that you could you could bring them in
as the head coach of the University of Michigan.

Speaker 6 (08:22):
You know what time timing is everything.

Speaker 4 (08:24):
This would have been a perfect job for James Franklin,
had you and I taken the Virginia Tech took.

Speaker 1 (08:29):
Yeah, and I like the names that I would throw
at this are the guys you can't hire because of
why you just fire this guy. You can't hire Bobby Petrino,
who's available now, you can't hire You can't hire ruben
Meyer available.

Speaker 6 (08:43):
Such a thing, can't hire.

Speaker 1 (08:45):
Yeah, you can't hire guys that had the same scandal
the guy.

Speaker 4 (08:50):
Well, this is not saying that I'm putting my ethics
on trong hill, But once again, yes, did these men
do things that maybe I wouldn't do or anyone else
would do.

Speaker 6 (09:02):
But if you're saying you need a.

Speaker 4 (09:05):
Good coach, and I'm not saying that these guys didn't
kill anyone, So how how is.

Speaker 3 (09:10):
It that they're unhirable?

Speaker 1 (09:12):
You can't hire the You can't hire guys who did
the same thing you're firing a guy for.

Speaker 3 (09:19):
Well, he didn't do it here.

Speaker 2 (09:20):
Yeah, Well you can't do it here, Yeah you can't.

Speaker 3 (09:23):
Well what what not? Okay, wait a minute, Wait a minute.

Speaker 4 (09:26):
I thought we lived in the world of somewhat second chances,
do we not?

Speaker 2 (09:31):
Or third chances or fourth chances.

Speaker 3 (09:34):
I will tell you that.

Speaker 1 (09:35):
Uh, people say that, but then when it comes to
actually giving those chances, I can tell you from personal experience,
a lot of times we'll.

Speaker 2 (09:43):
Start there, you've had quite a few.

Speaker 1 (09:45):
Yeah, I'm like lives right, Tan, If you can't this sweek, no,
I mean you can't hire you can't. You literally can't
hire those kind of guys like you just can't.

Speaker 3 (09:57):
That's it.

Speaker 2 (09:58):
I mean, that's a public relations nightmare.

Speaker 5 (10:01):
What do you guys think if if the Ravens missed
the playoffs and they mutually agree to part ways.

Speaker 1 (10:07):
With John Harball, Mintor was gonna be the guy. Know
what about John Harball at Michigan. I mean maybe he's
got connected.

Speaker 6 (10:14):
I don't think the Ravens would go that far.

Speaker 4 (10:16):
We've been talking to people, been talking about Mike Tomlin
being fired for the past five years.

Speaker 2 (10:21):
Well, Toma's not getting fired, I'll tell you that.

Speaker 1 (10:23):
But but the Ravens like Jesse Mentor was the guy
that they were kind of looking at if they let
go Harball after this year.

Speaker 2 (10:28):
I mean, Harball's been there for under twenty years, since
two thousand and eight. Yeah, hmmm.

Speaker 4 (10:34):
The coaching carousel continues isn't it just like sports.

Speaker 6 (10:39):
That's the one thing about it. There's no such thing
as a slow sports cycle.

Speaker 4 (10:43):
Maybe you know, at the beginning of January, once baseball starts.
But still, even with that, I mean, there's always a
chance for some news to break that he leaves you
scratching your head like, I can't believe this and why
is it happening now?

Speaker 1 (10:59):
The timing is just is insane, you know, it's it's
as far as that goes. You leave your guys, you
leave your team, you leave your your players in the lurch.
You know, it's it's I I I don't know. I
don't know what Michigan does from here. I'm trying to
think of people with the State of Michigan connections, and

(11:20):
the only name that's jumping out at me is somebody
who was once an assistant at Michigan State, which would
be the funniest thing in the world. And there's no
way they'll do that.

Speaker 4 (11:28):
No, not a not a rival in that way, No, no.

Speaker 2 (11:37):
Fan base would lose their Yeah, there's there's no way
you could do that.

Speaker 6 (11:41):
Bring the pitch sports.

Speaker 3 (11:42):
Yeah, and there's no way.

Speaker 6 (11:44):
You know.

Speaker 1 (11:44):
I'm just trying to see right now, wank Martin though
right he.

Speaker 2 (11:50):
Could he could be a real possibility.

Speaker 1 (11:53):
They put Biff Poggy is the is the interim head
coach for now, so that's that is what it is.

Speaker 3 (11:58):
But beyond that, you know, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (12:00):
What they do.

Speaker 1 (12:01):
Do you bring do you like Stanford with Andrew Luck
and bring Tom Brady in as a general manager and
have him try to lobby somebody.

Speaker 4 (12:07):
Well, I'm sure you're going to lean on a lot
of your prominent alumni to try to figure out what's
the best direction, because this goes This is like bigger
than where the Michigan Wolverines find themselves right now. Because
you need someone that you can sell to the boosters,
to kids, the nils that kind of restores that balance

(12:28):
because right now.

Speaker 6 (12:30):
Ryan Day and Ohio State they're running things.

Speaker 4 (12:33):
So you need someone to come in that can really
command that room and really prop the organization up after
something like something like this. And that's why I thought
about James Franklin because remember what happened with Penn State,
that that whole scandal, Right, they needed someone to come in, right.
Maybe James Franklin didn't have a big name at that time,

(12:54):
but he was able to kind of make people forget
very not very quickly, but I forget.

Speaker 2 (13:01):
Winning makes you forget, of course.

Speaker 4 (13:03):
Right so Michigan needs someone like that, and I don't
know who right now would be able to do that.
Do you go look to find an alumni, a former player.

Speaker 1 (13:15):
I mean, somebody, you gotta have some You can't take
the Michigan job with no experience. Don might be the
only opportunity to ever get to take a Michigan job
with no What I'm saying is the Michigan do not
handle the job out to somebody with no experience.

Speaker 2 (13:27):
Come on, like alumni who I.

Speaker 4 (13:31):
Don't know, I don't know of notable alumni like.

Speaker 3 (13:38):
It was, you know, I mean it's just, yeah, I
don't know.

Speaker 4 (13:42):
That's gonna be a tough job to feel that job
right there, very tough because Michigan has always been competitive.
Then you think about the scandal with the with the
stilling of the size, and then you.

Speaker 6 (13:54):
Have this scandal.

Speaker 4 (13:56):
Who's big enough to come in and just kind of
make people forget about these two scandals that are back
to back.

Speaker 6 (14:04):
I don't know, I.

Speaker 1 (14:05):
Don't I don't know. And you know, as far as
John Harball does, John Harball doesn't have any ties the
University of Michigan. I think he was raised in Michigan maybe.
I mean he went to Miami, Ohio for college though
he was raised in ann Arbor. But other than that,
he didn't have any ties to you know, production other
than his brother, you know. I mean he was at
Western Michigan, Western Michigan coaching for a couple of years.

Speaker 3 (14:28):
The come of the MAC. I hate that sense of
your voice.

Speaker 1 (14:34):
I'm just trying to think, like, who else is out
there that you could I mean, is Brian Dabole a
guy you would consider?

Speaker 3 (14:39):
I would, Oh, that's that's the name available right now.

Speaker 1 (14:43):
He's got NFL experience, He's got head coaching experience.

Speaker 6 (14:47):
I mean Kelly is available.

Speaker 3 (14:49):
Yeah, there you go.

Speaker 2 (14:50):
I don't think that would be interesting.

Speaker 5 (14:54):
Stories I've heard from Ben Maybe not, but I mean
that's a big name in college football.

Speaker 6 (14:59):
See.

Speaker 4 (14:59):
I don't know if if Kelly passed the Tom Brady
sniff tests, because remember trip Kelly was the office of coordinator.

Speaker 3 (15:06):
Chip was the guy that brought Chip in.

Speaker 6 (15:08):
Okay, well then that could change things?

Speaker 2 (15:12):
Could could Tom move Pete Carroll over? What about someone?

Speaker 5 (15:18):
I mean, you still think just you seem to think
that Mike McDaniel is safe in Miami.

Speaker 1 (15:23):
I think he's coached his way back into being safe.
I think he was gonna be gone and he's found
a way to coach that team back to being safe.

Speaker 5 (15:29):
But I think that would be an interesting enough name
for a job like Michigan, if he would be willing
to step down from the pros and now someone who
I think will connect with that.

Speaker 4 (15:39):
That would I would have to I have to tell you,
I know your days. That would be hilarious. It would
be funny. Yes, that would be hilarious. Putting him in
that collegiate.

Speaker 2 (15:49):
Atmosphere, dropping the six sevens.

Speaker 3 (15:52):
Where everything is up for grabs.

Speaker 4 (15:55):
Yeah, sign up for that one.

Speaker 3 (15:59):
Yeah, that's yeah.

Speaker 1 (16:00):
I don't know anyway, there's there's that's gonna be one
of those things that you gotta. I mean, I don't
know where you go. I don't know where you go
with this one. This one just feels I'm telling you
my dark horse is Harball.

Speaker 5 (16:13):
John Harball, John Harball? Is that also Rick Lewis just
text me, is that was a coach at Michigan?

Speaker 2 (16:18):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (16:18):
Jack Jack was there, but John John has no affiliation
with university other than call that right, that's an affiliation.

Speaker 5 (16:25):
You grow up rooting for Michigan your entire life, that's
a pretty big affiliation.

Speaker 3 (16:30):
Maybe I don't know.

Speaker 6 (16:31):
Ben is being a snob right now.

Speaker 1 (16:32):
No, No, I mean, I'm just saying like, it's not
you know, you didn't go to Michigan.

Speaker 5 (16:37):
I mean, I honestly don't think. I don't think the
Ravens will part ways with him, but I do. I
think they used to playoffs. I think they will are
Are they crazy? I'm not the one making the decision.
I'm just saying that.

Speaker 4 (16:49):
Once again, it baffles me to listen to some people,
and I mean media members or even fans. Well, you
think about Baltimore and you think about Pittsburgh. They've been
staples in the playoffs for years and basically they're being
victimized by their success. Right, Oh, we don't want playoffs anymore.

(17:14):
We're so used to to super Bowls. Keep them damn
Ramen noodles. Right, And it's just like, do you do
you realize if you let this guy go or you
bringing in, that's going to keep that tradition. And I
get it sometimes fans like we're tired and we're sinking,
tired of this, we want something else. Be careful what
you wish for, because you just might get it.

Speaker 1 (17:35):
He doesn't have any the dark horse here. I think
he doesn't have any experience as a head coach. But
Anthony Capanelli, who's a defensive coordinator of the Jags, was
a linebackers coach in Michigan a few years ago.

Speaker 3 (17:45):
That might be somebody to look at.

Speaker 1 (17:47):
He's a guy who's getting some head coaching run in
the NFL, you know, potentially for interviews this year.

Speaker 4 (17:52):
I would love to see our guy coach Bugano get
a chance.

Speaker 3 (17:55):
Hey, I'd love to see that.

Speaker 1 (17:57):
I was like, if Dan doesn't name him DC over
there in Washington after you know, why not Mara here
at CSU bring him home to color Hold in Colorado.
I'm just saying, I don't know. We got it a break,
We'll be back. All are you doing this?

Speaker 6 (18:13):
Evening?

Speaker 2 (18:15):
Great to talk to you. I just submitted my Fantasy
Music League entry. Oh okay, Elton John the first rounder
in nineteen seventy six, Yeah, he probably would have been
Yeah upper mobility saying he's a real rocket man. Yeah,

(18:36):
I like I like his long term prospects. I think
he might.

Speaker 1 (18:38):
He might be here to stay. You know, we'll see
it might have been. It might be a one hit wonder.
I don't know what is. The room is split as
it were right now, you know, speaking of longevity, Phil
Rivers is there?

Speaker 6 (18:51):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (18:51):
Is there going to be any fantasy viability from the
second coming of Steve de Burgh?

Speaker 2 (18:57):
That was a really good segue. Nicely done, my man.
You know, I I so, I think we all hope
he gets on the field. You know, Riley Leonard is
the expected starter. It looks like his knee injury is
going to be okay. He practiced today, so I think
he's going to be back under center. And I went
back and watched his passing. It was non awful. He's

(19:17):
I mean, it's quasi backup functional levels for the Colts
and Riley Leonard. But man, how much fun would it
be to see Philip Rivers get back on the field.

Speaker 3 (19:29):
So let me ask you this.

Speaker 2 (19:30):
You guys, and obviously your team very familiar with Philip
Philip Rivers in his career.

Speaker 3 (19:34):
Is he a Hall of Famer?

Speaker 1 (19:36):
I believe so, Nikki, you played against Phil Rivers, didn't you.

Speaker 3 (19:39):
Yes, baby? Against Is he a Hall of Famer.

Speaker 4 (19:44):
Yeah, I feel as though he is the same way
that Dan Fouts was a Hall of Famer. Yeah, because
you look at the longevity of his career and you
just look at some of the key games he's played in,
and then how can you say Rivers is not a
Hall of Famer And then you have Antonio Gates who
is nominated for the Hall of Fame. You can't have

(20:06):
both of those things, you know, not take place. So
in in my estimation, yes, he is.

Speaker 6 (20:12):
A Hall of Fame. Then may feel a little different.

Speaker 1 (20:15):
No, I'm on the first ballot. Well, I was on
the first ballot train with him. I mean, he's a
guy who's compiled a ton of statistics. They think the
only and most people would say that Rosthlisberger and Manning
deserve the Hall. And if they get in, how can
you not do Philip Rivers who bests them in both categories.

Speaker 2 (20:31):
Yeah, seventh all time in passing yards for Philip Rivers.

Speaker 3 (20:34):
And all the people who.

Speaker 2 (20:35):
Want to point at the playoff the playoff failures of
Philip Rivers. It's a team game here.

Speaker 3 (20:42):
You got eleven.

Speaker 2 (20:43):
Guys on offense, eleven on defense, special teams. I mean,
you know he can't just do all that himself. I
feel like, you know, if you put him on better teams,
he probably would have gotten gotten to the SUPERO, might
have won won.

Speaker 3 (20:55):
And I don't know, I guess you know.

Speaker 2 (20:57):
My assumption is Philip Rivers is going to play at
some point and hard because he's gonna he had to
reset the Hall of Fame clock.

Speaker 3 (21:03):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (21:03):
I mean, Nick, if you're eligible foot, well, you are
eligible for the Hall of Fame. If you were if
you were going to go to the Hall of Fame,
if you don't want to reset your clock on the
prospect of being on the field, I mean, wouldn't you
want some certainty that you were gonna be on the
field if you're gonna put put your Hall of Fame
candidacy five years in the future.

Speaker 4 (21:21):
Well as I understand it, I mean, if he's on
the practice squad, it doesn't impact him. The moment he
goes into an active game, then it pushes it back
to I don't know if it was at twenty thirty
or something like that years or whatever. Yeah, but I
think for him, he's gonna look at it like this.
I'm forty four years old. I was sitting on the couch.

(21:41):
I was coaching high school football. I was summoned back
to a team I got a chance to play with
it into my career with just to go back out
there and give it one more shot. Let me tell
you there's several players I talked to former players on.

Speaker 6 (21:54):
An everyday basis.

Speaker 4 (21:57):
They would give my right fing your hand and maybe
Ben's right.

Speaker 2 (22:03):
Arm for arm is not adding anything to that question here.

Speaker 4 (22:08):
They're willing to sacrifice certain things to get back out
on the grid. Iroon because once it's over, man, it's over.
He gets somewhat of a small redo. Just think about
if you add in life, you got a chance to
have a small redo.

Speaker 2 (22:22):
I think I would have been busy at six thirty
if I could have a small redo. This probably the
end of starting Tyler Warren, Michael Pittman.

Speaker 3 (22:29):
Alec Pierce.

Speaker 2 (22:30):
As long as Riley Leonard is the quarterback, I think
all those guys his greatest Tyler Warren has been Alex Pierce.
We just talked about last week. It's Seattle this week
that we couldn't have. You couldn't have a worse opponent
pretty much other than maybe Denver to have to face
your as a first, start Riley Leonard and even Jonathan Taylor.
You got to figure CL's game plan is going to

(22:52):
be We'll just stop Jonathan Taylor at all costs and
make Riley Leonard beat us. And I don't think that's
going to happen. So yeah, start Jonathan Taylor. But the
rest of the team. I don't think you can start
in my fantasy playoffs this week.

Speaker 1 (23:03):
Yeah, it looks that way some of the guys out there.
You know, we talked previously. You said Justin Jefferson was
a sick candidate. He certainly has been. But what about
Mike Evans expected to return startable?

Speaker 2 (23:15):
Yeah, tomorrow night, he's It's this always amazes me. You know,
maybe I've just learned not to be surprised by this.
But guys who could not play at all on Sunday,
four days later, they hit the field and they look great,
and they look like they you know, I'm like, couldn't
you have played last Sunday? But that's gonna be the
case here, Evans, It's gonna come back. Bucks might not

(23:36):
have the luxury of slowly working Mike Evans back in
in mid December, the Bucks are one game over five
hundred almost no chance of a wildcard spot. They have
to put on the division that offense desperately needs a
Joel Tampa. Baker Mayfield just haven't looked right since Evans
went down. He went down seven games, so Baker Mayfield

(23:57):
has thrown zero or one touchdown in six of those
seven games. They've got to get Evans upright and going
as soon as this game twenty eight. So normally he's like,
you know, wide receiver, healthfully healthy wide receiver, usually like
twelve fourteen. So I still think he's startled here, showing
a little bit of caution because it's his first game

(24:18):
back on a short week. But still I think it
started Mike Evans and Rolltic becsuse they need it man.

Speaker 4 (24:24):
Okay, So the fast time that Drake May faced the
Buffalo Bills, obviously they won the game, but he had
no touchdowns.

Speaker 6 (24:33):
So is it safe to say that if you.

Speaker 4 (24:36):
Want to and you're trying to survive your fantasy lead
and get it to the championship, this is the game
that you want to start Drake May against the Buffalo Bills.

Speaker 2 (24:44):
I'm starting Drake may every week now. The Bills are
The way you beat the Bills is on the Brown.
This is they've turned into a terrible run defense, and
that is Nick. I think the most underreported story of
this disappointing Bill season has been their run defenses is
one of the five worst in the leagues. They're pretty
good against the past, but it's Drake May. He's basically

(25:05):
been great against everybody. And in that game, that was
one of those games when they when they went to
Buffalo and they beat Buffalo, where Drake May was very good.
It just didn't turn up in the box. So one
of those times where fantasy players didn't get paid but
the team did. I think there's still a great chance
for me May to be very good here. It's a
great question. I've got him as quarterback five because basically

(25:25):
May has been He's had one really bad fantasy game
all year, and the rest are all good. We love
Drake May and I'm starting him here.

Speaker 1 (25:32):
Last one from me here Paul Chargian, Greater the Guillotine
k Fanny.

Speaker 2 (25:36):
You can find him everywhere at Paul Chargian on Twitter.
I need I need some tight end help this week.

Speaker 1 (25:42):
Is there anything out there I should be I should
be looking for.

Speaker 3 (25:45):
You know, we touched on this.

Speaker 2 (25:47):
I don't know maybe a month ago, the Cincinnati Bengals
are on pace to be the worst tight end defense
ever history of the league. You've got the opportunity to
go get Mark and Andrew this is available in about
twenty percent of leagues, or even backup Isaiah Likely against
the Bengals. That's the move that you want to make

(26:08):
against Cincinnati. And we keep thinking maybe it'll start to
get better.

Speaker 3 (26:12):
It hasn't gotten better. It's been this way all year.

Speaker 2 (26:15):
This is just the scheme they're using. They're apparently willing
to give up big games to opposing tight ends. Last week,
daltonkin Kaid touchdown Austin Knox ninety three yards. Jackson Hawes
touchdown three different tight ends with fantasy relevant games against Cincinnati.

Speaker 3 (26:30):
It's been this way all year.

Speaker 2 (26:32):
You can pick up Isaiah Likely available in ninety two
percent of leagues and give him a start next week.

Speaker 1 (26:39):
Paul, We appreciate it as always and look forward to
talking to you next week. Tons of fun, Bye bye, Guess,
absolutely take care. Paul Chargian at Paul Charcian on Twitter.
He's over there on k Fan and brings us the
fantasy football analysis that we have.

Speaker 4 (26:55):
These two surgeons plastic surgeons. Oh, I shall I think
they lived in my amm. Yes, it's like that, I remember.

Speaker 1 (27:03):
No, that's really not I don't think medical drumas I
didn't didn't watch.

Speaker 4 (27:06):
Much of House so well, I don't think it was.
I mean, that's not why I say it would be
up your The only one I liked. The only one
I liked was The Pit. That's the only medical drama
I cared for.

Speaker 2 (27:14):
What about that show you're obsessed with?

Speaker 6 (27:17):
Which one is that?

Speaker 3 (27:19):
The Pit? No?

Speaker 5 (27:22):
I guess it's not technically medical. Well, it is kind
of medical. The one about the shrink Shrinking?

Speaker 3 (27:29):
No, which what is that?

Speaker 2 (27:33):
You talk about it all the time.

Speaker 5 (27:34):
It's like they made a musical out of it and
they did, like, Yeah, nobody's a therapist in psych Oh
I wouldn't know.

Speaker 2 (27:40):
I don't.

Speaker 1 (27:41):
He's an undepoint slacker pretending to be a psychic detective.

Speaker 5 (27:45):
Oh, I thought he was like a psychiatrist. Tell you
how much I've seen.

Speaker 3 (27:50):
That's what I like to show. He's basically me a
slacker that's out.

Speaker 5 (27:53):
A jobling drinking, great show.

Speaker 1 (27:58):
Yeah, shrinking, that's a that's a that's a great Show's
there's somebody that's a therapist.

Speaker 7 (28:01):
That's a I love that one most of the time,
though I don't like, you know, like those guys like
they because and I'll tell you at the time, because
the show was on FX, right, I think The Shields
was the show I was kind I was watching.

Speaker 3 (28:11):
At that point in time.

Speaker 2 (28:12):
It was on EFFS.

Speaker 3 (28:13):
Remember that one.

Speaker 1 (28:14):
Yes, this show The shield and the movie Training Day
are based on the same thing, a dirty cop. Well
I mean but specific dirty cops. Both based on if
you were a google of the Rampart like. In fact,
Training Day was originally going to be called Rampart and
the Rampart the Least Department threatened to sue and they
changed the name of Training Day.

Speaker 2 (28:35):
This is the kind of stuff I bring to Broncos Country.

Speaker 1 (28:36):
Then that's what I'm here for. Give me the give
me the pop culture knowledge I need. This is this
is what I this is what I'm here for. It's
the library of pop culture knowledge, just for you, Grant.
But yeah, both of them are based on the same uh,
the same incidents, same you know, all that kind of stuff.

Speaker 6 (28:52):
So I love Training Day.

Speaker 2 (28:55):
It's a day one.

Speaker 3 (28:58):
The guy who.

Speaker 1 (29:01):
When he goes to the I don't want to spoiler
alert for people haven't seen it. But when he goes
to that, we drops him off at the house with
this thirty years ago.

Speaker 3 (29:08):
You never rocket.

Speaker 1 (29:11):
But the guy, the guy who did you know, he
didn't know what movie he was reading for when he
went in to do the lines, Like they didn't tell
him like anything about it because they wanted to keep
it all like compartmentalized on what they were doing.

Speaker 3 (29:20):
So he just was like reading a lot of.

Speaker 1 (29:21):
It without knowing what he was really what he was
earlier reading in that scene.

Speaker 3 (29:26):
So I just always thought that was funny.

Speaker 2 (29:29):
Five six, six, nine zeros of text signe.

Speaker 1 (29:30):
Thanks to Paul Charchion joining US seven to us has
let that Elton John breathe just saying we did.

Speaker 2 (29:37):
Yeah, we very much. Da have a solid minute of
air time. Maybe bend'al going to joy his top.

Speaker 1 (29:43):
Of the hour tuk a little bit about nugets, a
chance to really deep dive on them.

Speaker 2 (29:46):
But they're having a heck of a start to the season.

Speaker 1 (29:49):
Uh, we've got Aaron Nagler Gona joined AU seven thirty
to talk about the Green Bay Packers Grese he's the
resident packers expert up there in Green Bay, known him
for a long time. He'll he'll help us break down
what the Packers are bringing to town. To the Broncos,
I mean, Pat Bryan has been a fixture in this
offense the last two weeks.

Speaker 2 (30:05):
Missing him is gonna be gonna be an issue this weekend.

Speaker 4 (30:08):
I wouldn't say an issue, Ben, They've used hims in
spurts getting him the ball. But no, I'm not gonna
say the Broncos are gonna miss him, because that was
one of the reasons they brought back Lejoe and Humphrey.
And then more importantly, you look at Troy Franklin, who,
I mean, for a couple of weeks was kind of

(30:29):
the go to guy, especially inside the red zone fifteen
red zone targets by calling by Troy Franklin calling sudden
only nine.

Speaker 6 (30:43):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (30:43):
So I mean in fact, that Troy Franklin has any
amount of targets that he that he does, which is
ridiculous to me.

Speaker 4 (30:49):
But yes, I mean no, no, I wouldn't say, Ben,
it's ridiculous. What it establishes is that, well, there is
a continuity between both Nicks and Troy Franklin that we
were not.

Speaker 3 (30:59):
Seeing last year.

Speaker 4 (31:01):
When everyone wants wanted to cast him off to Gilligan's Islands.
But I mean there's been someone of a slight researchers.

Speaker 6 (31:07):
Fortroit, Franklin.

Speaker 1 (31:08):
Here's ninety targets that has only caught fifty six of
those balls.

Speaker 4 (31:11):
Hey, listen the idea. Hey, you gotta keep feeding them. Right,
at some point, you can't just turn it all.

Speaker 1 (31:18):
No, at that point, at that point you say this
is not efficient use of our time.

Speaker 3 (31:22):
We'll find someone who catches the ball better.

Speaker 6 (31:24):
No, you can't.

Speaker 4 (31:25):
You can't do that because now you're only playing on
half of the field, and with Pat Brian being down
and Marvin Maham's not being involved, you have to go
somewhere with the ball.

Speaker 3 (31:34):
Good.

Speaker 1 (31:35):
You put Marvin Madam's out there and be done with it.
I'm just saying, we gotta catch a break.

Speaker 3 (31:38):
We come back. Vida Betterdental
