Speaker 1 (00:03):
This is Charleston's Morning News with Kelly and Blaze, seven thirty.
Speaker 2 (00:08):
Good Monday morning. We'll see there's going to be ray
in the forecast moving into the afternoon hours and showers
here on the sixteenth of June on ninety four to
three WS.
Speaker 3 (00:19):
Just ahead, we're covering this morning's top stories. President Trump
rejected an Israeli proposal to target Iran's supreme leader. According
to multiple reports, Trump turned down the plan to kill
Ayatola al Kamani. In an interview on Fox News Sunday,
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu dismissed what he called false reports
about discussions between the US and Israel. Word of the
(00:41):
proposal comes as Iran threatens to strike US military targets
if it continues to help Israel defend against Iranian airstrikes.
Speaker 2 (00:51):
So this has been really popping off over the weekend,
with the IDF saying over the past two days that
it's killed nine senior scientists and experts involved in the
Iranian nuclear project. As for President Trump, he's been warning
Iran not to take any action against US interests in
the region, and he keeps pushing for peace, including coming
(01:13):
up in Canada today well there's.
Speaker 3 (01:17):
Some reports making the rounds on the internet that the
Ayatola has been killed. There's no they appear to be false,
but you know, who knows.
Speaker 2 (01:28):
I guess time will tell on that one. I mean,
the President has been calling for both sides to head
back to the negotiating table to end the violence. Israeli
Prime Minister bb Net Yaho has you know, seemed to
be saying that negotiations aren't worthwhile. So I and then
(01:50):
you know, fast forward to even Trump himself saying, well,
we were supposed to meet on Friday. I think he
was on CNN. I'm not sure exactly what which outlet
he said this, but it was, well, all the people
that I was supposed to meet with, you know, potentially
we were talking Friday about a Sunday meeting. Would this
happen or wouldn't it post strikes from Israel? You know,
(02:12):
on RAN and Trump said, the people who were supposed
to meet with are no longer alive.
Speaker 3 (02:18):
Well, Ran can't be trusted, So you wonder what they're
going to pull out, and even wonder if they're the
ones that are putting the rumor out there that you know,
the Ayatola has been killed, and in releasing false reports.
They released news stories showing down a shot down jet
fighter that they say they shot down, but it's clearly
(02:41):
AI there is no fighter like that. It's like made
of different different fighters, so you know, when you look
at the it's not consistent. So there is no plane
like that that they show as having been shot down
by them. So this is the same thing as like
bag Dad Bob right, you can't trust these people. They
put a bunch of misinformation out there to muddy the water.
Speaker 2 (03:05):
Well, then there's also the videos out there that look
look to be legit of Iranian celebrating, whereas BB you know,
saying we're here to you know, to bring you some pendance,
to free you from this regime. And there were people
that had taken to the streets that looked like in
this video that we're celebrating again.
Speaker 3 (03:24):
I mean, how can you tell what's real and what's propaganda.
Speaker 2 (03:29):
I hear you AI is a disturbing thing.
Speaker 3 (03:31):
And you know, and that could be, you know, propaganda
on the Israeli side. I don't know if it is
or not. It seems to me they're probably you know,
not too keen on going out and expressing anything against
the regime in Iran publicly in the streets. That would
be a dangerous thing if you're Iranian. But maybe they were,
maybe they weren't. State Representative Melissa Hortman, the top Democrat
(03:55):
in the Minnesota House, and her husband were shot dead
in a parent politically motivated assassination. Governor Tim Walls said
Democratic state Senator John Hoffman and his wife were also
shot by the same person. Walls said the couple survived
the attack. Authorities have found and captured Vance Bolter. A
list found in his car included about seventy potential targets.
(04:18):
Federal law enforcement officials said the FBI was offering a
fifty thousand dollars reward for his capture and conviction, and
there was a nationwide manhunt, but they found him in
a field in Minnesota.
Speaker 2 (04:30):
Well, I know the police chief talking about the man
hunt being over, and I mean, can you imagine the
terror of the grip the area as this was going
on for quite some time over a day.
Speaker 4 (04:41):
I've been just solely focused on the manhunt, and the
goal was is to give some calm to the situation
of many individuals that were on the list that were
worried about their safety.
Speaker 2 (04:52):
Did you say seventy seven zero seventy What a lunatic.
Speaker 5 (04:58):
So we'll see.
Speaker 3 (04:59):
I have feeling they're they're trying to make this into
you know, the right wing is unhinged and violent.
Speaker 2 (05:07):
Well, but it turns out that you mentioned Minnesota Governor
Tim Walls there, who's a Democrat. I mean, this fifty
seven year old was reportedly appointed to the state's Workforce
Development Board. I think this said twenty nineteen by Tim Walls.
This man's got a history with being associated somehow with
(05:28):
a Democrat leaning politics. So I don't know, people are
digging into that already.
Speaker 3 (05:34):
Well, I mean he had abortion was one of his
issues that he was upset about. There was several things,
so I mean, we'll just have to wait and see
what they find out about this guy. I mean, they
just captured him last night.
Speaker 2 (05:48):
So well, how horrific. And people are you know, talking
about political leanings. They're talking about the Melissa Wharton you know,
I don't know if you've seen the video that's going
kind of viral of her. Lisa started on looked like
Saturday and a Sunday where she was speaking to the
media after she voted no on healthcare for illegals. And
(06:09):
then you know, people are like and look, now she's
been assassinated this morning. Who knew she'd be a target,
you know, potentially of her own party or a member
you know of her own party. I don't know, but
to say that this is some unhinged right wing lunatic,
it looks like it's shaping up to not be the case.
Speaker 3 (06:29):
Well, I mean it's unhinged no matter what political party
they belonged to. Of course, it's mentally ill. And yeah,
it's kind of odd that she's the only Democrat that
voted for that. Just the fact that she was the
only Democrat that voted against giving healthcare to illegals tells
you a whole lot about Minnesota.
Speaker 2 (06:48):
Yeah, so there was a special session for people don't
know in the Minnesota legislature on Tuesday to approve these
remaining pieces of their state budget. And one of Hoton's
final acts as a Democrat lawmaker was voting with Republicans
during that session. So the whole thing is disturbing, scary
(07:11):
for any lawmaker. I mean, this lawlessness won't be tolerated,
doesn't matter your politics. This is so upsetting.
Speaker 3 (07:21):
Well, it's horrible, and you know, and he had this
targeted list and yeah, I would have been afraid if
I was on that list. And he was still out
on the loose, and he had a fake cop car,
he dressed as a cop. Did you see the mask
he had on. Yeah, that was creepy.
Speaker 2 (07:38):
Yeah. And this manifesto, oh my god, seventy names.
Speaker 5 (07:45):
Well, I don't know if it was.
Speaker 3 (07:46):
They're not describing it as a manifesto, but a list
of seventy targeted people that he was going to go after,
and then there was some you know, notes on there.
Speaker 5 (07:55):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (07:56):
Maybe it'll turn out that it is, that there was
some kind of manifesto that would explain his thought process,
but so far, we'll have to wait and see what
investigators find in release.
Speaker 2 (08:07):
We run of den Today's top stories in a Monday
edition of the show, Welcome In.
Speaker 3 (08:11):
Over four hundred and sixty employees that the centers were
diseased Control and Prevention are getting their jobs back after
being laid off. The Department of Health and Human Services
said reinstatement notices were sent out this week. HHS did
not give details about the rehiring decisions. Officials have confirmed
that around two hundred of the reinstated workers were from
(08:31):
the CDC's National Center for HIV, Viral Hepatitis STD and
Tuberculosis Prevention Centers.
Speaker 2 (08:41):
Now this is interesting because I know there was one
judgment last week, and I don't know if it involved
the CDC, but I know it involved some government workers
that had to be reinstituted or had to be given
their jobs back.
Speaker 3 (08:54):
Well, they keep going back and forth on that. So
a judgment issue, some injunctions saying you need to give
them their jobs back, and another judge will come along
and block it. And I mean it's hard to keep
track of, right, and it can even change several times
throughout one day, right, back and forth.
Speaker 2 (09:10):
So let's just say so that's.
Speaker 3 (09:11):
Why they're saying that. You know, the HHS did not
give details about the rehiring decisions, so.
Speaker 2 (09:17):
We'll give them the benefit of doubt. And what if
this is rfkge You're going, you know what, No, we
actually need them and so let's bring them back. But
that wouldn't fit the narrative of the left that are
like this administration is cruel and ruthless and they're cutting jobs.
You know that basically, politically, people don't align with them
or you know, they're throwing out all kinds of stuff,
But this would thwart that, this would fly in the
(09:39):
face of that. Is that were the caves?
Speaker 5 (09:42):
Yeah, I mean, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (09:44):
What struck me is where it said, you know that
the reinstated workers were from HIV And I had just
read an article and I hate talking about like these
articles unvetted because you know, I don't down the rabbit
hole to explore the veracity of this or whatever. But
(10:05):
they're talking about vades where this new study uncovered what
they're calling VADES, which is vaccine caused aids.
Speaker 5 (10:16):
Now that sounds crazy.
Speaker 2 (10:17):
Yeah, it does, how scary.
Speaker 3 (10:20):
But they're saying that this study found an increase in
this vaccine caused aids by people that receive the mr
NA vaccines.
Speaker 2 (10:32):
Wow. Well, to me, if there's anyone actually and you
can speak off air and with anonymity, frankly, if you're
someone experiencing that, I certainly would want to hear from you.
Speaker 5 (10:42):
Yeah, And like, you know, how many people is this affecting?
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (10:46):
And that's the thing, because it can affect you know,
even to say a handful of people and everybody else
is like, ah see, that's fake news. Well it's not
fake for the handful of people that has happened to.
So wouldn't you at least want to know that there's
a chance that that could happen to you, And so
that's why we report it. We're not out here trying
(11:07):
to play chicken little saying the sky's falling and you're.
Speaker 5 (11:10):
Going to get ads if you were injected with the vaccine.
Speaker 3 (11:14):
That's not the point. The point is to have an
honest conversation about it and then you can decide. But
we all know at this point that it was not
an honest conversation when they were trying to shoot everybody
full of that vaccine. Maybe the list would be shorter
if they only included what is safe to eat. A
new report says pesticide residue can be found on many
(11:36):
types of produce. The annual Dirty Dozen list from the
Environmental Working Groups twenty twenty five Shoppers Guide to Pesticide
in Produce says ninety six percent of samples of twelve
non organic fruits and vegetables had detectable levels of more
than two hundred different pesticides. The ewg's twenty twenty five.
(11:57):
Dirty Dozen includes spinach, strongerries, kale, collars, mustard, greens, grapes, peaches, cherries, nectarines, pears, apples, blackberries, blueberries,
and potatoes. The Health Advocacy Organization has compiled the report
for over two decades by analyzing government food safety data.
Speaker 2 (12:18):
Is there nothing say if you just mentioned everything that's
healthy here? We are trying to be healthy. So I
came across down a rabbit hole of these produce stickers
in which you should be looking for, you know, organic
versus GMO. You know when it comes to stick do
you pay attention to the stickers in the grocery store?
I mean when I say rabbit hole, that's got confusing.
Speaker 3 (12:37):
I mean a little bit. But I don't even believe
them when they say that something's organic.
Speaker 2 (12:42):
I agree, And they even did studies on this as well,
and just a way.
Speaker 5 (12:48):
To charge you more and they're probably lying about it.
Speaker 2 (12:51):
Well, this is why I like, And I know it's
difficult to you know, take the time and go and
shop at your local farmers' markets, but you literally get
to talk to the actual farmers and I get to say, hey,
ask them questions, not even just like how do you know,
how do you I often do the cooking part of
It'm like, how do you cook this? Or what do
you do with this? You know, because there's so much
of it, there's an abundance of one thing if it's
(13:12):
growing in the field, like what do you do aside
from canning, roasting otherwise? But I also talk about their farming,
you know, you know how to keep bugs off, those
to use pesticize what kind? But wash your produce or
peel it.
Speaker 5 (13:27):
If you can.
Speaker 3 (13:28):
Well, sometimes it doesn't remove the pesticides washing, So I actually, yes,
I actually read an article saying that it's good at
removing the dirt like soil particles off, but it doesn't
get rid of the pesticides.
Speaker 2 (13:44):
Is nothing safe anymore?
Speaker 3 (13:45):
Seems not so so? And you know what, even with
these produce stands and oh it's like a farmer's market
type thing. And I know there's some farmers out there,
and there's some credible people out there, but I've also
end of these stands where I've seen the bags under
the counter where they're just going to some food supplier
(14:06):
and buying bags of onions and potatoes and whatever else
it may be and putting it out there like it
was like they just dug it up out of the field, so.
Speaker 5 (14:17):
You know, beware of the scammers. And they just.
Speaker 3 (14:22):
Found how many like where they tested for low Country
ship shrimp because everybody, of course says it's local shrimp.
And they tested all these restaurants and only a small
percentage came back where it actually truly was local shrimp.
Speaker 2 (14:37):
Four out of forty four. There you go, four out
of forty four.
Speaker 3 (14:42):
So before you think, like, oh, there he goes again
calling everybody liars because they are they're.
Speaker 5 (14:46):
Scamming you man.
Speaker 3 (14:48):
And that goes for you know, calling things organic produce
and all of this.
Speaker 5 (14:52):
Do you really believe that they.
Speaker 3 (14:54):
Went out there and didn't use any pesticides or anything
on this stuff and it was grown totally organically and
now they sell it to you in a bag in Walmart.
Speaker 5 (15:03):
I don't know. I'm a little skeptical of that.
Speaker 1 (15:08):
