Speaker 2 (00:09):
Speaker of the House Mike Johnson is slamming Democrats and
at the ongoing government shutdown. Johnson told ABC's This Week
that lawmakers on the other side of the aisle need
to start being serious about negotiating to end the matter.
His comments comments, the government shutdown is now the third
longest funding laps in modern history. It's topped only by
the shutdowns of nineteen ninety five and twenty eighteen. Into

(00:31):
twenty nineteen, the government shutdown is entering another week with
no clear end after Senators failed for the tenth time
to resolve the impass and votes on Thursday.

Speaker 3 (00:43):
Well maybe now that the hate America rallies are over,
the Democrats, will you do right by the American people
and reopen the government. Speaker Johnson went on to say,
you know, with the new King's rally, if the president
was a king, the government would be open. Thought that
was a bit of a zinger, you know, he said,
they wouldn't have been able to engage in that kind

(01:04):
of you know, free speech. But they're still concern out
here clearly, of course. I mean weekly we're getting what
fifteen billion dollars less siphoned out of the economy. People
not getting haircuts or going to restaurants, maybe buying less groceries.
But you know, miss paychexs is not sustainable.

Speaker 2 (01:25):
Well, they need to open the government, they need to
fund it, and you know, times running out. I mean,
we only have this bill that's sitting on the Senate
that they keep trying to pass, only funds the government
through November twenty first. So do the math. I mean,
even if they pass it today, what does that do?
It funds it for barely a month, right, and.

Speaker 3 (01:49):
Here we are back at the you know, quote unquote
negotiating table again. I mean, this is oh, it's not laughable.
It's especially if you're one sitting on the sidelines or
you know, maybe you were rift. Maybe there's so many
lanes here. You know, there are some people who are like, oh,

(02:11):
you'll get back pay. Oh, then you have the administration
saying maybe not. And there are other people that you know,
are saying you're not going to be coming back to
you know, getting messages, you're not going to becoming bout
to work.

Speaker 4 (02:24):
You've heard the president last week say.

Speaker 3 (02:26):
We're getting rid of, We're getting rid of you know, people,
policies you know, within the government and within their purview
that they can that don't aren't aligned with the America
first and this administration's agenda.

Speaker 2 (02:42):
So hmmm, well, and there's going to be lawsuits over
how the president proceeds, so whether it's firing people or
shutting down democratic democratic pet projects or you know, it
seems like he's targeting the Democrats in his pairing back

(03:03):
of the federal government with no money to spend, and
that's going to be challenged in court.

Speaker 3 (03:10):
Oh yeah, they challenge every movie makes in court, so
you know, no surprise there. I still am curious now
that the Haye America rallies are over, if we're actually
going to see some you know, for the American people
affected by this, and that truly is everyone, whether it's
the mom and pop who you know, is seeing a

(03:32):
downturn in their dollars coming through the front doors because
people aren't leaving their homes because it costs money quite literally,
So this is truly and who knows the ripple effect
of that heading into you know, pick the holiday, whether

(03:52):
it's you know, Thanksgiving of course we have Halloween first,
but Thanksgiving into Christmas, fifteen billion a gdpiece iphoned out
of our economy weekly, and we're going into week three.
There will be a ripple effect to this.

Speaker 2 (04:11):
Well, of course there will be. And you know, how
come they just can't fund a regular budget and then
we don't have to do this over and over and
over again. And even if they passed this suddenly, then
what's it going to look like on November twenty first?
Then is the government going to shut down again? And
are we going to go through all of this again?

Speaker 3 (04:31):
Well, I would say that at the hands of Democrats,
and that's where we are then probably likely yes, because
the first nine months of this administration were the most
successful in history and the Democrats don't want that, which
is why they shut the government down. And I would
brace yourselves for them potentially doing the very same thing again.

Speaker 2 (04:54):
Well, we'll see. You know, First we have to get
through the first hump, which is getting the government back open,
even if it is for a short time. The FBI
is leading the investigation into the discovery of a hunting
stand near the Air Force one landing zone in Florida.
A Secret Service spokesperson confirmed The discovery was made Thursday
during a security sweep ahead of the president's arrival in

(05:17):
Palm Beach. No individuals were found at the location, but
officials noted the teams identified items of interest. The agency
confirmed the hunting stand had a direct line of sight
to the restricted parking area for Air Force One. Trump
traveled to Florida on Friday to spend the weekend in
West Palm Beach.

Speaker 3 (05:36):
Oh my first thought was, oh my gosh, this is disturbing,
and then immediately like wow, all kudos to the team
who found this. I mean, I just can't imagine being
Trump's secret service, you know, assigned to his secret service
team to protect.

Speaker 4 (05:52):
Him at all times.

Speaker 3 (05:53):
Here he is two time attempted assassination thwarted president, with
a target on his back everywhere. I just, you know,
the I don't know how these people are believing sleep
at night. This kind of stuff would keep me up.

Speaker 2 (06:05):
Well, to be honest with you, I mean, I think
for the Secret Service, that's their job. And how difficult
is it to spot a hunting stand within the within
the direct line of sight. Well that doesn't mean it's invisible.

Speaker 3 (06:21):
It was pretty I mean, if you look at the
pictures of it, It just looks like could have been
a massive birds nests. Frankly, I mean I don't know.
Maybe I didn't see the best of photos of it,
but I'm curious what they took from the stand, what
was up there.

Speaker 2 (06:37):
Well, all they said was items of interest.

Speaker 4 (06:39):
Yeah, I know.

Speaker 3 (06:40):
This goes to show the you know, the deep thinking
of you know, policing the tree line. I mean, maybe
they learned something from the whole you know, second assassin
attempt thwarted there at mar A Lago, with that whole
guy nesting out in the trees for all the hours
that he was there, Well.

Speaker 2 (06:58):
You would think, and you would hope, hope that they
were already doing that. I mean, there should have been
doing that. That This isn't some great new discovery that
they have to go, you know, pay attention to the
tree line.

Speaker 3 (07:10):
Well, I am not a secret Service agent. I have
no idea, but I hope it was just a hunter,
you know, and not something more sinister.

Speaker 2 (07:21):
California Highway Patrol officials say a one hundred and fifty
five millimeters shell prematurely detonated during a live fire demonstration
at Camp Pendleton on Saturday, sending fragments onto a CHP
vehicle and motorcycle assigned to Vice President JD. Vans's protective detail.
The incident happened during an event marking the two hundred

(07:42):
and fiftieth anniversary of the Marine Corps. No officers were injured,
though shrapnel struck a parked patrol car and motorcycle on
a closed ramp of Interstate five. Governor Gavin Newsom ordered
the seventeen mile freeway closure, opposing military plans to fire
over the open in highway despite officials saying it would

(08:02):
be safe. According to the patrol report, officers heard debris
hitting around them and a two inch fragment left a
small dent in a vehicle hood.

Speaker 3 (08:11):
Dear lord, you have to thank god nobody was seriously
hurt or killed. I mean, one hundred and fifty five
millimeter shell is huge.

Speaker 2 (08:19):
And the military it's like, no, you don't have to
close the freeway, it's perfectly safe.

Speaker 3 (08:23):
Ind I woant to know, I mean questions he's to
be answered here, who and why? You know, who allowed
this live fire that close to an interstate And he's
being answered, well, you.

Speaker 2 (08:34):
Know the thing is that they wanted to keep the
interstate open for this live fire demonstration and saying that
it was perfectly safe, and Gavin Newsom's like, I don't
think so I'm going to close the freeway and.

Speaker 4 (08:46):
Then clearly not so safe.

Speaker 3 (08:48):
I mean that shropnel could have killed somebody, that's that
could have caused another explosion.

Speaker 4 (08:52):
Frankly, hit a motorcycle, could have hit the gas tank.
I mean, who knows.

Speaker 2 (08:58):
Well, I mean, so it put dent and I don't
mean to lessen what happened, but I mean this was
some debris falling right, and it dented the police car
and the motorcycle and all of this. So it sounds
to me like it was just debris falling from the
sky from the explosion. That it wasn't necessarily, you know,

(09:20):
the the bomb going off itself. But needless to say anyway,
you know, it rained down on the highway that the
military wanted to keep open during this demonstration, saying it
was perfectly safe, and then they had a premature detonation
of a one hundred and fifty five millimeter shell. That's
a pretty big shell.

Speaker 3 (09:41):
I mean that's like the size of for anybody who
doesn't know, I mean, that's like the size of I'm
trying to think, like I have one of these yetti
cups in here, but I don't know the actual ounces
of it. I mean, it's like twice the size of
this thing. How would you describe this place? I mean,
it's like this, it's huge. It's like to stack up

(10:02):
two of the largest yetties you've got, and that's how
big this is. So anyway, that's scary. Again, Thank goodness
nobody was hurt. Yes, I guess we have to thank
gruesome newsome. But then you know, the people who are complaining,
think about it this way, that the interstate was shut down.

(10:24):
They actually could blame the governor for that one.

Speaker 2 (10:27):
Well, you have to give credit where credits to. So
they were wrong when they said it was perfectly safe.
He was right for shutting down the freeway, it turns out,
So give credit where credits to. So does divorce mean
a life of enjoyment as a single person? Not necessarily.
A new study from the Pew Research Center suggests divorced
Americans once stay single for long. The research, titled Eight

(10:49):
Facts about Divorce in the US, says two thirds of
divorced Americans marry again. Pew found that men and women
are remarrying at a similar rate, but that divorce men
are slightly more likely to remarry than women. The analysis
also found a caveat that widows are less likely to
remarry than women who have been divorced. The data show's

(11:10):
nearly two million Americans got divorced in twenty twenty three.

Speaker 3 (11:17):
I don't want to talk about this. I tend to
keep my private life private. But I've been divorced since
twenty nineteen. I am still single. I'm not settling. I mean,
I'm not sure.

Speaker 4 (11:28):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (11:29):
I don't know if I ever actually marry again. To
be honest, we'll see. Because don't get me wrong, I'm
better as too.

Speaker 4 (11:34):
I love love. I just I'm not one to settle.

Speaker 3 (11:37):
And you know what, actually, despite what Peugh says out
here with this, you know, Pew Research Center, with this
whole story, I see tons of strong, beautiful women out
here who are feeling the same way I am right now.

Speaker 4 (11:48):
So take note, guys. That's all I can say about that.
I mean, I'm open.

Speaker 3 (11:52):
Some of them knocks my socks off, fireworks great, But meantime,
I'm just gonna have fun doing you know, the work,
the repair work.

Speaker 4 (12:02):
And have fun.

Speaker 2 (12:03):
Well, I mean sometimes I think right there is, and
I'm not criticizing you per se, but I think sometimes
the expectations are set too high by I won't to
say society, I'll say by Hollywood, by you know, by
the entertainment industry. Where you said, if somebody knocks your
socks off, and it's here comes the you know, night

(12:26):
and shining armor and all this, you don't.

Speaker 4 (12:29):
Know what knocks my socks off?

Speaker 2 (12:30):
Right, Well, I'm just saying I said I wasn't talking.

Speaker 3 (12:32):
About you individually, and I hear what you're saying because
you look through any social scroll and it's like all
these tall, muscly hot guys out there, and you know,
regular average dos were like, what the heck?

Speaker 4 (12:45):
Like, how am I supposed to compete with that? To me,
that's not what it's about.

Speaker 3 (12:48):
It's about how you make me feel, and you know
how you you know, how you live your life, your morals,
your values.

Speaker 2 (12:55):
Well, and it's about expectations, all right.

Speaker 3 (12:59):
Well, yeah, and I do notice that you know, for
a lot of women who you know, they'll be out
here if you know, I mentioned single gals, and they'll
be lamenting, And I'm like, well, have you told them that.
I'm like, you need to communicate, like you know, venus
mars is a real thing. There are a lot of
women out here who are like, well, I expected him
to do this and I and I'm like, you can't expect.
You need to speak, you need to say, you need

(13:20):
to communicate, tell guys.

Speaker 4 (13:22):
What you want.

Speaker 3 (13:24):
I mean, I'm not wrong out there, fellows, right, I
mean women's I don't know.

Speaker 4 (13:28):
I feel. I feel for.

Speaker 3 (13:29):
Guys, I really do, but I'm not the gal who's
not going to tell you. I mean, there's plenty of
women out there, but you know what that's intimidating.

Speaker 2 (13:36):
Well, it's a two way street. And I'm just talking
about expectations.

Speaker 4 (13:39):
And I let you know what I expect.

Speaker 2 (13:41):
And you know, so guys expect you know you can't.
If you want some kind of healthy relationship, maybe you're
not going to find it with somebody that's thirty years
younger than you. Thank you, and uh, you know, looking
for the perfect figure and body and face and all that,
and thank you, a younger age and all of these things.

(14:03):
And for the women, you know, maybe a guy that
works hard and as little gruffin is not some night
and shining armor and looks like Fabio or something. I
don't know. I'm saying that as a joke. I don't
know who the new standard would be for a sexy male.

Speaker 4 (14:23):
Oh gosh, I don't know. I'd have to think about that.

Speaker 2 (14:28):
But anyway, so each side needs to check their expectations well.

Speaker 3 (14:33):
And also don't forget the fakery out here, whether it's
you know, women putting crazy filters on their socials, so.

Speaker 4 (14:41):
Guys don't know what you really look like and you
show up.

Speaker 3 (14:44):
And it's like, who the hell are you? Two men,
it's the same thing. You know, you don't need to
put on the fakery either.

Speaker 2 (14:51):
So it's a well that goes for plastic surgery and
everything else too.

Speaker 4 (14:55):
Oh lord, I don't want to go.

Speaker 2 (14:57):
Down this well. We were talking about this the other day,
my wife and I, and I can't remember what triggered it.
It was somebody in my wife, like, you know who
that is? That was that that person that was in
that lawsuit. So I only kind of loosely remember how
this went down. But some guy married who he thought
was this beautiful woman and they have kids and this

(15:22):
is the guy, not me, okay, and they have some
butt ugly kids and oh I saw this. Yeah, and
then they find out that she had all this plastic surgery.

Speaker 4 (15:32):
In all of this, yeah, he didn't know what she looked.

Speaker 2 (15:35):
At and he didn't know what she looked like prior
to the plastic surgery, so he sued her over their
butt ugly children.

Speaker 3 (15:42):
This was a true story, and I could believe it
until you saw the children and then her before the work, right.

Speaker 2 (15:50):
So yeah, So I mean that's going even beyond putting
a filter on on your Internet profile, you know. So
should you even disclose or I don't know, that gets
into a whole weird territory. Doesn't it disclosed how you

(16:10):
look pre darling? I'd like to share with you what
I looked like before my surgeries.

Speaker 3 (16:15):
I think if you're about if you're going top procreate
and have children, I mean, to me, that case showed
that it was like, Okay, here's what I look like
the way God made me before you know, the medical
community got involved, just so you know.

Speaker 2 (16:28):
And plus those poor kids, how would you like to
be one of those kids where your dad sued your
mom because you were so ugly?

Speaker 4 (16:35):
I mean he turned out to be a complete jerk.

Speaker 2 (16:37):
Oh yeah, situation.

Speaker 3 (16:39):
I mean, he's just like, they're too ugly. I don't
want them, even though she's like, these are your children.
I mean, it was just horrible. Even the judges, like
you realize this is, you know, going down in history
and infamy forever. So your children were never not know
that you're this, you know, crappy of a human being,
much else their father, right.

Speaker 2 (16:57):
Ug Yeah, it's horrible for the kids, But I mean,
you know, I don't know to the point of suing
and putting your kids through all that, but I mean
I can kind of understand, like being in shock over
what you thought you were marrying and procreating with.

Speaker 3 (17:15):
I truly couldn't believe that when she showed the pre
her pre self versus the post model face, I was like, whoa,
because she looked very naturally pretty.

Speaker 4 (17:27):
Anyway, that's a whole It turns.

Speaker 2 (17:29):
Out she wasn't.
