Speaker 1 (00:00):
K ON Sports.

Speaker 2 (00:01):
It is Fox Sports Radio. All right, So this Friday,
I am going to be broadcasting live from the Fresno
Convention Center. Arena Club's first card show is going to
be coming to Fresno this weekend. By sell trade over
two hundred tables, and to add to the excitement, we're
giving away a pair of VIP tickets valued at over
two hundred and fifty dollars. Plus we're throwing in a

(00:22):
two hundred and fifty dollars slab pack which could have
a value of.

Speaker 1 (00:25):
Ten thousand dollars.

Speaker 2 (00:27):
All the details up on our website right now, and
make sure you follow me on Instagram at ck on
sports for more details. We want to see you at
Arena Club Fresne Convention Center this Friday as we broadcast
live starting at three. We're talking NFL football today. Joining
me right now, you boy, q Q, what's up?

Speaker 3 (00:45):
Man? Man? What's happening? How you doing? We're already almost
in the week before of the NFL. Are you serious?

Speaker 2 (00:50):
I know what's going on? This is moving rapidly. We
only have six undefeated teams left. One of those teams
is a team I'm really surprised by. We'll talk about
that later. I want to know what's going on with
your Raiders. How do we get Gentry on track? I
really like Geno Smith. The defense shows up from time

(01:12):
to time. Am I tripping and thinking the Raiders should
be better than what they are?

Speaker 3 (01:16):
No? No, you're absolutely right. They definitely should be better.
But should have, would have, could have? Right, they're not.
They are who their record says they are. And it's
one and two and they're not very good with their
offensive line. And that's the biggest issue why Jen t
can't get going. I mean, we know how dynamic this
running back can be. We've seen flashes of it, but
he can't be the guy he wants to be until
that Raiders' offensive line gets it together. Now, the reality

(01:38):
of it is corvids. The line has only been one
cohesive unit for one game. That was the first game
of the season, and JPJ was out Week two with
a concussion and it was a short week, so Pete
Carroll said he didn't want to rush him back to
the field week three, so they had backup seeing or
a backup being in Week two and three, so there
was no cohesiveness, there was no continuity there. So now

(01:59):
this week I'm painting that JPJ will be back in
the starting lineup at the right guard spot, and at
least it'll be the same lineup that they had week one.
And I'm not saying that that's a great lineup, but
I'm saying it's the same one that they had, so
at least they're rolling out the same five dudes. But
at the end of the day, man, I mean, this
dude has earned every yard. He literally has earned one

(02:20):
hundred and one percent of his rushing yards that he's
had this year so far, All one hundred and forty
four yards been he's made after he's been contacted. I mean,
so it's ridiculous. He actually has ran for one hundred
and forty five total yards, but he's only got credit
for one hundred and forty four. You make that make sense?
The math don't.

Speaker 1 (02:38):
Mass math is definitely not mathing.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
But the one thing I will say is the Raiders
do have a team coming to town in the Chicago Bears,
that are gonna give them an opportunity to go to
five hundred.

Speaker 3 (02:48):
It is good, but they're coming off a big victory
over the Cowboys, where well, the offense for the Chicago
Bears looked really good. Now their defense is little banged up.
They've got some guys out with injury, so I think
it's gonna be a big the fact that the Raiders
had a full week or arrest this time instead of
you know, having a short week coming off of a
very emotional Monday night football game. So I can see

(03:08):
where they can get back on track. They are at home,
even though you know Ellegia Stadium will be about fifty
to fifty with Raider fans and and Shares fans, but
for the most part, I mean, they're back at their home,
so they should have an opportunity to get back on
the winning side of things. And if they do. Reality is,
if you had told any Raider fan that after four
weeks of the season, you'll be two and two, I
think everybody would have taken that and say, you know what,

(03:29):
that's cool. That's halfway to what they did last year.
They only won four games last year, So if you
tell me after four games you're gonna have won half
of them, I think Rader Nation would take that.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
So when does Raider Nation get tired and say, you
know what, we're not gonna take the moral victories anymore.
When do Rader fans say enough is enough?

Speaker 3 (03:46):
Oh, they've already said that. They've already said that. Raider
Nation is furious, right, I mean, especially after that performance.
They're going to Washington, You're playing the team with dal
Jayden Daniels. You know, you got Marcus Marioti in there.
They had a tight end was out, they had a
wire receiver was out, and you got embarrassed. You got
punching them out from the beginning and never really showed up.
I mean, the score will tell you one thing, but

(04:07):
really it was a blowoff from the jump. So Raider
Nation is already starting to oh, here we go, same
old Raiders, right, it doesn't matter what you say. All
off season, all training camp in there, done that, same
old Raiders. So it's up to the Raiders themselves to
prove to Raider Nations that no, this is not the
same old Raiders. It's up to Pete Carroll to prove
that this is not the same old Raiders led by

(04:28):
you know, just insert whatever coach you want and get
the same result. He has to show that he's a
difference maker, and the rest of the coaches are as well.
So it's not all Rader Nation anymore. They support the team,
you know, through and through, super excited about the team
all the time. But until they actually start getting rewarded
for their faithfulness, they're gonna be on the on the
edge of Okay, here we go.

Speaker 2 (04:48):
Again, Bears are coming to town. Then after that you
have the Coats. That was the team I was referring
to when I say the one surprise team that is
three and oh.

Speaker 1 (04:56):
Your thoughts about the Colts Daniel Jones and.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
Being in a situation in which he's really thriving in Indianapolis,
give me your thoughts.

Speaker 3 (05:03):
Yeah, he's doing really well. I'm shocked at they're three
and oh as well. I didn't think that they were
going to be that team. I thought they were going
to be a team that competes for one of the
top picks in the draft next year. But so far,
so good for them. And Daniel Jones is, you know,
starting to make some noise and people are starting to
believe in him again. How long is that gonna last?
I don't know, But you know, the Cults are a
team that I normally had as a win. The Raiders

(05:24):
were gonna win that game. I looked at this stretch
coming up Bears, Colts, Titans, and I said the Raiders
have a chance to go three and oh on that stretch.
Without disrespecting any of those teams, I just didn't think
that they were going to be up to the level
of the Raiders. But you know, Jonathan Taylor could run
the ball in Indianapolis. He's fantastic, one of the leading
rushers in the league right now. And Daniel Jones is
looking like he's a good not saying a great quarterback,

(05:46):
but he's a good quarterback. So that's what you need.
I think Shane Stigen has figured it out, and there's
the reason why Anthony Richardson's on the bench and Daniel
Jones is behind center. So that game that I thought
was going to be an easier out for the Raiders
definitely is not gonna be. Just off the start at
the indian now gotten off to are.

Speaker 2 (06:01):
The Giants making the same mistake that they made with
Daniel Jones? Are they rushing Jackson Dart out there too soon?

Speaker 3 (06:08):
I don't think they have a choice. You know, I
thought it was okay, right, Yeah, that's true, But I
don't think Jamis is gonna get the fan base excited.
The fan base literally was boo and rust every single
time he was on the field. And I know Jamis
is Jamis, but at some point, man, you've got to
go ahead and let the rookie go. You knew he
was gonna get in sooner rather than later. Only thing

(06:30):
I don't like about it is this week they got
the Chargers. The Chargers have a fantastic defense. Then they've
got the Saints. Okay, that would have been the game
that I looked at if I'm gonna put him in. Yeah,
But then after the Saints, they're on a short week
and they've got the Eagles. So it's not like it's
really an easy you know what I mean, It's not.
There's nothing that makes sense about their schedules. It's very
tough game, easier game, very tough game. So I mean,

(06:53):
on a short week, so it's not like there's any
kind of soft launching launching spot for them. So they
just said, you know what, We're gonna rip off the
band aid, off the wound, and just go ahead and
throw Jackson Dart in there. I'm actually surprised the way
that they've used them so far, where they put him
in the game every once in a while. That they
haven't let him throw the ball. Everything he's done has
been a running play. And I get it, he can run,
but why are you not letting him at least huose

(07:16):
his army. He showed that he could do it in
the preseason. I would think they give him opportunity. Right,
He'll get his opportunity this week, obviously.

Speaker 2 (07:23):
The Buccaneers three and oh. Another team that I'm like, hmm,
interesting forty nine ers. I'm not so surprised by. They
always have a good defense, they're always ready to play,
well coached.

Speaker 1 (07:34):
They're three and oh.

Speaker 2 (07:35):
They're gonna find a way to make it through until
all their players come back. But the Buccaneers three and oh,
your thoughts about that?

Speaker 3 (07:42):
Yeah, Tampa Bay's one of those interesting teams, man, that
you just don't quite know exactly who they are. They're
one of those that I say, and they're similar to
the Rams, where I'm not really ready to say that, hey,
they're really a good team. But to their credit, they're
three and oh, so you have to, you know, you
have to give him credit. And I know the Rams
aren't three and oh. I think they're two to one,
but yep, there's still one of those teams where it's like,

(08:04):
I'm not too sure exactly how good this team is
yet I need to see a little bit more. Right
For the Rams, it's like, I just need to see
can Stafford stay healthy? Right? Is that gonna be the
case because there's a lot of questions about his health.
With the Buccaneers, it feels like they've squeaked by got
a couple of victories, which I give them credit for that,
but at the same time, you can't rely on that
all the time. So I just want to see how

(08:25):
they can be and who they could be consistently, and
then I'll have a better idea of who they're gonna be.
But I mean, right now, to their credit, they're three
and oh. Every team in the league would love to
be three and oh no matter how you get there,
So you give them credit for that. But yeah, they're
one of those. Like I said, I'd like to see
a couple more games before I really think I know
who they are.

Speaker 2 (08:42):
Okay, I need to know this before we let you go.
Mountain West football, we're right in the thick of it
final season for Fresno State in the Mountain West Conference,
but there's one team that's undefeated you n LV the
real deal are fool's gold.

Speaker 3 (09:00):
I don't think they're fulls goal, but I think that
there's still a lot of questions about the team. I
don't think that they're as consistent as their record says
they are. They haven't necessarily played you know, the tough,
toughest competition yet, so you know, and and the game
that they played against UCLA where LA was favored you
on the road, which is unbelievable. We all often realize
UCLA is terrible. That's so I'm still kind of I

(09:24):
want to see them start to get into you know,
Mountain West, play play some teams that that are you know, competitive,
and then let's see who they are because I'll tell you, man,
that very first game of the season was way too close.
They were not I mean, they were not a very
good team. You look like they can figure out what
to do with things. They found a way to win,
but I don't know, man. So yeah, four and zero

(09:44):
looks good on the resume. It does. No one's going
to be upset at that, but they definitely have some
work to do, so you know there, Yeah, check back
with me in a couple of weeks and I'll let
you know if they're real or not. But are so
far so good as far as DA have. Mullin's concerned,
but I know that they got a lot of work
that they need to do.

Speaker 2 (10:00):
Here's what I'm gonna say. I'm looking at the schedule
right now. You guys played Wyoming, you guys play air Force,
and then you get Boise State. I can see you
guys easily being six and oh going into that Boise
State game.

Speaker 3 (10:13):
I could see that too. But Wyoming always plays UNLV
tough for the right reason. They and and they're not
a bad team either. They're a bad program, you know,
and they just they have something about them where they
where they just go out there and they play tough
football and they make you literally beat them. They don't
normally beat themselves. They don't normally make big mistakes. So
I gotta give Wyoming some credit. That's gonna be to me,

(10:35):
that'll be a good little sample size of what this
UNLV team's gonna be. So we'll find out. We'll find
out soon who they are. But again, if you start
off the season four and oh, I mean hell, you're
almost all the way to Bowl eligibility, which is six wins,
So That's that's a win right there in itself. It's
not like UNLV has been some you know, Bowl contender
each and every year, so you know what I mean.
It's like this is something new for them, so they'll

(10:57):
take it.

Speaker 1 (10:57):
And it's good to see the fan base energize it. Really.

Speaker 3 (11:01):
Yeah, yeah, it is, it is. It's great. Man. The
one thing I can tell you about Vegas, they will
support a winner. If you're out a winner, they will
find something else to do. So you know there's plenty
of options here. Chris Brown just took over the city
last week. M believe if there's if there's something else
to do in town and you're not winning, they'll do
they'll go do that. Trust me.

Speaker 2 (11:21):
There he is your boy Q. Always appreciate you coming
in and talking with us. You can check him out

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
