Speaker 1 (00:00):
Blazer and I were talking about two weeks ago about

(00:03):
the Rush Rush does not limball the group Rush deciding
that they were going to a tour once again, and
it was a very limited tour, but they've added some
another seventeen dates, two of which are here in Ohio.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
Are you going?

Speaker 1 (00:16):
Uh? No, I don't. I want to remember them as
they were. I don't want to see whatever they are now.

Speaker 3 (00:22):
I don't know how good are they or what's her
name or not? The Aniga, Yeah, I think she's a
great drummer, but is the voice.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
Getty's voice is what? Okay? Yeah, I mean, I just
I don't know. If everybody says, oh my gosh, they're great,
I might.

Speaker 1 (00:35):
Change my mind, But for right now, I don't think
i'd be going to see them. They're playing September seventeenth
and nineteenth of twenty twenty six Cleveland, Ohio.

Speaker 2 (00:43):
Rocket Arena. In case you are interested.

Speaker 1 (00:45):
Talking about George Santos and if we get time, we'll
get into this nil for high school students as well,
because personally, I don't have a problem with it. I
seriously don't A two one nine eight eight six the
number eight two one WUTV and let's start plowing through
these calls. Here data you're on sixt ten double UTVN.

Speaker 4 (01:00):
I think these players should get money, uh for the
use of their names.

Speaker 5 (01:05):
First of all.

Speaker 4 (01:06):
Second and all when he only Clinton was charged for
espions for the service she had and the directory that
I said he found were five different nations got in
there and got information. Twenty of our spies we had
in the sight of China, Chuck, they disappeared. And I'll

(01:28):
tell you right now, when I'm told the China is
not good uh to those who they catch spying against them.
And then and the cion sent in the initiative when
she was Secretary of State used their door position to
make good deals with Roger with with the uranium and
things like that. When she is in the jail, then

(01:49):
then we'll discuss George Santos.

Speaker 1 (01:53):
I know.

Speaker 4 (01:53):
Then these whiny people they need to look in the mirror.

Speaker 1 (01:57):
I agree, Dana, she did plenty that was was prosecutable,
if you will, and yeah, I agree, I just I
don't think that relieves Santos or Santos supporters of the
responsibility to be honest and ethical and what you say,
you should still pay your price. Yeah, I think absolutely,
Hillary Clinton, there should be a serious investigation into her serious.

(02:22):
More people are worried about whether Bill was on Epstein's
island than are worried about what kind of documentation and
secrets and uranium and so forth she might have provided
China or Russia, or about the billions of dollars of
uh set on a my series talking to me on
a Iraqi runway or Ranian runway. The questions are there,

(02:46):
nobody wants to ask them out loud, and that's a problem.
A two one nine eighty six eight two one DOUBTVN. Tom,
you're on six ten double UTVN. Yes, sir, how are
you fine?

Speaker 6 (02:57):
Are you all right? I'm on a hard no on Santos.
I think he should be held accountable for everything he's done,
what happened to liberty and justice for all, and that
they call her they should be held to a higher standard.

Speaker 1 (03:18):
All right, we're on the same page, Tom, I appreciate you,
Thanks very much. A two one WTV is it number?
Especially since we, I mean we as the you know,
call yourself conservative, call yourself Republican, call yourself Trump whatever,
we on the right side of the political spectrum. Who
are constantly, constantly talking about law and order. Sometimes you

(03:44):
got to whip your own kids, you know what I mean.
And if you let your kid get away with stuff
just because it's your kid, and what the neighbors kid
prosecuted for the same thing, then then I've got to
tell you you're part of the problem we have in
this society. Everything is about how it affects you directly,
not the greater good, but you.

Speaker 3 (04:03):
I always thought that these people are hired to do
a job. They work for us. If I hire somebody
at say Target, to stockshelves and they do a bad job,
I'm not going to go. But it's okay because they
align with me with certain things. No, you deserve these
people deserve to be held accountable, regardless of who they are.
I've always kind of harder on people.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
I expect more.

Speaker 1 (04:23):
Out of well, yeah, and I think all of this
are it's kind of human nature. Eight two, one, nine
eighty six numbers. Steve, You're on sixten wutv in Hi Chuck.

Speaker 7 (04:32):
Thank you. First. The high school players should absolutely make money,
I think, I mean, that's just my opinion. I have
no problem with it. Anybody that can make money legally
should you know, I go for it, you know. So,
But on the Santos thing, I didn't know much about it,
but I did read up a little bit. I still

(04:52):
don't I'm not too much up on it. But the
only thing that makes sense to me is maybe Trump
he had some information at Trump it on somebody or
something like that. That's the only thing that made sense
to me. I still can't make sense of it. I
don't know. I'm with you if the optics is pretty bad.

Speaker 1 (05:12):
Yeah, And I don't know. He was such a low
level government person. I mean, he had just been elected,
so it's uh, I don't know what he might have
had to offer the president that would be worthy of
of that kind of deal.

Speaker 7 (05:25):
But I know it was all kind of questionable, right,
you know what I mean, even if that was the case,
what would it be? What? What would it? You know?
I had no clue.

Speaker 1 (05:35):
Yeah, he comes across as one of those slimy slug
people that just he always has somebody's secret, He's always
trading off somebody else's well being for his own upward mobility.
I just I just don't like the guy from what
I know of him, And and I definitely don't think
he should get off. Get off without serving his sentence
behind you, Chuck, I appreciate you, Steve, thanks very much.

(05:57):
And you said you think the high school kids out
of mean money.

Speaker 2 (06:00):
I agree. I agree.

Speaker 1 (06:03):
Look, high school kids out there playing high school ball,
hoping they get recruited by a college, get a scholarship,
make a name for themselves, get drafted into the NFL,
get to be a professional athlete.

Speaker 2 (06:16):
Blah blah blah.

Speaker 1 (06:17):
They're risking the same spinal injuries, concussions, broken bones, and
everything else that every player at every level gets. I mean,
there's no difference. There is no difference. Now, if a
high school kid had a what do you call those
pages where you influencer page on the internet, would you

(06:39):
tell them they can't make money if they were I
don't know, Michael Jackson, would you tell them they can't
make money using their gifts their talents to elevate themselves
to a point where people are recognizing them and willing

(06:59):
to to buy things because they put their name on them.
If it wasn't part of high school athletics, would you
have a problem with it. You know, my daughter is
a beautiful artist. She was making money as a teen
by taking people would send her pictures of their pets

(07:22):
and she would do a Chelsea portrait of the pets.
She paints beautifully, paints quickly, and she would take those
pictures and turn them into canvas. And now you can
have computers do it. And I think she's kind of
lost her love for it because it can be automated.
But she took a lot of pride in that she
was making money. Should I have said no, no, no,
you can't sign them. You can't put your name on them.

(07:43):
You have to do it anonymously because your your name,
image and enlightenness. You're too young to be making money.
I just don't. I don't agree with this. I don't
think that it's that it's it's sensible to tell people
that they cannot use their own name, their own image,

(08:04):
their own likeness to make their own money. I just
I think that's silly. Ohio High School Athletic Association said
you can't do it. A judge has put a temporary
stay on their order. I don't know how long that
will last. I don't know what will happen to any
deals that are struck during the course of that stay.
But I'm glad we are hearing this A two one

(08:26):
w TV and the number Mike, you're on the Legacy
Retirement Group dot com phone lines.

Speaker 5 (08:29):
Hi, Yeah, I hate to call people names. But yeah,
I think that's stupidity. I think it's total ridiculousness. The
kids go to high school to learn not to make money.
Another thing is when the property tax when when they
lets go and we vote that, Now them and the
kids are goo to be out of ship, out of Look,
they're gonna have to learn.

Speaker 1 (08:50):
Okay, dude, you got you gotta learn not to call
the air and use words. It'll get me in trouble.
First of all, you didn't call me a name. He
apologized for he hates to call people names. I think
what he was doing was disagreeing with me. But he
moved on to property taxes so quickly. I couldn't keep
it where he's going with yea.

Speaker 2 (09:10):
Me either, and I disagree. I had Did you have
a job in high school?

Speaker 3 (09:14):
I mode lawns, and then in my senior year as
a worked at kmart.

Speaker 1 (09:20):
Okay for a very short time, but that was the job.
You were out there making money and had a paycheck.
Your labor, your services generated an income for you. I
started working as his paperwoy at eleven years old, got
my first job in the circulation department for what was
then the Columbus Dispatch Citizen Journal circulation office. When I

(09:43):
was sixteen, my district manager called the boss down there
and said, Hey, this kid's been carrying for me for
five years now and he's having a birthday.

Speaker 2 (09:51):
So for my birthday, I got that job.

Speaker 1 (09:54):
Worked in the circulation department throughout the high school and
UH and immediately after high school and turning eighteen, went
to work for AT and T. So, I mean, I've
been bringing in a paycheck since I was eleven. And
if somebody would have told me, well, because you're in school,
you can't do that, I don't think so.

Speaker 3 (10:16):
I mean actors child actor says, and actors get money.

Speaker 1 (10:20):
Rush Limbaugh was on the air at sixteen.

Speaker 3 (10:24):
Yeah, I was gonna say, wasn't he sixteen seventeen.

Speaker 1 (10:26):
Many of the legends in this business started broadcasting in
their teens. There's not much room for them to do
that these days. But with the advent of you know, broadband,
internet and podcasts, anything's possible for these youngsters. And that's great.
But to tell them, no, you can't you don't want

(10:47):
them tuning into the Chuck Douglas podcast because you're only fifteen,
and it would be wrong of you to use your
name and get people to subscribe to your podcast because
you're only fifteen.

Speaker 2 (10:59):
That's just I think that's crazy.

Speaker 1 (11:02):
So I hope the High School Athletic Association rethinks their
position on this. I mean, these kids are they're trying
to get out of wherever they are, and they hope
to get some of that college nil money and then
some of that NFL money. It's all about money. And
if in the meantime they are going out and risking

(11:22):
life and limb on the court, on the field, in
the water, whatever they do athletically, well, what happens when
that you know, tenth grade student is in a diving
competition and God forbids, something happens, the dive goes wrong
and they end up paralyzed. Was it wrong for them

(11:43):
to have been getting an endorsement for a Nike swimwear
or something that might help their family take care of
those medical bills, That might do something to provide for
the mother and or father that will be taking care
of them most likely the rest of their life. You're
telling me that it's unacceptable for them to generate an

(12:06):
income from their name, image, or likeness because they're in
high school, they're teenagers. I think it's wrong, and hopefully
the the timporary state will become a permanent state. But
we will see how that works out. Anything from you, Zach.
We haven't seen each other for like three days now,
and I know it's glorious. I was going to say

(12:29):
I kind of miss talking to you, but I guess
I'm going to take that back. Everything was.

Speaker 3 (12:34):
It was a decent weekend other than you getting punched
in the face by offence.

Speaker 2 (12:39):
It wasn't punched.

Speaker 1 (12:40):
It just rolled off the shelf in the top of
the garage and kind of nicked up my face, that's all.

Speaker 2 (12:46):
It did.

Speaker 3 (12:46):
Look like you got it like somebody just jabbed you
a few times. Am I in jail and I'm glad
that you're okay?

Speaker 2 (12:53):
Nobody jabbed me.

Speaker 1 (12:55):
It's evident by the fact that I didn't call you
for bail money music.

Speaker 3 (13:02):
Is that a way for you to say, if I
call you, answer the phone because you just never know.

Speaker 1 (13:06):
Basically, if I at two o'clock in the morning, the
phone rings and it's meat, Yeah, pick up okay, because
that's that's serious, very very serious stuff.

Speaker 2 (13:14):
I'm in jail again. Time for me to fly.

Speaker 1 (13:17):
I will be back in tomorrow with Blazer beginning at
three o'clock and of course another Power Hour for UH.

Speaker 2 (13:22):
For Tuesday night and UH three nights a week Monday, Tuesday,
Wednesday during the Buckeye season, Thursday nights, bucks Line for
the Defense on Friday night.

Speaker 1 (13:31):
And now it's time for me to say ta ta
thanks for being part of this.

Speaker 2 (13:35):
