Speaker 2 (00:09):
The gambling into August in the beginning of college football
year week week zero officially getting started Saturday afternoon across

(00:33):
the pond, Farmageddon taking place in Ireland, Kansas State, Iowa State,
four other matchups.

Speaker 3 (00:40):
All going down in week zero on Saturday.

Speaker 2 (00:43):
And then, of course we got ourselves say heck of
a slave from Thursday to Monday the following week in
labor day action.

Speaker 3 (00:50):
Folks, this is the college football program you need in
your life.

Speaker 2 (00:55):
Joining me, Joe Tanzy, our returning champion from Crossing broad
among other places.

Speaker 3 (01:01):
Joe, how are we doing so good?

Speaker 1 (01:03):
I'm I've made myself college football commissioner, and I have
an idea for Week zero. Once we introduce our other
friend here.

Speaker 3 (01:11):
I like the sound of that.

Speaker 2 (01:12):
As always, Mark Henry Junior could be heard every Saturday
right here on the Gambler, the perfect man to set
the table for, of course, all day college football action.

Speaker 3 (01:24):
Mark, how we doing.

Speaker 4 (01:25):
I might be the wrong guy to say this, then,
because I kind of I kind of think get rid
of Week zero? How about that for an open I've.

Speaker 3 (01:32):
Got opposed to that.

Speaker 2 (01:34):
I've said that before, Like what you know, Like, how
about this?

Speaker 3 (01:39):
Give me better matchups?

Speaker 4 (01:40):
Either it's gotta be well, then it's almost like then
it has to be a full week one like.

Speaker 1 (01:47):
Let mean, let me, let me, let me stop both
of you right here, all right? What goes on at
this point of August? Absolutely nothing. You're watching watching Jameis
Winston's sling, pre season interceptions and the Little League World Series.

Speaker 4 (02:03):
Yep, right, Hey, okay, I have to have Little leaguers.

Speaker 1 (02:07):
I have made myself college football commissioner for the next
ten minutes. Okay, starting Saturday to Saturday. Man, let's go
into Labor Day because they already do this. I want
one game a night. I want the Marquee primetime game.
Give me the Titans, give me, give me the big
guns of the sport. Let's start the third or fourth

(02:31):
Saturday and August Saturday before Labor Day weekend like we've
been starting the last few years in Dublin. Give me that.
Give me Sunday, give me Monday, me Tuesday, give me Wednesday,
give me Thursday, give me Friday. Give me three big
games on Saturday. Give me a Sunday and a Monday.
That's college football palooza. This thing out. We're all about

(02:52):
making money.

Speaker 3 (02:53):
It's like football.

Speaker 1 (02:54):
Yeah, it's college football like we've been Let's be honest,
every move that's been made in college football twenty five
years has been all about money. Absolutely like this. This
is a money driven thing where you can have standalone
games each night, dominate the conversation while the NFL is
on the break because they've shortened their preseason so you're
not running into any hiccups with the schedule in the NFL.

(03:17):
Why not play one marquee game or hell, give us
a give us an action on August Wednesday. I'm gonna
watch it. I'll watch Toledo play Bowling Green. Like, give
me a game at least on the weekdays seven point thirty,
give me the give me the those primetime games, and
they give me the Marquee that the big meaty marquee

(03:40):
non conference games. Start it on Saturday. If you want
to do it in Dublin, you do it in Dublin
and trickle it all the way down to Labor Day.

Speaker 3 (03:49):
Mark Ever, JENR, what do you say to.

Speaker 4 (03:50):
That this weekend? I'm sorry to say this and I
know Tansy's not a fantasy as much of a fantasy
nerd as I am. This weekend is fantasy draft weekend.
We're being honest. I know next weekend there will be
a lot of fantasy drafts as well.

Speaker 3 (04:04):
I got a draft on Saturday.

Speaker 4 (04:05):
I've got two drafts on Saturday, so it's definitely it's
definitely a big time for me. I don't need Week
zero because I have so much else always going on
this weekend. But that's where I'm at, a little week week.

Speaker 1 (04:21):
Week zero is my wife's birthday weekend, and I'm still
out here advocating for football. Well, YouTube of no excuse.

Speaker 4 (04:27):
Here's what I will say. I'm a little sour just
because there's a great game. There is one very important
game in Week zero this week this year, I should say,
but I don't have a I don't have a bet
on it. So I think that's where we have to
go next. I'll just tee up you guys for whatever
you guys have on Iowa State Kansas State to me,

(04:48):
I I, well, maybe, well, we're gonna talk about each conference.
Kansas State is my tentative emphasis on tentative pick to
win the big twelve. I wouldn't bet on the Big
Twelve with either of your money, let alone my money.
Big twelve is gonna be Hey, why are all season
long A State's the team I tapped as the pick
the team? You know, I'm banking on some Avery Johnson improvement.

(05:09):
Climban is always gonna have you in the mix, and
I think maybe this is the year where they take
a little bit of a step. But Iowa State is
right there in terms of the top of the Big twelve.
And I think if you look at some of the
schedule stuff, think Iowa State might need this one more.
You get Kansas State, You're getting them on a neutral field.
You look at Iowa State's schedule until the last four

(05:32):
weeks in the Big twelve. If they win this game,
I always State setting themselves up for a really nice
first seven eight weeks, even if you lose to Iowa
because that's not going to count towards the Big twelve standings.
If I was they can win this game, that is
such a huge win for them and sets them up
to really be the favorite in the Big twelve. And

(05:54):
maybe you could say that about either team winning this game,
But I want to pick k State. But there's a
part of me that thinks this game might mean more
to the Cyclones. Is that stupid? For weeks zero? Joe Tanzy,
I like it? Okay, Okay, I don't.

Speaker 1 (06:09):
I don't buy the schedule thing. I think that's it
might be dumb. I heard at least what the preseason
rankings are. I think that schedule looks fairly.

Speaker 4 (06:19):
Yeah, you're saying I was.

Speaker 1 (06:22):
Much.

Speaker 4 (06:22):
That's what I'm saying. I'm saying, if they win this game,
I think you're set up for eight and oh seven
and one like, and if you lose it, you're gonna
have to claw back into it, I guess. And maybe
it's done to say since the schedule is so easy early,
this game is so big, But I think that this
there's like to me, if you look at that schedule,
there's no way they're not six and two. But if

(06:44):
you win this game, we're talking about a team that
in November or in October could be right there in
the top twelve. Already in Iowa stayed from such a
big win in Week zero, whereas Kansas State, I do
think it's gonna they have a lot tougher of a schedule.

Speaker 2 (06:59):
I'd say I would just say this much that yeah,
it's wide open from that conference. I was talking about
it earlier today, where look, if in Kansas State is
favored to win the conference, they're tied at the top
with Arizona State for best odds plus five fifty. Iowa
State though, eleven to one. And it's simply saying, look,
if you don't think Kansas State's going to win this,

(07:19):
then you should probably have a play on somebody else
on the backside of winning the Big Twelve as well,
because I think this would be a big loss for
Kansas State.

Speaker 3 (07:26):
Now, is it the end all be all?

Speaker 2 (07:28):
No, But I'm also not buying Kansas State being this
juggern out of a team.

Speaker 3 (07:32):
Could they? Of course, anybody could. They're all zero and zero.

Speaker 1 (07:35):
I don't think anybody's a juggern out the Big Twelve.

Speaker 2 (07:37):
No, that's I know, it's easier said than done to pick.
But with that being said, I think Iowa State's got
a leg up. We saw what they were last year.
I'm buying into a little bit of the hype, you know,
with our boy McClay, no doubt, but at the end
of the day, I don't think it's worth a bad
play at eleven to one.

Speaker 1 (07:52):
The problem with Iowa State in Week one is they
had two NFL draft picks at wide receiver, Noel and Higgins.
That concerns me week one in the conference, geame it
fair like my gut looking at the matchup, just looking
at the lines, without digging into it, It's like, Okay,
Matt Campbell Kee can surprise some people, you know, count

(08:13):
him out at your own cost. He's he's lost the
opportunity to coach at the power of the higher power
for a level like i Was State. Seems like his
ceiling at this point. He was, you know, the coach
du jour a few years ago, and he could still
have a really good, great career at Iowa State. I
just don't think he I think the ship has sailed

(08:34):
on that.

Speaker 4 (08:35):
But I think if they want a big twelve, we
would probably start here.

Speaker 1 (08:39):
In his name again, he jump back into the conversation.

Speaker 3 (08:41):
I don't know if I mean at Iowa State.

Speaker 1 (08:45):
Yeah, but you know, coaching cycles are so incredibly difficult
to predict sometimes. Seeing this matchup in week one against
a conference opponent, that scares me from an Iowa State perspective, Yeah,
they do return to running backs. They have Rock go
back to backup quarterback, but losing their top two wide

(09:08):
receivers to the draft. Usually a power conference team can
either recruit or transfer Portal or give new guys two
three games to warm up. In this case, before you
really get into the meatia of the schedule. The fact
that they're going right into this it's their first game.

(09:30):
There's one less week of preseason. I know they started early,
but still I would have much rather this game happened
at the end of September for Iowa State to bet
them than I would August, you know, twenty third. I've
just it's I want to get over the hump here

(09:51):
with Iowa State. I feel like there's something there to
bet them on the money line. I just I can't
because of how much production they they lost passing game
in the offseason.

Speaker 3 (10:02):
The thing they.

Speaker 4 (10:03):
Stated is Giddens and no dj Giddens. He was such
a big part of that offense last year. But yeah,
obviously Iowa State I lost two huge pieces on offense
as well. I think it is a tight one. I
think it's a close game. I can't wait to watch it.

Speaker 1 (10:17):
I mean, if you at the production Noel and Higgins
had one hundred and sixty seven receptions. They were both
eleven hundred yard receivers, and the next guy on this
roster last year at two hundred and ninety six receiving yards,
like Rocco Beck relied on those guys so heavily that
it's like in week zero, can you make up all

(10:38):
that production right away?

Speaker 3 (10:39):
I don't know, Rocco Beck.

Speaker 2 (10:43):
I'm reading the two seasons as a starter are the
best two year span in Iowa State program history. Doesn't
really shock it too much because they haven't really had
the great quarterbacks come through that program.

Speaker 1 (10:55):
But yeah, I mean, I mean sene Kawallas wasn't like senecaw.

Speaker 4 (11:01):
Light in the world on fire and thy Purty went
in the seventh round for a reason.

Speaker 1 (11:06):
All right.

Speaker 3 (11:06):
So look, with that being said, Mark, no play for you.
Do you have a lean?

Speaker 4 (11:12):
I would lean case State. If I'm picking them to
win the playoffs or when the when the conference, I
should lean them. I would lean case State. I would
maybe try to find their money line for a parlay
or something, but lay in three is tough for me.
Maybe by at the two.

Speaker 2 (11:27):
And a half minus one fifty five in the money
line plus one thirty for Iowa State.

Speaker 3 (11:31):
Joe Tansey, do you have a play in this game?

Speaker 1 (11:33):
I do, but I think I'm gonna play the player
prop market over in Jersey this weekend. Avery Johnson. I
think his rushing yard prop is sitting around fifty. I'll
get the exact number and tweeted out, but he is
a mobile quarterback. Had six hundred and five rushing yards
last season against Iowa State last year or sixty four yards. Look,

(11:56):
it's something.

Speaker 2 (11:58):
Just bothers maybe because I can't wager on it, and
it bothers me, so it really, you know, it irks me.
And I don't even want to talk about props because
I can't even get after it.

Speaker 1 (12:06):
It's but I would, I would leave jer for the
past couple of weeks.

Speaker 3 (12:10):
Yeah, all right, so K State, K State, that's where
I was as well. K State.

Speaker 2 (12:15):
I think we had a couple of people lean in
Iowa State in the Gambler gang.

Speaker 3 (12:19):
But it's gonna be split. It's the first game here
week zero.

Speaker 2 (12:21):
Of course, three points spread Kansas State favorite fifty and
a half on that one.

Speaker 3 (12:25):
Game being played across the pond. So we'll see what happens.

Speaker 2 (12:28):
But obviously gonna have a lot of attention, all right,
anything else Joe and the week zero card here because
Markenry Junior says he doesn't like anything and week zero
so of course a couple storylines here. We got Dan
Mullen getting started at UNLV. That's a monster spread at
twenty six and a half. Idaho State is a team
that can score some points. They did last year. So

(12:50):
sixty five and a half is our photo and we
understand why that is. Dan Mullen has come out and
said that he wants to be the story of Las
Vegas sports. Of course we know what's already there.

Speaker 3 (13:00):
But bottom line is the running Rebels could.

Speaker 2 (13:02):
Grab some attention if they come out and cover this number,
twenty six and a half.

Speaker 3 (13:06):
Anything for you in this one.

Speaker 1 (13:08):
No, because I just don't know what the quarterback play
is gonna look like. He's got the Island of Misfit
Toys working for him it at UNLV.

Speaker 3 (13:15):
That's never a good thing.

Speaker 1 (13:17):
No, it's not. He's got Alex Sorgi from Michigan and
Anthony Calandria from Virginia, neither of whom I really rate
a ton Damn Mullen is a quarterback whisper I'm sure
he'll work some sort of magic, but I need to
see what the quarterback situation at UNLV actually turns into

(13:37):
before putting a single cent on them this year.

Speaker 4 (13:40):
If I'm making a bet on UNLV, it's not on
them to win this game or cover this spread or
whatever plus fifteen hundred to make the playoff. Oh yeah,
I don't like it, but I'm thinking about it. It's
it's gonna be Do you have the game against UCLA,
against like a power five team where it's the ucl
is not gonna be good. So if you could beat

(14:01):
like a power five team, maybe it helps your resume
a little bit, even if they're not very good. And
then you have a pretty easy schedule besides the Boise.

Speaker 1 (14:08):
Game, So still need a quarterback.

Speaker 4 (14:10):
Well, I would say I agree with you. I don't
like you. There are those guys, but at the lower level,
Like those guys would probably have looked different last year
than if they played at Michigan and in the ACC.
So they're going down a level to the Mountain West.
It's like taking the batting weight off your bat a
little bit. So I think especially Calandria has some upside.

(14:31):
I feels like Orgy to me. Is just primarily a runner.
But I was never a big Calandria guy. At Virginia
last year, I bet they're under and ended up hitting
after a long, arduous journey to get there. But people
try to tell me to buy in on Calandria last year,
I didn't believe in it. But at UNLV with Dan Mullen,
I think he can get Klandria to a respectable level.

(14:52):
And it's really just going to be about that game
in Boise, and then even if you lose that game,
you could beat them in the Mountain West Championship, be
twelve one and probably go to the.

Speaker 2 (15:01):
Playoff, which was the rematch of the last year's Mountain
West Championship game. UNLV currently plus seven to fifty bois
of State minus one sixty five to win the conference.
We will come back to the Mountain West because obviously
we know how important it was last year. We got
to get our picks on there. We're gonna hit on
the other four major ones as well. With that being said,

(15:23):
let's keep it moving on to the Saturday card here.
Just as far as Week zero is concerned, storylines that
would catch some attention. Do you like new stadiums Kansas
has a No. One not all brand new but completely remodeled.
Looks pretty cool. This number has climbed. It's actually been
back and forth. It got as low as twelve and

(15:43):
a half twelve points at some shops, but back up
to thirteen and a half.

Speaker 3 (15:47):
Ow this pen just got my fring and nail.

Speaker 2 (15:50):
Kansas favored fifty and a half year. Did the new
stadium do anything for you, Joe here on Saturday?

Speaker 1 (15:56):
No, But I just want to see Jaylen Daniels healthy.
He's been banged up the last few years. He's one
of the more electric quarterbacks. And I'm sure Kansas has
a random Friday night or a few games that you'll
fall in love with him if he's healthy. I think
that that would just be so huge for Kansas.

Speaker 2 (16:14):
Obviously, if we can bet on player props, he would
be a guy to eye up as well.

Speaker 1 (16:18):
Absolutely all right, although they might be superflated for the
game against President of State.

Speaker 2 (16:23):
Yeah, we'll skip the conference or the Comforts USA showdown
between Sam Houston and Western Kentucky. But then we'll close
up the top here with a game that is really intriguing.

Speaker 3 (16:33):
As far as points is concerned, and also.

Speaker 2 (16:36):
The storylines with Frank Reich, Andrew Love taking over Stanford,
Timmy Chang leading the charge again here for Whay, it
felt like he had some success if I'm not mistaken
putting together his offense at the end of last year.
The like I said, the more intriguing part of this
matchup to me is the fact that it opened up
two and a half for Stanford favored flipped and that's

(16:56):
where we're at right now.

Speaker 3 (16:57):
Hawaii's a two and a half point favorite.

Speaker 2 (16:59):
Some players they're saying they can get the three or
want to shock me if this thing kicks off and
it's at three at seven thirty, because I would imagine
this will see some decent action.

Speaker 3 (17:08):
I would recommend them next.

Speaker 2 (17:09):
Year to bump into like nine thirty ten so we
can get a little silly.

Speaker 3 (17:13):
I mean, come on, man, what's the sanmichuri in Hawaii?

Speaker 1 (17:16):
Games? Starting at seven thirty is sacrilege?

Speaker 3 (17:18):
Yeah? Like, what are we doing here?

Speaker 1 (17:20):
But with that being said, take the bows. Take the
bows with the two and a half Stanford's and shambles.
Who knows what the hell Stanford's gonna look like? At
least why is at home? They're on national TV? I
think I think last year I was out here and
advocated for Hawaii uh to pullton up something UCLA and
the opener last year.

Speaker 3 (17:41):
No, they played Delaware State, didn't they?

Speaker 1 (17:45):
Well, they might have played the week after one of
the early games.

Speaker 2 (17:48):
I was like, all over them is like a double DIGITU,
which which if you remember, they they had the snaff foo,
the travel snaf foo, the bags all that I forget they.

Speaker 1 (17:57):
Miss Oh that's right, they did play and then they
played you CLA was the week after yet and.

Speaker 3 (18:01):
They didn't cover.

Speaker 2 (18:02):
And then now DeShawn Jackson is in charge of Delaware State.

Speaker 3 (18:07):
Think about that.

Speaker 1 (18:10):
Just take just take a Hawaii into two and a
half and sit back to the cold one.

Speaker 3 (18:15):
And watch it. I love college football.

Speaker 1 (18:17):
We're here, baby, It's the most beautiful thing on the planet.

Speaker 3 (18:20):
You know.

Speaker 2 (18:20):
Somebody said something on the radio the other day when
when college football doesn't make sense, it's it's just perfect.
And that's what we want.

Speaker 3 (18:27):
We want a little of that beauty of it all.
Right from there, we will of course.

Speaker 2 (18:32):
Be recording all season long, including next week, getting you
ready for all things.

Speaker 3 (18:36):
Week one match up.

Speaker 2 (18:37):
I know Joe's going to hit us with one before
we get out of here, but let's go ahead and
get to the official predictions from the conference perspective. We're
going to do a couple things real quick. First of all,
I got Beef's plays, Joe's we're gonna give us his,
and Marke and Reginia is gonna give us his. I'll
give your mind as well. We'll put everything out via socials.
But we're going to do the power five from the

(18:58):
conference standpoint.

Speaker 3 (18:59):
Who's going to in there.

Speaker 2 (19:00):
We're also going to do the national championship matchup with
the national championship winner and last but not least one
team that will make the playoffs, so on the S
one team to make the playoffs, and of course odds
are in the conversation there would love to see a dog.
But all in all, as Mike Singletary once said, I

(19:21):
want winners.

Speaker 3 (19:22):
That's it.

Speaker 2 (19:23):
So with that, let's get to it. Mark Henry Junior,
let's get you back into the mix. Let's start with
the SEC. Who's winning the SEC Conference Championship game this year?

Speaker 3 (19:32):
Market Virginior.

Speaker 4 (19:33):
This is not one I would bet because they're the favorite,
but I'll lean Texas here. I have Texas beating the
way it broke out, I actually had Alabama, Georgia, and
LSU all tied. I put it in the simulator. Alabama
came out as the team who had the tiebreaker there,
so it was Texas Bama in the In the conference championship,

(19:55):
Texas wins it, but all four of them are in
the playoff for me, so I would I would probably
rank it Texas, Georgia, LSU, Bama if I had to
rank the four, the four big the four big favorites.

Speaker 2 (20:08):
Plus two seventy Texas to win the SEC championship game.

Speaker 3 (20:12):
Joe Tansey, what do you say?

Speaker 1 (20:13):
It's still plus money and its two seventies, not like
the worst number out there on the board in futures.

Speaker 3 (20:21):
Scottie Shepherd's plus one fifty this weekend.

Speaker 1 (20:23):
Well, surprise, he's still got a plus sign next to
his name. Sure, yeah, you gotta take Texas at this point,
but they've got the for a game. They've got two
tough road games with Ohio State that's out of conference,
and Georgia, and that seems to be a toss up
based off of what you see in the preseason predictions.

(20:44):
I don't know if Oklahoma's gonna be ranked by the
time Red River comes around. I don't know if Florida's
gonna be ranked by the time the Longhorns get to
Gainesville on October fourth. I really don't This schedule sets
up very nicely for them. I think Texas A and
M might end up being the second toughest game on
their schedule.

Speaker 4 (21:00):
I agree.

Speaker 1 (21:01):
I think I think Elco is building something there, and
you know his teams are going to be studyed defensively,
so if they can get something going offensively with Marcel Reed,
A and M will be tough against Texas. But there's
there's wiggle room now with how lood of these conferences are.
That's just a really long winded way of saying Texas

(21:23):
at plus two seventy to win the SEC is a
really nice bet.

Speaker 4 (21:28):
Yeah, it's really just Georgia and LSU's schedules are brutal,
and if you look at Texas, like Joe said, I
think they lose Ohio State doesn't matter for this comment
at all. So it's gonna come down to at Georgia
and A and M at home as the two games
at the side of their season. You split those, you're
probably in the SEC championship.

Speaker 3 (21:47):
All right.

Speaker 2 (21:48):
Ryan beef Coyle comes in also with hook them.

Speaker 3 (21:52):
So I gotta break the tie here. There's no way
all four of us can lock.

Speaker 1 (21:57):
Mister Archie, mister Archie man.

Speaker 2 (22:00):
I was never buying Texas to win the SEC, though,
I was trying to talk myself into Alabama a little
bit of a wild card.

Speaker 3 (22:07):
Lsu. I love them.

Speaker 2 (22:08):
I actually think they they they win week one or yeah,
week one against Clemson Clempson, win's the ACC.

Speaker 3 (22:17):
We'll see how that one plays out. A and M
is an interesting one. I do like A and M.

Speaker 2 (22:20):
But I'm going Georgia. Let's go Georgia plus three thirty.
I think that game late in this season comes down
to that. It's a home game versus Texas. So give
me Georgia and that one plus three thirty. All right,
So that's the SEC there. Let's get on over to
the big ten. Who's taking Penn State?

Speaker 3 (22:35):
Joe? We'll start with you. Who's winning a big ten?

Speaker 1 (22:41):
You're asking me to take James Francklin in a big game?
Come on, come on.

Speaker 3 (22:47):
They got a couple easy ones to start.

Speaker 1 (22:50):
Look, I know you know how this works. They're gonna
be ten and two or eleven and one. They're gonna
make the big ten championship, especially if they split the
games against the working in Ohio State. But you're you're
gonna ask me to bet on James Franklin when it matters,
Absolutely not, sir. I'm taking Ohio State.

Speaker 3 (23:09):
The Ohio State.

Speaker 1 (23:11):
They had the two best players in college football. Yep,
Jeremiah Smith and Caleb Downs are the two best individual players.

Speaker 3 (23:18):
In college Caleb Downs top five pick next year in
the draft. According to Mel Kuiper.

Speaker 4 (23:22):
He won't be. He won't be, but he should be.
I'll tell you that right now. Safeties always get underdrafted
in the draft. Kyle Hamilton was a top five pick
until until he was the fifteenth pick.

Speaker 3 (23:34):
I just mentioned that. I brought that up. Got marked
going on that one.

Speaker 4 (23:37):
You know, No, it bothers me as a draft analyst
and as a football fan. Safeties get undervalued to such
a degree in my opinion, when it comes to contracts,
when it comes to draft picks. I mean we see
it every Andrew mccuba was a guy who should have
went fringe first round. Malchi Stark should have went higher
through the Ravens stole him at the back end of
the first Just every year Malchi. People were referring to

(24:00):
Malci Starks, a top five pick at this time last year.

Speaker 1 (24:02):
So wait, Mark, you're not taking the Ducks.

Speaker 4 (24:06):
No, So I told you I flipped on this a
couple of weeks ago. We will get to this. Ohio
State and Oregon, in my opinion, are going to be
the two best teams in the country. Like I have
Oregon as the team. I have Oregon beating Penn State.
They don't play Ohio State this year, so I have
Oregon kind of cruising undefeated through the season. They get

(24:28):
to the Big Ten Championship, they lose to Ohio State,
and maybe they even see each other again later on.

Speaker 1 (24:37):
All three of the teams making the playoffs. That you
can write that in Sharpe unless you're a significant jury.

Speaker 4 (24:42):
The big question is does a fourth And I say.

Speaker 1 (24:46):
No, Well, you just ruined the plot here, because.

Speaker 4 (24:51):
Okay, then we'll save it. Then we'll save it. We'll
save it then all right.

Speaker 2 (24:54):
To win the the Big Ten Nation or the Big
Ten Conference championship game. Tans He has Ohio State, Mark
Henry Junior has Ohio State.

Speaker 3 (25:03):
Ryan beef Coyle.

Speaker 2 (25:04):
Has Penn State at plus two twenty and your boy
is going with the Oregon Ducks Quack Black plus three
seventy to win the Big Ten. All right, let's keep
it moving here. Uh, let's go to the ACEC and find.

Speaker 3 (25:19):
Out who's in love with Louisville or will there be
somebody else, potentially Clemson in Miami. We'll find out. Let's
go to Mark you got.

Speaker 4 (25:27):
In throwing up the els. I think Miller Mosque is
in New York this year. About that for a hot
white batta. I think he's in New York for the
Heisman ceremony. I don't have the guts to pick him,
but I think he'll be there for the ceremony, and
I think he's gonna have a huge season. By the way,
don't know if it was his mom or his sister.

(25:48):
Got a like on Twitter about a Miller Moss tweet
today from a Moss family member. The shout out to
the shout out to the Moss, the Moss family, respect
the ring.

Speaker 3 (25:57):
You ain't getting that anywhere else.

Speaker 4 (25:58):
I love it, but I do love Louisville. I'm buying
and I think Brom's one of the best coaches in
the country. And I think Miller Moss showed me more
than enough when he was at USC. I think I
think he got blamed really unfairly for what was going
on there at USC. I think he's a lot better
than people think. I think he's gonna be a and
I think brom I was not a Tyler Shuck guy.

(26:21):
And I think what he with Brom did with Tyler
Shuck last year. And now we're watching him in the
preseason and for the Saints and it's not looking great.
And what he was able to do last year for
Brom was really impressive. So I'm taking the swing. But
this is more about It's actually less about Louisville for me.
Everybody can tell me all they want about Clemson, and

(26:43):
you know, they have this quarterback who's been there forever,
and they have these two really good receivers, and they
have all these defensive who they were all there last year.
They were all there last year when Clemson was painfully
mid for half the season and then lost to South
Carolina when we ought that their life was on the line.
Now they saved it. They came out in the a
SEC Championship and they did go out and be what

(27:05):
we now know was probably a pretty mid SMU team
who's who kind of cruised there off a bad schedule
and they they played Texas tough. I guess, like what,
they probably lost by ten. I think I forget what
the final score was there, but like I I do
not get. And if people want to say, you know,
Clemson should be favored but to win the AEC, I

(27:27):
absolutely agree they should be favored. I think I think
it does tell you them still being plus money. The
way people are talking about them is like they're gonna
plus five. Though it's not, no I know, but the
way people are talking about it, it's like a foegone conclusion.
I tweeted about Louisville and people were like, are you
you're trolling picking someone else to win the ACC? All
this stuff, and it's like clemesing plus money. It's not

(27:47):
like three hundred, like.

Speaker 3 (27:49):
Eight fifty Louisville throwing the l's up. I like it.
Great breakdown, Joe Tansey, who you got in the ACC?

Speaker 1 (27:56):
It is a fourgone conclusion. Give me Clemson plus.

Speaker 4 (27:59):
And that's fine. I don't have a problem with people
picking Clemson to win the ACC. I have the problem
with people elevating them to national contender status, national championship
contender status. I don't know what they did to earn
that right to be in that conversation ACC they could
I'm being a little because I don't believe in them.
I'm probably being a little, you know, a little hot

(28:21):
taky and going with Louisville since I'm not in on Clemson. Really,
Clemson absolutely is the most likely team to win the ACC.
I have more of a problem with the push into
the Ohio State, Texas Georgia conversation, and I had a
problem with Penn State. We talked about that a couple
of weeks ago. I much more understand the logic on

(28:43):
Penn State being in that they will be there. We
know that every year. I don't understand that logic on Clemson.

Speaker 1 (28:50):
Louisville is not the long shot team you have to
worry about if you're gonna bet the ACC. Georgia Tech
at plus twelve hundred. I like Georgia Tech. I like
their win total this year, and look on it, that's
an early one September thirteenth. They've got Clemson come into
their place. Look, I said a few weeks ago and
very high on them to not just win and cover

(29:12):
against Colorado in one I think I think they're going
to give them the business and the rest of that schedules.
I mean, that's pretty cupcakey. And then the Georgia game
doesn't count for conference.

Speaker 4 (29:25):
I love the two sexy ones are Georgia Tech and Duke.
I know everybody's kind of going in on them. For me,
maybe it's I don't know if it's not Shock because
it's not Clemson. I'm pretty out on Miami, not as
out as Beef, But to me, it's louis Ville or SMU.
I still want to give SMU a chance in this conversation.
I do think a lot of it was scheduled driven

(29:45):
last year, but you return a lot of that team
and the quarterback and the head coach. I do think
they win eight nine games.

Speaker 3 (29:51):
All right, let's get to the Big Twelve.

Speaker 2 (29:53):
Keep it quick because we don't want to waste too
much time on this conference, as we already hit on
a little earlier. Just to let you Clemson and Clemson
for me as well, and Beef for the ACC over
the Big Twelve. Markmver Jini, you're back to you who
you got Kansas State plus five fifty years?

Speaker 3 (30:06):
Want to stay plus five fifty at the time?

Speaker 4 (30:08):
Wow, So I have k State it's plus plus five fifty.

Speaker 1 (30:11):
Here.

Speaker 4 (30:11):
I was gonna be like, I didn't check this before
we came on. I was gonna be like, yeah, Baylor
or TCU long shots, they're plus seven hundred and plus
eight fifty. They're barely less long shots than Kansas State are. Like,
so I thought that I thought those numbers would be better.
But if I was trying to maybe get a little
longer odds, I would look at Baylor or TCU. But

(30:32):
if I'm just saying who I think wins the conference, state.

Speaker 1 (30:35):
All right, Joe, I'm gonna stick with the Clones at
plus eleven hundred. I know I'm out on them in
week one, but if you I want to fall in
love with Baylor, But the start of their schedule is
not great. They play as U and KSU and at
home and go to Stillwater, which, Look, I know Gundy's

(30:56):
not in the national discussion right now, but I think
I think Oklahoma State. I think they're gonna pull one
or two off. That's just my undying loyalty to Mike Gundy.
But if I would stayed schedule, look that after farm again,
things will cal hm down. The only really tough game
they have is Arizona State and that's at home. I

(31:19):
like brock Obeck. I think they'll figure it out offensively.
I just I don't like the spot in week one,
uh with that much production, leaving it wide receiver. If
they played k State and Week three or four again,
like I said earlier, I think I'd be a lot
more confident. But I like the number, I like the coach,
I like the quarterback and the big twelve. Look, it's

(31:41):
wide open. I'm not as high as on ASU as
some people are. I think the Texas Tech experiment might
come crashing down. And then after that point it really
is kind of a crapshoot. Will Averie Johnson take the
next step? Will Sawyer Robertson take the next step? Will
be Josh Hoover, Will it be rock O Bect We

(32:01):
really don't know. So why not in a conference of chaos,
take a coach, a team, a decent schedule.

Speaker 4 (32:08):
Io was take roberts Os Sawyer Robertson eighty to one
to win the Heisman.

Speaker 2 (32:14):
Conference of Chaos, And I'm gonna stick with that. First
of all, Ryan Beeve quote going with Utah. That's a
popular pick.

Speaker 3 (32:21):
A lot of people do like the utes always strong,
tough to win in their house.

Speaker 2 (32:25):
Plus six hundred, I'm going a little bit of more
of the back of the bus boys. And they made
history by announcing a freshman quarterback, that is, starting a
true freshman for BYU plus two thy.

Speaker 3 (32:38):
Twenty to one. They're going to be you ready for this,
They'll be six and oh, six and oh on the
season as they.

Speaker 2 (32:47):
Welcome Utah to BYU. So that's a winnable game right there.
Six and oh rolling into that game.

Speaker 3 (32:55):
I believe it BYU rolling with the freshman take it.

Speaker 1 (32:57):
There's a there's a letdown. I can already see it
coming from mile away. They'll beat Utah in your scenario
and they will fall so flat against the next week
that is if if that scenario plays out, we'll circle
back to it in the middle of October. But that
is that screams let down.

Speaker 4 (33:18):
I have a hot I think it's more likely b
why you misses a Bowl than when the conference.

Speaker 2 (33:25):
Well, the odds makers aren't in are aren't disagreeing with you?
At twenty to one, they're giving them a very little shot.

Speaker 4 (33:31):
Mark.

Speaker 1 (33:32):
Let me tell you how Sean Embrace's brain works. There's
a freshman quarterback. His name is Bear Bachmeyer and he
wears number forty seven. That's that's all Sean Brace.

Speaker 3 (33:41):
On the number.

Speaker 2 (33:42):
The number did catch my attention. That's a good pull
by you, Joe. Forty seven is very interesting. Nice work
by you on that one. All right, Fifth and final conference,
Mountain West again, keep it quick. But if we saw
how important it was last year Boise State, the run
that they were on, and it was a really entertain
any conference too. There was a lot of good games

(34:02):
in that conference. Again college football, it's best. Joe, back
to you, Mountain West.

Speaker 3 (34:06):
Who you got?

Speaker 1 (34:08):
I think boys, he might lose week one?

Speaker 3 (34:10):
Whoa who they got? I know they're on Thursday.

Speaker 1 (34:14):
They're Thursday at South Florida.

Speaker 3 (34:16):
It's a five thirty kicks like a first kickoff on Thursday.

Speaker 1 (34:19):
Yeah, I'm buying back into Bibra and Brown as long
as he's healthy at South Florida. But look, the two
games I think are their toughest are at South Florida
and at Notre Dame, and they don't matter to the
discussion we're having right now, and that's in the conference.
I think you kind of have to go with the
favorite here. Man if if Dan Mullen can can figure

(34:43):
out the quarterback situation at UNLV. The number, I think
the number might be worth it, but I think you
kind of have to just sometimes you just got to
be Chalky. One of these teams will emerge as like
some like random like team you fall in love with.
But right now I think you stay chalking. Go boys.

Speaker 2 (35:00):
I'll tell you what a Boise State is their favorite
minus on was he defied to win the conference. And
if they perform like their odds are kind of showing
us here, Like you say, let's get Chalky.

Speaker 3 (35:08):
That's a hell of a program.

Speaker 4 (35:09):
I know it is.

Speaker 2 (35:10):
It's always been good, don't get me wrong, but it
feels like that's a that's a next level because they
had a great season last year. Of course that means
a replacing genty and his production which is insane. But
we'll see plus our minus one sixty five boys that
to win the Mountain West over to you, Mark, not.

Speaker 4 (35:25):
Even if I'm making a bed here, I would just
make it on the playoff on it. I think whoever
wins this conference probably does go to the playoff.

Speaker 1 (35:32):
Sure.

Speaker 4 (35:33):
Last year, Like I said, I think UNLV fifteen to
one is worth a sniff, and I think Boise obviously
is the favorite. I'm a Dan Mullen truther. I'm a
Dan Mullen guy. If I was any of the big
jobs over the last two years that had a big opening,
I would have been calling Dan Mullen. What he did
at Florida I don't think has ever been properly respected.

(35:53):
He was thirty four and fifteen. Over four years there
went ten and three, eleven and two, eight and four.
He gets fired for going five and six one bad year,
like so disrespectful of Florida, and that's why they're in
the situation they're in and they're cursed. But I think
we might see you look at what he did Atssissippi
State in the SEC nine and four, seven and six,

(36:14):
eight and five, seven and six, ten and three, nine
and four, six and seven eighty four. He does, but
he does it Florida in the SC at the hardest level.
And now he's going to the Mountain West where he
has way more money than every other team out there
except for Boise State. I think Dan Mullen is a great,
great coach, and I think that they're gonna come ahead
and really surprise teams this year and I there might

(36:37):
pick a long shot.

Speaker 2 (36:38):
Pick fIF to win the conference. You got them as well,
but I know you said playoff.

Speaker 4 (36:42):
Yeah I would bet. I wouldn't never bet the cop.
I would just bet them to make the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (36:46):
Can you just take them for this conversation? All right?
Thank you, thank you, thank you. We'll get all the desk. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 4 (36:54):
I want to dract say UNLV to make playoff fifteen
to one, that's what I want.

Speaker 3 (37:01):
I will give you that opportunity.

Speaker 1 (37:03):
Too when we get to this. That's the next segment.

Speaker 4 (37:05):
I don't want it for that doll.

Speaker 3 (37:06):
I figured as much too. I knew that was coming.

Speaker 2 (37:10):
Un LB plus seven fifty. That's who I'm going with
as well. Mark, you made the case. I'm signing up,
and yeah, why not let's go minus one sixty feather.
There's no fun in that. But if Boise State is
as good as advertised, then it won't be a surprise
if they do go on the run win the conference.
Yet again, now Beef bois stated as well, minus one
sixty five. All right, those are our conference winners there.

(37:34):
Let's go one team to make the playoff. Will save
the natty for last, of course, one team. Joe will
come to you first. We're looking for a yes to
make the playoff, and it could be minus two hundred.
It could be a long shot. But if somebody came
up to you and said, I have one hundred dollars,
I need to place it on a winner one team

(37:55):
to make the playoff.

Speaker 3 (37:56):
Joe Tansey says, what Illinois plus five hundred?

Speaker 2 (38:00):
Oh wow, that is a hell of a wow. Illinois
love it. Please break that one down.

Speaker 1 (38:09):
There will be four teams from the Big Ten into
the playoff. And you can also bet that under college
Football Playoffs specials at DraftKings Sportsbook, over three and a
half Big Ten teams to make the college football playoff
is plus one seventy YEA. We know we're getting Ohio State,
we know we're getting Penn State, we know we're getting Oregon. I.

(38:31):
I don't necessarily believe in Indiana this time around. We'll
see what happens. But again, veteran quarterback Luke Altmeyer Bert
knows how to win. Look, there's no doubt about that.
You talk about a coach who has disciplined teams. He
knows how to coach it up in the trenches. They're
coming off a pretty good year last year, and the

(38:52):
schedule breaks their way. They only have to play Ohio
State and that's at home on October eleventh. They have
to go to Indiana and they're Big Ten. Oh They
have to go to Duke in September. But I think
if I'm looking at that game against Duke Altmeyer, I
think is better than MENSA, and I give them the
quarterback edge in that game, they'll probably be favored anyway.

(39:13):
And then you look at the rest of the schedule.

Speaker 3 (39:15):
I mean.

Speaker 1 (39:16):
The road trips in the Big Ten are Indiana, Purdue, Washington,
and Wisconsin. Three of those four probably shouldn't scare you.
The Indiana game again, I'm not sold in Indiana year
two under six. I know he's a winner, but I
like what Illinois is selling way more than I do

(39:37):
Indiana in twenty twenty five, and again, schedule a lot
of these teams SMU Indiana got help from the schedule.
I think Illinois, even if they were to play Oregon
or Penn State, I think they'd still be in the mix.
I really like what they've built there, and that number

(39:59):
to me is very see. I think we're I think
we're getting four teams in from the Big ten. I
don't trust that we're getting multiple for me to the
a SEC at the Big twelve. I think the Big
twelve is gonna cannibalize itself. I think the mid tier
of the a CEC probably does that as well. And
then you have so who's left Miami. I mean, they

(40:19):
just self cannibalize every year.

Speaker 2 (40:21):
Let's let's hear what Mark's got to take here, and
then we'll go in in to hear his spiel on
some of the teams too as well, unless you want
to continue down the Bard and get the Baylor South Carolina,
you know, and.

Speaker 3 (40:30):
Keep we got Kidd Mark one team to make the playoff.

Speaker 4 (40:33):
Who you got, I'll not I had four. I was
coming into this discussion with I knocked you NLV out.
We talked about them, you know, knocked Louisville out because
we talked about them. So I'm down to my last two. Okay,
not anywhere near Joe Tansey's ballpark.

Speaker 3 (40:48):
For plus it is, that's a big number.

Speaker 4 (40:51):
Go ahead, though, That's a big ballpark. But I'm gonna
go I'll go with the less interesting option. I'll go
with the you know, place the place the ball right
on the pharaway plus one ten give me LSU. I
think they should be minus one fifty minus two hundred
to be there in the playoff. We've just talked about it.
I love LSU against Clemson in Week one, and if

(41:12):
I love LSU against Clemson, I'm not as high on
a lot as a lot of people on Florida. I'm
lower than everyone on Ole Miss. I'm a little bit
lower than consensus on South Carolina. And then you have
basically A and M and Alabama, And if LSU loses
both of those games and wins out, the rest of
their scheduling goes ten and two, they're going to be
in the playoff anyway. So I feel pretty good about

(41:34):
LSU's schedule. The way it sets up. I think a
lot of people would point out and say, oh my god,
that's so tough. You compare it with Georgia and a
couple other teams in the SEC. I think it's manageable,
and I think LSU is going to be there, or
it's Brian Kelly's you know what, and he's on the
door on the way out, So I think it's LSU.
The team I was wrestling with with LSU is Texas

(41:54):
A and M. Because Texas A and M has three
big games. I have him at plus two twenty three
big games against No Dame Texas and a team that
I'm forgetting right now. But there's there's three. Let me
look that up as I'm talking. That's bad radio, but
lsu oh I just said it, so Notre Dame lsu Texas.
If Texas A and M can just win one of

(42:15):
those games, I think they're going ten to two, and
I think they're going to be in the playoffs, but
three really tough games.

Speaker 2 (42:22):
Unfortunately, Beef didn't understand the assignment. He's a kickball round
two and he did not send me one. He did
send me a complete playoff field, so there's no fun
in that. So if he wants to give us Texas
minus three twenty awesome, but we'll.

Speaker 4 (42:35):
We'll take the longest shot from his field.

Speaker 1 (42:38):
He did.

Speaker 4 (42:38):
He didn't understand the assignment, So no, that's not the
longest shot. Utah, it's got to be.

Speaker 1 (42:46):
Big. Yeah, who's this big twelve champion?

Speaker 2 (42:50):
He sent you to text to Utah? Right, yeah, Utah's yep. Correct,
So Utah to make the playoffs. And this conversation is
at plus plus four fifty. All right, so we're putting
beef down for Utah plus four fifty. Mark, I wanted
to go Clemson, and it's just minus two hundred. I
think that's a lock to make the playoffs. I think

(43:10):
we all know Joe's agreement, but I'm not going to
go there. So I exactly where you said where your
way of thinking was. Let's put it right in the
middle of Fairway plus one ten Lsu. I'm a believer
in Brian Kelly. I think he fixes what went wrong
last year. I know they have a ton of carryover
from the offense. I think you're gonna see that production
continue this year. And man, I'll tell you, I was saying,

(43:32):
I didn't think last year when he hit the table
kind of came off, of course, and then you rewatched
it with the sec Netflix deal, and I was like, man,
you know what, there was a little passion, little fire.
I'm telling you, Brian Kelly is going to get them
believing this year. I got them winning week one of schedule.
But we'll see, Man, I like LSU plus one ten,

(43:53):
that's my one team to make the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (43:56):
All right. From there, let's get to the net. The
Brand Natty of them.

Speaker 2 (44:02):
All National Champion matchup, Mark Jr. Will come back to
you to kick things off here. National Champion matchup and
then who is winning it all?

Speaker 3 (44:13):
This year?

Speaker 4 (44:14):
Down to my final four, it was Ohio State beating
Georgia to get to the National Championship. And then on
the other side of things, we have Oregon beating the
Notre Dame fighting Irish wo to get to the National Championship.
Notre Dame makes it back to the final four, not
quite all the way back to the Natty. We get
a rematch of the Big Twelve or the Big Ten

(44:36):
and Big twelve total gain. That'd be well rematch of
the Big Ten title game Ohio State Oregon. This time
in the Natty. Ohio State wins it again three straight times.
Ohio State hands Dan Lanning his lunch money and we're
sitting around all off season asking does Dan Lanning have
an Ohio State problem? Because that would be three straight
times on three very big stages where he lost to

(44:57):
the Ohio State Buckeye. So that's where I'm going with us.

Speaker 3 (45:00):
Joe Chanzy to you, Oregon is plus thirteen hundred. I apologize.
Orgon is plus thirteen hundred to win it all.

Speaker 2 (45:07):
This year, Joe State, Ohio State is plus five fifty,
tied with Texas.

Speaker 1 (45:16):
I do not have a projected twelve between team bracket,
like everybody else on this podcast does not either, But
I can give you two. But Texas over Penn State.

Speaker 2 (45:30):
That'd be a fun matchup. Please get me Penn State
in the National Championship, just please. They most likely won't
be because that we would pack up and we would
pack up whatever building possible.

Speaker 3 (45:42):
If Penn State would make the National chea.

Speaker 4 (45:44):
We leave me out of the weed that we're doing
there in the royal way.

Speaker 3 (45:50):
We would be there.

Speaker 1 (45:51):
You get excited. You can even get excited for your
own TEAMV conversation.

Speaker 4 (45:58):
I don't know what you're talking about. I was very
The three favorite wins in my lifetime were last year
in the playoff. One of them was beating Penn State
in the biggest game of their lot.

Speaker 1 (46:07):
Yeah and then yeah, and then you walked into the
Natty being all negative Nancy and I had to give
you a pep talk natural just so we can have
an exciting stream with a notre dame fin.

Speaker 4 (46:16):
I think they played one of the all time great
teams I'm incredibly proud of what Notre Dame did last year.
I think they lost to an all.

Speaker 3 (46:22):
Time great team Tansy plus five fifty.

Speaker 4 (46:26):
That's fine. I don't think Penn State lost to an
all time great team. When Notre Dame was missing their
two top picks in the NFL Draft, I'll tell you
that I knew.

Speaker 2 (46:33):
We were gonna en fireworks plus five fifty Texas Tansy
goes Ryan beef Coyle has Georgia over LSU Georgia coming
in a plus seven to fifty.

Speaker 3 (46:44):
I can get down with that as well.

Speaker 2 (46:47):
Nice work there, not easy boys, But I am going
to say it's back to back for Ohio State. That's
my national championship pick. Ohio stay over Clemson is our
natty plus five fifty for our house state. Yeah, as
I said, they're at the top. I just look at

(47:08):
what they have at the skill position. I'm ready to
see what saying is about. You know, it's a big ask,
but I just feel like that's the type of program
that's just gonna reload, and they got something special up
there with Jeremiah Smith.

Speaker 1 (47:19):
So I would also like to throw the ball to
the Jeremiah Smith one hundred times.

Speaker 4 (47:24):
So I'm not worried about saying at all.

Speaker 2 (47:26):
And if you want, if you want, yeah, if you
want to cover him with with like Texas did, I
mean they were successful with two guys covered him.

Speaker 3 (47:33):
That's fine. It's just everybody else is gonna eat. So
I'm excited.

Speaker 2 (47:37):
Yeah, the team's loaded, as you said, even with downs
on the defense side. So it's exciting to uh to
see what they have again. But or it's gonna be
difficult to see them do it again. But uh, that's
pick plus five real quick.

Speaker 4 (47:51):
I hate to harp on this, but you pick Clemson there,
and I want to just ask Tansy because I didn't
get a full and I know he picked the A
SEC and it's conclusion. Do you think I'm crazy for
thinking everybody else is crazy for putting them in the
national title contender status?

Speaker 1 (48:04):
Dancy, I don't know if I would put them in
the National title mixed yet.

Speaker 4 (48:10):
I understand the Penn State one more and I know
I'm making fun of the Penn State thing. I can
wrap my mind around why people are doing. I've done
the Penn State thing myself. I picked them to go
to the like I've been there. Before the clemsing thing.
I don't. I'm shocked by the industry wide picking of Clemson.
And I think it's like Phil Steele getting in people's
brains to be honest and stuff.

Speaker 3 (48:30):
That would be Oklahoma if you listen to well.

Speaker 4 (48:33):
Phil Steele loves if he loves, he loves Penn State. Clemson.

Speaker 3 (48:36):
Yes, you're right, You're right about Penn State too. I
didn't Clemson.

Speaker 2 (48:40):
Everybody loves cross the universe, Like, I know, there are
a lot. I would see guys that I hear on
the radio and they love Clemson.

Speaker 1 (48:47):
I would say, I know, I know there's a bunch
of I'm not I am as a as a coach.
I am as a leader of men. Person character.

Speaker 3 (48:59):
Oh wait, the character guy, the guy that's only won
two national championship. You're not You're not, okay, I didn't.

Speaker 1 (49:05):
Know as a coach, I'm in as like the Dabbo
character it was.

Speaker 2 (49:13):
But I think defensively, they're they're gonna have some horses
this year that's going to lead the charge.

Speaker 3 (49:18):
And I like the quarterbacks coming back.

Speaker 1 (49:21):
That was very coach my stay.

Speaker 2 (49:25):
My point is like, okay, just like I'm not going
to sit here. It's funny, because it's not. I'm not
going to sit here and say that I've got him
lucking into the the national chips, because.

Speaker 3 (49:35):
What you gotta win four games to get to that
spart three games to get a lot. That is a lot.

Speaker 2 (49:39):
You're right, but I feel like anything is possible, and
and we're gonna see some sort of you know, upset happen, hopefully,
and then I got Ohio State coming out on top.

Speaker 3 (49:49):
We'll see.

Speaker 4 (49:50):
My whole thing is like Texas, I understand, like Sarkesian
has been so good the last couple of years, Arch
could start in and be so good. Lsu probably the
best player in the country, and thus my right get
them like Bama's Bama. You're just Debor has been such
a great coach everywhere he's been. It's year two. He
takes that leap. I get that. It's uh Georgia, they
won two titles in the last four years or whatever

(50:11):
it is. And if you want to say, they just
got zach Ryer Branch and Gunner stocked, and I get
Penn State. They've got all the names, all the five stars,
they've been there the last couple of years. You know
they're gonna win ten games, Ohio State, they just did it, Oregon.
I've made my case like I get all of those,
and I can't wrap my head around Clemson, Which.

Speaker 1 (50:29):
Is weird because every every description you've you've had a
bunch of those teams you just mentioned can apply to
Clemson pretty much. I mean, coaching wise, coaching wise, you
can absolutely put Dabo in the next He's won something,
doesn't matter how long ago.

Speaker 3 (50:43):
It was.

Speaker 4 (50:44):
My point. Yeah, I don't think he's that guy anymore.
I think we've seen now. He just hasn't been at
that level in five years. They haven't been in the
league teams I think.

Speaker 1 (50:52):
I think they and the reason why they took the
backslide was and I think that I know he makes
fun of the transfer crap. I really do think Dabbo
had trouble adjusting to this new era of college football
more than any of the other elite coaches. I think that.
I think that's one of the factors. Now, the quarterback

(51:13):
situation was really messy too, with Ung that that whole
thing for a while.

Speaker 4 (51:19):
Now it's right, but the.

Speaker 1 (51:21):
I'm saying the last few years, like the DJ you
think set them back a few years through club right
in the Clubs. Club Lick's got to deliver this year,
There's no doubt about that. But I think if you're.

Speaker 3 (51:35):
Defense is as good as advertised, I think if.

Speaker 1 (51:39):
You're lumping in the coaching and the talent like a
bunch of those other teams, they've at least got to
be in the mix. I'm not I'm not going to
sit here and sell you on them winning the Natty.
But if you're if your reasoning is coaching talent, you know,
all of all those intangibles, they've at least got to
be mentioned just because of who they have.

Speaker 4 (51:59):
Well, I think that the difference is Texas went to
the playoff last year and went to the playoff the
year before. Georgia won two of the last four titles. Alabama.
If you want to say Alabama doesn't belong, that's fine.

Speaker 1 (52:10):
I can.

Speaker 4 (52:11):
I can throw my hands up and say, maybe Alabama's
argument isn't as good as clemsons. I can.

Speaker 1 (52:15):
I can.

Speaker 4 (52:16):
I can see that LSU. I think neuss Meyer's like
way better than Club Oh absolutely, maybe that's why I
don't think that's the I think some people would argue
for Club Nick over nus Meyer. I think Brandon Walker
actually has club Nick ranked over nus Meyer this year
on his rankings. So but maybe so you could say,
maybe take LSU out of the conversation, but Oregon went
undefeated a year ago. Ohio State just did this a

(52:37):
year ago. Penn State made the playoffs last year and
would have made it the last ten years in a
twelve team playoff. Like I, I maybe you could say
Bama and LSU are similar to the Clemson argument. The
other teams. I think we just have much more recent
evidence of them being elite than Clemson.

Speaker 1 (52:53):
You could you could also kind of spin in a
different way and be like, what is Sark one? What
is James Franklin?

Speaker 4 (52:59):
One?

Speaker 1 (53:00):
Is Dan Lanning one? You know what I mean?

Speaker 4 (53:02):
Like you.

Speaker 1 (53:05):
Besides Kirby, And.

Speaker 2 (53:06):
It feels like it feels like it feels like the
success that those guys that you just mentioned with landing
Sark And who's the third one you just said, Franklin?

Speaker 3 (53:16):
Yeah, Franklin, you've recently received recent exactly right, But that
one I didn't even life support last year and all
he did was make the playoffs.

Speaker 4 (53:27):
I didn't even throw Notre Dame man because I understand
he made the he went nine and three but I
did make.

Speaker 3 (53:32):
The playoffs and you got a chance to win it.
All that's made all.

Speaker 4 (53:38):
I got Ohio State, but I made that right again.
But great, great.

Speaker 2 (53:44):
Job, man, this was fun. We rocked three episodes summer
school year two. Awesome job, guys, Thank you very much.
It's been entertaining and of course, uh the top of
the line conversation as well as picks. Nobody knows college
football more than z Mark Herrey Jr. And Ryan beef Coyle.
Of course, make sure you've following all three of those.
Kid get out of here, all right.

Speaker 4 (54:11):
Let me just tell you would within yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1 (54:17):
He better, he better have won that damn kick.

Speaker 2 (54:19):

running at ten o'clock at night, six o'clock and the
kids nuts. All right, good luck on all those plays, everybody,
college football. We will be all over it all season
long right here on the Gamble as always. If for
