Speaker 1 (00:02):
Your news, traffic, weather and information station. This is Charleston's
Morning News on ninety four to three wsc NOW.

Speaker 2 (00:12):
Back to Kelly and Blaze.

Speaker 3 (00:14):
President Trump wants financial compensation from the Justice Department for
criminally investigating him. Trump says he's owed damages for two investigations,
the alleged Russian interference in the twenty sixteen presidential election
and the FBI search of his mar A Largo home
related to the handling of classifying documents. The New York

(00:34):
Times says Trump is seeking two hundred and thirty million
dollars as compensation. Trump would not confirm that number to reporters,
but said whatever money he gets, he'll give to charity.
Trump did note that it's an odd situation where people
within his own administration would be approving the possible payout.

Speaker 4 (00:52):
Oh my god, the response the Kings raiding the Treasury,
bar cludging over this is, first of all, the odd situation.
He filed this back what two twenty the twenty twenty three,
twenty twenty four time, when.

Speaker 2 (01:10):
He was not president exactly.

Speaker 3 (01:12):
But the odd situation is is that some of the
people that were on his legal team at the time
that he filed this and throughout these incidents are now
serving in his administration and would approve the payout. So,
in other words, the lawyers that were defending him and
arguing for him during them the time frames described here

(01:35):
are the ones that would also approve the payout now
that they're in the administration.

Speaker 4 (01:40):
Right, So it would be the current Justice Department Deputy
Attorney General. It's a Todd Blanche and he served as
Trump's defense attorney in the twenty four you know NYC
criminal trial. That was the whole Latitia James thing with
Trump being found guilty of fraud in that case. So
with the dubious you know, mortgage fraud charged, that whole

(02:02):
Latitia James. We all know who she is. But anyway,
so we'll see how it plays out. But the idea
that the king is raiding the treasury, you know, he's
giving the money to charity. He's signaling that this is
about principle and not prosperity, common sense, rule of law,
not compensation. Although I didn't notice if that two hundred

(02:23):
thirty million dollar price tag sticks that it almost covers
the ballroom renovation. Talk about pearl clutching.

Speaker 3 (02:33):
Well right now, the singer because he's destroying the White House.

Speaker 4 (02:38):
Oh my god, like every president before him who made
renovations to the White House that by the way to
the tune of our tax paying dollars, and here he
is doing it with private funds.

Speaker 3 (02:48):
They're destroying Jackie Kennedy's rose dartedn't.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
Did you hear the story he told about the swimming pool?

Speaker 5 (02:57):
Oh? No, do tell oh he's liking right over there
was the swimming pool, and there was reports at the
time that Jackie Kennedy said, I heard some women?

Speaker 2 (03:08):
Are there?

Speaker 3 (03:09):
Women over there? Do I hear women around the pool?
And the Secret Services like no, man, just move along,
you don't And she's like, I think I hear women.
This is the president saying this from the podium, explaining
how Jackie Kennedy was on to JFK and the chicks
he had around the swimming pool. So anyway, I mean,
it was kind of well stunning because it was irregular

(03:31):
to hear a president just talking like the rest of
us like, ah, do you hear about this story?

Speaker 2 (03:36):
But anyway, I.

Speaker 4 (03:37):
Just we have to mock this fake outrage. I mean,
this is from a crowd who tears down statues in history,
like get in of here with this.

Speaker 3 (03:46):
Yeah, in the president I thought this was so he
when he was asked about this, he went on and said, yeah,
it's going to go to charity, or maybe it's going
to go to some renovation projects around the White House.
And then he went on to say that the reason
I'm doing this is because we can't let this happen again.
What happened in twenty twenty, what happened through the whole

(04:07):
you know, through the Steele dossier, through the Russia collusion,
and then what happened in twenty twenty, we can't ever
let that happen again.

Speaker 2 (04:16):
And they cut away from him.

Speaker 4 (04:17):
Of course they did, And it's a shrewd move because
what he knows, he isn't going to get the proper
coverage of this. So he's documenting the weaponization of our
federal agencies against one a private citizen and then a
former US president. So good for him. It shows also
that you know, he's adamant enough that he did nothing
wrong that he's willing to testify and accord to them.

Speaker 3 (04:39):
The White House now says there are no immediate plans
for a meeting between President Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Trump told reporters last week that he would meet with
Putin and Hungary in the coming weeks to discuss the
war between Russia and Ukraine. The White House also said
the Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Russian Foreign Minister
Sergei Lavrov held a call yesterday. The two were expected

(05:02):
to also meet in person, but the White House said
the additional meeting is not necessary. Trump has been pushing
for an end to the Russia Ukraine war.

Speaker 4 (05:12):
It's well documented. He's more than fed up with Vladimir's
and tics. And you know, Trump's not a time waster.
And boy, the media, the propaganda press, the overly bureaucratic
DC crew, they still don't know how to handle a
guy who's moving at breakneck speed Trump two point zero
in this presidency.

Speaker 2 (05:32):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (05:32):
Well, he said that this meeting with Vladimir Putin would
not be productive, and that, as you said, he doesn't
like wasting time. And he's like, I'm not going to
have senseless meetings where we don't accomplish anything, So forget it.
Until something's on the table that we can discuss and
move the needle, then I'm not interested in meeting.

Speaker 4 (05:51):
Well, and it gives him an opportunity to also not
be pushed with regards to the missiles, the Tamaha missiles
that of course Ukraine wants, which really many are saying
will change the face of this conflict. It's war between
Ukraine and Russia. So why give them the opportunity to

(06:15):
you know, press for some type of ants or leaning
towards or against because that's some type of you know,
muscle in the negotiations process here.

Speaker 3 (06:26):
Well, I'm sure that's what Marco, Rubio and Lavrov are discussing.

Speaker 4 (06:31):
Well, so let it play out. We'll see where this goes.
I mean, you want to talk about wasting time, you know,
what has changed for the better since you know, all
the big welcoming in Alaska, And I mean I still
think it was well worth it just to see Vladimir
Putin's face as the huge B two bombers flew over him.

(06:55):
Oh my god, you rolled out the red carpet, we're Vladimir. Yeah,
we also rolled out the B two bombers over his
head to let him know, don't mess with the best.
But nothing much has come of that other than sadly
more during attacks and death quite literally in the last
twenty four or forty eight hours at the hands of
Russia and their antics.

Speaker 3 (07:16):
Well, I think there's all kinds of propaganda floating around.
So if you believe Russia's side, they're on the verge
of you know, a major attack and ending the having
a huge strike and ending this thing once and forever
and destroying Ukraine. And then if you listen to the
propaganda on the other side, Oh, we're going to give

(07:37):
Tomahawk missiles to Zelenski and Ukraine and that's going to
change the tide of the war. And I mean, I
don't necessarily believe any of it.

Speaker 4 (07:48):
Well, the longer well, I understand being cautiously maybe not
so optimistic in this instance, but the longer that this
drags on, at least maybe in Trump's terms, you could
see economic collapse on the side of Russia. They're close
to it, and I think this is maybe why he's
you know, putting a hand up to more talks. The

(08:11):
longer it drags on, the harder it is for Vladimir
Putin and Russia to pull out of this economic spiral
they're in.

Speaker 3 (08:19):
Well, I'm wondering what's being demanded of Ukraine from the
United States and you know, I don't know if you've
seen the reporting on how much money went to US officials,
Hunter Biden, the Biden family, senators, politicians here in the
United States from Ukraine, and it hasn't been proven, So

(08:43):
you know, I don't know, but I do know that
it's a corrupt country. And I do know that Biden
had his hands all over the puppet strings in that
corrupt country, and I know that his sun did also.
And to think that all of a sudden it's an
honest country just fighting for democracy is a stretch. So

(09:06):
I was never totally hip on, and that's why I
couldn't support Ukraine fully in the first place. Not that
I support Russia, but I have to wonder what is
being asked of Ukraine in order to get continue to
get aid from the United States.

Speaker 4 (09:25):
Well, some oversight would be nice. We put hundreds of
billions of dollars in their hand without oversight, and that
would be a start.

Speaker 3 (09:33):
There's also Nazis and neo Nazis in Ukraine, and you
don't hear about those stories anymore. They're all concerned with,
you know, calling the president a Nazi and conservatives Nazis.
But where real Nazism lives they're not concerned, and that's
in Ukraine, you know, and a lot of the Nazis
escaped to Ukraine after World War Two, and so that

(09:56):
legacy lives on in Ukraine. The Dunbass region. You know,
they're more loyal to Russia, and the Ukrainians were going
in there and killing them, and they even you know,
they don't even have one unified language. Some speak Russian,
some speak Ukrainian. And in the done Bass they pleaded

(10:21):
with Vladimir Putin for help because they were under attack
by their own countrymen. So you know, it's more involved
than just some little countries standing up for itself and
standing up for democracy. It used to be a part
of the USSR. There's different zones that are they have

(10:42):
different loyalties. It's corrupt. There's all kinds of problems there
in the Ukraine.

Speaker 4 (10:49):
All kinds of graph grifting and graphic So Nazis and Ukraine.
Nothing to see here, blaze that doesn't fit the left narrative.

Speaker 3 (10:58):
No, it's kind of stunning to me how all of
a sudden they forgot about all of that. Catholic organizations
across the country are holding prayer vigils today at ICE
detention centers is part of the One Church, One Family campaign.
It comes as the Trump administration has set a goal
of removing at least a million illegal immigrants per year.

(11:19):
Second Coast to coast prayer event is scheduled for November thirteenth.

Speaker 4 (11:23):
So what do you think they'll be praying for? Praying?
Are we politically weaponizing prayer here?

Speaker 3 (11:31):
They're showing their support for these illegal immigrants, is what
they're doing. One Church, One Family.

Speaker 4 (11:39):
How about we pray for the safety of these ICE
officers while we're at it, and pray there for their
docksed families who are getting death threats. And let's pray
for peaceful apprehensions, not the retaliatory attacks that ICE continues
to face. And oh also, let's pray for the safe
transition of these deporties.

Speaker 3 (11:59):
Well, and while we're at it, let's pray for all
of the poor abused little boys who were sexually assaulted
by priests and then swept under the rug over decades
and decades and decades. Let's pray for them.

Speaker 4 (12:11):
Yeah, I mean, let's pray, I mean shoot, more prayers
the better. Let the praying continue.

Speaker 3 (12:19):
Exactly where you can pray about everything. And you know,
and I'm sorry about being flippant if you're a Catholic,
but I'm a Catholic by the way, confirmed Catholic. But
they just rubbed me the wrong way more and more
and more and more and more. And what did it
for me was I mean, that was it?

Speaker 2 (12:38):
The uh?

Speaker 3 (12:39):
With the sexual abuse of all these kids, and they
didn't do anything about it, and they knew about it,
and they discovered priests and sometimes even people higher in
the hierarchy abusing children, little boys specifically, and then they
just move them to another congregation and they let this
go on.

Speaker 4 (12:59):
For decades, even another country.

Speaker 2 (13:02):
And talk about a scandal.

Speaker 4 (13:04):
It's so sick and disturbing. I did a deep dive
years and years ago on the survivor's network of these
pres you know, these press abuse victims and the generational
trauma that they passed down literally to their own children.
Some of them even abuse their own children, and then
their children were getting put It was when I worked

(13:24):
in Florida their children then were getting put on sex
offender registries as children. That the pervasive sickness that this
is created is just it It's beyond unerving, right.

Speaker 3 (13:39):
And those in glasshouses shall not throw rocks, right, So,
so Catholic Church stay the hell out of politics. Forgive
the pun, but you know they need to answer to
that before they start. And this reminds me of when
I was on the kick about the Pope. Same thing
with you know, the things the Pope was saying about

(14:00):
illegal immigration. I couldn't help myself at the time saying
I don't want to be pontificated to about illegal immigration
by the Catholic Church. But so, I mean, stay out
of it. And if you want to say prayers for everybody,
that's fine, but holding these vigils at ice detention centers

(14:23):
is going too far, I think. So clean up your
own house before you go out there and criticize others.

Speaker 4 (14:29):
Yeah, just disingenuous how it comes across.

Speaker 3 (14:32):
Maybe he was just looking for a little extra honey.
California Zoos reminding visitors to observe wildlife from a distance
and stay on mark trails after a wild black bear
made an unexpected visit to Eureka's Sequoia Park Zoo. The
bear was spotted Tuesday morning interacting through habitat fencing with
the zoo's three black bears, before the park opened. The

(14:56):
Eureka Police Department and the California Department of Fish and Wildlife.
We're contacted and gently coaxed the bear back into the
woods through a service gate. According to a statement from
the zoo, the wild bear did not display any aggression
and appeared to be a very polite visitor. It's not
very often you hear of wildlife breaking into a zoo.

Speaker 4 (15:17):
Maybe he was trying to help break his buddies out.

Speaker 3 (15:21):
Well, they said he was a very polite visitor, so
he was just interacting with them. You would think he
would be a little more aggressive if he was trying
to break them out. Maybe he was looking for a
free pad to crash at.

Speaker 4 (15:36):
You gotta think about how sad it is for the
bears that are there. It's like, oh, man, he gets
to come and go and we're stuck here.

Speaker 2 (15:42):
Yeah, how come you're letting him go?

Speaker 5 (15:44):
Man?

Speaker 2 (15:46):
What about us? How come he gets to go back
in the woods? We got to stay here.

Speaker 4 (15:51):
I'm just is there a video of this? I want
to go look at this, because if I'm the bears
stuck inside, I would want to be following this bear
out when the parks close or the zoo, how to
get in, Let's get them out, let's follow them out.

Speaker 3 (16:10):
Well, they become conditioned to just stay where they are.
They're being fed in all of these things, so I
doubt they're wanting to bust out of there. It's kind
of like the crazy roadside attractions that were around, you know,
back in the days of Route sixty six and whatnot,
or even up in the mountains where you know, there'd

(16:30):
be roadside attractions with some half balding bear in a
cage that you fed cokes too and whatever. And of course,
I mean these bears are being treated better treated than that,
but they get complacent.

Speaker 4 (16:47):
Oh yeah, they're flat porn. They're fat and happy, and
this one probably wanted some of their snacks.

Speaker 3 (16:53):
Yeah, Like I said, he was looking for a way in,
you know, free crash pad, three squares, and a cow.

Speaker 4 (17:00):
I mean one of those three might have been his girlfriend.

Speaker 3 (17:02):
Well, maybe he was looking for a little something something,
and so I would say it, man, he was looking
for a little extra honey.
