Speaker 1 (00:02):
Traffic and weather every ten minutes. This is Charleston's Morning
News with Kelly and Blaze on ninety four to three WSC.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
Welcome in hump Day, Wednesday, second of July. We appreciate
you joining us this morning. Run it down today's top stories.

Speaker 3 (00:22):
President Trump says Israel has agreed to his sixty days
ceasefire in Gonza. He posted on truth social that Israel
has agreed to the necessary conditions to finalize the deal.
Trump added he hopes it brings peace to the region.
He also warned Hamas to take the offer, saying you
will not get better, it will only get worse. There's
no word yet on Hamas's response to the proposed deal.

(00:45):
Trump's announcement comes as Gaza's health officials say over fifty
six thousand Palestinians have been killed in the war with Israel.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
How many listen to this and think hope, wish prey
that actually stays this way. I mean, listen to what
we're talking about. We're waiting for a response from Hamas.
I would never want to be Trump bbe anyone having
to negotiate. I'm doing air quotes here peace because we've
been here before with Hamas.

Speaker 3 (01:21):
Well, We've been here before with Israel with several different actors. Iran,
you know, Palestine Hamas, So I don't you know, I
don't know. I don't know what they're going to, how
they're going to react.

Speaker 2 (01:41):
That number is shocking and horrific and sad. The amount
of people who have died. I'm not sure it's real,
the peace or the death toll.

Speaker 3 (01:51):
The number you're talking about. Gods's Health official syy over
fifty six thousand Palestinians have died.

Speaker 2 (02:01):
You're questioning the accuracy.

Speaker 3 (02:04):
I'm questioning the truthfulness of Hamas.

Speaker 2 (02:08):
Yeah, well, as you should, as anyone should. Really my
whole point, can you trust that you know Hamas is
not going to you know, bring some kind of terror
yet again at some point that Israel's going to have
to respond to. I mean, it's a whole vicious circle. Sadly,

(02:33):
well it is.

Speaker 3 (02:34):
And if Hamas would stop bombing or lobbing missiles at Israel,
I mean they're at a total disadvantage. So you know
they why would they continue this anyway? Why have they
continued this?

Speaker 2 (02:48):
Let me put it that way, that's a great question.

Speaker 3 (02:54):
Well, I've said before, because they're hatred for Israel outweighs
their own self health, their own well being.

Speaker 2 (03:08):
Well, I mean, I get that, I agree, I understand.
How many people though, who don't get it, who don't
see that way, who are marching in the streets, who
are taking over college campuses, Who are you know, so
wholly misguided on all of this is what really just
shocks me, How you could be so ignorant that Hamas

(03:30):
is you know, a terror organization.

Speaker 3 (03:35):
Well they are, and that you know, and they hide
behind women and children in schools and hospitals, right, and
their hatred of Israel outweighs their concern for the well
being of their own citizens. So that's what Israel, and
I guess the rest of the world is up against
dealing with them. I'm covering this morning's top stories. Is
this why Elon Musk is so unhappy? President Trump's Big

(03:59):
Beautiful bill would end federal tax credits for electric vehicles
in three months. The massive tax and spending package scraps
incentives for buying or leasing evs after September thirtieth, twenty
twenty five. The bill narrowly passed the Senate Tuesday morning
and now heads to the House. It would eliminate the
seventy five hundred dollars credit for new evs and the

(04:22):
four thousand dollars credit for used ones. Experts say some
buyers may still qualify for state and local incentives if
the federal program ends.

Speaker 2 (04:32):
This is going to be interesting to actually watch over
in the House to see if anyone stands up for
Elon's government kickbacks basically for at least those who are
buying evs.

Speaker 3 (04:44):
Well, we were talking about this yesterday. This kind of
stuff drives me nuts. It's like, Oh, you get a
tax credit for having a kid, and we're going to
put one thousand dollars in the bank or in some
investment fund for newborn babies, and you get a tax
break for this, and you get a tax break for that,
and you know what, So the Republicans do it too,
you know, and then you have you know, the oh

(05:07):
buy a new, uh up to date air conditioner, but
it has to be this certain kind or buy this product,
and they need to stop all of this, all of it.

Speaker 2 (05:17):
Well, with a big beautiful bill, they're they're having to
swallow a lot of that to avoid the what we
continue to hear is being dubbed as the biggest stocks
increase in history. They you know, could take effect come
what December if they don't do something. And we already
know the Big Beautiful Bill is dubbed that because there's

(05:38):
so much in it, and of course people are going
to keep pushing back and forth on the beautiful part
of it.

Speaker 3 (05:43):
Well, there's a bunch of waste in it.

Speaker 2 (05:44):
Whether they agree or disagree with picking and winning losers
if you will.

Speaker 3 (05:49):
Yeah, So they're going to do away with the EV
credits and then just move the credits over to kit
you know, children having children and things like they're buying
in a American car or things like this, stop wasting.
We're almost forty trillion dollars in debt and we will
be if this bill passes and they're still doing crap

(06:11):
like that.

Speaker 2 (06:12):
Well, it's kind of ironic that Elon's out here saying that.
You know, on one side of this, you could understand
his frustrations in the beginning, where he's risked so much
and worked so hard with DOGE Department of Government Efficiency,
cutting all of the waste, fraud and abuse, and then
he looks at Congress and he's like, wait, this thing's
packed with waste, fraud and abuse. But then on the

(06:34):
other side of things, he's like, wait, what about my
ev you know, tax cuts and brakes. It's like, wait
a second, man, which one is it. People are coming
out with all kinds of comments about Elon and his
political instincts. They say they stink and that he has
no stroke in Washington. I don't know if you caught
Scott Bessett our commerce had. He's been on a tirade

(06:58):
about Elon. He was out yesterday saying, I'll take market
based indicators over these so called experts all the time
when it comes to the market in recovery and what
the big beautiful bill could do to the economy, you know,
forecasted out forward. He said Elon needs to stick to
rockets and all stick to finance. Makes me think those

(07:21):
two did have a physical tussle. You remember when we
talked about that week's back, Yeah.

Speaker 3 (07:27):
I mean possibly, so there was so the rumor was, yeah,
that they had an altercation and even turned physical and
somebody had to go in and separate them. But you know,
back to the point of in Scott Bessen's right, and
I've always said this, the market is the most efficient
way to solve problems. It'll get there the quickest, the

(07:48):
most efficiently, and it will always solve problems if the
government stays out of it. The problem that why everything
takes so long to get it is because the government interferes,
interferes in the markets, and interferes in everything and slows
everything down and makes it inefficient.

Speaker 2 (08:05):
Causing more problems. You know, I'll add to that. Scott
Bezants also right. He said that he's confident this bill
is actually going to pay down the debt. I didn't
give the timeline on that, but.

Speaker 3 (08:17):
Well, I'm sure there is some good things in this
big beautiful bill, and I've heard of some of the
good things that I can agree with in the big
beautiful bill. But why do we need to lighten it
down with all this other crap in order to pay
off essentially, you know, these politicians that are voting for it,
it's disgusting and it's shameful, and I agree with the critics.

(08:40):
You know, I don't know if they should pass it
or not, because that's the price of doing business in
this government, not only in this particular government. I should
just say, with the government in general, how to get
things done. You got to pay these bozos off. And
it's it's very anger inducing to see it happen.

Speaker 2 (08:58):
I'm over here these boso. Do you ever think you'd
be at a job where you'd be this enraged at
you know, before eight o'clock in the morning.

Speaker 3 (09:08):
Oh, they are bosos daily, Look at them.

Speaker 2 (09:12):
I agree, it's sad.

Speaker 3 (09:14):
They all hold themselves up to be you know, above
approach and all of this. They're scummy, shady little whorees.

Speaker 2 (09:21):
Yeah, I just it's sad what our government has devolved into.
Although maybe it's always been this awful. You read back
in history, My god.

Speaker 3 (09:34):
Well, I mean it's been going on for quite a while.
I can't speak back to the very beginning. I mean
you would have to think, like, what better way for
a scummy, shady, little horror opportunist to insert themselves into
the best position where they can take advantage of it?
And guess what that's uh what they're our Congress.

Speaker 2 (09:54):
Is full of unfortunately, how you know, riding the ship
on this one, they have to vote themselves out of
so many things, pay raises, if you know, to turn
all of this around, they would have to vote against
having all their palms greased. They would have to vote,

(10:15):
you know, they have a say in this, and so
unfortunately it's just one big circle, you know what.

Speaker 3 (10:23):
Well, and when it comes down to it, and when
the vote is so tight, this is especially when you
start seeing it getting these bills get getting filled up
with all kinds of wasteful things, because that's the leverage
that the I'll stop saying, this scummy, shady little ward

(10:44):
watch not use to get what they want to enrich
not only themselves in a lot of cases, but pay
off their donors. You know how it works.

Speaker 2 (10:55):
Well, yeah, super swampy, this is when we're really going
to see.

Speaker 3 (10:59):
And so the tighter the vote is, the more of
that you're going to see because they have more a
greater amount of leverage in order to you know, to
demand that and get it.

Speaker 2 (11:09):
At the end of the day, we're going to see
more Alcatraz Alligator Alcatraz is And maybe this we need
to figure this out around Congress and DC. These the
swamp creatures exposing themselves for who they are.

Speaker 3 (11:24):
Yeah, and you know how ab outputting the country first,
and I think we need to go back to a
part time legislature. The fact that we have full time
law makers is absolutely ridiculous.

Speaker 2 (11:36):
To me six figure salary.

Speaker 3 (11:38):
It's my job to make laws. I mean, how many
laws do we need?

Speaker 2 (11:43):
No, actually, you should be calling back these laws.

Speaker 3 (11:46):
Right and you know, in common sense needs to prevail
and we should go back to a part time legislature.

Speaker 2 (11:53):
Staying in their districts.

Speaker 3 (11:55):
Yeah, and when they're in there, they can't trade on
the stock market and they can't do.

Speaker 2 (11:59):
All of these And how about they have the same
benefits as you or I, the average American person.

Speaker 3 (12:05):
Well, and they need to be and you know, and
I used to be like on the fence about term
limits because I'm like, you know, it's so swampy and
it's so intricate in the way that it works. Once
they figure it out, if you have term limits, then
they're out of there and the next person has to
come in and start. So I was kind of worried
about efficiency and things getting done. Now I'm like, no,
it needs to go to a part time legislature. They

(12:26):
need to be term limited. They come in, they literally
do their civic duty, serve their country, and go back home.
And I think that's the only way that it can work,
and where the only way we can get rid of
the shady, scummy little horrors that are have infested our

(12:47):
government over decades, if not centuries. Now, So there you go.
There's my solution.

Speaker 2 (12:54):
We need to make a T shirt like a station tea.
Will someone wear that?

Speaker 3 (12:59):
I will? Oh my god.

Speaker 2 (13:01):
We need some new merch anyway.

Speaker 3 (13:04):
And you know what I mean. We need to start
calling them out and embarrassing them. Now it's like, ahmos, ownitor,
I'm a congressman. Usual dress me is so started dressing
him as a scummy, shady little horse.

Speaker 2 (13:17):
Sam. I'm telling you we need to market.

Speaker 3 (13:20):
That, yes, and then maybe the position won't be so
appealing to them, but then the money will probably prevail.
Paramount CBS News has settled the sixty Minutes Kamala Harris
deceptive editing lawsuit with President Trump. Paramount Global and CBS
agreed on Tuesday to pay President Donald Trump as some
they could reach north of thirty million dollars to settle

(13:40):
the president's election interference lawsuit against the network. Trump will
receive sixteen million dollars up front that'll cover his legal costs,
costs of the case, and contributions to his library or
charitable causes to be determined by Trump. Himself. There's an
expectation that there will be an another allocation somewhere around

(14:01):
fourteen million dollars set aside for advertisements, public service announcements,
or other transmissions in support of conservative causes by the network.

Speaker 2 (14:11):
Don't you love this? Talk about vindication? So now you've
got Trump's library mostly paid for by fake news. I mean,
that's just if that didn't make you smile and laugh
and do a victory dance, I don't know what.

Speaker 3 (14:25):
Yeah, well, we'll see if he decides to use the
money towards, you know, the library or not. And those
libraries are expensive, so I don't know if it's mostly
paid for, but you know, he can use it for
that if he so wishes, can put it towards that.
And the hilarious part to me is that they have
to give him fourteen million dollars worth of ads, public

(14:48):
service announcements, or other programming to support conservative causes because
they screwed up so bad, and in the liberals at CBS,
their heads are exploding.

Speaker 2 (15:00):
Well, they're not the only ones, though. He's stacking bills,
whether it's for the library or not. I mean, CBS
in paramount far from the only ones. I you know,
some would say seeking peace with Trump, but it's it's
far more than that. But think about Walt Disney is
the parent company to ABC, and they had to pay
out fifteen million to the Future Foundation Museum. And that

(15:22):
was over George you know, snuffle up, I guess, and
then go down the list.

Speaker 3 (15:28):
Here.

Speaker 2 (15:28):
Meta had to pay Trump twenty five million dollars. That
was the resolve the lawsuit that Trump brought because they
kicked him off a Facebook during j six back in
twenty twenty one. In the whole you know, capital drama.
Then you've got Disney. I mean, it just goes on.
Elon Musk even had to X had to pay Trump

(15:48):
ten million dollars to settle a lawsuit too. So I mean,
like I said, bills are getting stacked.

Speaker 3 (15:57):
Well, I mean somebody has to stand up to the
and I mean, and this is just the you know,
the tip of the iceberg with the deception. But this
is all over this interview with Kamala Harris where CBS
literally busted themselves because they added this interview down which
they said was only for time constraint, and they really

(16:21):
didn't change the meaning of her answer. If you look
at the two answers juxtaposed against one another, you will
discover that they sure, as you know, what did change
her answer. And the way they got busted is they
put a promo out with her answer, and then when
they ran the piece, it had a different answer, and

(16:43):
somebody said, wait a minute, what's going on here? And
they discovered that they, you know, as usual, she had
this long, rambling words, slid, nonsensical answer to their question,
and then all of a sudden she had a coherent,
cohesive answer when the piece ran, and people so this

(17:05):
wasn't only like although I wouldn't blame them, and you
can understand why somebody's saying, well, wait a minute, this
isn't like her. They actually had the promo to compare
it to, so CBS busted themselves. And then the fallout
of this is, you know, the guy who ran sixty

(17:26):
minutes has left, you know, the so called journalists.

Speaker 2 (17:30):
And he's not apologizing.

Speaker 3 (17:32):
At sixty minutes are all or at CBS are all like,
you know, we lost a good man there, and they
shouldn't interfere with our news division and we've only been
trying so you know that they're not used to people
rocking their insulated liberal little worlds where they can put
out as much disinformation as they want and manipulate the

(17:54):
news as they see fit. And then Gaslight, Fox News
and everybody else were suppose doing the same thing.

Speaker 2 (18:01):
Well, just so you know, with the tides turning h
they're up for grabs CBS and Paramount, they're you know,
there's a sale out here. They're hoping to make a
lot of money, and sky Dance Media is up on
the block wanting to buy you know here where you
think about programming, how this could change. I mean, we

(18:23):
just want fair and honest reporting and let people decide
for themselves how to feel about it. And just so
you know, sky Dance Media the CEO is David Ellison.
He's the son of the Oracle co founder Larry Ellison.
I mean, think about this. This is you know, the
guy whose billions are you know, underwriting this deal for Paramount.

(18:46):
So we'll see, we'll see how the if they're slant
is dissolved with these people leaving and and then being
bought out by you know a new set of fresh
eyes and ears.
