Speaker 1 (00:00):
Chef Douglas in the Power Hour on six ten, double
the UTV and talking about the Ohio the Ohio Supreme
Court overruling an appellate court after Status U one was
passed by the legislature signed by the governor became the
law of the land. The appellate Court said, we're going
to hold off on this thing. There's some legal challenges
and so it's not going to be enforced. The Supreme Court,
(00:20):
by a four to three vote, has overridden the appellate Court.
The legal challenges will go on, the constitutionality will be determined,
but in the meantime it will be the law. It
will be enforced. And that law is, among other things,
most prominently is that the miners minor children under the
(00:40):
age of eighteen cannot go in for what they call
gender affirming care, hormonal treatments and any surgeries and all
this kind of stuff is out of bounds until you
turn eighteen, until you were legal adult, until you can
make those sorts of decisions. I agree.
Speaker 2 (01:01):
I just think one thing real quick, that we should
switch topics because nobody wants to talk about I.
Speaker 1 (01:05):
Can see that nobody wants to talk about it, just
but from the all things flashing in front of me.
I have some moldi bread but identifies as rye, so
it's it's okay you ever eat moldy bread. I've done
that before. I think I have. I used to like
just pick him round it when I was poor. You
know what, I made a sandwich in the dark one
(01:27):
time years ago.
Speaker 2 (01:28):
And did not describe why you are the way you are.
Speaker 1 (01:31):
Some don't taste right back to right here, taste better
eight two night number eightwo ONETV And lots of folks
want to chime in, so let's take them in the
order in which they went on Whole Debbie or on
the Legacy Retirement Group dot com phone lines.
Speaker 2 (01:43):
Hi, hey, Chuck, It's always good to hear your voice.
Speaker 1 (01:47):
Man, always good to hear from you too.
Speaker 2 (01:49):
Hey, you can read the phone book to me and
I'd be happy. Hey, listen, sir, I agree with you
so much on the gender of firming care. But there's
another thing. There's other parts to this bill that are
just kind of going by the wayside, and I think
that's why certain communities and people are upset about. And
(02:14):
that's I mean, I agree, no child and nobody in
my circle of friends that have kids that are gay
or whatever and whatever allow their kids to make a
decision to mutilate their body under the age of eighteen
or whatever. How they will let them be whoever they
(02:35):
want to be. Identified has and I've got I've got
great great great great nieces and nephews, and some of
them kind of identify differently than you know, like male
or female. And it's like, wow, that's okay, you are right, Yeah,
I'm fine. And their parents they would never allow their
(02:58):
children to and I agree with that part of this bill.
Speaker 1 (03:03):
But there's those things in it. That's why I said,
among other things, if you had to pick something out,
because this is what's going to get all the headlines, Debbie,
but what is the top of the list of the
other things that aren't getting any play that you think
are important.
Speaker 2 (03:16):
That if a child identify and let's say, you know,
Billy suddenly wants to be I don't know, a girl's
named Babbitt and he wants to you got to kind
of go with that with easy, easy go there. You can't.
It's just it's not a willy nilly thing. You got
(03:38):
to let the child be at least ten, eleven, twelve
years old ago. You really got to think about this
because you're going to get slapped in the face a
million times, knocked on your ass a million times. And
then there are children, Chuck, And this is the other
aspect I was talking about earlier with your producer there.
Speaker 1 (04:00):
Try not to talk to him too much because it's
it gets kind of frightening after a while.
Speaker 2 (04:04):
There are children that are born human, children born as aphrodites,
and I wonder about this a lot.
Speaker 1 (04:11):
Yes, that is absolutely a question.
Speaker 2 (04:14):
And then the doctor might make the decision without consulting
to the parents, say what do you want me to
do or with your child? And the parent will say, well,
we'll just go with this or with that, And it
could be that genetically inside that human being, they the doctor,
(04:37):
the parent made.
Speaker 1 (04:38):
The wrong, take the wrong. I'm on that. I'm absolutely
with you. If you are born with both sets of organs,
you know, there's a toss up and a chromosomal test
I think probably needs to be done before any physical
action is taken for a child like that.
Speaker 3 (04:54):
Correct.
Speaker 1 (04:54):
Now, if little Johnny, if little Johnny decides he wants
to be little Jenny, you know what if he wants
to call himself Jenny, that's fine, but I don't think that,
you know, his fellow students should face repercussions because they've
known Johnny for four years. Suddenly he wants to be Jenny.
Don't suspend some kid because they can't do the Jenny thing,
and don't force it. Don't force anybody else. But let
(05:16):
him be who he wants to be, if that's what
he wants to call himself.
Speaker 2 (05:19):
Exactly. I've got friends that I've known for forty years,
some of them I hadn't seen in quite a few
and then they've come back into my life and I'm like,
what And I'm supposed to call them by a different
gender and there's still the person they were to me.
(05:41):
It doesn't matter, you know.
Speaker 1 (05:42):
It's difficult.
Speaker 2 (05:44):
Look, I can't get used to calling you that. When
I talk about you, I'm gonna because I'm talking about
the olden days and stuff. It's hard for me.
Speaker 1 (05:54):
Yep, You've got to people just.
Speaker 2 (05:56):
Take life too seriously about all this stuff.
Speaker 1 (05:58):
You've got to turn off your memory, and that's that's
hard for people to do. Debbie. That's the whole basis
of a relationship is the memories you share with somebody,
and and if you. If you have to turn that off,
it's difficult. I've shared the story before, a friend of
mine in this business, in the radio business, who decided
to uh to uh, you know, have surgery and appear
as close to female as he. I guess he thought
(06:19):
he could. I never thought it was relatively or overwhelming
and convincing quite frankly, but I knew him for years
as him, and even when we were out to lunch
or whatever, I would say, Oh, yeah, he's just kidding.
I couldn't. I couldn't say she. I wasn't being disrespectful,
I wasn't trying to hurt his see his feelings. But
(06:40):
he had always been him to me and to to
look at me. Oh, that's that's hate speeds. That's no,
it's not, no, it's not it's years of memories with somebody,
and and to ask me to reprogram everything I know
to be my reality because of you wanting to change yours.
I'm that's just that's not acceptable to me. A too
an if you're on six.
Speaker 3 (07:02):
First of all, I want to say thank you to
six' ten for letting me air my. Laundry CONCERNING Pbs
kid's target ad with little, children dancing around AN lgbtq.
Speaker 1 (07:14):
Flag NOW i haven't seen that.
Speaker 3 (07:16):
One they pulled that ad off The Columbus KIDS pbs
three days AFTER i put that on the air on your.
Station SO i want to say thank. You and by the,
way it's my hope and The trump's administration hope that
we pull one point three billion dollars in funding TO
npr AND pbs because of their queer. Agenda now onto
(07:42):
WHAT i called about about twenty minutes. Ago you spark
some brain cells on my. Wife she, says why is
your brother? Homosexual AND i, said, well what's your favorite?
Color she says. PINK i, says, WELL i don't care for.
(08:02):
PINK i kind of like, purple and so that was a.
Choice so, well why did your brother then go on
to molest children and end up going to? Prison AND i, said,
WELL i used to blame my parents for that because
they didn't straighten his head, out and if he had gone,
(08:25):
straight he perhaps wouldn't have molested those. Children and that
comes to this.
Speaker 1 (08:31):
Point do you really think the sexuality had anything to
do with the? PERVERSION i, mean i'd gay and pervert
don't equate with.
Speaker 2 (08:38):
Me.
Speaker 3 (08:39):
Choice my mother wrote a book Called. Choices it's also a.
Play it's world. Famous it's Called. Choices and these are
choices that people make in. Life and everybody wants to
push the fact that it's, biological and it really is.
Not it's about choices that you. Make do you choose
to rob the store down the street when the other guy?
(09:00):
Doesn't these these are life's decisions and life's. Choices and
some of the answers are very. Difficult AND i, Said,
tobi wife has, said, damn you asked really good. Questions
AND i started down the well they used to say
it was biological and all, that AND i, said that's
WHEN i, said, well what's your favorite? Color we're right
back to.
Speaker 1 (09:19):
That that's that whole. Thing And, Jeff i'm gonna have
to run, here but that whole, that the biology versus
choice thing has. Been that means since the, beginning that's
been a TOPIC ofod. Conversation i'll be, HONEST i, MEAN
i can't answer either. Way i've known many people men
who were extremely, feminine even as you know children and
women who were extremely. MASCULINE i don't, KNOW i really,
(09:43):
don't BUT i definitely don't equite the you, know being
being gay with being a. PERVERT i THINK i don't
care if you're heterosexual or. Not you heard a Child
you're garbage as far As i'm. Concerned, pete we'll have
to make it. Quick you're on six Wtvn.
Speaker 4 (09:58):
Okay, WELL i agree with every thing that you said
tonight about the child therapy and so. Forth but actually
the Reason i'm calling in is because at the beginning
you said about cities that are mispronounced Like, lancaster for,
example or pronounced different. Ways excuse, me, SO i work
(10:18):
for an internet. COMPANY i talked to people around the
country and this one intrigues. Me there is a city
in our town In, nevada excuse, me In, iowa but
instead of pronouncing It, nevada they pronounced It.
Speaker 1 (10:33):
Neveda, yeah we have In neveda here In ohio, too
up north Of Delaware, county believe it or. Not we
used to have A british lady that called as SHE
i don't know if she's still. Around phyllis called herself
phil From. NEVADA i used to love hearing from.
Speaker 3 (10:45):
Her
