Speaker 2 (00:09):
Good Monday morning. Wow, very latest unfolding with Operation Midnight
Hammer recovering.
Speaker 3 (00:16):
This morning's top story. As the US Ambassador to the
UN is defending Saturday's strikes in Iran at the Security
Council meeting yesterday, Dorothy Camille Shay said, for forty years,
the Iranian government has called for death to America and
death to Israel, and posed a constant menace to the
peace and security of its neighbors, the United States, and
the entire world. Shay also warned Iran against retaliation. She
(00:39):
said any Iranian attack direct or indirect against Americans or
American bases will be met with devastating retaliation. The ambassador
also urged the UN to call for Iran to terminate
its drive for nuclear weapons.
Speaker 2 (00:56):
President Trump was absolutely right when he said over the
weekend that there is not another military in the world
that could have done this. What an impressive you know,
our American military, whether it's the gb used these bunker
busting bombs that we used. The precision that they did
(01:17):
this with was this was a twenty five minute operation
twenty five minutes inside of Iran, targeting one very specific thing,
which was you know their nuclear program.
Speaker 3 (01:32):
Well, they did an excellent job. Now I'm hoping that
you know, the airpower is enough to de escalate this situation.
Speaker 2 (01:42):
I would agree with you on that. I'm I'm I'm
not sure how many people were surprised by the the
timing of this, that it rolled out over the weekend,
that we were going to actually do it.
Speaker 3 (01:55):
I know, on I think everybody was surprised.
Speaker 2 (01:58):
Well in some fashion. In other ways, I'm not sure
about that. I think that once Israel started this, it
was clear that to finish it they needed us, they
needed our assets.
Speaker 3 (02:15):
Well, I think everybody was surprised that it happened on Saturday.
Trump just came out late last week and said he
was going to give a round two more weeks. He
kind of appeared to be waffling back and forth whether
he was going to do it or not, said he
wasn't going to make up his mind till seconds before
it happened. And so they even sent bombers up out
of the United States going in the wrong direction to
(02:39):
you know, to trick.
Speaker 2 (02:40):
Iran right went west while others went east.
Speaker 3 (02:43):
Right, so I think it was a surprise that it
had happened on Saturday.
Speaker 2 (02:48):
Well, the bunker busters, these munitions that were used to
well see did it destroy Fodo or not a lot
of people are questioning this morning the effectiveness of this,
and we don't know at this point with regards to
the target areas. We know that they they hit their targets,
(03:09):
I mean, fourteen massive ordinance penetrators with these nuclear target areas.
The B two bombers two were in the lead there.
I just I find these bunker busters fascinating. I don't
know if you've seen any of the before and after photos.
Seem to be making the rounds out there this morning
(03:31):
with many of them. You know, people trying to sort
of Monday morning quarterback honestly on whether they were effective
or not.
Speaker 3 (03:41):
Well, this administration says they were effective. So if you
take them at their word, they were effective, you know,
and then whether they're lying to us or not is
another matter.
Speaker 2 (03:52):
Oh gosh, I would not expect that. And you and
Secretary General, you have Antonio Guteri IRSH reacting to Operation
Midnight Hammer.
Speaker 3 (04:03):
Were now riskly sending into a ref hole retaliation after retaliation.
Speaker 2 (04:10):
So the reaction continues to come in, not just from
both sides of the isle back here at home, but
also some taking to the streets in protests yesterday here
across America. Well.
Speaker 3 (04:22):
The Department of Homeland Security's warning of a heightened threat
environment after the US strikes the National Terrorism Advisory System
bulletin alerts the public two possible cyber attacks against US networks.
It also notes the potential targeting of government officials in
other interests due to the ongoing Israel and conflict. The
bulletin also mentioned the likelihood of violent extremist acting on
(04:45):
their own. Iferranian leadership issued a religious ruling calling for attacks.
Speaker 2 (04:51):
The foreign terrorists walking amongst us is yet another argument.
Tom Homan over the weekend on with Maria Bartiromo on
Fox I believe it was yesterday, but it's another argument
for mass deportations. It's sadly something that you know, of
(05:12):
many things keeps Tom Homing up at night. He's very
open about this. He says, you know the concern of
Iran releasing you know, TERRRI is foreign nationals, potential terrors
in our country. The number he put out there was
over twelve hundred and seventy two. But then under Joe Biden,
our border was wide open to over And you've heard
(05:32):
all the different numbers as I have ten million, twenty
twelve million, up to twenty million. What's the number that
crossed our border that we don't even know.
Speaker 3 (05:43):
Well, there's reports that Iran warned President Trump last week
that if he attacked, they were going to activate sleeper
cells that they had in the United States. Now are
they bluffing or is that is that going to happen?
Speaker 2 (05:57):
Well, it's pray not they. I mean it is as
home and said it's the biggest national security concern and
vulnerability that our country has ever seen under the previous
administration and the invasion of our southern border. So had
on a swivel.
Speaker 3 (06:13):
Well, you know, we have to be extra vigilant, and
I would hope that there's investigations going on to try
to unearth or uncover any kind of sleeper cells that
there are out there. But if they are sleeper cells,
then their sleeper cells, so they might be difficult to discover.
Speaker 2 (06:34):
Well, the mini mayors and governors and sheriffs. Fox was
reporting this in the five o'clock hour met actually with
the Cabinet and the President over the weekend to potentially
discuss this. So I mean, we won't know until they
(06:54):
speak publicly about it who was involved. Well, we're going
to continue to get reaction here this morning from just
our own lawmakers here as we talk about governor's sheriffs,
you know, people involved head on a you know, head
on a swivel, being vigilant about these warnings of potential
terror attacks on our own home soil. How many you
(07:15):
got to look at this? Now we've got summertime here again,
we've got more of these. You know, I don't even
know what to call them, because some of them have
become violent after the no Kings protests over you know,
last weekend or so, and then now we see this
(07:35):
people actually taking to the streets with you know, no
war with Iran on Sunday here in the US, and
you have to wonder, you know, what is this going
to look like moving forward? I don't want to see
another summer of love. I'm sure you don't either.
Speaker 3 (07:52):
Well, they keep repeatedly saying we're not it or with Iran.
This was a targeted strike against their nuclear capabilities, and
that it's not a war against Iran or a war
against its people that we were taking away it's and
we try to do it through diplomatic measures first, and
Iran rejected that, and they were warned that if they
(08:13):
rejected that, then other measures would be taken, and that
this is not a full blown, you know, declaration of
war on Iran. This is targeted at tax to stop
them in their nuclear capabilities. Marco Rubio said over the
weekend on Maria Bartiromo that everybody, he said, there's nobody
(08:35):
in this world that is upset that this happened. He said,
even though you see these statements publicly, they're just doing
public relations and saying what they have to say politically.
But he said, in private, nobody's upset about this except
for the Iranian regime.
Speaker 2 (08:53):
Well, I mean I would agree with us seven five,
it's eight four to three, seven to two. In talk
the Rubio and many others actually over the weekend from
the administration making the rounds on these Sunday shows saying
we have been they have been playing around with us
for over forty years. And when I say playing around,
(09:14):
I mean they've been threatening the death to America, death
to Israel. I mean this is sadly something that's being
created over decades by Democrats. It's yet another problem as
president and this administration had to fix. And we'll see
what that exactly looks like as it rolls out.
Speaker 3 (09:33):
Yeah, I think the question is, you know, how do
we fix it? And these protesters I haven't seen. You know,
everybody can come out and protest and be against something,
but what are you for? What do you suggest that
we do nothing? Or do you are you suggesting an
alternative action be taken, or you know, do you have
anything other than your protestation against what the US is doing?
Speaker 2 (09:58):
Pennsylvania Senator that was interest staying that was on I
believe his Fox's Brian kill Meat over the weekend. His
name is Dave McCormick. Had this one a moment of.
Speaker 1 (10:07):
High alert because Iran is the leader of terrorism across
the world. It's been the support of all these terrorist proxies.
Speaker 2 (10:16):
So this is Maria Bartiromo when I mentioned Tom Homan
before the break, when she did a sit down with
him and he hid the numbers that he actually said,
you know, Trump administration first go round versus of these
people who are potentially dangerous in America, sleeping and hiding
and wait kind of thing. It was over twelve hundred
that he remembered first go round with the Trump administration,
(10:38):
but now he says, with over ten plus million people
that have infiltrated our borders, you know, over the last
previous administration, he almost had a who knows it's unsettling,
hard to sleep at night kind of thing.
Speaker 3 (10:51):
It's been pointed out, you know, and again on Maria Bartiromo,
you know, Marco Rubio, he did a seventeen minute interview
with her. Yeah, instead of rans behind every problem in
the Middle East, and we pointed this out, who funds Hamas,
who funds the hoodies, who funds who supplied the bombs
to maim Us during when we were you know, in Afghanistan.
(11:14):
It's all Iran, and it all points to Iran. So
they're a problem, and you can't let them have a
nuclear weapon when they promise the destruction of Israel in
the United States have been threatening that for years and
years and years and years, and they've gotten away with
(11:35):
it with past US administrations and even with Israel for
that matter. And so they, i would say, felt emboldened,
and now maybe not so much anymore, because you can't
get on the world stage and start threatening the obliteration
(11:57):
of other countries. And there's no kind of pushback to
that or no kind of reaction to that. I mean,
I think they got comfortable in their bravado and it
backfired at them this time. Right.
Speaker 2 (12:11):
They thought they could do that with President Trump what
they've done with previous presidents in the past, and get
away with it. And clearly that is not the case.
And you mentioned hesblah hamas the whu thies all because
of Iran. How about the IEDs. Where do you think
those came from?
Speaker 3 (12:28):
Yes, Iran's a bad actor on the world stage, and
a lot of people are now saying, well, what does
this mean? Is there going to be regime change? And
so far the US has resisted in saying, well, we're
going to force regime change, and we've had this discussion before.
They're hoping the Iranian people will force regime change and
(12:51):
that this regime will implode under its own evilness and
poor decisions. Will that happen? You know? Who knows? And well,
we have to take further measures. It depends what their
reaction is to this and if they retaliate or not.
Some of new York's The best known Democrats are denouncing
(13:11):
the US strike and arounds nuclear facilities. They include House
Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, who says Donald Trump promised to
bring peace to the Middle East but has failed to
deliver on that promise. Two Democratic mayoral candidates are weighing in.
Former Governor Andrew Cuomo says he supports the US taking
out Iran's nuclear strikes, but that Trump shouldn't have done
(13:32):
so unilaterally. Queen's Assembly Men's Zhran Mamdani is calling the
bombing an unconstitutional military action. Bronx Congresswoman Alexandria Ocazio Cortes
claims the president's action his grounds for impeachment. Governor Kathy
Hochels says securities being increased at Synagogue's mosques in other
(13:53):
locations as a precaution of possible retaliation by Iran. Mayor
Adams says there is currently no known threat, but the
NYPD says it has deployed additional resources and is coordinating
with federal partners. It follows anti war demonstrations across the country,
including Manhattan's Times Square, where protesters denounced US hair strikes
(14:14):
against Iran.
Speaker 2 (14:15):
So since this governor. I mean, this president has met
with governors across the state, also law enforcement officers. When
we're talking about leaders here. I know that the Congress
critters may be upset. Democrats clearly here and even some Republicans,
but the operational security of this mission was maintained because
nobody outside of the you know, surrounding of those you know,
(14:38):
within the president's inner circle there in his cabinet knew
anything about this.
Speaker 3 (14:43):
And this is not you know a lot of people
are calling this a war, and this administration says, this
is not a war. This was a targeted attack to
prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear capabilities, and that we are
not in that we did not strike the Iranians. And
I played a clip from BB Netanyahu on Friday his
(15:07):
message to the Iranian people saying we are with you
and that Israel and Iran have a long history together
and that Israel is with the Iranian people, but they
are against the Iranian regime. And so you know, he
softens his stance by saying exactly what this administration is saying,
(15:30):
that we're going after Iran's nuclear capabilities, that you know
that the government, the regime in charge in Iran is
an evil regime and not only do they threaten terror
and disruption around the world, but look at how they
treat their own people well.
Speaker 2 (15:49):
And you got to wonder are they going to step
up with regards to because we keep hearing about regime
change and you know who's not for this, And again
on both you've got lawmakers reacting with regards to nobody
wants to see war in a regime change. And even
Marjorie Taylor Green, you know, I saw her out here say, man,
when we make one step forward to make America great again,
(16:11):
we get back into another war, and she seems to
be frustrated. Even to have the president out here with
regards to is Thomas Massey saying, you know, he'll be primaried.
I mean, this is this is getting a little ugly,
well politically, and we should qualify.
Speaker 3 (16:27):
The regime change comments. So nobody's for a regime change.
Speaker 2 (16:31):
Yeah, I got confusing over the weekend with the president's
truth out there.
Speaker 3 (16:34):
Well, nobody's for forcing our own regime into Iran. And
in other words, you know, like we've done in the past.
You know, we've forced that change on other countries and
it hasn't turned out. Well, so when they say we're
not for regime change, they'refore getting rid of this regime,
but they're not for us doing that that needs to
(16:56):
be done by the Iranian people.
Speaker 2 (16:58):
Well, time is going to tell. They have sit down
talks today with what Russia. How is China going to
react to this? There's other parts of the world that
are clearly now unsettled getting involved. We'll see to what level.
Speaker 3 (17:15):
Yeah, the sittown talks in Russia are between Iran and Russia,
so we'll see what the reaction is. I mean, we're
still pretty fresh in this thing. It just happened on
late Saturday, so you know, now the world holds its
breath to see where we go next with this.
