Speaker 1 (00:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
Now Charleston's Morning News with Kelly and Place.

Speaker 3 (00:07):
More coming up as we get it with art and
traffic on the woes. Unfortunately, they faced many this morning
on the roadways here on a Monday edition of the show,
Thank goodness, from the roadways to the airways. I didn't
have any woes, no plane drama. I just saw over
my shoulder here that they've there's a denver. They had
a plane evacuated, literally, people having to slide down the

(00:30):
emergency slides in one of the one of the planes
there that had to be evacuated. Now, see I sit
in the emergency aisle. I'm tall. I was like, okay,
let me just take this emergency briefing seriously. Normally, you know,
I don't pay a whole lot of attention to it.
I look at the back of the cart or whatever.
But then we had all kinds of plane drama.

Speaker 4 (00:53):
That seems like there's a new set of there's a
new drama every day.

Speaker 3 (01:00):
Literally these planes. He had a tail clip the day
before I left at Charleston International Airport right.

Speaker 4 (01:07):
Recover. In this morning's top Story's Office of Management and
Budget Director Russell Vaught is joining President Trump and criticizing
the FED Chair Jerome Powell's decision to not lower interest rates.
Vought shared the frustration in an interview with CBS's Faced
the Nation. Trump recently toured the Federal Reserve Building in DC,
with Powell taking a closer look at a major renovation

(01:27):
at the building. The President has repeatedly criticized and insulted
Powell for not lowering interest rates, a decision Powell says,
is based on the uncertainty of Trump's tariff policies.

Speaker 3 (01:38):
He deserves a criticism. He is highly overrated. And you
want to talk about somebody who needs an emergency evacuation,
it's this guy from his post.

Speaker 4 (01:46):
Well, he looked so weak when he met with the
President at this building. He was disrespectful, well, and he
was saying no, no, no, while the President was speaking saying, look,
you know there's all these cost overruns and you're asking
for more, more money. And he's shaking his head, and
he had that serious look on his face and looked
like he was out of place and out of joint

(02:10):
over the whole Trump coming to tour the building, and
he was starting to argue with the President, No, that's
not the case. And Trump says, I have it right here.
He pulls it out of his pocket and hands it
to him.

Speaker 3 (02:22):
It was fantastic. Trump handled him so well. He really did,
because Jerome Powell his body language was unbecoming. That is
a nice way to put it downright, disrespectful of the
leader of the free world. Do our shoulder to shoulder
with shaking your head? No, like a child? It was,
you know, he should be embarrassed, and you know, you

(02:42):
want to talk about optics. I thought it was interesting.
Someone pointed out that our own Tim Scott there, Senator
Tim Scott, flanked on the other side, you know, with
the president, and people were asking why did the two
the President Jerome Powell have a hard hat on and
not and not Senator Tim Scott, Like, isn't his safety
important too? It's just interesting that people pick up on.

(03:02):
I thought that was, yeah, odd twist, but right. But
the inflation, I mean, this is this is coming from
the mouth of Steve Moore. He's an economist nbas you know,
from Stanford now a venture capitalist investor. But he even
said inflation is lower than it was back when Jerome

(03:24):
Powell in the economy and the recession. In Trump's first term.
Our inflation is lower than it was back then. Now,
so why won't you lower interest rates? That deserves an explanation.

Speaker 4 (03:39):
Well, because they want to. You know, their goal is
two percent, and we're a little above two percent. I
mean it depends kind of you know, what metrics you
look at. But we're still you know, say, I think
the latest was two point seven percent or something, which
is pretty close. And he's he wasn't that concerned when

(03:59):
he did an in straight cut before the presidential election.

Speaker 3 (04:02):
Yeah, it was on a spree.

Speaker 4 (04:04):
Yeah, and inflation was not tamed at that point. And
all of these tariff deals being announced and it has
not caused inflation so far, So I don't you know.
And it's causing more and more money to flow into
the coffers at the United States Treasury. So I don't
know what your own Paul is so concerned about it.

(04:25):
And I've said this before, Well we're concerned with what
might happen. Well, you know what, go ahead and lower
the interest rates, and then if we start seeing inflation
on the rise again at an untenable rate, then go
ahead and raise interest rates again. I mean, that's what
they do to manipulate the economy. So I just find
it insincere for him to say, oh, well, we're waiting

(04:45):
to see on this boogeyman. You know, the chicken little
scenario where Trump's tariffs, he doesn't know what he's doing,
and he's going to cause all this inflation and everything.
Everything they said was going to happen from the tariffs
has not happened. Literally, the opposite has happened over virtually
everything that they were warning about Trump's tariffs.

Speaker 3 (05:03):
And Jerome Powell also needs to be held accountable for
the Fed's new building in the bungling of this. I mean,
this is why Americans, you know what we hate about
hates a strong word maybe, but about the swamp in DC.
They spend money like it grows on trees, like it's kandy.

Speaker 4 (05:22):
I think hate is a pretty appropriate word when it
comes to, especially government waste. That's your tax dollars that
you worked hard for, that you're giving them that they're wasting.

Speaker 3 (05:33):
It is maddening.

Speaker 4 (05:34):
And to think they wanted to lynch him. Bubba Wallace
has made racing history following his win at the Brickyard
four hundred and Wallace won the race Sunday in Indianapolis.
Motor Speedway, becoming the first black driver to ever win
a major race there. It was the third career NASCAR
Cup victory for Wallace. If you'll remember, there was in

(05:55):
his garage there was a knot on the door that
was claimed by also Bubba that it was supposed to
like represent some kind of lynching and you know, like
a noose, a noose and all of these things. And
then they went and discovered that it was on all
the doors and that's the way they tied the knots
on the rope on the garage doors and there was

(06:18):
nothing to see here. But it was ridiculous for him
to claim that, you know, that there was a threat
of lynching and that they were going to hang them,
and they were, you know, put a noose on his
garage door and all of this. So anyway, a good
race car driver, you know, I'm not so sure about
him personally.

Speaker 3 (06:38):
Well, you know what's interesting about him personally, it's like, oh,
he's the first black driver. I mean, first of all,
I don't take any NASCAR fan cares about his ethnicity.
But if you want to look at his ethnicity, mom's black,
dad's white. So I don't know, I guess Dad's just
getting forgotten about here. But I take a ress.

Speaker 4 (06:57):
I mean, I hate when they make anything about race.
I need to move beyond race. Yeah, now he thought
it was funny Obama first black president, you know, or
you could call him the first half white president. I mean,
at what point? And I say that to make a
point not to be crappy about it. Right, you start,
you know, like all of a sudden, Okay, what's the

(07:17):
litmus test here? How much of a percentage? How much
blood do I have to have from one ethnic group
or race? Do you consider myself this or that? And
I mean, come on, let's just get over it. And
Obama was supposed to be our post racial president. He
was the most and then he made it worse.

Speaker 3 (07:34):
Yeah, our divisive at least with regards to race. Well
you know what, he was racing a Toyota camery. By
the way, I thought that was pretty cool.

Speaker 4 (07:42):
Yeah, I mean, Toyota is big in the NASCAR. So yeah,
I mean, congratulations to Bubba Wallace. And I think, you know,
I haven't heard too much politically out of him since
that incident that was several years ago, with the whole
lynching thing and everything.

Speaker 3 (07:58):
Ever, though far too long.

Speaker 4 (08:00):
And then you know, and finally after these investigations, they're like, well, literally,
that's the knot that they use in the.

Speaker 3 (08:05):
TA the garage door down.

Speaker 4 (08:07):
Yeah, it's on all the doors and it kind of
gives you a handle to grasp, you know, to pull
it shut. And so anyway, I mean, that was a
whole ridiculous episode.

Speaker 3 (08:17):
Good to be back. Welcome is seven forty six Here
on a Monday edition of the show.

Speaker 4 (08:21):
So where did the millions and millions and millions of
dollars of your donations go? A California lawmaker wants to
know where all the money from the fire Aid concert went.
The celebrity filled music event raised around one hundred million
dollars for victims of the wildfires around Los Angeles. By
Republican Congressman Kevin Kylie says none of the victims have
received any money, not a dime. Kylie says he's asked

(08:44):
the Department of Justice to look into the issue and
find out what happened to the tens of thousands of donations.
Now they're saying that, oh, it's going to nonprofits, and
then the nonprofits are going to distribute the aid to
the citizen.

Speaker 3 (09:00):
But they've looked into these nonprofits. I saw an interesting
report from a California reporter. I can't remember his name
at the moment, but it was really sick and concerning.
These nonprofits were not returning calls. They had weird Oh
we're going to you know, give this money to artists

(09:20):
who are affected, you know, box checking artists like you know,
under serve communities of artists who might be affected. It's like, what,
wait a minute, when people who have the heart to
give to people who have lost everything, they don't know
that you're picking these ridiculous nonprofits that.

Speaker 4 (09:43):
Right, well, it's a bunch of wwokism and there's and
you have to be careful with your charitable donations because
a lot of times these nonprofits are just a front
to you know, to the launder money wherever they wanted
to go. And we saw that with USAID, with the
fellow government. But it also I won't name any charities

(10:03):
out allowed, but I've been involved in enough where some
of them it's very unsettling what happens behind the scenes
and what happens to that money. And in a lot
of cases, the money does not go where you think
it's going, and so you need to research it and see,
you know what kind of percentage of the money goes
actually to the people it's trying to help, and how

(10:24):
much of it goes to say salaries and things like this,
because you know a lot of these charities it's literally
pennies on the dollar that's going to help the people
that you think and that it should be helping.

Speaker 3 (10:39):
This is where I truly appreciate our secretary. I think
Mark Hammond created the Angels and Scrooge's Lists where they
actually do the homework for you. They dig into the
charities and what percentage and they show you so you
can go to that website anytime before you give.

Speaker 4 (10:58):
Yeah, and you know this goes well whether it's a
local charity or a national charity. Do your homework before
you give your money to any of these charities because
a lot of times it's fraudulent. It's just another way
for them to make some money and you're not helping
who you think you're setting out to help. Makes me

(11:18):
wonder what you gals are saying behind our backs.

Speaker 3 (11:21):
Oh boy.

Speaker 4 (11:21):
An app build is a safe space for women to
talk about men has been hacked with thousands of pictures
and images of ID cards leaked online. The t app
provides users who are verified as women with an opportunity
to share notes about men looking for red flags or
other info about their behavior. The hacked data, which appears

(11:42):
to be about two years old, was leaked on the
website four Chad. The company behind the app, says it's
working to secure its platform and prevent any further breaches.

Speaker 3 (11:52):
So just I had no idea this app exystem?

Speaker 4 (11:55):
Yeah, do guys have an app where we go? You
know about the red flags women?

Speaker 5 (12:00):
You know rais And I'm gonna go with probably not.
I mean, but maybe I have no idea the tea app.
And by the way, if you're gonna spill tea, why
not Why can't it be for men too?

Speaker 3 (12:14):
You know what I mean? Like, why is this only
for women?

Speaker 4 (12:17):
Well, because everybody knows men are evil, Men are the
bad guys.

Speaker 3 (12:24):
Listen. There is a Facebook page though, and I don't
know if it's by zip code or what, but I
know there's one in the Low Country where I've heard
women say, oh my gosh, we're dating the same guy,
and they'll put pictures up and talk about these guys
and it's I've seen it on Facebook. I don't know.
I'm not a part of this group. I don't right.

Speaker 4 (12:43):
Oh, and women don't do that, you know. Women don't
date multiple men at once, women don't cheat in their marriages,
women don't come on, you know. I'm so sick of
again the division, not only racially but biologically. They want
to do it by gender now, although the whole trans
movement kind of confused that a little bit. But you know, men,

(13:05):
let's face it, have been under attack for years and
years and years.

Speaker 3 (13:08):
I also find it interesting that it said by women
who are verified as women. It's like, what does that mean?

Speaker 4 (13:14):
Right? What's the verification process they verifying this? Do you
have to send a picture of your you know what?
Or how do they verify?

Speaker 3 (13:24):
So the t app h Yeah.

Speaker 4 (13:27):
So apparently they've been talking about us behind her backs
and we didn't even know. Oh come on, I'm just
I mean, you said yourself that you didn't know that
this even existed.

Speaker 3 (13:38):
I did not know, nor did I.

Speaker 4 (13:39):
So I was kind of surprised when they're like, oh,
it's been hacked, and I'm like, so there's an app
where these women log on and talk about men.

Speaker 3 (13:48):
I mean, I knew there were Facebook pages, and I
don't want to participate in any of this.

Speaker 4 (13:54):
Well good and yeah, I don't. You know, I'd like
to go and see what they were saying, but I
can't because I'm not a verified woman.

Speaker 3 (14:03):
I'm not helping you out.

Speaker 4 (14:04):
Well, I'm gonna have to dig into this and find
out how I can get verified.

Speaker 3 (14:07):
I don't want to have anything to do with it.

Speaker 4 (14:09):
So you can get the skinny on exactly what they're
talking about here and saying about us.

Speaker 3 (14:13):
That's right. You need to let him know you're a
big tea drinker. So President Trump says he's now considering
a tariff rebate for you, me, we taxpayers, after getting
the idea from none to other than our own White
House correspondent John Decker joining us live, John walk us
through this conversation with the President.

Speaker 6 (14:35):
Well, that's right. You know. The President was departing the
White House on Friday to board Marine one on his
way to Scotland, and before he boarded Marine one, he
took a number of questions from borders, including a number
of questions for me. And one of those questions I
asked the President was with all of the tens and
tens of billions of dollars in tariff revenue coming into

(14:58):
the US treasury. Have you considered a rebate a rebate
check to American taxpayers as it relates to all of
that revenue. And you could see as soon as I
asked that question to the President, a light bulb going
over his head, and he said it was a great idea,
and in fact, the President is pursuing that idea as

(15:19):
a result of my question. Caroline Levitt, the White House
Press Secretary, came up to me after the President answered
that question. She said, that's a brilliant idea. We're doing it.
I'm telling Steven Miller, our deputy White House Chief of Staff,
to put the wheels in motion. And in fact, Republican
Senator Josh Hawley, he represents Missouri, he says he's going

(15:40):
to introduce legislation along these lines when the Senate comes
back from its August recess.

Speaker 3 (15:47):
Wow.

Speaker 4 (15:48):
Yeah, John, I was going to ask just about that.
The mechanisms, the machinations of how this will work. You know,
so does Congress? Does it need to be approved by Congress?
Or could the President just simply do this play executive order?

Speaker 6 (16:02):
No, this involves you know, money that you know, and
the who has the purse strings in our government it's Congress.
So Congress does need to get involved. And that's the
reason why Josh Hawley, you know, taking the ball and
running with it and announcing that he will introduce legislation
along these lines when the Congress comes back from its

(16:22):
August recess, so in September, that's when we can see
what that legislation ultimately looks like and see whether every
American taxpayer would benefit from a rebate checker just certain
income levels. The President said he wants to also pay
down debt, but he said that providing a tax rebate

(16:44):
is also a very good idea and a good use
of those dollars.

Speaker 3 (16:47):
So John, now we need to get you on the
Doge rebate checks. Right, You've got there.

Speaker 6 (16:56):
Yeah, I wear the hat of a reporter. I'm not
on the team for the White House. I just threw
out that idea, and that's an idea I've been thinking
about for quite some time, and here was an opportunity
for me to ask the President about that concept.

Speaker 4 (17:10):
Sure, we know you have to go, John, but you
know what's on the agenda this week for the White
House is the President back in the US or is
he still in Scotland.

Speaker 6 (17:19):
He is still in Scotland. In fact, as we speak
he's meeting with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer. They're talking
about that US UK trade agreement reached just a few
months ago, and I would not be surprised if between
now and Friday of this week additional trade deals are
announced by the administration.

Speaker 4 (17:37):
Well, we'll check in with you again tomorrow, John, and
thanks for the story and good idea comotulations.

Speaker 3 (17:44):
And you mentioned du Butner before the break listening in
this morning and what's heavy on your mind here this morning, Duke,
appreciate you.

Speaker 1 (17:52):
Thank you very much. Kelly, I just want to take
a manage just to warn your listeners who I consider
the who I want to warn them against is the
wolves and sheep's clothing. These are individuals and organizations who
pretend that they're one thing when they are really not. Meaning.
They are saying they're for justice, they're for peace, they're

(18:13):
for lower taxes or whatever, but in actuality they are not.
All they're concerned with, Kelly is causing division. They're agitators
and they want to destroy America from within using well
meaning people to do their dirty work. And they include,
but are not limited to, the following folks Communists, socialists, fascists, Marxists,

(18:39):
and also the I call it the Democratic Socialist Communist
parties formerly known as the Democratic Party. These folks hate America,
they hate capitalism. And what they do is they have
infiltrated not only conservative organizations, Christian organizations, Liberal Democrat Republicans.

(19:00):
They are university schools and all they're doing is sewing
divisions so that they can get folks out in the
streets protesting, violent protests to destroy America from within. And
I want to warn folks, don't get caught up in
that rhetoric because you will know them by their fruits,
because they're always nothing is good, nothing is right with America.

(19:24):
They're agitated. They want you to be out mobilizing and
doing these things, and just don't pay attention to them.
Just let them, you know, don't fall into the trap,
because if you do, then you will end up being
out there destroying property and breaking up things, which is
what they want to see happen. They want to destroy
the country from within. And I just want to warn

(19:47):
people about I call them the anti capitalists and again,
they're the communists, socialists, fascists, anti fascists, and anybody that
hates America and their capitalist system. We have to not
allow them to get us worked up to destroy the
country from within. Duke, I want to share that with

(20:08):
you listening.

Speaker 4 (20:08):
Yeah, we appreciate you sharing that with our listeners because
it needs to be said over and over and over again.
And they're becoming more and more bold and more and
more out in the open. And I'm sure you know
when you were running for office and challenging James Clyburn,
I'm sure that you saw some stuff behind the scenes
where it was not as it seemed on the public front.

Speaker 1 (20:30):
Right, Yes, sir, they listen. They pretend like they're Christian organization,
but they're not Christian at all. They're front organization. And
I'll just say this that the Democratic nominee for mayor
of New York, mom Dommy, he is out in the open.
He's a straight up communist, socialist. And everybody who has

(20:52):
a business, or owns property or wants to keep their
civil liberty to be concerned about this guy, because that's
the direction that folks, certain folks want to take this country,
where you will own nothing, and the government will own you.
And that's not America.

Speaker 3 (21:11):
So yeah, marm Dommy as what I call him skuy
wants to have government control of grocery stores for goodness sakes.

Speaker 1 (21:20):
Yeah, yeah, but that but that's the direction that some
folks want to take this country. And again they play
on the emotions. They want to get you riled up,
get you angry and upset and out in the streets
mobilized protests. The goal is to destroy capitalism, destroy America

(21:40):
from within. And when that is done, then they're going
to put up a government just straight up communists. Let
me just say what it is, communist party, so that
everybody will be beholding to the party, one party system,
and you won't own anything, you own any property, and

(22:00):
the government will totally control yours, such as places like
North Korea. That's where we're going Venezuela, those places where
it's communists control. And that's what they're trying to institute
in America. And I'm saying, don't get caught up in
that rhetoric because they're wolves and sheeps clothing. They've infiltrated

(22:22):
Republican Party, Christian organizations, churches, liberals, whoever. They're out there
with the goal of dividing and conquer.
