Hitman talks to Marlene and Lisa for Stand Up 4HER a comedy event benefitting 4HER Ministries. The proceeds from Stand Up 4HER will go toward our next goal: to finish the build out of our outreach hub.

with you and I have Marlene and Lisa on the
phone with the USS Lexington and stand Up for Her. Hey, girls,
how are you doing?

Speaker 2 (00:09):
Hey, We're doing great. Thanks for having us on today.
We really appreciate it.

Speaker 1 (00:12):
Now, this is a big event that's happening called stand
Up for Her. That's happening just a couple of days
over at the USS Lexington to comedy events. Tell us
a little bit about it.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
Well, we I'm the executive director of a local nonprofit
called for Her Ministries, and we work with survivors of
human trafficking and so we have a fundraiser once a year,
which is the comedy show. We have a great comic
named Rob Smiley coming in from Houston. We also have
a local comic Alito Quartet, that'll be performing and all
the funds go directly to the nonprofit to provide services

for local women who have been exploited through human trafficking.

Speaker 1 (00:46):
Wow. Wow, that's for a great cause. Tell us a
little bit about the show. I mean, how long have
you guys been doing this stand Up for Her a event?

Speaker 2 (00:54):
You know? This is our third annual show and it's
always been a great hit. Thank you Corpus Christy for
supporting us. And doors open at six. We'll have light bightes,
we'll have a silent option, we'll have dessert stations, photo booth,
we have some dignitaries coming in. So it's just a
great night. I mean, the topic is really hard and
so but we want to provide a fun environment, a

fun night to her. And we're also going to have
a survivor story. There'll be someone there that'll be speaking
firsthand experience of what it's like to overcome human trafficking.
So it's just an overall great date night. Bring your
plus line and come out and enjoy the comics.

So can also people besides that for for her ministries?
Can people come and volunteer to help out with the ministries?

Speaker 2 (01:55):
Yes, definitely, We have all types of places people can
come in volunteer. We do do street outreach every month.
I mean, we're pretty proactive in what we do, and
so yes, there's plenty of opportunities. Same website for her,

a volunteer submission form that they can fill out and

great event that's happening on the seventh, that's only just
a couple of days away, happening at the USS Lexington.
