Speaker 1 (00:02):
This is Charleston's Morning News with Kelly and Blaze.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
Officials say there's no evidence at this time that a
fire at a South Carolina judge's home was arson. The
fire broke out Saturday morning at the Edistoe Island house
of Circuit Court Judge Diane Goodstein and her husband Arnie.
At least three people were injured. The South Carolina Law
Enforcement Division says the investigation into the fire continues. There

(00:27):
are reports the judge had received threats after temporarily blocking
South Carolina from releasing the state's voter database to the
Justice Department. That was later overturned by the Supreme Court man.

Speaker 3 (00:39):
This is to the left's dismay that investigators have found
there is no evidence of arson at this judge's beach
house because this set off and this is absolutely no
pun intended. A firestorm yesterday from the left saying, oh
my god, this is an enraged maga person who burned
this lady's house down. I mean, the whole thing was crazy.

(01:02):
The governor had to come out and make a statement
and say arson is not expected. You know, investigators are
saying there's no evidence of arson here.

Speaker 2 (01:11):
There's no evidence at this time of arson. They accused
the president of doxing judges and causing his mega supporters
to come out and blow up this judge's house. And
everybody jumps in and tries to take some kind of
political advantage over this, including Nancy Mace. Everybody that'll be

(01:33):
you know, prosecuted to the full extent of the law. So,
I mean, it's just disgusting to watch this in action.

Speaker 3 (01:40):
It truly is. This is you know this the right
doesn't dock and set fire and be violent. This is
not even anyway they're they're pushing pretty hard on the left.
It's gross. And didn't I didn't catch Nancy Mace's response
to this, yeah, running for all.

Speaker 2 (02:01):
Right, Well there you go. So there's hyperbole on both sides.

Speaker 3 (02:06):
Well, but when it comes to political violence, Democrats are
a party of rage. I'm I mean, they can attempt
to prove otherwise, but we have plenty of examples, and
I'm sorry for this. You know, there's more and more
video coming out of that home just being completely burned

(02:27):
to the ground and destroyed, and oh my gosh, I'm
just glad nobody was killed.

Speaker 2 (02:32):
The City of Portland says federal agents are using excessive
force against demonstrators downside of the Ice building located there.
Over the weekend, agents were seen pushing down veterans and
elderly demonstrators. Portland's city attorney sent a letter to the
US Department of Justice contending the federal government is failing
its solemn duty to uphold the rights of all people,

(02:53):
even though the administration disagrees with Federal agents gave social
media influencers access to the roof of the Ice Building
to broadcast events, apparently showing favoritism to people the administration supports. Meanwhile,
a federal judge in Portland has issued a temporary injunction
blocking all National Guard troops from being used to protect

(03:13):
federal buildings in Portland. It's the same judge who ruled
Saturday that Oregon National troops couldn't be used in Portland.
That's when President Trump ordered California Guard troops to deploy
to Portland.

Speaker 3 (03:26):
I haven't seen the videos we're talking about here or
pushing down veterans or elderly demonstrators, have you. I mean,
the videos I've seen have been pretty dicey when it
comes to impeding operations here with ice.

Speaker 2 (03:39):
Well again, I mean it's kind of muddying the water.
And I'd say that's biased reporting. You know, maybe there
were elderly and veterans among the people that were being
pushed down by ICE, but these people are blocking the
entrances to the building. ICE is having to deploy pepper
spray and literally physically push these people back because they're

(04:02):
trying to stop vehicles from entering and exiting the building.
They're causing mayhem and unrest, and bad things happen when
you want to get up in the face of a
shielded law enforcement agent, if.

Speaker 3 (04:18):
You're posing a threat to ICE operations, you should expect
a response. And I agree with Chicago's PD yesterday, the
chief saying attacking impeding any law enforcement operations is a
terrible idea. I mean, basically, it's play stupid games, win
stupid prizes.

Speaker 2 (04:37):
Yeah. Well, I mean if they want to get out
there and cause just this unrest, then this is not
peaceful protesting. Peaceful protesting is standing there on the side
of the road, maybe chanting something and holding up a sign. Right,
It's not getting in front of vehicles. It's not getting
in the faces of these ICE agents. And just look

(04:58):
at the behavior that's display not only in Portland but
around the country in these cities where they've deployed the
National Guard, and not even the National Guard, just ICE
for that matter. And so this is all on purpose,
and these are useful fools, used by the people that

(05:19):
want to destroy this country and they're out there. This
is not peaceful protesting, This is not a matter of opinion.
These people are getting in the way of law enforcement.
And you tell me what happens to you when you
do that exactly.

Speaker 3 (05:36):
Look at some of the videos that are coming out,
I mean of Chicago with ICE being surrounded with the
police department. You've got nine one one audio now going
viral of the police department not even coming to the
aid of ICE agents who are being surrounded. The whole
thing is so disturbing.

Speaker 2 (05:53):
Well, and then they're lying about it too, and they're
saying that that never happened. But there's the whole conversation
recorded on where it shows exactly that they told the
police to stop responding to these ICE agents that were
surrounded and in trouble and in order to not elevate

(06:14):
this further. You know, ICE and the National Guard rely
on local officers to keep law and order and then
they can say, look, it's up to the local officers.
We're here executing our job, and the local police department
is who's going to keep everything safe. And then when
you have the local police department given orders to not

(06:36):
protect these federal agents, you know, and then they go
out and lie about it, it shows you exactly what's
going on here in the nefarious actions of these people.

Speaker 3 (06:48):
So, like I said yesterday, what did you expect the
commander in chief to do to protect his force when
it comes to ICE and when people are pushing back
on this whole National Guard stuff. Well, here's an example,
right that they can't even count on the Chicago PD
to help and pick your you know, Portland wherever else.
I mean, we you know they are facing I just

(07:11):
I pray for them quite literally multiple times a day.
What ICE is doing is I mean, especially with the
recent Chicago apartment raid trende Aragua was you know the
rot this apartment building is rot with the TDA, known
terrorist gang here in America, and you know they're getting
pushback on it quite literally. Didn't the mayor? Was it? Yesterday?

(07:33):
The mayor of Chicago came out and said there's going
to be ice free zones.

Speaker 2 (07:37):
Yeah, these people are nuts. And you know, the governor
Pritzker there on the attack. He's all over social media,
he's all over electronic media, you know, denouncing this administration
for making Chicago a war zone like it wasn't beforehand. No,
it's all the president's fault. There would be no violence

(07:59):
in Chicago, and there wouldn't be a criminal problem or
a gang problem in Chicago if it weren't for the
President exaggerating these things. According to JB.

Speaker 3 (08:08):
Pritzker, he's disgusting.

Speaker 2 (08:11):
And then Brandon Johnson, the mayor of Chicago, and all
of these people, Karen Bass in Los Angeles, you know,
the governor of Oregon, all these leftists who are on
the wrong side of the issues. And again, these eighty
twenty issues, the Democrats will always choose the twenty side
while the rest of the country is on the eighty

(08:32):
percent side. Speaking of which, Quem Jefferies has challenged Mike
Johnson to a primetime debate.

Speaker 3 (08:39):
And yes this is a true story.

Speaker 2 (08:41):
House Speaker Mike Johnson is dismissing a request from minority
leader Quem Jefferies for a debate about the government shutdown.
Jefferies requested a prime time, nationally televised debate with Johnson,
and as the government shutdown approaches a full week, the
House Minority leader issued a letter where he explained that
given the urgency of the moment and Republicans refusaled and

(09:02):
negotiated bipartisan agreement, a debate on the House floor will
provide the American people with the transparency they deserve. That's
according to Hukum Jeffries. Johnson asserts that the House has
done his job and refer to the idea as theatrics.

Speaker 3 (09:18):
He is is all theatrics. Boy, this guy dollar store Obama,
isn't that what they call him that, you know, intimating
he's a cheap knockoff of the former president.

Speaker 2 (09:28):
Well, it's totally ridiculous, because Hakim Jeffries ought to know.
He's a member of the House. They already debated this
on the floor of the House and they passed a bill.
The Senate is what's holding it up. So the debate
is not even in the House of Representatives. They already
debated it. They already you know, had a quorum and

(09:50):
passed the bill. So what the hell is Hakim Jeffries
even talking about?

Speaker 3 (09:54):
Maybe it is some breros too tight, It is talking
to day Maybe go get the blood too many Margarita's
prime time debate, although.

Speaker 2 (10:05):
That might fix his lack of personality. But anyway, he is, Ugh.

Speaker 3 (10:10):
It's the self aggrandizing with this guy. I can't it's
just nauseating.

Speaker 2 (10:16):
Well, the Democrats don't know what to do, and they're
looking ridiculous in the meantime because they're the ones that
started all this, and then they're latching on too stupid
things like they're going to debate a debate on the
House floor that's already taken place and they already passed
a bill. Now he wants to challenge Mike Johnson to
that they don't know what to do. They're out of

(10:39):
ammunition to go against this president and against the Republicans
with so in the meantime they're just looking stupid and ridiculous,
and some of the people still support them.

Speaker 3 (10:51):
Of course, Well, I would argue they didn't really have
any amo in the beginning to begin with. And you
know what, I kind of want speak or Mike Johnson
to debate him and absolutely bury him with facts, because
you know he would.

Speaker 2 (11:07):
I mean, that's a distraction. They've already done their job,
Like Mike Johnson said, the House has done its job.
They already debated it, they voted on it and passed
it and onto the Senate it goes where it's stalled. Now.

Speaker 3 (11:20):
I just want him to in prime time let the
facts be facts, and maybe he should do it in
a sombrero.

Speaker 2 (11:26):
You're talking about Hakeem Jefferies. Well, and this and this
is the meme that went around.

Speaker 3 (11:33):
You know, they keep going, right, so I think his
name might change. I'm not sure, you know, post sombrero memes,
what dollar store Obama at, what new nickname he may have.

Speaker 2 (11:45):
Well, there may be some people that missed all of that.
So you know, President Trump shared a meme where multiple
memes where Hakeem Jefferies was dressed in a sombrero and
they were playing mariachi music. And this is to all
make fun of the fact that in shine light on
the fact that the Democrats are supporting medical care funding

(12:11):
for illegal immigrants. And then it's taken off from there
and it got under the Democrats and Juquem Jeffrey's skin.
So now it just gets worse and worse and worse
for them as more and more and more of these
sombrero memes make rounds.

Speaker 3 (12:28):
They're fabulous.

Speaker 2 (12:30):
President Trump is not ruling out using the Insurrection Act
to crack down on crime and cities run by Democrats.
Speaking at the White House on Monday, Trump said he'd
invoke the nineteenth century law if it was necessary. He said,
so far it hasn't been, but it might be. He
added he might do so if courts and local or
state officials continue blocking his efforts to send in the

(12:51):
National Guard. The Insurrection Act of eighteen oh seven allows
the president to deploy the military to suppress armed rebellion
or civilian rights. It was last yused during the nineteen
ninety two Los Angeles riots.

Speaker 3 (13:05):
Oh my goodness, the derangement the TDS, it's on full
display with this one. I mean, the reaction to this
with the left leaning press. It's like, see, he's an
authoritarian and this is an authoritarian's dream. It's concerning, and
they don't seem to understand that, you know, calling Trump
a dictator, an authoritarian and all these other things is

(13:27):
leading to very violent and concerning situations for ICE members
who are doing what their job to. They've said it
from the beginning. We are removing criminals and gang members
and violent people that do not belong in our country.

Speaker 2 (13:47):
Well, and it's not only ice members. It's out of
control crime in these cities that nobody's done anything about
for decades. And I was arguing yesterday, hey, Democrats, looks
like you're a racist because you're all right when the
crime just happens in the ghetto, or it just happens
to black people, and you're all right with black on
black crime, and you're all right if it happens over here,

(14:09):
and you don't do any damn thing about it for
decades while you're pretending that you're on the side of
these people. And now somebody comes along and wants to
do something about it. And look at the hissy fit
they throw.

Speaker 3 (14:21):
These pretending politicians from behind, you know, their gates and
their walls. It's it's really sickening and maddening, frankly. And
look at the popularity of what was mayor Brandon? Is
it Johnson?

Speaker 2 (14:36):
Brandon Johnson in Chicago, Yes.

Speaker 3 (14:38):
Look at his population. It's the it's in the tubes.
It's all the way down. I think thirty two percent
or less people in Chicago don't like their mayor. And
here he is at a podium yesterday, say, you know,
declaring ice free zones. I mean, the guy is horrific
in Pritzker, Holy moly. I mean I can only you know,

(15:00):
people have gotten enraged enough with these clowns that they'll
vote them out of office, get them out of town.

Speaker 2 (15:08):
But I don't think that's going to happen. You keep
saying that, But look, New York's about to elect a socialist,
a Democrat socialist mayor. Well we can't Muslim socialists. Is
there a mayor?

Speaker 3 (15:24):
But we can't ignore the overwhelming win back in November
because independence lean trump. So I mean, so what? And
and Democrats who feel lost because their party has gone
so far to the left off the socialist cliff that
they don't know where to go, so they're voting red.
And yeah, I think that we're going to continue. I

(15:46):
mean that's some kind of change.

Speaker 2 (15:48):
We wish that was the case, but it doesn't. Where
have they voted red. Where have the Democrats come out
and said, you know, we feel we were wrong and
we've been done wrong by this Democratic leadership, and we're
going to switch parties now and we're going to vote red.

Speaker 3 (16:05):
I think there are plenty of people. I'm talking about
voters right now walking away from the Democrat Party because
they've become so unhinged. And you know, when it comes
to lawmakers, I think you're seeing more and more people
across the country who are because look at quite literally,
the shutdown is an example of how extreme the left
has gotten, the insanity of this.

Speaker 2 (16:27):
But so you think that's going to result in Chicago
electing a Republican mayor.

Speaker 3 (16:31):
Well, who knows, Let's let's hope and pray for them.

Speaker 2 (16:34):
Or Illinois a Republican governor.

Speaker 3 (16:37):
Well, I'm hoping for the best there. They need help,
and look at what they're doing.

Speaker 2 (16:42):
What's happening in New York own citizens otherwise is what
I'm saying.

Speaker 3 (16:47):
What's that I didn't hear you.

Speaker 2 (16:48):
I said, what's happening in New York would indicate otherwise
I would argue.

Speaker 3 (16:52):
Well, I mean New York is an example of very
concerning times in our country. I don't. I mean, I
this is a hole to me other conversation. Really, I
mean the violence in Chicago, the unrest that's happening in

(17:14):
Portland is one thing. The Marxism and communism that's being
embraced in New York and so rapidly, and maybe it's
not been so rapidly, and I'm not there, and you know,
I don't know, but it's of course ground zero for
AOC and her crew. And look at what she's doing
to wreak HAVOC and DC. So I oh, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (17:38):
Well that is not two separate things. The idea, yes,
Marxism all the way around.

Speaker 3 (17:42):
Well, the idea of her running for president continues to
be floated out here and taking Chuck Schumer's job and
the whole thing. I mean, man, if the Democrat Party
didn't wake up, I don't know what. I don't know.
Maybe we'll see more. Mom Donnie's all over the place.
And I fear.

Speaker 2 (18:00):
That Cracker Barrel is cutting ties with the consulting firm
behind its disastrous rebrand. The company announced its ending as
partnership with Profit, the group hired last March to design
a brand marketing campaign for them. The new logo drew
a swift rebuke from Cracker Barrel customers when it dropped
its iconic picture of an elderly man uncle Herschel leaning

(18:23):
on a barrel. Customers also called the new in store
decorps Sollas. Cracker Barrel quickly reversed course and returned the
original logo and in store old fashioned feel.

Speaker 3 (18:35):
Oh, don't mess with Uncle Herschel.

Speaker 2 (18:39):
It's kind of a weird story, I think. Yeah, it
was a misstep. It was not the same thing as
bud Light. Everybody's like, oh, Cracker Burrough went woke because
they went back to their original logo. By the way,
and by the way, Cracker Brow was in trouble, and
if you compare the numbers to other restaurants, Cracker Barrel

(19:01):
was not healthy. So they needed to do something to
wake up their brand. And then they had this misstep,
and then it was being compared to Dylan mulvany and
bud Light and all of these things.

Speaker 3 (19:14):
The in store decor being soulless. I remember you agreeing
with that because they kind of whitewashed the walls and
all that.

Speaker 2 (19:21):
Stuff made it looked like a cafeteria.

Speaker 3 (19:24):
I mean, heck, even Starbucks has dark walls, you know,
those wood darker walls that I'm talking about Cracker Barrel now,
but they needed to do something, sure, but this was
a misstep. You know, I'm surprised it took this long
to get rid of the company, the partnership at least

(19:44):
with profit.

Speaker 2 (19:45):
Well, they blew it. But it also shows you the
kind of environment that we're in now where people automatically
assume this was kind of some kind of bud Light
like deal where you know bud Light, the the PR
person for that team, the advertising whatever her title was,
you know, famously said oh, well, we have a frat

(20:08):
boy image. We're going to change that. So they hire
a tranny. Think about how ridiculous that one like who
in the right mind is like, here's what we should do.
And then I think that this profit company, although I
wouldn't say, you know, obviously it didn't work their rebrand,

(20:28):
but it was nowhere near the misstep that putting Dylan
mulvaney as spokesperson for bud Light was. But everybody kind
of lumped it all together and at the end of
the day and they thought that, you know, that they
were messing with the logo and they got rid of
Uncle Herschel. Oh no, they went back to their original logo.

(20:50):
It just goes to show I'm saying it's the right move.
I'm just saying it's like, you can't compare the.

Speaker 3 (20:56):
Two well, but people are tired of being canceled. I mean,
think about all of the rebranding that goes back to
Rice and Butter and yirr up. I mean, you know,
there's a history here where people are like, okay, really
let it go. Let you know, because he was an
old white guy. I mean, I understand what you're saying.

Speaker 2 (21:16):
Well, let it go was letting the company fail. So
maybe all of this attention will have provided some free
advertising and maybe they can claw back from that. But
the company was not healthy and so they needed to
do something, and I think they didn't anticipate I know,
they didn't anticipate it blowing up in their face like this,

(21:39):
so that now they need somebody else to come along
and kind of rebrand it. And I guess what they
should do is maybe look to their past. Not their
past logo that wasn't very successful, but look at all
of these brands now, including bud Light, who kind of
went back to their old style of average tithing and

(22:00):
kind of you know Heartland Americana theme. Chevy's doing it,
you know, showing their old trucks up through the years
and what it's like, you know, to you know, the
heartbeat of the USA and all of these things. So
I would anticipate that's the direction that Cracker Burrol is

(22:21):
going to go in with their next.

Speaker 3 (22:23):
Time to put the shotguns back up over the fireplace.

Speaker 2 (22:26):
With their next marketing campaign.
