Speaker 1 (00:00):
Text lines taking you guys's questions.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
Brian wants to know if we can use no doubt
Spider Webs has bumped back music.

Speaker 1 (00:07):
I'm not in charge of that. I have no idea.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
I don't know if that's even possible. Somebody else, but
Mark Johnson calling buffs basketball. To my knowledge, he still
calls bus basketball.

Speaker 1 (00:18):
He's got a great voice, is there.

Speaker 3 (00:21):
He mostly calls bus basketball, but then sometimes he will be.

Speaker 1 (00:25):
On like the ESPN game broadcast.

Speaker 2 (00:27):
Oh yeah, when he does TV broadcasts or whatever. Then
we have with Jerry Schimmelfill.

Speaker 1 (00:32):
Okay, So to.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
Answer that question from uh the seven to twelve, that's yeah.

Speaker 1 (00:37):
Mark's got a very deep.

Speaker 2 (00:38):
Enough Oh yeah, it's it's it's funny because I bring
this up for once in a while. In the CBS,
uh and uh Amy and Amadalara did an article a
few years ago, three or four years ago, and they.

Speaker 1 (00:51):
Ranked like every.

Speaker 2 (00:54):
Play by play voice for every sport, and not buy
who's the best or who's the worst, more about who's
the most aggressive and who's the least aggressive. And so
they had like the Sacramento Kings basketball guys like the
least aggressive one because and then they played an audio
clip rint it's like, uh and he dipsy doodle drills
down lean and then at least went in that was
that was what he sounded like. That's kind of what

(01:15):
the guy sounded like. And then they juxtaposed that with
Mark Johnson, uh being the most aggressive the voice of sports,
you know, calling, and then they played the clip and
he's like, uh, you know it's Mark his voice.

Speaker 1 (01:32):
It's great. It makes basketball enjoyable. Like you you know,
you know, like basketball in the.

Speaker 2 (01:36):
Radio is tough, right, It's tough because there's a lot
you have to process and do quickly in your mind
and all that kind of stuff. And Mark Johnson just
just makes it so fun with the in the way
that he does things. And uh, you know, I was like, yeah,
it's it's you know, we had Mark on to talk
about that auspicious occasion. He you know, was geting natured
about it and everything, and but I do, I mean,
you've gotta gotta have something to make basketball on the

(02:00):
radio because it's so it's fast paced and it's just
tough to paint that picture very quickly while you're doing that.

Speaker 4 (02:08):
Extraordinary guy, I mean obviously he can call anything. Yeah,
I mean so so football too, always so talented that
he could even make paint dry sound amazing.

Speaker 1 (02:21):
I like I always thought his voice always you think.

Speaker 2 (02:24):
Of like mother Monster truck rally commercial here Monday, and
I can't do it, but you know Mark Johnson can,
and so like.

Speaker 1 (02:31):
That's like he's got the voice to be able to
do that.

Speaker 2 (02:33):
But he but he also like he calls games well,
but he's also got like that voice on top of it.

Speaker 1 (02:38):
It's just the he's got the golden sud.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
He hit the Loto with that one. So, uh, we
love you, Mark, if you're out there, if you're out
there listening right now, Uh, is this championship or bust
for these Denver teams? Has the bar been raised for
the Denver Broncos? And then you look, of course at
the Nuggets and the Abs, and it sort of feels
like that this is a championship or bust window for
a lot of Denver sports teams right now. The Abs

(03:02):
are out there, okay seeing everybody in hockey right now.
The Nuggets, if it wasn't for OKAC, would probably be
the favorite out of the West.

Speaker 3 (03:11):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (03:12):
And then you've got to Denver Broncos and the bar
has been raised here is you have a total of
two games you've lost this season, both of which you
lost in the last second in those games against the
Coltson Chargers.

Speaker 4 (03:24):
Well yeah, I mean that that's a great part of
living in here in Denver and what would be considered
to be like a real sports town.

Speaker 1 (03:33):
And I know there's other you.

Speaker 4 (03:35):
Know, states and cities that have like baseball, hockey, and football,
but this is something very unique about this town and
that's where the championship expectations continue to soar.

Speaker 5 (03:51):
And if I if I if I made then.

Speaker 4 (03:56):
I would say that a let's and was started by
the Denver Broncos themselves, because it's hard for any other
sports team to be in this Denver market looking at
the Denver Broncos, looking at what they were able to
accomplish fromn organization's standpoint, from top to bottom without saying,
you know what, we want to emulate that because think

(04:18):
about how long the Nuggets have been avoid of a championship.
It was forty seven years to be exact, if I'm correct,
and then once they got that championship, now was like
you can talk about them in the same breath you
can talk about the Broncos. You can talk about the
ass and being the fact that they're both playing in

(04:39):
ball arena. You walk by and you see all the
accolades for the Avalanche. You want to be a part
of that. You want to make sure that people are
mentioning you in that regard. But it is Championship of Bus.
That's the culture that you want to establish. More portly,
for me, that was the culture that mister b and
Mike Shanahan establish. It is the Championship or Bus. Most

(05:02):
teams have this whole idea of we got to get
to nine wins, we got to get to ten wins, right,
that's a great season for us. It was like, no,
our goal is that's where the foundation. Yes, So to
see this team on this magnificent run that they're on,
being eleven and two, I mean, it's it's extraordinary and

(05:25):
as a former player, I love I'm loving every.

Speaker 1 (05:27):
Moment of it. Yeah, I love the success.

Speaker 2 (05:29):
I guess the question though, becomes like, is it the
championship meantat if you fall short of the championship, is
that a disappointment?

Speaker 4 (05:35):
Now?

Speaker 1 (05:35):
Where for the Broncos.

Speaker 2 (05:36):
I think if you'd asked at the beginning of the season,
you know, playoffs, win a playoff game. That was kind
of the standard. And now that we've gone through this season,
the bar has been raised. You look over at the
Nuggets in the ass if they don't make the championship game.
Is that is this season suddenly considered a disappointment? It
doesn't that same more now about where the standard is
on these teams?

Speaker 1 (05:55):
Yeah, it does.

Speaker 4 (05:56):
And I know most people say, well, no, there's still
a way to find success and the losing season, but
I would say, based on the people that I've been around,
that's kind of a loser mentality. I mean, now we
know that every game you're not going to win, it's.

Speaker 1 (06:13):
Going to be challenging.

Speaker 4 (06:14):
But if you have that winning pedigree and that attitude like, no,
we expect to win. Other people and other teams they hope,
you have to expect it and it has to be
in your DNA. And if you don't win that Lombardi
Trophy or the Larry O'Brian Trophy, that is a disappointing season.

Speaker 2 (06:34):
Yeah, I mean, I think that says something about the
state of your franchise or program. If you're a college
football in terms of where you are, if you expect
to make and or win championships and you don't, and
there is a disappointment level that says something to me
about the state of where you're at. That you've reached them.
You are at the pinnacle of where you're at. You

(06:57):
are in the win big phase of you know, big louse, small,
win small, Olympic.

Speaker 1 (07:01):
You have reached that.

Speaker 2 (07:03):
You've reached that, and now it's about maintaining that culture
instead of and winning championships, instead of building anything.

Speaker 4 (07:09):
You know. It starts off like this and it's like, oh,
possibly maybe, and then you graduate to hope and then
you get to a point where hell yeah, we expect
us to be there. That has to be the mentality.
If not, it's like, well, what are you doing all
of that for? I mean, what are you sacrificing your

(07:29):
body for? If you are a player, and if you're
a coach, you're sacrificing time away from your family. So
it has to be a championship or bus because if not,
I mean, what are we doing now? I'll say this
is that other teams may feel as though that's good enough.
Getting to the Hope aspect is good enough, Ben, but

(07:52):
here with so many teams playing in minimul games deep
into their seasons. There's a certain level of expectations and
that's where you need to be.

Speaker 1 (08:01):
Yeah, I think expectation adjusts. You know, it's fluid.

Speaker 2 (08:04):
I think because like I said at the beginning of
the season, if you'd asked that, you know, if you'd
ask and you said the Denver Broncos go to the
playoffs and win a playoff game, they would have called
that a successful season. Now I think if you say
the Denver Broncos go to the playoffs, I don't know
that people considered as a successful season anymore. Given the
fact that we're out to eleven to two.

Speaker 4 (08:21):
Well, consider in fact that what happened last year there
was a nine year layoff. You got to the playoffs,
so so you already buried that hatchet. So now it's like, okay,
well it's getting to the playoffs.

Speaker 1 (08:34):
And right it's winning the playoff game.

Speaker 5 (08:37):
That's the conversation.

Speaker 4 (08:38):
It's well, we got to the playoff, but no, no, no,
we got to the playoffs, and that has to be
the mentality, even though there's no guarantee that that would
be the end results.

Speaker 1 (08:49):
You have to think that way.

Speaker 2 (08:50):
For the Nuggets, and the Aves two people or two
teams who have been to the playoffs, who have been
to the top fairly recently. And as you look at
especially the Aves, is not making the championship or not
winning a championship a letdown?

Speaker 1 (09:06):
Yes, it is. It's just okay.

Speaker 4 (09:08):
Think about all the players that are on both of
the team teams and how talented they are, especially the Aves.
I mean, they have so many talented players. It would
be a letdown if you don't get there. Like last year,
the Florida Panthers got there and those dudes skated their

(09:29):
backsides off, they played great defense, and they were able
to share the puck. So they were one of those
teams that people expected for them to be there and
they I believe they were probably the odds on favorite
over the Edmonton Oilers to do it, and they completed
the job. So the ABS feltas like, we're just as

(09:50):
good as Florida, right, we can play hockey just as
well as they did.

Speaker 5 (09:55):
But when it came down to it, the ABS didn't
do what was necessary.

Speaker 4 (10:00):
So that season was a disappointment because I'm sure Jared
ben On every single play on that AB scenes felt
as though they was just as capable as the Florida Panthers.

Speaker 2 (10:08):
As playing the Florida Panthers to night, by the way,
just as they say, coincidence abs out there, you know,
leading the West and leading hockey as it were, the
East is weaker this year and has specifically favored. They
are the betting favorite to win the championship by and
nobody's close. Like they're plus three ten. The next closest
is plus eight twenty five, which would suggest, you know,
for everye hundred dollars you bet you'd win a one

(10:29):
hundred twenty five dollars, they are the only win three
ten if you If that's how far out in front
the Nuggets are considered in the in the hockey race.
On the the NBA side of things, the Nuggets are
not the prohibited favorite. In fact, they're not even the
favorite in the West. They're at plus seven hundred, where
the okase he's plus one twenty five, almost.

Speaker 1 (10:51):
Even money for the OKC thunder.

Speaker 2 (10:54):
But I will say they are the only two teams
that are under a thousand in all of basketball.

Speaker 4 (10:59):
And I was, hey, man, you know, the Broncos feel
that tension, they feel that pressure, right, and that's what
you want.

Speaker 5 (11:09):
You want to be in the pressure cooker where you
have to.

Speaker 1 (11:11):
Come up big.

Speaker 4 (11:13):
And now the Broncos were doing what they're doing now,
now they're being compared to several other teams in the
past that we're able to not only win games in
the playoffs, get the number one seed, and then find
themselves in the Super Bowl.

Speaker 5 (11:28):
So even though you're not going to hear that many people.

Speaker 4 (11:32):
Over at the Broncos facility talk about that level of
pressure because it feels as though.

Speaker 5 (11:38):
We don't need to talk about it.

Speaker 4 (11:39):
We know what we need to do and we know
what that pressure cooker because with every single game things
get toughing like the Broncos win on Sunday against the
Green Bay Packers.

Speaker 5 (11:49):
That pressure isn't minimized.

Speaker 1 (11:52):
It only goes out. Yeah, it continues. The expectations goes up, and.

Speaker 2 (11:57):
This is what you signed up for. Which of these
three teams? Wich are the three teams do you think
wins the championship? First between the Nuggets, Aves, and the Broncos.
The betting favorite of those threes, the Avs, Then the
Nuggets and the Broncos.

Speaker 4 (12:07):
Well, considering the fact that the Avs they're out to
one hell of a start, and they are just so stacked.
As far as top the bottom, I would have to
say the as Yeah, I would have to say I
would have to go with them because you look at
the nuggets that the Nuggets have, OKC. And unless you
tell me something is drastically gonna happen like a whole

(12:29):
bunch of injuries towards in the season, I think, Okay,
they're the odds on favorite. Now as far as the
Broncos are concerned that they're right up there, they're right
up there, but there are a couple of things that
have to till in their direction for them to kind
of get to Santa Clara and come home.

Speaker 1 (12:49):
With the Super Bowl. Do you think we could have
multiple parades in the next calendar year, Yes, possible.

Speaker 4 (12:57):
It's possible based on how each team is playing at
this particular moment. Right Obviously, the hockey season is just
kind of you know, it's not like in full swing, but.

Speaker 1 (13:10):
They've just kind of got going.

Speaker 4 (13:11):
But yeah, I can easily see that, and I don't
think and I know our kind of resident statistician, you know,
Zach Seegers, has there been a state or city that
has had multiple championships on.

Speaker 1 (13:30):
Parades in a single year. Maybe two Boston didn't they
have the Hosts Patriots.

Speaker 5 (13:36):
I believe, yeah, but not three Ruins in there.

Speaker 1 (13:39):
Yeah, I'm not sure if if they got a third
win in there or not. Not the Bruins, I'm trying
to think of you had. I don't think the.

Speaker 2 (13:46):
Red Sox either. I'm just trying to I'm trying to
go through any of the Big four sports. If anybody
did three at once, I know that I know for
a fact that there's been uh, there's certainly been two,
but I can't think of three.

Speaker 3 (13:55):
What do you guys that most recently the Vegas did
it with the Vegas Golden Knights and the Las Vegas Aces.
We also had the Tampa Bay Lightning and Tampa Bay
Buccaneers in twenty twenty one. I will follow up on
examples of three teams. Oh, two thousand and two, the
LA Lakers, Anaheim Angels, and LA Sparks all won at
So we're.

Speaker 2 (14:15):
Counting the w NBA in there, all right, you guys like, well,
I'm pretty sure Boston had the Patriots and the Celtics.
I know, obviously, yeah, Tampa with the Lightning and the
But I don't know that three.

Speaker 4 (14:30):
At a time, like the three the trifector, hockey, the
NBA in the NFL.

Speaker 2 (14:37):
Okay, because baseball is actually more popular sports than hockey. Yeah,
so I'm just trying to think if there's anybody that's uh,
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (14:45):
Anyway, no one has ever had more than two.

Speaker 3 (14:48):
If you're looking at four major American sports, two is
the most. Okay, all right, and that would be Tampa, Boston.
It's happened several times. It looks like New York, the
Greater New York area has done it seven times. Los
Angeles has done it three Boston two, Detroit two, Baltimore once,
Cleveland once, Pittsburgh, wance, San Francisco once in Tampa.

Speaker 4 (15:09):
Okay, wouldn't that be a great twenty twenty six if
all three were able to have parades? I mean, fans
would not be able to contain themselves. Arrogant sports in America.

Speaker 5 (15:29):
Now kind of along this line.

Speaker 3 (15:31):
When the Bucks and Lightning won the championship, the Rays
made the World Series that year, and the Miami Heat,
which obviously is in in Tampa but is one of
the closer basketball teams to the city.

Speaker 1 (15:42):
Uh time.

Speaker 5 (15:44):
Florida, Florida that would be like Orlando or something like.

Speaker 1 (15:48):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (15:49):
Yeah, but you know it's still like a three hour drive.

Speaker 1 (15:51):
Four hour drive. It's not the furthest. Miami to Tampa. Yeah,
it's like six hour drive.

Speaker 2 (15:55):
Dude, that's a pretty lengthy that's a pretty lengthy drive.

Speaker 1 (15:58):
Yes, side to live in Tampa.

Speaker 2 (16:00):
He was.

Speaker 1 (16:00):
I remember that was a long drive.

Speaker 4 (16:02):
But either way, think about different fans, they'd be like,
we can't take them nowhere, right, I mean different fans.
They're everywhere showing their gear talking smack all three teams.

Speaker 1 (16:16):
That would be ridiculous. Yeah, that was uh yeah, Zack
is looking smugly at me. Now.

Speaker 5 (16:22):
I googled I got four on mine. But you know
he didn't teach there.

Speaker 1 (16:26):
Yeah he's saying it was five. It was at least five,
And I mean maybe that was just hitting at the
wrong time as far as that goes, but it was
an ugly drop there. Well, we gotta get a break.
We got a six pack. We come back. Broncos're our tackle.

(16:52):
Get helping on the official home of the Broncos. All Right,
all night koa.

Speaker 2 (17:13):

Speaker 5 (17:35):
Oh fantastic.

Speaker 3 (17:35):
I caught one of those, I think around Thanksgiving and
it was it was a great listen.

Speaker 1 (17:39):
Yeah, we're gonna have those Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, I
think the day after.

Speaker 2 (17:41):
I'm a hundred on that. We to figure all that out. Right, Now,
let's get to an NFL six pack.

Speaker 1 (17:47):
It's time for the NFL six path.

Speaker 2 (17:49):
I'm gonna trade the last insight and insight information you
can't find anywhere else.

Speaker 4 (17:55):
No.

Speaker 1 (17:56):
Six the Top six NFL headlines.

Speaker 3 (17:59):
What defensive superstar TJ. Watt has been hospitalized as his
lung is being evaluated after what experienced discomfort while working
out at the team's training facility. If What misses extended time,
could this shake up the standings in the AFC North
And how much time do you expect TJ.

Speaker 5 (18:21):
Watt to miss?

Speaker 1 (18:23):
I don't know. I don't know.

Speaker 2 (18:24):
I had somebody reach out to me today and suggest
that this was a dry needling accident that went wrong.

Speaker 1 (18:29):
I saw a similar report. Yeah, I don't know. I
don't know the answer to all that.

Speaker 2 (18:36):
And yes, his impact is obviously if he misses time,
that would be a significant loss for the Steelers, who
are in the thick of a battle against the Ravens
for their their division.

Speaker 1 (18:49):
I don't know the answers to all that.

Speaker 4 (18:50):
I just don't I would say yes because when you
look at where the Steelers are, they've been known for
two things over team's history with three things, having you know,
three coaches, running the ball, playing great defense. He's a
huge staple of what they do, and he leads the
team with seven sacks. So taking him out of the

(19:10):
mix is like, okay, well where does the added pressure
come from defensively?

Speaker 5 (19:14):
So it would be a huge laws if he cannot play.

Speaker 3 (19:17):
After their win this weekend, the Steelers have the leg
up in the division. Let's split the difference, say he
this is two of the remaining four games, Assuming that
all that who would you pick to win the division?

Speaker 2 (19:28):
Bend and then I still think I'm taking the Steelers
because Lamar's played thro an injury that's kind of undisclosed,
and I think that's I think it's obviously affecting him.
I think everybody can see that in terms of his performance.
I think, And there's there's a real chance, by the way,
if Mike Tomin does retire, there's a real chance every
team in the AFC North could have a different head
coach next year. Just putting that out there. As far

(19:50):
as the restaurant goes, Steeves probably win the division. I
think even with him out the last four that you've got,
you know, you get to Miami on Monday night, they
should be able to win that.

Speaker 1 (19:59):
Although Miami Mike McDaniels been coach his ass off.

Speaker 2 (20:03):
Steelers have got the Detroit Lions and then the Browns
and then the Ravens and the brawl.

Speaker 1 (20:06):
For it all at the end of the season. So
you know, I still think Steelers coming on top.

Speaker 4 (20:10):
I still give the nod to the Baltimore Ravens because
when you look at these two teams, when it's all
said and done, it's always been these two coaches these
two teams, and the Ravens have come out.

Speaker 3 (20:20):
On top two, Potentially a lot of change in that
AFC North this upcoming offseason. A former face in that rivalry,
Kenny Pickett, is reportedly likely to get the start for
the Raiders this weekend against the Philadelphia Eagles. Do you
think Pickets starting could help spark the Raiders offense? And

(20:41):
what do you expect Vegas's quarterback room to look like
in twenty twenty six.

Speaker 1 (20:46):
Well, I'll go ahead and go step further.

Speaker 2 (20:47):
Keny Pickett will start for the Raiders, and I will say,
I don't know if it's any better or worse. You know,
Gino that comeback story was great, but it sort of
looked like the wheels had followed off this year. I
don't know if it's a byproduct of the Raiders offense
to line Chip Kelly being wildly inept, or just the
wheels coming off with Gino at maybe accommodation of all three.

(21:07):
As far as the room next year, I expect them
to take a run at Kyler Murray if Chador comes available.
I wouldn't be surprised to see them make a move there.
I think there are options for the Raiders next year,
but I don't think next year. Their quarterback for next
year is on the roster right now.

Speaker 4 (21:21):
It's interesting because I thought that Gino was gonna be
the guy. And I'm not down on Gino. I'm down
on a personnel moves the Raiders made because they don't
have adequate guys outside of them to make plays. But
with Gino's injuries, why not throw pick it in? I mean,
what else can you lose? I mean, you get a
chance to get a look at him, and you give
him a slate of three or three games, and if

(21:43):
he looks like he could be the guy, you bring
him back. If not, now you go back into quarterback search.

Speaker 3 (21:48):
Do you think the Raiders are kicking themselves about having
missed out on Shador? I mean, after every Raiders lost
last year, Shardor was tweeting out thank you God. It
seemed very clear he wanted to go to Vegas to
play for the Raiders. Now he's you know, not that
he looks like the rookie of the year, but he's
having a pretty good start of things for Cleveland. Do
you think there's any buyers remorse or passers up remorse.

Speaker 2 (22:11):
I think if they if they want him, Cleveland could
clean house and they've got enough draft picks. They might
go after Mendoza. You know that may be a mistake,
but yeah, he's gonna be the top quarterback taking come on.
Him and Dante More and Ty Simpson are the best three.
And Simpson may go back to school and Simpson More
both may go back to.

Speaker 4 (22:29):
You miss me With that one, I would say, yes,
the Raiders probably kicking themselves and they would like to
go back in the Waiback machine and have a redo,
but that's not how life works.

Speaker 2 (22:40):
Well, they may get a redo, it'll just be a
little more pricey in terms of what they'd have to
give up. They didn't no longer be a fifth The
draft pick compensation would be more than that from from
Cleveland if they do go that route. Kyler Murray also
probably available this offseason as well.

Speaker 1 (22:53):
Three.

Speaker 3 (22:56):
If he plays Sunday, Philip Rivers will be just the
second grand parent in NFL history to play in an
NFL game. He'll join Brett farv yep who was forty
when he played as a grand parent. How much do
you think Rivers will play on Sunday? And if he plays,
what are your expectations for his performance against that Seattle
Seahawks defense.

Speaker 2 (23:17):
Well, I'll spoil the surprise for you. Now, Philip Rivers
will be playing. He will play significant snaps. He may
not get the first one, but he will get the
ball cup.

Speaker 3 (23:24):
So is that like a thing where Philip Lindsay was
technically the starter in that Kendle Hinten game. You're thinking
maybe Jonathan Taylor gets there, Tyler Warren gets the first snap.

Speaker 2 (23:32):
Could be Ryley Leonard. You know, there's there may there
may be in Ryley Leonard's gonna have some goal line
package stuff, you know, for the rest for the remainder
of the season. If he's healthy enough. It gives them
a little a little variance with all that. I think
they're gonna try some different things. He's going to play
in this game, though, I will tell you he may
not get he may not get the start, maybe a
deference to you know, the guys that are here, but
he will play significant snaps in that game.

Speaker 4 (23:53):
Well, you know, sign me up four, because it's been
about five years since Philip Rivers actually played in the
NFL and don a uniform, and the Colts were the
last one he had more than four thousand yards passing,
twenty four touchdowns and eleven interceptions. Now, is that indicative

(24:13):
of what he could possibly do on Sunday against Seattle's
balty defense.

Speaker 1 (24:17):
Probably not, But it'd be great to see.

Speaker 4 (24:19):
Him go out there and just kind of shot putting
the ball down the fields, though I've seen him do
in our time facing off against one another.

Speaker 3 (24:25):
Any chances you suit back up for the le Broncos
neck and do what play safety?

Speaker 2 (24:32):
No, He's like, they got a bench spot for me
right over here. I could sit and observe and I'll
put the points on for a closer seat.

Speaker 5 (24:39):
I was just telling bit about this side.

Speaker 1 (24:41):
No, I was like satic nerve. I was like, a
you're a Philip Rivers, Nick Ferguson. No, Lebron's got sciatica.
He's playing out there? Well, did he really have it?

Speaker 4 (24:54):
Was he?

Speaker 1 (24:54):
The only thing that was hurting on Lebron? Was it pride?
That's all I'm saying. Four the bucks or sorry?

Speaker 3 (25:04):
Nick Sirianni shot down the notion of benching Jalen Hurts
after his four interception performance last week, and called the
question from the reporter ridiculous. Do you think there's any
way Hurts doesn't return as the Eagles starter next season,
And do you think considering benching Hurts for Tanner McKee
is ridiculous?

Speaker 1 (25:23):
As Sirianni said.

Speaker 2 (25:24):
It is ridiculous. He's your quarterback, He's a guy until
he's not. He will be back next year. The person
who won't is Kevin Petullo, who very obviously does not
know how to run an NFL caliber offense.

Speaker 1 (25:35):
And it has been sort of the Eagles thing.

Speaker 2 (25:36):
It's like every other coordinator they have as some guy
they promoted internally that didn't deserve the promotion or wasn't
ready for the promotion.

Speaker 1 (25:43):
So end of the day, yes, it's ridiculous. Hurts will
be back Petullo won't.

Speaker 4 (25:49):
We all, there's no way that you bench Hurts even
after that performance. Two of those interceptions probably on him,
two were not with tip balls, but he still go
on him. As you know, statistics are concerned. But no,
you don't move on past this guy. This guy helped
you win the Super Bowl and it got to that twice.
That would be the ultimate knee jerk reaction. So no

(26:11):
Hurts is fine.

Speaker 1 (26:12):
At what point do you pull the ripcord?

Speaker 3 (26:14):
Has that Super Bowl bottom you know through twenty twenty
eight to the end of his contract or is it
a situation. I mean, we've seen this franchise move off
of Carson Wentz. I know, Winston win the Super Bowl,
but it definitely played a large role in them getting
that first.

Speaker 1 (26:26):
Right I think if.

Speaker 2 (26:31):
Yeah, I think if you go through another OC that
you know you have to go get an offensive coordinator
that's very They can they can craft an offense that
works for Jalen Hurts, and we've seen there are certain
offenses that do and he can excel in those and
certain that don't and he just doesn't. And I think
if you go it with another cop, if you find
a competent offensive coordinator and he's unable to do it,
then at that point you got.

Speaker 4 (26:50):
To make a decision, and you can't do it because
once again it'll be a drastic move, no knowing as
though you've had like three offensive coordinators.

Speaker 1 (26:58):
Yeah, makes no sense. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (27:01):
Five.

Speaker 3 (27:02):
The Bucks focused Amazon Prime documentary series will begin airing today.
I believe that's why they're on Thursday Night Football. They're
a little corporate synergy. Do you have any interest in
checking this documentary series out? And do you think there's
an over satirization or oversatrization of in season.

Speaker 1 (27:23):
NFL documentarian content.

Speaker 3 (27:25):
You know, you've got the Quarterback series, the Receiver series,
several different versions of Hard Knocks. Now now this latest
Amazon Prime venture. Do you think it's all and then
there's the All or Nothing series too, So is it
all at a point too much?

Speaker 2 (27:38):
No, because I think if it was, then people wouldn't
consume it and then they quit make it. I will
say that there are some of it, Like I don't
watch Hard knockes because there's nothing on it's such a
they've taken all the soul out of Hard Knocks. There's
nothing ever that's leaked in those Hard Knocks.

Speaker 1 (27:52):
Things super filtered out. Yeah, it's worth it.

Speaker 2 (27:55):
Some of these documentaries should get a little something out,
a little nugget here there. But there's nothing out of
Hard Knocks that you can't get out of a cliff.
If there's ever anything in there, you'll get it in
a clip on social media and it'll be done. So
for me, like, yeah, I'll probably watch this because you know,
I lived in Tampa, I worked down there in Tampa,
so I'm gonna I'll probably watch that.

Speaker 1 (28:14):
But you know, I don't if it were I don't know,
if it were Jacksonville, would I watch it? Probably not.

Speaker 5 (28:21):
Well, I'm I'm gonna watch it because here's the thing.

Speaker 1 (28:24):
Here's what we know.

Speaker 4 (28:25):
We all consume everything NFL, and the NFL knows that.
That's why we're having so many of these, you know, documentaries,
and I mean we didn't get that that Giant. The
Giants just kind of messed everything up with their end
season thing. But everyone wants more NFL. Like if you
said that, I.

Speaker 5 (28:43):
Don't know the NHL was doing something like that, Eh.

Speaker 4 (28:47):
If you don't know who the team was, if it
was like the Lightning of Florida, I'll watch it, but
or the Avs.

Speaker 5 (28:53):
Other than that, not too much. So we're all suckers, man,
We're all suckers.

Speaker 1 (29:00):
Sorry.

Speaker 3 (29:00):
I thought the ones that have been really interesting were
the off season one because it gave us insight into
something we hadn't seen before. Also to your point, then
some stuff actually leaked out of that that was pretty
darn interesting. And any given Sunday, I think that's what
it's called on Netflix where they did the SEC one.
Seeing that different angle of it too, the college side
of things, I thought was very cool, but.

Speaker 1 (29:20):
It's a bit of a tired model. Yeah, I mean
that's the thing. I think they'll continue to make this
content until it no longer gets consumed.

Speaker 3 (29:28):
Six Panthers owner not our boss, David Tepper said today
that he believes the team's head coach and front office
are building something special in Carolina. What do you think
of the Carolina Panthers rebuild as it currently stands, and
do you agree with David Tepper, the Panthers owner, that
they're building something special?

Speaker 1 (29:48):
Well, anybody named Dave Pepper has got to have a
great opinion. Honestly, I agree with him.

Speaker 2 (29:58):
I think Dave Canl's is not a great job. I
don't think anybody expected Carolina to be where they are
right now. I think I think canal has has done
a great job. I think, you know, they still need
some personnel. There's still some things they've got to ironed
out there. You got to figure out a price on
easy indeed the guy. But overall, I think Canalis has
done a great job down there in Carolina, and I
think they're well ahead of where everyone thought they'd be.

Speaker 1 (30:18):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (30:19):
Actually to see that the team is five and three
in the conference and they're four and two at home,
and they're neck and neck with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
who are playing tonight. Yeah, that's a huge turnaround because remember,
you know they're not gone. Bryce Young well, he's too small,
he's not going to be able to get it done.
And then the Panthers had that miserable first year. You

(30:40):
bring in Canalis and that tears everything around. So having
the head coach be on the same page with the
front office and ownership willing to allow them to do
what they need to do.

Speaker 5 (30:50):
I think Caroline is going to shock a lot of people.

Speaker 4 (30:53):
Albeit, guess what, they're not in the the AFC West,
They're in the NFC South, so they're in good company.

Speaker 3 (31:00):
If you had to bet right now, you talked about
that Bucks Panthers race going on, who would you pick
to win that division and earn a playoff spot? As
it stands today, the Panthers are the Bucks. Well, I mean, mathematically,
the Bucks have the edge.

Speaker 2 (31:12):
I think you'd take them, and then they've got the
experience you know as well, where Carolina has just been
more abundant.

Speaker 1 (31:16):
On the way up. So I think you'd take.

Speaker 4 (31:19):
Tampa well, I mean, based on how things are unfolding
for Tampa Bay thus far. Yeah, I mean all the
Chips lean towards towards now because you have more of
an experience quarterback and you need that if you're talking
about winning games in NFL. So, yeah, you have to
give the nod to the Temple Buccaneers.

Speaker 1 (31:40):
Talking about that that quarterback situation.

Speaker 3 (31:42):
Do you think the Panthers are locked in with Bryce
Young or do you think they might move on this offseason.
I think it's he's still he is trying to prove
that he is the franchise guy. I'm not saying they're
actively looking to move off him, but they are not
sold one hundred percent that he's the franchise guy.

Speaker 4 (31:55):
Well, I think obviously every team looks to add and
upgrade their rosters and if there is a rookie guy
coming out or a veteran guy who they feel would
be adequate kind of a veteran leadership to help Bryce
Young and Long, Yeah, of course you make that move.

Speaker 5 (32:10):
But I think Bryce is playing decent football right now.

Speaker 1 (32:12):
Yeah, I'm certainly better than he was he started off
the season.

Speaker 2 (32:15):
He's in eighteen touchdowns to nine picks on the year,
and he's throwing about sixty four percent passing, so not terrible.

Speaker 1 (32:21):
Hey, he had a great game against the Rams.

Speaker 2 (32:23):
Yeah, so I got to kund of something out of
nowhere too. You're watching that game and you're like, Wow,
the Rams are just laying an egg here.

Speaker 1 (32:30):
Gotta love that. Broncos Country Tonight rolls on after this
