Speaker 1 (00:00):
You know, Northern Colorado was given Texas Tech all they
can handle for quite a while in that in that
basketball game there, but they ultimately fell by eleven ninety
to one one to Texas Tech there. But what a
great night by the USC Bears. Nothing to be ashamed of.
Certainly beat the twenty five and a half point spread
that was that was set up in this one and

(00:22):
the game that was certainly closer than the final score there,
So good on them. Thanks Parker Gabriel for joining us
in the last segment, to Steve Atwater for joining us in.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
The first hour.

Speaker 1 (00:31):
The city part of that You Go Broncos Country Tonight,
that Complash podcast or Reverach podcast, Apple iTunes, Spotify, the
free and redesigned iHeartRadio where I interrupt Grant Smith while
he's talking to our boss Dave Tepper just to get
that drop.

Speaker 2 (00:43):
What else we got here?

Speaker 1 (00:44):
The Green Bay Packers took quite a toll in losing
to the Denver Broncos.

Speaker 3 (00:50):
Well, it's almost like what Danos said and Avenges, you know,
does day extract the heavy toll? And that's exactly what
it did to the Ever Broncos based on a number
of injuries to key guys, and this is a war
of attrition, not like you know, the military whatever, but
it's the NFL sports version of war of attrition and

(01:12):
being able to survive these last couple of games and
come out healthy. This is why the emphasis should be
on getting that number one seed, regardless of anyone at
the Broncos facility saying, well, they're not really thinking about that,
that's not in the pecking order. It should be because

(01:32):
you want to remain healthy. That is how you essentially
proverbially speaking, secure the bag, right if you keep your
guys healthy. And that's hard to say because this still
is the NFL.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
Yeah, I mean it's a difficult thing to do, and
there is an element of luck to that in terms
of who stays healthy, who doesn't get rolled up on
or whatever else maybe the case with those kinds of things.
But I mean, you know, the Broncos have mostly stayed
healthy this season.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
I mean, we lost JK.

Speaker 1 (01:59):
Dobbinson, as Brandon Jones been powers to set to come back.
We already got Dada Adkins back. The Archie thing is
a big question mark for this week. That's one that
said really is a big question mark for this week.
But it's for the rest of it, is for how
it goes. I mean, they've been mostly mostly healthy this year.

Speaker 4 (02:14):
But see that that's the thing. Mostly healthy.

Speaker 3 (02:17):
Lady Luck has been on their side for the most part.

Speaker 4 (02:21):
And you know, even.

Speaker 3 (02:22):
Though there was a huge question of the Broncos having
that buy so late in the season, and after that
that game in London against the Jets, they didn't rest.
They continue to play, so you could tell the players
were a little both well, let me back up for
a second, both physically and mentally exhausted. So being able
to get through this this last three game stretch is

(02:43):
going to be a tall task because you just compete
against the Packers on Sunday and we're talking about a
number of players. Marvin moms who's having his stinger and
showed the injury. Justice Sernard had the ankle, Brandon Jones
he has the pack he's out rj the rib injury.
And still don't know if you would play on Sunday

(03:05):
and then on a short week, albeit it's not against
Patrick Mahomes, you still got Gardner Minshew that you're facing
on Thursday on Christmas, right, So managing that and trying
to get through those two games, knowing as though you
got the charges after that. That's very vital to the
Broncos' success moving forward.

Speaker 4 (03:26):
And we've seen it happen before. We watched it happen in.

Speaker 3 (03:29):
The game against the Green Bay Package on Sunday. You
lose a marquee guy. That changes the trajectory of everything
you can do offensively, defensively, as far as play calling,
getting after the quarterback like what happened with Michael Parson.

Speaker 4 (03:44):
So fingers crossed, four leaf clover.

Speaker 3 (03:47):
Whatever you have to do to make sure that the
Broncos the lady luck on their side. I see back
there banging on the table. I guess he's knocking on wood.
Whatever you need to do, Broncos Country, you need to
do it.

Speaker 2 (04:00):
Yeah, And this is one of those things.

Speaker 1 (04:02):
I mean, you're at that point in the season and
we saw, you know, I mean, the Chiefs lose Pat Mahomes.
They Alsopet Holmes, not just for this season, but he's
not going to.

Speaker 2 (04:10):
Be back for the start of next season.

Speaker 1 (04:11):
Elsie Lac, You're not even gonna be able to run
on that thing like you used to for for well
over a year.

Speaker 2 (04:19):
You know that's a serious injury.

Speaker 1 (04:21):
Now, he's already got the surgery, but the rehab time
on that is at least nine months.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
So I mean, you know, it's not just injury.

Speaker 1 (04:29):
There's also significant injury that you're seeing Michael Parsons going
down in that game with the Broncos. We saw it
rapping right in front of our eyes. You know, a
player who's going to be out for the better part
of nine months. Yeah, he's going to be out for
rehabbit it for nine months.

Speaker 4 (04:43):
I know. Mahomes said that he's looking to beat those.

Speaker 2 (04:46):
Odds, so we all are. But it's everybody's looking to
beat the odds on whatever that is.

Speaker 3 (04:51):
But now, once again, this is why I'm thinking, I
don't have the pack on the package. But the Chiefs
winning on on Thursday night on Christmas. But this gives
Gardner Minshew an opportunity to really kind of showcase his
ability and the time that he's spent with the team
and how well that's paid off because he now has

(05:12):
an opportunity he plays well, now they can pistle him in,
you know, and I just saying put in a pen,
but piscle him in as being the starter for the
Chiefs rolling into twenty twenty six.

Speaker 2 (05:23):
Yeah, and it's maybe he might be.

Speaker 1 (05:26):
I think this is basically an audition for Gardner Minshew
to to be, you know, kind of that guy and
come back and be the bridge for he needs to
play well. He needs to play well. That's gonna be
you know, and he's gonna be given it. As all that, that
Thursday night football game suddenly looks a little less daunting
as you wonder if if the same guys are gonna
be out there trying to play in a meaningless game
on Christmas on a short week in Kansas City. So

(05:48):
it's gonna be interesting to see how how Kansas City
approaches at okay.

Speaker 3 (05:51):
Based on how the Broncos limped out of his game
against the Packers, and depending on how guys come out of.

Speaker 4 (05:57):
That game physically.

Speaker 3 (05:59):
If you were or Sean Payton knowing as though you're
not playing against Mahomes, and I'm not saying that's that's
a throwaway game, but would you look to sit certain
guys out to get more younger players more experienced and
that particular game.

Speaker 1 (06:15):
I mean, I'm looking to win games, whatever that may be.
So if I'm the Broncos, I'm doing whatever. If I'm
Kansas City. Yeah, I'm probably testing the bottom of my
roster and seeing some guys that normally wouldn't get stars,
putting them in there and see what they got. I
may not do a total like they did when they
sat everybody against the Broncos the end of last year,
but I probably I'm probably resting some guys and maybe

(06:35):
some of the you know, some of those veterans and
all that kind of stuff, and coming back with Okay,
we got some younger guys. I'd like to see what
they could do in this one, and we'll run with them.
You know, two or three four guys that you really
want to see if they are in the cards in
the future for your team.

Speaker 3 (06:47):
I think if things work out the way I'm hoping
that they work out on Sunday, the Broncos get the
dub you look at the Chargers and other teams that
need to lose for the Broncos to be pushed up
high here. Maybe on that Thursday night game right when
you feel those are you're in a good place.

Speaker 4 (07:06):
Maybe maybe that's a game for Darist did them.

Speaker 1 (07:09):
Yeah, I think we're getting a little ahead of ourselves
on that stuff right now. You the other part of
that is if you're the Broncos, I don't think you
want to rest guys while you're while there in a groove.

Speaker 2 (07:18):
You know.

Speaker 4 (07:19):
That's not to say that you have to.

Speaker 3 (07:21):
You're not trying to rest like all twenty two guys
on the starting you know, Office of Defense, You're you're
arresting certain guys here and there.

Speaker 2 (07:28):
Yeah, but I mean cool, like, you know, maybe i'd rest.

Speaker 1 (07:31):
I'm not gonna wrest, but Nicks, you know really yeah, no,
we got him in a groove.

Speaker 2 (07:36):
I'm not trying to take him out of that.

Speaker 4 (07:38):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (07:38):
Saw last year? Was it last time more of the Browns?

Speaker 3 (07:41):
Good?

Speaker 1 (07:41):
Was it?

Speaker 2 (07:41):
Remember?

Speaker 1 (07:42):
And then they arrested Joe Flacco and all that, and
then they just tanked in the playoffs like that. That
momentum and that moment that streak they've been on, it
it all just evaporated.

Speaker 3 (07:49):
Okay, okay, before before we diagnose this, give me the
scenario again that needs to take place this weekend that
would change what the Broncos are doing.

Speaker 4 (07:59):
Well, it is the charge the Chargers have to lose.

Speaker 1 (08:02):
Yeah, first of all, you have to you have to win.
First of all, that's faint beat the Jags. Yeah, the Broncos.
So in order for Denver to clinch the AFC West
Division title and the AFC number one seed loan first
round by home field advantage, right, Denver has to win win.

Speaker 2 (08:19):
The Chargers have to either lose or tie.

Speaker 4 (08:22):
Let's go lose.

Speaker 1 (08:23):
New England has to lose. Okay, Buffalo has to lose
or tie. Now, Buffalo is playing the Browns, so that
seems unlikely. The Patriots are playing the Ravens. That doesn't
seem incredibly likely either. The Jags are obviously playing US.
That feels like it's gonna be a tough game, but
I think the Broncos can win it.

Speaker 3 (08:41):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (08:41):
And then the Chargers are playing the Dallas Cowboys, which
also does not necessarily.

Speaker 4 (08:45):
Feel like, uh, you know, Gran says that that can happen.

Speaker 1 (08:49):
Yet three, I think we're gonna get none of these
except the Denver win.

Speaker 3 (08:53):
I think.

Speaker 2 (08:54):
I think I think all four of these teams are
gonna win. Cowboys fighting for their playoff live. No they're done.
No they're not. Yeah, they they got less than one
percent chance.

Speaker 1 (09:02):
Okay, Statistically, if the Eagles were to lose out, if
the Cowboys were to win out and they got some help.

Speaker 2 (09:08):
Yes, then Dallas would.

Speaker 4 (09:10):
Technically speaking, there's still a chance, but.

Speaker 3 (09:15):
I think things change coming out of this game on
Sunday against the Jaguars if more guys at key positions
get banged up. I mean, we saw PS two take
a knee to the ribs.

Speaker 2 (09:31):
From yes to me, here's the thing.

Speaker 1 (09:34):
If if you if you win this Jags game and
then all those conditions happens and you've locked it up, Yeah,
I might rest people against the Chiefs. And the reason
for that is it's a short week and my guys
have a chance to get almost a bye week and
get recovered. But I wouldn't rest people against the Chargers.
Imagine how much the NFL would hate that.

Speaker 5 (09:52):
You already lose Patrick Mahoe Chris game and then you
the Broncos are resting.

Speaker 2 (10:00):
Tell the league, hey, Jared's set him against Gardner Minshew.

Speaker 1 (10:03):
You win up for Os versus Mix at the start
of the season and you wind up with Jared's set
them against the Minshew.

Speaker 2 (10:09):
Can freakn't flex a Christmas nightcame?

Speaker 4 (10:11):
No, you really can't tell them. Hey, let the door
hit you with a good Lord splitcher.

Speaker 2 (10:14):
That's yeah, that's.

Speaker 3 (10:15):
All you can say at that point, because you're trying
to move this thing along and position your team to
be successful down the stretch, and the only way to
guarantee that is by trying to make sure guys are healthy.

Speaker 1 (10:28):
But I'm not resting them against it. You know, I
would wrest them against the Chiefs, but I bring them
back against the charge. You know why, because you're gonna
get that first round by on top of that, you
rest guys.

Speaker 2 (10:35):
You're talking about a month off. A month off? Does
it matter?

Speaker 5 (10:42):
I mean, I guess Nick, you from your playing experience,
does it matter when you have like young players at
key positions compared to veterans, You know, like when Peyton
Manning and Tom Brady were getting the first round by
every other year, I feel like I'd feel a lot
more comfortable resting those guys than someone like bow Knicks
in a second year.

Speaker 3 (11:01):
Well, if you have a veteran squad, then you think
about that. You want you may rest some of those guys,
but also you tie this into a grant what's their
level of playoff experience? Because if you got a group
of veteran guys and they've never been in the playoffs,
and I'm talking about winning or losing.

Speaker 4 (11:20):
Now you may think.

Speaker 3 (11:21):
About playing those guys, but at the same time, what
you wrestled with is the fact and the idea that
what we're talking about with Michael Parsons and Patrick Mahomes
that can happen, right And I know when we think
about sports, you say.

Speaker 4 (11:34):
It can happen at any point.

Speaker 2 (11:35):
Yeah, I can.

Speaker 3 (11:36):
But you don't want it to happen when you were
this close, because now it's like saying through your hand,
right now, now everything you fought forward to this point,
you're now lose. So the idea is that maybe you
sit certain players, even if if the Broncos find themselves
in that situation, maybe you put Bo in and treat
it like a preseason game.

Speaker 4 (11:57):
You give him maybe.

Speaker 3 (11:59):
Ten or fifteen players that you want to work on,
and some of those are handoffs, and then you hand
it right off to your backup quarterback in Jarris Diddam.

Speaker 2 (12:07):
I think I agree with Ben on this one.

Speaker 5 (12:09):
I think just just with the circumstances of our team,
I don't I don't like resting our guys because.

Speaker 1 (12:15):
I mean, again, if you get that first round by
and you get that sewn up, and you rest guys
against Kansas City. Well, then there's no game that Sunday,
so you're off. Then following you'll come back the following
Sunday and you rest against the Chargers. Then you've got
the bye week. Well you you're talking about a full
month without a game.

Speaker 3 (12:35):
But yeah, but you know you're not wrestling that many guys,
and you're not resting that many.

Speaker 4 (12:39):
Guys, but that many games, that's not what you're doing.

Speaker 2 (12:42):
Who would be some players that you'd rest Sack Allen,
Zach Allen, Courtland, Sutton.

Speaker 3 (12:48):
PS two Maybe, I mean this this is big exit opportunity.

Speaker 2 (12:54):
Probably, Yeah, he's got her shoulder. Anybody who's digged up,
you know what, I know everybody's think.

Speaker 1 (13:00):
You know what I mean, you know Harvey, you know
I might we might run straighter those guys out there,
just to you know, get them.

Speaker 3 (13:06):
This would be there's been great opportunity to give Johnny
Barron some more run because you can flip flop him and.

Speaker 1 (13:12):
Ja Kwan, I mean one playing nigga, one playing corner. Maybe,
I mean I might consider that Great Laws Green Law,
who's had soft tissue, you know issues, were probably doing that.

Speaker 3 (13:22):
Okay, No, that's where things kind of change, right, You
gotta be careful because if Justice Trendan can't go because
it's ankle, you're already thin at the like the linebacker position.

Speaker 1 (13:32):
Bringing Drew Sanders back. Finally, we're just I'm just knowing
he's just been injured. No, but I mean, like, if
I'm looking at that, but if I'm looking at resting guys,
you're talking about maybe three or four guys, and you're
talking about veterans who been around a while that are
at high load capacities, you know, and and or guys
like like McGlinchey who's got the shoulder issue right now,
give me an extra week to get that fully healthy,

(13:55):
you know, those kinds of things. I'm not wholesale resting people,
and I'm certainly not resting by Oh you're on a
hot streak, man.

Speaker 2 (14:02):
You got to keep that rolling. You gotta keep that
you gotta keep him in that groove.

Speaker 4 (14:04):
Okay, But here, think about what you're saying. Even if
you kept him in.

Speaker 3 (14:09):
This so called groove that you're referring to, they get
the number one seed, he's going to be out for
a significant.

Speaker 2 (14:16):
Amount of time, like a month.

Speaker 3 (14:17):
Yes, So for me, I would push for the fact
if he did play, he's only playing a handful of play.

Speaker 2 (14:25):
Or I'm playing at least a half out of that
Chargers game.

Speaker 4 (14:28):
I mean at least.

Speaker 1 (14:29):
You just can't get guys that Look, you see what
happens when guys get that much time off. Remember when
did the playoff? Whereas college football is short and you
have Nick Stable with guys are out front, and you
saw how rusty these teams are.

Speaker 3 (14:38):
Well, let me play devil's advocate in the in this
this scenario. All right, I get what you're saying. You
let him play. He gets injured, and guess what's gonna happen.
People are gonna be screaming like they were screaming at
dan Quinn when Jayde Daniels got injured.

Speaker 2 (14:51):
But that was quarter It wasn't even bo Jayde putting
yourself back out there.

Speaker 4 (14:55):
He's still quarterbacks. They get injured, now it's gonna.

Speaker 3 (14:57):
Be like, oh man, you know what, the team was
in a different I mean they're in a different position
now because I mean, obviously that's a Russell Willson.

Speaker 4 (15:09):
Huh well me love.

Speaker 2 (15:17):
Oh yeah, I don't know.

Speaker 1 (15:18):
I just did it because I didn't understand that reading it,
some people would sex so five with you.

Speaker 3 (15:23):
Ben.

Speaker 2 (15:23):
I'm not sure why Nick doesn't get this. There you go.

Speaker 4 (15:26):
That one was English.

Speaker 1 (15:27):
Uh, you don't see anybody tell everything's locked up the
vision of the number one seed. And I said, I'm disagree,
says resting all your players a great option time off
never hurts anyone, just as the Rockies World Series team
to have a Rockies World Series team, and you can't
have the Rockies have a winning record again one hundred losses.

Speaker 3 (15:48):
Listen, I would be willing to forfeit, Benjamin Albright for that.

Speaker 1 (15:52):
For a Rockies world Seriously, Yes, you know my person
who sacrificed. We could do it, Joe versus of all
can I you know, I might sacrifice myself for that.
We could get that. I'd be willing. I love lived
a full life. There's not much there's not really much
ahead for me at this point.

Speaker 5 (16:06):
Hey, you're closer to sixty now, Yeah, they're closer to
sixty from here.

Speaker 1 (16:10):
I mean, you know, at the end of the day,
sacrificing me if it's a small price to pay at
the end of the day. Quite a few texts in
here talking about not wanting to rest the players. Uh,
if you're gonna sell that with Nick, the fans are
gonna have to get a harder sales pitch.

Speaker 2 (16:27):
Here's one here from the seven to seven five.

Speaker 1 (16:29):
Come on, Nick, now you know they're talking about putting
that benchwarmer president of quarterbacks that can't do much. They
came from the Seattle Seahawks getting paid two hundred and
fifty seven million. You're like, don't let that guy get hurt.
They wouldn't have benched him quick? How fast you forgot?
I don't I didn't understand that one.

Speaker 2 (16:45):
What.

Speaker 3 (16:45):
Yeah, the team was in a different I mean they're
in a different position now because I mean obviously that's
a RUSSU will set.

Speaker 4 (16:58):
Uh well we love.

Speaker 1 (17:06):
Oh yeah, I don't know. I just did it because
I didn't understand that. I thought text reading it some
people would six o five with you. Ben Not sure
why Nick doesn't get this? There you go, that one
was English. Uh you don't see anybody tell everything's locked up?
The envision in the number one seed and nine Sevenal
disagree says resting all your players a great option time
off never hurts anyone. Just as the Rockies World Series

(17:27):
team have a Rockies World Series team, and you can
have the Rockies have a winning record.

Speaker 2 (17:36):
Again, I'm not one hundred losses.

Speaker 4 (17:38):
Listen. I would be willing to forfeit Benjamin Albright for that.

Speaker 2 (17:42):
For a Rockies world.

Speaker 4 (17:43):
Seriously, yes, you know, I would vol person who's sacrificed.

Speaker 1 (17:47):
We could do a Joe versus Volcano, I'd get I
might sacrifice myself for that. We could get that. I'd
be willing. I've lived a full life. There's not much
There's not really much ahead for me at this point.

Speaker 5 (17:57):
You're closer to sixty now, yeah, close to sixty.

Speaker 2 (18:00):
It's all downhill from here. I mean, you know, at the.

Speaker 1 (18:02):
End of the day, sacrifice in the defense a small
price to pay at the end of the day, stood
NFL six pick.

Speaker 2 (18:07):
It's time for the NFL six pack. I'm going to
take the last year insight and insight information you can't
find anywhere else.

Speaker 1 (18:16):
No.

Speaker 2 (18:17):
Six the top six NFL headline. What let's see here?
How about the Jags.

Speaker 1 (18:25):
Jags are said to be without by Joel Tuton for
a bit, so they added another running back to the
roster today. They have announced the signing of DJ Dallas
linebacker Jack Kaijer went on ir and to corresponding move
Dallas played three games with the Panthers earlier this year
at one carry for no gain during that stint, hunder
and twenty one carries five hundred and seventeen yards four
touchdowns in seventy eight games for the Cardinals and Seahawks.

Speaker 2 (18:47):
Over the last five seasons.

Speaker 1 (18:49):
Jaggs also announced the open linebacker Jaya Littleclouds twenty one
day practice window.

Speaker 2 (18:54):
Is DJ Dallas being added to the mix? It all
affect anything with the Jags.

Speaker 3 (18:58):
It doesn't affect anything at the beginning stages of things.
But once again, when you add a running back this
late in the process, you wonder how many touches that
they're going to receive. And we'll have to wait to
see what DJ Dallas's impact would be on Sunday. But well,
you just think about his surest size at two hundred
and seventeen pounds, that is still the low and you

(19:22):
don't need to know that many plays with someone to
hand you the ball and say run forward. So we'll
see how this plays out on Sunday.

Speaker 1 (19:31):
I mean, as far as this caint stuff goes, I'm
not sure that this is anything other than a body.

Speaker 2 (19:34):
But you know, we'll see. He does have some experience too.

Speaker 1 (19:38):
How much better is Patrick Mahomes than Garter Minshew? Those
sportsbooks think it's eight points. That's how much the point
spread shifted on Sunday's Chiefs Titans game after Mahomes suffered
a torn acl at LCL, leaving the Chiefs with Garter
Minshew as their starting quarterback for the rest of the season.

Speaker 2 (19:54):
Prior to mahomes.

Speaker 1 (19:55):
Injury, to look aheadline on Chiefs Titans was chief by
eleven point five. After the injury, chief are favored by
three point five. Eight point swing shows just how valuable
Pat Mahomes he is. Over under on the game thirty
seven and a half, lowest in the NFL this week,
suggesting the room for low scoring game between two.

Speaker 2 (20:12):
Teams out of playoff contention.

Speaker 1 (20:13):
Honestly, actually I might hit the over on that one.
That both those teams have been scoring points lately. Beyonder,
all right, all right, you want to make a little wager,
Grant beyonder.

Speaker 4 (20:22):
I think he's telling you already, Ben under twice.

Speaker 2 (20:26):
If you'd like to put a personal wager on this,
I'm keeping my Christmas Belle. Yeah, so, I thought, you.

Speaker 3 (20:35):
Know what, this is gonna be very interesting game. Once again,
I can't see these out for the first time in
the past six to seven years. And you get a
lot of players an opportunity to play. And if you're
Andy Reid and Rett Beach, you see what players. They
still means something too. So let's see what happened. Like

(20:55):
I said Gardner, Minshew still has to go out and
perform well if he wants to remain on the team.

Speaker 4 (21:01):
As it started quarterback. Moving into twenty twenty.

Speaker 1 (21:03):
Six three, the first rule of tank club is don't
talk about tank club. Today, Cowboys owner and general manager
Jerry Jones graized the third rail by acknowledging the very
real temptation for non playoff teams to tank. Asked on
one O five to three the fan in Dallas whether
the Cowboys will rest players like quarterback Dak Prescott down

(21:23):
the stretch once they're less than one percent playoff probability
sinks to zero point zero, Jones said out loud.

Speaker 2 (21:29):
The thing the league office.

Speaker 1 (21:30):
Would prefer to remain quiet, which is quote, well, we
worry about that circumstance when the time comes. But a
win is very very important in the NFL. Win is
important to me, and a win does a lot of
positive things. I don't care when it happens, and we
owe it to that mirror. We owe it to our
fans that we want to walk out there and be competitive.
We will not try for draft position, we won't be
looking at anything like that.

Speaker 2 (21:52):
We'll be out there playing football. We'll bring them to play.

Speaker 1 (21:54):
That's a long winded way of saying, we'll play football
under whatever the circumstances are.

Speaker 2 (21:58):
End quote. I've been playing to win. Of course isn't
an absolute.

Speaker 1 (22:02):
Chiones admitted he will consider strategically resting players if a win.
There is a postseason game blooming and yeah, I mean
wins aren't important here. They're not gonna win. And the
NFL is trying to maintain a firewall between late season
meaningless games and the offseason draft. But the reality is

(22:22):
there are teams a tank. There are teams of soft tank.
There's almost soft tanking right now. I mean, at the
end of the day, you can't stop teams from doing it,
and do you really even want to stop teams?

Speaker 4 (22:33):
You can't stop teams from doing it.

Speaker 3 (22:35):
But this is why the NFL decided to put a
lot of those important divisional games on the back end
of the schedule, and the thing that changes that when
you experienced certain injuries to your offensive defense, you have
to do what's in the best interests of your team,
not into what's in the best interest of the league.
So I can get the idea of some teams kind

(22:56):
of thinking about resting players, but you just have to
continue to go out.

Speaker 1 (22:59):
They could be Yeah, I mean, at the end of
the day, the NFL is a viewable product. Doesn't want
to put games on you know, Netflix is paying for
Christmas games.

Speaker 2 (23:10):
It doesn't want the teams that are tanking.

Speaker 1 (23:11):
Right, you know you're gonna want you want them teams
to be playing for at least give the veneer that
you are playing at that at that point. But I mean,
come on that. Let's be real here.

Speaker 2 (23:26):
There's some dead matchups this week and too.

Speaker 5 (23:29):
I mean Jets and Saints, Vikings, Giants, Bengals, Dolphins.

Speaker 2 (23:35):
Oh my god, Bengals.

Speaker 1 (23:38):
I'm sorry, I don't Falcons.

Speaker 5 (23:42):
What do you mean I've given up already the freaking
four and ten.

Speaker 2 (23:47):
They gave up a few games ago for Brown's linebacker
Devin Bush was found not guilty of assault and harassment charges.

Speaker 1 (23:55):
On Tuesday, Bush was arrested and charged in May uh
after a dispute with his girlfriend. And I'm going to
let you guys go ahead and guess hear what this
dispute was over in the couple's Pittsburgh area home. Guess
why the police were called and why he was arrested
and charged back in May after a dispute with his girlfriend.

Speaker 3 (24:13):
Over what they had a dispute over which Netflix station
or no Netflix show? To what.

Speaker 2 (24:22):
I'm gonna say, there was some infidelity.

Speaker 1 (24:24):
Over mash potatoes of a couple of Fifth Third Area home.
Skertie Leka, twenty seven, accused Bush of assaulting her taking
her car keys after she started videoing the argument with
her iPhone for the newspaper. Leka testified Bush chased her
through the home, pinned her to a massage tables, he
tried to arrest a cell phone from her. He had
cut some abrasions on the right wrist and toe. Bush

(24:47):
admitted to smashing the cell phone, but denied somehow miraculously
injuring his girlfriend in doing all of those things that
he was filmed doing. He ranked second on the Browns
with ninety three tackles. Two questions here, Fellows, what is
the I must argument? You've ever gotten in over and
and how in the world is Dennion Bush trying to

(25:08):
say that, yes, I did everything except.

Speaker 2 (25:10):
Injure my girlfriend. Those cuts and bruises are phantom.

Speaker 3 (25:13):
Well, the dumbest argument I ever got in with anyone,
someone acchoosing me at cheating when I wasn't cheating and
they were cheating.

Speaker 1 (25:19):
Oh projection, Yes, okay, yes, all right.

Speaker 4 (25:23):
What about two grant.

Speaker 2 (25:26):
Unloading the dishwasher?

Speaker 5 (25:27):
Okay, that's a fair one, because like it takes three
and a half minutes maybe to do, but I did
it last time, you're doing it this time.

Speaker 2 (25:37):
I ended up doing it both time.

Speaker 4 (25:40):
Enough.

Speaker 2 (25:41):
Yeah, this is just hilarious, Like you gotta works over
mashed potatoes.

Speaker 3 (25:47):
Alright, listen, man, I've seen people get into arguments over
lesser things.

Speaker 2 (25:53):
Trust me, I've they edit argument somewhere lesser things. Are
you gonna give us years?

Speaker 4 (25:57):
No good?

Speaker 2 (25:58):
Next story? I've got one. I've hit some interesting arguments
over Twitter. Let's say that.

Speaker 1 (26:07):
Let's see here, how about the Dolphins might have a
different quarterback for their Week sixteen game against the Bengals.

Speaker 2 (26:13):
Right, there might be some spice in this, with Zach Wilson.

Speaker 1 (26:16):
Maybe getting the nod and coach Mike McDaniel said after
Monday Night's loss with the Steelers he'd have to look
at film of the game before commenting on the possibility
of a quarterback change. First question of the press conference
whether he thinks TUIs still give us the team the
best chance to win. McDaniel said, the quarterback play last
night was not good enough, and so for me, everything's
on the table.

Speaker 2 (26:33):
Tool was six of ten for sixty five.

Speaker 1 (26:35):
Yards, had a pick through the first three quarters of
Monday Night's loss. He threw a pair of touchdowns and
patted the stats once they were down twenty eight three,
but the overall performance was obviously disappointing in the loss
end of the Dolphins chance of.

Speaker 2 (26:48):
Making the postseason.

Speaker 1 (26:49):
McDaniel said that you will spend the coming hours trying
to determine who gives us the best chance to win
and expects to have a decision on Wednesday. Zach Wilson
and Quinn Yours are the other quarterback options in Miami.
Interested in seeing Zach Wilson or Quinn Ewers before the
season is over?

Speaker 4 (27:04):
Yeah, why not?

Speaker 3 (27:05):
I mean, if the decision, if you're having that conversation
with yourself about which guy you're gonna put in. You've
already somewhat decided, so you might as well go to
those other backup guys see what they have, because look,
who's to say that Mike mc dane would continue to
have his job, And if he does, he needs to
decide right now if Tua is his quarterback moving forward.

Speaker 5 (27:25):
You know, I was thinking about this and who would
you rather see, Zack Wilson or quinn Ewers. I mean,
we've seen the resurgence of quarterbacks once they get out
of New York high draft picks, but.

Speaker 2 (27:34):
Quinn Ewers seems like a fit for that.

Speaker 1 (27:36):
Mike McDaniel's offense does kind of seem like I kind
of would want to see him.

Speaker 2 (27:40):
I think the thing that bothers me is like, unfortunately
for the Dolphins.

Speaker 1 (27:45):
They can't do anything about it, Like Tua isn't the
quarterback there, but they owe the same amount of money
next year whether they cut him or not. So you know,
they own fifty something million dollars because they got themselves
in this stupid contract.

Speaker 2 (27:56):
And that's the thing.

Speaker 1 (27:56):
It's like, if you're not sure, don't give the guy
that money you're gonna get into these you know Kirk
Cousins to Shan Watson to a talk about law type
deals and wind up hosing yourself over what all said
and done. Six. The last story is not NFL, but
could be tangentially related, as Steve Kerr downplays a leaked
email from the Warrior's owner to a frustrated fan, saying

(28:20):
it's not a big deal. Steve Kerr not worried about
the email that Golden State Warriors fans sent, Angela Cope
sent back to a fan earlier this week. Warriors fans
sent La Cob an email after the team's lost to
the Trailblazers Sunday with a quick please, asking him to
quote please do something about the team.

Speaker 2 (28:38):
The fan is twenty seven year.

Speaker 1 (28:39):
Old Justin Duttari, who also asked rhetorically if Steph Curry
had to score fifty a night for them to win.
Among other things, he brought up the fact that he
thought the Warriors were playing Jimmy Butler out of position.
The email address Dutari found for Lacbe ended up being accurate,
and Lacobe replied within minutes saying, quote, you can't be
as frustrated as me.

Speaker 2 (28:58):
I'm working on it.

Speaker 1 (28:59):
It's complicated, isle of play, coaches, desires regarding players, league trends.
Jimmy Butler is not the problem and signed the email
simply Joe sending it from his iPhone. Kerr was asked
about the email Tuesday and said, it's not a big deal.
It's a relationship with Lookoff's fine thing. I hate it
when people post private emails. Imagine if everybody's emails are
just posted publicly, how tough that would be to live

(29:19):
our lives. Joe supports me one hundred percent.

Speaker 2 (29:21):
I support him.

Speaker 1 (29:22):
We have great connection and continuity, and our stable environment
and organizations one of our strengths. Kerr obviously not bothered
by the email he's publicly, but it's easy to understand
why Utari and other Warriors fans could be upset. They've
lost eight of twelve follow five hundred with Sunday's four
point loss in Portland. Curry dropped forty eight in that contest,
and they'll enter Thursday's game against the Phoenix Suns with

(29:43):
a thirteen and fourteen record. I think everybody's kind of frustrated.
First of all, how do we feel about a fan
seeking out an owner's email and emailing.

Speaker 2 (29:52):
Him, and second, how do we feel about that response?

Speaker 3 (29:55):
Well, first and foremost, I think that's pretty cool from
a fan perspective that you can get that type of
reply from someone that higher up in the organization and Steve.

Speaker 4 (30:05):
Kerr said, well, yeah, yeah, we're good. We're good.

Speaker 3 (30:07):
Doesn't really sound like it because he made the comment
about posting people's emails and text messages to let you
know that he's not truly okay with that.

Speaker 4 (30:17):
I mean, here's what's happening with Golden State Warrias.

Speaker 3 (30:19):
I mean, the final chapter has been written right in
front of our eyes, and it's hard for a team
and an organization and the fan base to understand that
when they want so much, this is the price of
doing business.

Speaker 5 (30:30):
I think one Steph Curry retires, there's going to be
a huge reset in Golden.

Speaker 2 (30:34):
State with a lot of people, including Steve.

Speaker 5 (30:37):
Kerr, unless they start playing Pat Spencer more. I don't
know if you've seen this guy's story, but he's a
he's a killer on the court.

Speaker 2 (30:44):
Former lacrosse stud Yelp now now playing in the NBA.
I think he's fun to watch. But they are that
good well, and they're kind of they're kind of old.

Speaker 1 (30:54):
I mean, part of this is, you know that you've
got to say old.

Speaker 4 (30:57):
They're they're mature, they're experience.

Speaker 1 (31:00):
Yes, you might not be the Golden State, might be
the Gray State Grabiards. When all said and done.

Speaker 2 (31:06):
They're they're I mean, they are.

Speaker 1 (31:07):
They're not a young football team football team, they're not
a young basketball team. They're there, you know, they're I mean,
but to be fair to them, they are third in
their division. It's not like they're at the bottom of
the barrel or anything like that. But yeah, I mean,
you've got some players there that are that they have
a few years on them. Jimmy Butler's thirty six years old,
Seth and Steph Curry are thirty five and thirty seven
years old, Raymond Green thirty five, Buddy Healed thirty two,

(31:29):
Al Wolford's thirty nine, Gary Payton's thirty three, and the
Pat Spencer who.

Speaker 2 (31:34):
You talked about is twenty nine. It's not like they've
got a lot of a ton of young talent there. Nless,
you know, you're really on Gui Santos. But it's not like, yeah, it's.

Speaker 1 (31:44):
Not like they have a whole lot of a ton
of young talent. You know on that team, and so
I think that's I think that's a big part of
the problem is she's just got a you just got
an older team that's just not you know, it's.

Speaker 2 (31:56):
They kept it. It's like the Chiefs, they kept the
band together a little too long.

Speaker 4 (31:59):
They just barely.

Speaker 3 (32:01):
Hanging on, like a marriage where you know someone's cheating
and you're staying together for the kids.

Speaker 4 (32:07):
That's what it seems like.

Speaker 2 (32:08):
They do graduate high school. Yeah, yeah, that's more years.
I mean, STEP's having argument one of his worst years.
He's only shooting forty one percent from downtown.

Speaker 1 (32:18):
You know, Jimmy Butler's on the court for forty one
minutes a night, averaging nineteen and only five rebounds. Yeah,
I just I mean, I don't know Draymond again, all
the numbers are down across the board for all these guys,
and it's just it's just an old team.

Speaker 3 (32:32):
But this happens to so many teams. Remember those Bulls teams. Yeah,
it happened to them. We put together one year too long.
Should about what happened when Mkawhi left Toronto and went
to the Clippers and they thought they were going to
win by the personnel they put together and then he
had to unfortunately realize that it's not going to happen.

Speaker 5 (32:51):
They've lost eight Clippers lost eighteen of their last twenty one.

Speaker 2 (32:55):
Yeah, it's that's brutal over there too. Did you catch
the Nuggets game last night?

Speaker 4 (32:59):
I did not.

Speaker 2 (33:00):
Oh my god, what an overtime win.

Speaker 5 (33:02):
Yeah, A thirty nine fifteen and ten from Joker and
thirty five from Jamal Bury.

Speaker 2 (33:06):
Didn't both the centers fall out?

Speaker 5 (33:08):
Yes, Joker in overtime, Yeah, and it looked like they
were gonna lose it in overtime.

Speaker 2 (33:14):
But Jamal Murray O a way clutch many a man five.

Speaker 1 (33:18):
Six, six times. You know the text line the three
or three? Are the Raiders soft tanking? No, there's nothing
soft about what they're doing. They're wing that's hard water
through water, Yes they are. They are not even hiding it.
I would not be surprised if they buy Pete Carroll's
contract out just a f way either. Guys listen to
Broncos Country to Night fifty ninety four fl can't wait
