Speaker 1 (00:00):
Yeah, check out our website ninety four three doublusc dot com.
Now back to Charleston's Morning News with Kelly and Plays.
Speaker 2 (00:12):
We made it Friday. Welcome in.
Speaker 3 (00:15):
We'recovering this morning's top stories. President Trump is not giving
any details as to possible deals he may have in
mind when he meets with Russian President Vladimir Putin in
Alaska today. Reports have been rampant regarding Russia Ukraine landswaps
and the possibility of the United States offering Russia a
rare earth mineral deal if it leads to peace. When
(00:35):
I asked yesterday at the White House, Trump would only say,
we'll see what happens.
Speaker 2 (00:40):
Yeah, this has been interesting. So he was on Fox's
Brian Killmead and he made it pretty clear. You know,
vlad knows that I'm tough on him, and you know,
not to expect much. Listener, Putin knows I'm the toughest
one that he's ever had to deal with, He's ever
had to deal with any anybody like. And there's the
(01:00):
other thing.
Speaker 3 (01:01):
But they got nothing out of Trump.
Speaker 2 (01:03):
They got no land, they didn't do the Bush, they
didn't do an Obama, and they didn't do it Biden.
So it's probably important to point out that this is
just one. You know, we've been talking about the fact
they're kind of walking back what may come of this meeting,
meaning probably not a ceasefire, but there's going to be
a buy and try lateral meetings following this. So next
(01:27):
is Zelenski and then maybe the three of them all together.
Speaker 3 (01:31):
Yeah. Well, I mean, you know, at first they were
dampening expectations, and then kind of they ramped it up
a little bit and said, well, at least he did
that this could be a great first meeting, and if
it goes well, then we'll have a second meeting very
quickly between Putin and Zelenski, and if not, then Putin's
going to have a price to.
Speaker 2 (01:51):
Pay literally economically. This is a big deal. Is the
reason likely why he called the meeting in the first place.
That's important to point out that Putin called this meeting, and.
Speaker 3 (02:04):
He said again the President from the White House yesterday
reiterated that this is not his war, faulting President Biden
for letting it get that far to begin with, and
added he wants to see the war end.
Speaker 2 (02:17):
So infuriating minor incursion these words, I'll never forget from
the previous administration.
Speaker 3 (02:25):
Well, that's what Biden said. When they were when Russia
was lining up on Ukraine's border, they asked him about
a you know, an invasion, and he said, now, they're
not going to invade, and even if they do, it's
going to be a minor incursion.
Speaker 2 (02:38):
Well, you got Scott Betsen out here saying, you know,
they're going to basically be in a world of hurt
financially if there isn't something of substance. I suppose that
comes from this meeting today.
Speaker 3 (02:50):
Well, they're going to do what they can, but they're
going to have to go after Russia's trading partner partners
because they can't. We don't do a whole lot of
trade with Russia. There's not much we can do directly
to Russia except go after who they do business with
and their sources of income.
Speaker 2 (03:10):
Isn't it. While we were talking yesterday about how Alaska
was actually purchased from Russia, and I don't know if
it was handity. I think on your ride home three
to six year on ninety four to three WUSA, I
was listening and he pointed out the reason you know,
Russia sold Alaska and how much was it per acre?
It was something insane.
Speaker 3 (03:30):
It was a total of like seven million dollars a
little over seven million.
Speaker 2 (03:34):
Yeah, quite a deal. And it was because why Russia
was at war and they needed money and why were
they at war? Same thing all these years later. Let's
hope our our president, you know, our peace president can
get somewhere with us today.
Speaker 3 (03:49):
Well, remember he said he was going to end the
war on his first day in office, or possibly before
he even got to office, and that hasn't happened. So
his credibility to do a certain extent at least on
this issues on the line.
Speaker 2 (04:02):
Oh my goodness. Seven he's brought peace. I mean he's
been a little busy, but he's bar peace to what
seven we're now looking at seven. He's a conflicts here.
He's got Nobel Peace Prize on the horizon. Finally, I've
been talking about that for years since his first administration,
but I mean, talk about a commander in peace. He's absolutely,
(04:23):
I would say, I mean, just stunning parade video out.
Did you see the Cambodian Buddhist monks with the Trump
signs hanging up, you know, holding up, They're holding up
these Trump signs, and you know he's a peace president,
so I mean, can't say the guy hadn't been busy.
Speaker 3 (04:40):
Well, I didn't say that, it's all well and good.
I'm just saying he made the campaign promise or he
was gonna end this aura on day one and possibly
before that, and it didn't happen.
Speaker 2 (04:49):
Oh, we're looking at him with a sit down. Now.
Then you've got the bilateral meeting with Zelenski and then
hopefully a trilateral meeting with all three of them. So
it's a process.
Speaker 3 (05:01):
Well maybe he has even promised that. He said we'll
see what happens. So he said, we'll see how this goes.
And remember he said this is setting the table and
this is to feel out Vladimir Putin. Oh god, and
you know, so the balls in Putin's court on this one.
Is he going to negotiate for peace like he says
(05:24):
he wants or is he going to continue to be
an aggressor. So we'll see what comes of this meeting today,
and I'm sure we'll have plenty to talk about regarding it.
On Monday morning, an ice operation took place right outside
of the venue where Governor Gavin Newsom was speaking yesterday
giving a news conference in California. Video from Thursday afternoon
(05:47):
shows several ICE agents outside of the Japanese American National
Museum in Little Tokyo. At least one person was detained
during the operation. At the time, Newsom was announcing a
November fourth special election where voters will decide proposed new
congressional maps for California. Newsom's trying to counter a mid
decade redistricting attempt being pushed by Republicans in Texas.
Speaker 2 (06:09):
You know what's interesting is his response to that pathetic
I think your pathetic, gruesome Newsome. Everyone's out here is oh,
they're bullying him in Mayor. Oh god, Bass, I mean this, Karen,
There is no way this was a coincidence. This was
widely publicized that the governor and many of our other
elected officials were having a press conference. Here we're here on.
Speaker 3 (06:30):
Making Los Angeles a sacred place.
Speaker 2 (06:33):
Since we won't have politicians that will do that, we
do that ourselves. You tell them that was the ICE
sector chief, there is, James Greg Bavino.
Speaker 3 (06:42):
Yeah, well, I find it interesting too that it was
at a news conference about, you know, redistricting and the
whole motivation some would argue of sanctuary cities and of
open borders in all of these things is to bolster
the roles of the Democrats, the voter roles, so that
(07:03):
they can have more representation. And that's what the census
fight was all about, counting illegal immigrants in the census,
and why Trump tried to fight that. It's why they
let these people pour across the border. It's why these
cities welcome them because the more of them there are,
(07:23):
they figure that they're going to vote Democrat and that
that's going to give them more congressional representation because you're
you know, you're represented. You know the Senate, each state
gets two senators, but in Congress it's based on your population.
So the more population you have, the more representation you have.
And that's how they're playing their game. They're dirty, little, lying, sneaky,
(07:48):
cheating game like they always do.
Speaker 2 (07:50):
Yeah, it's rigging. They even called the act that he's
trying to put on the ballot the Election Rigging Response Act,
like they're just calling it what it is. And how
can new him out of one side of his mouth say, oh,
jerrymandering is bad, vote for my jerrymandering. It's just like
what a lunatic.
Speaker 3 (08:08):
Yeah, go ahead, Well I was just going to say, yeah,
he's like, you know, we have to fight fire with fire.
Barack Obama, you know, made his statement on it, which
was totally ridiculous. You know, people are pointing to Obama saying,
you see that the Democrats are unified against this because
Obama said, we can't let a systematic assault on democracy
(08:30):
just happen. And I find that rich from a president
who did a systematic assault on democracy. Look quite literally,
if you go back and look at what they did too,
the incoming Trump administration and everything else. He was totally
behind all of this Russia collusion, Steel dossier, all of
(08:50):
this spying on the pillery and Obama and everybody, we're
all in on it. And then he's going to talk about,
you know, systematic systematic attack, a systematic assault on democracy.
That guy is and.
Speaker 2 (09:05):
Then totally hypocritical. And everybody needs to understand that gruesome
newsom is doing this to nullify what Texas is doing.
And that's important because if the Democrats take over the
House and get control again of the House, what do
you think they're going to do. They're going to stemy
President Trump's last two years.
Speaker 3 (09:24):
Well, of course, and they're and they also have an
advantage with all of these illegal aliens that are being
counted and will be represented, and that's the way they
cheat the system. And then the Republicans say, well, we're
going to play their game, but do it legally here
and we're going to redistrict. And they all their heads explode.
(09:45):
Oh my god, the attack on democracy. They're fakers and gaslighters,
and they're disgusting if you ask me. And now you
got me all fired up this morning. New research is
showing certain weight launch drugs could be linked to I
related issues. A couple of studies published in Jama looks
into ozempic, wagovi, mon journo, and zep bound and the
(10:08):
impact they have been having on eyehealth in Americans with
type two diabetes. One study shows there's modest risk in
developing an eye condition that could result in vision loss,
and other studies showed an increase risk of other eye issues.
Speaker 2 (10:24):
Good lord, we.
Speaker 3 (10:26):
Have to wonder about all these drugs people are taking.
And it looks like everybody's on one of these drugs, now,
doesn't it.
Speaker 2 (10:33):
Yeah. I've talked to a decent amount of people and
the first thing I ask is do you have any
side effects?
Speaker 3 (10:38):
Yeah, and I think some of them could be unforeseen. Right,
you don't know what it's going to do to you.
Ensure you're happy that you know that it helps you
shed these pounds, But what are you doing to your
body and your health in the meantime taking these pharmaceuticals.
That's one of the reasons that I endorse Charleston Weight
(10:59):
Loss because it's like it's a natural process. You don't
have to take any drugs. You don't have to buy
the prepackaged meals or any of that stuff. You know.
They teach you how to use your body to shed
the pounds and keep them off. And I got a
very kind message on talkback from a gentleman. I'll play
back for you right now. Go on, please.
Speaker 4 (11:19):
I just wanted to check in and let you know
that because of your recommendation, I went and signed up
for Charleston Weight Loss and since about June twenty eight
so I've lost forty four pounds.
Speaker 1 (11:32):
Wow.
Speaker 4 (11:33):
So thanks for the recommendation. Love the program.
Speaker 3 (11:36):
Forty four pounds and he did it without taking these drugs.
Speaker 2 (11:41):
Man, since June. That's great.
Speaker 3 (11:44):
You don't have to risk your eyesight or anything else.
So I thought that was so. I thought that tied
in perfectly because you hear me doing those commercials, and
I'll stand behind it. I mean, it's a natural process.
They teach you how to use your metabolism. You go
in there, they do like this ultra from modern scan
and see where the problems are in your body, and
then they consult with you and walk you through it
(12:07):
and support you through the process. So it worked for
him forty four pounds.
Speaker 2 (12:11):
That's amazing, balances everything and so and that includes for
me when I you know, I lost a decent amount
of weights because I wasn't getting enough protein. And it's
true about the carbs and the sugar. That stuff affects
your you know, your blood sugar. You know, it's spikes,
and then you get cravings. And once you get rid
(12:32):
of the cravings, which I did with lots more protein,
it's a little easier to stay on course.
Speaker 3 (12:40):
Yeah, well, they'll teach you how to stay on course.
But the thing is you don't take the you know,
the pharmaceuticals, and they're trying to push these pharmaceuticals. I
mean I have to take you know, heart medication and
things like that, and I was having side effects and
they're like, well, just stop taking it for thirty days
and see if the side effects go away. And I'm like, well, okay,
(13:00):
so that means I can just stop taking it eventually then, right,
And they're like, oh no, You're gonna have to take
this the rest of your life. What in the world, Well,
then why would I stop for thirty days If it's
keeping the If it's that necessary.
Speaker 2 (13:13):
The other side effect of you, you know, dying.
Speaker 3 (13:16):
Yeah, there's that other side effect. So I think I'd
rather live with, you know, the current one I have
rather than the alternative. TGIF Thank God it's Friday, Good morning,
thanks for being with us this morning. A bucking Hemy
Stillanta says a custom mechanical bull shaped like a truck engine,
(13:36):
was stolen last weekend in Pontiac, Michigan. The bucking Hemy
was taken from Roadkill Nights on Saturday. The mechanical bull
was introduced two months ago at Michigan International Speedway to
mark the automaker's return to NASCAR. The company's urging anyone
with information to contact police. The investigation is ongoing. A
(13:57):
bucking Hemy is probably not too high hard to spot.
I would imagine, but sounds like fun. Let's go to
talk back Blaze.
Speaker 5 (14:06):
If you talk about roadkill nights, you have to talk
about how the Biden administration chilled and performance muscle cars essentially,
but hopefully they'll be coming back soon. I just bought
a twenty twenty three hell Cat the other day. Nice
hoping they hoping they bring back the muscle.
Speaker 2 (14:28):
That's awesome. I've got a gallipalo who has a hell Cat.
Really yeah, and that bucking himmie. Are you kidding me?
They need to start like mass producing this thing. It's awesome.
Speaker 3 (14:39):
Yeah. The mechanical bowl shaped like a hemy.
Speaker 2 (14:41):
It's awesome. I mean I would put that into she shit,
I really would. I mean it certainly could go in
a man cave.
Speaker 3 (14:47):
And congratulations on your Hellcat.
Speaker 2 (14:49):
By the way, I wonder what color it is.
Speaker 3 (14:52):
You have to be careful, though. I hope you did
his due diligence because people like wreck those things left
and right.
Speaker 2 (14:59):
Listen, coming back from a music festival. It was dark
country road at night, and she hit it's a I
think it's called rocket Mode. I'm not kidding. I was like, yes,
I'm in the backseat just egging it.
Speaker 4 (15:13):
On.
Speaker 2 (15:13):
Thank god we survived. There's video somewhere.
Speaker 3 (15:16):
Yeah. Look how many videos you can see online of
people just wiping those things out, man crashing them, you know,
out there trying to do their burnouts in their three
sixties and losing control and all of that.
Speaker 2 (15:27):
I wish he would hit the talk back and tell
us what color it is. Hers is army green? Pretty cool?
Speaker 3 (15:33):
Yeah, I mean that's the car I could get into.
I like fast cars.
Speaker 2 (15:38):
Oh well, see I like you, yeah, but I don't.
I had to sell, well I did. I sold my
dad's sports card to your son. I can get rid
of that thing quick. I got pulled over immediately.
Speaker 3 (15:50):
Yep. That was a three fifties e.
Speaker 2 (15:53):
Oh Man Ranger. Bob's one of his favorite vehicles ever.
Speaker 3 (15:57):
I think he has me beat with the hell Cat.
I know he has me. I'm rocking a twin turbo
V eight four hundred and forty five horsepower.
Speaker 2 (16:05):
It's a girly looking Beamer though, oh whatever.
Speaker 3 (16:09):
It'll blow the doors off your Honda.
Speaker 2 (16:12):
I'm not trying.
Speaker 3 (16:14):
It still sounds like it is. You just attack usually looking.
Speaker 2 (16:18):
I have to laugh because the Beamer it looks like
a girly h only because maybe the color. I don't know.
I like it.
Speaker 3 (16:26):
It's frozen bronze with like you very very pretty. It
is very pretty, yeah, and nothing wrong with a pretty car.
It goes really fast, yeah, but it.
Speaker 2 (16:35):
Doesn't fit you, per se is what I what do
you think fits me? A hell cat? Maybe? Or you know,
you wouldn't be able to probably fit in my desk.
Speaker 3 (16:44):
I mean I like a help yeah and all of that,
but I like a little more refinement true in that way.
I guess, well, you can call it bougie or you
can call it you know. I like to be comfortable.
Speaker 2 (16:56):
Yeah, I get that.
Speaker 3 (16:57):
And my son keeps going, you need to pick up truck,
and I'm like, I don't you know.
Speaker 2 (17:01):
You see when I see this is when you were
driving your son's pickup truck. I was like, now that
looks more like blaze.
Speaker 3 (17:07):
But nothing against pickup trucks. And I've got you know,
I've got a well it's not a pickup truck. It's
a big, old, big old suv as a third car.
And I'm like, I don't need a pickup truck. And
I'd much rather drive a fast car that handles well.
Oh man, always it is very comfortable so nothing wrong
with that. And I'm you know, I I'd like buy
(17:31):
if you could go back in the day, I'd buy
like an Old's ninety eight or something like that, or
a Cadillac with a big old V eight in it.
They didn't handle very well, and that certainly not as
well as the Beamer does. But I like the big
old land yacht comfortable cars that are fast.
Speaker 2 (17:46):
I have to, you know, put the governor on myself
with that and not have fast cars because then I
will drive them fast.
Speaker 3 (17:53):
Well, you just got it. You just can't be like
ripping on it all the time. You have to be
selective when you open.
Speaker 1 (17:59):
