Speaker 1 (00:00):
Greetings, salitations, welcome my friends to another edition of the
Power Hour on six to ten WTV, and I'm Cheuck Douglas.
You know who you are, and we take it from there.
My number eight two one nine eight eighty six eight
two one WTVN or eight hundred and sixty ten WTV
And as always I talk really fast, so you must
listen even faster. The state report card on the school

(00:21):
systems came out today. I have had a cursory review
of said I'll have more for you tomorrow, but you
know I'm looking at Columbus City Schools and dismal, dismal
again as dismal as it was last time. How many
more times the same people going to get you to
cast the same votes and send them back to the
same positions and spend the same money and past the

(00:41):
same levees only to get the same crappy results. Can
ask a question, Ask me a question, Zach, It's what
I live for, Columbus schools. Columbus City schools, you better
have dismal reports. Were they better in the past or
has this been on you guest thing for long? They
have been better in the past, in the distant past,
and there are some gems in the middle of the

(01:04):
school system that are performing very well, but the system
overall is not might beloved. Was High School, for example,
is going gangbusters, I believe. I want to say they
had a fifty fifty two percent graduation R eight three
years ago and this past year was eighty six percent.
They were in the state of Ohio. They had more

(01:25):
students graduate from West High School getting their high school
diploma and their associate's degree from Columbus State or any
other community college at the same time than any other
school in the state of Ohio. The teacher or the
principal over there, a guy named Dan roberts Is. He's
a cyclone and I want to get him. I want

(01:47):
to get him on tape, on video. I want to
let everybody know what's going on there, because the school
was just it's amazing in what is happening there. But
you're not going to hear that because this kind of
crap is going to get the headlines. This is the
click stuff. This is what everybody wants to know about
all of the abysmal performances of this system. I came

(02:13):
out of it. It's not like I wake up every
day wanting to hate Columbus City Schools. I am a
graduate of Columbus City Schools. But once upon a time,
like all other education, it was better than it is. Today.
We seem to have forgotten how to teach our young
people to think. We only teach them what to think.

(02:35):
These are the philosophies to which you must subscribe, otherwise
you're wrong. And you got teachers that came along, you
know that they are not like the teachers of years. Well,
I will say overall they are not. There are some
there are still some gems in there too. But you know,
I noticed, probably back in the nineties when I still

(02:59):
had young sisters who were in school, and I noticed
the self centered my way or the highway mentality of
some of these teachers. When I was there, just you know,
ten years previous, the idea of actually exchanging ideas, debating points,

(03:20):
disagreeing and defending a point that was normal. And somehow
between you know, nineteen eighty three and nineteen ninety one,
I believe it was when was my baby sister. It's
hard to remember ninety six because she's so old now
I can't remember. But sometime there are things changed changed

(03:47):
dramatically and that's not just Columbus City schools. That's education overall.
Columbus is not the only district in the state performing well,
and the state is not the only state districts performing terribly.
It's a national issue. Did you hear Allison's news how
many teachers in the state of Ohio were either mismatched

(04:10):
with what they're supposed to be teaching, or there were
no teachers in those positions, or you got, you know,
somebody who's who's not accredited to do certain they're they're
just they're and they've still got voids. Now, back during COVID,
anybody with a pulse at a degree could teach. You
would have thought during that period of time they might

(04:32):
have recruited and molded some of those people. They've got
a bachelor's degree in I don't know whatever, that has
nothing to do with teaching. But if they started teaching
during COVID, when they were so desperate, you would think
they would have found a way to move those people
forward and keep them in the system. But now we're

(04:53):
lacking teachers again, right after you pass yet another levee.
This is this is this is ridiculous. But again I'll
talk about that tomorrow. Right now, what I want to
put in front of you is, do you you know
that kinder's gentler Facebook world Zuckerberg was talking about after
Donald Trump won the presidency again, and he was kind

(05:13):
of forced to admit that, you know, there was some
shadow banning, there was some censoring, there was Yes, there
was a and it was going to be a kinder,
gentler Facebook world, right, Yes, bs man, I post I posted,
And it's not like I'm all that, you know, I'm not.
I'm not the special sauce that goes on the chicken fingers.
I'm just a guy. But I'm a guy who gets

(05:35):
attention on my social media pages. About eight hours ago
I posted a clip and all I said was Joe
Biden was right now from me, from me that is
going to get attention. But right before the Blazer show

(05:55):
ended and we took our little break there, I checked
not one like dislike heart cow utter, nothing, no comments, nothing,
eight hours goes by nothing. Do you seriously think one
of my posts got absolutely nothing in eight hours? No?
But what was he right about? I'm curious because I

(06:16):
haven't seen it. Immigration and basically saying what you need
here is a federal government that's got the funds and
the resources to come in and clean this up and
enforce the laws as they exist. Okay, yeah, and it's
he was right, But there's absolutely no way. Listen to
what I'm saying. There's no way, even though I'm not

(06:39):
being Shapiro, there's no way that my Facebook page did
not get at least a few likes, dislikes, or some
sort of reactions over an eight hour period. You think
I'm being paranoid, Tell me, tell me what else is
the answer? Tell me what else could possibly be an
answer to why? What am I post? I can post

(07:01):
on there? You know my left footage is I think
I'll take off my shoe and scratch it, and somebody,
even if it was a stupid response, somebody would respond
to that post. That's because I'm on there all the time.
I interact with you guys all the time. And in

(07:22):
this case, me of all people saying Joe Biden was
right and providing you a video and not one reaction.
I don't believe it. I think it's bogus. I think
the Zuckerberg promise that that Facebook would be a better,

(07:44):
more receptive place where people would not get shut down
or band or shadow band or whatever they call it.
I think I think Zuckerberg was full of crap. It
was just one of those things where in the moment
he had to say something to sound as if he
was building bridges as opposed to burning them down, much

(08:04):
like much of the liberal leadership immediately following the assassination
of Charlie Kirk, how they all said, Oh, this kind
of violence has no place in our system. And what
they were saying basically is we're terrified that some case
from the other side of the political offense is going
to come after one of us. That's exactly what they
were worried about. And so they kind of chilled on

(08:28):
that after a couple of days. And I have friends
who go overboard, if you will, in their attempt to
tell me how how they're not biased. They was want
to tell you, I'm not biased, I'm not a Democrat,
I'm not a leftist, I'm not anti Republican. I'm not.

(08:49):
But they really go out of their way to compensate
and to try to be objected to the point where
they are they are on the left. And one of them,
who's a wonderful person, wonderful human being, put up a
very very long post today which essentially said I'm tired

(09:15):
of hearing about and talking about Charlie Kirk. That's his right.
It culminated essentially with him saying he's not in favor
of all these people losing their jobs because they made
statements or put up a social media post or whatever
about about this killing and losing their jobs because they

(09:40):
of their freedom of speech. They see, here's the problem.
They don't have freedom of speech. You have the freedom
to openly protest, you have the freedom to say whatever,
but you do not have the freedom of suffering the
repercussions of what you say, what you do, and there
are repercussions. If your company doesn't want you out there
representing them after putting something vile on social media, they

(10:04):
have every right to fire you. That's their freedom of speech.
Charlie Kirk had his freedom of speech. You got him
a bullet. How many times did he appear somewhere, and
you know, get a bunch of people trying to shut
him down, telling him what a fascist he was. You're
a fascist, You're a Nazi. Well, you know, fascist and
Nazis stifle people with whom they disagree. He wasn't doing that.

(10:28):
They were think about that. But when you lament the
people losing their jobs because they they got vile and
nasty and celebrated the death of a human being because
they disagreed with his policies, practices or politics, you feel

(10:50):
bad for them losing their jobs. I don't understand you.
I don't dislike you, but I don't understand you, and
I don't think you are nearly as as balanced and
as independent minded as you try to tell the world

(11:11):
you are not if you can take that position the
words of Charlie Cook, there's another there's the thing out here.
And again I groused off the air because we only
have so much time. Mikero and I talk it off
the air today. Where what is Washington Times is at
the Bezos paper. Washington Times fired their last black female

(11:33):
columnists today because she posted she posted Charlie Kirk, a
quote from Charlie Kirk in order to point out what
a racist, misogynist whatever he was, and his words. I
don't have him in front of me, but basically it

(11:54):
was say, as black women, you don't have the intellectual
capacity to do the job, so we need to go
find white women to do the job and hit. Those
words absolutely came out of his mouth, absolutely came out
of his mouth. Here's the problem. They didn't come out
of his mouth as just those words. They came out

(12:16):
of his mouth as part of a diatribe where he
was going off on the cold concept of DEI and
naming off the female black politician who had brought it
to the table and was saying that she wouldn't have
been she wouldn't have been anywhere if it hadn't been
for de I and uh and uh and uh. What's

(12:36):
the word the opportunity phrase? What is it? Yeah, affirmative action.
Hadn't been for DEI and affirmative action policies, she would
not be anywhere today. And and he said, you know,
to you to to you know, Michelle Obama to blah
blah blah, blah blah blah, and named off several you know,
prominent black women in Washington, d C. And so and so.

(12:58):
What we're saying here is that us black women do
not have the intellectual capacity to do the job. The
job must be given to you because of your race,
because of DEI. Instead, we should just go out and
get a white woman to do your job. Because you're
saying you don't have the capacity to do it. He
was actually arguing that you do have the capacity to

(13:20):
do it. And to hold these policies up as something
that is beneficial to you instead of something that should
be insulting to you is ridiculous. And when you hear
it all, you don't see what this woman printed in
her column in the paper. And of course she's upset

(13:42):
that she was fired because I only printed his words.
They were exactly the words he used, Yes, they were
exactly the words he used, but they're absolutely not what
he was saying. And you damn well knew that before
you printed your column.
